This place is a total sham run by money grubbing crooks that DO NOT care about their tenants in anyway shape or form. Do not be fooled by these fake reviews. Cameron is a straight up bold faced liar like I have never seen before. Nexus is disgusting. Please do not support this organization. They showed me a beautiful model unit during my tour, promising my actual unit was the very same (stupid me taking people for their word). Come move in day, when it was too late to turn back I found myself with an uncleaned dirty gross apartment with broken radiators falling apart unattached to the walls, actual duct tape holding my kitchen cabinets together, holes in cabinets, stained windows, the floors board were separating and coming apart, broken bath faucet.. the list goes on. There are so many other gorgeous places to live downtown, keep looking people.

Update from my review in March - NOTHING HAS CHANGED! Except they started to allow Stay Alfred, an Air BNB company, to rent out here, which is usually only drunk people trying to not drive home for the night. I have FOUR Stay Alfreds on my floor. IT IS AWFUL. All night partying. ----My review from March below----Expectations were high! Whoever the project manager is, must be brand new to this or on vacation for a few months. All amenities were delayed months after promised. I predict the pool will not be complete for another summer. I moved into paint splattered floors (that took 5 hours for me to scrape off), floor boards with huge gaps, dust and sawdust everywhere, a yellow stained bathtub, garbage just sitting in the middle of the floor, cabinet doors that look like they were run over, painted then presented in my apartment. Spent most of my time here waiting for the one unsafe working elevator. It seems as though every project is abandoned for weeks at a time. I assume this is because they would rather have more people move in (and have an awful experience moving in with one faulty elevator) and get another rent check than to keep their current tenants happy. The windows are single pane and were promised to be replaced before winter. They have not and I have ice on the inside of my windows most mornings with a $400 electric bill to heat 700 square feet. I heard of other electric bills being almost $1000. The leasing office is a nice perk, but if you are looking to get a nice cup of joe after 5:00PM or on the weekends, the office is locked (guess they dont trust tenants to behave properly?) The elevators are a huge inconvenience and quite unsafe as people get stuck for hours. The elevator being replaced was quoted to take 3 months, its been 6 with no end in sight. The owner and project manager of this building must be extremely cheap, unapologetic people that only care about rent checks. The maintenance crew is very responsive and available every day (they have to be with all the issues). Moving seems to be the only answer, but with one rickety elevator, I may have to wait a while.

The work done on the building has really revived the whole atmosphere. The views are incredible from the river side as well as the views of the city. Great location!

The Venue is a spectacular place to live. Cameron is the easiest property manager that you can ever work with, he is accommodating, professional, and understanding. He cares about his tenants, and has always promptly, and efficiently taken care of any issues that have arisen. The real value here is the view and location though. The absolute best views and location in Downtown Pittsburgh. I would recommend living here to anyone who has an interest in city living.

I toured the building with Cameron, who was extremely helpful and kind. The views truly cannot be beat when compared to other luxury high-rises in the area, and its proximity to downtown nightlife is perfect for me. The Venue will be first on my list of places to rent when my current lease runs out.

How could anything be better? Apartments in a parking garage. I bet they dont include parking spaces. Downstairs, there is actually a post office.

Stayed in Pittsburgh apartments for a weekend. Had not been cleaned, sawdust, dirt every where! Could walk on floor and see foot prints, where we had walked. Doors to closet weren’t attached, with plywood just sitting over the door ways. Called to report and acted like there was nothing they could do. Just took 50 dollars off cleaning fee. Definitely not worth the money.

Especially great views on the river side. Perfect for people that enjoy the Cultural District or Pirates games in the summer. The leasing agent Cameron showed me two apartments facing PNC park that are amazing. I will be following up with him as they near completion. Cant wait to move in!!!

Best view in Pittsburgh, especially when you take into account the location! Complete remodel has been taking place; which has caused some annoyances and/or inconveniences for my wife and I. However, management has been very accommodating and worked with us to quickly alleviate them. Weve been very happy here.

I toured this place with Cameron recently and I absolutely love the vibe here. The views are spectacular and the entire complex just feels different than most in Pittsburgh. I am in the process of terminating my lease early in Shadyside so that I can make sure I get a spot here. Highly recommend you give this place a shot!

My fiancé and I have lived here since May and absolutely love it. If the worst part of your life is living through a little construction so you have floor to ceiling windows as well as a roof top pool, dog park, etc, then that’s a pretty good life to me. Cameron is awesome and nothing but helpful (apartment manager). And the maintenance people are always there and super friendly and happy to help. Our fridge broke one morning, we put in a request and I kid you not we got an entirely new fridge in 20 minutes. Now that’s service! You can’t beat the view or the location.I’m either low maitenance or this place is just awesome.I will say the parking garage you have to lease that is beneath us is a joke. The people there have no clue what they’re doing but just never forget your pass and you’ll be fine.Parking is too highly priced but other than that the place is great.Highly recommend!

I recently toured this building... Because I plan on moving from new york to Pittsburgh... And its unheard of that that you can find the views at the price point they offer with no restrictions for there dogs in the building ... which is very appealing because we are dog people. I spoke with Jon the maintenance tech of the building and he informed me on some of the projects going on with the building ... he was very helpful and answered all my little questions. I toured the apartment and it has some issues but i was reassured that all issues would be taken care of well before move in and that the elevators are currently being redone ... also Windows should be getting done soon in the near future which is a plus!!! I think I found my new HOME!!!!

My girlfriend and i lived here for 2 years and i really liked the feel of this building although we moved out of state for personal reasons i really loved this apartment and probably would not have moved. Could have did without the construction but most of that is over. Service is everything to me and this place does it well, from everything to keeping residents informed on construction projects and changes through out the building. Not to mention one of the best views in the city. Also the maintance crew is a good group of guys clean and respectful. This building is a great work in process.

Great spot in downtown with probably the views in the city because it’s located by the river and there are no other buildings blocking the view of PNC park. You could walk to Heinz field and PNC Park in about 20 min and you could throw a rock and hit the point where the arts festival is every summer. Friendly staff. Additionally there is ample closet space which was a big selling point for me personally.

Do not live here. Management has lied about everything. They advertise a sign for a pool that is not even close to be opening. The heating bills are absurd because they have illegally installed electric heaters after the city said they could after they replaced the windows. Those windows have not been replaced. Stairwells are not passable in case of fire. The elevators they have been replacing for the last six months are nowhere near done. People are stuck for hours in them. Avoid at all costs. They will charge you an arm and a leg for services never rendered. Apartments drop into the 30s and there is no heat in any of the halls or lobby. Do your homework and google nexus and all their shell companies. They are slumlords.

Very slow response times from management and they made us fill out the application (and pay 50$ each) and never got back to us. They also said that the windows would be completed by the time of the move in but when we asked about it again (after I paid the application fee) they said that it would not be completed.

This review is only speaks towards John. The jack of all trades aka the plumber, the electrician, handyman, etc... just to name a few. He’s always cordial and always friendly and most importantly he gets things done. The building is a beautiful one, and certainly has potential if the owner begins to make things a little easier on the people he hired to operate and run the place. Running a business certainly needs to be about making money. It has to have an equal portion of quality and respect however when it comes to service and amenity related businesses. I’ve learmed this the hard way myself. If things aren’t done with people in mind first, they have the potential to turn sour fast. John has all of the aforementioned attributes. He’s already a succes in helping run someone else’s business. I’m sure he will have continued success if and when he ever desires to open and run his own. Thanks John!

This is the worst apartment building in downtown, nothing that they advertise in there discription is true as of now and there is nothing changing anytime soon. I see many of the tenants are going through the same issues. The management lies and continues to lie and take advantage of us all. I will be leaving this building very shortly and i would strongly suggest checking other buildings downtown before this one.

The location is awesome. The residents are great, the staff, especially the maintenance guys John&Tim are wonderful! Always going above and beyond! Sadly the building is falling apart and plagued by one HUGE problem after another. Nexus, the management company for the property, talked a BIG game about upgrades and fixes that were SOON to come. When I moved in the summer of 2017, I was promised and sold on a ROOF TOP POOL, roof top dog park and cabana. All said to be in the works and coming SOON. Probably September of 2017. To this day there has been zero movement with that project. When I moved in there was promise of both elevators getting updated/remodeled to be done within SIX MONTHS Each elevator down for 3 moths. Its now one day shy of February and WE HAVE HAD ONE ELEVATOR FOR SIX MONTHS. The one elevator we do have, is ungodly slow and its like playing Russian Roulette every time you step inside. On three separate occasions people have got stuck for hours just in the past few months. Its not unusual to wait up to 10-15 mins for the elevator. Again, there seems to be no light at the end of this tunnel on this particular issue. There has been no sign of the elevator repair crew in well over a month-and no real explanation as to why. Even so the Venue encourages people to move in, completely monopolizing the ONE slow moving, hardly functioning elevator for an entire day. No regard or consideration for the current residents whatsoever. Next on the list are the windows. Bright-side, the views here are probably the best in the city. Down right spectacular. HOWEVER, for my 620 sq ft apartment the electric bill for the past two months has been between $240-400!! Tenants with end units which have more windows or bigger apartments are paying between 300-500+ and its still unbearably cold. The windows will literally freeze up forming a sheet of frost and ice on the INSIDE. Upon moving in I was told the windows would be replaced in the near future with every reason to believe it would happen BEFORE winter. Come to find out from long-term tenants they have been promised new windows for YEARS. Nexuss solution was to offer tenants a whole 10% reimbursement of our electric bills and space heaters (which increased my bill +$100) Some other highlights include, but arent limited to; duct tape holding my kitchen cabinets together, lights and electrical outlets that work 50% of the time, new wood flooring that moves and slips creating large gaps in the floor, constant water shut offs for repairs, black water ish fluid and chunks backing up through the shower drain, poor heat in common areas. It would be one thing if Nexus wanted to do right by the residents but its become clear they are only in it for the money. About a month ago they actually had the nerve to advertise A pool up there on sidewalk signs right outside the building. Its not good people.. and its a real shame because the location is amazing, the views are beautiful and the residents are great but Nexus is AWFUL.
