I dont leave a lot of reviews but I think this place deserves it. Moving in and living here has been such a great experience. We love the apartment and the move to this area has been good for us. The office staff here is really amazing - special callout to Sheree! Shes incredibly helpful, supremely friendly and caring, is detail-oriented and very solutions-driven - she even knows what direction the windows face in every apartment on the complex! Give her a raise, promote her, just keep her around!! Im glad we moved here and am feeling very grateful for the treatment weve received - truly a luxury apartment. Thank you again!
The office staff are really great! this would be my first time giving a review for apartments. they are positive, helpful, and just all around great! only reason i give this a 4 star not a 5 star. because of the other people that live here. when parking next to you. you get door dings and scratches. as they dont value their cars. other then that... super great place to live!
I was trying to get an apartment here but i dont think i will now. they seemed nice to live in, but the staff wont even get back to me, i called twice and they told me they would need to ask their manager, so they would call me back or send an email, i have received absolutely nothing, still... is it so hard to get back to people? apparently
The grounds are beautiful, especially the newly updated outdoor common/pool area. But its an absolute shame that I pay for these amenities and cant even use ANY of them, including the dog wash. Its almost the end of June and still have not been able to use the pool due to permit issues. Sure you cam blame covid, but every other pool in town is open. You call management with a simple question or complaint but it takes 2-4 days to ever hear anything back. But in the meantime the office staff has time to congregate by the pool and smoke cigarettes and laugh and joke around, but they cant even answer the phone. Truly beautiful on the outside but ugly on the inside.
Leaving a one star review only because the maintenance department at this apartment complex is a complete joke. They rarely actually fully repair anything, instead they just patch things up until it breaks again shortly after. For example: We’re on our fourth time having to call maintenance to our apartment to fix a simple closet door, and If I had to guess it won’t be fixed properly this time either. The last Maintenance person we had reinstalled the door upside down for some reason, he also reinstalled the knob in the middle of the door instead of the left hand side where it belongs, and it’s broken again. Simply lazy. Additionally, it’s very frustrating that they barley ever come in the window of time the front office says they will, if they ever come at all.
Moved in 3 months ago love My 1bd 1ba with vaulted ceilings, full size washer and dryer, and fire. Best part is its Dog friendly with a dog park and dog wash, My Chico loves it.. Finding an apartment that allows a 100 pound American Bulldog is rare and Im thankful 🙏
A disastrous experience, since I measured myself I am insisting day by day that they replace the washing machine because I do not silve and they only tell me that they are going to send someone and they never send it, they have no word, 0% recommended.
I called for information about availability and I was informed the company is under new management. I spoke with a new leasing agent Ana, she was very easy to talk to, informative and reassured me if I do move in I will be taken care of by staff. In apartment hunting I have never felt so comfortable by speaking to staff via telephone and I was so amazed by the professionalism. I am definitely applying to move in and look forward to my new home!! Thank you Ana!!
If you don’t feel like reading this entire thing, in short: DO NOT MOVE HERE.I lived at Velo Apartments since December 2017 until end of July 2020. In the last year alone there has been multiple changes to management and it seems that with every management change, the quality of service went down the drain (not that it was ever great to begin with). Last year our AC wasn’t working. I had a three month old, a 2 year old & a 13 year old dog who had breathing issues and it took at least a month to be “fixed”... fast forward a year and it’s summertime again and surprise, surprise - our AC isn’t working. Again it took weeks to fix. When I called to ask when it could be done I was met with an attitude and told that it wasn’t technically an emergency situation. They finally had to replace the entire AC unit. There were countless other things that broke in our apartment or needed repair that we would never receive call backs for and we ended up just dealing with it or fixing it ourselves.Apparently one of our neighbors had roaches so we got a notice less than 24 hours in advance that we would need to be out of the apartment (with our animals) for the entire next day & that we would also need to have all the cupboards emptied. We would have people in and out of the apartments multiple times due to the constant change in management. The way these things were handled was extremely unprofessional. When we were set to move out we called the management team MULTIPLE TIMES to get info on what we needed to have done exactly to make sure our move out went as smoothly as possible. No return calls were made. We then got a bill a few weeks after we moved out for a RIDICULOUS amount for “repair of damages”. We left the apartment the best we could and although it wasn’t perfect it wasn’t $1,000+ in repairs. It’s been a week since I called to speak them about this bill and still no one has returned my call.So if you’d like to live in an apartment where the maintenance doesn’t get taken care of and where they ignore your calls, Velo is the perfect apartments for you.
At first, I had great contact with a leasing agent. She showed me pictures of an apartment I was interested in and I even applied to get approved. Fast forward a week and a half later, I had left multiple voicemails at the front office, emailed the manager, assistant manager, the general mailbox, and the leasing agent I was in contact with and I had no update on my application. I was going to sign a lease but my experience with the company turned me off to the property and I removed my application. I dont know how they can keep potential tenants if they behave this way. Shame on them.
Just moved in a week ago and I Love this property, they are always nice and helpful in the office and I’m very happy with my apartment. It’s my first apartment I leased and don’t plan on going anywhere. Please keep up the great work!
I just moved in and I am impressed! Everything has been smooth. The neighborhood is really enjoyable and I love having Bear creek trail so close! I would really recommend living here! The office staff was amazing!!
Very spacious apartments with great amenities centrally located in bear valley!
Homeless people constantly hanging around. Maintenance requests never get done. Neighbors will hit your car and damage it pretty bad while its parked and blame it on you for how you were parked. The people that live here are trash. 4 different managers in one year. The water pressure is a drizzle. This place is the worst apartment Ive ever lived in. Rude management, incompetent maintenance, police constantly dealing with domestic stuff. Moving out soon and excited to leave this place behind and never look back
Do not move here. Ive been here for 10 months and they just changed management companies for the THIRD and property managers FIVE times. Every time, they seem to have no transfer of information and the people who work here are clueless. As soon as I make progress to get a problem resolved, the management changes. Then have to go through the process again. The community is difficult to get in and out of. The pool is barely ever in service. There is constant construction in the complex. The shipping lockers are a mess and packages are often lost, delivered to the wrong place, or simply just tossed in the mail room where anyone can pick them up. This place sucks and I cant wait to get out of here.
We have gone through yet another management change(3rd one in the last 6 months we have been here). Every time we have just a few days to prove yet again we have insurance otherwise we have to pay a fee. So it’s hard to get anything taken care of. Previous management took 3 weeks to finally believe our washer and dryer was broke and got a us a new one. This whole summer we haven’t had ac and the person who just moved in below us, smokes like a chimney. Right on her little porch area she just sits, she doesn’t even walk away, so it comes right up into *ding ding* our apartment. I run and that smoke is actually causing me health issues. Is there a rule about smoking so close to a building?! If not there should be. Starting at about 4:30am! Since our windows are open all day everyday I know. It actually wakes me up. Can’t hardly sleep from the heat and smoke mixture on top of hardly being able to breath from allergies. Make sure you check your unit ac before you move in here! Also the cupboard drawers- half of ours were/are broken and actually scrape dust into our dishes.
Just recently moved out but noticed a HUGE change when the new Echelon management came to the property. Friendly staff and always with a smile, willing to help specially with these rough times! Highly recommend!
They take a long time to fix your stuff then they send a complete work order and they havent been in the unit to fix it the only came to check and nothing got done. The washer transmission is broken the bathroom fan doesnt work the kitchen light fixture is hanging from one side and the kitchen fan doesnt properly work. We have tried calling the office and we got told they cant do nothing about it for the reason that we already have to many work orders.
Dont move here!! I have been renting here for several years, and this newest management company is the worst so far. I have multiple complaints but the most damning one in my mind is about my last maintenance request. The dishwasher probably needed replacing long before I moved in, so we werent really surprised when it stopped working. We put in a request and heard nothing for like a week and half. Literally all we asked for was a phone call day of, which there is a specific field for in the online request form!! Our sweet dog is very scared of strangers and would bolt for sure if she wasnt safely behind a closed door. They decided to show up a day we were out, and thank God my s.o. decided to put our dog in our room just on the off chance they did show up. We came back at the end of the day, no note, no invoice, theyd never called, the only proof they came was a different dishwasher and several missing items gone with the old one. If my s.o. hadnt decided to play it safe that specific day, our baby would have heard strangers coming into her home with mom and dad gone and bolted out the door. Also had they called like we asked or given us any notice at all, we would have made sure the dishwasher was empty. Im counting the days until our lease is up.
A/C never works properly. Every time you ask maintenance to look at anything, they say there’s nothing wrong as it continues to break. Don’t order packages cause there’s a HUGE chance it will get stolen out of the parcel and they will do NOTHING to help you. Even though, it’s a federal crime for someone to steal your package. The office management is constantly changing cause they can never keep up, I guess? Don’t live here. You’ll regret it.
Ricky was one of the most professional maintenance people I have ever dealt with. He was very concerned about the issues that I was having and he let me know that he was going to fix everything the right way so I will never have this issue again. And also he did not stop until the job was done and he even actually check a little bit more problems that I was having that Was very awesome of him. He honestly deserves to be supervisor of this complex. Since he is the only one that really cares about the people and residents of this complex.
I absolutely love it here! The office staff and maintenance are fantastic! I have only had two maintenance requests since I moved in and they were both handled promptly and staff was super professional. My apartment backs to the green belt which is great for walking my dog or travelling on foot to the grocery store. I would recommend living here. Great apartment. great staff, great price! Keep up the good work!
Sandra has been such an amazing and helpful person to help my group and I move into an apartment. She has really taken the time to talk with me and my group one on one to make sure that we have everything we need to make sure we need to be living at Velo Apartments comfortably and securely. The amenities are amazing, the apartments are roomy, and needless to say the staff is on it. cant wait to look forward to moving in in January!
The staff at Velo has always taken good care of me and my family. Beau has always quickly done any service requests in my apartment. Angela is very nice and she is always personable when I speak to her in the office. I am happy to have the office here as they are almost like family. Thank you to you all.Camille has even helped me get a new job :)
Im posting this under my sons google account as I do not have one. My name is Gloria and I just moved into this place in November. It has been one thing after the next. We are in a garden level apartment(yeah I should have known it was a mistake but I was in a hurry to move). You can see through the windows because the blinds are not long enough so there is no privacy. We have had an ant problem for months. Throughout the winter this is a problem. Im afraid to know what the summer is going to be like. I have continuously contacted them about ants all over the bathroom and kitchen counters and they send pest control out but the problem is never resolved. We are not messy people and we do not have pets. This place is disgusting! Why are their bugs on my toothbrush?! Gross! Ive never experienced this anywhere Ive lived. Its currently 12:30 AM and I have work tomorrow and cannot take a shower because there is NO HOT water!!!!!!!! Pathetic. Its freezing outside, and I have small children. If maintenance does not show up and fix this issue I will be breaking my lease as these apartments have failed to provide a safe and suitable living environment for my family. The bugs and now I cant even take a shower when I need to. On top of all that, the parking situation is terrible. Stay away from these apartments!
I am extremely distressed from a earwig infestation I have since the 4th of July and after their pest control failed to resolve the problem, I want to leave. I have been trying to reach management since last week and they never return the calls. This has been a nightmare.
EDIT: 6/15/20Dora saw my review and got the towing situation squared away once and for all. I am super happy! I also want to say Ana and Cherie are all super great to work with.I pondered long and hard about this review and how many stars to give this apartment complex and their management. Since this review will reflect on the latest property management group, Echelon, I will try to focus primarily on my experience since they have started managing.I have reviewed other critical reviews and mostly agree with them. Although it is true you will have your packages from Amazon stolen consistently; that is mostly the fault of Amazon itself. Velo apartments provides secured lockers that Amazon no longer uses for safety reasons regarding COVID-19. I have complained to Amazon several times and they keep refunding me and simply tell me to put special delivery instructions saying not to leave packages in the mailroom unsecured. Amazons rep even admitted the delivery person wont listen, but it will ensure Im protected because they are forced to take a picture of where they leave the package. When their picture reflects it being left in the mailroom you get leniency when you create a claim. My packages have never been stolen within 48 hours. It only happens if I forget or am out of town for 3-4+ days. Then you can almost guarantee someone will help themselves to your package. Again, this is ultimately the fault of Amazon.I wholeheartedly believe that Echelon/Velo apartments is ran by good helpful people. For example my wife and I are having a house built. COVID-19 has messed up our move in date which puts us in a serious bind with our lease/living situation. The team at the local Velo leasing center have always been very understanding and fair. After explaining our situation and the financial burden this has caused on us they were able to save the day and come up with a solution that is beneficial for everyone involved! In the end I saw that they have bosses and people to answer to, but ultimately they are human and truly want to help if you are a reasonable person yourself. I have no issues with anyone running the leasing office on-site. They are great people in my book, so ultimately I recommend this place for the price/management.
Beautiful complex! Great maintenance team! Always available to fix things or keep the grounds clean. And I absolutely LOVE Angela Ibarra in the leasing office! She makes living here feel like home and always happy to help!
I am a long time tenant. I received a renewal notice and have one question before renewing. I have left several voicemails for the the leasing office since it seems that no one is available to take your call no matter what time you call. I have sent emails with a response of I will look into this for you. Still waiting to hear back from someone. I am not sure if this is the way it is for everyone or if this is how they are treating the long time tenants they want out so they can renovate the apartment so they can rent it for more to the next person. Very frustrating when I cant receive a answer to a very simple question.
I am a resident at Velo Apartments. I would like to commend the office staff, Camille and Angela for making me feel welcome in a new place. Beau and Nick go out of their way to complete repairs in a thorough and professional manner! I would recommend Velo to others looking for an apartment!
We have been living here for two years and I cannot wait until our lease is up.The pool was closed most of the summer due to repairs and unauthorized items thrown into the swimming pool causing a build up of algae. Which tells you about the type of people who live here.On that note, we have constant problems with the people living in our building. Doors slamming and music playing loudly in the middle of the night. Had to call security three times. Twice for noise and once for a charcoal grill that blew smoke right into my apartment. The dumpsters are always overflowing and trash is blown all over the parking lot.As Im writing this review someone is letting off firecrackers in the common area. When we first moved in our unit was not completely cleaned and our tub was never finished. At that point it was too late to finish it because we had moved in and finishing it would have caused us to stay somewhere else for a few days with our cats. Also as of this review Ive been waiting two weeks for maintenance to replace a hallway light. Would do it myself if it was just a bulb but its one of those fixtures with built in lighting.Communication with the leasing office is widely inconsistent. Sometimes they get right back to you, other times its days and they always have some excuse. Most of the time we get forwarded to the corporate office who always refers us back to the leasing office. It is one of the cheaper complexes in the area. You get what you pay for.
Velo is great!I moved here recently and the leasing staff and management have been awesome in helping in my transition to my new apt. The Maintenance staff also does a great job from what I’ve experienced. The location is great and I’m glad I decided to live here!
I just want to say the ladies here are wonderful very understanding and hardworking keep up the hard work thank you
Their appliances are super inefficient. If you want your apartment electricity bill is 150$ per month, then live here. Or you can choose to stay in the apartment when its 90F in summer without AC on. I think winter will be better cause you can always wear more jackets.
Under the new management, this place is fantastic! I have placed 2 maintenance requests that were done the same or next day. They are always prompt and attentive when I come to them with the minor issues we encounter. My family and I are very appreciative of the upkeep of the grounds and how respectful the tenants around us are as well!
I really liked living here. However, under the new management the leasing office could improve. On 4 separate occasions the leasing office has closed 40min-1hr before their scheduled times. They say they close at 5:30 on weekdays on their door and until 6 on there webpage... but seems neither is correct. I’ve gone by as early as 4:30 and it’s already closed. Also I think the front office should be better about communication on maintenance issues my heat was out for like 4 days, it was between 20-30 degrees. No one got to my request until someone finally answered the phone after I called several times. Atleast an update would have been nice. They need to better categorize their maintenance requests maybe to prioritize things like having no heat in the winter. That was very uncomfortable.
Mimi does not answer the phone when I call. She has ignored my calls since she got my car towed for no reason. She told me she ignored my calls when she saw my number, and now she is refusing me to pick up a package which is medication I need.
Office staff is never there lack of communication between the office and residents as well as maintenance and residents. From first moving in there was and still is cat litter all over the carpet in my kids bedroom. Our washer was broken from when we first moved in and they didn’t fix it until it ended up leaking water to our downstairs neighbor. My current issue is the people under us no longer live there but all of there stuff is still in there. There is FLIES all in the apartment under us do to unsanitary conditions it was left in. They started coming in through our ac vent into OUR APARTMENT. Now we have to close our vents and can’t use our ac even with it closed there’s still flies.
I just want to thank Juan for all his hard work attending to all my needs today! Great maintenance team
Juan is amazing! Went out of his way just to make sure my safety was his first priority! Thanks maintenance!
When I moved in Velo apartments they had a promotion going on so that was a bonus for me and the office was run by different management and she was great really helpful when we had an issue to move in and there staff is also great really friendly can’t complain about that. The only issues I have is while living in a 2nd floor apartment you can hear all the foot steps and loud sounds my neighbors make and it’s pretty frustrating because sometimes the noises are more louder than my own TV. Also the garages are so small we have a truck and it bearly fits we thought we going to be able to storage some of our stuff inside there also but not really we nearly have room for our bikes and kayak and just because we have them hanging from the wall but beside that we like our garage because it protects our truck from the snow. The good thing this apartments are very convenient to stores and schools near by.
4/9/2020I wrote the lower review about 5 to 6 months ago. Thank Goodness Avenue5 is gone. Dora reached out to me asking why I wrote this review and explained it to her. Not only was she a listening ear, but she and Sharee are getting things done. Even with the Covid-19. They answer the phones. OMG they answer the phones. The maintenance men are ROCKSTARS!! Thanks Trevor and Kyle for getting my kitchen drawers and washer going. Your the best!!! Grounds are being kept up and that means alot to us residents.Thank you for the change keep it up!!!Happy Tenants Happy Neighborhood!!9/28/19I have lived here a long time. It was a wonderful place to live, then Avenue5 took over. And well it is like living in the oldback in the day 5 points projects.Pool was not even open for a month this year. They cleaned the apartment above me and left a nasty snelling mattress outside my living room window for 5 days. I had to go upstairs while the maintance man was working and demanded they move it, also told them it was rude they lefted it like that. We have had a wasp problem and nothing is done about it. Had repairs in my apartment needing to be fixed for almost 5 months now. I was told they are behind on work orders due to needing more staff. Well hire people to work! The office NEVER answers the phone!!! If you do not have someones email you are SCREWED!! Kids ride their skate boards in the parking lot. Small childern play in the streets with NO adult supervison. I am on 6 liters of 02 and asked them to please not allow residents to park backwards as it fills my apartment up with Exhaust fumes. I do have signs in all my windows letting everyone know. They do not shovel or put ice melt down. Bad for me cause then I am confined to my apartment in the winter. As it is too dangerous for me to be slipping on the ice rink of a parking lot and stairs. The manager is very very very rude! Neighbors are disrepectful and will have loud parties. I have called the police but let us be real I am not in any danger so 3 hours later they may show up. After hours Security hahahaha I called them once and was told they are closed from 8p to 8a!!!!Every single drawer in my kitchen is broken. I was told they can not fix them tell I move out because they are so old that they need to be replaced FYI as I have lived in this complex a long time this apartment I moved into last year. I was told the rent was rasied for the apartment was gutted and redone with new cabinets and fridge and stove. LIES!!!!I would move but being on a fixed income I am stuck! Save yourself some stress do not move here.So now 10/25/19 someone has moved in and has roaches for 2 weeks we have been complaining, was told that Jacobson Company was taking over and the soonest they could be out to spray would be friday (today). I asked why so long, when MiMi answered the phone and she said she would call me back! (Still waiting Mimi for that call back.) And just an FYI roaches lay 2 eggs every hour. So you can see why waiting is bad. Besides I pay pest control every month so why are we waiting to be infested? I am very clise to putting this on the news!!!!!Slum loard companies trying to make a quick buck!!!!
Velo took over management of the property and fired all previous employees to bring in there own staff of very rude and inconsiderate people. We were Forced to leave due to new dog breed restrictions and poor security. For a place with a dog wash station and very small off leash dog park you would think they wouldnt have a list of restricted dog breeds (seems like false advertising) . Also multiple time we have had issues with theft from our garage, the homeless have started making camps by the creek and more vandalism to cars have been reported, all in all this property looks good from the outside but has serious flaws within its management and security systems
When i have any problem in the apartment all the time juan fix right way and really good. He is really professional.
Sweet property located on the edge of the world! Neat! Clean! Well cared for with nice amenities! Smart and caring management who get it done without thinking because great customer service is ingrained in their DNA!
Parking for visitors is a major issue here. If you plan on parking here from evening into night time, as a visitor, you are likely not to find any parking. Visitors can only park on the street and it fills up quickly. I have started having to park up the street, near The Modern, about half a mile away since there is no visitor parking available when I get here. It is frustrating and stressful and the higher management hasnt done anything noticeable to come up with a solution. If there is no street parking available and you choose to park in one of the many available resident parking spots in the lot, your car will get towed.
I like how close this place is to the shopping area over on Wadsworth :) Were a new family so King Soupers and Walmart being close by are nice. Front staff & maintenance has always been really nice and kind. Theres a trail right behind the apartment that leads to two parks which is cool. We dislike the lack of parking, the fat raccoons, and the lack of storage in the kitchen. However, this is the first time weve ever resigned a lease and we might continue to do so.
Cars are continually broken into and damaged here with no response from the complex on the issue. There is no security what-so-ever in this complex so people know they can freely break into cars. Parking for visitors is a MAJOR issue. You can hear gunshots in the area almost nightly - I would strongly recommend to avoid this place. For $1400 a month for 1 br you can find so much better...
The maintenance staff, or head of maintenance Beau, does an exceptional job of trying to attend to every residents apartment issue. He really cares and provides exceptional work until the job is completely done.
Love her currently and the staff is awful, they allow multiple families to live in one apartment. Don’t move here! Worst nightmare ever
I lived here through 2015 the staff was usually friendly enough but certainly not helpful or responsible. Overall the apartments are actually decent, I liked my kitchen and they did fix stuff when it broke, though it took an average of 2 visits to the office to see that Happen.
Why does it seem that every time I try to grill, it’s either out of propane or now the common area is closed until “further notice”?How about you guys rebate all tenants on our rent? You sure as hell love charging over $300 if rent is a second late due to your servers not working, but won’t compensate for never having our amenities (included in our rent) available. Would you like me to send Trinity an invoice? This place is a joke.**In response to below: Why are you lying about such a silly thing? Unfortunately, my hands were full with everything to grill or I would have taken a photo. But 100% fact there was a chain around the resident access door and a sign that said “closed until further notice, sorry about the inconvenience!” Velo never accepts responsibility!
Maintenance was called a few times & never showed up. First it was the dishwasher & then the apt was smoky and smelled like plastic. When called they said the apt below you doesnt have a fireplace. Okay.... After a few days of still being wary & the following day of smoke & plastic we saw that the boiler room was unlocked. Maintenance or whoever is supposed to service it, are the only ones with keys; they demanded what was stored & shouldnt be there be removed, understandably its a hazard. When it was opened it was in TERRIBLE condition. That black pipe foam padding was pretty well melted away bc it touched the hot water heater, water damage on the ceiling & floor, rust, pipes that didnt meet eachother, we couldnt believe it.Next they evicted a family in an apt above just a few hours before a snowstorm. All dressed in black & some with face masks stomping & staring us down, it was intense. They were certainly on a mission. Whatever belongings were left behind stayed in the 3 parking spaces for 3 days during & after the storm. Come on... During the storm for days in spaces people pay for? The money people trade hours of their lives just to breathe in peace or provide for family? Woah. At the very very least let us have a grab at what theyve left behind. It was all usable & some really nice things I was sad to see get thrown in the dumpster. An unfortunate misuse of resources Ill say.& then apparently you can live there & still get your car towed! They were called bc the parking permit pass was misplaced & the gist of what they came back with was oh well, we cant do anything for you. $300 + later AND the car now in commerce city this complex at a dead end, those are some outlandish buisness practices. It sounds to me like making life harder than it already is is at the top of their to do list.Next they were redoing the carpet in the apt above & it sounded like the place was being trashed. No consideration for what time it was, people just wanting peace, & not even any of that so much but replacing the carpet should not sound like that. Being contractors ourselves & having done this, diagnosing that we knew it wasnt installed correctly before.Overall the aps come stock with no over head lighting except the kitchen, hall, & bathrooms. The rooms are dark, windows & doors have severe drafts causing condensation (no big deal some of our business cards and small papers got damaged but nothing ruined) & for us to of course turn the heat up - $$$ - no smoke detectors, the tow guy sits outside all night ideling his diesel. The dog park was muddy & gross - yeah, sure, its winter or whatever this weather we have going on is but for a fact it could be better maintained. No wood chips it looked like & a along with the sidewalks, the perfect place to slip. What was a really fun challenge was getting that big orange sticker they slap on your drivers side window off, after never seeing them before where cars have been parked. It says Violation | this vehicle is parked illegally and is hereby subject to towing & impoundment | your license number was recorded. What a JOKE. It took us 25 mins to scrape off the sticker & minimize the residue left behind; the paint it left on us we didnt have time to worry about right then & there. How good is that for the environment, ourselves & those around us? Makes you wonder....There could totally be better & more parking but for one the road is hardly touched for snow removal & the people park like jerks like a tailgate party is going to break out at any moment. We also recieved the only parking ticket on the block in another spot thats never been an issue prior. Everything was wrong - date, time, the phone number just goes to a dial tone, I mean any & everything possible was a red flag for fraud. Its disappointing to see a business operate in such a distasteful manner. Disrespectful, inconsiderate, spiteful, completely unhelpful and cooperative, inconsistent, greedy, bullying, & a total hazard. At least they were clear in their intentions.
My complaint with velo stands with the office and management staff. They could care less about the problems we have here. And they are quick to turn it around on the resident instead of helping those who live here. It sucks when you can’t go to the people in charge with issues. My car was towed last night. They want well over $200 to get it back. Apparently the parking pass fell off and is on the floor instead of hanging up. I’ve lived here for 3 years and my girlfriend 5 years, we’ve upgraded our apartment and eventually even got a garage for one of our cars. We’re paying an average of $1550 a month for a two bedroom plus garage. You’d think that just maybe, being a 3 year resident who’s car was parked within the same 4 spots it always is, the apartment management might try to help. No, they called and said “well he says he had one” then turn to me and say well they say you don’t so you’re wrong. Maybe they could try “hey this guy actually pays rent here give him his car back” I guess they no longer have a registry of cars that are registered here? They can prove it was okay to be here, in the way that I pay rent to be here. They employ the tow company, they can tell them it was a mistake. But no. Nothing. They do not care. All that I’ve ever heard back from them is “sorry, nothing we can do” or “sorry our hands are tied”. I’ve even had them say, “I wish I could help, this doesn’t seem right, but it’s not up to me”. Well who can help then? They don’t have an answer to that question. They will be quick to take your money though. The car isn’t the first time they didn’t help in a situation. We’ve paid rent late once, this year in fact, with this new management group, and there was a minor mistake online with routing numbers when they updated the web portal. We had to call and tell them they hadn’t taken the money out. They didn’t even notice. They ran over within 30 minutes of us having to tell them and posted a notice of eviction. Rent that month cost over $1800. And we paid it. Never had we been late before. But it didn’t matter to them. And nobody could do anything about it but take our money and let us know that they wish it wasn’t so impersonable, but agin there is nothing they can do. Why aren’t we protected here? Why doesn’t somebody here have our backs? Or at the very least, can we get someone working here who has authority to help the residents? I’m curious as to why a company like 5th Avenue would employ so many people ( or so few people, as I think they are short a couple of people between here and the Metro down the street ) whom none of which can ever do anything help the resident. There is no credit given for being a good tenant, long or short term. Makes no difference if you pay on time and have no complaints and even bring other people to the property to rent other apartments. It’s an average place to live. Our water is only off an average of 3 times a winter. The A/C usually breaks an average of 2 times a summer, sometimes more though when we are lucky. It takes an average of 4 days after a snow storm to de-ice the steps. Nothing really special here. You can count on one thing though, that management team sure does not care.
Unfortunately it wasnt a good one due to personal reasons, but I parking very limited considering the amount of residence which upon appearance Id guess if not full capacity very close to. I or residents own more than two vehicles per household. No visitor parking. The noticed when I visited at nights for babysitting, the amount of activity persons coming out of shadows walking from car to car on street n also the parking area. Ive never saw on grounds security. I YES there were multiple families living in one apt. I which by the way the one I was babysitting my grandchildren in was very small as far as the common areas are concerned ie. I frontroom, kitchen etc. Bedrooms spacious enough. The grounds appeared well kept, and green grass snow shoveled. I was quite surprised to see a lid size Jenga game pretty interesting. I I feel the management isnt on their job when it comes to screening potential residents and just how many persons reside in each apt. Its not easily accessible from the major intersections and is basically cut off from quick emergency response units being that its one obtainable street two narrow lanes that lead to a dead end.
100% hands down the worst, most incompetent apartment complex I have ever lived in. Be prepared to spend $100’s in fees as this company will charge for any little thing they can get away with. Yet they can’t manage to throw a little salt down on icy walkways at the bottom of staircases. Unfortunately the only person that worked in the office that was worth anything has resigned and we are now stuck with the bottom of the barrel. Can’t blame him, they treat their residents like dirt, I can’t imagine their employees are treated any better. I cannot wait to move out of this slum. Be aware of bugs, hidden fees, and a management company that couldn’t care less as long as they are getting paid at the end of the day. I requested a copy of my lease at least a month ago and I have yet to receive a copy so I’ll likely get dinged for something else when we move out but it will be worth EVERY penny to get away. You couldn’t pay me to stay here.
I am a current resident and cannot wait for my lease to be up. New management is HORRIBLE!! If you are looking at this property, I would caution you to reconsider.
Very nice location, if they are nice, but it serves ?, the service they give is the worst, is bad, have many flaws inside the apartment, and there are always excuses to repair, very poor service before living here ask. good day
Thanks for sending nick over to fix my a.c. unit he was fast and professional
This place is where dreams go to die. I cannot recall one time something that was promised by management was actually done.Key FOBS were promised a week after we moved in April 8th. We just got them late June/early July. The hot tub was promised to be up and running by Memorial Day. Still not functioning....The grill doesnt even have sufficient propane to allow for a BBQ on 4th of July! Sorry friends that wasted their time driving over. And last but not least, the common areas (pool, grill area, etc) are absolutely filthy. The pool water is cloudy and filled with leaves. The grill area is covered in grime and filth thats weeks upon weeks old. I moved here from Colombia which some people consider third world and we have higher standards of cleanliness. The common areas of my apartment in Colombia are clean and spotless.I only expected a lot more from an apartment complex in the USA but was sadly let down. My husband and I cannot wait to leave this place and for Wes Gingher to lose his job!
If you move here expect home inspections every 30 days. They have been trying to sell off the property for some time now. And every time someone expresses interest the tenants invaded. It appears Im unable to respond to the owners response. So Ill add it as an edit. If you want to work with my schedule then do it. Every single time anyone needs to be in the apartment, whether routin maintainance or these bank showings we get a notice that theyll be coming in sometime during a 3-5 DAY BLOCK. Before Trinity took over the maintenance team would give us a 2-4 hour block to expect them. And it worked great. We could accommodate being there with the dogs without having to take half a week off work . BUT since Trinity took over we are EXPLICITLY told on EVERY notice that there will be NO special scheduling. NO consideration no matter ther circumstances.
If you want your cars broken into or shot up its a good place to live.. Its a joke
This company is just money hungry and trys to take advantage of there residents! Ive lived here the last 14 yrs! When they took over they automatically raised my rent $200 Then they put in water saving toilets and showet heads and my bill doubled! Stay a long way from th is place!
I lived in Velo for 2 years. our first year there with the old management/staff was great. they were kind, happy, and always helped when needed. this last year with the new management and staff that they have are horrible. I needed to pay our last months worth of rent but couldnt online because they discontinued us being able to pay online. So I go in to ask how much I owe. Camille told me I owed one amount on Saturday. that following Monday, two days later angela told me we owed more, like 200 dollar difference more. she was rude and talks to you like youre stupid. I went in to the office because no one was answering the phone and it was 1130 in the morning. Angela was in the office on her cellphone. then she had to end her call to help me and the whole time she was looking my account up she was huffing and puffing like I was an inconvenience. this all happened on Monday. than Tuesday comes and she calls and tells me that we overpaid by 400 dollars!! like what? she is the one who told me a different amount the day before. the new staff is very unorganized and rude to say the least. The apartments have raccoons that get into the dumpsters and get the trash all over the parking lot. every morning the sprinklers have leaked water all into the parking lot in front of C building and its pretty much like swimming pools next to the cars, which im sure the residents pay for. the parking spaces are barley big enough to fit an SUV, so cars get dinged. the updated the swimming pool area, but the pool never opens until june or july. the hot tub never works, and the have pool security they are very good at selling the apartments to new residents. but I have to say dealing with angela, I am disappointed this establishment lets her deal with residents in the manner she does. this last year has been a nightmare and im glad we are no longer calling this place home.
The management was TERRIBLE since day one when it was Hunters Ridge. We thought the transfer to velo would be a lot better to work with... wrong. They are WORSE. Maintenence NEVER showed up for emergencies when they should have (like when my water wasnt working or when my water broke), they were supposed to replace toilets (that never happened), and everyone in the leasing office is just rude. I have now been out for over a month and am now being chased after COLLECTIONS because apparently we owe the $1,100 (and we NEVER received an invoice when they had our forwarding address and all mail was forwaded). Plus, they had not only my contact information, but my boyfriends as well and not one attempt was made to reach out to us via phone or email when they hadnt received an answer about our invoice. I had scrubbed the walls, deep cleaned the bathroom and kitchen, and shampooed the carpets on top of having multiple people coming to help for hours to clean. Their parking sucks, the towing company is now being sued, and Im pretty sure they just love to play games. All of my neighbors hated living there, and one actually up and left in October because she couldnt stand the leasing office and property. I am not happy and I would NEVER recommend this place to anybody.
Good apartments, a little issues with management and paperwork but overall a good experience
This place is disgusting and the management is terrible - went there for a tour and Angela was super rude and not at all knowledgeable. Furthermore, when I told her I was no longer interested after seeing the premises, she continued to harass me by phone and email. The place is dirty, everything is run-down and on the way out, I talked to a current resident who told me to STAY AWAY. He said that living there was miserable, the maintenance was unresponsive and confirmed that the management was incompetent. ZERO STARS!! Dont even waste your time visiting.
Courtney’s is awesome helped me with problems I was having
Dont rent here. The bottom floor is freezing. The Windows are old and they leak cold air. Same with sliding glass door. And... there is dog poop everywhere.
Many of your tenants are having problems with cars being damaged or broken into - you guys need to do something about this.
I went just to ask for information to lease an apartment and the woman there the leasing agent was incredibly rude and she did not even gave me information at all she just said -we have a 30 day notice so come back 30 days before the move in date- we could not even take a sit ! she was awful person she should not be the first person who you talk to in the apartment complex I will not go back.
