They tend to get a bad wrap. My experience has been that they usually try. And sometimes go the extra mile. Air travel must be a tough business. To get the most out of it, I have chosen AA to stick with for the perks. Flying today on points. Remembering that delays are a first world problem. 🙏
ABSOLUTELY NEVER FLYING WITH AMERICAN AIRLINES AGAIN!!! The experience was awful. I got in line to check my bag along with a firearm. I travel alot and am very used to the process. The lady behind the desk was very rude and not customer service friendly. She had an attitude the entire time I went through my bag to show her my locked and secured firearm. She kept making snide comments to the point where i actually had to call her out on her attitude. By the time we were done she wouldnt check my bag and sent me to another line. The obviously knew nothing about firearms however instead of admitting that she needed assistance she acted like a know it all and made the entire experience awful. Currently writing this review on the plane that is stuck on the runway because they didnt load the baggage in the plane correctly and messed up the weight. Now over an hour delayed.
Check in at American airlines in Atlanta was pretty bad....the app wouldnt work on my phone so I waited in line to check in at the front....I told the girl it wouldnt work so she sent me back to the self check in kiosk...I got it to work, printed out my boarding pass and baggage tag and got BACK in line....while I was in line the same woman who wouldnt help me at the front but just sent me to the kiosk had now left her post at the front leaving only one guy doing baggage drop off and went ahead to help 2 others...then I get to the front again and apparently both my boarding passes hadnt printed, only the first leg and the guy sent me BACK AGAIN to the kiosk and refused to help me after I had asked him to help me....I reprinted my boarding pass and it printed both out this time. Overall the staff just didnt care to be helpful at all or even friendly at least. I FULLY understand everyone in customer service is warn out and understaffed right now, as Im in the same world of customer service, but at least they can try to be friendly if theyre not going to be helpful.

Horrendous at best. They dont know, dont care and try their best to be unhelpful. Actually, they shouldnt even try to be unhelpful, since they are already Horrendous. Perhaps it was only these two that were horrible..... I usually have excellent experiences with AA first class check in counters at other airports. LAX is truly a love and hate relationship.
Help at the desk is amazing. But flight delays and missed connections are killing me right now. Thinking of changing airlines.
Whoever the two agents were at Gate 52 on Saturday, August 28th, 2021 at 4pm were awesome! Give them a raise!! I wish I wouldve gotten their names. Very helpful & great spirits!

Staff was helpful. Unfortunately, there are some people who have no idea how to check in a bag (even though instructions are clear), use their phones or follow very simple procedures. Its like they dont mind to use their intelligence.
I had to take a later flight because my ORIGINAL flight was an hour late but they still cut off checked luggage at the usual time. Which meant I had to take a flight 3 hours later, and I lost my first class status without any compensation. I was VERY UNHAPPY!
Only one person working the counter. Was in the first class/priority line and it took longer than the regular line. People arguing holding up the line and the worker not caring at all and walking away from the counter. Good thing I got here 3 hours early.
I’m an American Airlines Credit Card Member. I have miles, etc. I’m not a huge traveler or I don’t run a business off of my credit card. Yet, we had accumulated miles and thought we would use some to take a much needed vacation with the family. We were able use miles for two tickets and we had to purchase two more tickets. American’s System would not let us buy tickets, along with using miles, so we had to do two different reservations. So after paying almost $2,000 for two tickets. We had to pay another $90 for baggage fees too, since we weren’t on the same reservation. Might as well fly Spirit or Frontier if we want to get nickel and dimed to death. To add insult to injury, come to find out that we could have purchased four tickets on Hawaiian Air for less than we paid for two. They have much better service than American too.
I am extremely dissatisfied with American airlines. Rather than switching planes for one that was working they chose to delay the flight from San Jose to Hell-A by about an hour causing myself and several other to miss connections. I was looking forward to getting to Savannah in the morning however now since I had to change flights I am flying to Hilton head, which is over an hour from my destination. They did give me a meal voucher that I cant use because the restaurants will only accept it if its printed out and a hotel i cant go to because the shuttle stopped running by the time I was able to get to it. So I am sitting at my gate waiting for a flight that left 9 hours later than my original flight. Do better American airlines, you are a poor example of the airline industry. Its things like this that cause people to lose trust in you.
When it comes to putting their customers first American is sorely lacking. Just hard to feel like they dont prioritize profit over service.
The Staff at the desk were Exceptional! We had a mishap via Carnival Cruise Lines, but your staff came through for all 17 of my travelers.
Its really fun to sit in a hot terminal for hours and have your dining options close as youre about to order. If this sounds fun to you, then terminal 5 at LAX is the place for you.
2 stars are for the employees professional customer service. After that I almost missed my flight because I waited for an hour and a half for wheelchair assistance that never came. Woman ahead of me missed her flight so I ended up trying to walk to my flight and barely made it.
For my first time flying they had the experience really great
The AA personnel at Cabo airport messed up, 1 passport swiped for 2 passangers, which messed up the passanger manifest and created a lot of headache at immigration and for onward flight security check. The LAX AA desk fixed it quickly. Still a shame for such a mistake for 1st class tickets. Mexico staff is very sloppy.
Well, when help was there it was good, but there was no assistance for about 20 minutes.
AA was great but there third party car rental was horrible.
Was a good service make me feel at home.

Very nice flight attendants! The flight was smooth, non-stop. First time on American Eagle; surprisingly very nice.
We paid for first class and got exit seating row equivalent treatment. No cocktails, no WiFi, no lounges were open, and their pet rest areas were disgusting.
Its AA so dont expect anything great. Just delays and delays.
Hard to reach anyone, have to travel 1 terminal over-- its a long walk from terminal 5. They need a lot of help.

Living is being upgraded to Business or 1st Class on a lovely 767 on a flight ✈️ from LAX to JFK Airport. You truly haven’t lived until you have tried both classes of service. The small jet I snapped these photos is of my favorite AA Jet with the jets that could. I love Lear Jets. Just pack light for this excursion but having only coach kind of shuts up the arrogant elites who I must confess to being a Platinum Elite Member. Nothing wrong with being an elite member. Just leave your arrogance behind on my favorite small Jet Airplane ✈️. The LAX to Heathrow flight is a sheer delight. Fly AA. I would give them 100 💯 if I could. Thanks for over 35 years of good service. ✈️ Fly like an Eagle on American Airlines!
Horrible experience. They won’t tell you anything and flights are constantly delayed. They act like it’s no big deal.

In what world is the “remote terminal” an acceptable level of service? You get no warning when you book your flight that you’ll need to add 30 minutes to your airport arrival time to stand in a mile long line, ride a bus across the airport, and board from the tarmac. Even with larger planes you’re not safe: I was on a 777 that disembarked on the middle of the tarmac and they bused us back to the terminal.Don’t travel American at LAX.

Flying out of RNO to LAX round trip. Both flights have been over half hour delayed. Staff could care less and are rude. Will NEVER fly American again. Worst experience ever on a plane.

I went with my mom and we had to pay for the food. We went to Peru and stopped in Dallas for 2 hours. Delay 1 hour late at peru. Will never fly on this airline
