I had a hot stone pedicure. It was great. Ive never done hot stones before, so the nail technician was able to tell me all about the service before we started. She was helpful, friendly and didnt try to upsell me or get me to do an additional service (which usually happens at nail salons). It was relaxing and stress-free, just what you want from a spa like experience. It was also very clean and an inviting atmosphere.

Love this salon! It’s been my regular place for almost 2 years! My nails always look great. Whenever I get acrylic they look like my natural nails because the application is so good. No thick unnatural looking nails!They are also very responsible when it comes to protecting their customers against covid. You are not allowed in without a mask, you sanitize your hands as soon as you enter building, they check your temperature immediately, reduced capacity to allow for social distancing, barricades between you and nail tech and there is constant hand washing.

Normally I have a great time when I come here but today was not the case. I broke one of my nails after getting them done four days prior. Now I wasn’t upset but I called on a Wednesday and they said they were booked. So I chose to call again the next day (today, Thursday) and the owner (Susan) said they were booked until 5 and if I walked in at 6 I’d be able to get it fixed. Now I was still calling to make my appointment for today to get it fixed since she said they were busy prior. I drove 40 minutes here only to walk in at 6 and she tells me their booked. I tell her I called earlier and she said that she didn’t make an appointment for my repair. If I called two days in a row to make an appointment before I drove 40 minutes it should have been written down. It was extremely unprofessional and she did not care about the fact that I have called and talked to her twice. I also have always come on time if not 5-10 minutes early to all my appointments including this one because I live far away. I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK. ALSO PLEASE TAKE THE PICTURE OF MY HANDS OFF THE INSTAGRAM PAGE BECAUSE YOU NO LONGER HAVE PERMISSION TO HAVE IT. Thanks. ALSO THE POLICY IS NOT LISTED ANYWHERE THAT YOU CAN’T BOOK A REPAIR AS AN APPOINTMENT.

I’ve tried many nail salons in Durham and Chapel Hill, and Bliss always knocks it out of the park. There is a large staff of talented technicians, the atmosphere is relaxing yet fun, and their space is open and large.The only times I have had trouble getting an appointment is graduation weekend (obviously).Pre-COVID they offered complimentary drinks with your service (water, tea, soda). I hope they are able to bring this back one day!

I haven’t gotten my nails done in a really long time. I was looking forward to this experience and was very disappointed and frustrated throughout the whole process. My nail shape was off and not what I wanted. Some looked like squoval and some coffin. I felt like I was going crazy with what I wanted. I’m paying for my nails so I should get them exactly how I picture it right??? I felt like I was a bother. My nail tech was nice but I definitely felt like I was not at all getting what I wanted. I paid over 70 including tip for nude Acrylic nails. Plain ash Jane nails. Ugh I should’ve walked out and gotten my nails done somewhere else.

Did not listen to me and did what they wanted to do. Did not paint full nail. Do not recommend.

I loved it here. I couldnt find a good spot and I found this place. I decided to bring my mom for a mothers day treat and she had a terrible experience with Guadalupe. I was really shocked and disappointed on how the situation was handled. The disrespect was real and I wont be returning.

Bliss is absolutely amazing. My wife and I went and got a manicure and pedicure and the environment is relaxing and the Staff is amazing. The Owner Susan is so welcoming and ensures that all of her clients are treated wonderfully

Went and got my nails and feet done this past Friday and paid 140$ total for everything due to adding nail extensions and s&s and not even 24 hours my nails began breaking off. This is the 3rd time I’ve had my nails and or paint chip off right after getting them done so I will definitely not be returning here

I absolutely love this nail salon. It’s beautiful, inviting, upscale, relaxing, and clean. Most of all, I enjoy the personal service that I receive. My nails always come out better than I hope for; and my nail tech gets my shape right every single time! If you want a peaceful and relaxing nail salon to go to, THIS IS THE PLACE!

Theyll do a good job but beware itd a 10$ charge if they touch your cuticles. Even after specifically telling them I didnt want them trimmed they instead charged me for pushing them back. Got charged 43$ for gel polish and then to push my cuticles. Didnt offer a kind explanation other than just get a color change next time. Let me also mention my nails are NUBS because I had already cut them short prior to coming. Terrible customer service when you have an issue or you tell them no and they do it anyways.

Bliss Nail Bar is my favorite nail salon in Durham because it is clean and inviting. Their prices are reasonable for high quality work. Maria did an especially great job on my Rio Red OPI gel mani, but every nail tech I have had the last 4 times I visited has been good. My only wish is that they expand their color selection of gel polish!

My favorite nail salon. The location is beautiful and convenient to Duke university and other shops. They offer you a beverage and the services are quick and welp priced for the area. Its not as cheap as some options in Durham but you get what you pay for when it comes to nail service. Everything is comfy and new and there are plenty of chairs to bring all the girls to get pampered with a pedicure and some wine!

I really tried to like this place. I’ve been three times and each time my gel polish starts to peel within 48 hours. My gel polish NEVER peels when I go somewhere else, and I’ve been getting gel nails for 3 years now.

Initially the environment and rating would make you think you would receive great services, which is my mistake because you should never judge a book by its cover . Enjoyed the pedicure . The acrylic/dip nail tech was terrible . Then the price was changed multiple times and neither of the tech understood a thing being said . Will not come back to this establishment .

Perhaps my 2star review is a bit unfair having never received a service. I’ve tried to get a service at least 3 times with a scheduled appointment always coming 10-15min prior to the scheduled time. The teen at the front desk takes my appointments but somehow she messes up the services and is a bit rude. Today I went in for a pedicure but they were running late so I went next door to grab a drink, and I came back and I saw 3 other girls picking a color and told me I had to wait for them to finish? After I had an appointment and I came on time. This has happened one other time with my appointment. The other time she confused my service and told me there was no one there to take care of me. I will not be returning i was expecting better treatment for the prices and location. I will stick to my usual place in brier creek, much better customer treatment.

I had a bad a experience with Posh nail salon in Durham. Things happen right...well to my surprise I decided to go to Bliss Nail Bar and received the BEST nail service. My gel manicure is BomB!😍💃 I would referr Blish and definitely visit for my next spa day. 👍💞

Beautiful, clean and spacious. Staff is friendly and welcoming. I just had a bad experience. The nail technician I got didn’t really understand me and left my toe nails crooked. Before I left she had to polish a about a fourth of nail on three of my nails that she didn’t polish. She didn’t remove the paraffin wax correctly so once my nails finished drying, the nail polish started separating and spreading. She got nail polish on a few of my toes. I had to go back to get it fixed. The owner, a blonde lady, was there. She greeted me and specifically asked some Latino ladies to fix my nails. She told her I speak Spanish so it would be better ( I’m unsure if her intent was to accommodate me or the ladies, but regardless of the fact, we all spoke perfect English as far as I could tell). I feel like either the owner or the Asian lady that did my nails yesterday should have fixed them. After they had been fixed they looked fine. I just have to wait a couple of weeks for one of my toe nails to grow back out and get a normal shape. I have one squared toe nail and one round toe nail. As far as the polish goes, it looks great.

Yesterday was my first visit to Bliss Nail Bar on Ninth Street in Durham. I cannot say enough good things about the place - from my call to ask about appointments until I left with a gorgeous manicure and pedicure - every step was professional, serene and relaxing. I would highly recommend asking for Dulce Apolonio by name - she was highly skilled and a lot of fun to talk to - she really did a fantastic job!

Great manicure! I live in another state, but come to Durham frequently for work. Just got my second gel manicure here. The salon is clean and inviting. Staff are friendly and skilled at what they do. Ill definitely plan on coming back when Im in town.

Pleasantly surprised. I am not a nail person. I dont get my nails done often at all. But this experience was so pleasant, I may become a nail person. Very professional, knowledgeable staff. They took their time, no rushing. Atmosphere comfortable and welcoming.

WOW, I never though I would have to write a negative review for this beautiful place, but I am because I came in about two weeks ago and got my nails done by the woman with blond hair. I loved the offer of the drinks, but I came to get my nails done not for the beautiful place or the drink. I went in to get my nails done for the coffin shape, but got a poorly done acrylic that didnt even last a week before I had to go back to get them redone. Then a few days later most of the nails started to peel off so I decided to go back to ask them to redo all my nails, but they told me that they have a policy to only redo nails with in a week. I am writing this because I payed $40 to get acrylic nails that were supposed to last weeks (3-4) not one. I know this because I got my nails done somewhere that lasted way longer but I had a gift card so I decided to try Bliss but did not get my moneys worth.

Was not happy with my experience! Will not go back!! I did not get the $36 total pedicure, plus tip! I was treated differently than my friends that I went with! Need training in diversity!

Best Nail Salon in Durham!!!! This salon is SO relaxing; I almost fall asleep during my manis and pedis. It is also impeccably clean, and the technicians are quite professional and kind. I also LOVE their policy about being courteous on your cell phone...No one wants to hear someone elses music or conversation!!!! The clientele is respectful and classy. In addition, I like the fact that when you make an appointment, you are serviced on time. In turn, on the rare occasion I am running late I call ahead to let them know, and Susan, the owner, is very accommodating. All the services have been excellent (waxing, manicures and pedicures), and the comped glass of wine is just a bonus.

Had the deluxe pedicure package. Was disappointed with the care of my toe nails and massage. I chose to get gel polish, and was disappointed with the execution of each layer. The pedicurist kept moving the gel machine and touching my toenails, smudging the paint.

Stephanie was an amazing nail tech. Courteous, knowledgeable and my nails look fierce... I will recommend to friends.

Ive been going to the salon for a while now and I had to lower my rating. The atmosphere in the salon has changed and I have experienced 2 bad polish jobs within the past month. My nails have been way too thick and the polish peels off fast.

I had an awesome experience! Went for my birthday indulgence. They give you a glass of complimentary wine (and not just cause its your birthday). Got the ultimate mani/pedi. 9/29 Update, Anne-Marie saving grace. Owner...Originally would have given 5 stars, but upon my third visit my experience took a turn for the worst. I had an appointment, was not a walk-in. I was made to wait 35 minutes before the appointment actually began. Now at this point this means I am not going to be able to get the mani-pedi I wanted to. Im not happy about this, but what can I do save either leave and go start a new somewhere else or continue with a service that is going to leave me unsatisfied. Due to other appointments starting anew was not a viable option and I absoulutly had to have a mani-pedi for a job interview the next day. My appointment was for 4 p.m. I arrived and checked in at 3:55.I was also told to go ahead and select my colour, which I did. 4:10 I was told I could head back. Mind you know one came and got me I was told to just walk back. I did so and someone who was working on another client waved me to the last chair. Someone else jumped up and assisted me into the chair. No one bothered to introduce themselves to me. The young lady that assited me to my chair went back to her client.4:20 The lady who waved me back came over & filled the bin with water. Mind you still no introduction. She asked how the temperature was. It was fine.4:25 The water is now tepid & no one has begun my pedicure. SIGH, so I know Im going to have to get a pedicure I dont want as the one I wanted was a 45 minute, toss in the 30 minute manicure and the fact that I need to pick up my kid at 5:50. A blonde lady (I mention her hair colour as Ive seen her there in previous visits and she is the only blonde I have seen there) is picking up & doing whatever tells me that my technician will be right with me.4:30 Still no one, the blonde lady passes near me again and I ask her how long is this going to take & was told she was supposed to be with me. She looks around trying to find her. Located her in the bathroom. Now let me pause right here and say I have zero issue with the tech needing to go to the loo. She is a human being after all. BUT, still no one has come over and introduced themselves to me. And as far as apolgizing for my now 30 minute wait, not a peep from ANYONE.4:35 the young lady appears. Doesnt greet me. Doesnt introduce herself. She starts to work, mind you didnt refresh the tepid water. I looked at her like she was crazy, which of course she was clueless as she didnt look up at me. I guess she just magically knew what type of pedicure to proceed with. She does finally ask me what type I would like, at which point I informed her (I promise you I had a tone as I was trying hard to hold on to my temper) that Id have to go with with a basic as this appointment was already 35 minutes behind. If you think I got an apology at this point youd be mistaken. She just said okay & went about her business.When she finished she told me I could go sit under the lamp. At which point I had to tell her NOOOOO I still need my manicure. She sighed and walked me to the front and passed me off to a gentleman. He at least greeted me, but once again failed to introduce himself to me. He was friendly though. He asked what I wanted & made polite small talk with me while he worked on me. He even helped put my Birkenstocks on so that I wouldnt mess up either may pedi or my mani.I go to pay and inform the young lady at the counter that I wasnt happy as I had had to wait for over 30 min. Do you think she apologized? Nope. Simply said okay and gave me the bill. I called the next day to ask to speak with the manager. I really was not amused about the service and even madder that I was going to have to pay to have a second pedicure done. Manager not in but he would return my call the next time he was in. I waited a week. No one called me. I called back. Same story. It is now more than two weeks later still no return call.

Clean shop, professional service, and ability to book appointments. What more can you ask for in a nail salon.

Recently I was visiting from Tampa Fl to attend my brothers graduation. On a Sunday morning I decided to google a nail salon that was close by and that was open on a Sunday. After reading the reviews and pictures I decided on this place. The staff is very friendly, I didnt make an appointment and had to wait, but not for long. The salon is very sheek and beautiful. Loved the atmosphere. Amy provided my gel and pedi services. The reason why I rate my experience with 3 stars is because I was charged for waxing of my eyebrows and didnt receive the service and I didnt have the opportunity to wash my hands during the gel service. BUT, since I travel to Durham, NC often and If I ever need a gel and pedi, I would definitely go back and see Amy.

A very nice and relaxing place that is clean and love the atmosphere, location and setting. The staff is very nice and I especially love the great job that Stefani does with both my mani & pedi. Great service is what will keep this Carmel Dulce coming back again for more:).

Went here for a mani and pedi with a group. We all appointments. I got my pedicure done and the technician said she would be doing my friend’s pedicure, then come back to me to do my manicure. She completely forgot to come back and finish my service, and moved on to another client not in our group. When I mentioned this to her and another technician, she completely ignored me. Overall a kindof strange and unprofessional experience. If she would have acknowledged the situation and apologized it would have been fine. Instead I left feeling really weird and did not get my manicure completed. Probably won’t be back.

Walked in on a Sunday at around 5:15 for a mani pedi. Waited for 10 minutes before anyone asked me my service. When I told the owner mani pedi she refused to take me because they were closing at 6pm. Quote its Sunday and we dont want to work late. Have NEVER been turned away from a nail salon over 30 minutes before closing. Very unprofessional and rude. Dont waste your time.
