I have lived at the Marbella on Dean since April 2021 and I can confidently say that this is one of the best apartment experiences I have had. The grounds are lovely and the location is perfectly in the middle of everything while still being hidden away from the hustle and bustle. Youre SURROUNDED by lakes and paths for any adventure you could desire. The staff has been great, specifically Amy who helped me with leasing and has continued to be such a warm and inviting presence in the building. She is a sweetheart of a woman and has made me feel comfortable and cared for at every step. Maintenance are great guys that have continually been reliable and quick to remedy any issue that arises. The building is modern and the gym and pool are a huge plus! 10/10 would recommend the Marbella on Dean to anyone on the hunt for some lake living!

All of those who are employed with Marbella work incredibly hard to make our housing experience top-notch. I am regularly impressed with the timeliness, support, and devotion from building administrators (Amy and Ryan are incredible!), maintenance, and custodial services for any needs or requests that arise. Weidner is incredibly fortunate, as are we as residents. Oh, and the location cant be beat if you want to enjoy the lakes of Minneapolis!

I’ve only been living here for about a month but, so far, it’s been a great experience. I love the amenities (well-maintained common areas, pool, work-out room/equipment, grills, etc.) and the location is fantastic- it’s off the main path and tucked away so much quieter than living right on Lake but it’s still close to restaurants, bars, stores, lakes- all the stuff Uptown has to offer. The building is well-maintained and clean, and the staff has been amazing. The staff (especially Amy and Ryan) is responsive and professional but still friendly- it seems as though they really take the time to get to know the residents on a human level (as opposed to a purely management-tenant relationship). I love seeing Amy and chatting with her on my way in or out! I highly recommend checking out Marbella on Dean- great quality, great staff, great location!

Ive been a resident here for just over 2 years and really have nothing but great things to say. The rent is incredibly well priced considering the surrounding area. Amenities include a full gym, indoor swimming pool, a club room with pool table as well as a hot tub. Ive had 2 small maintenance issues that were handled promptly (one was late on a Friday night). The office staff are really professional and take a huge lead in remaining engaged with the community through events, promotions and a friendly face every time you walk through the door. I would highly recommend taking a look here if you are seeking to rent... You wont regret giving this building a shot!

I have lived here for just under a year and disappointed it has come to writing this review. When we moved in we had an overall good experience but since that time there have been nothing but problems. We had a bike stolen from the 2nd level of the locked garage. Because there was supposed to be video cameras in the garage we reached out to get the footage. Before we even sent pictures or the location of the bike they told us they couldnt find footage. The next issue was in maintaining the amenities. First of all IF YOU ARE RENTING HERE FOR THE AMENITIES LOOK ELSEWHERE! They were constantly broken! The hot tube, which was a big motivator of why we moved here over another apartment, has been broken the entire time we have been here, and at least 6 promised deadlines have been missed. The grills and other details around the property (weights missing, fish tank broken, outdoor firepit broken) have also been broken for months. This would be something I could try to get over, but when I asked for a date when these would be fixed I was told, that I have not liked many things about this apartment and that I could vacate in 60 days if I so choose if not stop complaining. The management has completely brushed off every question I have had regarding this simple fixes and has notified me that I do not pay for the amenities I pay for my unit only. So like I said dont rent here for any extras they are not worth it! This place could be so nice if they could figure out how to maintain it and be professional.

Overall stay so far has been great. There was a management change but I have really enjoyed the new management. They seem engaged and attentive which I appreciate. I love my apartment, it’s nice and modern. Location is amazing; close to lakes and plenty of restaurants to walk to. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because the spa has been broken for probably 6 months now on and off. Which makes the pool useless as well during the entire winter. At this point it would have been quicker to put in a whole new spa if the damages are that bad. We pay a high prices to be here one of the big reasons I’m willing to do this is because of the amenities. I’m hoping this will be taken care of soon because other than this, I think the complex is perfect for me.

Management was super nice and attentive. I have nothing but great things to say about Marcus, Grace, and Amy. In my opinion, the price is too high. The location is fantastic but for the size of the apartment, lack of amenities (they are there, just not open. i.e. the hot tub has been “broken” for almost the entire 15 months i lived there), and extra costs for parking and utilities, i couldn’t justify the cost.

I lived at Lake Calhoun Flats for 5 years in multiple different units. I was so sad to leave, and the only reason I did is relocating for work. The rent is very reasonable compared to the community value, and the location is simple unbeatable! It is located right near trails, the chain of lakes, and lots of fun businesses, easy access to main highways and just a jaunt from downtown. You are right near the city but feel very close to nature. The Weidner staff that most recently took over are amazing - so responsive, communicative and friendly. This apartment is expensive. The cost to live here would be worth it if the management was at all responsive, but they’re not. There is NO accountability for accessible parking for residents, proper working of amenities, cleanliness of amenities, and cleanliness of the grounds surrounding the apartment building (dog friendly). I moved here in July from Duluth, and if I could go back and make a new decision for an apartment home, then I would. I know I’ll be getting out as soon as I can. Requests and feedback from residents are not taken seriously by management. Also, the apartment windows are outdated and lack any insulation. My unit had a serious mold infestation that caused illness. When a work order was put in to fix the mold, after I spent hours cleaning it myself, the problem was not fixed, and the framing of the window continues to absorb moisture, get moldy, swell, and fall off.

Ive lived at Calhoun Flats for 15 months. I couldnt ask for a better building to live in. Its generally very quiet and clean. The facilities (pool, gym, community room) are always available for use and rarely very busy. Do not move here!! Stolen items from locked room night before moving out! This complex is way overpriced for what you get, I have lived here now for a year and have never been more excited to move out. First off, the parking situation is just embarrassing. Lake Calhoun Flats does not own the parking garage attached and they only have limited spots for residents. They promised me a parking spot within the first month of me moving in and I did not get a spot for 3 months and most often I had to park many blocks away. Ive sent emailed complaints about cigarette smoke in my vents from my neighbor since October and nothing was done about until this past month and the smoke now continues to happen. I have asthma and there have been days where I cant even stay in my room. The doors are constantly held open by chairs in the office and pool area, allowing anyone to access the building after hours. I felt completely unsafe living here. Upon move out I had 1 box left to take with that was sealed up in my closet. I made sure to lock my door because of this and when I went back to check at 11am on move out day the box had been opened and over $100 worth of items were gone. There are also no cameras in the hallways.Bottom line, stay far away from this place.

Since moving here a year ago it’s been a disaster with the constant construction. First it was taking out the balcony in my apartment, then the building going up next door, now the construction on the street in front of where you pull into the building. The parking situation is a mess like others have stated. We have to pay for a parking spot that a majority of the time can’t even get into because of the oversized trucks sticking out of the spots parked in the garage leaving no room for me to pull into it. Not to mention it took 3 months after moving in to even get one and my car was towed 3 times! Also I’ve had to call maintenance multiple times for appliances in my apartment that break or stop working just for them to fix it and only have the same issues happen a couple months later.

This place is pretty MEH..Lake Calhoun Flats is updated but cheaply updated. great location with the lakes, the greenway, uptown nearby but again wishing i knew better before signing and id pay a little more to live at a much better place a block away. Lake Calhoun Flats has extremely thin walls. you can hear your neighbors and also the construction outside. This week alone I have been woken up or not able to take work calls from home because our buildings construction work and the workers talking is loud right outside my door and windows starting around 7am. Not to mention the only driveway in is hidden and with massive potholes from the building torn down in front of us that is building new apartments. there is minimal parking available and tons of cars illegally parked in front of the entrance and some blocking exits. In the winter - the snow is not always addressed immediately and having a lower car at times I was not able to get in or get out. Also- Uber and friends coming over will struggle to find Lake Calhoun Flats. cant see the apartment from street and poor signage. If you enjoy the smell of marijuana in the halls- you will like this place. i made the mistake of signing a 14 month lease so I am stuck here until 2020. miserable experience. i gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the building staff is mostly pleasant.

Living in Lake Calhoun Flats has been nothing but a wonderful experience. Im going into my second year living there, and my fiancee is on his third. Living right on Lake Calhoun and the Greenway is perfect, you cannot beat the living space for what youre paying, and youre only a few steps away from Uptown. Not to mention the buildings staff members are fantastic. Belinda and Brad in the leasing office are both very helpful and extremely friendly. They know all of the buildings residents and treat them like friends and family, and if anything goes awry, they are quick to remedy the situation. And the maintenance men are equally as great, always fixing and replacing things as fast as they can. Its a great place to live!

This complex may only be appealing for students whose families can afford the rent, and not at all for young professionals. Within my unexceptionally long residency here, I sadly witnessed the decline to an undergraduate dormitory. Very young, irresponsible, rude and loud neighbors who even would happily smoke in the smoke-free apartments and the garage area... Reaching the management for basic inquiries is yet another ordeal. For example, I havent been able to get an answer to my numerous inquiries about why my security deposit is assumed $150 lower than what my rent suggested, for a month now -- and still waiting for a manager to look into the discrepancy. The move-out was another adventure, where some of my fellow neighbor kids had to block the loading dock at the very time of our reservation, and no one to assist was present at the office (day time, within office hours). The only 5+ star service here is provided by the maintenance team, who were always there to help, especially at tough times as above during the move-out (and I dont think that any of it was within their official duties). Long story short, think twice if you are a young professional looking for a professionally managed complex.

We have lived here 5 months and in that time have had to evacuate the building 4 times due to things like a tire burnout session in the parking garage, bursting water pipes and the resulting repair work (drywall dust).I have witnessed residents passed out in the halls two times, which is great when you have small kids to explain this to. The garage doors frequently dont work - and neither do the elevators. The garage door noise is terrible and is a shared space with the attached office complex not to mention you get to pay $$.Very little storage is located in the facility and virtually no place to take your dogs if you have them. The garbage cans are usually overflowing. I dont completely blame the facility for this as there are plenty of lazy slobs that live here who dont know what a trash shoot is - or how to use one. Then there is the mold/moisture issues in the apartments. When we brought the moisture/coldness issue up to the management and staff (puddles on the floor), we were told we would need to take care of it ourselves (plastic window film). I have had to spray bleach around our windows several times to try and minimize the mold growth. My suggestions for this place: 1. Include parking and give your residents prime reserved locations, not the office wahoos. 2. Replace the windows 3. Empty the garbage cans on a daily basis and put cameras in the trash room and remind those who dont know how to use them. 3. Screen your residents a little better (HINT: if they dont have a real job and mom/dad are footing the bill then it is highly doubtful they will have any respect for the building or others living in it) 4. Redo the .5 baths and make them 1.5s as they are wasted space. 5. Expand the useable terrace space.
