Excellent service and professionalism. You might find a cheaper quote around town for a certain repair (they use block pricing rather than parts + labor) but time is money and these guys move fast. Dropped my truck off at 8:30am and it was diagnosed in an hour and repaired in another couple hours. You won’t find same day service with most generalist mechanics, but you’re almost certain to get your vehicle fixed up that day (provided you drop it off early) with these guys. Also, if you’re a Jacksonville native and want to do business with other down home Jacksonville people (it’s a preference of mine) then this will check that box for you. Jimmy (and I believe his father) were really friendly, polite, and straight-forward people.

If this was a restaurant, it would be the best, hole-in-the wall, local gem, where the line stretches out the door because everyone wants a table. Been around a long time. Good people, fast service, price seemed reasonable, gave me a good explanation on what was going on. Got me in and out same day. When I had a follow-on issue, they corrected it without question.This place is a no appointment, bare bones shop. Be ready to wait outside or have someone pick you up. They fill up fast with cars, so get there early.

Great people with much knowledge to get your ac working. They were unable to fix mine this time due to it being an electronic issue that requires diagnostic machine they do not have. But did not charge me for the 20 minutes spent looking at it. Highly recommend them for your ac needs.

Honest and Fast! I brought it in the morning. Just mins after I got home he called and told me what was wrong. As soon as I decided to fix it, he had the parts and it was done by 10 the next morning. Probably would have been done the same day, if I didnt wait till the afternoon to say go... spent that time calling around and searching for anyone cheaper. Couldnt find one. He only uses oringal parts. Plus you get a year warranty on parts and labor!!!

Was told that I have a leak in the evaporator in my truck. That I believe but the diagnosis did not address my concerns. The system will not build pressure and would constantly cycle off and on. That was the reason for my visit. I told the manger that when I arrived. Thol the tech when he pulled my truck up. Both times I was told that it was because the system was low. I informed them that even when the system was charged to the correctly with a machine it would still exhibit the same symptoms. I was give looks by both like I was speaking and unknown language. I have been a certified ASE Master Technician for 11 of the last 26 years of my life. Everyone gets stumped sometimes working on cars. I was told that along with the evaporator I would need and new expansion valve but not a new dryer. The expansion valve is less than 2 weeks old and was pulled right out of the motorcraft bag from cogging ford. But any technician knows if you open an a/c system you need to replace the dryer. So the issue I took it to these guys for was not addressed a new OEM part was condemned and a required part for an a/c change was dismissed. But was handed an almost 1200.00 estimate. Bottom line stay away from from Dan Auto Air!!!!!

To me Dans AC is a good place to have your car AC service. Many times they didnt charge me anything for the service they gave me. Detected leak in High side Shrader and had them throw on new compressor belt.A/C works fine....just hope that was only leak (time will tell). In at 6:45 and was 3rd car looked at and out at9:30 .

IT WAS NOT MY EVAPORATOR!!!I cant give them LESS THAN ONE STAR!!DONT GIVE THEM A DIME!!!!Arrived 7am for AC diagnosis/repair. They lifted hood & put some cables across the car but were not actually connected to anything. I waited 1 hour. They moved my car to a bay and hung cables again not connected. I realized this when twice I went to the car to get something. I waited a 2nd hour. The manager then calls me inside and says its your evaporator. (Why? Because its the most expensive repair, why else) Im wondering how he knew that since he didnt even crank the car in the bay. He gave me a written quote of over $1100.00 and when I questioned him he got angry and scolded me for not accepting his word. He showed me a pile of evaporators on the garage floor saying he pulls them all the time, its common.Workers are rude, crude, unpleasant, uncaring, unclean and UNPROFESSIONAL. Theyre like a random bunch of day laborers. I said NO.I PROMISE, I went to 5 diff mechanics and they ALL claimed it was my evaporator. It took forever to save up that much.Then someone told me of an honest mechanic who found the real problem. He even took video under the car to show me where the freon was gushing out. It was not the evaporator. IT WAS THE CONDENSER. It now runs perfectly and only cost HALF THE PRICE!Ladies.... RUN, RUN, RRRUUUNNN!THEY THINK YOURE STUPID!DONT BELIEVE THEM. DONT GET TAKEN!

I heard about Dan’s from my brother as I just moved to Jax. I got here on time just like he said and they got my car in an out... wait time about 3.5 hours. I am not mad at all! Got my wifes car done here. They did a great job AC blows snowballs. Took my car in a month later and the problem wasnt the A C it was a wiring harness. They didnt charge me and recommend a shop that specializes in wiring. Great group of guys. They will get your car done fast and on budget.

I called to inquire what time I should come the day before. Dude said, be here at 7 am. I arrive at 710am. No workers address me. I finally wander inside an area and ask a random person standing there if he works there and someone barks from the back, “no more”. I was like but you said you open at 7 am. He said it’s 715am. You should’ve came earlier. I already took my last customer. I was like. Okay.I really wanted this review to be like their other good reviews. I am still hot. I should just take out a loan and goto the dealer😭.But just in case you was wondering. These people are rude. Two. Get there before 7am and fight it out with the other customers. Bring a chair or have somebody to pick you up. Uggghh.

Service was outstanding had to have an liquid line repaired brought in in one evening they had it ready the next morning very reasonable price, part was not available anywhere in the country so they repaired my old one.

My mother recently took her car there to get a compressor. The work seem fine until her AC went out and something was hanging from the bottom of her vehicle. Took it Dan’s and got a complete run around. He will not admit to their fault for they mess THEY CREATED..... Just because a business has good reviews doesn’t mean that they are honest or do professional work. It’s a shame and I pray that people do their research before taking their vehicles anywhere.

Whether you are a native or just passing through, you know that Florida heat and humidity is no joke.Per my uncles recommendation; because he and my whole family visit Dans, I decided to call and schedule an appointment. Within just a few days, I went by and they diagnosed the issue within an hour. The cost for parts and labor were very reasonable.Two weeks later, my moms GMC AC gives out. We dropped the vehicle off and within a few hours it was fixed. There was a minor issue of a clogged line that we didnt notice until a few days later- it could have easily been a new development after we picked up the vehicle. We took it back and it was flushed, free of charge.I worked with Jimmy throughout this whole process. He is very professional and thorough. He really takes his time to explain the best game plan for your vehicles needs.

Took my Pontiac Torrant in for heater repair. All of the workers were so friendly. Although they recommended that I take it to the dealer for repair, they will definitely get 5 stars from me for just being so friendly and helpful....try them out if you need your air fixed!

Went for a year without A/C. Pregnant in the summer I just couldn’t take it anymore. After literally 1 day in their shop I have ice cold A/C! Wonderful service! I will always go back to Dan’s Auto Air! Oh and my father was using them back in the 1980’s-2000’s and was never let down!

About a month ago I was having air conditioning problems with my 2013 Nissan Rogue. After calling around I found out it would cost 1200 dollars for Nissan to put in a new compressor. I called Dans auto air repair. I dropped off the car in the morning and they were nice enough to drive me back to my house. After a few hours they gave me a call back. When I tried to recharge my AC, I over charged it. They were able to drain the freon and bring it back to the factory set level it should have been at. Dans auto air saved me over thousand dollars!! Im sure if Ken Amaro or some under cover scam busters went to this shop theyd make the news, they tried to con me out of $900.00claiming my condenser and dryer went bad, I simply recharged it for $34.00 now my ac is ice cold... beware get a second opinion before letting these. guys rip you off.

You can not beat these guys for your auto a/c. They have about a thousand years combined experience. Theyre not necessarily cheap, but they are the best. I recommend them even if youre coming in from St. Augustine or south Georgia.

Im not complaining about the work but they really stuck it to me on the price. Charged me $850.00 to fix my rear condenser and recharge with Freon. I called three other places and they were between 400-500. What a waste of money. I even came in as a referral, them knowing about it but still robbing me. Not an honest establishment. Beware! You can get the same service for a lot cheaper!

Dans is so great. They will take care of all your A/C needs. I have used them twice for AC repairs in my Honda Accord Hybrid and have been thrilled with the service both times. I needed a new compressor installed but had a broken o-ring as well which was causing even more failures in my cold air and Dans fixed that for free as part of diagnosing the compressor when another business left the faulty oring there.

At first I didnt like the fact that the owner required that you bring your car in at 7am to be evaluated, but when I showed up I understood why; there were already several cars waiting to be service. They were still able to get my A/C fixed same day though so it was worth it! Plus you will receive a 1 year warranty on any work that they do. Great doing business with them!

Fast and super friendly. I have friends who wont go anywhere else. Took my company vehicle there and it was fixed in about 4 hours. Not bad considering all the vehicles I saw there ahead of mine.

These are very good people. They did a major repair on one of our vehicles and the price was fair and the work excellent. The best part is they are very HONEST! While working on our vehicle they did something that caused the passenger side airbag to stop working. The owner of the shop explained why that happened and told me to take it to the dealer to get the air bag recalibrated and that he would reimburse me for the repair. I sent him the dealers bill and a few days later I had a check in the mail. Thats how everyone should do business. No one else in town will ever touch our auto AC repairs except these folks!

Dans a.c. repair was the greatest. Jimmys a.c. not so much premium price shotty work. Left bolts loose,wires to mass Flo sensor unplugged. Did not put a bracket back on ask him about it. Told me to find one he would pay for it. Im not the one that left it off. AC under performs now. Jimmys AC is riding on Dans good name. I suggest going Anywhere but Jimmys a.c. Wish I could give him a minus 5 stars

My Wife and daughter went by Dan’s Auto Air to see about an AC repair on my daughter’s 2002 Ford Explorer blowing hot air with the AC on. Jimmy promptly identified the problem and quoted a repair price of $970, letting us know the exorbitant cost of the “only available from Ford” parts and the labor involved of removing the dash to access the faulty parts. Then Jimmy made a suggestion for a quick-try-this” fix. On his suggestion, I spent 30 minutes gathering a couple of heater hose plastic elbows, a couple of clamps, and a short piece of heater hose from Pep Boys for around $10 and spent 15 minites of time by-passing the heater core which was suggested by Jimmy. That fix stopped the hot air from coming in and also allowed us to feel some cold air entering the vehicle. Athough it’s not maximum cool, it’s much more comfortable. It’s also easily reversible in 10 minutes when the season requires heat instead of AC. Thank you Jimmy. You’re a class act!

Horrible service!!! I came in to get my a/c fix! And he refuse to help me because I told him I put an a/c compressor on my car! The guy that told me that was “jimmy”. I don’t see why that would be a reason to refuse me service, if your establishment specialize in auto A/C repair!?!?
