If I could give this place six stars, I would!I found Spa JLK while searching for black owned nail salons in Durham while I was on vacation in the area. I came in on my birthday ready to relax, decompress, and pamper myself, and my expectations were exceeded.The small, appointment only setting made me feel like I was important. The level of privacy allowed for me to get to know the salon owner and we spend the entire appointment talking and laughing.She gave me knowledge and insight about how to take care of my hands and feet, something thats never happened to me at a salon.Her natural products had the BEST fragrance.I have naturally long, strong nails, and usually nail salons ruin them with harsh products. But not here, Mrs.Cornita used my natural nails and made them look like million dollar nails.At the end of my appointment, she walked me through all of her handmade products, and I ended up buying several from both the mens and womens line.Overall, if youre looking for an intimate setting, an owner who truly values your time, and products that are carefully created, this salon is for you.This was easily the best experience Ive ever had. Ill be returning the next time Im in the area.

Her products smell beautiful and makes your skin feel so soft! My niece came and used some of her lotion but I had to get her own, she cant have mine! Love it

Girls being girls my friend and I decided to get our nails done bout 7pm on a Friday night ( yes I know who does that? ) we called a few places and they were all closed. As soon as we called JLK she told us there would be a little wait as she was already expecting a client to arrive, we didnt care we went there and got comfortable. When we walked in she was Super friendly, asked us what we wanted instead of telling us what we should get. Her place is super cute and comfortable, love the hand made products she sells my skin feels amazing my husband thanks her lol. Her service was amazing, we were laughing and talking the whole time it was like we were just chillin at a friends house. I was extremely pleased with her service and her price. She is now my permanent nail lady x
