I called yesterday to inquire about Le PARC. Even though they have bad reviews I decided to see for myself. I spoke with Jason and he was so rude and unprofessional. When I told him I have a emotional support dog he told me that they are not valid and just a pet and I will have to pay a deposit. He said the only valid support animal is a service animal who doesnt stay home. So I called my doctor and the fair housing authority to find out for myself. Well Jason is very wrong. Emotional support animal is covered under the people with disabilities act and the fair housing authority. You, Jason, are NOT allowed to charge me or anyone else a deposit or rent for a animal who is labeled emotional support. I was told to give you a second chance to correct this but I dont think I will be renting from a company that is clearly only about money. I guess I should have listened to the reviews. Oh and I reported this company to the fair housing authority and code compliance.

Since I am having so much trouble getting in contact with the owner of the company, Braden Power, I figured I’d come to the review section on google to be heard.I’ve had SO many issues with this company in the 5 years that I’ve been here. The most recent of which is my car being towed from the back of the property without any warning whatsoever. I’ve been asking the office if they towed my car for over a month, and the answer has been, “we haven’t towed any cars” until today! When they finally gave me the information to the company that towed my car, I reached out to them today to find out that it’s now over $2,000 to retrieve my car, and if I don’t pick it up by Wednesday they’ll be auctioning it.On top of my car being towed, I am constantly worried about my safety on this property bc they refuse to maintain the entrance gates. The gate is constantly left unlocked, which led to a homeless man trying to break into my apartment at 4am one night. I’ve made several complaints and maintenance requests about it and it took months for them to (seemingly) get the issue resolved, although the gates continue to only work sporadically. My particular property was previously managed by power properties management company, but over the past few months has been transferred to “ritzy room management.” Another security issue I’ve been having since this management switch is I’ve noticed several, about 10 out of the 45 units on property are now being rented out to AirBnB guests. Several of the guests have been disrespectful to the property and it makes me feel very unsafe seeing people move in and out so frequently. I hope that anyone considering this place as your residence finds this review and gets a chance to reconsider before you are trapped by this company and taken advantage of.

I want to be clear this positive review is for LISA IN THE MANAGEMENT OFFICE and only her. Ive been a resident with PP for over a year now and every time I have an issue and need to get in touch, Im rarely able to reach someone. Emailing is futile, as the obscure upper-management Ive been in touch with are selective with which of your questions they will answer and help you with. With that being said, after finally getting in touch with an actual human over the phone in the office, LISA was able to answer ALL of my questions and help me tremendously-- far more than anyone else Ive been forced to communicate with! THANK YOU Lisa for helping me with the numerous questions I had and for being so friendly and accommodating!! Youre a life saver!

Update: I moved into this unit two weeks ago and that’s when life became hell! I would not recommend this space to my worst enemy. Our power, air, and gas is out. There ahas been no discussion of reimbursement. I just want to move out and the people here are no help whatsoever. They don’t know when the lights will be back on but it’s been almost a week.If you want a stress free move, Ill suggest searching elsewhere. When applying to a property online, I suggest calling to confirm true availability. I spent $400 dollars applying to an apartment to move over 1,000 miles to find out I was approved, but the tenants lease was not over and she decided to stay. Now I have to scramble to find a new unit and no one is willing to put time to fix this issue. This process has been nothing short of stressful.

Up until now I would say I had a good experience with them. 10 months after move in, they claim they never received rent upon move in. Is it standard procedure to move in tenants who have paid not paid first month rent? I really doubt that to be the case. They lost my money order and are now claiming its my fault for their mistake. I would not recommend.

Lisa Maples is unorganized, unprofessional and rude. I paid my deposit for an apartment and did not hear back from her. Lisa finally returned my call three days later only to inform me the apartment was longer available. There are other leasing agents in the office so it is understandable that they do not all have the same information immediately. I can understand that. Lisa then sent me a floor plan for another apartment. This showed two beds and two baths. I made my appointment to lease that apartment. Not only did Lisa not have my lease ready, she barked at me to be patient as she was doing the best that she could even though she was making simple mistakes such as dates on the lease terms. She was also ordering lunch as I was sitting there, but she cannot multitask efficiently. I finally signed my lease and got the keys only to discover the apartment only had one bathroom. When I called Lisa she yelled at me that she had not built the apartment so it was none of her concern. I reminded her the floor plan she sent me had two bathrooms and that it was also still up on their website. She continued to yell at me that this was not her mistake and hung up. Lisa Maples is impatient, unhelpful and rude.

Disappointed with their communication! I reached out over the weekend to meet with someone about setting up a lease and touring a few units, no call back. I finally went to the leasing office Monday, my agent was fabulous but they are overworked and failed to get back to me when I had additional questions. I followed up via email last night, no reply, and called today and was told well you have to stick with your original agent and shes off today, youll have to wait until tomorrow. While I appreciate honoring someones commission, they sound really motivated to lease the units they DO have available!

From Day 1- The bathroom roof had collapsed due to water damage prior to move-in. They knew we were moving in and didnt have the unit ready. It took weeks to get it finally completed, with workmen coming in and out. I work from home and this constant interruption was problematic. There was a raccoon infestation. They would come and trap the raccoons that pushed their way under our kitchen sink, until finally they sealed the hole. This lasted weeks.Overall the quality of the unit is questionable and likely not up to code. The doors are not tight. Vines make their way inside the bedroom windows. Screens are loose. The washer and dryer are free if and when they work. Parking is a nightmare. The communication between leasing agent, management, maintenance, etc. is perfect for them. They all blame each other when there is a problem. Problems continue, solutions dont!Overall, our lease was 6 months only. Thank God! We have found newer, nicer, less expensive...less than 20 minutes away from the congestion of Verandah Flats.

Great experience living in this property. The staff is always really helpful and responsive. I had very few issues in the actual apartment and maintenance would always fix any problems the same day. Andrew was super helpful in the leasing process. The courtyard layout of this particular property makes you feel as though you’re living in a resort and allows you to connect closely with all of your neighbors. If you can look past some of the slight imperfections that come with it being an older building, I highly recommend it.

We are on our 2nd year and 2nd unit with Power Properties. Our first year was wonderful -- No issues. In fact we truly WANTED to stay with them another year instead of trying to find a rental house because of how great everything was. Our 2nd year at a different location with them has been a nightmare. If you dont have any problems your stay with them is wonderful. Though if you come to any hiccups within your lease, youll find they obviously need new management. It seems they do not take anyone seriously, a huge lack in communication, and no experience is working with people. Several times we have attempted sitting down with management due to an issue on their end (not giving owed money back to us) because they ignored our emails...time after time...we decided we would settle with a phone call and they refused. This will be our last year with Power Properties. If I had the money, we wouldve already moved out.

I have lived at Fox Trott, one of the Power Properties for over five years. I love it! Management is responsive to needs. Things are fixed promptly. Katie is an outstanding advocate for residents and sees that we are taken care of.It is built around a gorgeous courtyard with pool, fountain, gazebo, gas grills, palm trees and lush plantings. I spend most of my time on my deck, enjoying the Zen atmosphere. Its an older building, which means there are sometimes problems, the floor isnt exactly level and this older kitchen could use more cupboards. The age also lends to the character. I have wood floors, a soaring ceiling, full length windows to bring the outdoors in. In my two story unit I have ample living space and lots of closets.I like my neighbors and with the courtyard I see them and get to know them. Its a pretty easy going and friendly group. I may be here another five years.

Applied for Greenhouse and got approved to be told the apartment is not available and I paid the app fee. It was listed on the site and I’ve always liked this property driving by. Then, was told was a nice place on Swiss Ave available, so I went to apply for it and couldn’t. Vicci told me oops someone in the office referred someone to apply for it (friend perhaps of course). So, last on the list was the Verandah flats which I applied for #212. All was well and I’m waiting on the refund for the fee from the app for the apartment that wasn’t available. (They said they would refund it) So, then I ask for days about lease, parking, and when my Husband can see for 3/15 move in. I’m told they don’t do move ins on Monday (??) ok...then am told will get a lease this week. Then told not sure if it’ll be ready but my husband can look at a unit but not sure, maybe next week. Well he is driving two hours to see it, so we have to know. Then, check rent cafe and unit is switched to #217 and I ask why and told that #212 is not moving out....ok but now 212 is back on the site (??). In the interim, we looked elsewhere and found a new property in the same range and they don’t control the utilities (which I don’t like) and have great reviews. I can’t believe no one knows what is open or what amenities the apartments have!! I asked Vicci about what units have a fireplace and I got a “I don’t know”. And how do the open units keep changing. So, we’ve decided to rent elsewhere because I couldn’t get a lease, the stories kept changing, and I was having anxiety through this all. We don’t usually rent but the one time we did this last time, it was seamless. This was NOT. Now, I want my deposits back. Because both apts were NOT available and Vicci changed the unit and didn’t notify us first. I happened to look for the lease and found it was changed. So, I paid for applications and fees for apartments that were essentially taken and that we can’t occupy and is an easy way for them to make money. My mother was a VP of a rental property company of 500-600 units each and she knew the amenities and what was empty or full in the 22 years she did this. It’s common to lose some money in app fees if you decide not to rent, but to consistently have someone apply for units that aren’t available (I have three apps on rent cafe and only paid two fees but it adds up ), is not right. And that’s why we had to go elsewhere, along with the uncertain move in date when I’m paying $1200 for movers. We have decided to pass and now blowing up my phone saying a big story about person not moving etc. UPDATE: I did get money back promptly minus applicable fees which I’ll take it. I would suggest SEEING the property first and then applying and making sure it’s available before putting any money down. The lady I dealt with was nice about the check and got it right away. Just because it’s on the site doesn’t mean the unit is available and always talk to someone first. But the issue was resolved.

I have been living here for a year now, and I just renewed my lease. Of course there are pros and cons to everywhere you choose to say. No place is perfect. But I feel like I’ve found my home. I go for a run everyday down Swiss Ave.(Look it up). I feel very safe here, especially being a single mom. We are a community and everyone looks out for everyone. That is why Power Properties is a gem!! If you are curious about these properties, I highly recommend you speak with Katie Ludwig, the property manager. She was the only one that would show me properties after my day job. I was having trouble because my job was in Desoto and I couldn’t get here before the office closed. I was so stressed. She saw me and didn’t rush me and I had a new apartment that week! She is a beast! She knew exactly what I was looking for and what I needed. If I ever have any issues she has taken it on personally to see that a solution is in place. She even hooked me up with an affordable mechanic when my car wouldn’t start! She had them come to the property!! During quarantine you could get your car washed in the back parking lot. Like, come on. I’ve lived in Dallas for 5 years and I have NEVER renewed a lease until now. We were the luckiest in Dallas during quarantine to have our pool and bar-b-q set up. Felt like we were on vacation. Not kidding. I highly recommend power properties. Get in touch with Katie if you need things done professionally and in a timely manner!!!

I could talk about the complex but like everywhere Ive lived, theres good and bad. But theres one thing power properties has that Ive never encountered in all my years renting and thats their manager, Katie Ludwig. Since the moment I started my apartment search she has not just been helpful but also extremely involved in my stay the entire 4 years of my residence. When there was a small leak, she personally booked me a nice hotel suite for a few days while they fixed the drywall. When I had an issue with anything at all, she was there to fix it and ease my mind. When there was a mix up with my online payments she took off every single fee and helped me get everything figured out. She made me feel like I had a voice and I mattered, which is so rare in apartment living. Sure, the pool is awesome and I love my apartment and the location is fantastic but I would recommend living here for the customer service alone!

I give one stars worth of credit for the nifty aesthetic, which seems consistent across their properties, and the response time of maintenance (not pest control), however ineffective and temporary the repairs may have been. The 4 blank stars are for everything else.I could go on and on about the condition of the laundry rooms (graffiti and discarded, used condoms on the machines about covers it), the constant partying (spurred by the apartment-condoned airbnb rentals on property), and the mold growing inside the apartment, which ultimately began to grow on my clothes and even my wood furniture, but Ill stick to this:Two weeks after I moved out, I was told that they would be charging me to re-varnish the floors due to pet odor. There was indeed an eye-stinging odor in the apartment. It was caused by the ever-dripping air conditioning vent, which I had reported on multiple occasions, and was clearly exacerbating the already-present mold and mildew problem. But my 14 year-old female cat, who has always lived in apartments and has never been a problem, was not the problem here either. When I tried to argue my case, whomever I spoke with on the phone agreed to meet me on a Saturday at the property to review the smell. I arrived on time for this meeting, but no one ever came. After waiting 30 minutes, I called the office and they said to wait a little longer. I called again. They said not to wait around and theyd get back to me. They never did. Instead, I got a deposit with the cost for re-varnishing automatically deducted. That seems really sleazy to me. There could be valid debate about pets and their damage to apartments, although I maintain that my cat was definitely not the source of the odor, but to clearly leave me hanging, and offer no apology, response, or reschedule, and then just move forward with huge deductions from my deposit: not cool. Very unprofessional.LIke most tenants, I dont have the time or resources to take this kind of situation to court, which is why rental companies can continue to get away with this kind of stuff. The only recourse we have is reviews, and the hope that other renters will take those reviews seriously and reward the top companies with their business and steer clear of those who will keep their deposits. So my advice: steer clear of Power Properties.

What started out as a decent living experience evolved into a very negative one, especially the last two years I was in my unit at the Avalon. The things that stand out to me are I had a chair and small table stolen from a small area outside of my unit that I was told could be used as a balcony. No one from Power Properties ever responded to my email about it. The several noise complaints in regards to a neighbor constantly blaring their TV/music I also emailed about were never responded to either. The maintenance of the property also went down hill as the dumpster area was frequently overflowing with garbage and a gross old mattress that someone dumped sat there for two months at one point. Lastly, this past December when I went into the office to give my 30 day notice, I was rudely told it had to be 60 days even though my initial lease I had signed 5 years ago showed 30 days and was told I wouldnt win this war. The whole discussion ended with everyone working there wandering into the other rooms leaving me sitting there confused if that was it so eventually I just showed myself out with nothing still resolved. Fabiola is the only one there who was professional when helping me, and thankfully my 30 day notice was still good so I was able to move out as planned. So with all that said, if I ever move back to the Dallas area I definitely will not ever rent from Power Properties again.

The stove was stained and filthy. The inside of the dishwasher was covered in dirt and bugs. There was mold and mildew under the sinks which did not drain. The bathroom had not ventilation. Both exterior doors has massive gaps to the outsides among many many other problems. Few of these initial problems were addressed. There were holes in my wall for well over 6months. As the lease progressed, I went most of the first winter with no heat. They never. Leaned the bathtub drain. They told me there was a washer and drier hookup but there wasn’t. As a result I had all of my laundry stolen costing me 1500$ to replace my wardrobe. My packages were stolen often. I would walk in on homeless people hiding in the laundry room regularly. The apartment had a terrible musty smell. I reported all of these issues multiple times over the year I lived here. Upon moving out, I cleaned the apartment as best as possible considering the terrible condition of the unit. They are now attempting to charge me 1000$ in damages. Good job power properties. I recently visited 6011 Gaston. As a former three year resident of a different property, Ive seen 6011 a bunch of times over the years. I have to admit I have never seen it look so nice. Great job on the landscaping. The garden/pool area looks like an arboretum. Re accents. Quite tables. It feels calm, and it feels loved for. I have 2 ducks or i would come back.maybe 6011 gaston would like some ducks? Keep up the good work. Ive read some other reviews. Youre not going to find this level of quality at these prices anywhere else in Dallas. 6011 is an aesthetic gem.

When I moved to Dallas, Power Properties was a saving grace. They found me an apartment quickly and made my move super easy. Since I was new to the area the leasing agents gave me a quick tour of the Lakewood Neighborhood letting me learn the ropes of my new home. I loved how pet friendly my apartment complex was! I would meet with fellow residents and take our dogs for walks along Swiss Avenue. I also loved how relaxing and friendly the courtyard was. We would have complex wide BBQs on Sunday and sun bathing afternoons. I didnt know a soul moving to Dallas and if it wasnt for PP I probably wouldnt have made as many close amazing friends as I did.

I discovered Power Properties after transferring to Baylor of Dallas about five years ago and have lived in their properties since. Their apartment homes supplement the Lakewood and Historic Swiss Avenue neighborhoods very well. They are by far the best looking, affordable apartments in the area...The company staff have been a great help over the past few years, not just on a professional level but on a personal level as well. They host gatherings for their residents every few months or around the holidays which is a great way to socialize on a weekend night with neighbors I typically do not see.... I requested to have my bathtub resurfaced due to discoloring and the turnaround time on getting that fixed was rather quick (two days). Parking isnt an issue for me as I do not have a car and live within walking distance of my job. It is fairly quiet for apartment living, even on weekends. My apartment is nice both inside and outside. Sitting on my courtyard can be compared to sitting on a nice beach as their are palm trees, nice lawn furniture, and a pool and a grill...I do not have any complaints concerning my apartment or Power Properties. I would recommend them to a friend or an enemy, which should say a lot.

We have had some definite issues with the management in the past (but I dont feel like that is totally uncommon). But we love the apartment and the location. The apartment is adorable. I have to say the management has made steps to make amends. The property manager and the owner have reached out to both my husband and I. That is something as a person and a customer I truly appreciate. I think that it says a lot about the character of a company and the owner when he makes multiple attempts to call and solve whatever issue there may have been. At the point I would recommend Power Properties to friends and family. Its a great property and the maintenance staff is so friendly and helpful!!!

When we rent what is it that we look for? Location? Layout? Price? For me I got all of these when I stumbled across Power Properties and their boutique apartments. Their zen living is what one needs to come home to after a stressful day of life. When I moved into my apartment, the Property Manager was friendly and their crew was efficient and quick. The layout is unique which makes the property special and we all love being around special. I have lived all over the country renting and the layout, the price and location all come together with the feel of the city yet the zen of being quiet.

My husband and I moved in about 7 months ago and overall have enjoyed making our little apartment home, aside from 2 separate incidents of stolen packages and my husbands really nice bike stolen off our patio (it wasnt locked, so thats mostly on us, but management didnt seem to care that it had happened on their property). We like our neighbors and the amenities, but it is obvious in small ways throughout the apartment and in the common areas that things were built/decorated cheaply, and thrown together haphazardly (e.g. crooked light fixtures, plastic light features, poor quality grills, gaudy/plastic decor in pool areas, oven door broken quickly, etc.) despite managementsluxury advertising. Our most negative experiences have come from management: notices about an unsightly patio 1 week after moving in (and theres no recycling, so we stacked broken down boxes temporarily while we got settled); lack of support or accountability when our things were stolen; and ridiculous fees that arent explained well on the website about when exactly rent is due and the fees incurred if its late. We were also promised closet doors that never arrived after multiple attempts to reach out to our broker. If you want a pretty cute place to live in a great neighborhood/Dallas location with friendly neighbors, youll more than likely find that here. But youll also have to deal with a management company that obviously cares more about making money than treating its customers with care and respect.Update on December 2018: Run from these folks. They have made it crystal clear that they dont care about their customers. I was sent a $10 refund check (out of a $400 security deposit), with a total of $340 deducted for a walk out fee. B.S. No explanation given, multiple emails and calls sent to just get an explanation with no response. So glad to be done with these folks.

There is a lot of negativity here, but I had a positive experience when I lived in a Power Property so I feel it is necessary to share my experience. This company has brought a touch of elegance to this East Dallas neighborhood that does not look very appealing when driving down the main streets. Their colors, decorations, fixtures, and layout give a very different feel from typical apartments. The clientele that their properties attract brought me neighbors that were young, friendly, but quiet which isnt typical in apartment communities. The leasing staff was great to me my entire time there. I never had a problem contacting them or getting a return call when I left a message. Maintenance requests are handled in a timely manner, especially for the number of complexes this company has. I like to look at things from all aspects before I analyze things. I think Power Properties does a great job for the location and for the number of people they serve!

My experience at power properties has been ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!! I’ve had a extremely long list of things that need to be fixed at my unit. I typed it all up and personally took that list to the leaseing office due to the fact there was a tremendous amount of problems. One of the issues was the fact that i heard my water running in the hall. Exactly 2 months later, “due to a rusted old valve” my apartment flooded. My personal possession were damaged in the process. The next day power properties managers came out to take a look at my unit. They saw the damage and were even to scared to step on the floors because the fear it would cave in. At that point they had also asked me about my renters insurance, I explained to them I am paying for renters insurance through the apartments. They explained that they are extremely worried since I have their renters insurance that my possessions may not be covered. She said she would still send the insurance information to me, however I never received it.After express my concern with all my damages they then told me they would replace my carpets and floors as well as having my apartment professionally cleaned including dry cleaning all my wet clothes. When I arrived back home all my clothes were in plastic bags. They literally picked up everything on the floor throwing it all in trash bags (my clothes were mixed in a bag with trash) nothing has even been cleaned except for my tub and dishes. When we contacted the managers in regards to this they stated they simply felt uncomfortable asking the cleaning lady to take my clothes to the dry cleaners! Now my clothes are ruined because she didn’t feel comfortable asking!! Then when we called the next day to get the insurance information one of the managers responded with “that wasn’t the deal.” I called the leasing office 3 times trying to get that information, they were continuously dodging me. When I finally got a hold of a leasing agent (one I haven’t spoke with) he told me that he didn’t see any insurance information in my file about having insurance on my unit and just gave me a general number to call. I finally let that go now not even a month later THERE IS ANOTHER LEAK IN MY UNIT!!!! I will be seeking legal actions against power properties!!! These apartment are literally falling apart and they need to be inspected!!! DONT MOVE HERE!!

Power properties has been my saving grace. After living in several sub-par places in the richardson area I certainly know what its like to be truly unhappy with your apartment and the people who run it. Power properties on the other hand have been just plain awesome. Period. Sure the living space itself is great, but what really makes them good is the people who work there. Ive always been treated with care and respect, and while there rarely ever was an issue, they would swiftly take care of it if there were. Even parking is a breeze. I would highly recommend this place to anyone I know.

First PP apartment I lived in was on Swiss. Lived there for a year. Always had a lot of mosquitos and bites, never thought too much of it. Finally realized they were coming out of kitchen and bathroom sink due to standing water in the basement. Oh well, my lease was up and i was transferring to a different unit to save some money. Everything else had been fine.Plenty of time passed and I did not receive any news about the refund of my deposit in apartment #1. They claimed they didnt send it because I did not provide them with my new address (remember, I transferred to another one of their units). They also recommended that I should go check the mailbox in my old apartment if I still had a key 🙄. When I finally did get it, I was hit with a bunch of cleaning related charges despite having cleaned the apartment thoroughly. I went to talk to one of the brothers and he agreed to remove the charges and refund my deposit; after all, I was still a PP tenant who was putting down another deposit on another unit...Moved into apartment on Annex. At some point, my dishwasher stopped working correctly. It filled with water but the dishes still came out dirty. Because it was still filling with water, management didnt seem to think it needed repair. It took 4 months to get it replaced with them constantly saying it would be fixed. They actually replaced my upstairs neighbors dishwasher during this time then claimed that the dishwasher she got was supposed to be for me and that it was confusing because her apartment was 208 and mine was 108 and apparently they didnt realize we were 2 different people and they had even been calling her by my name. Thats how confused they were. Anyway, during this time period they actually hand delivered to my apartment some supplies for hand washing my dishes (dish rack, rags, dish soap), which was a nice gesture, but then they didnt understand why I was still constantly nagging them about fixing my dishwasher and they let me know that they thought I was very ungrateful. Finally one day, 4 months after my original complaint, I came home and had a new dishwasher! I had given up by then so there was literally no communication between them and I. It was really weird. In the meantime, started dating a guy in another unit. He moved out and I warned him to thoroughly clean and take pictures. I kind of knew exactly what they would try to charge him for so we took some very specific pictures. Sure enough, they tried to get him on a bunch of bogus charges including cleaning of fridge, oven, fan blades, and holes in walls. We used the photographic evidence we had of each of these and they removed the charges. One day I can home from work and found that they had installed a new shower drain. No advanced notice was given and they didnt leave notice that they had entered the apartment (and I did not request any type of maintenance). I complained to them that the lease specifies that notice must be given in advance or left in the apartment if they enter. They told me I was being nit-picky and that it was accident because the maintenance guy was new. The next time I did request maintenance, I noticed a note on the guys log sheet that said very picky tenant, leave note.Near the end of this lease they called me to the office to let me know they would not be offering me an extension on my lease. LOL. As if I wanted to live there for one more day!!After I moved out, they sent me a letter letting me know they were taking all of my deposit AND they wanted me to pay more. The most outrageous charges were $200 to repaint 8 walls due to dog smell in walls and $50 for cleaning 2 curtains (they came with the apartment, upon move-in I immediately took them down and hung my own curtains. I kept them folded in the closet the whole year I lived there then ironed them and left them folded on the window sill).TL;DR: dont live here. If you are for some reason, get documentation and pictures of everything. They are scam artists.

NOT ACCOMODATING AT ALL! The entire experience from start to finish including post follow up via phone call was horrible, rushed even though their team set the appointment time!, did not listen or show anything as per my requests and acted as if me asking about multiple properties was an inconvenience to them or having them go out of their way. I also almost forgot to mention there were 2 roaches spotted at the entrance of the one place we were shown and also multiple electrical cords and wires tied and wrapped with somebodys belt that we were instructed to duck under to enter the one model floor plan we were shown. We didnt just get this type of experience with one employee but multiple! Unfortunately, power properties own most of the properties off Gaston. My advice, if you can locate a property that has its own leasing office- go through them even if it is owned by power, but the best advice just dont rent under this management company! Not helpful at all, rude, and fully unaccomadating! IF I COULDVE PICKED 0 STARS FOR THIS TRASH COMPANY I WOULDVE!!! I live in a Power Property and love everything that this company stands for. The atmosphere has a unique vibe and everyone seems to be down to earth, even the Power Property staff as they are always friendly and helpful. The courtyard of my property and every Power Property that I have visited has a tropical feel and is very relaxing. My apartment itself is very homely feeling as the colors of things are dark and all the appliances are stainless steel. I have had trouble with my garbage disposal a few times, but maintenance always takes care of it within a couple of days. The maintenance guy finally had to give me a lesson on what I can and cannot put in the disposal :)...I love being right out on outskirts of downtown and a lake. Those two things usually are not close to each other so that is very convenient. There is a Whole Foods, Aldi, Neighborhood Walmart, and a Trader Joes all close by. There is a little something for everyone regardless of class/social status, very diverse. This neighborhood and my apartment are triple A, and in my book that stands for attractive, affordable, and awesome!

I love this place!! Been here a year now, and Im very impressed. For anyone out there looking for a unique apartment community with character and spunk, then this is the place. The apartment has actual real wood floors, a beautiful kitchen, and a really open zen-like atmosphere throughout. Probably my favorite feature is the pool-side amenities. Throughout the complex, a kind of Miami-vibe with trees, fireplaces, and televisions provides a relaxed community mentality. The pool is a great place to hang out and relax too, especially in the late afternoon, where you can listen to the nature sounds that play throughout the complex on speakers hidden in the trees. This place is the perfect choice for the urban professional that is looking for uniqueness amidst the bland lanscapes of Uptown (which just screams corporate-owned banality). Also, Lakewood is amazing!

Minutes later there was a man trying to break into my back door. When he realized that it was locked, he walked back to the vacant apartment. Police were called.

The property we moved into only had one unit available which happened to be their show unit that they were going to rent out on Air B N B but instead allowed us to sign a 6 month lease. They informed us that they would also install a new Nest thermostat before we moved in, which was great because we wanted to try one out before we moved into our new home and that two carports were open for us to rent. Upon move in there was damage their movers did the walls when removing the staging furniture and they even left a heavy outdoor patio set because it was too much of a hassle to move (we didnt mind the damaged wall or the furniture since we were only there for 5 months), the fact this was a staging property meant they didnt clean it and I had to mop the floor 3 times in order to no longer have anything black transferring to the mop or our feet. When they removed the bed from the property you could see how black foot traffic around the perimeter (the only clean spot was where the bed was) to say the least it was disgusting and the carpet should have been steam cleaned prior to our move in. There were dead bugs and so much dust on the blinds it was ridiculous, oh and if you wanted to open the windows in the bedroom forget about it because they were all sealed shut. I felt that our Dyson vacuum cleaner had to put in over time to get that disgusting carpet clean after the first 3-4 months the amount of compacted dirt was finally clearing. There was mold in the bathroom around the clear caulking they used in the shower and the grout was cracked around the built in seat (I took one bath, only one because I could smell the mold in the air coming from the seat-major issue) the bathroom was very pretty but not well constructed. After 3 month of living there which was half the time of our lease they finally installed the promised Nest thermostat and we were only able to get one carport because the rest were being rented (the office had to call all 9 other tenants because they had no idea who was renting what).NOW for the kicker! The units at this address have two entrances to them, one leading off the living room to the courtyard and the other off the kitchen to the parking lot in the back; the kitchen entrance has a landing that had hardwood floor (when hardwood flooring is exposed to repeated rain the floor starts to weaken) the floor was starting to give a little bit but still held until August 22, 2016 the floor gave out which caused my leg to fall through. Luckily I was wearing jeans that saved my leg from sustaining too much damage but I did get scrapped across the shin and some swelling; I was very thankful for not breaking my leg or dropping the glass I was holding at that time. The office ladies came out right away when I called in to check what had happened (one made a comment stating they knew the floor was weakened but had not made the proper repairs) they promised they would have their carpenter come out and repair the floor...well their repairs consisted of just placing a white board over the top of the hole and screwing it into the damaged hardwood. They did not repair this up to the day we moved out.Now we were informed they charged us for steam cleaning their dingy disgusting carpet, cleaning their mold bathroom, and painting the scraps on the wall...I have left two emails and a voicemail to discuss these issues with no reply yet. All these damages were notated on our Move in Inventory form but they still charged us. I wish we had gone with a cheaper transition apartment instead of trying to stay in the area had sold our Condo in.Update-PP has agreed they will refund the rest of our deposit; the make ready team did not pull our Move In Inventory form and instead charged us for the damages that were preexisting.

My lease ended at my Power Properties apartment (The Stardust) at the end of March. I lived there nearly 4 years. The community I lived was a mix of outgoing people and people who kept to themselves. So one was able to be themselves and feel at home. I never had a problem with any of the residents except a few incidences of music being left on while they were out of town, nothing major. Now, the reason I stayed through to the end of my lease was because it would have cost me more to break it then pay the final few months of my lease. While living there parking was ridiculous. In four years they went through at least two changes in policy. One policy was to give residents green decals but still any if everyone still parked in the gated parking. Another policy was to ban parking in fire zones but people still did. Moreover the lease said that the management company might respond to those who violate the parking. Long story short there were times that I would have to park my car on the street and walk at least a block to get to the apartment. They did offer me a remedy of being able to park at the leasing office and then walk a block and a half back to my place. I never took them up on the offer because I was paying more than enough in rent for them to be cognizant enough to enforce the parking.Another issue is that they were slow to fix things. I once had a condenser pan leak for 3 or 4 days. I called for three days straight. It wasnt until the last day when I found a quarter inch of standing water in the apartment that they came out to fix it. With the walls being wet, their remedy for mold was to paint over it. Yet, they never attempted to dry the walls. So as others have mentioned maintenance is an issue. I will say they had one repair man who did the after hours repairs who was very good and prompt when called. So when it comes time to move out I let them know according to the lease. I was never offered a chance to do a final walk through nor was I given I final checklist to go over. I now have a bill of $135 to pay for cleaning. They are charging me to steam clean the carpet and replace the blinds. I have never had to pay for simple wear and tear items upon move out or any other apartment I lived. They are quick to mention on the heels late payments that they are going to report you to credit agencies or evict you if you do not pay (I was late one time because I was out of town and I found a note on my door that if I didnt pay I could be up for eviction). Moreover, the damaged property due to the flood in my apartment was probably about $135. The fact that the leasing agency never address the parking issue after numerous guests complained and causing people to not be able to parking in the gated lot.As a comparison, in my new place I am paying less in rent, more space, sufficient parking, on site management, and maintenance team that is responsive.

Okay there is some serious hating going on here and Id like to provide an honest and completely positive perspective to counter these reactionary fools. For anyone considering a Power Property, I moved in to The Greenhouse early May and couldnt be happier with my place, PARTICULARLY considering the ambition of the renovation when I first toured it.I saw it just 6 weeks prior to move in and it was, lets just say, far from even close. The property manager assured me her team would have it ready and I trusted her for some reason lol. Im glad I did: there certainly have been a few finishing touches in the weeks after I moved in, but even those were addressed ASAP, even as larger apartments were still being completed. I was worried about the noise, being directly adjacent to the pool, but there have been no issues. The best part of my experience, three months in, have been the relationships Ive found here. Cant say I was expecting it, having recently moved back to Dallas from LA, but Power is very selective about who they bring in and it shows. I recently graduated college and have started my life in an apartment that I will call home for a while. I have lived at Power Properties almost a year now and I have not one complaint thus far. The whole living on my own thing was new, but the leasing agent and manager were knowledgable and made my first experience a great one. There were a couple of things that still needed to be fixed when I moved in, but they were fixed shortly after. Since then I have put in simple maintenance requests like filters, bulbs, and garbage disposal issues and they were all fixed within a couple of days. Maintenance is not an issue at all. They keep their properties up and the upkeep starts with the landscaping of the exterior. I love the interior of my apartment! The light fixtures, granite countertops, and wood floors in the common areas look great with my new modern IKEA furniture!...This is my first year in my career and I am glad that I can afford a place that is so pleasing to the eye, and I must add that it is in an upscale neighborhood not too far from restaurants and bars that I frequently go to. I am finally happy to invite my friends over because this is a much better look than my boring dorm room.
