Fast Service Pick up and Drop off and theyll give UPGRADES when running Low on Rentals READY to go. I was upgraded from a compact to a Full Size Luxury Car and I paid less than$40 a Day Unlimited Mileage. 2020 Ford Fusion Titanium Blue really NICE VEHICLE and I was HAPPY to have it for My Trip being it was 800 miles one way & I needed it for the round trip. ABSOLUTELY COMFORTABLE with leather Cool and heated seats I was GRATEFUL for the Upgrade afterwards because I was tired and Im sure that it would have been much more tiring having been in the original Compact Car Id rented without thinking about the COMFORT. HERTZ has GREAT Prices too it takes a little bit of checking to get the better prices but its WELL WORTH the few extra minutes.
Lied to me. Paid 800 for a suv then wanted more money after I paid and a credit card
NO cars!Hertz on the phone promised us- Hurricane Ida evacuees that had a car wreck in Houston- a reserved car at this location for 383 managers special. when we got there they said that they had no cars except a very expensive one that costs special insurance. DO NOT BELIEVE A SINGLE THING HERTZ TELLS YOU ON THE PHONE (or online!). You cannot call the actual office and find out what cars are really there: and apparently, neither can they!
Couldn’t be happier with the service, Keisha was super helpful through the whole process and renting the car was super easy. Just for the amazing service we would consider Hertz as our first option next time we need a rental car.
Customer service is a jokeWhen trying to call, you can only get ahold of call center who is not willing to help.I needed help with having someone else returning my car. I was put on mild bed rest (8 months pregnant) and cannot drive 30 minutes during tropical storm with 2 yr old to return and uber back.My fiance is able to return for me, but he wasnt added as added driver (we had no idea this would happen). When I told situation and asked for a solution or help, the woman said sorry maam no. When I asked if he returned anyway, she told me he would be arrested. I went to local hertz, they said he could return and not be arrested. The added stress was ridiculous especially with blood pressure high, hence bed rest.
Horrible managers!!!! Always talking down to their employees. My niece used to be a Robert half for hertz and they treated them like trash because of I guess they weren’t hired through hertz which is disrespectful because they still work for you. Horrible company who doesn’t care for employees !!!!
Purchased a rental to take a 6 hour trip to south Texas only to later find out that my vehicle had no windshield wiper fluid. I felt very unsafe driving at night in said vehicle with the large amount of bugs on my windshield that impaired my vision. As a company that prides themselves in the safety of there customer, something as simple as wiper fluid should have been addressed and rectified prior to distributing vehicles to customers.
Keagan was absolutely amazing. Super friendly, very timely, and super knowledgeable about HERTZ! Simply a pleasure to encounter! Thank you so much
Wonderful lot had plenty cars to choose from, just couldn’t help but overhear a manager talking about their employees in a negative way to another customer, horrible way to lead by example, and from what I saw that employee was working very hard in the conditions they had
Car was not cleaned!First, customer service was slow and not helpful. They didnt ask for my billing address before running my credit card and caused my cc to be declined. I had to call to unlock my account. Then I get in the vehicle and it smells very strongly of fast food, but I thought maybe someone had eaten just before dropping off. So I just opened the windows to air it out. Come to find out later that there are french fries all over the floor and even a chickfila box under the drivers seat. I could not see it before because it was dark. The car even had the gold clean sticker on the door when I picked it up. I doubt it was sanitized at all.... Dont rent from Hertz unless you want COVID...
Dont go with Hertz... You have better options. Tried to call their call center for the last 2 days, stood 1h30 min on wait... No answer.Returned the car in a different location (same city) and got a $150 surcharge.
Took a flight from Indianapolis to Houston. Flight took around 2 hrs. Went to rent a car from Hertz. Line was really long with only 3 agents working. Stood in line for around over 1 hr 15min. Once I got in the vehicle it smelled like smoke. My wife has allergies. Also, 2/4 tires showed low tire pressure. One of the two tires was extremely low. In fairness to Hertz, the one thing they did do right is let me switch vehicles after I complained. However, when this was all said and done I had spent around 2 hours at the car rental center. It took about the same time to fly from Indy to Houston as it did to rent a car! Hertz boast about their JD Power Customer Service Ratings in past years and being #1. However, if they keep this up, they will find quickly they will fall behind. I wasnt the only one in line frustrated by the 1hr+ wait as we all had plenty of time to chat.
Upon arrival I had a voucher for my rental and both my husband and I were present. Because I didn’t have a credit card and the voucher had a free extra driver I asked the agent if I could turn the car over to my husband and allow him to use his card they told me no. I then told them I rented yesterday with them and I did this exact thing and they told me oh the guy did you a favor. I said favor he don’t know me am from the Bahamas and this is Texas I didn’t need his favor just do his job. She refused to hear me out so I then called customer service of Fort Lauderdale in which they spoke and got them to rent me the vehicle. Then when my husband used his debit card and she told me oh am breaking another rule because am not supposed to rent you a mini van with a debit card. I just bit my lip and said nothing. Every time I rent with Hertz it’s another rule. I hate it there. This will be my last time renting from them. I HATE IT
I booked a 7 seats vehicle, and initially they were trying to give a 5 seater, once I got the so called 7 seater, even though not a practical or good vehicle, later when it rained I found out it had a water leakage on the windshield, unfortunately this happened while I was on the road and had to stop for safety. I tried and call, but my call was never answered, I sent a tweet and given the complications of having the unit replaced, they only made a record, I purchased Road assistance, but again this issue did not qualify as such. After all and my comments, they now sent me a toll charge, which I pay in cash at the toll booth, so rather than being compensated I keep getting charged, have rented many vehicles from many other companies, this was my first and last time with Hertz, which arent neither the cheapest out there
Not only is this the best Hertz location Ive rented from but its is by far the absolute best rental car location Ive ever visited hands down. They always have an excellent selection of clean new cars that are always nicely loaded with options. The premium cars are phenomenal. The staff here are always professional and courteous. These people know how to retain customers. I absolutely love the service I always receive here. If you need a rental car for whatever reason, you need to rent it from this location. The cars and the staff at this location are exceptional.
Checked in at IAH.I had originally paid for full size sedan. At first, the agent attempted to rip me off by an unsolicited upgrade of the rental to a sport car.when I called it out, she gave me a compact car.
Keyshia Washington in the Hertz outside in the Golds member area is amazing she really helped me out after thrifty car rentals screwed me after I wait in line with a infant for almost 2 hours she went all the way out her way for me just wanted to say thanks and I really appreciate it will be renting from her again
Hertz was great after Dollar had us wait two hours for a car. They ended up getting vehicles from Hertz when they ran out.
Horrible experience. People there are uneducated and not trained. They don’t know how to work their own system. I called was put on hold for 10 min only to be hung up on. They don’t care and suck at their job. I have no clue how they are still in business. 0 stars if possible
This was our first time renting with Hertz. We picked up at Indianapolis Intl airport. The attendant working was adamant that the Hertz policy was that we had to purchase done form of their insurance to rent a car. I was sure this was wrong, as I had rented with other companies before, and out insurance covered us.It was around midnight on 6/24 and the rentals were sold out. The attendant used this to his leverage and forced us to purchase the insurance. Upon checking the next day, we discovered this was not Hertz policy. We couldnt however get in contact with anyone willing to resolve this issue and are still looking for the insurance portion back. Customer service has been horrible and everyone seems to pass the buck. I hope a resolution is in the near future since this attendant violated business ethics and flat out lied.
I rented a car from this location, the AC only worked when the vehicle was moving, I didn’t have time to go back and switch the car, also the vehicle was making a loud noise because of a exhaust leak. I wish they could inspect the vehicles before renting them out.
Say they are open til midnight and someone will be there for delayed flights. Arrived at 10:15. Found out they closed 9:00 that night yet had plenty of cars on lot. Good luck in bankruptcy.
I reserved a car at the rate of $68/day for 4 days (see attached picture). Then when I went to the counter the lady tried hard to sell me services and I said no to all of those. I look at the paper it says $515, I asked how, and she said the $200 will be paid back when I bring the car back. I took her word, I was tired after a long flight and I did not check the details clearly. Now I compare the reservation price with what she charged my credit card, instead of $379, I am paying $514 because she added all the services I said no to (see attached pictures). Im so sad why such a big company has these malpractices to rip off customers hard earned money.By the way, I was a Gold Plus Rewards in Hertz after using them for more than a year when I was doing consulting. And this is what I get for Gold Plus.
Terrible customer service, never using Hertz. Not like it matters or that it will hurt their bottom line much but at least I can tell people to use any company but them.
Impossible to get a hold of. Have failed to pick up the phone after waiting on hold for a couple hours. Sorry Hertz, you need better customer service.
Very bad experience. Lady at counter doesn’t talk and shows faces as of she is giving car for free. Gentleman at car port is kind but gave wrong vehicle even after I upgrade. Then I went back for exchange of better vehicle then making us wait never hear us out. Also they won’t refund money for cancellation
Buyer beware! DO NOT rent from here, they will close on you without notice and leave you stabbed at the airport- I am speaking from experience. Look to Avis or Enterprise, there’s a reason why Hertz went bankrupt, also all of the employees at this location are very incompetent! Used to be a daily Hertz user, no longer- terrible company.
Rude staff, poor customer serviceIt’s not everyone but one is enough for me to never rent there again. I walked up to one of the staff that was wiping off the counter and said “ excuse me may I ask you a question?”. She responded “I am so sick of this. I’m not even on the clock. Step back away from the counter sir” I did not say anything and I obliged her. She then said “step back further”. Once again I did then she turned and walked away. I then went to and rented from another company at the IAH car rental terminal. I did file a complaint with corporate but still have received no response.
Really bad experience, enrolled on gold club or so, attendant disnt find a car for me, gave me an upgrade, on exit gate attendant told me that car was 95 more a day than i had paid, (an infinity q80 with 40k miles). Car beoke down, called hertz and never had a roadside assistance, went to hertz and i was told they cant do nothing but send me to pep boys, I spent 3 hours in a shop fixing your car, and you never send approval for new battery. Not nice.
Education is necessary. They even don’t checked the confirmation number and said no car available even I booked online. The lady said she can not provide a car if I scheduled less than 24 hours, which there is not such a policy .....
I rented a minivan from this Hertz location for two days (5/19 – 5/20). I returned the vehicle to the drop-off area at the Rental Car Center at IAH ~36 hours into my rental (before the time I specified). Once at the rental center, I followed the posted instructions to pull up into one of the parking spots and leave the key in the vehicle. There was no attendant for Hertz present at the return area at that time (I believe the rental center had lost power earlier that day and was busy with many other customers), so I decided to take some pictures as proof that I arrived when I said I did. These pictures would prove to be more useful than I ever could have imagined). For the entire weekend, immediately after returning the vehicle, I received recurring charges of $100 (Hertz customer service is not available on the weekend, so I had no other option but to wait). I contacted Hertz first thing Monday morning and customer Service told me they would handle it, but I received another charge on Tuesday. I reached out again, and after explaining that I returned the car five days ago, I was told that the issue will be handled and that I would receive a refund. Imagine my surprise when I received a final charge of $423 and a bill totaling over $1000 for a 6-day rental that I RETURNED WITHIN 36 HOURS 15 minutes after getting off the phone with customer service (CS). I call CS back immediately, only for them to tell me that they cannot confirm that I did not have the vehicle for six days and therefore could not refund me. I was told to send any evidence I had proving otherwise to customer service, which I did (photos, geotags, license plate number, etc.). After waiting ten days (the maximum waiting time specified by Hertz) for a response and receiving none, I reached out again. CS told me how sorry they were and that they would reach out to this rental center to confirm what I was telling them. They also asked me to send them the photos again, which I did. During this time, I received a toll charge for the rental passing through a toll gate on 5/23. Note that this is three days after I returned the car. This would indicate to me that they rented a car that they thought was still contracted to me to another individual. I was receiving charges for someone elses rental. How? I have no idea. Another ten days passed, no update. I call back again; CS tells me they have no updates for me. I’m asked to send my photos again; they promise they will look at them immediately this time while I’m on the phone. Finally, they authorize the refund. Why was I made to go through all of this for almost a month if they could have just looked at the pictures and geotags and given me my refund from the start? The incompetence of this Hertz location (being unable to keep track of who has their vehicles) and Hertz customer service (pushing me down the road ten days at a time, wasting my time) is incompressible. This the last time I will be renting anything from Hertz if I can help it.
Simple, Great new hybrid vehicle the lady at the desk very helpful and the return experience was great to al super eazy, we took the shuttle on the second floor and head to the airport. 👍🎉🎊💪🏽
Pleasant but arrogant service.I’ve been to the kiosk 3 times and they keep refusing my out of country driver’s license which is not in English because “they can’t read it” they didn’t even approve of using google translate to verify !!!The company website clearly states that the country of origin license must be present and valid but an IDP is not required, only recommended. The state of Texas does not prevent international drivers with no IDP … I kept going back and forth with the manager and the attendant about why they are not following their own company and state rules because they can’t read my ID because it’s in Arabic ….Please someone report this discrimination and arrogance !
Wow! Best place to rent a car in Houston. Drove to Austin and back, a little flustered returning car but Spiros made the entire exchange a dream. Will definitely use them in future. Spiros is the BEST!
Oh boy I should have read the reviews. Let me see. First they told me the price for the weekend would be 400. Then I called to reserve and they said 500 (whatever I can manage) then when I get to the location they tell me 680. Now when I checked my bank account it showed 750! Scam artists is what they are. Also the customer service over the phone and in person was very ridiculous. No one did their job correctly. The car I was supposed to receive wasn’t available. Then the car I was offered I was told the key was inside. It was not. I had to find the employee across the lot and tell her to get me another car. I wouldn’t recommend this rental agency at all.
Everything was great except they gave me the car missing a quarter tank of gas and then when I complained upon turning it in. They offered me no credit.
My husband owns a company and travels for work a lot. He is a member of the Hertz President Circle. He enjoys the benefit of not having to wait in line to rent a car and I justify paying more for a rental car through Hertz than the other companies because this is an amazing benefit. I am disappointed in Hertz after my experience yesterday. We left in plenty of time to get gas and return our car to the airport, but something came up on our way there and we didn’t have time to stop for gas. My husband said that we will just have them fill it up and pay a little extra for gas. When he talked to the Hertz employee ( whom was very kind) he explained it would be $10/gallon to fill up. Really??? I see paying $1-2 dollars more per gallon... but $8 more per gallon is robbery. If Hertz can’t make this right, then I will be calling around to other companies to see what they have to offer as incentives for our company’s/ husbands travel.
At the deskFriendly, but confused and little annoying lady. Getting stuff ready took forever (20+ minutes).Picking up the carWe rented a SUV. First we got offered a terrbile mini van looking Kia. After showing dislike of that vehicle we were supposed to go to the gold aisle and pick a vehicle there. Instead we got rerouted to the aislebefore that. As is turned out this must have been the junkers with 20k+ miles. We got to pick between two Ford Edges. And we definitely picked the wrong one. Dude from South Africa working out there was super friendly. The carOutside had scratches, dings, dents, a crack in the rear bumper. Worse than Thrifty, Dollar, or Budget vehicles. Seriously.Getting out the first time on the passenger side, my wife could hardly get the door to open. On closer examination you could see that the gaps around the door and onthe whole right-hand side were uneven. The passenger door didnt close all the way on the bottom either. Seems like the car was in an accident before and got poorly fixed. Also, the lift gate had to be POWER SLAMMED shut everytime. Else the car would complain Lift Gate Ajar.Tire pressure on the right back wheel was too low (32 psi instead of 37 and 38 psi for the other wheels). But I never picked up a car at IAH where the tire pressure was ok on all wheels. The GPSNeverlost system. Didnt charge via USB, needed 12 V. Didnt stay mounted, my wife had to hold it, while it was in use. Navigation function was good.Always enjoyed renting and driving cars in Texas. Not this time. :(
Impossible to get ahold of. Typical hertz
Always a good experience. I was able to use points to book this for free but otherwise the rates are crazy. Covid had this whole hertz lot empty it was oddly surreal.
Mixed feeling bout Hertz... their bad, weird or shady policies outweight the goodwill of some of the employees... and some other employees are downright rude or have no empathy... I guess thats why they went bankrupt in the first place... people want good prices AND good service...
I would give them a zero if I had the choice. Please make sure to ask them for the TOTAL PRICE WITH NO HIDDEN COSTS!!!!!! I was looted. I was charged about $300 just for renting it from here and dropping it off in Houston. The price that I saw was $88 when I was reserving and even when I got the receipt. This has bee the worst experience ever. I would highly recommend not renting from here!!!
Staff closed early leaving me and three other customers stranded at the airport. Avis Rental car was terrific and accommodated all of us. 15 days later and still no refund, call the customer service line and they are terrible.
Made reservations to wait over 3 hours for a car, every employee was rude or bothered with me asking simple questions on directions out overall terrible experience. Would not recomend, you couldnt pay me to go through that experience again.
The wait for the bus can be very long. Absolutely terrible service tonight. Car selection was good line to get out was really long. Unfortunately this this is typical of most Hertz locations now.Staff is very friendly and helpful. There was a long line at the bus shuttle stop to get to the rental car lot. Not very many cars to choose from in the president circle, but the selection was ok. I like the Chrysler 300 and there were a few to choose from. No line at the exit so getting out of the lot was fast. Return was smooth.
The customer service agent was very helpful and helpful
Very rude customer service. Came with my husband to rent a car. For some reason our rental got cancelled. He told the manager and the manager said there’s nothing he can do about it. Do not use these guys. We had no rental for our vacation.
Plans changed significantly due to weather and my husband ended up flying into Houston instead of Dallas leaving us scrambling to get him home. We reserved a one-way rental online so he could get home (an approximately four hour drive) and received an email confirming the rental. When my husband arrived on his flight he went straight to the rental counter to retrieve his the car and was told they were canceling the reservation because it was made within 24 hours and they didn’t have enough cars. He tried to find out more information and the lady walked away and wouldn’t talk to him about a different solution. She acted very nonchalant about the entire situation like it was normal for them to just cancel a reservation basically telling him they were only giving cars to people who had booked more than 24 hours in advance. When calling the corporate reservations number they basically said that their website allows reservations to be made when cars are not available so when reservations are made within 24 hours there may not be a car and they literally just kept repeating that as if we should have known. They need to give a warning or something if this is how they operate, it was too late for us to go to another company because other customers were in the same situation and scrambling as well. My husband was completely stranded. If we had known this when we made the reservation we could have made other arrangements but by the time he arrived in Houston it was too late to make other arrangements. They had a phone number and an email address in ther reservation, they could have at least given us a courtesy call letting us know they were cancelling the reservation but instead they waited until he arrived and were cold and unconcerned about the entire situation. We are rather surprised and taken aback at such poor customer service and their attitude that it was our fault for booking so late, we booked as soon as we knew we would need a vehicle and we received confirmation of the booking. Their attitude regarding the situation was terrible at the rental counter and on the reservation hotline so we are left to assume this is how they choose to operate and that they are an unreliable company with a poor attitude.
Booked the rental 30 days before hand and they still find a loophole to not rent a vehicle. This is the 2nd time this has happened traveling to Houston. Never booking with them again!!
Hertz.com allowed me to rent a car at 10pm.My flight arrived at 10pm and by the time we took the rental car shuttle and got to the Hertz location it was 1015pm and all counters were closed. We were not able to rent our car that we had reserved and I also got a carfirmation from them to pick it up.We had to Uber $70 round trip to our hotel and back to the airport the next day to only be told they wouldn’t do anything to adjust our rate or even give us an upgrade for the major inconvenience we experienced as a result of Hertz allowing a 10pm booking when their employees leave at 10pm.As a five star member I am highly disappointed and will not be renting with Hertz again.
In case of problems by contract or credit card, be prepared to travel for 2h back to Houston agency, no matter where you are or if you are working 10h per day... No one will support you by phone
The manager here helped me when I had nowhere to go!
Ladies working here are incredibly rude. We weren’t greeted at all. One of them was lecturing a customer about how people shouldn’t be traveling during Covid. Our agent lectured us about not being able to have more than one card associated with our gold membership. Neither of them were being kindly informative but rather “matter-of-fact, you’re doing it wrong”. Serious customer service classes would be beneficial for the employees at this establishment.
They just dont seem to care anymore. They rented a dangerous car to me that was in the presidents circle. I felt a vibration the highway and when arrived at the hotel the tire was falling apart. Called road side service goes to call center in Philippines who transfered me and hung up one hr later im still holding waiting.
Horrible experience! Horrible customer service My dog could do a better job! Nothing but clowns that work there! Hire people who know what they’re doing up there. Hertz should be embarrassed by those who work at this location.
Very disappointing, I normally rent with national and thought I would give her to try. The customer service was not great and I was informed that I was lucky I made the reservation two days ago as they were turning away people with more recent reservations due to lack of inventory.
This location let me book a car rental and could not fill it we’ve been stuck at the airport for two hours. Horrible customer service. Didn’t care that they left us stranded.
Just one employee for 30 clients. Very bad and slow attention
I wish I could give 0 stars, honestly. We booked a Hertz rental car through AAA. Everything was fine when I booked it, but when my husband and I went to pick it up, the agent told me that my credit card had to match my drivers license. I explained to her that one was my maiden name and the other was my married name, but everything matches my reservation. I had the print out and everything. She refused to help further and told me I had to call AAA to change the name on my reservation. After having to step aside and call AAA, I had to get back in line at Hertz again with a AAA agent on the phone. I waited 20 minutes while I saw another couple having issues trying to get their car and the third agent was chatting casually and giggling with a guy the whole time, paying no mind to all the people waiting in line. We finally got back to the same Hertz agent and she still refused to help, saying my names didnt match and even though I had AAA on the phone and that agent was trying to update the info to whatever Hertz needed, the Hertz agent told me I had to go BACK in line for the 3rd time now. We left, canceled the reservation, and will never be using Hertz again. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever had in my life and they should be embarrassed at how they treat a PAYING customer. They lost my business for good.
I always worry when renting a car. You never know what you are actually going to be charged. It was a pretty good experience with these guys though. The person at the counter was helpful and the car was nice.
To be very frank if I can give it a zero star I would. Made reservations online. When I came to pick the car up the lady rudely told me she couldn’t honor my reservation and walked away. I asked if there was anything that we can do since I really need this car. She told me either I pay for an upgrade or that’s that. And walked away again not giving me a chance to see the rates or anything. Extreme rude and nasty attitude.
I made an online reservation for a one way rental and after paying $60 to get to the airport, I was told they dont do one way rentals. Now I am stuck at the airport at 8pm with no cars or flights available. Thanks Hertz
Horrible customer service at the counter. I upgraded to the premium line as I was going to be driving my clients around. They talked up a Jaguar and made it sound like it was going to be a great car. The car didn’t have one premium feature. No GPS, seats were uncomfortable with no support adjustment and the Bluetooth would work 50% of the time. Had to use my phone to get us around everywhere. Made for fun conversations on how bad the car was.Lady at the counter said I should have brought it back during my busy schedule if I wasn’t happy and there was nothing they could do. All I wanted them to do was remove then upgrade fee from full size to premium. Do not waste your money on premium with them.
Great ...helped so much
Rented a car for an employee coming in from out of state. Provided the location with the American express to pay for the rental. My employee was then told he had to pay. When I tried to call to fix the situation and have our employee reimbursed and for them to charge the correct card, Moses ID# 9938 said that he had saw the note showing I wanted our company card to be charged but couldnt help me on getting their mistake corrected. Became very rude with me and refused to help. As I continued to let them know this was a huge inconvenience on our employee he wanted to tell me that it was my fault for not double checking them on the reservation. I am sorry, but I was unaware me as a customer had to babysit them while they do their job and correctly at that. My company is fully aware and are loyal customers over the last 7 years. This inconvenience and rude customer service, we will no longer be using Hertz rentals.
Literally waited in line for an hour because there was a single person working the counter. 25 people waiting in line with 1 person serving them all? Add more staff!!!!
Ripp-offI was charged for roadside assistance and insurance that I did not ask for without being informed of the charges. I simply asked for the basic charges as initially quoted.I was also charged $77.00 for gas. The car was dropped off with a full tank of gas. When I called Hertz, I was on hold for almost 25 minutes with no assistance from the operator.I ended up paying double the initial quoted figuresSCAMMED
Check your receipt before signing anything. They might have added a charge you never agreed to.On 2021/02/26, My wife rented a vehicle at this location (George Bush International Airport location). When speaking with the sales associate, my wife was never asked about adding Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) and she never said she wanted it. When signing the digital signature box, my wife was told she was signing only for the rental and fuel option she requested. The LDW was not mentioned, nor was she provided the full agreement to review before signing. She was just told to sign the digital box.Due to an unrelated customer service issue with Hertz, my wife was distracted and did not notice the extra charge until reviewing the trips expenses. She was charged 237.93 + taxes for LDW. (This was on a 209.23 rental. The LDW cost more than the rental!)I contacted Hertz to discuss this charge and was told that since my wife signed the rental agreement, they would not do anything.Since my wife was never asked if she wanted this coverage, I see only two possibilities:1. The agent made an error and neither they nor my wife caught it. Hertz is unwilling to correct the error.or2. The agent took advantage of my wifes distracted and harried state (which Hertz caused in the first place) to trick her into signing for a charge she never agreed to. Hertz is unwilling to address this unethical behavior.Either case, this is unacceptable behavior and ensures Hertz will not have a repeat customer.
I am a gold member and rent mainly from the adrenaline line so I expect the best and usually Hertz comes through. But this car was dirty and had scratches all over hood and side of vehicle. The inner wheel well plastic was rubbing every time I turned the wheel. When asked for another vehicle they didnt have nothing comparable and wanted more $$$ for a upgrade. I have never had this problem with them I think it was the location.
Wish I could rate this place 0 stars. Manger is TERRIBLE. Rented a car for the weekend which had low tire pressure not long at all after pulling off and also there was a a rolled blunt inside of car. Manger refused to discount services or even upgrade car. Went back and forth with us for almost 30 minutes before I went over to enterprise and received great services from chad. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
The customer service at the HouSton Airport was disgusting. My husband wore a suit and to the establishment, and the person at the counter says “why are you dressed like you went to a funeral”. Coincidentally he did. His close family member And he was offended. Continued with the transaction, afterwards he asked to speak to the manager about the conduct. The cashier then refunds the rental and refused to rent to him. Tying up his money and leaving us stranded at the airport for 3 hours. I need to be contacted by management.
Easy, great service. Thanks.
Lady at the desk was very rude she would ask us a question and before we can make a decision we would ask her more information on the product and she replied with “do you need it yes or no” then later she handed us the information paper and didn’t even let us read through terms and conditions, felt very rush not a pleasant experience when first time renting.
Great service every time. I will return my patronage anytime.
If I could leave a 0 star review, I would.Between some of the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered, robbing me of $165 on an insurance I said I didn’t want in the first place, and giving us a car with what appeared to be dry vomit in the back seat and smears all over the inside of the windshield, along with a bad alignment. I would sooner take an Uber than rent from these thief’s ever again.I understand the salespeople make a commission off of the insurance sale, but don’t rob the people who tell you flat out that they don’t want it.There’s a few reasons car rental companies are going out of business, and I’m sure the piss poor service and scamming is up there.
Hour wait. Nice car for the money
There were no cars in the five star lot when we arrived. We finally got one about 10 minutes after arriving, but it wasnt the size/style we reserved. Car was not clean inside. Long wait to get it off lot. Also, just got a $35 charge for tolls. $16 of which was a convenience fee?!?! Criminal.
If the times of operation have changed, why are you accepting reservations for after 10pm?About 4 cars were stranded at your car rental waiting to be checked out only for all us to realize there wasn’t any staff available to attend to us. The car rental shuttle should also not be picking hertz customers after 10pm. This is highly disgraceful for a big company like hertz. We all had to head back to terminals with our luggage’s to take Taxi’s.It makes no sense whatsoever!
$100 for gas is not “competitive rates”, and when you have to catch a flight it’s an outright scam.
Dirty car it smell like weed and the windows were so filthy I had to clean them and the steering wheel. I had to disinfect the car myself. I will never use hurts again !
Decent deals. IAH staff rarely nice...rarely ready...
This review was originally posted back in March 2019. Everything was fine with us. Got our car very quick from Hertz. When it was time to return it we just dropped off the car and left with our belongings. Very fast paced and well mannered workers here.
Service was not great. They had one cashier helping during a very busy time. Once I got through the cashier I had to wait another hour for them to get my car. There were a lot of unhappy customers that night.
Great Hertz Location.
Out of my car but quickly directed to another. Representatives cordial.
Second time i Reserved a Range Rover Velar and they didnt have one available they tried both times to out me in a smaller vehicle. seen the Range Rover leaving out with someone else from my reserved spot. Went inside they said they only had one and it was already taken. Manager would not come out and talk to me very poor customer service! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH HERTZ!!!!!
VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. We were on a vacation and paid for our car two weeks in advance before we got to Texas. When we got there to pick up our car, they wouldn’t let us get it because we forgot our credit card back at home even though we had multiple forms of other identification. Then they put MULTIPLE charges on our card which was very inconvenient for us to be on vacation. And they still charged us an underage fee even though they didn’t give us the car.
My husband and I are amex platinum cardholders and we signed up for the hertz gold member + amex partner discount. The longest part of the process was the shuttle to car rental place from baggage claim.Once we got dropped off, we did not have to wait in any line but walked straight to the parking lot.The employee verified our name was on the gold member list that was displayed and handed us car keys and we were in a cat in less than 5 mins.We lucked out and got a small suv, even though we initially opted for the cheapest compact car.We were very happy with the vehicle, the time it took to get a vehicle, and upon leaving the garage they checked out the vehicle and gave us our car rental agreement/receipt.We will be returning the vehicle at a different location but we were surprisingly happy with how quick our experience was and friendliness of employees. Also the vehicle was very well sanitized and clean prior to us getting in. It didn’t have any odors or anything. Very pleased with everything.
Do not rent anything from this company . Fool me once shame on you, fool. Me twice shame on me . Such a big corporation and they are money hungry . This is the second time that they took my money . Horrible customer service .
Booked a luxury SUV for 7. When standing in line, we were informed they overbooked and moved our 2 week reservation to another hertz across town. It being 7:50 and they close at 8. Rachel the manger wouldnt provide its last name for further customer service, suggested we come back in thee morning or get a lift that would cost $120 and arrive well after they are closed. HORRIBLE experience. Now stranded at IAH after hours during covid-19. Thanks.
Horrible service and attitudes, but even worse sanitation and cleaning standards for the vehicles. Highly recommend another location or another rental company over this hertz. To say it was a frustrating experience is an understatement. I had been quarantining for 2 weeks as I was going home to see my 80 year old parents, one of whom has a compromised immune system. I called ahead as the vehicle I was already, required an oil change and took it to the nearest airport to have it swapped out as instructed by the Hertz Platinum Desk. The day prior to attempting to swap out the vehicle, I called and spoke to your location directly who informed me they would pull an identical vehicle out and set it aside for me, so it would be a quick and easy process with minimal to no contact. This was crucial to me due to the raging state of the global pandemic and the extremely high risk of complications and death my parents face should they become infected.Rather than a simple and easy process, the vehicle which was set aside had not been properly cleaned as trash was still present from the previous driver. What happened after that was 3.5 hours of making me wait in the airport. I shouldnt have to remind you extreme health risks airports face especially when dealing with COVID. Your location refused to provide a similar vehicle despite having 9 of them sitting there. Instead I had to wait, waste my entire day, and break my self imposed quarantine. All so your location could simply take the car to have the oil changed. Why I wasnt provided another like vehicle and allowed to leave is beyond me. It would have been simple to provide me a vehicle, which was already pulled out of your inventory the day prior. Then have the oil changed on the vehicle being returned, and put that one back in your inventory. Atleast this is what was communicated to me just they day before. Should this location attempt to make any other claim, Im more than happy to provide a recording of the phone call.It got so bad, I even tried renting a car that was $400/day more than what I was in. I imagined charging someone $500/day would have been in the companies best interest. It must also be noted Im a hertz Platinum member. The events which occurred and total lack of customer support provided, despite previously receiving multiple assurances from the Platinum desk, and the location itself is inexcusable. The total lack of concern and willingness to place my families health and very lives in extreme risk is inexcusable. In the end I had to choose between being wreckless and risking my parents lives, simply to see them for the holidays. Or foregoing seeing my family, whom I hadnt seen in over a year. I obviously chose to not put my parents lives in jeopardy as they are already 80. This location forced this unfair decision and ruined my Christmas without a shred of concern. Before leaving I made multiple requests from multiple HERTZ staff for the general managers card and/or contact information. All claimed not to know or have the info. Until someone gave me a card with a hand written number and email on it. The email was invalid and the phone number was to a general mailbox, for which Ive left no less than 20 voicemails on and not recieved a single reply. Its also some bizarre coincidence the day HERTZ orignally read and replied to this review, my HERTZ reward points balance of almost 10,000 reward points was drained without notice, reason or explanation. The lack of accountability and extreme lack of morals and ethical business practices this locaiton is astounding. The management at this location should be incredibly ashamed of themselves as well as their staff. If this sort of wreckless disregard for their customers wellbeing and holiday plans the normal policy, its no wonder HERTZ has had to file for bankruptcy and is inching closer to going out of business.
We arrived a couple minutes before they closed at 10pm and literally watched an employee run to a back room and shut the lights off when he saw us coming.Go over to Avis, much better service at the same price points.
I had one of the worse experience ever renting in hertz. My wife and I rented a car in Orlando to make a road trip to Texas . In the way to Texas we realized that the car has serious damage on the directions, it wasn’t stable so while we were driving the car dangerously was going to the right hand side so was difficult control the car in the highway. We tried to call 4 times the hertz support and the answer was to get the car to the closest hertz and swap it for other one, pretty easy but we tried 3 times with different hertz and no one want to change our car, the excuse is ‘we dot have car available ‘ but we are in big danger as we are driving a car which can couse a huge accident, it’s seems no buddy cares about our safety. When I came to a airport hertz even the manager Defondra (is the name I heard when I asked) couldnt even try to sort our serious problem. She just ignore me as a customer as my live is not value for her .I’ve been rented a car in so many places but never had that gross services and experiences as I had in HERTZ.
Worst service and they ran out of cars even for people with reservations.
It should be clear a debit card is not accepted for payment
