I did not have a great experience .. i went in for a pedicure, it didn’t last the time mentioned (50 min) It has only been 2 days since my pedicure and my toe nail is already chipped .. I felt like the massage was lacking. Im disappointed because I was excited to finally find a non toxic salon .. but unfortunately my experience was not great.

Such a nice job! This picture is from 5 days later (barely any chips). They did such a nice job shaping my nails and cleaning up my cuticles. You get what you pay for and I cannot wait to go back!

I love Basecoat! A variety of chemical-safe products, fun atmosphere, expert nail techs! The only reason Im giving it 5 stars is because its a little bit more pricey than other places and parking can be difficult to find. So keep those in mind when you go. Make sure to give yourself time to park!

Absolutely horrible. They have cancelled on me twice. The first they were unable to reschedule for weeks but I was patient and understanding because things happen. Now, they cancelled at the last minute and offered no accommodation or help rescheduling. I’m going on a trip and wanted my nails done. Do not expect your appointment to actually mean anything because they can cancel at any time and then tell you the next available Saturday is 6 weeks away. Truly unacceptable.

As a retired cosmetologist I was very pleased at the Covid safety protocol followed by the staff. I had a manicure and my daughter-in-law had a pedicure. Very professional and friendly! I will recommend this business to anyone who asks!!

I absolutely love this place! My nails always turn out beautiful and the staff is kind and professional. I like that they don’t use toxic products. They have good COVID protocols in place like plexiglass barriers between you and the nail tech. The atmosphere is very relaxing. This is the only place I’ll go for my manicures and pedicures!!

Love this salon for many reasons. First and foremost, really appreciate their commitment to using safe products. The nail polish is amazing, and my manis and pedis last forever. Cassiopeia is awesome, I book with her every month because she’s so fun to chat with and does an amazing job. Absolute gem of a human. Everyone there is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Plus, a glass of rose when you check in - it’s heaven. It’s my favorite me time.

Such an amazing experience! The salon itself has a great vibe to it and is extremely clean. I was offered tea when I was waiting for my appointment, too. They have a great selection of colors, and the manicure itself was great. I have extremely sensitive skin, and my hands feel refreshed from their all natural, non-toxic products :)

Very friendly and attentive staff. Airy and tranquil setting; nicely decorated with nail and beauty merchandise offerings. Complimentary water, tea, or rose wine. Nail tech was very gentle and took her time to ensure my pedicure was top quality. Like that they make their own natural nail polish.

Nice atmosphere with nontoxic and locally made products. Staff are friendly and great at what they do. Parking is off street which can be hard at certain times but not impossible.

Wow! Morie is amazing. I always hesitate to get a pedicure because it always feels like a waste of my money. The paint chips, the service is sub par. Morie doubled as the best pedicure artist ever and my therapist. I cant speak highly enough of her or of this place. I hope as this place expands it maintains its unique charm.

Just finished up at Base Coat. The friendly staff was able to squeeze me in for a Base Coat Pedi, I was welcomed with a hot cup of tea and a comfortable chair. Cassiopeia was awesome, great conversation, very professional, and rocks a kick ass pedi. The salon smelled great and not like chemicals, A++, Im excited to return!

Unfortunately, BaseCoat is not worth the hype and not the place for me.1. This place is always booked out. I originally thought this was a good thing but upon arrival it wasnt even packed. I came in on a Sunday. I understand finding talent can be difficult, but more availability would be nice.2. Not all nail techs are equal. BaseCoat does a pre-call to confirm your appt, review the cancellation policy, and remind you to tip your tech in cash or venmo, only. This makes you think quality service is their first priority, right? See #3.3. They have an upcharge for e v e r y t h i n g. Im okay with upcharges if they guarantee quality work. I wanted to do a line on one finger and the tech politely said I cant do design. Okay, Im creative and I asked if I can do different colors on each finger or alternating colors. The answer was yes, for an additional $$$. Cuticle oil? Also, extra. Massage? Thats extra, too.4. My tech did a great job cleaning my nails up. But upon closer inspection I noticed bubbling in my nails. Not her fault, I assume its from the gel not curing correctly (probably the BaseCoat nail polish honestly bc Ive never has this problem before). I immediately sent a photo to customer service and they offered to reschedule me to fix. YAY!..........Unfortunately they could not get me in the location I originally got my nails done at and they wanted me to drive an additional 30+ miles to an alternate location. I asked why I couldnt go to LoHi and it had nothing to do with location, I had to go where my tech was. Why is this my problem to fix?Their solution was to have ME pay for ANOTHER manicure with a new nail tech If I wanted to be serviced at LoHI. Sorry BaseCoat unsure how Im responsible for your problem.Will not be returning here. Instead, I found a new place who was happy to jump in and help! Thanks, Nest!!!!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!They only accept cash tips but they have an ATM. Appointment #1 I tried to take cash out but the ATM didn’t issue funds despite the receipt showing money was issued. I was told to contact the ATM company and my bank and received no assistance or apology.#2 wasn’t noteworthy#3 During our pedicures, my nail tech cursed and talked about intimacy with a man in a restaurant kitchen, while my husband was sitting next to me and there were children in the salon.Despite these experiences, their polish lasts extremely well, so I booked a 4th appointment for a mani/pedi while my mom was visiting from the East coast.#4 My mom suddenly became sick around 3 AM with a 24hr stomach bug. I emailed to cancel 1-2 hours ahead (their voicemail directs you to send an email). They contacted me 30 mins after the appointment and told me I’d need to pay unless we provided a doctor’s note. I explained there was no reason to go to a doctor yet and she’d be paying a lot at urgent care or the ER, since she has out of state insurance. I requested to speak with a manager. They emailed me later stating the manager agreed not to charge me but I’m no longer welcome at their salon.FINE BY ME!!!

Also next door to a liquor store.Cons: Booking process is annoying and complicated, they require a credit card to hold appointment. Gel mani started chipping one week after. I’m not hard on my nails, this is odd for me. Expensive - $100 for gel mani/pedi which didn’t hold up.Overall: They have organic, chemical free, etc polish and gels which makes me wonder if it’s not sturdy or something? Unsure. Because booking is a hassle, mani chipped so quickly and the high price, I won’t be going back.

They can’t take you in even though they close at 8pm and you get there at 6:30 pm for only a pedicure. They front lady told me that they close at 7:30. Alright I guess you don’t want my money and tips.

Ill preface this by stating that this review is focused solely on the customer service I received at Base Coat. Unfortunately, they cancelled my appointment, so I was never able to come in for the service I needed.I booked an appointment for a mani/pedi at Base Coat in August 2018, over a week in advance; I was heading out of country for a wedding the day after my appointment, and wanted my nails to look great. Base Coat holds itself out as a high-end nail salon, which their prices reflect. Therefore, I expected the service to be top-notch, as well as the mani/pedi. A Base Coat rep emailed me at 11:00 am the day of my appointment to inform me the technician who was to perform my service was out that day, so they would need to reschedule my appointment. I responded immediately, stating that I needed my nails done for a wedding and needed to get in some time that day or the next day. I frantically started calling around to other salons, trying to find someone to get me in in the next 24 hours. An hour later, I still had heard nothing back from Base Coat, but fortunately found someone else to fit me in later in the day. Two hours after I told them I needed to reschedule ASAP, they responded, stating that they were unable to accommodate my schedule, but not to worry because I would not be charged for the appointment THEY had cancelled with nearly no notice (gee, thanks?). No apology included in that message; though I will note they offered a discount on my next service. I responded and indicated I was a bit frustrated that they cancelled on me with such short notice and could not fit me in any time in the next 24 hours. I understand things happen (though was not happy about how they handled it). I inquired about what type of discount they could offer on my next service. I never heard anything back.It may have been a blessing in disguise - I was able to find another salon and got my mani/pedi at half the price Base Coat quoted me. The real bummer is I live within a few blocks of Base Coat, and was hoping to become a regular customer given the convenience. After moving my entire schedule around 24 hours before leaving the country to accommodate a new nail appointment, its clear booking with Base Coat is anything but convenient, despite their close proximity.

Came in for a quick mani pedi by appointment with a friend, don’t live here and found the salon on instagram. GREAT EXPERIENCE. Cassiopeia and Brittany took great care of us. We had so much fun. I wish the salon was in my town so I could see them all the time. If you’re just passing thru, look them up. If you’re lucky enough to live here, make a standing appointment with these ladies they will treat you amazing. The service was top notch, clean salon, but the real treasure here is the staff. THANK YOU BRITTANY AND CASSIOPEIA!

Would suggest updating google search that you are appointment only. Needed two nails fixed, didn’t have appointment and they were booked up for night. Two nails were just shellac fix.

The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was cool. Service was good. However, the technique and application was mediocre for the price. $110 for a (luxe) basic mani/pedi is over priced in my opinion. I choose Basecoat because I wanted an attention to detail service and received more of a basic nail service. I could have gone somewhere else and paid 1/3 of that price and probably received a better service.

Walked in at 6:50, there were 2 customers. One got up and left within 5 mins (she was done). Yet they told me they dont have availability as I watched the girl walk out back and be done for the night. Other girl is wrapping up now and its 6:58. Not sure why they couldnt take me? Wasted $20 in Uber rides. My fault for not making an appt but theyre not busy sooooo??

From the moment I walked in I was greeted sincerely and walked thru polish choices and tea (wine, water, tea is complimentary ).My 1 hour of heaven with Caroline included; nail trimming, cuticles pushed back (nipping those cuticles arent good), callous filings (poor Caroline had to work hard on my callous ), organic lemongrass and lime scrub, foot & calf massage with organic oil, base coat polish, and the finishing touch with their base coat oil.I will definitely make a stop here every time I visit.
