Really would have loved to try to live here, but I have called at least six times this week and have not had anyone pick up once. I have left voice mails that have not been returned. I tried to use the online request, but the email I got when using the online request read “I have an amazing XX-bedroom available for move in on XX/XX… please contact ” so good luck getting in touch with anyone. If they don’t return voicemails for people willing to spend thousands of dollars, I’m certain that contacting them for maintenance once you’ve already signed a contract is a nightmare.
Carriage Place has the best management hands down. Leah from the leasing office and Erin from maintenance have been so helpful in the last few weeks alone. Ive leased in the DTC before, and although all the apartments look nice- it doesnt matter if nothing works or will get fixed. The place is fantastic, and they keep it that way. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking in the area, its easily the best place to live.
I have had an excellent experience with Carriage Place. Great apartments, beautiful property. Dana with the leasing office has been great to work with. Highly recommend Carriage Place!
Excellent from day number 1 I felt at home, they are all extraordinary workers they helped me to have the apartment of my dreams Each of the workers took the patience to explain me even in Spanish (which is very important) and they did not neglect a single detail
We’ve lived at Carriage Place for several years. Since the new management company took over it’s really gone down hill. They’ve had a lot of turnover in the office and they seem to be super lazy. They never answer the phone. They never follow through with anything. We’ve had open maintenance items for MONTHS!! The landscaping is in desperate need of work. They just leave dead trees and bushes everywhere. The worst part is safety issues. They have so many burned out lights and don’t seem to care. My friend fell and got hurt because it was pitch dark going town the sidewalk to her car…they didn’t care. We’re trying to take our dog out in the dark and it’s so dangerous. Why is so hard to fix the lights?? We were told it was a “capital project” and management is looking into. You better hope you don’t get sued before they get fixed. Pure laziness!! We’re paying plenty and should have these items repaired.
Please read this before even trying to schedule a tour to check this property.I’ve lived at Carriage Place for two years. It went down the hill since the new management company took over. The best thing about this property is the location if you work In DTC but you can find many other nice apartments in DTC.>>> Issues with apartmentThe worst part is safety issues because there are so many burned out lights and no one seems to care. You can hear the neighbors through the super thin walls and the apartment has poor insulation and you should expect huge electricity bill at the end of the month.>>> maintenance and asking me to remove my Google reviewThey have new staff and maintenance crew every few months. Don’t expect someone answer you call or emails. I had multiple maintenance issues (dish washer and washer dryer were not working properly and had ruined so many of my clothes and the HVAC system was making too much noise that no one could rest at home) and they were keep telling me it is not an urgent request. I ended up complaining to the property management and writing a review in Google. They called me as soon as I published my review, and I was told that they will replace the dish washer if I remove my review!!>>>> Moving out! (Forget about your deposit and be expected to be charged for many items)They charge for professional cleaning even if you clean the apartment before moving out! They require a professional cleaning receipt, or they will charge you even if you clean the apartment for hours! There is nothing about it in the lease agreement and they make the pandemic as an excuseBe expected to be charged for other stuff. You will be charged 25 dollars for trash valet, and they don’t pick up a light broken chair from outside the apartment! The property manager charged 100 dollars to remove it after I have move out.
Maintenance is great! The apartments are old and of course things happen. Ronald is very professional and the maintenance team completes request in a timely manner. They are awesome. I am just now waiting on my creeky tub to be fixed over a year. They say it is in process (we will see). This place has so much potential. It is spring and it would be nice to see new mulch, dead plants removed and flowers around the community. I am wondering why so many street lights are out. I have picked up trash and witnessed drug use in cars next to my apartment because the coves are so dark. In addition, I recommend getting a Ring doorbell, packages and items have been stolen from my doorstep. Yes I pay over 1800 a month to live in a community that I just described.. I just wish the management team would send monthly newsletters that communicates what is happening in the community. Finally, there has been someone who answers emails and phone calls. That was missing for a while. I have been a resident over a year and my rent increased. I do feel it is my obligation to notify management about issues. I pay a lot of money for a one bedroom, so I will make sure I live in nice community.
It is now 1:30 in the afternoon, and still the sidewalks have not bee cleaned? I have seen only 3 maintenance guys working a 200 unit complex, can someone tell how that makes any sense?I would highly recommend you do your research before looking at moving here. Oh that’s right, let’s blame it on COVID...The lack of management says it all...
Do not recommend living here management is horrible and they dont change the carpets before you move in so they are covered with stains and weird smells.
The problem that was encountered is: there are not clearly assigned parking spaces for disabled persons. I witnessed how a woman mistreated a gentleman who had displayed a blue disabled card/permanently disabled. He needed the space (both arrived at the same time to the location), she identified herself as the manager, whom was a resident in this apartment complex; but, she had not disabled card, and parked in that only space available, she refused to let him access the space, and she was loud. He walked away from her, few seconds later she continued using vulgar language, while finally drove away. And, why...?the very next morning, after I wrote this review, the gentleman’s windshield of his vehicle was cracked (was this an unfortunate coincidence?).
Im a former resident here and had no issues when I lived here, but I am now getting email and text notifications that I have a package, even though I have canceled my parcel pending account. This has happened once before right after I moved out, but still lived in the general area, I went and got the package on that previous time only to find it was someone with a somewhat similar name (Cindy H or something like that). I tried calling to see if they could check the package to verify if it was in fact mine or maybe one of their residents. The only solution they offered was to make an appointment and get the package myself, or ignore the messages. I dont live in the area anymore so making an appointment myself isnt an option. They were fairly rude and talked over me, but were too busy to look at the package to see who it was addressed to. I havent lived there in 4 years and am not expecting or missing any packages, so I feel sorry for whoevers package it actually is, it will likely sit for another week and then get returned to the sender.
Great apartment community. Has many cozy and convenient floor plans, from studios to 2 bedroom apartments and they all include a garage with rent price. Location is amazing and right amount of city and green spaces. Traffic is not a problem and most important the whole team is super professional, friendly, welcoming and go above and beyond of one’s expectations.
Terrible customer service. We tried calling multiple times to set an appointment and no answer. So we decided to show up in person. We arrived at 4pm on 12/28. The lady inside the office did not open the door even though they close at 6pm. She was talking at us from behind the door like we are dogs or something and saying we have to make an appointment, we told her we tried calling but got no answer. We asked if we can book an appointment for a later date on the spot, she said no we have to call. We explained again that we tried calling multiple times and no answer. She said to keep trying. She was unnecessarily rude.If you can’t fill vacant apartments, it’s because of her. We loved the complex from the pictures we saw online and were willing to sign on the spot. We are not coming back.
Incompetent management. New manager Napoleon (who just hung up on me for asking about a revised balance) seems to be even less competent than previous staff. Tiera is the only person worth dealing with at this location. We have had issues with every facet of residency. Months with a leaking ceiling that cause a huge hole that wasn’t repaired until we left. New property company are literal thieves. This property has slid so far downhill in the past three years, and is only continuing to slide further. I wouldn’t sign my worst enemy up to live here. To those who do reside here, good luck. I hope your experience is better than the 3 years i spent here. After nothing was done when i received death threats for asking my neighbor to turn down his music at 2am on a Monday, we decided to leave. Was even willing to pay for a months rent in which we did not live there. This place is awful.Again, shout out to you Tiera. You are awesome!
Carriage Place has been a disaster since the acquisition of the property by Lincoln Properties. It is poorly maintained, the property managers refuse to return any calls and never answer the phone and the little communication they do provide is poorly written, seldom courteous and almost always comes from a Do Not Reply email address. It says a lot about how much they value a partnership with residents. I loved this place prior to the ownership change and shared that often both internally and with management. You can imagine what I am saying now.
I loved calling Carriage Place my home! The staff was very professional and always willing to help the residents. The property was clean and quiet. Workout facility was amazing, as well as the pools! (there are two!) Th best thing about Carriage Place however is the location. Darcys Bistro is walking distance, right across the street. Many other options for dining and nightlife. There is also a massive park right on DTC Blvd that is also walking distance. Love this place!
Thinking about renting at Carriage Place? I would give a second thought and talk to some of the residents. You pay a lot of money for nothing. If you have a problem they take forever to fix it ( Oh, its the Covids fault).Forget about the cleaning of the snow in front of your building, they plow all the snow right by your garage door. And the list goes on and on....
I moved to Carriage Place in 2013 and feel very much at home here. During the virus, the management kept us updated on hours, closings, mask and distancing requirements, etc. This was all done for our safety and in accordance with Colorados requirements. As restrictions have been lifted, Ive been able to safely and comfortably enjoy using the pool and rec center facilities. It has been my experience that most residents treat their units as their own homes. I love seeing all the plants and flowers my neighbors are displaying with pride on their porches. We can once again enjoy living at CP as we return to our new normal.
Dont let the pictures or past reviews fool you, this is no longer luxury living. Weve lived here for over 2+ years and seen a significant decline in service, increase in rude staff (high turnover), the grounds are not well kept as they once were and weve seen many people move out but no one move in. All started when Lincoln Property Company took over. As long as this continues, I wouldnt recommend living here.
My fiancé and I were highly interested in living here but were treated horribly before even moving forward, can’t even imagine what would happen if we lived here! Terrible communication, disorganized leasing office and most of all lack of ownership overall. Its sad this is the case though, the apartments do look nice from the outside at least.
We have been here 1 1/2 years. Most of the people are very friendly. Office staff and Maintenance staff are helpful. Happy to be here. All is good here!!!
We are so happy with our apartment. We moved from Los Angeles, CA last week. The move-in process was easy even though the property management company had changed from when we first looked at the community. The gym is so nice with great equipment and space to workout. The maintenance staff is super friendly and responsive. Thanks to Lucretia and Joe in the Leasing Office everything is going smoothly!
Once an amazing property under past Simpson management is no longer! There is debris everywhere on the property from them cutting the landscapers budget in half, property/office management is rude and Maint. staff quits over the rude management. Lincoln seems to care about nothing beyond you paying your rent, they do the bare minimums on the property and after only 1 short year of Lincolns control, it looks totally different.
Moved in a few weeks ago. The first unit had some issues that couldn’t easily be corrected. Management quickly resolved the issues, and I’m completely satisfied. I absolutely love my new hone!
The location is great and there is a park across the street which is nice. But they advertise that these are “luxury apartments.” These are far from luxury. That word is being misused in an extreme way. The service from management and the quality of workmanship is below other places I’ve lived. My neighbors who have lived here for awhile have been complaining that the new property management is doing a horrible job compared to when they had first moved in. The property management hires the cheapest work they can find in order to make more money. We pay really good money to live here and the representation of that money makes us, as well as other tenants, feel taken advantage of.If you are looking to move here, speak with a handful of the existing tenants and ask how they feel this place has been operating over the last year. Because when I ask, the response is disappointing. Be careful of misleading advertisement.
We had a very bad experience with management. Manager is so rude.
During these difficult times it is so very important to have a sanctuary, a safe place, and Carriage Place is mine. Not only do I love my apartment but staff always go the extra mile for their residents. Staff are professional and courteous. During COVID they send weekly updates, answer question and provide lots of little extras that make staying home more bearable, weekly food trucks, specials on virtual trainings, etc..Thank you all!
I am writing an update to my review below on Carriage Place. I just want to warn others. After they couldnt get our dishwasher fixed along with other issues, the office manager offered to let us out of our lease. She said that she is trying to fix all of their management and maintenance issues, and there was no way that she was going to be able to make us happy in the timeframe we had left. This was unfortunate, but we were happy for the offer. We did our move-out inspection with Katelyn, and she said the apartment was pristine. We even had our carpets professionally cleaned and we were only there for 7 months. We signed the move-out sheet that said all was OK, and Katelyn said we would be getting our deposits back. Now we are in the middle of a dispute with them because they are charging us $1700 to replace all of the carpeting. They took our deposits and are threatening us, that if we dont pay the remaining $1000, they will go after us and ruin our credit. PLEASE READ all of the other Google reviews on this place so you can make an educated decision before signing a lease. _________________________________________________________________I am writing this review for prospective residents of Carriage Place to help you avoid the experiences that my husband and I have had. First, the apartment was extremely filthy when we moved in. I complained to the manager at the time & she said that there isn’t anything that they can do about old living areas. My husband was told that there wasn’t a cleaning crew to work on our apartment before we moved in because our lease date was right after Thanksgiving. So we proceeded to clean the apartment ourselves. I complained to the new manager (who also quit) when I took pictures of the black scum I was cleaning from the tubs. There are holes in the backs of our cupboards. The doors were literally falling off of the hinges. The handrail to the first set of stairs was loose and about to fall off. Our dishwasher keeps breaking and not draining the water, which causes our apartment to smell horribly. They promised to replace the dial/timer on the dishwasher about 3 weeks ago, but never came back. We put in another work order over 2 weeks ago and still have heard nothing. The toilet tank downstairs is rusted out. Someone was holding the toilet chain together with a fishing hook that rusted the entire tank. Lastly, if they promise you new appliances, this isnt necessarily true, at least not in the older units. We were told this last summer when we first looked at the property. We still have yet to get new appliances almost a year later. Maybe some apartments have these upgrades, but not all of them are upgraded as promised. If nothing else, take this advice and check everything before you move in!! Look for holes in the walls, including the garage and cupboards. Make sure to add all of this onto your move in checklist to ensure you are not held responsible for the apartment’s condition. This is only advise that I wish I would have known before moving in.
This apartment complex just got new management and my experience with them has been exceptional. Joe, the new manager, handled a stressful conflict with kindness and respect. He was an excellent listener and a consummate professional. I would definitely recommend carriage place to anyone.
I had an issue with one of my appliances recently and so I completed a service request on the CP Residents Portal. Within an hour, I received a confirmation that the request had been received and by that afternoon, I received a notice that the issue had been resolved - I was at work so I was unable to physically witness the process. Now thats what I call pretty incredible service!
I love living here, so far everything is wonderful. The community is a fun place to live, and there is a ton of fun places to eat and drink at within walking distance. The office staff ( Lisa and Jillian especially) are so friendly and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend living here.A new company has taken over since weve moved in and the new staff has been great. Joe and Chloe in the leasing office are wonderful to work with and Rob the repair technician is awesome.
New management working on upgrades to the complex and it shows! So refreshing to be able to talk to management with common sense approach to business. They have been flexible in understanding personal needs and circumstances changing. I would definitely recommend talking with them. Todd
I transferred here from Hartley Flats downtown. I liked living here here. I have now moved in order to be closer to work, but would still recommend the place. Its quiet and conveniently located (given that you dont mind living in DTC) and the office staff have all been super nice.I cant speak for how this place looked when it was built, but it appears that they refinished the apartments and they really look quite nice. The walls between apartments are maybe a little less insulated than I would like, but I would say that about pretty much every apartment which I have ever lived in, so I guess if you want absolute privacy then you pretty much need to live in a free standing house. The price to rent here fluctuates on an almost daily basis, so depending on the season and number of renters etc your price can change by a fairly significant amount. I checked the prices daily and ended up saving about $200/month by waiting to rent till it was later in the season. Im currently paying only a few hundred dollars more per month for a 2BR 2.5 bath towhnouse than I used to pay for a 1BR apartment downtown. Obviously thats a very different location, but I still feel like what Im paying is pretty reasonable - Im sure that will change when my lease is up though. On the whole from what I can tell the majority of complaints about this place are either a) from when they had a different management company b) from before they renovated or c) all of the above. I like this place and would definitely recommend it.Also, having now moved out I will say that I the move out charges were pretty reasonable - I was concerned given the number of reviews which mentioned being overcharged but - at least for me - this was not the case.
Love the community and apartment homes here at Carriage Place. It’s a great place to call home. Centrally located to all the great venues in beautiful Denver.
I have lived at Carriage Place for almost 4 years and it is a great place to call home. The community is extremely beautiful, well landscaped and peaceful. The town home style apartments with private entrances and attached garages make it feel like your very own.It could not be better located. For the quiet, suburban location, Carriage Place is so close to everything you need! I joke that I dont ever leave the 4 block radius. Conveniently located to the grocery store and walk-able to many bars and restaurants and the park. I even walk to the nail salon and bank! The newly renovated amenities are all you need. Ive cancelled my gym membership because the machines offered at the community are top of the line. The office staff in place now is always helpful and excellent at communicating. Lisa and Mindy are so friendly and remember everyone (and even the dogs too)! Theyre always doing fun things like a monthly bark box giveaway to the neighborhood pups. Or community garage sales and happy hours. A few years ago, the response rate wasnt always as quick with maintenance requests but they have since then corrected that. Most recently, I put in a request and the issue was fixed within a matter of hours on a Sunday. Cant ask for anything better!I have loved my time here and will always recommend it to others.
Honestly we had a wonderful experience here. We did a short term lease while we were shopping for a house down south. My wife was 8 mo. pregnant and we have a little one under 2yr old while we lived here. The park across DTC blvd and the bike paths nearby are awesome. The team in the leasing office was always super friendly and helpful. The new gym is a must see. Thanks, guys.
I am a current resident and have been living here for 6 months, overall I would say that this is a good apartment. I feel bad for the people that have had such negative experiences, specifically with the leasing office staff, my fiancé and our roommates have been working with Mindy since we first toured the Carriage Place Apartments and she is simply wonderful. Overall the apartments are nice, they have attached garages, and they look nice due to recent updates. When we have had an issue or a question Mindy is friendly and quick with a response and a helping hand.I will say that, like most places, not everything is perfect which is why I am taking away one star. The biggest issue that we’ve had are the inconsistencies of the heating and cooling of the apartment, our lower level is freezing unless we have the living room fireplace running constantly, but our upstairs will be unbearably hot - save for the smaller bedroom over the garage which was cold enough to warrant it’s own space heater. The windows and doors don’t seem to have been sealed properly or be of the highest quality. But if you don’t mind using an old towel, or a cute draft stopper, it isn’t a giant issue. The only other issue that we’ve run into during our time here, is the parking. This is more of an annoyance than anything else, but there is very little parking and if you’re getting home after work anytime after about 1pm-2pm, your chances of parking in a designated parking spot are very slim. If you do find yourself a rare open spot, you’ll run into the issue of boneheads that weren’t taught how to park between the lines; although that says more about the individuals rather than the management and the apartment complex themselves.Overall, I would say that, from our experience, if you’re looking for a nice, homey, townhouse-style apartment that’s close to everything, this just might be the place for you! The proximity to a multitude of schools, restaurants, entertainment, and highways as well as the usually friendly staff and the extreme bonus of an attached garage are a testimony to this great place to live.
Great location close to one of best malls in the area, great restaurants of every type and price range and great access to two key freeways (25 and 225). The best staff.
My boyfriend and I had a very pleasant experience at Carriage Place - Weve lived here for 2 years and are only moving out next month because I purchased a house. I would recommend Carriage Place to my friends and family. The leasing agents, especially Katie have always been helpful and available to address any of our questions/concerns. The complex is well maintained and the few maintenance requests we had were handled promptly and correctly.
My spouse and I were turned away twice when asked if we could see an apartment. The first time we arrived and I didnt have my license since I left my wallet at home. Ill admit that was my fault, but we were told to come back with no other specific information given. The next day, we arrived at the exact same time (4:30) and the regional representative told me that the office quits showing apartments at 4:45. Nobody else in the office was waiting to see an apartment. I was then told they didnt want to leave the office since rent was due. Well, its the last day of February and the office is open until 6:00. Tenants could pay rent online, drop it in the after hours box (If they have one), wait until she was done showing us the apartment since again, the office was open until 6:00, or come back tomorrow. I dont believe it would have taken 1.5 hours to show us an apartment. I also believe that arriving at 4:30 is not the same as arriving at 4:45 or later and was a fair enough time to show us an apartment since she already knew what type we wanted to see because we were there the day before. There was plenty of time to show us an apartment, but for some reason this complex did not want to show us anything. Maybe because we are gay? All I know is that we tried two times to see an apartment at this complex and both times we were denied. I was asked if we could come back on Saturday, but while browsing her calendar, no times were mentioned and it was four days after we originally stopped by to tour the complex. This was our first choice since my office is directly across the street and located in the same building as Simpson Housing. Maybe Ill have better luck dealing with the owners directly and hopefully they can recommend a better apartment community. Oh well, time to find another first choice. All I can say is that if you cant even get someone to show you an apartment, can you imagine how the customer service is after you move in? I would look elsewhere.
Ive lived here almost a year and they are extremely nice! I did have a mouse problem but they were really great about getting in there and taking care of the issue. The only reason I took one star off is the parking isnt great for guests but other than that the apartment is nice and updated and the staff is professional and caring! Also they have community happy hour which is great for someone new to the area....Oh and I have a neighbor who got locked out after hours and the maintenance guy went out of his way to rush to her rescue immediately plus he arrived with a smile on his face...very nice and very appreciated! Thanks for your hard work!
I loved the place, everyone who lives in the community are all friendly. Even the staffs from the office to maintenance ... Ashley, Brittany, Candace and Katie theyre so helpful and they find ways how to help you. It seems like that they dont/stop their break just to know if youre okay or if you need something else/help. Keep it up guys. And, thank you so much. One day this community will grow more coz they deserve it.
Beautiful apartment complex with nicely maintained pools and gym. Staff is friendly and managers are very professional.
I came to Carriage Place after living in another DTC property for 4 year, while only being here a few weeks, I can immediately see a vast difference in the way the overall property is cared for. I am enjoying my experience here so far and hope for that to only get better!
This place has amazing custome service. I was looking for an apartment for next spring and did a tour with Jillian. She was so helpful with all of my questions. Everyome in the office was so kind and greeted me with a smile. I will definitely be coming back here to lease when it is time to move. These apartments are so nice and feel more like a home than an apartment. I wold highly recommend go checking out these apartments if you are looking for a place to live.
Really love living here -- friendly staff, comfortable apartments, and reasonable prices considering you have your own garage and all the apartments have been newly remodeled as they come up for rent. I also love my little patio and all the natural light that comes in through there. Plus, our particular unit has a fireplace in the living room AND master bedroom! We also have two full baths and a build-in desk area. Couldnt be happier!
This is absolutely an overpriced complex with a staff of clueless individuals that have moved their offices so much, they couldn’t even keep track of my paperwork. I completed a 6 month lease, had already lived there for 2 years and paid $1700-$1800 faithfully. I only needed an additional 6 month lease because I was in the process of buying a home. I moved out when I closed on my new home but still continued the pay the last two months of my lease, in order to fulfill my obligation. When I contacted the leasing office to return my keys, card reader, garage door opener and mail key, the woman in the leasing office said she could not find paperwork showing I would be vacating the apartment. I completed all of my paperwork and the fact that you can’t find my lease and notice to vacate is not my fault. Your staff is constantly changing and you guys have moved several times since I’ve live at the Carriage Place Homes. The lady that took my paperwork doesn’t work there anymore and the leasing staff claim they have no idea who I was working with. The lease Manager was insensitive and rude and basically told me “too bad, we can’t find your paperwork so you owe for another month!”.The staff is a joke! They expect residents to pay on time and abide by their rules but they can’t keep track of paperwork and expect their customers to pay for their mistakes!Beware!!!!!Sheesh!!!!!🤦🏽♀️
Its very conveniently located near Denver and it has a great Service Manager whose been there for a long time. He really works to ensure that the property is at its highest standard. Hes also a pleasure to work with and takes care of business. I think that Service Managers are the real back bone behind every apartment property and hes amazing!
You were very helpful and accommodating during our tour. The staff was friendly and professional. The gym is very clean. Overall a lot of diversity of floor plans to choose from
This community is nestled in the heart of the Denver Tech Center and gives you the opportunity to live and work in a truly unique place. The home quality is fair... (creaky 2nd story floors and stairs) and the units all have attached garages and a number of the units also have a LOT of storage space which is AMAZING. Once you make it your own, the town-home is very cozy.*** Update***I am increasing the rating to 5 stars... I recently made a request for new carpeting in my living and dining room area and the request was approved and executed on in 3 business days. Lisa, the new Property Manager handled the request and has been a DREAM to work with. My family and I are VERY impressed and happy to call Carriage Place ours.Things to note...1. limited number (1) of ceiling fans.2. limited number of AC vents. (Ive only just recently moved in and havent experienced the full spectrum of the weather but so far so good.3. Great office staff! Mindy, Heidi..... wonderful people to work with.4. Pools, gym, great places to eat near by, and the holiday lighting at night is just wonderful!5. Parks... LOTS OF PARKS in walking distance!
New mgmt leaves a lot to be desired. Lack of attention to detail, property wise. Units need upgraded for the $$$. Last mgmt company was waaaay better....will not renew
STOP! You need to look no further. Wonderful folks talking care of the complex and treating you like a human being. You wont be sorry.
A good area with a homey vibe. Convenient to so many places to eat and access to majors highways to escape to the mountains!
While Carriage Place has nice apartments and that’s how they will get you signed, the management on the property seems to be abysmal. If you care about how you are treated by property management, after you sign a lease, then I’d stay away from Carriage Place. It’s especially important I call out the bad leasing consultants. They have combative attitudes and lack of empathy in my experience with them. They quickly become threatening, and refer you to the manager, who they will not provide contact info for.Bad management decisions do not seem to stop with the hiring of bad leasing consultants. We have been without a gym on property for over a year (we were told months, but forced to use monthly free passes somewhere else), the lack of urgency to fix mailboxes that were broken in to (we went 2 months without mail), the lack of response when you do contact their management team (still haven’t heard back on my last complaint about the combative consultant), and so much more.I’m a patient and forgiving person normally, but it was worth my time to point out the fundamental flaws with living in this complex. You’ve been warned!!- a normally happy person
Pretty nice community. I wish they had more dog clean up stations, thicker walls and ceilings, and more parking. You get a lot for the price you pay: oversized tubs, a garage, gas fireplace.
Nice and peaceful place to live. In the one year period never faced any major issues. All minor complaints(issue with sink) were fixed in a day or 2. One of the safest apartment in DTC area. Most staffs in the leasing office truly care for your problem/concern. Its located vey close to 3 complexes and gives us easy access to food/fun. There is wonderful park(Wallace Park) just opposite to the apartment it also has ground workout area, an excellent place to spend evening in summer.Coming to concerns:They were renovating the Gym/Leasing center and gym is closed now for almost 9 months. They do provide 24hr/willpower coupons but there might be delays, depends on your luck. The assistant manager once dropped an email stating there is an un-authorized resident in your apartment. I lived right opposite to the leasing office, but come on that doesnt grant you rights to peek inside my bedroom. I felt she has a big nose and a huge fake smile.Other than these 2 concerns the community is wonderful to live, if your budget suits it ;)They just refunded my advance, not a penny taken :)
Fitness center pooldoesn’t work along with hot tub. Neighbor set up a night club in garage. The leasing consultants are a revolving door. Money was spent on the new leasing center not the apartments. Poorly run. Cheapest interiors.
Buyer beware. These people will do whatever they can to extort money out of you. My office in the DTC closed its doors and I had to relocate. I tried to see if I could sublease which they refused. Even with the 60 days notice it still cost me almost $4000 to break the lease. I tried to work with them and they had a tenant immediately none of that mattered. If there is a chance you will need to move out do not move here. In addition we had several items that needed to be repaired in our home each item took a minimum of a week to be repaired. Mailboxes are frequently broken into and the management has no concern with your security. Speaking of a manager good luck getting to speak with one. I had to camp out in the office to speak to her and when she finally did speak with me she was rude combative and unreasonable. In summary the management is impossible to work with, they will raise your rent every year, you will not get reponsive service, safety is a real issue the amenities like the gym have not been available for over a year. 1 Star is too much for this place.
Ive lived here for six months and absolutely love it. The complex has more of a neighborhood feel than a typical apartment complex. Its mostly young professionals or older people who live here, so I never hear people partying or making noise late in to the night as I have at other places Ive lived. The amenities are great and the office staff is so wonderful, friendly and helpful. Its a perfect location with a huge park across the street and bars and restaurants within walking distance, as well as being right next to the highway. The community is very pet friendly. The only problem I have had is that the walls are so thin I can really hear everything my neighbors do, however this has been my experience with every apartment Ive lived in and is unfortunately just indicative of apartment living. The units are expensive, so the price may drive me away when it comes time to renew the lease.
Carriage place is awesome! We are honestly really sad we had to move, but the apartment we wanted was too expensive and we needed 2 bedrooms. This place is in a great location, extremely quiet and convenient with lots of restaurants and beautiful parks nearby.Mindy and Lisa were so friendly and we always felt welcome. From day one Mindy was there with us every step of the way, guiding us as first-time renters. Maintenance was fast and friendly for the few minor things over the last year. The fitness center, leasing office, and pools were all really nice and well-maintained. Valet was a bit inconsistent, sometimes not picking up our trash on scheduled days. The apartment was finished very well with nice countertops, carpeting, paint, doors, and fixtures, albeit some minor issues; The garage door was bent on move-in and continued to bend more with use over time, the water heater was noisy and rumbled after a shower, and the windows/sliding door were very poorly insulated, letting lots of cold air in during the winter. Also, our driveway was at a steep angle, making snow removal difficult and icy conditions very unsafe. I know its not something that can be changed easily, but just a heads-up. Rent price was competitive for one bedroom with garage in this area and community fees were reasonable.Overall, this past year was great experience though. Despite some minor design flaws, it was a great location and amenities, nice apartment, and friendly staff.Thank you Simpson and Carriage Place!
I lived here for almost 2 years and there is no place to park!!!! If you park anywhere they will tow your car and it will cost about $300.00 for you to get it back. Oh and dont think for a second that they would find someone close by. You have to go to Commerce City to get your car back!!! How convenient is that? I guess Carriage Place thinks we can easily get all the way to Commerce City when we get up in the morning and try to use our car to get to work. So, add the cost of getting there to the bill!!! And dont expect them to treat you any better at the towing company than they do at Carriage Place Apartments! Seems like they both went to the same classes on how to treat a customer!!!They have recently created new Fire Lanes for no apparent reason and after almost 2 years of having to park in front of my apartment because my driveway has too much of a hump for me to park in it, they decide to tow my car. Many of the resident parking spaces are taken up by their Dumpsters and Pods for remodeling apartments. So good luck finding a spot for your car and God forbid if you ever have a guest!!! Nothing worse than seeing them get towed and having to pay about $300 to get their car back!Total crap, these people dont care about their residents, its obvious when they do crap like this to you after living there for 2 years!!!Thanks guys! Ill be moving out really soon!!! Have a really bad day!!!
The staff has been nothing shy of amazing. Friendly, prompt and understanding. Plus the floor plans and quality of the apartments are top notch for the price range/area.
Being a resident for a number of years, I must express my profound disappointment with Simpson and Carriage Place. We have been without amenities for more than 12 months. While they have made some exterior improvements with painting, the basics seem to go unanswered. The mail boxes have been broken into on numerous occasions and have yet to have any security measures put in place. The mechanicals, washers/dryers furnaces, hot water heaters and air conditioning units are beyond their useful life span and are not energy efficient. I recently did a energy analysis and found out that I am spending 110% over what others would spend in an apartment this size so I would seriously consider this when choosing to live here. With AUM and Excel my utilities are much more than $200 per month. Simpson spent tons of money renovating the leasing offices and putting the resident gym and pool amenities on hold. To date, there is no workout facility. The rents continue to rise even without the benefit of use of amenities and surveys which have stated the same complaints over the years remain unanswered. This community is centrally located and that has appeal but the rental rates if you actually stay in the community, are escalated every 9 months at your renewal and there is not any incentive to remain a tenant.
I cant speak for the bad reviews below but I lived here recently and I loved it, maybe new management turned things around? The staff was always genuinely friendly and helpful. The amenities were great, nicer gym than most, steam room, decent pools. I moved here from out of state and felt right at home, this place has more of a neighborhood feel than an apartment complex. Even after eventually moving (Due to my work), the move-out process was very easy, I wasnt charged any fees etc.. unlike other complexes Ive seen. Might be a bit pricier than some but I think its worth it given the location. Definitely a nice place to live, tons of things to do within walking/biking distance. No I dont work for them, just noticed the bad reviews from years ago and thought they deserved a good review based on my time there.
I got a survey from these apartments and decided I should post my comments here too. When we moved in, there were very few negative reviews. There is little communication from office staff. Within the last week someone was testing the fire alarms of the apartments, but residents werent told so it was alarming when they went off. We get plenty of notices about trash, but no updates about when amenities will be completed. The fitness center has been under construction since I moved in.They announce new things at happy hours (there have been 3 since I moved in 8 months ago). I have no idea what is being built or changed and when just because I havent been able to attend those. The apartments have some nice finishes, but the walls are paper thin, and we have always heard our neighbors. They arent loud, we can just hear everything and theyve said the same to us. Things are often breaking, and the angular layout of the apartment causes problems. Two people cant walk in a hallway at once and if someone is doing laundry no one can walk by. You cant have two people standing in the kitchen comfortably. The master bedroom door and bathroom door cant be open at the same time. Our Xcel bill is twice what it was at our previous apartment even with 100 square feet less space. When we moved in they kept forgetting parts of the process. I had to visit the office 4-5 times to sign something they forgot or take a photocopy of something. They sent me three different leasing agreements - two with incorrect information. They forgot to do a walkthrough with us and when we finally saw the place I had to make a 2 page list of items to fix or replace. It all got done but took weeks. Ive made 2 other maintenance requests. One was taken care of quickly and the other took 2 weeks to get a response. The finishes are nice. We like having a garage and trash service. The DTC area is perfect for us, but these apartments have been very disappointing.
Please do NOT ignore the other bad reviews you read about this place; a mistake me and my husband did at first! On the day we were scheduled to move-in to Carriage Place, the apartment was dirty, cabinets were broken, appliances damaged and the place looked nothing like the model! What some other reviewers have mentioned goes along with our experience -- you are lured in by the beautiful exterior, the lush landscaping & park across the street, the attached garages and the condominium community look. However, everything else from there on was a disappointment.Their property manager (Michelle) was rude and provided THE WORST customer service experience after we voiced our concerns about the horrendous condition the apartment was in when we walked in on move-in day. All she offered to do to make up for that was to help us move in and to deduct a days worth of rent from our monthly rent. Keep in mind my husband had already taken a day off work, flown in from Texas and rented a U-haul truck just to move our stuff. When he arrived he was obviously upset and had to leave our stuff in the garage because of the gross condition of the apartment. After Michelle continued to treat us poorly and showed no empathy for our time and money lost that day, and the fact that we were unable to move in to apartment until late in the evening, we realized that their piss-poor customer service and lack of integrity was merely a reflection of what living there for a year would be: AWFUL!DO NOT RENT HERE unless you want to be disappointed with the condition of your apartment and have to deal with ill-trained management staff.*P.S.: One of their pools and their only gym are out of order while they do construction on it... So you wont have those amenities available for at least 3 months from now (June 2017).
So far, I have lived in 9 states, and quite a few apartment complexes. Carriage Place is, by far, the best. From the moment I inquired about an apartment, to move-in day, to today, the office staff has been exceptional. I was moving from out of state, and was not able to tour in person, so naturally I wanted to ask a TON of questions. Leasing agent Mindy was amazingly patient with my bombardment of questions and numerous emails. On Move-In, everything went extremely smoothly and left me wondering whats the catch?. I have never had a apartment leasing/move-in experience go this well. After a week or so, I discovered a few very minor issues (leaky toilet valve, garbage disposal noise) and put in a service request. It was handled within 24 hours. The Maintenance personnel were in my apartment for less than 10 minutes and had both issues resolved permanently. FYI, in all the places I have lived, I have never had maintenance people as efficient and through as here. In addition, everyone that works here in whatever role they play seems to have a almost Disney World smile constantly. If you observe the staff and their interactions, you can clearly see that its not fake, and they actually love what they do.Shortly after moving in, my driveway got iced over pretty bad. Now Im not going to blame management for the weather, but I casually mentioned the ice to the office staff when I was in the office picking up some packages. Within a minute of me getting back to my apartment, a maintenance person was out there, and putting down a copious amount of ice melter and shoveling snow away. He even left me a bucket of ice melter. I was floored by this because they already are extremely efficient and responsive to plowing all drive areas when it snows but paying attention to individual resident areas is not something that any other place I have experienced would ever do. Most places it is your area, your responsibility.I have also had packages delivered to my doorstep when I was out of town for a week, and even though UPS had specific instructions to deliver to my parcel locker, they did not. I called the office and mentioned this, and they were able to retrieve my packages and hold them for me in the office. I guran-damn-tee this is not in their job descriptions nor is it in their expectations. They really went above and beyond.I am not even half way through my lease and I already am planning to renew at the end.Building and facility wise, this place is great! My unit is quiet, I do not hear the street, and with the exception of the occasional footsteps from upstairs or dog barking, I hear nothing. Half the time I wonder if I am surrounded by really quiet people and I am the loud one. I have tested the doors and windows with smoke/vapor to see if there are any active leaks or bad weather sealing, and there are none. This place is sealed tight! The garage is super convenient and has plenty of space for a mid-size car plus some storage. I have not noticed any spiders or any other pests inside or outside, or even in the garage. The shared areas (clubhouse area, fitness center, and office area) are always sparkling clean and look brand new. These areas get used but the housekeeper rocks and keeps things in perfect condition.I have walked around the complex and overall this place feels very safe and comfortable. The mailbox area is well lit and at no time have I felt like I was unsafe. Even being in the middle of DTC, there is not a lot of noise. Road noise is virtually non-existant during non peak hours. As far as what is close by? Everything. DTC is close to everything. On the Simpson Properties Group website, it is stated Complete resident satisfaction is our benchmark, surpassing expectations is our goal.. With the current management and staff, this is being met fully from my perspective. Thanks yall, keep it up!TL;DR - This place is great, rockstar staff, close to everything, if you are looking for a place just stop and live here.
I have lived on this property for over 3 years, I would never recommend this to anyone, even if its someone I hate. To be fair the units look good, very cheap remodeling though, They are the worse when it comes to maintenance, The management and maintenance have been getting worse every month probably, I was forced to change units so they upgrade my old unit and the new one has and had a lot of issue that they cant or wont fix, my toilet was leaking for 3 month until they figured out a way to fix it because they wouldnt change it. If anything needs to be replaced it takes more than a month if you are lucky enough to get it replaced. They never stick to any schedule weather its them announcing it or if its something you are requesting. They closed the fitness center to renovate it and promised gym passes and they were never available for a few month and after 30 days when the pass expired they didnt have them for 2 month. They are allowed to be late but you arent after 40 month of paying rent on time I was late for less than 24 hours to turn in a check and they charged me a 10% fee, I wouldnt mind it if the service was worth itI hate moving and travel a lot would never want to see anyone suffer from living here..........If you have more than one or 2 cars get ready to suffer and tell your guests to find somewhere else to park ...
They have no respect for their tenants or neighbors. They have signed a contract with a valet waste management company to compact the trash at night. They do not allow it during the day. This makes no sense. While people are away from home, working, they do not want to be compacting the trash. Instead, the waste management company comes at 9:30 p.m. at night and is sometimes there until after 12 a.m. Realize, compacting trash, means extremely loud noise, slamming, bottles being smashed, etc., so if you happen to have an apartment next to this machine, you are woken up and kept awake, your studies are interrupted, your peace is disturbed. Mind you, the legal noise ordinance is 10 p.m., so they are breaking the law every time they are there past 10 p.m. Besides the law, it is simply incredibly disrespectful to do this in the evening hours when tenants and neighbors are trying to rest after a long day at work. Even if the law is 10 p.m., this is something that should be done during the day, before dinner, as to not disturb the peace. Simple common respect goes a long way. For as much as Carriage Place charges their tenants, surely they can find a way to get this completed during the day. The third party contractor that Carriage Place hired, says it is Carriage Places contract, contact them. They are the ones that want it this late. They refuse to stop, even though they are breaking the noise ordinance law. People have children, school, work, and they are simply disrespectful. I have been told they have been contacted and have chosen to do nothing about it.
Very nice, little slow to respond on maintenance, but very friendly group of people. You feel like you are apart of a community.
Carriage place is ran by the most incompetent clueless people in the world. They fraudulently offer apartments without properly disclosing all ownership disclosures and forget to mention major construction beginning 14 days after moving in. Their windows allowed massive water flooding into my apartment and they wouldnt even move their ass to fix my home! I put them on notice and moved out. AVOID THIS PLACE! YOU WILL REGRET DEALING WITH THESE IDIOTS! DO NOT DISREGARD ALL THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS.
Stay away if you have more than 1 car. I have a one car garage and 2 cars. Although more than one car is allowed you can can not park on the property more than a few days without threats. I made a big mistake,
Maintenance response to request is unbelievably slow. Dont expect work orders to be addressed in a timely fashion if at all. Community is not quiet as you have to listen to maintenance from 7am-7pm go back and forth in their gator . The noise is beyond obnoxious, so dont expect to have your windows open ever. Units are outdated and old, but rent is very high.
Officce staff are very nice but they can be a little slow with non-emergency repairs
If you need something need to fixed it took forever and most of the time they disregard. And most of the staff are clueless .I’m very very disappointed with this place. Please don’t ignore bad comments in this place . Maybe you end up living here and you regret later.
Please open pool by gym
This Place is HORRIBLE!!!! DO NOT RENT HERE. The Rent is way overpriced, the mamagement is rude and unwilling to work with you, even when they have caused the problems, everything breaks or does not work, I hade to call them for four days to come fix my furnice when the temperatures were below zero, pipes froze, lots of spiders that they refuse to spray for. The walls are paper thin, I could hear my neighbor above me pee! When I moved in the apartment was very dirty, the carpet had stains all over it and they refused to do anything about it. I had a sink that was leaking when i moved in only to find that it had been leaking for so long that the entire sink was covered in black mold. they took a week to come in and fix it and I had to clean the mold because they refused to do it. The floor plans are cute until you move in and realize that they are the most impractical layouts and nothing fits where it should. Stay away from everyone that works there espically Ann Brewer the property manager, Gretchen Hennisey and Gwendelon. They WILL screw you over.
Worst place ever to live. No insulation, I paid 200 a month just for ELECTRICITY!! EVEN IN THE WINTER!! When i ask them to caulk the sliding doors cuz all the cold air was streaming in, they completely ignored my request. When I moved they charged $90 for a late fee on trash when I had paid all my bills on time. They suck!! DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!! THE STAFF IS INCOMPETENT AND THEY DONT CARE!!
Very nice apartments
