This is my go to place after trying several others in the area. Its even a tad bit out of my way, but worth it. Annie is my favorite. Shes friendly. I never feel rushed and she gives the best pedicure. Husband and wife owned and theyre the sweetest pair.

Venus nails: I don’t know how to describe how amazing this business is!! They have completely transformed my nails from the damage of a total wreck of long-term healthcare work. Venus Nails have the best customer service I have ever experienced. They are artists, and such sweet people. They always produce quality work. On the rare occasion that I have a problem (usually MY fault), this team makes it even better. Love Venus Nails ❤️ This picture doesn’t give the Venus team justice, so I will post one with better light in the morning.

Im so disappointed. I have been very loyal to this salon and honestly my nails have been hit or miss. Today I went for a pedicure and full set w/ acrylic and shellac. I hate when I have to sit in a salon and micromanage getting my nails done. But if you dont point out clear flaws, they will ignore them. My pedicures have always been great. Today however, terrible. But my nails are what pushed me to write this review. And unfortunately I will never go back to this salon again. Very noticeable difference in how they treat their African American clients from everyone else. All upload pics if I am able. Plan on soaking my nails of tomorrow and going to another salon to get them done correctly.

AMAZING! They do phenomenal work in a really clean environment. Its easy to find. If youre severely anxious about going places like I am, I can tell you now, the location feels safe, the staff is ALWAYS so friendly, and the only Male that work here does his BEST to do or make your nails whatever you ask for! Id give it 10 stars if that was an option. The place I used to go to would always cut up my cuticles but the people here do phenomenal work!

Right when we came in they started on my nails and did it in great time. Took necessary precautions for Covid and great value and quality.

I come here with friends every 3 months or so for a girls day out pedi and lunch. Staff are always friendly and follow sanitary practices. The lounge chairs are very comfortable and have heat and massage options. I have also had gel nails done here and found the work to be meticulous and long wearing.

I have been going to this place for several months now. With the growing population of nail salons in the Iowa City area I definitely have many options. The staff is friendly and comfortable with explaining their services. They have a wide selection of services including nails and waxing. They have many manicure options including gel and dip. They use disposable liners to assure that conditions are sanitary each time you visit. They offer a free drink, including water, pop or wine with each visit.

I went to get a full set and a pedicure two days ago. Loved the pedicure but I do not like how my nails turned out! the polish does not last its only been 2 days and the polish is already coming off! I will be going today to get another layer of polish added only because I have a special occasion to attend but I do not recommend this place. Ive been getting my nails done for years and I kno how I want them to look! they will down talk you like you dont know what u talking about, about the services you ask for, even though you are paying for their services.

This was my first time at Venus Nails and they treated me like royalty. I had a regular pedicure and they removed shellac from my finger nails and did a regular polish manicure. Great service, quick and awesome prices!! I will for sure be back!!

First time at Venus nails and I had a lovely experience! I thought I would share my thoughts after seeing several negative reviews. I went today to get a dip mani and it turned out fantastic! It’s a very nice and clean place, not cramped like other salons. The man who answered the phone when I called also did my nails, he was extremely personable and professional - and funny too! I’m not sure if he was the store owner or not, but I would highly recommend him! Give it a chance, I was glad I did. I will say, he told me to call ahead especially on weekends. I just happened to walk in today and they did my nails right away but I might have just been lucky with the timing!

Great service decent quality and price

I have been having my nails done by the dipping method here for almost a year. I love this method of manicure. The place is very clean, workers are friendly and Travis makes every visit enjoyable. I have had pedicures and dip manicures and both have been done professionally done and last. I would give more than 5 stars if possible.

Venus is extremely clean and the staff is super friendly! They can get you in quick and do an amazing job. I have never been more pleased with another spa! Youre money will definitely be well spent and you wont regret coming here!:)

I have been here in the past an felt it was good. However today the experience was a horrible. With my nails the polish was not removed it was ripped off an 2 associates spoke non stop for 55 min. Never once did they speak to me. I will never go back.

The staff and service is the best around!! Everything is kept clean and tidy, even when they are busy. I come on a regular basis, but even new customers are always welcomed to the fullest as soon as they walk in!

They know my face when I walk in. I was new to the ‘dip’ process & Travis explained it to me very well. Needless to say I now have long healthy REAL nails that look and feel amazing every time I leave there. I also enjoy my pedicures and feeling relaxed while watching HGTV!

My first experience having a manicure and a pedicure, both of which I enjoyed a lot. My hands look awesome as do my feet but the lady who did my pedicure knicked my big toe. It was enough to make it bleed & she tried to treat it but it still hurts & Im treating it now. I dont know if it was her fault or mine but I still enjoyed the pedicure. I will still go back to Venus Nails when I need fillers and give them a second chance.

The lady who attended me was just very rude. I also really hated how my nails turned out. Had to fix them ones I got home. I had gone before and was very pleased, so the place isn’t terrible just depends on who you get. She just ruined my experience and I won’t be returning.

Used to really love coming into this shop but one of the employees is consistently rude to me! Every single time I come in she comes up with a different reason as to why she needs to add an extra $5 charge onto my bill. Today she lied to me and told me how this salon charges for “long nails” not sure if she just didn’t recognize me without my makeup on but I had been coming all summer and never had to pay this charge before. Really disappointed because even when I brought this up to her she didn’t budge on the price but had no explanation for me.

Terrible experience! The store owner/manager was rude and abrasive from the minute I walked in the door. Her tone was a lot different when speaking with the other customer, a white lady, who was in the store. Both the customer and I were surprised by the way she was speaking to me. The lady who did my nails was nice but did such a bad job painting my nails. I could’ve done it myself and it would’ve looked so much better. Overall, would not recommend!!

I have been to Venus a couple of times now and I love it! The place is always very clean. The staff is lovely and talented. I have been to a lot of nail salons. This one, for the price, is truly the best. They are consistent in their quality and know what they are doing. Everytime I leave there I feel truly relaxed. My mother has nerve pain and a toe nail issue she is self conscious about. (She had surgery on the nail years ago that did not go well so the growth of it is off.)They treated her with the upmost care. I have had issues with nail salons in the past but never here. They made my Mom feel, and her nails look, so good. For me, that is everything. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Everyone was so nice! I felt so relaxed and I feel like my money was well spent on my pedicure. I definitely recommend this place 100 percent.

The lady that did my nails was completely rude. She yanked my hand around and blamed me when she made a mistake. She would poke my hand with her nail if my fingers were in her way. She also got my skin in the bottom corner of my nail and did it to not only one of them but multiple and she knew she did it. She had the worst attitude ever. Not planning on going back there ever.

Nails fell off after 6 days which NEVER happened to me before. I’m guessing this is due to NO NAIL DRYING STATION Nail tech sang the whole entire time doing my nails and was giving his opinion that I chose the wrong colors when I never asked him trying to convince me to change it so he can get the perfect before and after picture for his site.

Horrible place. I went to do my dipping powder nails and the lady was super cranky and mean. She did not let me choose another color which I preferred. When I asked her about the finish being lumpy she just scoffed and acted like I was being high maintenance. No customer service skills and rude from start to finish. Don’t go here!.

I got pedicure and the lady that did my toes didnt do it like I wanted! I been here before and love the person that does my toes and nails usually! However I spoke with the manager Travis and he fix the problem! Im happy now! My toes look good! Will go back again!

Staff here were very gracious and accommodating. This is the cleanest nail salon I have seen.

Horrible service. They dont properly sanitize their instruments between clients, even for pedicures. The older lady tries to get away with doing the bare minimum and skips steps unless you watch her like a hawk, and the younger woman adds on additional charges when you go to pay that you werent told of before. Also they do a sloppy job overall and are very unprofessional. Wont be returning again.

We went to Venus Nails and Spa to get manis and pedis before my wedding. The staff was kind and efficient in helping my bridal party prep for my special day!

Just went there. It was CLEAN and they were NICE!!! As a total bonus my nails are excellent!! Total win!
