The owner, V, is amazing and so sweet. They do a great job with nails, but I brag about their lash extension service to everyone I know! V did my lash extensions for 2+ years and they looked amazing every single time. Her technique makes them look more natural and full because she carefully does each layer, rather than clumping in multiples for volume. When I took really good care of them, theyd last me 4-6 weeks. V is gentle, professional, and does a wonderful job. Id recommend her in a heartbeat.

Best place in the area for manicures, pedicures and eyelash extensions!! V is knowledgeable and experienced. This is the only place I trust for eyelash extension and they always look amazing. The space is clean and professional.

They are THE BEST in town for manicures (both gel and dip), and have a large variety of colors to choose from! Their COVID procedures (temp checks at the door, appointments online, mandatory hand washing/sanitizing, masks, plexiglass barriers, etc) make you feel safe enough to still get your nails done. If you’re looking for a high quality nail salon in the corridor, V’s is definitely it!

Such a good experience! I got a gel manicure, and it was fantastic! They took such good care of my nails, and did a wonderful job shaping and painting them. They feel so smooth and healthy now! My color is so bright and vibrant, and it makes me happy every time I look at it!The ladies there were so patient with me, since it was my first time, and even though I was nervous and made a few mistakes, they made sure that I had a great experience and came out with fantastic nails.

Very please with how my nails turned out! Dip nails cost $35. Would have given five stars, but customer service could have been better - felt very rushed to pick a color, difficult to communicate with, and pressured into giving your phone number/email at checkout.

Ive been coming to Vs since they opened. Now Ive moved away from Iowa, but I still go every time Im back. They do an amazing job, and my nails last forever. Most recently, I came with my bridesmaids before my wedding, and the ladies at Vs made it so special for us! Love, love, love.

I had a little wait but once they got me in, they were prompt, detailed and did a nice job. My nails look awesome! And reasonably priced!

Very bad customer service. Only go here if you are prepared to spend 3+ hours. Gone here a couple time but regret it every time. It took them 3 hours to do acrylics because only one person in the store knew how to do them. Due to my schedule I had to leave without them being completely dried. They smudged and when I went back they would not fix them. Other times they have done the wrong service that I asked for and when I asked them to stop they said no next time we will do what you want. They also have a little kid running around the entire time. He can be cute but it is not a relaxing experience. Would not go here.

Walked in and was greeted very nicely. I was fit in right away for a full set of acrylic nails with gel polish and eyebrow waxing. V was very fast and did an excellent job on my nails ! Fastest set ever but very still very attentive to detail. They don’t have the full laying down eyebrow waxing chair but she did just tilts your head back and does an excellent job. Again she was very quick and honestly this is the least pain I have ever felt with an eyebrow waxing. She was so efficient she barely had to twease after. I am very satisfied with my experience and will be back!

Vs is the absolute best place to go for manicures and pedicures! They are all so kind and take time to make your nails look beautiful. I have been going here for the last 6 years and will not try any other nail salon because I know I will be disappointed in comparison. They are always very busy so you may have to wait a bit, but you will not be disappointed. All of the ladies that work there are so sweet! Highly highly recommend

The first time I had my nails dipped, the beautician made them rather thick. The second time I went in, I asked another beautician if she could make them thinner. She did, and explained how she was going to do it.The women who work here are conscientious and they do a really nice job. They respond to questions and concerns. As a piece of advice, if you are new to dip, be aware that colors will look more intense on your nails than they look on the samples you choose from.

V’s is the only place in Iowa City that I go to! All of their nail techs are great at what they do and well educated in nails. I get a gel manicure every few weeks and gel pedicures frequently and am pleased every time. V’s lash extensions are so naturally beautiful as well. Would recommend this place to anyone!

Ive only been here for lash services but I have loved them every time V has done my lash extensions. She takes her time on them as every lash tech should. I have never had glue clumping or where you can visibly see the glue clumping with her. They are in a busy location and it isnt a huge place so unless you want them to rush on you in efforts to get people in and out, expect to wait a little. Everyone is nice and polite to me but I am also nice and polite to them. My face doesnt feel the same without Vs lashes. I have a hooded eyelid and the lashes turn out really good.

I was priced one amount and then told another when they started.I felt rushed and because of that my nails were not the same length.I also asked for a simple cross to be put on one finger on both hands. She put the cross on two differant fingers and when I tried to point it out she didnt understand.The place wasnt even busy so the mistakes and being rushed shouldnt happen.Because of this I wouldnt recommend this place. I will go back to Candy Nails I think.

I go here for no-chip manicures about once a year, and they do a REALLY good job. I feel like this place is always packed, and the women are working on multiple customers nails at the same time, but it has never taken me more than an hour, and the no chip is done so well, the one i currently have is already 2 weeks old, and though growing out, remains unchipped. They look like acrylics. I work in a place where i use hand sanitizer 100x a day and still, they look great. I have previously worked in a bar and had their no chip and even bar-tending didnt ruin these for at least 2 weeks, which you will know is AMAZING if you have ever bar-tended.

They will tell you that they can do your nails right away but then they will make you wait around for 15-20 minutes before even taking your nail polish off. It has happened to myself, my mom and my friends on multiple occasions. It can take up to 3 hours for a pedicure! No exaggeration. The place is unsanitary and the employees often switch from one persons nails to the next without washing their hands. The person who starts on your nails will probably not be the person who ends on your nails. They jump around because they are so understaffed.

Their work is pretty decent but I’ve had to wait over an hour to get a simple manicure. They start your nails and work on other people at the same time as they work on you. They don’t respect your time and help other customers before they help you if they know them. Terrible service, I felt like an underappreciated customer.

This is not your impulse nail salon! I stopped here when I was in town to see my family. I was asked if I had an apt but if I didnt mind waiting they would work me in. I was pleasantly surprised. I wasnt rushed and left feeling pampered and relaxed! I would go here everytime if I lived in the area!!

What I would describe as a “rough” manicure. Didn’t handle my hands very gently. Cut my cuticles in several places and proceeded to put nail polish remover in the cuts. I got acrylic French tips, and the bottoms of them are chipping only a week after, which I’ve never had happen. Long wait too. Good prices, but overall not a good manicure.

They burnt my face when they did my wax. Would not recommend. I went back and showed them my burns that were scarring and they told me to tell them to be careful next time.

The staff seemed nice, but I went in for a French no chip and it turned out awful. They misshaped my nails after at least three objections to the shape on my end. In addition, the manicure looked sloppy because the white was completely jagged. It completely chipped off within two weeks and ruined my nails. It was very reasonable for a no chip in price, just not quality.

TERRIBLE PLACEThe lady hung up on me when I called the next day to make a compliant about the gel nails. So rude and told me she didnt have time for this. I am travelling out of town and didnt want to go with these horrid nails so I asked her kindly. During the service/when she was doing my nails, I told her I didnt like it and she told me too late. Literally told me TOO LATE! And then when I call back the next day to tell her about my complaint, she is being rude and mean and then HUNGS UP ON ME! WILL NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL

I usually get a mani-pedi once a month and recently fell in love with the powder nails so have been getting them filled and color changed every 2-3 weeks (my nails grow enough in that time it becomes noticeable). Ive had a wonderful experience every time Ive gone. Minimal wait time (15-20min total when theyre busy and ~7min on average) so I usually dont bother to make an appointment. The stylists always ensure Im happy with the length, shape, and color with plenty of time to change in case something is off (which it rarely is). Ive only had a nail turn out funny once (I was a dolt and didnt notice I clipped the wet gel on the way into the UV light) and it was fixed quickly and with no extra charge! In short, Vs is great. By far my favorite nail salon in Iowa City.

Literally one of the worst manicures I’ve ever gotten. Waited 45 mins which was fine cause I understand it’s Friday and they were busy, but then was moved around to three different stations throughout when it was finally my turn (one of which was a pedicure chair and I was not getting a pedicure). Then my nails were filed completely uneven even though I asked them if they could even them out more two times, and they were really rough when doing my cuticles. Also the lady doing my nails kept switching back and forth between me and two other customers. It took me two hours to get a regular manicure, and they were painted super streaky. I wish I would have read the other bad reviews before spending almost $20 on a manicure which I then took the polish off of myself when I got home. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Ive had my nails done here for years and have always had great service. The employees are really nice and care about the quality of work they do. Granted they are usually busy because of their great downtown IC location, just give then the courtesy of calling ahead to make a scheduled appointment and then you only have to wait about 5 mins! The no chip manicure has always been done perfectly and most times Im able to wear it for 6 weeks, even though I work with my hands, the manicure holds up really well! Looking forward to my next mani/pedi!

Didnt care for the place. Not very clean. They cut my cuticle on my toe and didnt seem to care at all. Went with a friend and on her pedicure they used an old looking uv lamp and she had to balance it which was very awkward. Wont return.

All of my nails are very crooked, terrible customer service, I told the lady how long I wanted them and she went to show me and I said no I wanted them longer and she just went ahead and cut them short anyway and didnt listen to me at all! One woman switched back and forth between my friend and I and it took about two hours to get them done!
