TLDR: Awesome views of the city and river. Walking distance with direct skyway access to all the recreation activities the city has to offer, (Guthrie theater, Target Field, U.S. Bank Stadium etc...) and a management team that is second to none.I have had the opportunity to live in a downtown setting in multiple large metros in the country, and The Churchill has been my best experience by far. I have been living at The Churchill for nearly a year now and I not only intend to stay, but am so happy with the location, price and how the building is managed I signed an 18 month lease. In my experience the community here has been welcoming, respectful and pet friendly. The rooftop pool and gym have an awesome view of the river and city, and they are enclosed so can be enjoyed 365 days a year.Last, but certainly not least, the building is managed excellently. Rent, utilities and parking options are all straightforward and very reasonable. All in all, Troy and his staff (shoutout to Pam!) have truly gone above and beyond every single time I have needed anything big or small.

The Churchill was one of the best places that I have ever lived. The entire building is always kept so clean by the amazing maintenance staff and any repair requests were ALWAYS finished in a timely manner. The leasing staff and front desk workers are the BEST :) They all take the time to really get to know you and every time I came home I was greeted with a smile and felt so cared for. They do things to make tenants feel special like leaving goodie bags by your door around major holidays and throwing resident get togethers to show their appreciation for the residents. By the end of my lease I felt like I had a second family at the Churchill. You will also get the best views of either the city or river when living here. Every unit has a very large balcony that overlooks downtown or the river and you simply will not find views like this in any other buildings downtown. The location is also great! You are close to WholeFoods, Trader Joes, Starbucks, and many cute shops around the downtown area. The North Loop is very walkable from the building so you get to experience North Loop living without the high cost. You are steps away from running and biking trails along the river and the Stone Arch Bridge + two farmers markets. The units themselves are also AMAZING! They are so spacious for the cost, include several closets that are huge, are well maintained, have tons of natural light, and have very nice updated kitchen appliances and fixtures. I did not have issues with noise from my neighbors and really enjoyed living here. The only reason that I ended up moving was because I wanted to have in unit washer and dryers. The building has a community laundry room on the first floor that is very clean and maintained for residents --> my preference was to have in unit, but if you do not mind this, then the Churchill is the place to be :)The building also has a great gym on the top floor that has an ample amount of workout equipment, including two Peloton bikes. There is an indoor pool and outdoor lounge on the top floor that has beautiful views of the city. After doing research on many different buildings downtown, I dont think that you will find a building that offers as much as the Churchill does with the same great price. I worked with Thmaris and Trevor in leasing and highly suggest reaching out to them if you are considering living here!

My husband and I have been tenants for over 2 years. Our initial move in was due to moving cross country from out of state for Job transfers. The Churchill staff worked with my parents to find the best possible apartment, handled all paperwork over email and accommodated our 3 am move in arrival time (we drove through a blizzard pushing the original move in timetable - snowed over-ha). We enjoyed our first year so much, that we signed a second lease on a larger apartment without hesitation. Upgrading to a two bedroom unit was truly a game changer. Cant beat the extra space during a pandemic.Lets talk pros:-Excellent staff! The Management team is top notch and beyond accommodating. The front desk Ladies are wonderful and always make me giggle. The maintenance and operations team truly care about keeping the machine moving and make me feel comfortable when entering our home for repairs, etc.-DOGS! Need I say more? As a proud owner of a LARGE breed dog and a mixed little nugget, the pet policy is next level awesome. Weve used the in-house dog wash room on several occasions and the poo bags are always stocked outside. I love seeing all the other tenant pups and enjoy how dog friendly the entire complex feels. Cats are welcome too - I think a few tenants walk theirs on leashes - ha!-Location, location, location. The Churchill really snagged the best block in Minneapolis. Both my husband and I feel safe walking our dogs at all hours. The extra green space is lovely in the summer. Skyway access, baby!-Flooring upgrade. Being able to have solid, wood-like floors throughout entire apartment was a no brainer. Absolutely love being able to keep the house clean and the look of zero carpet.-Package & Mail Room - The Management team and front desk Ladies organize ALL the packages to make it easier for tenants to find their items quickly. The mail room is spacious - 20 people could be collecting their mail and it would still feel like you had a ton of space to grab your items and go.-Ceiling height. Ive lived in a lot of apartments that boast tons of room, but then you get in a unit and you instantly feel like youre in a doll house. The room layout, full windows and ceiling height are akin to a swanky condo.-CLOSET SPACE. Do you like clothing? Do you have lots of things you want to hide? Are you a fan of having storage? The Churchill has the closet space for YOU. We have so much closet space that I had to buy more items to put inside said space. Obsessed.-Cleanliness. I swear the operations team is always cleaning. This is the cleanest place I have ever lived ever. The main areas always smell like cleaning products and you can tell the staff cares about the surrounding areas/their jobs/their tenants.-Pricing. You will get the best deal on parking/rent/pet rent at The Churchill. I have friends all over the twin cities and they cant believe the sqft to rent to location to view ratio.-Covid/Pandemic. The Churchill really went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt safe and secure during the initial / continued shut downs. They not only were accommodating to their tenants needs, but made sure the staff felt safe as well.My biggest regret in moving to The Churchill is that now, when shopping for houses, I cant find anything I love more than our current unit layout/location/lighting/friendly faces/etc. Churchill - why are you so great?!(Cons have been added as images as I have run out of characters for this post. The Cons should be taken lightly as the Pros shine bright)

Moving from TN to MN, Churchill apartment was a wonderful place to stay. Specifically their 2 patio apartments having both city view and the river side view at the same time. The apartments have lots of closet space and good enough space to set all your furniture in. It a wonderful view from the apartment while you sip a nice cup of coffee or enjoy the snow. Kitchen is very spacious and lots of cabinets. The Churchill management are very welcoming and lovely people. Special thanks to Jamie to help in a seamless transition to our new home here. Trevor and Jamie make a great team providing best tenant services and organizes lot of events for the tenants. The apt maintenance services are prompt and diligent and well managed through their property manager app. I have lived here for almost 2 years and had a great experience. They managed the COVID situation very well. The apt has good security and feels safe compared to other apt in Minneapolis downtown. Less noise pollution of the city as it’s closer to the river. It’s a great place to live in.

I have loved my time living at Churchill! We looked at a lot of the apartment buildings in the downtown area and they had, by far, one of the friendliest staffs. We are going to miss the incredible views of the city/river, and having great access via the skyway. We are also going to miss being able to walk to the North Loop, being able to walk to Gold Medal Park and the Stone Arch Bridge, and walk across the Hennepin bridge over to Northeast Minneapolis. The rooms are a nice size and the balconys are very spacious. We loved having free surface level parking and how dog friendly the building is. If you are looking for a place to live in downtown Minneapolis the Churchill is a great spot!

You get what you pay for with Churchill. There is a day care literally in the parking lot. If you live on the river side of the building you WILL hear kids screaming nonstop from 7am until 5:30pm every day. There was also never-ending construction noise. Whether it is from the inside from them doing the constant repairs on the deteriorating building or from the exterior wall repairs that were ongoing over the entire term of my lease, there was always something. They conveniently must have forgotten to tell me about these major repairs before I signed my lease.A close friend who still lives there has recently been restricted access to his balcony (also not disclosed before signing his lease) due to these still ongoing repairs. There were a solid few months where only two elevators were operational. For a building with 30 floors, this was a nightmare. Some of the front desk workers are very nice, but others should not be employed. Numerous times I would get packages delivered on the weekend, but the weekend workers would never put it in their system. After a few complaints to management this was resolved, but the man who works the front desk most nights would never wear a mask, even during in the peak of the pandemic in 2020.If you like dogs, there are plenty here. If you dont, I would stay away. I am a dog owner and that factored heavily into choosing this place. However, the other dog owners dont seem to care about picking up after their dog is done doing its business.. and neither did management.Use your best judgement, but I am incredibly happy I moved out. My new place is much nicer, quieter, has better management/maintenance, and is cheaper..

The Churchill Apartments is the best place we have lived. The building is everything we have wanted, and the management is responsive and professional. RMK Management is a top-notch group. They have answered all questions and concerns promptly and efficiently. The amenities and common areas are kept clean and clear. The four elevators work, which is something our previous place with only two elevators couldnt seem to figure out! The view, of course, is phenomenal. However, its the PEOPLE at Churchill who make this an incredibly delightful place to live! Thankyou all!

If you’re thinking about moving in... DONT. I’m not jumping to giving a “one star” review for just one simple mistake. The building Itself is a disaster, my first week moving in the ceiling ended up collapsing on me and flooded the whole apartment, not just mine either. Every floor above and below did too! Mind you this isn’t the first time it’s happened either with this building. I really can’t stress enough on how much management doesn’t care. I asked MULTIPLE times for them to speak to my neighbors about a noise complaint, they told me they would handle it and nothing ever changed. For me what really puts the cherry on the icing is the cockroaches.. that’s right, cockroaches. I’m not ashamed of saying that I’m a complete clean freak so cockroaches in my unit is very concerning. When I brought this to their attention they sent an exterminator right away, the exterminator told us the issue is in multiple units as well! They started with laying traps around and told us they would be back to check them out later in the week. They never came back, I have emails from management stating they would! the issue continued to get worse while I did everything I could to resolve the issue myself. I mentioned to management again that an exterminator never came and I would like to break my lease this time. Management literally had us move out of our apartment for a week and let us stay in a “suit” they had so an exterminator could fumigate our unit. That whole week of living out of bags only for them to tell us they weren’t fumigating because “the issue isn’t bad enough” so they refused to let my fiancé and I break the lease too. A whole week of games, what was the point of us moving units then? Upper management Troy is a nightmare. I feel bad for the guy who hired him on to be lead because that man is running the whole complex into the ground. If you want to be treated poorly and pay $1,600+ a month while your at it then this will be the perfect place for you. I can’t express and stress enough to any future residents to just forget it. don’t let all the amenities per-sway you into a horrible decision.

Let me start off by saying that The Churchill is actually one of the few tallest residential buildings left in Downtown Minneapolis. It has many great amenities and luxury renovations despite its age. I have been here for over a year and I can say with confidence that you would love calling The Churchill your home as you have connected skyways, shops and breathtaking views. People complain about Management but I feel that anywhere you live, you’ll complain or find something to complain about. I have had issues but I never let that get in the way of the actual living experience here. Work orders were always done fast, packages are secure, security is on point and Staff is always helpful. This building is about 33 stories high with 370+ units, so I think Management is doing the best they can for a residence this large. You cannot judge a residence, restaurant or anything based on one issue or moment, you should look at the experience as a whole. Overall, I am making a review based on my living experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking for their new home.

I lived in the Churchill for about 5 years. Safe building and community. Clean building with attentive staff.Pros - you cant beat the views and the size of the balconies. Even when its cold, its still nice to look at the views through the big sliding glass doors or from bed. Great location to river and St Anthony Main jogging, biking, walk trails, restaurants. Thick concrete floors and walls. I dont think Ive ever heard my neighbors. Nice community - mostly professionals that work downtown and retired people. Nice size units. Well maintained with minimal maintenance issues. Tons of closet storage. Its connected to the SkyWay. Safe area and building. Never any criminal issues.Cons - Theres no washer/dryer in unit but its not bad because theres a very large laundromat in the building that is well maintained and safe/secure. Its kind of nice to get 3 loads done at the same time.

Been meaning to write this for a while.I have literally nothing bad to say about this place. Ive been living here for almost a year now and the management, staff, and building itself are exceptional to say the least. Some things that come to mind:- Building is cleaned daily, they keep the hallways and lobbies shiny and smelling good!- They are constantly sorting packages making it easy for you to get your packages securely and quickly.- They go out of their way to make sure you get your deliveries (Ive had front desk folks bring deliveries and packages up to my apartment without even asking).- They take security seriously: unless youre a resident or being checked in by a resident, your chances of getting in are slim.- Maintenance is always on top of things and responsive to requests, even non-urgent ones are quickly dealt with.- Overnight security and front desk folks are just the best, they help with anything you need and are prompt.- The apartment itself is a really good deal for the location and amenities. I constantly wonder how the heck they get by with how little I pay for my large apartment, parking spot, and usage of the gym/pool/sauna/etc.I could list things for another hour, but the biggest selling point for me has been the management and office team. Those folks are easily some of the best I have ever dealt with in an apartment building. First, they go out of their way and stop everything they are doing when I contact them with a concern. I have not had 1 request or concern for them that that not didnt get quickly address or where they didnt go above and beyond my expectations.A recent example is my apartment had some water leaking due to an AC unit in the apartment above. Unfortunately, someone ran their AC and kept the patio door open letting in hot hair, which created so much condensation the drain pan filled and started leaking. When I contacted maintenance, they quickly came up and made a plan to deal with the situation. When I contacted management, they went out of their way and above my expectations to not only ensure maintenance did it right, but also to send other folks to rip out carpet, clean the mess, dry everything for me and even shampoo the entire carpet. The leak was only a 5x5 foot spot and they sent up someone to clean the entire place. So great! This place is awesome and I highly encourage you to take a tour, and if you live here, just contact management and I guarantee they will help you.P.S. I have no affiliation with these folks, I did not get anything to write this, I did this completely out of my own will to show others how great this place is.

I have lived at the Churchill for 3.5 years. We just moved out since we bought a condo. Our experience at the Churchill was positive. There has been a turnover in staff during the time we lived there, but the crew they have in the front office now is fantastic! They were always friendly towards my husband and I. We lived in 3 different apartments in the building, spending the last 3 years in 2 different apartments on the 24th floor. The views on the river side are spectacular, and we loved the balconies in the summer. There is a lot of storage space in the units we had and the utility expense was very low. The housekeeping staff were the same 4 people during the entire 3.5 years and they worked tirelessly and consistently keeping the building and grounds clean and orderly. The maintenance staff fixed any problems we had (that were very few) usually within hours of being notified. We also loved the convenience of being on the river, near all the offerings of downtown, the north loop and the northeast. We leave the Churchill with only happy memories!!!

I moved here after owning a home for 25 years. I should have moved here a few years earlier! The staff from top to bottom are terrific. Leasing staff, security, front desk, maintenance all provide first rate service. My move into my apt and getting settled has been seamless because of the staff. Communication is transparent and timely.I was concerned about traffic noise, (My apt is about half way up) and it has not been a problem. That tells me the building construction and windows are built to minimize noise. I also do not hear anyone next to me or above me. One evening I noticed a stain on the hallway carpet and a light out. Both were fixed by the time I returned home the next day.The apartments are bright, plenty of windows that brings the views of the skyline into my living room. A big plus is that all the windows open to bring in fresh air. Phenomenal amount of closet space with an additional storage room off the bathroom. Balconies are huge and offer an a unique opportunity to sit 4 people comfortably. The Churchill is a great place to call home. My only complaint is that no one helped me unpack my boxes!

The staff has many community building events throughout each moth. We have game nights, wine tastings, Halloween costume parties, Valentine events, BBQs and community outings at venues throughout the downtown area to support the businesses of our proud neighborhood. I had a good experience living here and the staff were always helpful and friendly. For example, they always greeted me by name. Not sure how they managed that with so many people in the building. My only complaint was noise from the emergency sirens on Washington St as they could have better windows. Also, the building AC unit made my bedroom unlivable as I was on the 29th floor, but I was already moving and Im ultra sensitive to low frequency noise. I lived in Churchil few years ago for nearly 2 years.Pros:- The apartment is spacious- It comes with a balconyCons:- The staff were not friendly.- The ancillary charges you end up paying are more. So don’t be distracted by just seeing the rent amount- For adding/removing person in lease, they charge a hefty amount (compared to all other places I’ve lived in. I’ve lived in 3 different states)- The AC unit is not controlled. You just have an ON/OFF switch. In the apartment I used to stay, the hall will remain hot but the bedroom will get very cold. The same goes with heater controls too as it’s the same vents.- The charging for water is not based on any metered reading. So they give you a random number based on square foot- You always end up waiting for the elevator. Also the laundry room is mostly crowded and comes with an additional charge- The free parking is mostly not available and is not something which you can rely on- Expect a hefty move out chargeWe also had multiple water leaks from swimming pool when we were staying. When I moved to MN, many of my colleagues were staying in Churchill. I didn’t have much time to do my research and ended up leasing a house there. But to be honest there are other better options for the rent you pay. There are lot of condos available in downtown (probably much closer to your workplace) which will not upcharge you. The one I live now comes with water, heat, trash, cable and laundry all included in rent.P.S: The manager office used to have a certificate which says that Churchill earns more amount per square feet than other apartment in their chain. Something to think about for the renter

This is the first time I have actually written a review online for an apartment community Ive lived in, but my experience at The Churchill warranted some recognition. I have lived here for 2 years now, and am looking at signing a lease for another year. I have been beyond pleased with my experience the past 2 years. When I first moved to this building, it was kind of a last minute option. I had toured the building in the past but ended up pursuing other options. When I finally did sign a lease here, I was excited. It was my first 1BR apartment alone, not living with a roommate. The location was prime - youre close to the North Loop, Northeast, and the downtown core, yet you still feel tucked away in your own little neighborhood by the river. Plus it is fairly quiet here, considering youre right downtown. I have a unit on the 27th floor, facing the downtown skyline. The view from my balcony is amazing, some of the best sunset views from up here! The first year I lived here, there were some changes in management. I think the constant change led to some things slipping through the cracks. But since the current management team stepped in, things have been great! Troy, Trevor, and the whole team are courteous, professional, and accommodating. They have worked with me on numerous occasions, each time coming up with an option that was best for me as the renter. They are also really good about planning community engagement events, and bringing new and fun things to The Churchill that I havent seen here before, like mini markets, discounts to local businesses for residents, etc.The community areas are kept clean (the gym, hallways, business center, etc), and their maintenance staff is quick to fix any issues in your apartment, no matter how large or small. My microwave tray stopped spinning one time, and they replaced the whole thing with a brand new microwave the next day. I had some flooring pieces bowing up due to temperature changes, they fixed that right away too. Everything is handled professionally and quickly.Overall, if youre looking for a great value downtown, consider The Churchill. Yes, it is an older building, but that adds an element of charm to it. The residents are quiet (never had an issue with loud neighbors), you have easy access to everything downtown (and it is skyway connected!), and the management is great. Compared to other 1BR prices downtown, the rent ranges on 1BR units here are very affordable, considering what you get for the money. Im happy Ive lived here for 2 years, and looking forward to another one.

If you are visiting or renting here, be prepared to be DISCRIMINATED, UNWELCOMED, AND, NOT TREATED FRIENDLY. The staff in the morning is just AWFUL. The woman who sits at the front desk in the morning is no help, she is so rude and so disrespectful. She makes you feel like youre doing everything wrong when again youre just a renter or a visitor. The blonde woman who sits on the very first desk at the office is certainly NO BETTER. She carries an attitude that is very unpleasant. She will make you feel like you arent a welcomed visitor or renter. DO NOT VISIT OR RENT HERE. The staff in the morning need to change their appearances and stop being so unfriendly.

We like the Churchill! We signed a short term lease in June during the construction of our new home. Great staff, great location! Accommodating and flexible to meet our temporary housing needs.

I have been living in churchill since few months now and never thought about another place in downtown! The office is very responsive especially Jamie and Trever never hesitated to help us when needed.

Great place to live. Its in the heart of downtown and convenient to WholeFoods and a lot of other restaurants. The concrete walls are really helpful if you have noisy neighbors. Also if youre a public transportation commuter, you have a choice of taking the express bus to get to the other end of downtown quickly (the bus stop on the side where the convenient store is located) or the bus stop across the street by the Towers Apartments. The bus ride is only 50 cents to travel within downtown because youre technically still located in the downtown zone.

This is a fun and inexpensive place to live if you want to be downtown. Its close enough to everything to walk, connected to the skyway, and I found the office staff (Alicia, Trevor, and David especially) to be super friendly and easy to work with.

This is the worst worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. I cant recommend anyone sign a lease here.In my 12 months of living here the following issues have occurred: water damage in apartments and common areas and elevators have been in repair for about 2 months . in my bedroom water is leaking from ceiling three times in 12 months for three months. they gave me bucket to handle the water drops from ceiling in bedroom, it was not yet fixed. It just doesnt end with this place and managements answer for everything is to deal with it and asked me to claim insurance and finally when i complained to regional head at least she agreed to terminate my lease.Contact me and I will gladly go into detail about why people shouldnt live here!

I really dont know anything about the management, I just have an experience with Marlin. When I tried to get leasing information the guy was rude, arrogant and I felt discrimination on his voice tone. I ran away from that place, there was a lady before him and she was quite nice with me. She gave me info and told me there were two apartment available, but Marlin said nothing was available. Stay away from this place.

The managers here are condescending and do not care about you. I was trying to move my stuff out down the freight elevator and through the garage. The 2 managers are inside the garage smoking up a storm. I do not wish to inhale your smoke while I am moving. This is a public place. They should be smoking outside. When I asked whether they should be smoking in here they replied we are managers, we can smoke here if we want. Then followed me to the elevator and said what do you care, you are just the movers. Wow. I am a human being. Thanks for treating me like one. They are lucky I didnt report them for smoking inside a public area.

I cannot say enough great things about The Churchill! From the moment I came in for my first showing, until today I have been completely impressed with the level on hospitality and customer service from the management! I believe that Ken Shortridge property manager, has definitely done a fabulous job of building an excellent team to maintain the building, and take very good personal care of each tenant.

Great spot to live. Views are phenomenal, location is amazing. The place smells pretty bad, and when an elevator is down it takes forever to get up.

Let me start with the good stuff. Its location, nothing else. What I disliked, was the temperament of the staff. Absolutely horrible and unpleasant experience interacting with the staff. Not everyone is like that, but some are, who will harass you to death. They dont understand that their job is to help people, not lie and harass people. After all, some people really suck at doing their jobs. They dont know how to keep their clients and customers happy so that they would consider staying longer. After office hours, you think about going home and relax, and they make sure that you dont feel at home.

Took a tour with the leasing agent named Ebony. She was the absolute highlight of the experience! We enjoyed the property, especially the pool, views and balconies. If you ever plan a tour of this building, I really recommend, Ebony.

This is by far the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. In good faith, I cant recommend anyone sign a lease here.In my 6 months of living here the following issues have occurred: pool was closed for 2 months, water damage in apartments and common areas (required weeks of repair equipment and repair staff in hallways, elevators, common areas, etc.), laundry room was unusable for 2 weeks, 2 or 3 of the 4 elevators have been in repair for about 2 months (imagine having 31 floors of apartments using 1 elevator...) and now the heat and hot water are not working. It just doesnt end with this place and managements answer for everything is to deal with it.Feel free to contact me and I will gladly go into more detail about why you shouldnt live here! Have a great day.EDIT: I would like to add that that the staff have always been friendly and professional through all of this. This review is not a reflection on them at all.

The best apartment to live in, if you work in Downtown. Easy commute to work by walking in skyway. metro transit bus stops are literally few steps away from the main entrance. USPS, Library are located close to the building. Apartments are spacious. Maintenance staff provides the response in 24 to 48hrs, which is super awesome. I like the new agents in the team. I am staying here since Jan2017. I have had problems with old agents / property managers with move-in. New recruits are great!!! Traver / Allicia & Front desk is always ready to help in their capacity. lot of time washer / dryer area has a leakage / not working units . Garage parking is expensive (because its downtown). I like the river view!!! Theater system is awesome. Love to play games / watch movie on big screen. Their socials for residents are good. I dont like the billing system about AC / Heater (Add all apt + common area & then it gets divided). Because i know my usage is comparatively low then others and for about 60 - 80days in a year, my apartment is not occupied. But i still have to pay heavy $. I wish the billing was more of individual unit + common area. No ceiling fans.

I called the office to ask about leasing information (Also I met them last week and had the same experience). I have been enquiring the same with other apartments and was getting a positive response. Only reponse that I am getting from churchill is that Untill you apply I dont see a point in answering to your questions. The management should decide if the application process which requires 65$ application fee is to check the residence eligibility or to provide answers for basic questions. I dont think anyone would want to move in without getting answers for their questions.Anyways Please let me know if you have answers.
