I did not have a wonderful experience getting my hair done at this salon. The picture attached was what I asked for and the other was what I received. My hair was hardly curled, super frizzy and generally a mess when I left. I was in a wedding and had to do it myself right after I left the salon. My hair stylist was not to happy to be doing an updo- it was made clear that she did not like to do them. Overall I was disappointed with the amount I spent and the result.

Beautiful salon. Rachel Dutcher Collier works wonders on my thick unruly hair. Priced medium - high depending on the service you receive. Four stars only because of the parking situation (its metered and even maxed on time, it is too short for some services and you cant add more time).

Rachel D is the best, I’ve never really found a hairdresser I really liked until her! She’s super nice and easy to chit chat with and always does such a good job whether it’s a cut or color. The salon is always very clean and professional too.

My first visit to a new salon after quarantine was just as I hoped. Andrea took care of my hair and gave me exactly what I asked for, and more! I had such a wonderful experience and already looking forward to my next appointment!

I love this place! Andrea L. takes such good care of my hair every time I come to Pure Salon. The salon itself is clean, stylish and cozy, all at the same time. Don’t ask me how they do it. Parking is easy as well for downtown GR. Go early and take a walk along the river for a scenic view.

I had a hair appointment scheduled for 10am. My hair stylist Jen West did not see me until 10:45am, then informed me that she had double booked my appointment with another client. In total, my appointment took close to 5 hours, I had 4 different hair stylists helping because Jen was busy with the other client, it was $300+, and she didn’t have time to style my hair so I left the salon with frizzy hair. I contacted the salon and was told Jen would reach out but still has yet to. To say I am disappointed in an understatement.

Andrea W is amazing. She made sure to be honest about what she could do for me. Andrea made me feel comfortable knowing how nervous I was and never having her cut my hair before. The cut is exactly what I wanted and my hair came out a perfect fun fall color. Thank you!

Sharp stylish salon. Very happy with my stylist Steph. She asked a lot of questions to help determine the hair style and color that would fit in with my life style and preferences. Very impressed!

Ive been going to Pure Salon for about 3 years now. Liz is my stylist at Pure Salon and she is top notch! I have been with her since before she was at this salon. I like being able to get funky-style haircuts and color and Liz always knows exactly what Im looking for. I get compliments on my haircut and color wherever I go. The reception staff at the salon is super friendly. I highly highly recommend Liz at Pure Salon.

Little hard to find at first, but definitely a great place to get a hair cut! They have great customer service and I would highly recommend them! They shampoo/condition your hair, do the hot towel thing, and I always walk out feeling refreshed.

I have been going to Kimberly at Pure Salon for nearly a year now for shellac manicures and gel nail enhancements. She has extraordinary attention to detail, creative accent nail skills and is always very professional. Whats better? The greeting staff always has a smile and glass of wine at the ready!She has my business, every other two weeks, booked out for a year. In fact, I drive 45 minutes for this appointment only. Worth every dime.She also does a great eyebrow wax!

No nonsense, good service, friendly, bonus hot towel face treatment and eyebrow wax included. Highly recommend.

I just paid $50 for a haircut I hate! When the stylist washed my hair she didnt even lather the shampoo. Then she didnt even bother to style my hair. I left the salon looking ridiculous!

I went in to get my hair colored. Rachel was my stylist and she did a fantastic job, its exactly what I wanted!! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she advised me accordingly. Im not too chatty, but I found that chatting with her was easy, and the silences in between, comfortable. Since my hair was bleached she didnt put any dye on my tips, instead she put a special shampoo on to get rid of the brassiness. She put a hot towel over my conditioned hair and the products she used (Morrocan Oil brand) made my hair soo soft! Im glad I did my research and went here, rather than somewhere pricier that was going to try and force their products on me. I will definitely be returning!

If you want a shellac manicure, DONT go to Pure Salon. My shellack manicure only lasted 4 days!!! There are other places in Grand Rapids that are more reasonably priced and offer higher quality. Shellac manicures should last at LEAST 1 week (not 4 days), and I have had some that have lasted three weeks.I called Pure Salon and made another appointment; Kelley (the women who did my manicure) stated that she would redo it since a 4-day shellac manicure is not acceptable. However, I had to reschedule the day-of because a family member had suffered from a heart attack I needed to go to the hospital. The earliest Kelly could get me in was in another two weeks and while I hated that I had to walk around with extremely chipped nails, I was not overly concerned. On the day of, I called to clarify that my manicure was still on the house only to be informed that Kelly had changed her mind, stating that since I had to reschedule (apparently family emergencies do not constitute a good reason) and it had been over two weeks--a two week time-lapse due to their scheduling, not mine--she would no longer honor our agreement. So, not only does Pure Salon offer subpar manicures but they also suffer from subpar values.

Aja Wong who is not only a stylist but apparently the artistic director at pure salon single handedly ruined my wedding by giving me the worst haircut on earth. i didnt even ask for a haircut. i just wanted my neck trimmed. before i knew it, she took a huge hunk out of the back of my hair right down to the scalp. this happened two days before my wedding. i lost two nights sleep over it and pretty much balled my eyes out. i was a complete wreck. i looked and felt horrible all because of this incompetent stylist. SOME PEOPLE SHOULDNT DO HAIR. AJA WONG is one of them! p.s. i have heard of many other aja wong disasters since sharing my unfortunate experience with others. do not let this woman anywhere near your hair!

BUYER BEWARE: Probably the worst salon I have been to. Shellac is a joke lasted only 3 day. They argued about redoing my nails and blamed it on my nail saying they probably chip and shellac is not for me. Funny how ive had shellac done for the past couple years and only tried this joke of a salon because of their groupon.
