I highly recommend this place. My wife and I have probably brought our cars here nearly 20 times in combination over the past 4 years. The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt. Weve always received fast, reliable, and quality service from them for a variety of things, from basic maintenance to more specific repairs.Im not an expert, so I cant really speak to the relative cost of things, but I get the sense that land somewhere in the middle for cost. I trust them to be fair in their pricing, and they always let me know what to expect and call to give me information if something changes from that before they proceed.Extra kudos to James + Alex, the two guys who man the phones. Probably the most enthusiastic and friendly staff members at any garage Ive gone to.
I had a minor issue of having my driver side window fall off the tracks so it wouldnt go up/down, and West Highlands Auto was super helpful and jumped on it. I believe I talked to James, and he coordinated everything for me, and I was even able to drop off my car right away and got it back no more than 2 hours later. Super reasonable price too, about half the price of Safelite and other glass companies. I didnt have any work done on the engine/tires/anything else, but I had a great experience with them!
I dont have enough good things to say about this repair shop! Alex and James are two of the coolest people I may have ever met, but besides that their technician is very thorough and knowledgeable, their prices are fair and on point, they provide a detailed summary with photos of your vehicle and text it directly to you prior to working on it. They are readily available and flexible with their schedule in the event of an emergency tow (happened to me) and when you schedule an appointment with them, their quoted time is spot on (also my experience). These guys run an excellent business, and will be my preferred mechanic from now on.
My Jeep check engine light came on and I wanted to get it checked out and repaired. I mentioned this to a neighbor who said she had heard great things about this neighborhood garage. I prefer local so I made an appointment. Everyone there was professional, knowledgeable and communicated every step of the way. The mechanic told me what was wrong, when the part would be available, got permission for work and most important the car was completed and ready when promised. It was a smooth process all around.
I used these guys years ago, they are close to my house, and they got me in quickly so I went back to address a maintenance light in my small SUV. The problem is, theyre just consistently over priced. Quoted $450 to change a belt. A shop in the same town (that provided excellent service) came in at $217.
I keep coming back to this shop because they do good work, are honest, honor their warranties and dont try to price gouge you which is fairly rare in my experience.
Quick service and provided estimate for repair without being pushy!
Professional from start to finish. I was treated with respect and all of my questions were answered. Thank you!
I’ve brought a couple of my vehicles here over the past year or two because they are not only friendly but have done a great job at repairing my vehicles. I fully recommend this shop I feel like they are honest and aren’t taking advantage of the customer.
Our 2014 Kia Sorrento broke down last week on 29th. The power steering died in mid turn and he almost wrecked the car. A/C had also died a week ago. Brought it in to James at West Highlands. He told us it was the alternator and repaired it for $987. Recharged the A/C and it worked! No extra charge to us! 👏🏼👏🏼 so that’s honesty for ya. I totally recommend them. Plus when talking to James, you can totally “hear” his smile through the phone. Good people.
I have been going to West Highlands Auto repair for several years and they always do a great job. Reasonable prices and excellent customer service. I highly recommend West Highlands Auto and completely trust them. Thank you!
They are significantly over priced & dishonest. Charged me $250 to fix a headlight then didn’t even fix it
These guys have nice demeanor but pricing/labor costs are insane and seem egregious. Quoted me $1200 for a job that I then got done by another shop for $300. I appreciate them being nice but would strongly caution anyone thinking about their taking business there about getting bent over price-wise.
West Highlands Auto Repair Consistently Offers Excellent Customer Service.I have been extremely satisfied with all of my interactions with the staff at West Highlands Auto Repair. They are thorough, professional, and helpful in assessing all of my cars needs. They do quality work at reasonable prices in a timely manner. It is a pleasure to do business with them.
These guys were great! Loved their communication, transparency, and rapidity. Had an oil change there look forward to working with them again next time. Definitely a recommended service.
I cannot think of a reason to fault this place. The price was right, they could get it done quickly, and every employee was super nice. I almost cannot believe that an experience at a car repair place was actually good.
These guys are the nicest and most honest auto repair shop that I have ever worked with. Highly recommended!
Just stopped by here for an oil change and was immidiately greeted by an incredibly friendly staff and a big sign that advertises that the shop is a local business (always better than a big chain in my opinion). The shop itself is located in a really great place if you plan on just killing time until its done-- there are at least three parks and lots of places to get food within walking distance. The only reason that Im not giving five stars is that the oil change took about 45 minutes longer than they said it would, which is understandable since work on a car definitely shouldnt be rushed. My main advice would just be to bring some earbuds, and make sure to go on a day when youre not on a tight schedule. Thanks West Highland Auto Repair!
West Highlands was recommended to me by a friend as a place that did good work and did not over charge. I was surprised that they were only open from 8-5 Monday through Friday.I dropped off my car Monday morning at 8 to a very friendly staff and when I still hadnt heard from them at 4:40 I called to check on progress. I was told they were almost done looking at it and if I could come in they would give me the estimate. Confused as to why I would need to come in, I asked if they could tell me over the phone and they said they could and would call back in 5 minutes. They did and told me they had already changed the oil and needed to order parts for the rest, but they could not find a stock wheel for my stock jeep. They said they would have the parts in the next day and gave me an estimate of $830.The next day I did not get a call until 4:35 and they told me they got the parts in but one of them was wrong so they reordered it and it would be there in the morning and they could finish it up in the morning. I asked for the estimate again and this time was told $1071 I assumed this new estimate included the oil change, tax, and labor. The third day I did not hear anything from them until 4:10, and when they called they asked if Id gotten their message. I told them no and they apologized and said they were finished and I could come pick it up.I was disappointed to see the labor costs with no documented time, and the parts they used were 3x what I was expecting, and had found myself.Overall the experience was not bad, the staff is extremely friendly, but it was certainly not convenient, or cheap. I would go back for an oil change, but I would not go back for much more than that.*UPDATE*I went to open my tailgate last night and it STILL opens too wide, to the point that it would hit my tail light if I let it. So the part I found online for $35 that they charged me $134 + $145 in labor did not fix the problem.
They got us in last minute and helped us with some AC issues. Great customer service! They answered all of our questions and were priced great!
I dropped my car off before opening. Explained that I needed an oil change and the brakes assessed and pads changed. I told him in no uncertain terms that I have a toddler and we are a one car family and I needed my car back today. They took until 4pm to “assess” my entire car (instead of just fixing what I told them to) and said they’d need to keep my car another day to fix the brakes, despite how clear I was. I basically gave them my car all day for an oil change. They also quoted me $830 to replace my side view mirror. I called a body shop who told me that a CRV side mirror should cost no more than $300. So they are either incapable or dishonest, and I’m not a fan of either.
Quick and professional service. I would definitely use them again and recommend to others.
Everyone was so friendly, the check was so thorough. I received photos of my vehicle assessment with an explanation of the cause and impending impact. They were so wonderful!
Highland is truly on our side. There was an unusual and ambiguous situation during my last service. Their response and resolution show impressive excellence and integrity.
I was very happy with the work the guys did though. They were very honest regarding what they found out with my car and how much it would cost. Keep the good wok up. A satisfied customer!
Excellent customer serviceJames and Alex are always so cheerful and helpful and communicative, and the entire team has been regularly keeping my dear old truck running for a very long time.
The mechanics quickly and accurately diagnosed a bad radiator fan and relays. The estimate they gave was accurate in both time and cost and I felt the price was fair.
I dont typically write review, but James and the crew at West Highlands Auto did such a great job I had to make sure others know that this is a great mechanic. I brought in my car on an extended warranty repair and had some issues with the claim, James went above and beyond to make sure the job got done. Friendly, helpful and honest. Best experience Ive had with a mechanic. Will recommend to anyone needing work done.
They always do a phenomenal job!
Great shop, fixed up my jeep fast and did a great job
Ive been to this place (location off 29th) about 5 times and as nice as they are, they dont perform their job to the best of their abilities. Ive had my ac fixed (later had to go back and get it fixed again a few months later and it wasnt covered by any warranty because they didnt look for this problem the first time around fixing it). More recently I got my brakes worked on and let them know about a leak I noticed, after the visit they said everything was good as new and wouldnt need to come back until I needed an oil change. Flashforward a little over a month and my car leak is worse than before and my check engine light is on. I called them and they never looked at the leak when I took it in. I would not take your car here unless youre ready to waste your time like me.
The repair was perfect and done exactly when they said it would be. Highly recommend and will definitely be back for any future automotive needs.
I had such a great experience here at the shop! Not only did they get me in and out they also had great prices. The staff was extremely professional and courteous. Will definitely be back!
Been here a few times for various things. They were a lot of help getting my car ready for emissions testing. Would recommend if youre in the area.
They never fixed the problem charge to much .
James and the staff were very knowledgeable and gave my husband and I a variety of repair options at different price points. The work was done quickly and proficiently, with fair pricing. The most notable part of the whole experience, though, was dealing with James, himself. He may be one of the friendliest mechanics weve ever had the pleasure of meeting. 5 stars!
Moved out to Denver just about two weeks ago and had my radiator bust - so needless to say I didnt know much about the area and immediately took my vehicle to the nearest auto shop which happened to be West Highlands Auto Repair. They worked on quoting me the lowest price possible for the repairs by checking various sources and told me they could have my vehicle ready the next morning (I was expecting it to be a few days). The next morning they called around 9 am to inform me my vehicle was ready and told me my cost was actually going to be less than what they quoted me. Very helpful, efficient, diligent, knowledgeable, and personable. Would recommend to any one seeking auto repairs.
Ive taken my vehicle here several times, and have had nothing but professional, and timely service from this shop. The people there are very friendly and helpful! I personally wouldnt take my vehicle anywhere else. I also thought the way the inspection report that was delivered via text to my phone was a cool and modern way to communicate the status of my vehicle, and the repairs that they had recommended.
Hard to find a good auto shop and this is it. Super friendly, competitive pricing and willing to go the extra mile, was very impressed.
This shop does quality work, but their pricing model is (in my opinion) nowhere near ideal. They assume that the customer knows nothing about how cars work, and they dont attempt to help the customer save money at all. For example, they will claim that parts need to be replaced when there are other more cost-effective solutions available. Other shops in the area will work a bit harder to ensure that youre getting the most bang for your buck.
Staff were extremely friendly and thorough when explaining stuff to me. Went in for the $30 special I got in the mail (oil change, tire check, new wipers..) They were quick and notified me as soon as my vehicle was done with a vehicle report sent to my phone. I will definitely be going back!
These guys did an awesome job fixing my jeep, something that Les Schwab couldn’t do they actually made the problem worse by breaking one of the parts and these guys took care of everything thank you !.
An honest mechanic shop who will be honest with you. Fast service. Great follow through.
They diagnosed a replaced a part (coil pack) that had burnt out two catalytic converters that a previous automotive business missed. Its nice driving a car with no engine light on in my dash. I took a four day road trip in my 2000 Miata with no issues. The reason for four stars and not five is because I dont like spending money.
August 2017 Update: Got the head gasket, timing belt, and various other seals in my Subaru done a few months ago and no leaks to speak of anymore. They also gave me a loaner car for free during the work. Great knowledge and service just like last time.Called in for a wheel mount balance and alignment, they got me in same day for a very good price. The two working the front desk (James and Jovanna) were very knowledgeable and service oriented. Going back here for all my auto work (that I dont feel like doing myself :)
Gene and the gang went above and beyond. Gave me a break when I was stressed about getting the job done altogether or in pieces. They even stayed after hours to finish! These guys got me home safe for the holidays! So many thanks!!
Ozz, and his team have been working with Wild Irishman for the past 15 years. Their team has taken care of our trucks and trailers with their detailed maintenance program to ensure our trucks are safe and running.Ozz is always working at the shop and available to answer your questions, or concerns as to why or why not you should repair your vehicle. They are a fair automotive shop, family owned and operated.Give them a try for an oil change, and tune up. You will not be disappointed.
You can never call this place for some quick questions its aways a charge or you have to bring it in. like when did companies stop helping out customers just for some extra money. i have my car tested and papers in hand to show they still want to run a test that cost 50 $ to make sure just help me out do the work.. taking business elsewhere from now on.
Ive always had great experiences - they are reasonably priced and provide sound explanations.Updated on 7.18:Another wonderful experience with James and the guys at West Highlands. Thanks, Guys!
The first time I used West Highland Auto Repair was for an oil change and it took over 4 hours. It was reasonably priced and the front desk was friendly. I recently received another coupon in the mail for an oil change so I booked it; hoping it wouldnt take as long. I arrived a few minutes late (7 to be exact), my fault, but they said they gave my spot to someone else and it was going to be 5 hours until they finished my oil change. I told them I couldnt leave it here that long. Instead of trying to make it work, they just apologized and said sorry. I told them Id find another mechanic to take my truck to and they said ok and have a nice day.Im a small business owner and I would never let anyone walk out my doors unhappy and I would bend over backwards to help the customer regardless of the circumstance. Unfortunately, this place did not see the value in me as a customer like I would have wanted them to.Im sure theyre a good local mechanic for some people. Unfortunately I will not be going back to this business.
Very knowledgeable and Customer Service Driven, Oswaldo and James are very friendly and will take great care if you.
West Highlands Auto Repair is the best garage I have ever visited. They are honest and professional guys/. Recommend them without hesitation.
James and Osvaldo are awesome. Ive been dealing with them for quite a few years now. They really know their stuff and are most importantly very honest and straightforward. I highly recommend West Highlands auto repair, they get it done fast, no fuss and no dodgy add-ons
I went in for a smog check. It was simple and it was fast. Shot out to Kevin who did the smog check. Hes the man.
James and staff were super friendly, professional and such great prices, plus my oil change was done in less time than quoted! This will definitely be my new place, Cant wait to go back!
Great customer service. They work with you to lower your costs. James is a super friendly guy. Check em out!
They are friendly and do good work though they always have my car for a really long time. But Id rather have a good job done than a fast job
Went there for the first time. Excellent experience. My car was overheating and the power steering pulley was making a weird sound. Before Id even agreed to any work, the mechanic came out and inspected the engine. He diagnosed the weird sound as a contaminant on the serpentine belt and proved it by spraying a cleaner on it, which made the sound worse. He could have charged me a fortune for replacing a perfectly good power steering unit but instead told me that after a while the sound would likely go away. He then tested my radiator, found the leak, showed it to me, and replaced it with a new one. They then stayed late to finish the job the same day. Outstanding. They earned my repeat business.
Great service. Very friendly, profession and quick. Highly recommend these guys if youre looking for a repair shop in Denver!
Great customer service, professional service and explained everything well, my car has not given me any troubles thanks to them, which is why Im willing to travel all the way from Brighton to here. Definitely worth it!
James and West Highlands Auto repair were unbelievably helpful and were beyond fair in a variety of ways. Although my car repairs ended up costing far more than I imagined- they worked with me to find ways to reduce the overall cost and took it upon them selves to fix additional technical problems eating the labor and parts costs- what mechanics would do that?James has wonderful customer service skills, is kind, professional and really is dedicated to leaving the customer happy. Hes a really nice guy.Originally I took my car to one of their local competitors and my experience was soooooo awful. After my car sat at their shop for 3 weeks I finally got it toed to West Highlands Auto and began the whole process again. Ill leave a review for this other mechanic shortly.I highly recommend these guys.
Took my truck over to get it worked on, in order to pass emissions. James was very good at his job and quite professional. Definitely will go again.
Went in thinking my car needed a major repair but ended up being something loose causing the problem. Easy fix means less money out of pocket so I was happy. Staff was very friendly and seemed eager to help. Ill continue to use them for any future car issues/maintenance
The only reason why I am giving this place a one star review for the owners manners. Hes a super nice guy but I have learned a long time ago that people are nice to cover up something. My former land lord recommend West Highlands because he is a personal friend to her. I took the car to get it repaired and it was finished it still had rattling noises. Brought it back and then charged for another repair. Thought is was strange that I had to bring it back a third time for something they missed. Finally, brought it to another garage and the high pitched noise went away. The other mechanic said that if I didnt bring in the car soon, the barrings would have went and it would have been trouble for me. If you dont mind throwing you money away after you never get the car fixed then by all means go
I took my car there for a simple brake job. After almost 1000 miles my new brakes were still squeaking comma and not some barely noticeable squeaking Im talking about a loud stretching from the bowels of hell. So I took one of my wheels off and discovered they didnt leave any of the parts on the caliper. They also didnt bother checking the brake fluid at all which was visibly contaminated and obviously needed to be bled and refilled. Ill never take any of my vehicles here again and will take every opportunity to encourage people not to use them
Wish I could do a negative star on this business. I took my car in to get diagnosed for $100.00 for them to tell me ALL my converters and 02 sensors on my car were bad. They quoted me $1600.00. Took it in for a second opinion and all it was, was a 02 sensor for $137.00. My car is now running great no check engine light!!! thanks to another shop
They were very cordial and polite. They seem professional. They did what they said they were going to do.
I went for an oil change. and my suv . now after the oil change i have an engine knock. i paid for good oil and he should have put in 6 quarts which is what my suv needs my oil change was 75.00 so it not bbq like i was looking for a cheap deal. i wont go back.
If I could rate 0 stars I would. I took my truck in very recently for an overall checkup,I was told my brakes were in poor shape and given a quote for front pads and rotars. $650, labor estimated at 6h. Rear brake work for $630 labor est at 4h. I was shocked and got a second opinion, thank goodness! perry and sons took a look and found 75% life left on both fronts and rears. they showed me pictures of the testing in progress with tires off. I was charged nothing.West highlands thought it fare to charge me $50 for a check up. I asked if they checked the fluids, no. i asked if they checked the brake lines, no. Im left wondering what I was charged for? these guys are either scammers or incompetent; neither of which is somebody id trust with my vehicle.
They were extremely fast in diagnosing and fixing the issue for my Toyota, I highly recommend them.
Love this place. Theyre always professional and curteous every time I come in and they always explain every charge and make the experience smooth and comgensive. Also pretty affordable.
Honest, quick, and knowledgeable. These guys had me in and out in no time. Looking for someone to trust. These guys are for you
Awesome place, friendly staff, and cheap prices.
Good customer service and kept me in the loop while the car was in the shop. Friendly and fair.
I am a little sad that I even have to write this review. I took my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee in to West Highlands Auto Repair as I had a sensor on the motor that had failed and was causing my car to fail to run. I usually do my own vehicle work but had exhausted all options in getting this problem fixed. After reading outstanding reviews, I had my car towed in and the team at West Highlands went ahead and diagnosed the problem and fixed that specific problem that ended up being the oil pressure switch that had failed. I feel it was a fair price and a timely repair. That is where my enthusiasm towards this shop changed. When I took my car in, it was showing only one engine code for the sensors on my jeep. I went to pick my Jeep up and when I left the lot I realized that I had much bigger problems. Immediately when leaving the shop, my service 4WD alert light came on, my car slow cranks almost as if the battery is dying, the tire pressure monitor light flashes often with no explanation, and when I start my vehicle, there is a long delay for any of the heating or air conditioning switches will respond. I called and they said to bring my Jeep back in and they would check these problems. I took it in not two days later and after having my car all day, I had to call to check the status to find out it had been checked out earlier, they just never though to call me. The service advisor then told me that none of the issues that were going on had anything to do with the work they did and that there was definitely a problem with the 4WD system but that is all they saw and they wanted another $90 just to look at it. Rather than try and come to a compromise as I had just spent my hard earned money with this business, the service advisor proceeded to argue with me over the phone even though he did not have all the facts from the service tech about the problem. I arrived to pickup my jeep and argued for 15 minutes longer with no conclusion. I asked to have the manager call me, to which the service advisor said he would do the next day. I waited for two days with no call so I decided to once again take it upon myself to call and the manager told me that even though the problems had not happened before I took my vehicle there and were not noticed during the initial visit, but were there immediately when I picked my vehicle up that it was nothing to do with them and there was nothing he would do for me. I find it most disappointing that a company that appears to strive on great customer service, would even let one fall through with no apparent regard. I recommend anyone use caution when making a decision to trust this company and its workers with your vehicle. After taking my car to a trusted person, I was informed that when West Highlands completed the work, that they shorted out my battery and I had to get a new one.... Bam problem solved.
Since 2006 I have had all of our family cars maintained at West Highland Auto Repair. I trust them and they are always reliable.
