The amenities need closer attention. It was way too often that there were broken amenities that could not be used for extended periods of time. THESE ARE LITERALLY PART OF OUR RENT SO WE ARE PAYING FOR THINGS WE DONT EVEN HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO USE. The maintenance staff needs to be more consistent. We needed a washer and dryer door replaced for 8 months now and the staff never even knows what door it is thats needed. The security needs to be there every night, especially with crime rates being significantly higher now.

The Uncommon has nice apartments but their management is clueless. We were promised a $500 gift card upon lease signing in Aug 2020…..now it’s Aug 2021 and we are still waiting (even though we have reminded and asked repeatedly). I know of one apartment who had no working washing machine for a solid month with no explanation or discount. Another put in a work order back in November for a closet door and it still isn’t fixed. They charged us an extra month rent on auto pay and now say a refund will take 30-90 days…..shouldn’t AUTO pays AUTO stop when the lease is up? One would think. Asked office for corporate number - they didn’t have it. Asked why the auto charges couldn’t simply be reversed online - they didn’t know. For the cost of this place I would look elsewhere.

One of the maintenance guys slammed my girlfriend which makes me give this complex an automatic 3 stars. After all, it was probably in my best interest because she was no better than a 6 so I cant be too upset. Other than that the staff is very friendly and the individuals at the front desk have been extremely helpful. 3/5 star complex, would be 5 without the slamming.

I love living at Uncommon! There are a variety of places to study & the overall atmosphere is great. The location is convenient too-- super close to Dinkytown restaurants and shops.

This is the worst apartment complex around the University of Minnesota. From the unresponsive staff to the broken and closed amenities all the time. Everyday something new is broken (elevator, hot tub, laundry machines, dishwasher). There is also a huge lack of security. Every night when the office closes the homeless people flock to the Uncommon lobby and smoke cigarettes and illicit drugs. (attached a photo below). It is hard to feel safe in this apartment and the staff does not address the concerns about the safety. I would NEVER recommend this apartment complex to anyone I know.

Uncommon mismanaged covid response. Management refused to deal with matters of public health and the safety of the community. Countless violations went unpunished, no matter how many conversations took place with the staff. Amenities were locked up, yet still being paid for. No value was ever conferred to the lessees for their absence. Noise problems, dirty and damaged property are what you can expect with no recourse. I moved back in with my abusive parents to get out of this place.Despite the flashy exterior, the core values of this community are rotten.Look no further than the canned reply on this review.

My son had a terrible experience with UNCOMMON Dinkytown. None of the promised amenities were offered to him. Noise was a serious issue with loud music permeating from above, below, and from the halls at any time of night. Parties were rampant during the height of the pandemic. My son in particular had a terrible roommate experience - his roommates (randomly selected, non-student adults) illegally brought over many unhoused guests that stayed for weeks on end, violated the policies, and yet nothing was done. The management is inept, and quite frankly, the whole situation was unacceptable. Please do not go to UNCOMMON Dinkytown and save your money, time, and most importantly, your sanity.

Uncommon is a great place to live! The staff is always so kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend this apartment to any college students looking for a place to live.

Worst Apartment on Campus.The management is the worst Ive ever seen. From not responding to emails to shutting down many amenities with no communication to residents.The building is cheaply constructed. If you have a room on the courtyard you can hear EVERYTHING gong on, even if the people are not very noisy.Every 5 star review youve seen is because they pay residents to post them.

Its been great living here! The leasing office staff is beyond amazing and Im so happy to be living here. The amenities are better than any apartment in the area and the proximity to campus is unbeatable. Im definitely renewing!!!

SO far SO good! When I moved from colorado to minneapolis I didnt know anyone. Thanks to Uncommon I met some of my best friends and I am forever thankful!!!

Uncommon has been such a great place to live! I love the fact that everything was new and clean when I first moved in. The maintenance and staff have all been very attentive and helpful as well.

The staff is so attentive, best staff at any building in the area. The noise level is a little much on the weekends, but the amenities make up for it.

This is the worst apartment complex on campus, overcharged for a shoe box of an apartment and are making us pay for amenities that we cant even use. Very frustrated with the management and they dont communicate well.
