I went here nearly 3 months ago to get acrylics removed and a gel set done and I dont have a whole lot of good to say sadly. My nail tech was super nice, but she reeeeally drilled the acrylics off and my nails were burning and STILL do. I even suggested maybe we could just soak them and file since we were down to my nail at this point and she was still being drilled.... The gel only lasted about 4 days before chipping off, too. Really bummed since most of the reviews are good but I cant recommend this place to anyone unless you want to risk sore nails for months after your trip. The people are nice there at least..

I booked this for my wife for a surprise anniversary gift. They need to show more interest in their current customer. End result looks good.

I love their work but they’re not punctual. I thought they were open at 10:30, got there at 9:45 because I know they always have a line at the door before they open. We waited until 10:45. I work 3rd shift and my coworker as well . Her daughter has class too . And with the not having a schedule that they can respect and customers I will not be going there anymore.

I went into the store asking questions so that Im not disappointed with the service. I paid for the deluxe pedicure. However, I had to ask the young man if he was going to work on my heels, etc. He said, oh you want that done. Of course Im paying for it. After he finished my feet looked exactly like they did before I sat down except my old polished was removed and new polish was applied. I spoke with the manager and problem was fixed.Im so happy I didnt have to leave disappointed.

My nails always look bomb and all the girls are always lovely. I love that they take their time making sure everything is perfectly filed and shaped.

Uh i’m not really mad but confused?? i made an appointment on the phone yesterday for me and my friend and when we arrived on time there was no one in the salon?? like the lights were off and no one was there lol so i do not know what happened

Everyone working was incredibly professional and helpful, and my nails look fantastic. The artistic skill here is undeniable. I will definitely be coming back + recommending Candy Nails to friends!

I would’ve gave them at least 4 stars if they didn’t tip themselves and taken 10$ my credit card. I payed over 130+ for nails not just myself and the next day I see they had taken an extra 10$ off for tips. This was a few months ago but just be aware to put a 0 for tip unless YOU are actually giving them one.

Love love LOVE this place! Super sweet and professional staff. My nails always look amazing and last for up to two months! I usually have to go back because my nails have grown out and I need a change. Nice atmosphere. Love the chrome powder! Great waxing services as well! This is the only place I go to get my nails done since moving from Denver.

They were good the first time I went for a full set of acrylics. Second time I went, however, they charged me $50 for a fill because of them having no chip on top of the acrylic. Its been 4 days and my nails are chipping everywhere. The polish was very thin, so I put some acetone on one nail and it took the polish off immediately because it was normal nail polish. They upcharged me almost double what it should’ve costs for a service I asked for but didn’t receive.

I had a full set of acrylics put in and they look better than any other salon I’ve been to! She triple checked every step and it was done in good timing too! Love love love, will definitely be back!

I dont get my nails done often, I came in today because I got some rough news and just needed to waste some time. Do something nice for myself. So I got a pedicure here, everyone was super friendly and they did a wonderful job! There was a lot to it beyond the usual, I think they did a hot stone massage? Never had that done before at a place, its very nice of them to add it. The price is really worth it. Thanks for everything today guys!

I have been going to Candy Nails for about 4 years and I have never received bad customer service or poor service. I have always been politely greeted at the door and they are sssooo patient! I am kind of indecisive and go through so many different phases yet the owners and their staff members always listen to me and try to collaborate with me on what I want and try to figure out what Im feeling! The shop is overall adorable! I have gotten their Express lashes, eyebrow wax and tinted, mustache wax, every kind of pedicure and nail service they offer and have never been disappointed. Vanessa and Julie really consider nails an art and relaxation therapy. They are so skilled people bring in random photos and they are honest on their limitations (which they barely have) and offer great suggestions without being overpowering!

I’ve had my nails done here twice. Once for prom and the other for my senior photos. They are the sweetest people I’ve met. They always make sure it’s to your liking. They do such a beautiful job. I can’t want to go back!

I went for the first time today and had an awesome experience. Lots of people came in which shows how much people like and trust this place. All of the staff was super nice and friendly. It was my first time getting a manicure and when I told my manicurist that she was super friendly and gave me tips and told me how to take care of my nails. Their prices are very reasonable and you are paying for quality work. I definitely recommend this place!!!

I absolutely love the environment at Candy Nails! I havent gotten my nails done in years because Ive always felt uncomfortable at nail salons with workers that dont really acknowledge their clients and just continue conversations with the other workers. Thats not the case for Candy Nails at all! Wonderful client engagement as well as a very welcoming environment! As for the nails, superb job! My nails were to die for! Executed what I wanted perfectly! HIGHLY RECOMMEND for anyone looking to get cute nails for a fairly decent price! Now off to the shop to get a fill.

They always make sure customers are satisfied before they leave and have a very friendly and welcoming staff. I’ve tried all of the nail salons in the area and this one is hands down the best. My most recent experience here was completely unacceptable. I informed the lady doing my nails that I was unhappy with the shape and length and she brushed me off and proceeded. When my nails were done I told her once more that I was not satisfied with them. This was when she brought the entire staff over to obvserve the work she had done and of course they all said they looked fine. I asked if she would redo them but again she rudely dismissed me saying they were fine. I can live with the poorly done nails for a week but I cannot stand being treated so terribly.

I have been apart of them since they opened Vanessa and her sister and all of them i love them so much they always do a amazing job 😘😘❤ however this time i was disappointed because i paid over 140 dollars for lashes aswell as my nails and feet and i gotten none chip Polish and my nail is chipped and had problems with my lashes since Vanessa done them so this time im very unsatisfied 😕

I came here for the first time today, and they were wonderful!! I did have to bring my 3 year old son with me and he was touching everything! It didnt seem to bother them at all! They were very nice and I gave the lady a great tip for dealing with my 3 year old!! I mean he wasnt over the top bad, just a normal 3 year old who is curious about everything!!! I will definitely be coming back to this place!!! But without my lil guy lol 😂

Worst shellac manicure Ive ever had. A male worker didnt remove my existing shellac (gel) polish correctly, just scraped it off with a metal tool. This left my nails thin and brittle. He also cut my cuticles too much leaving two of my fingers with scabs.Then he painted on my polish unevenly and very thin, so the color looks crappy. Just 5 days later and my nails are cracking, along with the polish, because of the way they took off my last polish. My nails have never cracked in the past. They also didnt file my nails very well so they get snagged occasionally which makes them split even farther.All of this, plus it costs about $5 more than other nail salons.

I was in Candy Nails with my mom when the big scary lady was yelling at the nice owner whom has been doing my nails the whole time Ive been at college here in Iowa City. This is the best place I have found in Iowa City to get my nails done, and eyebrows too! Even better than the downtown. If you give this place a bad review, you must have personal problems. Also, if you have the nerve to talk like that in public (speaking to the big scary lady) then you should re-evaluate your morals, there were children in there, and that is no way to speak even if children were not present. Also you had NO right to call the owner all the names that you did, you are a disgusting excuse for a customer. I wouldnt want you in my store anymore either, let alone anywhere near me. Thanks for the entertainment though! I caught it all on video and laugh at you daily. Its funny to me that there are people that are so ungrateful, and so self centered, and disrespectful. These people doing your nails are not slaves, you cant talk to people like that. They paint your damn nails, wax your eyebrows, and all the other things, they dont have to treat you like a princess, thats not their job. Youre far from a princess anyways. And youre not tough, youre sad and obnoxious. They gave you your money back so just back off nobody wants you there again, and whoever listens to you when you tell them that you dont recommend Candy Nails are also probably people like you who are disrespectful if they are your friends, so Im sure the owner doesnt care that you tell people not to go there! Shout out to the owner for having to deal with terrible customers like that, you did not deserve that!! Your nail salon is great! And I will continue to come back as long as I am here, I highly recommend it!

The owner of this place is very unprofessional, rude and confrontational. I will never go there again. I was treated very poorly. I went to this nail shop two weekends in a row and the place did not open up on time preferably about an hour and a half after what is posted on the door. So no it does not open at 10 am. I was not greeted when I walked in and had to ask for service. Then the owner attempted to put several customers in front of me. After I spoke up about it, she got very defensive loud and disrespectful instead of being apologetic. Then while I was paying for the pedicure that was done horribly so that can leave and go elsewhere, the owner began to be confrontational again instead of letting me leave in peace.The guy that did the pedicure attempted to shove me out of the store without providing me change from the payment I had made, while the owner is still yelling and jumping out of her seat. I am so glad I was able to walk away because I was furious after trying to stay humble. I had brought 5 customers to this place with me and because of her poor customer service she will loose plenty more customers. You just never know who the person maybe that you are servicing. My next step is to the better business bureau.
