I rented a car from this company at the end of July 2021. The price was high - more then $60 per day for 94,000 miles Nissan, all beaten up on the outside and not too clean either.After we picked up the car and wanted to leave the airport we got hit with extra $15 we had to pay for the rental company leaving the car on the airport parking lot overnight. Not nice.The first day we got CHECK ENGINE error. Imagine if this happens on the road to Hana. We had to drive 30 min to the rental car location to see what was wrong.Car performed well during our 8 day vacation.Im giving this company only 2 stars because of their customer service.I originally rented a car for 9 days but ended up returning it 1 day earlier.I spoke with customer service and requested to get refund for one day. They refused saying they wont be able to rent a car for that day.This was not true, because on the day of my departure, someone called me from that rental company, before 10am, and asked me if I had already returned the car because another customer is waiting for it.So, they charged me for a day of rental and they rented the same car twice, but refused to reimburse me for returning the car early.Im wrote this so if you rent with them, be prepared for few bumps on the road.In response to Go Maui comments to this review.My main point of writing this review is that Go Rent Maui knew that they could rent the car I had the same day without any problems, yet they refused to refund me for 1 day of early return. They could have given me a refund and rent the car again. I will never do any business with them. They charge $60 per day, which is not cheap, for a beaten up 94k car. Great rental experience! Prices more than beat any competitors, especially considering there was a rental car shortage in September. We loved getting off the plane and just walking right out to our car- no lines, no waiting. The return was just as easy and hassle-free. Their customer service was AMAZING and we will definitely rent from GO Rent a Car Maui next time were in Maui.

In a time when travelers are waiting for several hours in hot, long lines just to be told the agency is out of cars and you have to wait longer, Go-Rent-A-Car takes an alternative approach that gives time and freedom back to travelers. With very simple, easy-to-follow instructions sent via email, my family and I were able to grab our bags and walk straight to our rental car without ever waiting in line or stopping at a counter. And the return was just as simple. AND!!! They were quite cheaper than the majority of the companies in Maui. We would definitely recommend and will use their company again in the future.

We were in Maui a month ago for a family vacation. There were 6 of us, and with rental car shortages, we are hard pressed to find one much less a mini van, so I was overjoyed to find one through Go Rent A Car Maui! The customer service was awesome. Instructions for pick up and drop off was super easy. Yes, it was a little pricey but much cheaper than a sedan I managed to find from a national chain. We used GO Rent A Car Maui for our our 11 day honeymoon and had an awesome experience! Every time we called we got top quality, friendly service. From pick up to drop off the process was seamless! The price was certainly the most reasonable that you will find anywhere on the island, and you don’t have to sacrifice quality or service. The customer service for Go Ren A Car Maui is excellent! It was so easy to pick up and drop off, which we appreciated. The only reason for only 4 stars was just the car is self was a bit beat up. That being said, it ran excellent, got great mileage, and got us everywhere we need to go. I would definitely rent from them again, especially for the price we got. It was so much better than what we would have gotten from the big name rental companies.

From booking months ago, to their reconfirmation just prior to our trip, to picking up car at lot, to driving car, to dropping off the car at lot ALL WAS TERRIFIC! This car rental company is amazing! I will never go anywhere else when in Maui to rent a vehicle! Do yourself a favor and save the 1-3hr wait at other car rental companies and get out of the airport in 10 min. 10 min!!!! Is all it took for us to walk out of the airport to the designated parking aisle, punch in a code on lock box, take pictures to verify condition and drive out of the airport! All while we watched the line of people at the car rental center waiting to leave. Easiest transaction I have ever had! Extremely responsive when I needed to alter pick up and drop off times. And even text confirmation. That car was picked up after return. BE SMART and rent with Go Rent a Car Maui!

They have the Best customer service. Book in advance! Cars are not new and that’s ok. Got the car I wanted and it was easy getting in and out of places. We weren’t sure to what to expect but I have to say we are happy! This company was so affordable, easy to work with and the process was so simple. We would do this again and again. Why pay triple the price? The car was definitely older but we didn’t worry about the windows getting smashed like we would if we rented a jeep. The AC worked great in the car served it’s purpose. We rented beach chairs and I just can’t stress enough how awesome they were! I highly recommend it

October 2020I rented a car from this wonderful organization for 12 days. I was impressed with their attention to service and detail from day one. Sandy was so kind and such a delight to work with. I will use this outfit every time I go to Maui.

This is one of the few places that you can walk out of Kahului airport straight across from the baggage claim and get your car. The first car we got was a 2005 Honda pilot. Drove it for a day, but it was a little too old so we requested a newer model van. Got a 2011 Toyota Sienna, which drives nicely. Interior really shows its age, but better than the first. Not sure if they only have older cars? Doesnt really bother me if they drive nice. The convenience of not having to do the shuttle and the lines is the trade off, which I feel is worth it. The staff are super friendly and very quick to respond to inquiries. If nothing else, I would use again just because of them.

These guys are the absolute best. We picked up our car right at the airport and the communication was excellent. We decided to extend our trip twice and sandee and her team accommodated us without a hitch. Even switched out our car while we were whale watching to make things easier for us. I can’t say enough great things about this family owned company. Bonus...we felt like locals in our pick up truck. Great prices. Great service.

Renting with Go Rent A Car Maui is was super easy and saved us a lot of time. Rather than having to catch a shuttle or check-in with a rental company, the car was waiting in the airport parking lot for us. All we had to do was throw our bags in and go. When we were flying out we parked in the same lot and walked out to our flight! They were a great company to rent from and I wish there were more great options like this around the world!

We feel so fortunate to have happened across GO Rent A Car Maui while booking our vacation to Maui. About half way through our stay, we were rear-ended just past Hana, a collision that totaled our rental car and left us stranded 2.5 hours away from our AirBnb. Fortunately, Ido from Go Rent A Car was there for us. Not only did he find us a tow that agreed to give us a ride back to where we were staying, he also got us a new rental car night-of AND remained in contact with us through our pick-up of the new car, 6 hours after our crash and long after GO Rent A Car closed. The personability, professionalism, and genuine care we experienced from every member of this company (shout out to Ido and Sandee) exceeded our expectations, and helped make what could have been a vacation-ruining experience just a small hiccup. Super easy pick up and drop off likely quicker than going to a rental car counter. Car was older but clean and worked great! Felt safe and that it was in good working order.

The mark of a good company is when the chips are down. These folks especially Ido came thru when we had not one but two flat tires! They got a flat tire trying to rescue us, so make that three flats! No extra charge, no complaining they just got the job done. And they answer the phone! Who does that nowadays?

Same thing for returns in reverse. Good clean cars and cheap! Best find ever. I wouldn’t go with another company ever again. Never in all our travels have we have such a smooth experience when renting a car. THE BEST.

Great experience!Instead of waiting in the long lines for the rental car shuttle, we walked straight to our car, which was in the parking lot across from the terminal. Detailed instructions and pictures made it easy to pick up the car, and we were on the road within 10 minutes. Be ready to pay up to $15 for parking to get out of the lot, but I promise you, it is 100% worth the time and peace-of-mind of working with a great local company.Car was about 10 years old with 80,000 miles, exactly as expected. Baseline Camry without key-less entry or anything more than an AM/FM radio. Air Conditioning worked well, windows went up and down, and it proved to be reliable. Everything I needed, and nothing I didnt. Perfect.We only had one hiccup, which was the low tire pressure light came on early into our trip. Tire pressures all checked out ok, and I kept an eye on it during the trip without any issues. Go was great when I let them know, and there were no issues. Nice, new tires, by the way. It was apparent that Go definitely took care of their cars.Returning the car was just the opposite as picking up. Parked the car, took a picture, left the keys in the lock-box, and walked to our flight. Easy peasy.If youre looking for a brand new car with bells and whistles, I would suggest paying three times as much to stand in line at the airport for the big rental car companies (even then, youre going to get a much higher mileage car than youre used to on the mainland). If youre looking to experience Maui with a great local experience, go with Go, roll down the windows, keep the radio off, and just be in Maui.

I visited Maui for 2 weeks and wanted something reliable and affordable. Not only did I get a reliable and affordable car, I also received great customer service from Sandee as well as convenient and efficient pick-up and drop-off. It was so easy to communicate with Sandee through text messaging instead of waiting to be answered by a fake representative like most big name car rentals. The car was waiting for me in the airport parking lot when I arrived with easy to follow instructions on pick-up and drop-off. The car was older so it came with a great price and it didnt look like a typical tourist rental so I liked that a lot, especially being local. AC worked great during this summer heat and I never had any complications with the vehicle. Aside from the usual wear and tear, it was in great condition. I never experienced such a wonderful and easy process when renting a vehicle from other companies. Probably the best rental car experience Ive had, and Ive traveled a lot! So easy to pick up and to drop off. Just get off the plane and go to your car in the parking lot! No lines, no waiting. Then repeat on return. Just park it in the lot and let them know where it is. We got a great deal on a van. Same price as a tiny economy car with all other agencies, and it held all our snorkeling gear, chairs, cooler etc when driving to the beaches out on the end of the island. This will be my go to car rental on Maui every visit from now on!

Fantastic experience. We travelled with our 18 month old and really appreciated how quickly we were able to pick up and drop off the vehicle. The car seat was already installed when we got there and had an adjustable headrest to easily position the harness rather than messing around with straps. Great company to book with.

Best thing about renting from Go Rent A Car was their very pleasant, easy-going staff via text and phone call. We rented a minivan (Toyota Sienna) it was a little older with some miles and a few scratches, but I felt it was mechanically very well taken care of and safe. Pick up was very close to the arrivals terminal at Kahului airport. Price was excellent, I would rent from Go again.

The whole experience was seamless. After reserving a car a month prior we just had to pick it up at the airport when we landed and return it back at the airport when we left. This was especially great because we rented the car with a car seat which was already installed when we picked up the car. This car rental company was the best choice I made. I didnt have to go through a process for renting with paper or signing and they removed and replaced a car to accommodate for a delayed flight. The car was waiting for us at the airport and the return instructions were easy. It was one less stress or work we had to do for our trip.

I would use GO Rent a Car Maui again, for sure. The car ran great, no lines to pick it up or drop it off. It was an older model so I wasnt worried about keeping it perfect. My only complaint is I was charged $30.00 to get out of the airport parking lot when I was told it would only be $15.00. Still a very good bargain.

Great company. They gave clear instructions and followed through as promised. What a treat to simply walk out of the airport and find the car waiting as promised. Just not waiting at a counter was worth going with Go Rent a Car Maui. We got an older car and it worked well and cost us much less than the major rental companies. Great gas mileage too! We added 2 chairs and an ice chest and it was inexpensive bonus and added to the ease of getting on vacation. Thanks

We used Go Rent a Car Maui for the first time and it is now our go to car rental agency. The whole experience was easy and fast. They drop a car at the airport for you that you just go and get from visitors parking. No trolly no long lines. You get your luggage you walk out and 5 minutes later you’re on your way. The vehicles are not new but I don’t care. They’re well maintained and easy on the pocket book. I want to look like a local instead of a tourist. I am much happier supporting a local business then having the money go off island. This company deserves their 5 stars

Just entered a code and were on our way. 21st century concept, but with traditional customer service – when we called to find out about extending the rental, they were personable, friendly, efficient. Easily the best rental car experience I’ve had in Maui. The car was parked right at the airport, ready for us when we arrived, and returning the car was as easy as parking directly at the airport—so convenient! We also had a toddler with us and they provided a car seat (quite used, but totally adequate). Best bang for your buck, hands down.

What a great deal at Go Rent a Car Maui. We searched for a 7 person vehicle and founded Go Rent a Car Maui by accident and what a find it was. If your looking for a brand-new car go to the other rental companies, but if you want to SAVE 2/3s of your money by renting with Go Rent a Car Maui this is the place for you. The 7 person van we rented was great, some light Rickie Bob scrapes and bruises but ran great and had Ice Cold Air. The pick up and drop off process was simple and quick. We walked right across the street, loaded up the van and off we went.No stopping at a rental car office and waiting in that long line to be helped. Just get in and go in minutes.This was my first time utilizing Go Rent a Car Maui and it wont be my last. The ability to pick up the car right across from the baggage claim and return it there when departing seemed to add half a day to our vacation in Maui. The car was clean, worked perfectly and met our every transportation need. I highly recommend GO Rent a Car Maui! You wont be disappointed.

Super easy self pick-up and drop off right by baggage claim. Our flight got delayed a few hours and they let me keep the car for the additional few hours so we could enjoy some time in Lahaina. Highly recommend!!

Great service and value. The rental was clean and what we needed. I dont get reliable free upgrades with other rental places and do not see a need to pay for a nice rental while on vacation. The rental was great at fitting in with the local traffic and didnt scream tourist so I felt better with personal belongings left in the vehicle while we were at the beach. We specifically scheduled a pickup outside of the airport to avoid the parking fee upon pickup, but we were told they cannot do that on Sundays. We shouldnt have been able to request that through reservations, but it somehow slipped by. We still had to pay $15 to drive out of the airport with the car. Thats why its a four and not a five star review. Otherwise, everything was great.

Best car rental experience Ive had. Clean vehicle in perfect condition, super easy pick up and drop off. I loved the modern and efficient process - all the info I needed was in text and email. I arrived late at night and self service was perfect - much better than having to take van or trolley to car rental place, wait in line, go through the upgrade pressure spiel... When planning our trip to Maui, my husband and I found Go Rent a Car Maui to be far less expensive than mainstream companies. We were staying only four days, and they have a five day minimum, and that was still less expensive! We contacted them and found we could return the car after our four days. They were extremely friendly, and their system was unique. They drop the car off in the parking lot the day you get in, with a box on the handle with the key inside. When youre on your way home, you drop the car back off in the parking lot. It was super easy!We highly recommend Go Rent a Car Maui!

This was by far the most pleasant car rental experience Ive ever had. The convenience of pre-registering and simply picking up and dropping off the rental at the airport was easy and fast. With small kids in tow, this alone was invaluable. As others have mentioned, the vehicle was not new, but it was clean, reliable and exactly what we were looking for. The service was friendly, easy and very accommodating. I made a mistake during the car drop off process and emailed Go Rent a Car Maui letting them know that I had made the mistake. They were very kind in resolving the issue. I would 100% use Go Rent a Car Maui on our next trip to Maui.

Perfect! Our car was comfortable, spacious, and very affordable. The pickup process was so simple and easy we were on our way moments after we grabbed our bags. This is a cheapest rent a car in Maui when I was trying to look in all of the website online. The car is really reliable & cheap on gas eventhough the car is not that new model. The car didnt give us a problem when we drove it anywhere in Maui. The owner was really nice & very helpful. We didnt also had a problem in finding our car at the parking lot of the airport. --- Michelle

We rented, what ended up being, a 2007 Honda CRV. It was well loved, but took good care of us as we visited lots of corners of the island. The directions were clear. The care was comfortable. Have clear expectations, you aren’t renting a luxury vehicle. We blended in well, and that’s just what we wanted. I’d do it all over again. Thank you, Go Rent a Car!!

I cannot possibly put into words how amazing GO Rent a Car Maui is! The service was phenomenal!! A week before the trip I was all set up and communicating with them making all the arrangements. I had the pleasure to deal with Sandee who was extremely helpful in every possible way, she sent to me an entire ‘hand written list ! of all the recommendations for tours, restaurants and activities to do in the Island. It was like having a private concierge that I could text for questions!Also, Ido was very helpful for coordinating the pick up and drop off. This was such an easy experience. The owner was accommodating and Sandee (staff) was pleasant on the phone. I sent messages through the site and the responses were very quick, even though it was their day off. I loved the car. I had a question about using the Bluetooth and Ido, the owner, talked me through it. He also was flexible regarding the timing of the car’s return. Definitely would rent from Go Rent A Car Maui again.

I needed a car urgently. i had 1 hr to get to work...GO got me one in 30 minutes!! over the next 10 days i tried a few different vehicles before buying a new car. each time the car was delivered or collected with a smile!! totally recommend them!

Easy pick up in Airport Parking. Easy drop off the same way. 2012 Mazda for 13 days. Great gas mileage, plenty power. No hassles. Way less expensive than Costco!Ido is the best.

This was the easiest, fastest, friendliest car rental agency I have ever used. Good people, great cars, outstanding experience. This is a family owned business and I got to know Sandee who helped arrange our initial reservations and by the time our trip came around we had established a friendship. We went to visit her in Kihei and she taught my girls how to make leis on the beach! What a magnificent experience and one that we will never forget. Thank you all at Go Rent A Car! The rental process was quick and convenient. The staff were nice to talk to. The car was an older Nissan Versa. The transmission clunked and caused the car to jerk in reverse. The gas gauge worked most of the time. We appreciated that this rental was cheaper than a mainstream car rental company.

5 stars! Extremely easy- the car was waiting for me at the airport and the service was outstanding. The vehicle was in great condition with low mileage. This is by FAR the best deal in Maui! You are crazy to go anywhere else :)

We rented a car with this company for 18 days in August. This is the first time in our many holidays to Hawaii that weve ever rented locally. It was very much well worth it!!! We saved over $400 compared to what we used to pay via expedia. The car was exactly what we had requested, very clean and in perfect working condition. It was all we really needed, since we spend so much time at the beach. Customer service was also excellent ~ thank you. Well definitely rent with this company again on our next visit. Mahalo!
