“I was worried about moving to New York because I didn’t think I’d find a wash &fold service as excellent as my current one. Mermaid has same day service at a $1 per pound and Marie kondo level folding.

I hate washing clothes. This place does it for me for a great price and quickly. So they are my new best friend. Go there for quick service and some amazing folding. They are better than doing wash in your own building......

I dont know where the other went to, but my experience has been different. The work done is ALWAYS perfect, and the owner is totally helpful. I have never had a problem, and am so glad that the repairs after the buildings fire are finally complete so that Mermaid is back in business. There is no other local laundry to compare to his service.

The best wash and fold / dry cleaning service I have ever used! Top quality service, best prices, nice owner, open early to late, and super convenient. Very lucky to live nearby!

I left my laundry for them to do, with my comforter, the man who was rude and said he had better customers to attend, charged me by the pound. When I went to pick up my laundry which I paid for in full the comforter was in a separate bag. When I put the comforter on my bed I realized it was not clean at all.

I love them!! They treat me like VIP... well I do laundry every other day. Maybe I am!!

We regularly drop off our laundry here and have been very happy with them. Be sure to give strict instructions about separation/temp if that matters to you.Also, the ladies in the morning are awesome, they do all the work. Make sure they get their tips by tipping when you drop off (if you drop off in the morning) and not when you pick up!

Ive lived all over Manhattan for 15 years and this is the worst cleaners Ive ever used. They ruined a pair of $300 jeans and blamed me for not picking them up the day before (insane) and they refused to do anything about it. Additionally they are overpriced.

They have lost my items twice with no explanation

Brand new sheets still in their packaging came back covered in rusty marks.When I took them back the gentleman said it was because his staff hadnt used bleach.I thought that sounded strange and checked the washing instructions which said do not bleach.I also asked him about a delicate top which had a food mark down the front and whether he had stain remover to get the stain out or if I had to go and buy my own.He looked at me like I was stupid and said the stain would come out in the wash itself, snatched the top out of my hand and poured about two cups of regular detergent all over the stain. The liquid dripped all over the top and the floor, there was a massive amount.The container of detergent he used was among those belonging to another customer at the front of the store and clearly marked with their name.He also said that I did not have to wash my darks and whites separately, even though I had new jeans among the load which had never been washed.

Good experience so far. They have their own equipment so dont need to send out.
