Photos attached to this review are from a couple years ago.Updated review (July 2019): This used to be my go-to nail salon and Ive been trying to get back into the routine of making appointments here since theyre hard to come by. So I usually dont have a preference when Im grabbing any appointment I can. My last two visits were with the same tech (forgot her name) who I believe is on the newer side. My nails from both visits have peeled off within 2 weeks. First visit with her, she mustve buffed my nails too much because they were paper thin and all ended up breaking. Second visit, the nails bubbled and were easily peeling off. I used to go a month in-between sessions! She also took way too long for what I thought was a simple design.I suppose I could make sure I dont book with this tech ever again, but what happened to when the quality between all techs were great? I used to love knowing that across the board, you could trust any of the techs to give a great gel manicure but that doesnt seem to be the case anymore.
First time coming to this place and I loved it. Scheduled my appt with Jocelyn from the front desk and when I came in, I was seen immediately. I got a pedicure by Mia and a gel manicure by Hiromi. The place is kind of small so if you plan on coming with a friend/sister...you might want to rethink that. Overall my experience was great. Also, tip must be in cash, so the good thing is they offer cash back if you dont carry cash on you. Its always best to schedule an appointment with them and if you want extensions on your nails, its typically booked in a month advance. Loved the service and loved my nails! Will come again!
While visiting, my friend took me to this spot as I wanted some great-looking, long-lasting nails like the ones all over her Instagram. I was a little surprised at the location - essentially a tiny, basement room with pretty much no ambiance - and the minimal hand and nail maintenance that occurred (perhaps this is normal for gels, but I wouldve at least liked some lotion and hand massage), but I am generally happy with my nails over a week later. There are some minor imperfections and a little smearing of the design on one nail that I now notice in good lighting, but they do offer free touch-ups/re-dos within a week. The nail technicians were all very nice and really worked with me to achieve exactly what I wanted. Id go back, but for the price would ultimately prefer a spot that felt a bit more like a salon experience, rather than just a utilitarian, albeit lovely, nail job. Admittedly, this was my first-ever gel manicure and my first visit to a nail salon period in a few years.
They do an excellent job and the ambiance is lovely and the hygiene/cleanliness is perfect. The gel manicures last longer than any Ive ever gotten anywhere else--I had one that lasted me six weeks!! This is the best manicure salon Ive found in the whole city. Worth the price for sure.
I came after work and Molly did such a great job! I had a manicure and pedicure and my nails have never looked that good ! I love that they are open late too. Will definitely come back.
I absolutely love this nail salon, they do a great job and their prices are super reasonable. There is often a wait time but its usually not too long if you go at the right time. Im always satisfied with my gel manicures whenever I come here. Sabrina also does AWESOME nail art. Highly recommend this salon.
The sisters nail spa is the best nail salon I have been to. The owners are welcoming. They help you pick out colors that match your skin or even if you describe a color you want they can help you find it!! Def recommend!
I was invited back to the nail salon and got a MUCH better manicure and pedicure. I really appreciated the outreach and am very pleased with the new results.
This is my favorite dip powder manicure salon. They have a huge selection in colors and the staff is friendly. My manicure was done by Y. She is meticulous and takes her time to make sure its done perfectly. The best part? It lasts 4 weeks. My nails have grown out and the polish hasnt chipped off. This was my second time coming here and it wont be my last. Ill be telling all my friends about this salon.
Fantastic 😍 service. The people are welcoming and friendly. Definitely follow the customer is always right. Quality is superb, gel nails can last up to 4-5 weeks if kept in good condition. They always have a warm welcome when you enter.
The manicures here are amazing. Unbelievable really. This is not the type of salon you come to for a pampering experience, where you get a massage, or that type of thing. This is the place you come to if you want to rock ridiculously intricate and beautiful gel designs for upwards of three weeks. My nails look awesome, I get compliments on them every day, and theyve lasted forever without a chip.
I come here to get my nails done and they do a excellent job u dont got to wait long and. There very friendly towards there cousterm and they talk with there could term which I really like. Keep up the good work.
Atrocious result. Paid a small fortune for my nails and a week later all the color had washed off so they now look terrible (see picture).Emailed them about it and they never even replied. Would not recommend this place.
I had a great experience getting a gel manicure at Marie Nails yesterday! The location is very central, the building is nice, the prices are extremely reasonable, Annie was diligent, and appointments were flexible!
My happy place 💞
The original Marie Nails in NYC. I prefer the Nolita location better. This one just seems so cramped when its busy. That said, the nail artists here are top notch. If youre looking for a cal gel manicure this is a much better value than the other salons.
Ive been going here for years..will never go to another nail salon. Once you find a fit, its Amazing. I usually go to Elina but really all of the technicians are top notch. Mei is a fan favorite and so is Tomo. Please know this is not a place to walk in. You should book 2 weeks in advance.
A super busy two story salon. Head straight downstairs for nails where youll come across the nicest people. Check in with the receptionist, pick your color on the wall in the hallway leading to the bathroom, and wait for your nail tech. I waited less than 5 minutes upon walking downstairs and had two girls working on me at once since I had a mani/pedi. They were both efficient and polite, always checking in if everything was okay and if the water temperature was too hot. Theyre a popular salon so the day was actually booked when I called in the morning before they were even open. The lady who spoke with me took down my number and called me about two hours later when there was a cancellation. I appreciated the effort to have me booked so last minute! The only downsides I can think of are that chrome isnt offered for pedicures (not sure if thats very common anyway), and downstairs is pretty tiny. Anyone waiting for you will have to wait upstairs.
Love The Staff they are always so Pleasant and Professional.
I absolutely love the vibe of this nail salon. I normally have some sort of trepidation visiting a nail salon as getting a mani & pedi does not relax me, as most people. The nail artists/techs and front desk staff all seem to get along really well, and are incredibly helpful to each other. At my first visit, Saki, was patient, asked me numerous times if I liked her work throughout the appointment, made sure my nail lengths and shape were uniform. She did a great job as did Leezy on my second visit. Marie Nails is worth the trek downtown for this Harlemite.
The nail technician did a good job on my nails. They seemed to have the best prices, however, prices are subjected to increase soon. Im rating them 2.5 because the environment and personality of the people was not welcoming. I made an appointment to get designs and every design I asked the technician for, she told me she didnt have the time to do it. So, I just settled with adding a few studs. The next day one of my studs fell off; and when I went to get the stud replaced, they seemed as if they didnt want to do it. The two obnoxious ladies that I engaged with had the nerve to remind me that I didnt leave a tip, and cornered me as if to say I should leave it at that moment. Not only did I feel they were rude but also unprofessional. Tips are earned not giving just because you coerce me into giving it to you.
Never a disappointment! Theyre the best! Arigato
Marie Nails are always professional in the service they provide. I have been going there for about 2 years now, and Im always please with my nails.
My fav spot for fancy nail designs.
I have been a loyal customer for about 4 years now, and I have no complaints. Of course they have rules here regarding appointments and removing of Gel polish that might seem foreign to those who are used to regular nail salons. But this place is not just your average nail salon. You pay for QUALITY here. The Gel here is superb and lasts a long time. A gel mani here can last me for a month (Cal Gel), a gel pedi can last me more than 2 months (Cal Gel)! Their designs are amazing as well and very modern. Dont expect to pay $25 for a gel pedi here, these nail techs have done celebrity nails, so they are providing top notch nail game. Ive had just about every nail tech there and they are all lovely. Elina, Eri, Tomo, Yuka, May, and Sara are just about a handful of ones that have definitely made an impact to me.
Love this palce as a man should keep up with himself
I stopped by here without an appointment looking for a mani/pedi, but they were only able to squeeze me in for one. So I got the pedicure. The massage chair didnt seem to work, and they left me indefinitely at the nail dry station, which was awkward. But the pedicure was nice.
Great service!! Loved my mani-pedi!
You can only book an acrylic appointment a month later??? No way...
I have used Marie Nails many times in the past without complaints but my last experience was awful. On Friday the 22nd I visited the Nolita location and sat with Sarah. Seemed pleasant at first. Showed her the design I wanted from their instagram page. She tried to match the colors as best as possible and asked what I thought, I started to say it is a little bit off but before I could complete my sentence indicating that I am ok with her choice, she then shoved the color wheel into my hand and said you choose your own colors. I calmly set it down and said I am fine with the colors. There was no conversation for the next 45 mins with the exception of indicating when to put my fingers under the UV light and at the end asking if everything is ok. My design did not resemble that of the instagram page but did not complain and still left a $10 tip on a $55 bill.3 days later which is Monday 25th, the gel on 2 nails started to lift and by Wednesday 27th, a 3rd nail. Less than a week. I was not able to go in immediately to have it repaired because of my work schedule and decided to go on my day off which was Saturday 30th. Arrived and the receptionist seemed understanding and apologetic and enquired whether I went to the beach or pool, or had done excesive scratching, all of which I indicated no. She then asked if I had gel or acrylic from elsewhere prior to getting my nails done, I said yes to having gel extensions. Her response was that could be the reason for the lift but cant say with certainty. My nails were cleaned, filed and buffed by the Marie Nail technician Sarah prior to applying the cal gel.I got the 3 nails repaired but lost one of the designs which I initially paid for but was ok with given the time constraints. At the end of the session I was asked to see the receptionist and then handed a bill of almost $13. I asked about the repair policy and was told it is up to 7 days and that because I came on the 8th day, I am being charged. I explained my work scheduled and was told that I should have called to indicate the problem. I then went on to say I did not call or even think of calling because I never anticipated that Marie Nails would not honor the repair given the time frame. I paid my bill and still gave the technician a $5 tip.I left with a feeling of disgust and anger. Not only did I loose a design which I paid for but had to also pay to have the 3 nails repaired for a job done within a week.No customer appreciation or ownership of fault. It is sad to say that I was seen only a dollar sign.
