I have been a loyal customer at Elder Auto for around 10 years and they have been fantastic to work with up until the past year or two and it’s time to pull the plug.I just called to schedule an appointment and the next available appointment is more than a month away. My vehicle is having coolant issues, which isn’t something I want to wait a month to resolve. Also, if I wanted to get an oil change, it would be the same wait.First off, the appointment availability has been an issue that has progressively gotten worse over the years (prior to COVID) and it’s not getting better.Second, the quality of customer service has gone down as a result and customer loyalty doesn’t appear to matter to them anymore. Take a number and get in line.It’s great that their business has grown over the years and I love seeing local businesses excel, but it is now clear that Elder Auto has been unable to manage their growth.I’m unhappy that I have to leave a negative review for my favorite auto repair business, but this appointment lead-time is unacceptable and they are currently not living up to the numerous positive reviews they have accumulated over the years. I still believe the quality of the auto repair services they provide is top notch, but having to wait a month for any service at all isn’t worth it.If anyone from Elder Auto sees this, you should really focus on eradicating this issue because it’s negatively impacting those customers who helped grow your business over the years. I’ve positively advocated your business over the years, but for now, my message will be negative.

These guys are fantastic. I completely trust them with my car and honestly I would not say that about most mechanics Ive been to in my lifetime. My husband is a firm kid and would really rather fix everything himself and he even thinks theyre awesome! Weve had some pretty major repairs needed on our vehicles and theyve been really upfront and helpful. I also feel confident that they wont recommend something that isnt needed or that theyll find a way to do something cheaper if thats what you need

I went into Elder Auto convinced my 10-year old car needed mechanical work on my engine, specifically new belts, and an oil change. Gerard came out to tell me that my belts were fine and did not need to be replaced and that they had looked at my brakes and they were also in good shape. He also said that I had more miles to go before I would need an oil change and that I shouldnt waste my money on an oil change at this time. When I asked what I owed, I was told nothing. Elder Auto is TOTALLY HONEST, and that is most important thing that you can say about any shop.

Cody was incredible. I unfortunately do not have in depth knowledge of cars. He took his tome to go through all of the findings and explained everything in layman’s terms. Everyone in the office was friendly and he made sure that I understood everything my vehicle needed. The wait to get the car in for a check engine light (3 weeks) was the only downer. Tough to have to wait and not drive the car until we could get it looked at. Other than that I trust these guys and don’t want to go anywhere else!The link they send you that goes over all the findings is slick as well!

Great auto shop. My car had some power steering issues right before I had to move. Elder Auto is always very busy, but they were able to make the repairs so I had a working car to move with. These guys are the best! A few years ago I took my truck to another shop because my check engine light was on. That shop told me a needed a list of things fixed on it. It’s was going to be super expensive to fix. I felt uneasy about it to I took it to Elder Auto. They are so honest and told me I didn’t need the list that the other shop gave me fixed. It was a sensor and the gas cap needed to be replaced! I will never take my truck anywhere else and I will wait to get it in if I have too! I recommend them 100%!

Elder Auto is about as ethical of a business (any business) as it gets. They are honest, perform great work, and are friendly on top of all that. They have a really nice vehicle inspection report too which came through as a text message prior to starting any work so we could decide all that we wanted to have done prior to a road trip, plus its a great reference to go back on in the future. I brought in my truck to see if they could figure out an electrical issue when I pull my utility trailer, and also to get oil change and tire rotation. However, after diagnosing everything i asked, they could not reproduce the issue. (neither could I, we decided it may be due to the trailer). However, they did not charge me for anything other than the oil change. They even included the free tire rotation for first time customer. Thank you!

I just trust them. They proved themselves a while back when I took my breaks in to the chain I had originally bought them from to figure out why they were making so much noise. They told me they were worn out and needed to be replaced and tried to charge me 20 bucks to give me this information- I had literally bought them 3 months prior from a different location of this chain. Then a friend recommended Elder Auto - they inspected my breaks and told me they were just the cheaper kind but definitely were reliable. Their advice was to just turn up the music if the noise was bothering me. They charged me nothing to tell me this. Hard to beat honesty.

They found an issue that previous mechanics had not detected, and once repaired -- very affordably -- my car runs like a dream! Not only that, but they informed me of a discount that I was not aware of that gave me an additional 10% off the labor charge. They were very courteous and took the time to explain what needed to be done and what could be done at a later date.

I’ve been to many mechanics in Colorado and I have to honestly say these guys are IT ! I scheduled an appointment a month out but it was well worth it ! My car runs like new again ! Any other mechanic would of charged me double the price for the amount of things these guys worked on. I brought my car in and they next day they had it right back to me ! Elder auto is an amazing garage. Took my truck to another shop due to an oil leak. They claimed to have found a ton of other leaks and wouldnt even verify the leak I took it in for. Elder doesnt play around and try to rip you off like this. They take pictures of all the issues they find and were totally honest with me. Found the problem I brought it in for and fixed it fast. This is how you make a customer happy.

I have found my mechanic. Great communication, easy to work with and I felt like they were honest about what needed to be done and then they helped me prioritize what I should fix first. (Since it’s an older car I may not keep much longer) priced far less then the dealer. Family owned.

I have never trusted a mechanic in my life. I used to take my tacoma into the dealership because I thought at least the work would be done properly even if I have to ridiculously overpay. Turns out, I was wrong about that.I met Cody through mutual friends and he was like, hey: Im your new mechanic. And he wasnt kidding. Ive been coming to Elder for several years now and I would recommend this place to anyone who drives a car. I know, I know. A trustworthy mechanic is a bit of an oxymoron. But Codys expertise and service along with the most competitive pricing out there... jackpot. Dont go anywhere else. Also, they have donuts and an outdoor seating area.

They have saved me thousands of dollars with their integrity alone after I foolishly went to a closer repair shop for a quote and nearly got taken by a dishonest employee. In that experience I got a second opinion from Elder. What I was quoted as a $2000 service at the local repair shop was 100% covered by warranty by Elder Auto. They took care of me at $0 cost. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Ramon, Cody and Angel are the best, and always treat me like family.

I used them for the first time based on the positive reviews and was very impressed! They were fair, fast, and efficient. In addition to brakes and tires, I asked them to take a look at paint that had been scraped on the car to give an estimate on removal, but they removed it for no charge. I will definitely come back next time my car needs something!

Elder Auto has always had honest and reliable work done on the several occasions Ive taken my vehicles there. Bonus: the last visit I had for an oil change, I meant to use an online coupon they had on their website but I forgot when it came time of the service. I noticed on my receipt when I got home that they had applied the coupon with no mention on my end.

Every employee there, from the front desk reps to the owner, makes you feel valued as a customer. The transportation they offer to shuttle you to and from the site is immensely helpful (and the driver, Craig, is just a really nice gentleman!!). Just make sure you pay close attention and locate the Elder Auto sign/driveway near the corner of S. Holly and E.Evans, right next to Bonnie Brae flowers. This will save you the embarrassment that I put on myself the first couple of visits when I pulled into the wrong driveway or zoomed right past it and had to circle the block. :) But, thanks to the way they do business, I continue to come back. Been coming to elder auto for over 3 years now, I have an older 4runner and they never fail to keep it going without destroying my wallet. The front desk crew, Cody Angel and Shaunee, are top notch and I enjoy every experience there. The owner Ramone is so personable and makes everyone feel like family, plus always saves me in a pinch. Literally blessedto have this shop. I drive about 45 minutes to them and havent regretted it once. Older cars come with alot of regular maintenance so a reliable honest shop is key. These are THE guys for all of it.

We were being burned by over priced, replace the whole thing Boulder Mechanic shops, and researched and were delighted to find Elder! Even for the little things, its worth the trip to Elder to get good old fashioned honest car service!

I’ve brought my ‘05 Camry to Elder Auto on three occasions. The first was for a timing belt replacement. They were the only shop that provided me an accurate quote which included the camshaft and crankshaft seals which are recommended at 200k miles. They also quoted the coolant which is something the other shops didn’t quote but sure as hell would’ve remembered to include on the bill. Car was repaired ahead of schedule and they threw in a discount. Next they replaced the power steering fluid and serpentine belt when it was squealing. Repaired ahead of schedule at fair price. Most recently my car was whining so I brought it in unannounced when they were busy and they found the alternator was bad. I expected to have to wait for an appointment but they fixed it same day at a fair price. My car is easy to fix because it’s an old Toyota and parts are always available so I can’t speak for anyone’s experience with newer or European luxury cars. All I know is they’ve been awesome to me and my car.

I just had to share with everyone, that Ramon used to own a business at Florida and Holly back in the 90s - and took care of a fleet of vehicles for the company I worked for. He sold that business - I went on a different career path - and not until last week, 10 years later did I make a call to him and said, I need your help!! I am having a few issues with my 2000 Maxima, 93,000 miles - received several quotes up to $2800 and I need your honest opinion of what I need to get repaired to be safe on the road!What a wonderful feeling to see him again, to see the success of his shop and his team. I gave him copies of the other quotes, so he would be able to compare and see if the work needed to be done. The word, BS was used, as a couple of $500 plus repairs, did not need to be made!! He repaired what was necessary - $500 ticket, and when I can, will get a few of the other issues fixed. I highly recommend that before you spend money from another shop, get a 2nd opinion from Elder Auto! He did not charge me for the quote and did the work in one day! Now thats the American way - Good service, Good price! Thank you guys!!!

Best auto shop I’ve ever been to! Everyone up at Elder Auto is super helpful and very nice. I mainly spoke with Cody the service manager and he was awesome to work with. Very knowledgeable and informative. I would grab a beer with him if I could because he’s an easygoing kinda guy. I went in for a simple problem and they took care of it free of charge as well as giving me an overall checkup and run down of everything that needed attention, and the how urgent each item was to repair. Best service hands down. I will definitely be returning for all of my repairs in the future and will refer everyone I know to them!

I highly recommend this mechanic shop!! I dropped my car off, did not have an appointment, and they were able to squeeze me in. Although, I would have just made an appointment if they couldnt have gotten me in. My brakes were grinding and I was preparing for the worst. I got a call from Cody who was very polite, professional, and knowledgeable. He said my front brakes were great and just needed the back ones. I paid a 3rd of what I thought I was going to. And maybe I just need to become more knowledgeable in cars or something but I would have probably believed him if he said I needed all 4 replaced, so I really appreciate the honesty and not recommending replacing things that didnt need to be. Customer service was great. Ill definitely be back for any future mechanic work!!

I paid $1300 to have my AC fixed and it came back broken in a different way. Took it back in, was charged $100 for the diagnostic, and told it would be $400 more for them to fix the new issue (the part costs $60 at autozone). Worst of all, when I went to drive the car home it was quite literally not put back together- everything was still all unscrewed and open. My friend had a similar experience here, they did not re attach his undercarriage after servicing the vehicle, so it was destroyed. They did not replace it for him. We both spoke to the owner about this and were subjected to rude and unprofessional verbal gymnastics as to why they weren’t the problem in any capacity. Quite surprised this place has such high ratings, they are horribleEdit: take a look at the aggressive and dismissive tone in the response if you want to get a feel for how you will be treated here. Digging his own grave. As you can see he openly admits the car was not put back together properly, he just uses semantics and word games to try and distract from how wildly unprofessional that is

Fantastic experience. Called on a Friday morning with no appointment, and they were able to get me in. I was worried about my brakes but it turns out they were fine. They could have taken advantage of my lack of knowledge about cars but they didn’t. Front desk was incredibly nice and friendly. Car was done in a few hours and I even got a discount on my oil change. Excellent place, will be returning.

So after taking my Toyota up to a dealer in Boulder(who shall remain unnamed) and getting quoted close to $7000, to fix my 2006 Avalon. I found these guys and they fixed everything on my car for less than $1200.I knew the gas cap needed to be replaced and the sensor was returning some bogus code and wanted to see if they would find it and they did. The Toyota dealership wanted to charge me over $800 to replace some charcoal filter and these guys caught it and replaced the gas cap which cost me less than $20.I am a NYer so by default I assume everyone is trying to rip me off. These guys did right by me and I would recommend them hands down to anyone looking to get their car fixed and not get fleeced.

The staff was very kind and accommodating, do not get me wrong. My issue was within the fact that I brought my car in for repair and left with the car in worse shape than it had eveer been before. I got a radiator pump replaced and a wheel bearing replaced, it has been about a month the wheel bearing is already making noise again and my car still overheats. I had to bring the car back after it was fixed beause they caused my check engine light to come on and they fixed that as well except that now it comes on intermittently along with an airbag light and break light that never used to come on before. They were very kind people, but did an absolutely terrible job as mechanics especially considering the amount they charged.
