I’m impressed. Usually I’m weary about going to auto shops, but these guys are awesome. I pulled a fuel pump code before bringing in the car, but they found the problem was just some corroded wiring. Instead of charging me for more than was needed they fixed the wires and I was on my way! Steve is upfront and easy to work with. Thanks!

Will definetly return to Buds for future auto needs! Car wouldnt start. Had no idea where to take the car for repairs. Neighbor suggested I have it towed to Buds, local, close by. Even tho I did not have an appt, the shop worked me in for a diagnostic. Once they confirmed it was the starter, it was fixed within a few hours. Employees were knowledgeable and friendly.

I brought in my 2001 Ford F350 to have all items in need of repair replaced and/or rebuilt so we could use it in our travels without worry. They went completely through the truck and turned a 20 year old truck onto virtually a brand new vehicle. They upgraded the headlights and front grill as well as some minor bodywork that greatly enhanced its appearance. Buds technicians are just great. They went above and beyond with my vehicle. The technician (Brian) who did the major part of the work told me that he had fun working on my truck. The proof to me came when my truck was finally finished when Brian and Steve (the owner) showed true delight when bought it out of the shop and showed it to me for the first time. They demonstrated true pride in the quality of the work done.I have been bringing my vehicles to Buds for a year and a half. All of the technicians are excellent and do a wonderful job. I wont take my vehicles anywhere else!

They are Great to work with, they are all very caring and diligent to fix it right the first time. they explained what was needed why and what the options were. they were not pushy just very friendly and wanting to help. they went above and beyond getting parts shipped in to get my truck back to me fast. and they have top notch Diagnostics. they went through the whole truck for me and told me what it would need in the future.

Excellent service. We took the car into Bud’s with a question of brakes and alignment. Brakes were fine and alignment needed just alittle tweeking. We actually had to talk him into doing the alignment. Was done within short time. We got car back same day. We were surprised that the cost was so reasonable. It’s hard to find a honest and reliable mechanic, I think we found one!

I had my truck towed in there to get the transmission fixed after looking at it they blamed Aftermarket Wiring that was for a remote start and alarm system and said they couldnt do anything with the truck and wouldnt work on it,, f2 days later they told me truck couldnt be there cause it was taking up to much space and it would be impounded if it wasnt moved by the next day. The wiring that they where referring to had been in the truck for over 200,000 miles and not the reason for the transmission going out. The transmission went out because I was Towing a trailer and its a diesel truck with over 250,000 miles on it. Needless to say I had to have the truck towed to another shop where they rebuilt the transmission in a few days and its back running. I waisted time and money with having to pay 2 tow billls.

Edited to add on 3/30***Steve called yesterday. Tried to be nice. It worked for a moment. He let us know he would take care of us. Must have read the review...He proceeded to let us know that the issues were not covered under warranty which is no big deal, we braced ourselves for this. He proceeded to let us know that he would do what he could to work with us on the cost of the diagnosis, I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He also during that same conversation told me that he would allow us to come back and receive $100 off of a pre-buyers check if we had to move forward and get a new vehicle.Moving moving forward to this morning as we just got off the phone, and let me know that it will be $166 for the diagnosis he gave us resulting in a recommendation of not fixing the car. Weighing out pros & cons. We agree not to fix more.I am a mother of four children now stuck with no family vehicle to go pay these people in person, and he’s telling me that if I don’t pick it up and pay for it by 4 PM I will be charged another day for storage. I get it... Trust me fellas I don’t want to keep my stuff with you… at least let me figure out how to get there you know?My husband came to the rescue and took time off work to handle, pay and tow vehicle off their property.I will not be changing my review in anyway. I feel like for having spent thousands of dollars at this shop, bringing more than one vehicle in for work over the course of the last year and continued to refer them to others, I could have been treated fairly and with respect whether they could fix the problem or not.I will not ever go back to them for work or any other reason. I do not recommend them. Maybe if Christina was handling things...I understand things happen and it’s not always in our favor. This has nothing to do with money, fixing our car, or anything of that matter. It is currently still in the shop (no big deal, all just happened over the weekend) We called this morning to discuss what happened and I asked a few questions about what may or may not be covered under warranty. Steve proceeded to not only interrupt me and fail to let me speak over and over, but claimed he is the supervisor after I asked to speak to one, (If he is the supervisor, I would highly recommend someone else) placed me on hold without allowing me to say anything twice, came back said he was in a meeting and would discuss my vehicle and it’s needs after they checked it out. Of course, I expect this because how do they know otherwise... I’m just someone with not much knowledge on these things... trying to ask a question or two.We recently got our timing belt tensioner, power steering pump, battery and a few other things replaced through them as their name had been given to us by a referral. We had the car sent back in (yesterday) as it broke down like I was saying, and I had said just 10 minutes ago on the phone to him...I pray they are honest and let us know what is really going on. He was only more rude to me after that.I understand he may not have any answers for me yet. But tone, compassion, and reassurance they will take care of us, (whether under warranty or not) would have made all the difference.I will not ever go here again, nor will I ever recommend them. It has been nothing but issues and when I get on the phone, even with kindness and manors, I am disrespected. This shop is great. I called them for a problem I had with my 1985 k5 blazer not steering straight and pulling in either direction. They were able to get me an appointment with in the week. They sent me a full inspection report with pictures and video of what the main focuses I should have taken care of. We had them replace the ball joints and a few other parts. During the whole process of the truck being in the shop I received phone calls with updates on what was happening. The staff there are very kind and respectful. I highly recommend going here. Great experience.

Buds Auto Repair is 10+ in my book! Steve and Bryan took a genuine interest in my issue from my first phone call to the time I picked up my vehicle. Their initial diagnostic report covered issues I wasn’t even aware I had that would have eventually left me stranded on the side of the road. They identified and repaired my problem where another highly rated repair shop did not. I can’t say enough about Buds Auto Repair. I don’t typically give reviews but in this case I’m glad I found Buds and had them do my repairs. I will definitely use Buds again for all of my auto repair needs!

Chose this shop after they shared their excitement about a special scope their shop has invested in to help diagnose and isolate issues. The problem I was having in my electrical system was a real head scratcher and I couldn’t figure it out myself. After the first diagnosis they were unable to find the root cause of the issue, but they knew it had to do with grounds, there was many vehicles they were working on also so they had to push it out a few days to dive back into it. Low and behold after their second run at it, I got a phone call saying that my truck was done and ready to go. Upon inquiring further I was told the issues and how they fixed it while doing the diagnosis. As I was expecting to pay close to 500$ in diagnostics alone.... the final bill after repair was less than 550$ in total 😅. On top of that, the customer service was top notch, and their 120 point inspection they did as a courtesy was given back to me in full detail, pinpointing all of the minor issues and issues requiring immediate attention, with pictures and descriptions for everything. I am very pleased with the outcome and would recommend this shop to anyone and everyone looking for an honest mechanic to solve their auto troubles. Thanks Bud’s for getting me back on the road. 🙌🙌

July 2021 - Took my 2011 Honda Pilot for serpentine belt repair after it was damaged. They fit it into their schedule and we’re able to warranty some parts.Nov 2020 - Came in for an engine knock issue on my 2011 Honda Pilot. Steve and his team worked hard to determine the cause. They replaced the timing belt and tensioner. The car now runs smoothly and as quiet as a Prius.

I recently purchased an Audi Q7 and was having difficulty finding a local auto shop that could change the oil. On 7/ 10, I spoke with Steve. He was able to make me an appointment on 7/13. He assured me they would only use premium products and do an overall check of my vehicle. The service was done while I waited. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I received a text & email detailing the service that was done as well as a couple issues I should have taken care of the next oil change.

I was certain that we had a blown head gasket on our Forester. The techs at Bud’s didn’t jump to conclusions and Rama full better of tests first. They found that the head gasket was fine, but did find some other items that were overdue and needed addressing. The inspection report was very thorough and easy to read, and the staff was very helpful at explaining everything to us. All repairs and service were done in a timely fashion by a very professional staff. I will recommend them to all of our local friends, especially those with Subarus.

I was looking for a place to repair my air conditioning and they were able to do that and also recomended some maintenance things I needed to take care of. I was very impressed with their customer service. They took the time to explain everything to me and helped me to determine what was the most important thing to take care of first. Also I explained to him that the lock/unlock buttons did not work on my key. They said they’d look into it BUT nope couldn’t even give the curtesy of that knowing I drove 75 miles to see them

They lie to you will over charge you. They changed me for stuff I didn’t tell them to do. When I pointed out Steve said I sighed for it . It wasn’t even my name Or signature. It was the lady’s I talked to when I dropped off my car. The lady gave me one price after I dropped it off . When I came to pick it up it was 3 times what she said it was going to be . They keep my car for 4 days charged me and didn’t fix the problem. This was the worst experience of my life

I took my Nissan Pathfinder 2001 to be diagnosed and checked why it said it was miss-firing in #3 sparkplug service engine soon light was on. When I took it in it wasnt miss-firing or running rough??? So they tried to start to see if it would miss-fire. But didnt. They kept overnight and started next morning...still did not miss-fire... So they switched the coil for #3 sparkplug and with #5 coil. So not miss-firing but checked and diagnosed the car. I picked up that afternoon and running smooth now. They said if it starts misfiring again to bring it in no charge and they will check out the problem.

I will admit the inspection was well worth the cost. Very detailed and the results were sent right to my phone/email.However, I made it pretty clear I only wanted the inspection. So when I called to ask if my car was ready, and Steve started quoting me for spark plugs/battery terminals and fuel induction service.. I was fairly annoyed. I lied and said I’d ask my non- existent husband what he wants to do, and immediately went to pick up my car. Never mind the $800 quote for something that was less than $100 in parts and took me an hour to do myself. He talked over me on the phone and talked to me like I couldn’t possibly know how to change some spark plugs.Would have happily recommended this place had this not occurred, but I have a bad taste now and will not return.

Steve and the guys saved me a LOT of money, TWICE. I asked them to take a look at two different trucks I was interested in buying. In their thorough report, it was clear that both trucks needed a lot more than we were willing to take on. If it wasn’t for their inspection, I would not have known about any of the problems until it was too late. Very impressed with Steve, John, and Brandon. My Subaru engine failed while I was working nearby from out of town. They ran inspection, gave a fair quote, and even helped me find a way home when my car was disabled. It has taken me years to find a reliable and competent automotive service shop, Bud’s Transmission is just that. I recently have had work done on 4 of my vehicles from a clutch in my Subaru, brakes on my F150 (4th in 5 years), undoing all the bad work from other shops on my diesel F350, and rebuilding the front suspension on a Mini Cooper that was also first done at another shop but was unsafe after 3 attempts from them. The only complaint is that I had to pay twice to finally get the work done right. The team at Bud’s Transmission are very competent, thorough, and fast. Very worth while knowing that the work will be done right the first time, I will not go anywhere else again.

I was referred to these guys by a couple of friends at work, as well as their reviews. They are all very knowledgeable technicians, and specialize in diesel trucks. I had a myriad of questions, that they completely answered for me. My truck had a lot of different things that needed to be fixed on it, which by the way the dealer that I had been taking it to for over six years, neglected to inform me about. Steve knew exactly what the fix was for all of my issues. Their 120 point reliability inspection, which is AWESOME and free of charge by the way, revealed everything that needed to be addressed. They send you a copy of this inspection report in an e-mail, as well as a text message on your phone, including a lot of additional information and videos. (Something the dealer never did for me in over six years). They informed me that a lot of the maintenance work that I had the dealer preform was incomplete and even bordered on incompetent. It will take a bit of time to remedy all of these issues, but rest assured, I will no longer be taking my truck to the dealer for anything. These guys are top notch in my book. Buds has become my new and best go to for all of my truck needs. I will also be bringing my wifes car in for maintenance as well. I highly recommend these guys to anyone who wants knowledgeable, highly trained and competent technicians to work on their vehicles. A quick thank you to Steve and Russ for all of their help.

I went there to get my clutch replaced and got the highest quote that Ive heard from any mechanic. Then I was ask to bring my truck in so they could check VIN numbers for the part numbers so they could order the right parts for my truck. They ran a diagnostict on it that I did not ask for them to do and tried to charge me a hundred eighty bucks for it. They then dropped it to $69 for a service I never signed up for after I told them thats not what I was told on the phone. I will definitely not go back!!!

I brought a 2010 Subaru Forester in for a used car inspection and Steve was so helpful, friendly, and flexible with me. He fit me in same day. I got lucky and found out it was a good car, but had a very minor leak from the master gasket that would need repair down the line. That same night an hour and a half before closing he said he would take in the other car I was considering, a 2007 Subaru Legacy. He saved me from buying that car. It had an expensive list of things wrong with. I got very lucky that their shop has a technician who is amazing with Subarus. Steve didnt even charge me for the second inspection. If you are looking for a thorough used car inspection, I would highly recommend them. The quotes they gave us for work that needed to be done also seemed very fair.

So I took my car in bc my drivers side door was no longer responding to my key or key-fob..... long story short, it was just my key-fob acting up and Steve and his team were incredible, they were upfront and honest. Honest down to earth shop. Have always taken good care of me. Went in for an oil change yesterday and the power steering pump that was installed a year ago was starting to leak. They replaced it under warranty with no questions asked. Being a student I really appreciate this.

I took my Nissan Sentra 97 in to Buds Auto Repair and Transmission a couple of days ago. Our car was completely losing power while we were driving it. I had it into another shop before we brought it to Buds, they were unable to find the problem. Buds on the other hand, with all the awesome testing equipment were able to see that it was my alternator. Although I was unable to get enough money together it replace the alternator at the time, I would definitely recommend Buds services. Steve is very personable and friendly. Taking time to explain things to me as well as show me the problem on his computer. They send you a detailed report of everything they checked, with pictures even. I have never received anything like that from any shop before. They are a bit pricey, but well worth the cost.t

They are good people I had my car fix there had a lot off things done to my car, they got it done fast for what they had to do . Then something wasnt right had them look at it, then they fixed it at no cost to me. I will see them again and if anyone need work done they are good. Got another car worked on has well. Well I giving this place a 1 star because of multiple reasons!1. I drove our jeep to have it looked at for some popping noises that where coming from the front because we had no other vehicle. The owner of the Shop informed me he had experienced techs that he sends to school etc. So I was assured they could find out what it was. I had to Uber home which cost me money because we had no car. Keep in mind we dropped it off in the morning, after having our Jeep we didnt even get a call that day in regards to what was going on. I had to uber to work the next day and a whole day went by again without any calls. To what was going on with our only Vehicle. Finally the third day comes around we call him to see what was going on and he gave us the run around about what they found and they didnt have much time to look at it. I decided to uber back to pick up our jeep and it chose me a little over 300 bucks to get it back and he had done NO WORK on it!! We took it to the Jeep dealership the next day and they called us back with a couple of hours with a diagnoses informing me that the driveshaft needed to be replaced!300 bucks for no work being done and uber cost. I would not recommend this place as he had no idea as to what they were doing!Stay away do not waste you money here!!!

My husband took his vehicle in to get services and when he got home he was so angry, he was disrespected, lied to, never got an explanation of his bill correctly. His warranty company told him one thing and the shop told him something different. The math from the warranty company had the exact same work on it as the invoice from Buds, yet Buds still charges $300 more when it should have just been covered under the deductible. The owner Steve even answered the phone in the middle of checking him out and continued to ignore his questions. All Steve was interested in was his payment. We work in the car industry and we will be sure to tell all of our friends and associates of the BAD business we received at BUDS.

Took my newly purchased (used) vehicle in for an air conditioning problem.. they were up front with the cost...and what they were going to do. Also, suggested I go on line and print a coupon to save a little $$. I did.. but, forgot to bring it with me... he honored it anyway. Also they ran a free complete system check and found 2 small issues .. (low battery and dirty air filter).. going back in to have them resolved and get green checks all they way down! thanks for the extra time and effort... and for being up front about my options. So happy to have cool air!!!!

Went in to have a temporary repair inspected and fixed correctly before it left me stranded. Unfortunately the part I needed wasnt readily available. They took the time to explain the options they had for a permanent repair but had the quote ready in recognition of my personal preference for factory parts. Honest and straight forward.

Buds is a great place to take your car. They do a very through inspect to check for any needed repairs, but dont do a hard sale to get the work done. They are very friendly and very knowledgable. All their techs have to take the latest classes to keep up with engineering changes from the car companies. I will be take my car there again.

I recently moved from NV to WA, and I needed to find an entity to service my Nissan. Hence, I conducted a search online. Per Yelp, Magic Nissan of Everett received 22 reviews averaging 2.5 out of 5 stars. Also per Yelp, Buds Transmission and Auto Repair received 7 reviews averaging 4.5 out of 5 stars. After checking out Buds website, I discovered they received over 100 reviews averaging 5 out of 5 stars. Scheduling an appointment online for an oil and filter change was easy, and my vehicle was serviced right away. No long lines. No long waiting. To top it all off, the folks at Buds (e.g., Christine, Josh, Steve) were very pleasant . . . and honest. The 29-point inspection they regularly conduct did not reveal any problems. Whether you own an old or new vehicle, when is the last time you can honestly say you had your vehicle serviced, and the folks servicing it did not find something you had not bargained for?

I basically ended up having quite a bit of work done to the upper part of my engine (intake manifold, spark plugs, coils, valve gaskets, etc.) and the worked with me with the price. I am very happy with the customer service there; and so far, the quality of work. My truck ended up in there 2 days before going on vacation, and they allowed the use of their van while my truck was in their shop. I have interacted with multiple shops within Marysville, and this is by far the best shop Ive run across. I am definitely recommending this place to my friends and family, and will be going back!

They added to the list of what needed to be done and replaced parts that couldve lasted years longer. Ask for pictures or better yet, to see parts they say need replacing immediately yourself before authorizing unexpected repairs!! They WILL find more problems you didnt know you had. And get specifics on what they actually plan on doing and INSIST on getting a price! Avoid talking to the owner, he will NOT let you speak and concerns are addressed as putting down his business and not as they should be. My end of the conversation went something like ...but .... what.... if... can... and.... for a good 10 minutes. Talk to Travis if given the opportunity. They put comments on the INVOICE like Customer emotional because of husbands death to explain why this 70+ yr old woman got upset. NOT because the car took twice as long as expected, or the repairs ended up costing more than the car is worth. NOT because they called and told her the brakes needed replacing, which is a common inexpensive thing, but what they MEANT was they would be pulling out CV joints and doing a compete, UNNEEDED, overhaul from top to bottom. She did NOT authorize that. When it was picked up it didnt make it 10 miles before ALL 4 WHEELS were burning and smoking. The complete brake overhaul, that they insisted upon doing, was a major fail. The owner will NOT be bringing the car back for warranty work or for any other reason.

I called them by accident. Travis was helpful and let me off the phone to check the other place I had tried to call. They are out of business. So I struggled in to Buds. I had been at Valvoline (former oil can Henrys) They had ran a diagnostic and couldnt fix the problem. They were also great. I should have started with, My husband who usually does all our car maintenance and repairs was gone hunting. Travis got me in ran me through the paper work after hearing what my car was doing and what the guys at Valvoline discovered. He also had their parts/bookkeeper run me to work on her way to get some parts in Everett. Travis let me know in about an hour that my coil had gone out. They also ran a check with photos of all aspects of the car including tires, lights, and fluids. I thanked them for their info and told them to only fix the coil. Because of what was going on with my coil gas was in my oil. I asked if the price he quoted me included an oil change. He said he could make that happen for me and it did. They had if fixed by 3PM. They couldnt have been more helpful. I think they did a good job. The list of items including photos is in my email. As soon as my husband comes home he has a to do list.

Ive used Buds for transmission repairs and auto maintenance on the last four vehicles weve owned, including our Hybrid .Their work is better than the car company shops and Ive never had to question a bill . Its important to be able to trust your mechanic, and I trust the crew at Buds.I believe in passing along who does us right as much as passing along who does us wrong. With Buds Ill never have to look for another auto shop .Call and talk to Steve, hes a treasure-trove of knowledge. Jim.

BE AWARE!!!Bad mechanic work done and Buds failed to repair work that was done by them incorrectly. I am now out a vehicle and the $ I paid to have it fixed. I have Contacted BBB and Buds neglected them as well. What a great business? Buds is a scavenger shop. I would not trust them with a hot wheels car and crayons.

Buds finished the work on my car Friday afternoon, but I was stuck in awful Seattle traffic and couldnt make it to the shop before they closed. Steve offered multiple different solutions so I wouldnt be without my car for the entire weekend. Fortunately for me, Steve had to pick something up at the shop on Saturday morning and I was able to meet him at that time. I have NEVER had such extraordinary customer service from any company as I have had at Buds. Both Travis and Steve make sure I truly understand what is being done to my car and they never make me feel incompetent when I ask questions. Such positive and happy staff, you cant help but smile when you leave. Often, auto shop staff bad mouth mechanics who previously worked on the car (their competition) as a way to garner more customers. Not at Buds. They let the quality of their work and their fabulous customer service do the talking, and I appreciate that tremendously.

We took our 1994 Buick Century in for a minor issue. The fan inside my truck was only working on the 4th speed and after having two new resisters motors stop working after a couple weeks, they have fixed everything -- which included all new parts for the entire fan system -- and, since everything was paid for with the first resister motor replacement AND they guarantee their work, they only charged me for the parts that we not replaced the first two times. The second and third time, I have paid no labor or diagnostic charges because they guarantee their work which many places do not do. I have been using the services at Buds Transmission for over 15 years and will continue to do so as long as I live in this area. They are GREAT!

My Escape shook to a stop while driving, then wouldnt roll forward at all. The nearby Ford dealership service center stated that my SUV had a completely failed transmission- one of the most costly repairs that can happen to a vehicle. After towing it to Buds for a second opinion, they discovered the issue was a bolt component of the brakes became lose. That was all, the transmission was fine. Fortunately, Buds was very honest and transparent with me the entire time my vehicle was under their care. It is rare to find mechanics of this caliber. They saved me a huge amount of money and stress. Thank you, Travis and Steve.

I called first to find out the worst case amount on a motorized window repair. I was ready for the worst. The amount ended up being more than the worst case than they quoted me, as they tagged on a diagnostic exam that they never included in the amount nor told me would cost extra. Instead they told me that the diagnostic was to help them figure out what part of my window did not work correctly, which makes sense. Except that this diagnostic included a test drive a look at our transmission, air conditioning, etc. Definitely not what I had anticipated.We were actually considering having them repair/replace the motor on the window of another vehicle. When we cant trust them to stick to the work that we ask them to do, we are not going to ask them to do more.
