I got a dip powder manicure and a milk and honey pedicure from Amy. I love how my nails look and it was my first time trying a dip powder. I wanted to see a professional do it before trying on myself at home. The pedicure wasn’t anything to rave about but my toes look nice.I didn’t watch for how they store the tools they use as I’ve gone to a lot of salons that use a fresh set of tools. I would likely go here again for a pedicure so I’ll watch for that next time.
I absolutely love this place. Yuki is the BEST.!!!! My daughter and I go every two weeks for our mommy daughter time. No better place all the ladies are very friendly and professional. They also have Spanish speaking techs if you need that. Highly recommend. Ask for Yuki. 🥰
I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure a few weeks back and I was so disappointed. First, I my nails and toe nail color did not match even though it was in the same box (the set of colors that come in both gel and regular polish) and the manager said that wasnt her fault and did not want to change either color. I let that go, but I am writing this review because my gel polish started to come off in less than a week. It should last at least two weeks so it was ultimately a waste of money. My pedicure did not last more than two weeks either so I will not be returning.
Great nail place, I love going to Yuki but everyone is wonderful. It is very clean and they have good pedicure packages.
I’m excited to write this review. I’ve been going here for a year. I was originally coming here because of it’s convenient location but now it’s my favorite in the area. The new staff is fantastic; they work hard and are kind, genuine people. This was my first manicure since COVID-19 and I will definitely come back again soon. They have clear screens for manicures and sterilize the equipment and stations after each person. Really impressed with how this salon has evolved and would recommend to friends and family.
Called for an appointment and wow!!! Poor poor poor customer service skills. No phone etiquette .
I’ve been several times and I must say that my service with Hilda or Virginia is The Best! Unfortunately, today will be my last time patronizing this place. An elderly lady walked in with a walker and asked about gel service. The receptionist (male) blatantly lied to the lady and said that “they do NOT do gel manicures”. I was very puzzled as there were a few ladies getting gel manicures as she was inquiring. The last paused for a moment and kindly said, I know you do gel manicures but ok, have a nice day. After she left, I asked the young man if they did gel manicures. He said” yes we do” . I then asked “ so why did you tell the lady you didn’t”. He replied” we only have “one” nail tech who does the gel and she’s very busy”. I explained to him that it was very rude and unprofessional to lie to potential clients. I told him he should of stated that they do gel, however the nail tech was very busy and gave her the option to wait. What pissed me off the most was that this lady came in with a walker and he lied to her. I told him that the last could have been my grandmother and I would hate to think that he would have lied to my grandmother and dismiss her. Instead or apologizing he made excuses. Then the manager or lead tech stood up and basically tried to justify his lie and told me to calm down . Listen, I’ve spent a very hefty chunk of money in that place and I LOVE my nail techs. However they will NEVER get another red cent from me.You Will NOT TREAT PEOPLE HOW YOU FEEL THEY SHOULD BE TREATED... WE ALL DESERVE RESPECT AND DIGNITY. My money holds the same value as those who look different from me.......... you should be ashamed. And if I may be honest, you should be the last group of folks to discriminate... News Flash!!
Best manicure Ive had in a while. The woman who did my nails was gentle and did a great job. Not expensive and nice atmosphere. Would go again. Open late which is nice
Great! love my pampering time @Lilac
Your standard no frills nail salon where your experience will vary vastly based on who you get as your nail technician
Didnt like it. It was a gift from someone? Are they trying to tell me something? I tried to go somewhere else but they wouldnt take the gift card. I dont go to these places. Tools arent clean. Just my opinion.
I have been coming to this nail salon for 2 years now since the staff is super professional and my nails always look fantastic! Thanks, Lilac Spa Team!
Always reliable, my nails always last longer than I expect (4 weeks for dip acrylics, and 3 weeks for gel). They always try to fit me in, even when I come in super late!
Just tried this nail salon for the first time and I regret not finding it earlier! Excellent experience. The place is clean and looks great, the ladies are lovely, and the work is immaculate! I’m a pain in the neck and I have really high standards for nail work, so giving this place 5 stars is kind of a big deal! I got a gel mani and a gel spa-pedi, and a 20-minute chair massage. Needless to say, I ended up with a rather large bill, but I got a pretty good idea on quality of their service and I definitely recommend this place. Their online menu is old so you might want to call in advance and check the current prices. I’m definitely going back! 💅🏼💆🏻♀️
This was my first time going here and it was absolutely amazing. The staff were SO nice and my nails look amazing. I got a mani & pedi for $40!! Will definitely be back!
I’ve been going here for 6 years- this is my favorite place in the city. They take really good care of their customers, everyone is really nice.
They did a good job with the pedicure but I had serious concerns about hygiene. Unlike many other places, they don’t use a plastic bag in the tub. After someone else they just rinse it - but I noticed there was some residue...I mean, ew. If I didn’t remind them, they weren’t going to change the towel either! Friendly staff and reasonable price, but I’m not sure that I’ll be going there again, sorry :(
Got a gel manicure, although meticulous there were bubbles on 4 out of 10 nails, and what looks to be like a cotton fiber stuck in the polish, for $37 Im not sure Ill be going back unless Im in a pinch.(Also on their site it says $30 for gel mani not $37 Im assuming the extra is to take off the existing gel on your nails which is fine but would have thought it was included like it is everywhere else Ive gone)
Very disappointed. The staff and the ladies who work there are very nice and the service is pretty good but the products they use are not good. Not even two hours later, my nail polish was already chipping. Soooo expensive and their nail polish is awful. Not the first time it happened. Shame on me for going again. Not anymore😔
Super frustrating experience. Called ahead for a spa pedicure, announced myself when I arrived and was given a seat quickly. I’m 38 weeks pregnant so I was excited for some mommy time before my second babe comes. After fifteen minutes the technician starts painting my toes, I had zoned out trying to relax so I didn’t notice earlier. Asked about the parafin treatment and massage and she said she didn’t know, “you didn’t tell me”. I can’t believe when locales make a mistake and then blame it on the customer. I don’t know if it was front desk mistake or technician but I wish they could’ve offered some sort of remedy. Now I’m headed out with my toes painted and nothing I actually wanted after paying a babysitter to have a few moments to relax before the new babe. Liked this place before, not coming back now.
I went for a pedicure, manicure, back massage, and while I was there, I also scheduled an appointment with the male receptionist for my friend for 2:20 pm. A few minutes later, when my friend arrived at 2:24 pm, Ive noticed the receptionist had given the appointment to another client. When I questioned the receptionist, he seemed careless and told me to give it 10 minutes. He wasnt focused and always on his phone. At 3:02 pm was the time that they took care of my friend. The receptionist needs some customer service.
I went for a manicure and pedicure today, and Hilda did a marvelous job! I am very impressed and she deserves all the compliments in the world! Her attention to detaild and patience are out of this world. Next time you go, ask for Hilda and you will not be dissapointed.
The nail tech was really nice and did a good job. However, my massage chair was broken and when I asked a person whom I think is a manager (an older, Spanish speaking lady with glasses) if I could switch, she said no. And then refused to give me a discount for the broken chair. With so many options for nail salons in NYC, I dont understand why this small customer service accommodation could not be made. Really disappointed.
Massage chairs, great personal attention. $40 mani pedi.
Two stars because theyre still there. When Lilac first opened it was a gem. Now, its one of the last places Id choose to patronize. At one time it was standing room only—every chair occupied and forget getting service if you didnt have an appointment, the wait would be insane. Walk in now and the ladies hop up from their empty tables and ponce on you. So many things have changed including the quality of the polish. This has been happening for a while now. While I continued going, Id just bring my own polish—the service was good. When filing my nails turned into sawing them, I stopped all mani/pedi treatments. Forget their waxing service—I dont belive all the ladies are licensed estheticians. They do nothing like other salons—even at only $15, dont do it—the aftermath of ingrown hairs is no compromise and certainly no deal. Its a shame Lilac isnt better. Its a great location, near lots of public transportation. Theres a Starbucks next door and the population is uber dense.I hope the next business that leases this spot takes good care of their business.
Amazing. Got a massage with my gel many pedi. Great service. Quick. Really nice staff
1st time going. Clean place. Good customer service. Will definitely go back since its right in my neighborhood.
Came in for the first time to get a gel manicure...I told the lady how I wanted them done, I even showed her a picture of the exact style nails I wanted, but she decided to take matters into her own hands and do her own thing..My nails came out looking like a 5 year old did my nails..I had asked another employee who worked there of what she had thought of my nails and gave me a disappointing look..that was enough for me to understand that I wasn’t crazy. I told them that I was disappointed with the job, and if it was possible to change the color atleast. They completely ignored me and said they didn’t have time. So therefore I had asked if it was possible for me to go in the next day. They told me that they would charge me extra for it..when I had already paid $40 including Tip..I was very disappointed. Never again will I go there. Wasted of money and bad service!!
Very attentive, clean, fast staff was Polite and great work
I have been here several times and the service has gotten progressively worse. Two days after my gel manicure last week, the color on both pointer fingers popped off, and the other nails started chipping less than a week after the manicure. My technician was visibly apathetic, didn’t give me a massage, and my gel manicure still took 2 hours. This cost $45 (before tip, which I always leave). I also overheard my tech talking, in Spanish, about my accent, and talking about other customers with her co-workers.
My gf went here to do her nails. She was really satisfied with the end result and reasonable prices. On top, she enjoyed a free back massage.
Clean, great service and good prices!
Loved it, it was clean the workers were nice as well, gel pedicure was about 50$ but the job was great.
Love this place. Prices may be a little high because of location but they take customer service very seriously here.
Not the best but not the worst. Decent place
I love Lilac -- I have been coming here for almost 2 years and have a great experience each time. Its clean, quiet and the service I receive is impeccable each time.
Friendly, very clean, good technicians. Highly recommend it
Thank you Virginia ! Best gel manicure every time !
Rosa is a sweetheart, very patient and kind
They have amazing service!
Always quick service for walk ins. I get gel and they do it perfectly (Im picky!)
Never had a bad experience here. They even renovated recently.
I wouldnt even give this place a star but you have to to leave a comment. Their service is horrible I was sent back and forth between both locations and neither of them ended up to even know how to provide the nail service I needed. What a waste of my time. They are rude and completely overpriced. Save yourself the trouble this place is disgusting.
Decided to try this place because it was close to campus. It was way too expensive for low-quality work that takes forever to finish. It cost $40 (excluding the tip) for a plain, one-color gel manicure. You only get to choose from a limited range of flat colors-- getting a color with shimmer/glitter or having more than one color costs $15, adding glitter, foil or anything extra cost $15-30 extra. They put way too much oil and lotion on your hand; Im all down for cuticle oil and lotion, but they used 5 different oils total, it seemed pretty unnecessary and time consuming. They filed my nails unevenly and made me bleed with the cuticle trimmers. The lacquer is not good quality; Ive only had the nails 1.5 weeks and they are already peeling/chipping off.Im giving 1 star because the staff were nice, but Im disappointed that I spent over an hour getting a (painful!) 1-color manicure that is now coming off.
Sloppy work. I got a manicure/pedicure and I was not impressed.
Mediocre. Staff do a fine job but keep to themselves. Don’t trust any of the prices on their website, they’re all outdated which I was only told after I got the services and when I complained and showed the website prices all I got was “Sorry, I’ve told the owners.”
Used to go every week, they were great. Management changed a few months ago and now they are TERRIBLE. Extremely ghetto attitudes. I wish it was still the old owners.
Great place for waxing and nail services.
Good and kind service. I always come here for my manipedis.
Nice clean place with friendly, professional service.
There is an odor of dirty feet as soon as you walk in, it smells like corn chips and that is a sign of dirty feet, dirty instruments/dirty work stations and OVERALL A DIRTY SALON.Furthermore, they can never find an Essie color that matches the gel manicure. Why do t you purchase like sets so customers can get both their manicure/pedicure with the same color. Is it really that hard of a concept.
Unfriendly staff, poor job on manicure and pedicure, and overpriced
Great service
Nice Enough
Did a bad job on my nails
