I did a gel manicure, and WOW, fastest manicure of my life. Took 18 minutes exactly. Only complaints I have are the nail tech was a little rough with clipping my nails, could have taken her time with cleaning out my cuticles, and cleaned her area before working on my nails. There was a used band aid just sticking to the table, a used towel with dust etc from previous customers, and I just wouldve appreciated the station to be sanitized before I was asked to sit. BUT I could have said something in the moment and did not, so that could be my fault. Over all, this was my first nail appointment that I had that actually started at the time of my booking and did not make me wait like most places do. They made my appointment time a priority and I appreciated it.

The first time I went here, I was getting nails done for my vacation. Jessica was AMAZING. She did the best nail art design I’ve ever had done and the shape with the nails was phenomenal. I was set on going back, so when I called ahead to make my appointment for the next time, I specifically asked to have Jessica do my nails. They said of course and I made my appointment. When I got there, they did not have me with Jessica, I asked if I could be switched and they said no even though that is who I made my appointment with. I didn’t mind at first because they all had to be good at nails I would think, but I was wrong. The lady who did my nails cut me several times and the dip was so uneven. I decided to blow that off and give them a last try. When I went 2 weeks ago to get my nails done before vacation, the girl obviously didn’t know how to apply tips on right as they were barely even attached and the tips were cutting into the sides of my skin. As she was doing the dip, she was painting literally on my skin. As she was taking the electric tool and thinning them down, she cut every single one of my fingers around the cuticle area to the point of them bleeding and still did not even get the dip and the hardening polish off of my skin. My nails were falling off not even 4 days after. They are now grown out and look absolutely horrible, they make my fingers look extremely wide when they are very small. It looks like I got cheap walgreens nails glued on to my real nails and not to mention the color that I got looks like it is turning orange. I won’t be returning, not for this service.

If there’s one reason not to go here it’s their poor sanitation. I could tell that their tools had been reused and the workers did no cleaning of themselves, me, or their tools. I will be making a couple calls after my girlfriend’s nail became infected. The service was terrible, there was no sense of professionalism or respect from any of the employees. Not only were they unclean but their workers are too incompetent to even do a simple design. Avoid this place.

When the lady first started my nails everything seemed fine. I had gotten acrylics, she glued the tips on and snapped them, everything was okay. But when it came to do the acrylic you could tell she was rushing a bit. I wasn’t too bothered by that, what had bothered me was the fact that when she was trying to thin out the nails, she cut / burned me like 6 times. Made two of my fingers bleed near the cuticle and quite honestly I’ll never go back. I’m happy with the shape but overall it just wasn’t a pleasant experience. Especially for how much they charge.

Tried coming here for the first time and made an appointment. Salon is first come first serve despite allowing people to make appointments. They were very busy. Waited 45 minutes before deciding to leave given that there were still several others waiting who were there when I arrived.

Just another nail salon that accepts everyone that walks in, dont even bother making an appointment. We had 3 manicures for 2pm. Immediately the owner said it would be a 15 minute wait. Finally after 45 minutes my manicure started. Annnd wrong color. My technician acted like it was my fault that THEY didnt have the right nail sample matched with the bottle. You need to open the bottle to make sure its the right color. So on top of everything else, the staff wasnt even apologetic or nice and acted like we were a bother.

I wish they would give the discount on Friday because I called on Tuesday to make the appointment thats the only thing that I wish they were excellent

Made a reservation and got in 45 minutes late. Walked away multiple times during my appointment. Employees were not friendly. I got dip on my nails and it was poor quality. Too thick, uneven, and chipped. 0/10 would not recommend. Would do my business elsewhere.

It was the worst experience in my life, the owners are really bad with the customers, they speak to you with totally disrespect and the ladies always are speeding to finish soon. I never wanna come back to this terrible place. The worst customer service in my life.

I have been to many nail salons in my life but this nail salon exceeds my expectations more each time I go in. Not only do I leave happy with my nails but with great service. And without a doubt they always want to ensure they’re doing their best. They were friendly and speedy. Im happy with the job they did. I got dip powder for the first time, but I think I prefer acrylic (which is no reflection on them). They had a wide selection of both polish and dip powder colors.

I went in to get a regular acrylic manicure and went to pay and they charged me 50 dollars. My sister was charged 60 because her nails were longer. This was ridiculous and very frustrating. Every other nail salon I’ve gone to has never charged this much. It’s always be under 40. Also the girl cut my skin several times. I willl not be going there again. I recommend going to the salons downtown. Much better.

I LOVE Grace Nails! Tuli (sp?) gives the best leg massages when I get a pedi and my toenails always look perfect when shes done. The prices are competitive, the chairs are new and wonderfully comfortable, and the owner is always over-the-top accommodating. Its my favorite nail salon in Iowa City.

They literally painted my nails the wrong color and proceeded me to treat me extremely rude saying it was the same color (it clearly was different) and refused to give me a discount. Never going back.

Best pedicure ever

I just got my nails done here for the first time. The girl who did my nails made them all different lengths and when I told her they weren’t even, she argued with me about them being the same length. I paid $5 for her to make them a coffin shape and only 4 of them are the coffin shape, the rest are square. She then started talking poorly about me to the worker next to her but I was able to understand them as I speak the same language.... horrible customer service.

The good-They got me in last minute which I appreciated.The bad- the lady doing my pedicure seemed mad the entire time and did not converse with me at all except to ask me if I wanted my toenails trimmed and if they looked okay at the end. I did a basic pedicure and spent more then I spend at my regular place when I get gel and a design. I think it was kind of overpriced. Two of my nails polish chipped within 3 days. I will not be going back.

This place was awful and I should have walked out when my technician kept burning my nails with an old dremmil file. I mad this appointment days ago, and I asked them if they are able to do the foil nails I wanted for a special event. They assured me that they could. THEY CANNOT!The technician kept getting the foil messed up didnt apply correctly then the owner and the man w/o was there doing nails (says he owns Three Samurai Restaurant, kept telling me it was my fault. She routinely failed to turn on UV light and again blamed me.At the end, I politely said I was not particularly satisfied, and the man told me that it was.not their fault as they need 3 hours to do this technique.I paid and tipped in full! I have lumpy, bumpy, irregular, sticky nails and I left there in tears from being humiliated and having to pay for a horrible job. I even called later to see if I can set up a time for correction. They said NO because I already left and they dont stand by their results. If you want a quality end product with a pleasant atmosphere, steer clear of Grace Nails and their team of incompetents!

Tina was incredibly rude. Got angry with me a minimum of 4 times (I was literally just sitting there) and burned/cut me twice. I’ve been here and had Tina at least 6-7 times over the last year or so and she never has a better attitude. Will never return.

I only have had positive experiences at this salon. The prices are reasonable if you book in advance with an additional discount. I usually get a nail dip and they last for up to a month. I recently got my nails done by Sara and her work is AMAZING! I love love this place.

Too much pressure while taking off my dip and buffed my nails until they were red and SOFT. They look terrible and feel soooo thin. They are the worst I have ever seen.

Pedicure was overpriced. They didnt do a hot stone massage or paraffin wax but had the audacity to charge $30. For what? What is the value of that Pedicure. I bring my wife to get pedicures regularly so I know what value we should receive for the cost. We wont come back.

This was one of the worse experiences I have ever had. My appointment was at 9am. The salon owner didnt arrive until 9:30. I had to be gone by 10:30. He then argued with me for 20 minutes after I said that I was a regular there and just needed to be in and out and it wasnt personal. Sarah does great work but the customer service here is awful!

Absolutely the worst experience at a nail salon. I have now had 3 bad experiences with this place. When you walk in they dont greet you they say what do you need they are not accommodating what so ever, they filed my nails down until they were practically bleeding and were not friendly at all during the whole experience. 2 days after I got dip, my nails were coming off so I went in to get them fixed and they charged me $10?!?!?!? Everywhere else I go it is completely free and they are HAPPY to do it. They were complete snobs about having to fix my nail that wasnt probably put on properly. I now go to Galaxy nails and am treated very well. Get your things together Grace or you will lose all your buisness.

The worst $60 Ive ever spent for a full set. My nails are filed down almost raw!!!!!! My husband got my nails done for valentines day. 2 days later they all popped off! Ive been going to candy nails and this has NEVER EVER! Happend. We work hard for our money! They dont care and you can feel it when you get service from them, And the staff was VERY RUDE! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! Go to candy nails downtown iowacity! You get quality service hands down. I wouldnt even give them 1 star.

Beware of pricing. Example: you are told 20% off if you make an appointment but charged extra to remove old polish ? What...very deceiving. So 33.oo for dip nails + 5.oo to remove old polish an a discount if you pay cash. Hmmm. Not a deal to me...and not told upfront....good luck.

Ive had two dip manicures here and three nails break afterwards... Would recommend Galaxy Nails over them.

The best nail salon in Iowa City. Very clean salon and they do an excellent job. Went here one time on a whim and haven’t gone anywhere since.

The salon looked nice. I came in at a time they were busy, I think. No one greeted me and when they asked me what I wanted done, he told me, we cant do it. He didnt give me a wait time or a reason/apology. It was awkward and I felt embarrassed in front of all the others there. Then it didnt help when the next person walks in and they greeted them so friendly and sat her right down. I was never asked if I had an appointment or not. I wasnt aware that they will turn you away if youve gone some where else for nails if you already have them done or they would treat you as a non-priority. Im not sure if that was a case of discrimination but due to the lack of customer service and professionalism, I would not recommend. As I said before, if this was kindly mentioned to me upfront, all of this could have been avoided. I didnt know any of this until they responded to a fb review of mine.
