They need to organize their staff better. Get more people to work there as well. If you schedule a appointment you will wait at least a hour even if you are on time. The people are nice but the business management need some help

I came in with a bit of a mess on my nails and she went above and beyond to remove the old acrylic, take great care of the natural nail & not compromise my nail health and did a beautiful full set of dip powder! She took her time, had great precision & care when it came to my nails and they came out flawless! Would absolutely return!

My first time ever having my nails done. Its wont be my last! So nice, walked me through my options because I had no clue. My nails will look great for my daughters wedding now.

My husband took me and are daughters to get regular manicure. An appointment was set before hand. First they was 15 minutes pass are appointment time, the manicure where done horrible, its was fast and the tech left nail polish all on the edges of both there nails.and what really top it off is we where charged 90 dollars for 2 kids and one adult. It was are first visit, and the experience was horrible. Sue nails charge a total of 15.00 and that includes shellac polish. Never again.

First time at JV Nails & Spa with Annie and she did an amazing job! Very thorough. They actually care about what your nails look like, they’re not just trying to get you in and out as quickly as possible (as is unfortunately the case with a lot of walk-in salons). She somehow also managed to do a proper dip but without making the nails too thick. Now that I see how well it’s done here, I actually realize how badly the place I went to before was doing it. Very nice and natural-looking. And she was so gentle, I easily could have taken a nap while there. I will definitely be coming back.

Im never disappointed. Everyone working there is talented and professional and I feel really comfortable with them, which is huge for someone with social anxiety. Love dip and the amount of pedicures available. I usually get my eyebrows touched up when I go in too.I definitely recommend!

Wait time was awful. I felt they put me in the seat so I couldn’t leave. Pedicure was average. Paid for callous removal and nothing was done. Barely cleaned up feet. Polish was ok. Dip mani took 2 hours. Staff kept texting and checking phone. Not even one day out my dip started to crack. I’ve been here before. Used the best a regular but has gone way down hil. Very disappointed in the quality. Paying $100 to have to go back a week later and have it all fixed is beyond upsetting. Never again.

I used to go to a place in South Haven. My daughter lives in Grand Rapids and has had her nails done here so I thought I would try it. I had Sandy, and now Taylor and I come together. It is an hour drive for me, but well worth it. They are all very nice and personable.

I have been going to this place for a year now. Excellent service, they have a clean environment and all the staffs are super friendly and makes you comfortable. I will be a regular customer and I would definitely recommend to everyone to try this place.

Im not sure what happened to this place in the last 6 months. I used to come here all the time because the staff was knowledgeable and I really love the hot stone massages they offer for pedicures. After months of not being there because I had a baby I went back for the first time in a long time expecting the same great service and I was far from happy. I requested to get a pedicure and a dip manicure. Pedicure looked nice when it was done but the man working on my nails got up 4 times to tend to other business keeping me waiting. I understand it gets busy and someone has to take care of things but why not have a dedicated staff to do that? Its not fair to me the technician/owner is interrupted because of business flow. Later, he worked on my dip manicure and not only did he shave down my natural nail alot, mind you I didnt have anything on my nails it was all natural, but then he proceeded to dip my nails into jars I knew he was using for others. Very unsanitary. He didnt pour powder into a different jar, he just used the original jar the powder came in. How many others had their fingers in it? I got a French manicure and its far from flawless. You can see debree and powder on the clear part of my nails. Nevertheless, its been exactly a week and my nail colors have chipped. I spent over $80 not including tip and my nail polish has chipped on both my toenails and fingernails. Such a waste. Dont see myself going back and I highly recommend not going there only unless you want to spend money and see for yourself what happens.

I have coffin shaped nails and the shape was not decent like I like. I asked for diamond rhinestones for around my cuticles and they werent placed right. I just decided to do my own eyebrows. I wont be back because I dont like wasting my money.

I will not becoming back to this nail salon. They do great pedicures. But I got dip and I had to come back twice because the dip was really thin and I had lift of the nails. Only one person knows how to dip but not correctly. They charge me 100 dollars and it wasn’t worth it. This is one of the worst salons I’ve been to.

I love the pedicure! Numerous ones to chose from. But the girl doing my manicure (full acrylic set) kept getting up and leaving. What should have taken an hour to do took almost 2 hours!

I am always happy with my dip manicures. Every technician does a wonderful job and I am happy to say they are taking sanitation and covid 19 very serious. Stations and tools are sanitized between each client, they do temperature checks, and use sneeze guards. It’s a great place and I highly recommend you check them out.

Today was my first time here and I am very happy with my pedicure. The space was clean and the equipment was nice and worked well. My friend was also very happy with her acrylic polish mani. I had the basic pedicure for $28 with an additional $5 for the design and it was around a 45 minute service. The nail tech was thorough in caring for my nails. They do not allow you to add a tip on credit card sales so bring cash if you want to tip your tech.

Average. they used to have better service. in the past i have waited about an hour to get a pedicure when they said it would be a short wait. i do get a good massage and hot stones!!

My friend and I came in around 11:50 am, and we got in around 12:00ish, she was taken in right away, but I had to go sit far away and was not serviced for 20 ish minutes. I had seen employees look at me and no one came to my side for 20 minutes until another employee came. I had asked for shellac and within the next day, both of my nails started peeling. I’m sure the guy doing my nails put on regular polish. I’m not pleased. I won’t be returning back.

Timely with appointment as we had a group of six and gave great service and staff were courteous.

I called and asked what the price for a full acrylic set with polish would be and was told $35. I confirmed the price with her and set up the appointment. Go to the place, get my nails done and was charged $50 instead. And my friend got her nails done the exact same way but was charged $60. No difference in our nails or anything. Never again.

Dip with shellac polish and polish change on toes. JV Nails and Spa always provides quality services and the staff are very professional and friendly. I highly recommend this place for all services.

Zinny did an amazing job on my nails! She was very detail oriented and gentle and was patient as I was indecisive on my nail color. They had tons of color options and lots of manicurists working so I didnt have to wait at all. I will definitely be back!

My girlfriend Mary Kay came in today, as a walk in appointment, she recently had a stroke, they treated her with utmost respect and took care of her! She tipped them well and intends on going back !

They do a good job, but with that said, they have raised their prices each time I go. I always get the same thing. Lately they almost insist that you pay your tip or entire bill in cash. They push you to an ATM machine in the lobby so you feel pressured to use it. When I realized the transaction was also going to cost me extra I felt uncomfortable to do this.Im not sure why they are pushing so hard for cash, but I dont think I will go back here.

I had never been to this establishment. I was trying a new place. I called to see if they had an opening right away because I was in the parking lot ( which was EMPTY ). She said “ yes come in!” Some guy started on my nails. When he took my old set off he never filed or buff anything, just started putting my nails on. My acrylic was sooooo thick on the first nail he did. It took him almost 8 minutes ( yes I timed it ) to finish that one nail!!! I told him i dont like my nails like this, and ask him have you ever done nails before? He replied “ yes “. Then got up and ask one of the girls to jump in and fix it. Which amswered my question. Her designs was cute but all my nails are diff sizes and i have sooo much acrylic on my nails😡😡😡. Not to mention i went in there around 11/1130 didnt leave until 1:30- ish!!! Never had to spend 2 hours in a nail salon!! I will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!! I willNever recommend this place to no one!!

This was my first time at JV Nails and it wont be my last. The salon was absolutely spotless with none of the strong chemical odors that can be associated with nail salons. Annie was my nail tech and she gave me an amazing pedicure. Im very glad I found this little gem.

This is my new favorite nail place!!!! The staff was so friendly and personable. Annie did a great job on my pedicure and really took her time making sure it was perfect. The pedicure even had hot stones and whatever scrub they used smelled amazing! Ben did my manicure and he is just awesome! He’s so funny, he gave me exactly what I asked for and finished with an amazing hand massage! Highly recommend!

As soon as the lady filed my nails, she had me pay for the manicure, (keep in mind, I sat down for only 2 minutes and only had my nails shaped and she didn’t even put the nail polish on yet). I thought that was weird because I went with my best friend, and she didn’t have to get up and pay in the middle of her manicure. So why did I? Then they claimed that my card didn’t go through because the internet was down and they wanted me to use the ATM in their store and pay with cash. So I had my friend use my card to try to pay, and all of a sudden it worked. (Weird) I’m not automatically assuming my service was different for me because of my race. But I just found it weird that I was the only brown person in the store that had to pay for my manicure in the middle of the service and my card wouldn’t go through because the internet was down, but everyone else was white and they didn’t have to pay in the middle nor had trouble with their cards while the “internet was down.” Long story short, I’m never going back.

I knew going here on the 1st day open since the pandemic closure would be a little crazy but I can honestly say it was worth the wait I love my nails. Thanks Andy!! :)

Ben is very good at making customers feel welcome and happy. I needed help with my last fill-in and he took wonderful care of me. I have RA in my hands and fingers so being able to have someone as nice as Ben taking care of me means the world to me.Sara is great at her job. I had the best pedicure ever ! My last pedicure was a long time ago so she had a lot a work to do. My feet still feel wonderful.

I’ve gone to this salon monthly for 3 years and since the ownership change it has gotten steadily worse. For a previous visit, I made an appointment and when I showed up, I was asked to wait 30-40 minutes. That didn’t fit my schedule so I left and went elsewhere. Two months later, I gave another chance by making a 9am appointment in advance. When I showed up, the salon was closed and opened late. Then 20 minutes later, I had still not been helped and the woman my appointment was with was still not in the building. Because of another meeting, I left. I won’t be back. My experience with a newly opened nail salon on Knapp Corner has been much better!

First time visit for pedicure....walk-in and ask for classic/basic service. Did not expect the polish to chip the next day on two toes....I have always had basic service at other salons and this never happened before. Service was good, salon clean and people nice but talked in their native language which is always comfortable. Do not plan to use this salon again.

PLEASE READDo not go here!! I waited a full hour and 10 minutes to be serviced. Then, when they turned the water on she burned me!! I have never felt hotter water. She didn’t even apologize! Then she did a rushed job and when I could not understand her she just shook her head at me. Before she could begin my manicure, she made me pay. It was extremely overpriced especially for the horrible job. She made multiple fingers bleed and then did another and even MORE rushed job on painting them. They look awful and I am extremely disappointed and upset. This was supposed to be something fun and exciting instead it was an absolute nightmare.

I used to love coming here. I looked forward to every appointment as they were always thorough and my nails always looked great after.This past week I went and got a dip manicure and as you know it takes about an hour to get it done. The color was wrong and very translucent. I didn’t receive an apology, but was asked to come back in the morning to get it fixed. I understand they have no control over how the polish shows when the color is new, but no apology was issued. I was still charged for the manicure when leaving and then still had to come back the next day to have the owner’s wife redo my nails. I still never got an apology, she was rude, cut my cuticles and didn’t apologize when I withdrew my hand in pain. My cuticles are cut up and sore everywhere.I won’t be returning and will be on the look out for a new location.

They are very racist and i would not recommend. they were very rough with my nails and they don’t have set prices so be prepared to pay whatever they want you to pay. the workers acted stuck up and i made an appointment and they didn’t even start for another 45 minutes. my nails look decent but don’t look like they are worth 50$ do not go here honey. save yourself the time

I have been going to JV Nail for about a year now. I always get a Shellac manicure, once in awhile Ill get a pedicure. My shellacs are always EXCELLENT. they last 3 sometimes even four weeks and still look great! If you happen to have a chip or a crack shortly after your nails are done(which I have never had happen) they are always more than willing to fix it for you. I just love this place.

I was very impressed! I was a little hesitant to go there because one review that said this nail salon does not service black people. That is 100% false. I was warmly welcomed by Ben and he did a fantastic job on my nails I love them !!!

I made an appointment for a Friday during lunch and even though I had to wait about 10-15 minutes to be sat because the nail salon was very busy, the staff was extremely apologetic and was conversational and my nails look amazing! I got a gel manicure 3 weeks ago and they havent chipped even a little bit! I will definitely be back!

This is the best nail salon I’ve been to all over GR. All of the staff is very friendly and you can tell that they are treated well because the same people have been working there for years. The prices are not cheap, but shellac is guaranteed for 2 weeks, often lasting well beyond that. The variety of pedicure options is great and include top-notch services. The tools for manicures and pedicures are always cleaned and presented in sealed bags and pedi basins are cleaned right away after each customer. It is an incredibly professional and clean environment— no tacky decorations or random people sitting around.

I had to find a quick place for a pedicure at lunch today and was referred here by the daughter of a co-worker. I was very pleasantly surprised to sit in a nice big comfy chair and to meet Ben who was delightful. It is a quiet place and nice soft music is playing. I will definitely come back!

This will now be the only nail salon I go to! They sterilize and then seal their tools, which is hard to find. They offer many different pedicure options, including hot stone massage and paraffin. High quality pedi chairs with massage, and they offer exact shade matches between regular polish and shellac. The owner is always upbeat and friendly. I would recommend this to anyone looking to pamper themselves!

I have been going here for almost 3 years now and I am in love with this place. Ben and Kim are amazing and they really work hard to keep this business doing well. They have a lot of loyal customers including myself, the prices are good and all of their employees do an amazing job.

The old owner and staff were amazing! The staff that still there is very sweet, but I feel bad as the demeanor in the place has changed a big time! Staff use to be joking and silly and have a great time with customers, the new owner is very rude and definitely has a different demeanor in his business. They now also run very very far behind. Theyre is really no point to having an appointment as their almost always half an hour to 45 minutes late.

I always go here for my dip manicure. Amy is magical - I always get compliments on my nails thanks to her beautiful work.

I will never get my nails done anywhere else! Ben and his whole crew is top notch. Phenomenal customer service and atmosphere! My shellac always lasts 2+ weeks or more on average. I came JV Nails & Spa three weeks ago with my girlfriend. Honestly, they did a great job on my nails. They had a large variety of nail polish for me to choose. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice and clean gel manicure.

I have had great experiences here for years even with a switch of ownership. At my most recent visit I noticed that every worker was so kind and caring about the clients and really took their time. My tech Peter was a perfectionist with my dip mani and a female worker did a beautiful detailed job (with pretty design) on my pedi. Great prices. Highly recommend coming here compared to many other local and out of town nail businesses!

Had an issue with a nail very soon after having them done and they went above and beyond to fix it with out any fuss. I drive an hour just for this great costumer service and I will keep doing so!

Im new to GR and was looking for a new nail salon and loved this place! I got a shellac Mani/pedi and they both were exactly want I wanted! Its been over three weeks since I had them done and my toes still look perfect and my nails only just started to chip a little bit! I will be going back again!

THE WORST pedicure of my life. This was my first time there. I was greeted by two of them arguing with each other. She was rushed the whole time working on my feet and missed like half the steps. A pedicure should take longer than 15 minutes. I had also asked for a manicure- when we went over to her table she looked at me and said Do you really a manicure? Because there was others waiting that she wanted to get to. I will never go there again.

WOWDO NOT GO HERE THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND WILL MESS UP YOUR NAILS AND NOT FIX IT WHEN THEY DO.I honestly wish I could give this place Zero Stars. First off I’m originally from Nashville TN. But I was in town for a wedding, I did a Dip Manicure and a Regular Pedicure. With the pedicure, they never fully shaved the callus off of my heel (even after I told them) but I just let it go because I still had to get my nails done. Then when I got my nails done, they messed up on 3 of my nails 2 of which had bubbles and one had cotton that I pointed out as my nail was getting painted but Sam assured me that he would fix it when he was finished (which didnt make sense because dip involves REAL HARDENED GLUE) but none the less when i finished they took my card without even correcting the issue. Then I told Amy the issue and instead of redoing the one nail that had debris under it she shaved it down then painted over it so now it has a crater in it. I was in a hurry so when i came back later that day. The minute I walk in, another customer who sam is currently working on says “is that the woman you were talking about” and he goes yea. As if i cant hear them. I will NEVER go to this place again. Its clear they give different levels of service dependent upon your appearance and that’s unfortunate because I’m a med student and could have been a great long term customer in the future.

I go to JV every time I get my nails done. They changed owners about 6 months ago and the service is even better than with the former owners. They get done in a timely manner without making the quality of their work suffer. I have been getting no chip manicures for 6 years now (in Chicago before I moved to Grand Rapids) and they do an excellent job with my no chips. My nails almost always grow out and require a new manicure before I suffer form any chips or peeling. They also do a good job with eyebrows and lip waxing.

Pedicure was thorough but the nail tech was unfriendly and ROUGH. Both my sister an I did not enjoy the overall experience. We won’t be back. Grouchy and rough.

I went in around 6:30pm on a Wednesday and i was helped immediately. I had come in for Acrylics and the woman who did my nails was talkative and listened to what i wanted and asked to make sure i liked what they looked like before she went any farther. The atmosphere was light and my nails look amazing! I would most definitely return here and also highly recommend!

Called at 10am ti make an appointment. My scheduled time was 12:30. I arrived at 12:30 and 6 other women were all waiting to get their nails done who also had appointments for 12:30. I asked how long they would be since I took an extended lunch break and they said a few minutes. Its now 12:55 and I havent even been serviced. Ill never be back.

I have been a steady customer for 7 months, now. I have been to a couple other salons in the area and they just dont compare. Even during busy hours, my wait is not more than 10. All staff do a superb job with my nails and the shellac manicure lasts 3 weeks, for me, without any chipping/peeling.

New crew, this has been my favorite spot for a few years, but they cut my foot during pedi and my nails looked awful within a couple days. Very pushy to add more so they can make more $. Not really a fun relaxing spot anymore! :(

A very friendly atmosphere and the nail tech who did my nails was very friendly. Id prefer my usual nail salon but gave JV a chance. The work was a little rushed and polish wasnt completely dry but the hospitality overall was great.

Very disappointed with how they handle appointments. If someone schedules a 630 appointment there is no reason to sit waiting until 7pm to start. If you can’t fit someone in at that time then tell them! A mani pedi takes long enough as is but for me to miss my dinner because I had to sit for over an hour and half for a simple mani pedi. Tried them out because of location but will stick to my usual place.

I stopped by on a whim and had the best pedicure Ive had in a long time. Excellent service.
