We have been using Horizon services for many years now. They are a step above anyone else in their customer service and expertise. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Today Erick made his first visit with us and he is extremely knowledgeable and professional and made me aware of a couple of services that I did not previously have an interest in. The caring attentiveness of every technician has been outstanding. They do their job quickly and efficiently on a dependable regular schedule and I feel we get great value from Horizon in maintaining our home and also in practical knowledge about how to get the most out of our heating and AC units. I know that the training for every technician is very thorough and is ongoing so I have a lot of confidence in everyone they send.
These folks were great. They got me scheduled very quickly, within a day, whereas other companies were saying it would take 2 weeks to come out. The tech was on time & very professional and easy to talk to. He performed diagnostic tests on my furnace blower and AC unit and identified the issues. I chose to do the repair work myself to save on cost, but the tech took the time to answer all my questions and give me tips on how to do the job. He was very informative and very helpful. This company was easy to work with, straight forward, and helpful.
This winter our heater stopped working in the middle of a deep freeze. Our repair guy couldn’t come until Monday so we called Horizon in a pinch. Such a waste of money. All the kid did was give a diagnosis but did nothing to repair and told us we needed a $500 evaluation to know for sure. He acted really nervous when giving his sales pitch to my husband and I. We were disappointed he didn’t get the heating back on with it being about 15 degrees outside. I now know why he was nervous.There was a simple override switch he could have pushed to get the heat on for the night. He knowingly looked at a toddler and pregnant woman and left us in a freezing house for the night.The next day our regular repair man had the heat going in 5 mins!Months later I now know what the Horizon guy did with his time in our utility room. He labeled every pipe and machine with advertising for Horizon. Hot pink labels with “call Horizon” were everywhere. I don’t regularly examine the utility room so it took a while to nice the blatant advertising job. The other day I found yet another sticker on the hot water heater.Don’t waste your money paying them to advertise in your own home, and getting them to just up-sale you a problem that doesn’t exist without fixing the one that does.I would upload photos but as so mad I cut up all the stickers and labels before posting a review
Had a technician come out and diagnose my AC issue. Said bad blower motor for $1700 plus other stuff. Gave a $3700 estimate and itemized list. Didnt seem to add up to me. A blower motor is $150 off the shelf. Called another company. Diagnosed and repaired for $650. Confirmed horizon had misdiagnosed and wanted to charge for made up labor. $3050 difference. Scammers for real!!!
We have used Horizon for at least 4 maintenance/repair visit over the last 3-4 years. Both furnace and AC.In late February, our VERY old furnace went out (the night before a foot + of snow feel on Denver).#1: They were at our door within an hour of our call.We werent surprise to learn that it was time to say goodbye to our 19 year old furnace.#2: They had their quote specialist at our door with in 30 minutes of making the decision to replace and she offered space heaters for us for the night.#3: Furnace replaced the next day with a great crew of guys---not only were they on time but they came 30 minutes EARLY in a foot of snow and helped shovel our sidewalks and driveway before they worked all day at our house. Now we are toasty warm!I see some on reviews mention they may cost a bit more--what is your time, peace of mind, EXCELLENT customer service, and warmth worth?Planning on using them for a BIG AC replacement later this spring.
Easy to get a hold of 24/7 and scheduling appointments is easy and convenient. Technicians are always knowledgeable, considerate and polite.
I have used Horizon before we got our Ac unit installed by them a couple years ago. I absolutely love this company, the techs and the very sweet ladies in the office are amazing. Our heater stopped working overnight and woke up to an icebox of a house with small children. They were able fit me in same day for maintenance. We had been told by a previous company that we had to replace the whole unit. Brad with Horizon was able to replace a piece and do maintenance that fixed the issue. He was very professional, knowledgeable and patient with my 3 month old puppy who kept getting in his way. We plan on replacing the unit eventually but its good to know that our family wont have to suffer the cold winter. We will probably using Horizon again.

Refused to discuss or look at new Heat Pump (Geothermal) unit. Low pressure switch is either bad or unit has a small refrigerant leak. I have pressure switch coming from manufacturer, it’s a $5 dollar part. Owner said he doesn’t work on homeowner provided units. I’m a general contractor and didn’t have a chance to even tell him this. He said he would be happy to replace entire unit... That’s funny ! Funny thing is I have (4) single family homes I’m building in 2021 and my HVAC contractor retired in the past year, I’m looking for a good company to do my work and be responsive. Homeowners beware! Never judge a book by it’s cover, Sir! Big mistake!!!
So far my experience with them has been very good. The have been on time, have explained everything well, and seem to have typical charges for these services. They were recommended to me by a neighbor. I’ve used their services twice and am under contract with them.

He charged $100 to come out and he did nothing to fix the issue and still charged full price for a visit. I watched him though the whole visit and he did not actually do any work except wiggle the wires around. Very disappointed and will not be recommending your company.
Be very careful. They get the second star here because they are well polished, efficient, on time, and highly professional. The gas valve assembly in my furnace was not operating correctly. They were able to pinpoint this a bit. After putting together a quote they determined that I needed to have this assembly replaced as well as the thermostat. They also thought that Furnace manufacturer annual maintenance was necessary to Pick proper filter size for system and select for equipment This charge would have been $198. They wanted to charge $532 to replace the thermostat. The thermostat was about $75 online and I picked up a programmable one at home depot for $26 and installed it myself in about 15 minutes. They wanted to charge $366 to clean the blower wheel. You would think this would be part of the furnace manufacturer annual maintenance. The big one is to replace the gas valve assembly. I bought the part with 2 day shipping for $90 all in. I woke up this morning and the furnace finally kicked on. This was probably from clearing out the gas assembly and the pipes that are connected by tapping on it with a crescent wrench. Now I have a spare part if the part actually fails. All of this together would have been $2383. They also talked about all of these repairs not being warrantied because my furnace was too old(20 years). They proposed an alternative: a completely new system. This would have been around $7000 all in with installation. If you do some research you will find that new furnaces start just over $1000 brand new for base models. With this all said, I would try and find a company other than horizon to do business with.
Our furnace died Feb. 3, at 7:00pm which the night that we got 15 inches of snow and zero degrees during the night. Horizon had installed this furnace 15 years ago so called them at 10:00pm, got their answering service and decided it wasnt an immediate emergency and could wait until the next morning. Horizon called then and had a repair technician at our home at 10:00am. Found the problem and decided the repair cost was to much to put into an old furnace so they arranged to have Carolyn, their sales rep, come to the house in a couple of hours. We listened to her presentation and decided on the new furnace that would be best for us. She was able to work our installation in the very next morning. She also let us use 2 electric heaters to help keep our home somewhat warm until they arrived the next morning. The service techs arrived at 7:30am, put down carpet protection covers, had the old one out and the new one installed by 3:00pm that afternoon. The service was excellent. Horizon was amazing and one of the best in Denver. They are a little more expensive than the local joe but their attention to detail and follow-up is awesome and the little extra cost is well worth it. We love our new Trane furnace. Way to go Horizon!!
Because they can’t service my old boiler, their only option is replacement. When I asked if they could recommend or point me to someone, they flat out refused. That’s poor service.

Called Horizon out after our furnace died on us, they were able to diagnose, repair, and get our system back up and running. They even took the time to help us understand and set up a thermostat schedule based on when we are home. Outstanding service and very knowledgeable crew!
The reason for this review and the two stars is because they quoted me $1,300 for a $131 (retail) generic A/C blower fan motor. Im all for allowing companies to make a reasonable profit, but this was ridiculous. I called in to give them another chance to rebid, and they said their prices were fixed and thats it. For a regular rental house A/C system, they are attempting to really take advantage of people with their A/C out. Beware of price gouging and make sure you compare their bid to others, and double-check the prices on materials specifically.

Keith and Jonathan had looked after my old furnace and a/c for a few years before I had them replace the whole system with hi-efficiently units and added a humidifier and it almost cut my monthly bills in half. It was worth it to keep up the annul maintenance contract that covers Spring and Fall cleaning and tune up, plus they are capable of service/flush my on demand hot water heater and garage door. Always professional, arrive on time or early, and available for emergencies. I would always highly recommend Horizon!
Terrible service once we signed the install order. I asked for a itemized bill and they wont provide that either. Now have an issue with the unit and they wont help with that and have passed it on to Trane - they wont even provide any phone number to help with that either. NEVER USE THEM - there are far better vendors out that that want your business.

Buyer Beware. This company is disreputable and will absolutely price gouge you. I contacted them for routine maintenance on my HVAC system in my 600 SQFT Condo. They told me that the entire HVAC unit would need replacing, and they quoted me $15,000-$20,000. Reasons cited were low Freon levels, internal rust to the system, and a failed stop-safe mechanism.Some of you might be unfamiliar with HVAC systems, as I was, but that price is absolutely absurd. Initially I had sticker shock, but I was not schooled enough on HVAC systems to know if their price was fair. I did my own research and found out that a unit for a 600 SQFT apartment should cost ~$3000-6000 with labor. I called Horizon back and told them about my research, and they immediately started making excuses about their prices, trying to justify it with professionalism, high quality, and precision measurement (lol $10,000 for a tape measure).Fair enough, but when Im spending $15,000, I like to know exactly what Im buying. I asked for a detailed breakdown of labor costs, parts, etc. so that I could see what I was paying for, and they said oh, yeah, we dont do that. How ridiculous! Imagine going to a grocery store, not knowing what youre buying, and not being able to get an itemized receipt.I got a second quote from another contractor. They told me that my Freon levels are exactly where they should be, that internal rust happens normally and can be cleared out, and showed me that my stop-safe was working by demo-ing it.I asked the second HVAC professional what he would charge if I needed the entire unit replaced (which he advised against), and he said it would cost no more than $6000, and thats if I let him have free reign to put in a state-of-the-art unit.Again, buyer beware. The folks they sent out were very nice and professional, but this company is predatory and looking to take advantage of inexperienced homeowners and people without HVAC knowledge. They should be ashamed.
Ive been glad to be a customer of Horizon since December 2010, when I noticed a leak in my water heater. Ive been on their monthly maintenance plan ever since--they proactively contact me twice a year for my AC and heater checks before the summer and winter. The technicians are always pleasant and professional, and they are careful in my home--always putting covers on their shoes each time they are in my home. I also enjoy working with the office team who help me quickly, efficiently, and plesantly.
This was a rather interesting experience. I had non-emergent issues with my boiler. The guys came out, and recommended a maintenance service so they could, “go through everything and find the problem.” I hadnt had it done, so I agreed. It became clear that my unit was being used as a training exercise for a new guy. When they were done, I was assured that the leaking gauge was just a temporary fluke, the parts expand and it’s not leaking now. Weird. On top of it, they charged the expensive trip fee even though they had done a service. Better businesses dont do that, in my experience, but I’ll take the blame for not asking in advance. If I had, I’d probably have sent them away without doing any work. I started the boiler the next day, and of course it started leaking again. I called to complain, and they told me it was tough luck about the trip charge but they would generously waive the next one if they came back out again because of an issue with their work. I wasnt going back for a second burn, and I paid another company to do my repair. Caveat emptor!
Keith was in communication before his arrival. As always, all techs have clean uniforms, shoe covers - very professional. Keith even asked me - I will be going in and out a few times - would you like me to knock or just come and go as needed? NICE! He spent some time after service to go over our system, its age, maintenance options, etc. NO PRESSURE - just giving me information. Now I have some items on MY radar for future decisonmaking! When our furnace went out, we called 10 different companies and Horizon was the only one who came out same day! They had scheduled our appointment for the day after, but had a cancellation and fit us in within a few hours. Their Tech, David, came out. He was running behind due to traffic but called every so often to keep us updated. He was so friendly, and didnt make me feel ignorant when I was trying to describe our issues. It turned out that our Thermostat had died. He helped us wire in a new one, and we were back to warmth! I cant say enough about how great he was, as well as the company. :).

David, Jonathan, and Carolyn were great to work with. All were very professional, arrived on time, and didnt leave until all my questions were answered. I hope they gave me a competitive price on my new furnace and water heater and plan to call in the future for my annual maintenance inspections.
I contacted Horizon on a Saturday afternoon after our AC went out. They offered to have someone come at 11 am the next day (Sunday) for no extra trip charge than they charge during the week. I met a technician who arrived at 11 on the dot the next day. He determined that we needed a new AC and furnace since this until was 16 yrs old and the coolant wasnt made any longer. He called a coworker who does estimates and gave her some information about the unit. Even though it was Sunday, and her day off, she offered to come out and measure. We were given 3 options and scheduled the installation for 4 days later. Three professional, articulate, smiling employees arrived at 7:30 am, put on shoe covers and began covering the carpeting where they were going to be working. At 3:30 I got a call that they were finished and they showed me what they had done, how to work the thermostat and they cleaned the whole area and even replaced a vent cover that was missing screws and had fallen down some time ago. They handle the paper work for the $500 Xcel rebate and mail it for you. As they were leaving I heard one guy say to the other, Great job today which told me a lot about their culture. Horizon understands customer service, knows what they are doing technically and hires and trains happy, professional employees. Horizon exceeded my expectations from the first call until they made arrangements for the inspection. I would use Horizon again in a heartbeat.
Horizon Services personnel are well trained and thorough in their work. I find this company reliable and efficient, good communication and complete explanations about the work that was done. I believe the rates are competitive. Horizon services my furnace, water heater and air conditioner. There are other services available which I have not used.

Ben & Jonathan performed semi-annual checkup on the system this morning. As my experience always has been with Horizon, they were extremely courteous and professional. I would highly recommend Horizon to others.
1) When I called I indicated that the house had an older furnace, 20yo approximately. Asked if they would recommend replacement over repair. They indicated that if furnace was in good repair, they would repair. I authorized service visit based on this.2) Tech arrived at house. Nearly turned out.3) Incorrectly identified fault as it later turned out, BUT when I asked about repair he indicated that they will not repair any older furnaces and would replace furnace only. This was seemingly in contradiction to point 1. When I questioned tech he indicated that this was their policy. He said older furnaces were inherently unsafe but could not explain even in general why4) Waste of service fee. Furthermore after some youtube videos and a multimeter it was apparently he really didnt know how to troubleshoot the issues.5) Following this experience, I felt that they were only interested in the possible sell of a replacement furnace and not in troubleshooting or repairing the existing unit.

I had Horizon Services install a new central A/C unit for me in a new home. Good customer service is very important to me and Horizon did not disappoint. My interactions with the office staff, sales and installation personnel were all courteous and professional.

Ive used Horizon Services every year since we bought our home in 2013, initially for a furnace repair and then for ongoing annual maintenance and inspection. The techs are always very knowledgeable, and I appreciate that. Sometimes, they have suggested minor improvements, explained in a straight-forward way with the expertise to back it up, but the techs are never pushy and I dont feel like I am being upsold or fearmongered. This year, our tech was David, and as expected he was professional, polite, and respectful of our home and our pets. After he completed his inspection we talked about his findings and the performance of my furnace; Davids honesty and proficiency left me at ease and with peace of mind about the function and performance of our furnace for the coming winter.

Predatory pricing: Read the reviews from Horizons other location on W. Thomas Ave. to see other customers who experienced similar scams. Horizon came out and its tech told my wife that the capacitor had gone out, causing the compressor to go as well. Since they don’t repair parts on R22 units, the tech claimed we would have to purchase a new AC . . . cool. The tech sent out a salesperson for the new AC unit a few days later and the scam escalated--she said I also needed to replace the furnace because my current blower was incompatible. If I was getting everything replaced, which I plan to do eventually, I wanted it done right, so I had a lot of questions and requests. The responses I got were incoherent garbage from a trained scam artist. I am an engineer and was shocked by the salespersons claims regarding the superiority of their systems while she was unable to explain basic aspects of their design and function. The verbal quote she gave me for the AC and furnace replacement in my less than 2,000 square foot house was ~$16-18k. In the end, Horizon realized I was not going to be scammed by them and called me back to say they did not see us as a fit. A few days later, Northglenn HVAC came out and fixed my system for $167. There was no need for a new AC at all; we just needed a new capacitor and it was good to go. It’s been running smooth keeping the $15,833+ I saved cool ever since. Get multiple quotes but don’t let one of them be from Horizon.

Horizon Services has been my go to HVAC company. I’ve used since my system was install poorly by another company. Horizon came in and fixed the issues(the other company couldn’t fix) and got my system running correctly.

Horizon installed both my boiler and hot water heater, but since moved their service area beyond Wheat Ridge to “Denver metro” with no consideration or flexibility for the system they knew the most about, or their previous client. Wheat Ridge IS Denver metro, Im less than 2 miles from downtown. I was dealing with a potential gas leak and the rep wouldn’t even consider servicing my location. Booo thumbs down.

Horizon Services comes to our house, twice yearly, to do a routine maintenance/check up on our furnace. Recently, Reese was here, doing that service for us, and while checking out our furnace, discovered several leaks in our flue. They were in an area that was hidden and not easily seen, so we hadnt noticed them. When he pointed it out to me, I immediately gave my approval to have it all replaced! Thankfully, he did such a thorough and professional job for us as it could have resulted in a carbon monoxide leak in our house with disastrous results!
