About 2 years ago my husband and I purchased a used Subaru Forester (2015) after he hit a deer with his car. When it came time for me to purchase a new car, we knew we wanted another Subaru! We visited Waikem and received excellent service and attention from our salesman, Paris Ball! The process was smooth and easy - my only disappointment being that I couldnt leave with my #1 color choice. Paris was great about checking all over to see if he could find it and I think he felt as bad as I did! The dealership threw in a few perks at no charge to help make up for it. All in all, I am LOVING my 2021 Subaru Forester! Its a vehicle that I feel completely safe driving and know well have it for many, many years to come.

I want to start this review by saying that my husband and I have not had a brand new vehicle since 1994. I had two previous Subaru’s and have wanted an Outback for a few years, but being newly retired and adjusting to a new budget, a new car was the last thing on our minds. An unfortunate accident changed all that. Thankfully, no one was injured but our Jeep was totaled. We were so not looking forward to all the sales pitches and price haggling and were ready to accept the fact that we may not be able to afford a new car and may need to just walk away.I knew our car mechanic had purchased two Subaru’s from Waikem and called him to recommend a sales representative. As it turned out, that rep had retired, and we were set up with Marc Douglas. He was very personable, knowledgeable, and we did not feel pressured at all. He took time in explaining all the features the Outback has to offer, answered all our questions, and best of all, it fit our budget. We drove our new car home that night. My wife and I recently purchased her first Subaru (21 Forester premium) from Rick and the team at Waikem Subaru. Rick made the month long process very simple and straightforward! We had to order it as it was in transit from Subaru when we first came across the listing on their website. I went to Waikem Subaru to look. I had read that they were one of the safest cars to drive, and at my older age, this was important. I also wanted a car that I could see out of without having to sit on a cushion. I explained to the salesman, Rick Spieth, an idea of what I wanted and he had me drive two different versions of the Subaru. There was no salesman pressure. I decided on the car, and then the features I wanted. My car was in transit, and as soon as it was available, I went to pick it up. Rick made sure that I understood the features of the car. He went over all the settings and made sure they were set where I wanted. He even offered to come to my house and set my garage door opener if my husband or I couldn’t get it set. All the staff at Waikem were friendly and knowledgeable. They even set me up an appointment to return to re-review all the features in a couple of weeks. Most dealers would just say thank you, take my money, shake my hand, and send me on the way. Not Waikem Subaru, And not Rick Spieth. I am totally impressed and will recommend him, and Waikem Subaru, to any of my friends Interested in an excellent, very safe, car.

What an experience! Every staff member we talked to even just in passing was so friendly and polite. We worked with Dennis Kryder and I got the car of my dreams! He made the whole process so smooth and simple, time flew while we were there and I was out there door on on the road in my new Forester before I knew it. I met with Dan Auman to test drive a Subaru Outback. I have been reading many reviews on different cars, trying to make the best decision on a car purchase. I was thinking about purchasing a new Outback,but ended up driving a 2020 Outback Touring model that had low miles on it. It was a joy to drive. I ended up purchasing it. The best part was Dan’s knowledge on how the display panel operated. Dan did a thorough job explaining the features of it in detail. He also showed me some other features I was unaware of, like to he windshield visor and how it slides to block the sun where needed. My car buying experience was much better than I anticipated.

I went to Waikem because my daughter had such a great experience getting her car a couple of years ago with them. I had pretty much picked out a car I was interested in on their website and made an appointment, I was introduced to Marc Douglas and he arranged for me to test drive a couple of cars including the one I picked online, answered all of my questions helped me get all of my stuff together for my financing and get my trade in taken care of. I did end up getting the one I originally picked online but it was a great experience. I did have a couple of issues and called Marc and he helped me out with them and everything was right as rain. This was our first time at Waikem Subaru. My wife and I looked at a used Forester, hesitated and it sold. On May 1st, I bought a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek with the help of Dennis Kryder and Erik Bettinger. I cannot stress enough how nice these two gentlemen are and how honest and accommodating they were. I started this purchasing process 2,000 miles away and over the course of a week I was able to collect all the information I needed to make a confident purchase. When I flew in and went to see the car, it was in phenomenal shape for a great deal. Erik and Dennis definitely resonated the Subaru = Family mantra and by that I mean absolutely no gimmicks and no hassle. The drive off the lot price I was given over the phone was the one I paid when I drove that car home. Everyone I met was very nice and I couldnt be happier with the purchase. Its been almost two weeks since my purchase and Ive called Dennis a couple times to just ask some specific questions regarding different features in the car and he has been very helpful each time. Marc Douglas was extremely helpful in getting my 19 year old daughter a car that we feel comfortable having her in. He listened well to our concerns, where we wanted to be payment wise, tolerated a very bored 8 year old, and delivered. The additional Waikem staff we met during the entire purchasing process, was similar to Eriks professionalism and honest concern that we were satisfied with our Outback. We never felt like we were under attack when we walked through the door as one may feel at a mega dealership. Not one complaint and we plan to visit Waikem when were in the market for our next Subaru.

Went looking for a forester or an outback. Talked to Rick Spieth and he made me feel like getting a Subaru was the best idea I could of had. Ended up getting an Outback. Love it. Took it in to get the TST coating applied and when I picked it up noticed a problem with the application. Told Dustin Shahan the sales manager about it and he immediately made an appointment to get it fixed. Very professional and quick when I needed something done. Will probably get another Subaru in 10-15 years form them.

Dan Auman was wonderful to work with!Pros: I bought a beautiful used Subaru from a trustworthy salesman who would I would buy from a hundred times over!Cons: the 2 reasons this experience didnt get a 5 star rating: financing- I had asked to go through my hometown bank and was told that is who our financing was being set up through, but instead was sent through a different bank without disclosing. Secondly, I had been told the car went through a thorough inspection, but it needed the rotors replaced before the week was up. This is an expensive purchase for an already pricey SUV.

Rick Spieth took care of us and insured I got the color I wanted, the staff was very nice and made the process a breeze. This is the first dealership I have been to that I actually enjoyed and walked away without any questions. If you are interested in a Subaru, I highly recommend going here!

Leased a Forester back in 2016 for 3 1/2 years. My wife is not a big fan of leasing but it was the only way to get a new car payment under $200 per month. We were allowed 12,000 miles per year but ultimately put on a total of a little over 14,000 miles for the 3 1/2 years. As the time approached to turn in the car we decided on a used vehicle because in the end a lease is a waste of money. The manager at Waikem Subaru personally inspected our car when we came in back in December and told both my wife and I that we had built up $500.00 in equity in the vehicle. And he stated this in front of another employee. A couple of weeks later we had found her a decent used car and began the process of terminating our lease. When we brought the Forester back the same manager looked it over again and now stated that Subaru was going to buy the vehicle from us ( a vehicle we never owned) and we could expect a check in the mail for $200.00 (no longer the $500 in equity we had) he explained that if Subaru had not purchased the car back...we would have had a bill to pay of over $400.00. (Again..this was a car with a total of 14,000 miles. Essentially brand new.) And we would have owed money??? he stated it was because of a Dispersion fee. And when I asked what that was he said that Subaru charges to have an inspector come evaluate the car (which they never did...the manager did it right there.) And...it was also for acquiring the car back which would now be ....wait for it....auctioned off!!! really?? A 3 1/2 year old car is going to be auctioned?? I dont think so! This car will be put right back on the lot and sold used for almost full price. Fast forward to today when I call on the phone and asked about the check for $200 that HE said was coming in the mail and he blatantly lies to us and states he never said that and proceeds to do the usual car salesmen song and dance to try and explain why we were never getting money to begin with. I had him on speaker the whole time and you should have seen my wifes face when he said that.. I know what he said, she knows what he said but worst of all, he knows what he said the day we turned the car in. These people are con artists so stay as far away as possible. Cars today, properly maintained, will last well over 100,000 miles. There is no need to buy or lease new from these types of people when a good used car will last you years.

Marc Douglas made buying our new Outback a fun experience. Car shopping can be hit or miss but it was great. 0% pressure, 100% information. I had been looking to replace my 2001 Toyota Rav4 for some time. Went with all intentions of leaving with a 2017 outback, arrived to not be greeted or approached after walking the lot for 10 minutes. Had to find someone to get a sales man. I asked for a appraisal of my current car. He had a terrible attitude and just gave off a complete vibe of not wanting to help us, so I left unsatisfied and decided to shop around for a better dealership who wants me business during a pandemic!EDIT: I fully recommend anyone looking to buy a new or used Subaru to go visit Kim at Huebners in Carrollton! She was amazing and was extremely helpful from the moment I walked onto the lot! Definitely not the kind of service you will find at Waikem!

Bought my first Subaru last week from a wonderful salesman Marc Douglas. My wife and I had planned on looking at three other (non Subaru) cars at another lot. Our GPS took us to Waikem Subaru in Massillon, OH. Marc quickly realized we were in the wrong location. With an hour before close Marc jumped right in to help us solve our needs. He was not your stereotypical car salesman. He was not pushy or over bearing with his sales pitch. He was knowledgeable and spoke from his own experiences of owning a Subaru. From the minute we walked in we felt welcomed. Everyone was super friendly and courteous from beginning to end. I have already spread the word of the level of service we received and would most definitely return in the future for another car purchase. The Forester is an amazing car so far and it is all thanks to Marc for working with us to make this happen. Thank you Marc. I truly hope your higher ups recognize you for being a great salesman.

Ive been a Honda girl for life. I was debating between a Honda and a Subaru, but Marc Douglas was recommended to me as a no pressure, helpful sales person, so I started at Subaru (plus I know Subaru helps homeless animals and thats important to me too). Marc was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. He took his time with me and worked hard to meet my budget. Bob, the manager, was also extremely helpful in helping me get the car I wanted and a payment I could afford.

I drove to this location straight from work. My car was NOT OK and I have been wanting something better in inclement weather. This is mostly about the salesman, Marc Douglas. From the start he was quite understanding to my situation. He worked with me and really did go above and beyond. Because I had gotten in late it was just after closing that I was leaving with the keys. Marc had suggested that I leave my junk car their so I didnt have to wake up my daughter in the middle of the night to go get it. He also took the time to place my floor seats in the correct spots and tire shine the tires before pulling it around. Not only that, but, he also sat with my while I installed the carseat. He didnt have to do all of those things. He didnt even have to pull the car to the back of the lot for me. The staff in general was nice, but Marc was exceptional.Also, he called one or two days later just to check up on me and the car to see how it was going. Never had that happen after buying a car either.Thank you!
