This apartment complex is just a mess. My apartment door lock was broken for over a week and a half and they wouldn’t fix it (because it wasn’t an “emergency”) so anyone could walk in and out of my apartment at any time. Incredibly unsafe.Twice now my mailbox has been broken and each time they fixed it, they didn’t give us a new key so we couldn’t access our mail. One of the two times it was broken, anyone could open it and someone stole our mail.And now my toilet has been running and somehow getting my entire bathroom floor wet and it’s been over a week since our first maintenance request and they still haven’t come. We call and they don’t answer. We go there and they say they’ll send someone that day and no one shows up.There’s always trash and glass everywhere on the grounds. The laundry room is absolutely horrid and dirty. It’s just incredibly disappointing. I’ve given them an incredible amount of grace (and will continue to to the best of my ability) because I know they were understaffed for awhile but the lack of care me and my fiancé have personally felt as residents has just left us extremely frustrated (hence the review).If you’re considering moving here, please look elsewhere for your home.
Yea, definitely don’t sign here. I had signed up for a 1 bed 1 bath on a 6 month lease, paid my application fee & security deposit only to be signed up for a studio on a 12 month lease. I decided to not sign here and go elsewhere. This was at the start of July. I asked for a refund of my deposit of over $400 and was told it would take a week at most. I call in a week later and was told they had switched to a new management and would give me a call back once they have an update. I would call in weekly & everytime I would be told the same thing. Fast forward to now, about a month later and I’m still being told the same thing. I tell them I need this refund urgently as I had planned to use it to pay some bills, but I’m told there’s nothing they can do & I’ll just have to wait for upper management. I hesitated to write this review as I tried to be patient, but now it’s affecting my livelihood. They had no problem taking the deposit fee but handing out my refund seems to be an issue. The lack of care & urgency shows me that this doesn’t seem to be priority for them.Yes the reviews are right, save yourself the time & money. At this point I don’t even know if I’m still getting a refund because I don’t think they do either.
This apartment is horrible!! They have roaches, the management is horrible and changes ever so often, they apparently throw away records. They will lie about putting notices on your door. They also fabricate documents. Overly priced! And unorganized! Find somewhere else to live for the money! Also they lost my files stating that I lived there and I had to pay double deposit on my new apartment, I think they tree my files away claiming they are under new management and that file is lost. By law they should have my files I just moved out less than a year ago!! UNPROFESSIONAL, RUN!!
The management or office people are VERY RUDE & unprofessional! I scheduled a view of a apartment. It smelled bad the refrigerator was in the living room by the door instead of in the kitchen. In the room it was dead roaches along the wall. Very disgusting and the appliances are very outdated! I do not recommend anyone move here. She told me the unit wasn’t ready. That’s beside the point if you don’t have a clean apartment to show case chances are your dirty and maintenance is unreliable.
Honestly this place just keep getting worst & worst. I cant wait until my least is up. I dont recommend anyone to move here, trash every where & they dont care about they residents. My bathroom is flood & kitchen ceiling leaking we been requesting for a maintenance to come look at the issues, 2 weeks later still nobody showed up, and now my ceiling is falling apart & we cant even use the bathroom outside. Just ridiculous
Just moved here all I can say is run fast talm bout upgraded apartments my bathroom got tape and a curtain on the wall they bust a hole in it never came to refix it just covered it up refrigerator door opens up the opposite way I want out of my lease and I’ve been here a month
Very rude, unprofessional and disrespectful staff. These are the first 3 words I would like to mention as I am sharing my experience here on about this complex. So my story started when I stopped by the leasing office on 1/29/21 to leave my 60 days notice to leave as I am normally supposed to do. They inform me in the office that “notices to leave” has to be done by email only.The lady at the front desk provided me with the wrong email and I am unable to sent my message that day. I go back to the office less that an hour later that day to inform the receptionist there and instead of “professionally” do her job to assist me in a “compassionate” way, I find her talking to me in an “aggressive tone” that she provided me with the correct email when she has absolutely not done so. She doesn’t want to take the time to assist me and do her job, instead they treat me like a stranger with the outermost disrespect like I am not a resident living here with rights. They said they will sent me a confirmation email once they receive the email message, but guess what “THEY NEVER DID” even thu they received the message. I come the next morning on 1/30/21 and finally, I find a nice lady in the office who finally helped me out and printed out my email message as a confirmation that they received my notice. She made 2 copies.1 in the office and 1 for me. The other apartment I am moving to called me yesterday to inform me that this office is telling them “ I have not left a proper notice “ so I came this morning to the office on 2/10/21 to see what is going on and show them my “printed” notice as a proof, and guess what, they tell me “we have not received a notice from you” Really? You must be kidding me right? Can you imagine all this dilemma and frustration over a stupid notice! Not to mention the so called manager at the facility and how rude and unprofessional she was interacting with me. She keeps talking over me the entire time and doesn’t want to give me the chance to tell her that I left a notice. Is this maturity folks? Is this how you talk to residents? Am I talking to adults here? This is ridiculous! Everybody deserves to be treated with respect, compassion and professionalism, and I have “Zero” tolerance toward “rude” people. I “pay” to live here this ain’t free apartment homes Folks so as a resident, I don’t deserve to be treated this way. Thank you for reading this but I had enough over “something” that should have been “nothing” from the first place.
From my application process to move in I have had the smoothest ride. Front office staff is amazing and very resourceful. Ebony was my leasing agent and she is phenomenal, even after my move in ebony makes sure all my needs are taken care of. The neighborhood is peaceful so far, everyone cleans up after themselves for the most part. I would recommend this place to friends and family indeed. Great place to live all around.
I just moved in to Apex and Im loving it. Ebony was my leasing agent and she is wonderful. She has a great work ethic and she went out of her way to make sure the process went smoothly. She is wonderful!
I love this place...Veronica is so professional and very sweet. Anytime I need maintenance, they come almost right away. The staff is all around awesome! This includes all of office personnel. Ive been here going on 2 years and havent had any issues.
I was interested in leasing an apartment with Apex. Just got off the phone with what I assume to be their leasing office, reviews were right. Spoke with an incredibly rude women who gave me little to no information at all. Just incredibly rude overall, will not be leasing with Apex. Website not updated to be current. Apex will miss out on multiple residents if they continue with horrible customer service.
Absolutely terrible management. I have multiple voice recordings of their management yelling at her tenants. They do not let ask for consent before entering your apartment & going as far as moving belongings. They will put awkward upcharges on your bill, when you question it they speak to you as if you dont know anything. This places needs to be sued, & we will be taking legal action after staying here for not even a full year. DO NOT SIGN A LEASE. THEY WILL SCAM YOU.
I’ve been here 2yrs now and can’t get hardly anything fixed without having to show up in the office and complain. They have 1 maintenance man but they have 24hr emergency maintenance. They do not respond to emergency maintenance messages. I have a one bedroom apartment with ONE bathroom, my toilet is backed up which it appears I’m not the only one. Why have one guy take care of all of these request “emergencies “ at that.Another issue I have is even if the work order has not been completed they will close the work order and you will have to put another one in. I’m so over this place. I’ve never had to go through this. If I could give 0 stars I would.

I have attached pictures and they speak for themselves. I signed and 12 month lease and will be working overtime just to get out ASAP. If you’re considering Apex, RECONSIDER. It’s not worth what you’re paying for. I was told BEFORE signing my lease that if I decided I did not like the apartment, I could be refunded my $300 deposit..Once I seen the condition of the apartments i advised the manager I did not wish to continue and she told me I could no longer get a refund, thus had no choice but to move in.
Not too bad, but certainly not the best service, maintenance, or interior of the apartment as far as how much sometimes break down easily. I had to call maintenance/put in a work order every month for the 5 months living there. The staff is friendly though and nice. I had a little bug problem when i first got there, but after a lil bit it was cleared up. Overall not the best but definitely not the worse. The best thing about the apartments is the interior of your apartment I loved it, but everything else 😬
They showed us a nice updated apartment with hardwood floors, updates and everything was great. They said the unit we would get might not have a fireplace, which we where okay with. Instead we got an apartment with carpet, that stunk from people smoking cigarettes and weed, bugs everywhere, no updates, and very dirty. We have also had visits from a mouse or rat. They also said stuff was missing in the application and they had to move the move in date because of it, when they had everything they needed from the start. People smoke weed all the time and it smells into our apartment, we found a knife laying on the ground outside, we have heard gunshots and we constantly hear people screaming at each other on the streets. This is NOT a safe neighborhood. The only thing that is good is the nice maintenance guys, who has had to come here several times because of broken things. Avoid this apartment complex and the area in general. Wish we could move out now, but unfortunately it states in the contact that we would have to pay until the lease ends. Would gladly pay a penalty to move out immediately.
Friendly Staff, maintenance fixes everything in a timely manner and if it’s going to take long they are upfront and honest about it.Only reason I didn’t rate 5 stars because I’ve asked multiple times for a parking spot under the carport and they told me no their system is messed upBut I now have new neighbors who said they paid for their carport spot....I’d like one ASAP as well. I have tried very hard to remain positive in regards to this situation and to not allow my frustrations to get the best of me but at some point someone needs to put their foot down.I have called the office staff over 20 times in a single day, left a few voicemails, and still received no calls back. I attempted to go to the office but each time they are closed or they are just not in. I work a full time job and have been there before the office closes, during the day, and in the morning. I understand that they can be busy people, but to miss them every time? Ridiculous. Especially when I am calling every fifteen minutes.I was originally attempting to get in touch with the office due to the fact that when I originally signed my lease, I was offered pro-rated rent of 250 off for the first two months which was not reflected in this most recent rent payment. Additionally, the online portal for paying rent is absolutely terrible and I have attempted to pay rent twice to only have it say I have NSF or to take money from my account but not have it reflect in the residents portal. What good is office staff if they never answer the phone or are there to help resolve these issues?Much like the others that have made a post on here, I have had a roach problem as well within these apartments. The pest control company that the complex provides is a waste of money, instead of requesting for them to come out I would get Bengal spray and use it before you move in. Additionally clean the entire place before you move in. There was glass in my bedroom carpet when I moved in which I verbally expressed to Raquel and the carpet itself was never cleaned...there wasn’t anything cleaned in this apartment before I moved in.Further Issues:-On my lease I am charged 10 dollars for trash services and administrative fees for the dumpster, but see my entire complex littered with candy bar wrappers and empty drink cups.-My pantry door wasn’t closing so Raquel put a work order in for me, only for maintenance to come out and replace the entire thing with a poorly painted door that still had a bit of difficulty closing.-Someone quite literally pulled the lock off of my outside storage due to how badly the door was damaged by the elements. I understand that we do not control the weather but maybe we could be better about answering that office phone so that we could better help solve the issues that residents are having?-When I was originally attempting to get more information on the unit and to get a better understanding of my move in date, the person on the other side of the phone was in such a rush to get off of the line that none of my questions where properly answered. RED FLAG.Save yourself some time, find somewhere else to live. I feel trapped in my lease and powerless to do anything until later this year when I will be able to move out.Also to whoever is about to reply: save yourself some time as well, do not give me the office number to call saying that you guys would be more than willing to help. Stop lying to everyone who leaves a review and actually work on improving your office staff and get your residents the help they are trying to get!

When I first moved in, this complex was named Las Brisas and was rebranded to Apex about six months afterwards. I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone to move in to this complex, or any complex managed by Citygate Property Group. When I moved in, some kids had gotten in and shot out all the light bulbs with an airsoft gun. Additionally, the apartment was filthy, maintenance had no idea that the office was moving in. They had to call in a cleaning lady to clean it the next day and she kind of halfheartedly mopped the floor and used my cleaning supplies to do so. During the time I lived there, my car was vandalized three times. Management was always sympathetic on the phone, but overall didnt actually care. First, someone shot out my back window with an airsoft gun. Second, someone keyed my car front to back. A few weeks later, someone took a key and drew the number 4 on the hood of my car.This complex is absolutely full of roaches. Nothing the pest control guy did could fix it. It takes maintenance literal months to fix anything. There were issues from when we moved in that didnt get addressed until almost a year later. In the height of summer 2018, the AC went out and we went the entire month of June without AC. There was a roof leak in the second bedroom that took almost four months to get resolved. Unacceptable.When I moved out in June 2019, the complex sent my account to collections within two weeks, claiming missed rent, late fees, utilities, and damages. A year later, I was able to get their accountant, who admitted they were still cleaning up messes from the apartment manager that was there when I left, to remove the missed rent and late fees thanks to my receipt for the last months rent. I never dispute utilities, but I do dispute $200 for damages. The only itemized list of damages (which is required by law) was $150 for holes and $50 for damage. That is completely unacceptable. The only holes in the entire apartment were from hanging two blackout curtains in the master bedroom.If you like to have any personality in your apartment by hanging pictures or curtains, or if you want a roach free existence, or if you want maintenance that doesnt take four months to fix a roof leak, stay far, far away from Apex Apartments.Update: The office response below states that Ive never been a resident. I lived on the third floor of building 5, in apartment 505 from June 2017 to June 2019. I can provide proof including my lease from 2017 and receipts from their automated rent paying system, that I lived there if anyone should desire. They are trying to delegitimize reviews that make them look bad because they are still cleaning up messes from prior apartment managers.

I wish I could give this place less than one star. Please, dont move here and dont listen to the management when they reply and say I didnt voice my concerns because Oh Have I!The management is very rude, unorganized, and unprofessional. I moved to TX from IL and found this place via apartments.com when I visited everything was fine but it was under different management at the time. My move out process was from hell.Let me list all the things that went wrong during my leasing period.Woken up to SWAT and Dallas police at 4am. Called the office the next morning they tried to lie and say that they didn’t know about the event at all. Two minutes later “Oh I found the report about it”Walls so thin you could hear someone on the phone in their living room and everybody else in your building and the ppl who argue and fight in the parking lot.When I applied I was told my deposit was one amount and then on the day of move in had to pay more and the charge was added as Misc. Charge and not a deposit Charge.I was shown an upgraded model only to be first placed into a unit that wasnt upgraded and had to go back and redo all the leasing paperwork to a unit that was upgraded.Received a call from someone in the office after living there for almost 7 months asking if I was still interested in moving to the apartment complex.23 days prior to my move out I got a rude call from someone in the office asking did I move out already. My move out date wasnt till closer till the end of the month. I submitted almost a 90 day notice for my move out date. Next day, I went to the office because I was worried they were leasing my apartment while I was still living there. The lady wouldnt even let me in the door and stated “Yes, it was me who called. We just saw a lot of moving trucks and young girls like you tend to move out and not return your keys” Im not young, and this isnt my first time moving out an apt. and wouldnt want these keys if $1000 was attached to it.I came into the office and spoke with Veronica to confirm she would be in the office the next day to do my move out walk through. Next day she wasnt there and the lady who was there gave me this death stare of not wanting to help until she noticed my mother was with me and her whole mood changed.I authorized my mother to go the next day and do the walk through after Veronica not being in the office prior day. My mother had to raise her voice in order for Veronica to do the walk through because she was busy with “end of month reporting” all while there were four other employees who could have been in the office for 10 mins.I went to pay my last water and sewage bill as instructed in the portal. My account is still messed up, late charges that were misapplied, and my deposit being used to cover incorrect charges. I called and one person answered (wasnt rude) and then someone else gets on the phone and says Veronica is going to call you back. She was supposed to call me last week. I was trying to ask when she would call me back only to cut me off and say she is going to call you back. Can you confirm your phone number is still…I hung up, only do business in person with these ppl.All in all, if you like chaos by all means this is the perfect place! Beware they are nice when you’re trying to move in but a 180 once moved in or in need of assistance.
I want give them zero stars when me and my brother first moved in are roaches inside of the refrigerator and the cabinet swear fealty and the managers and supervisors are very rude I tried to pay my rent on the 1st and the office was closed so I went the next day and the office was still closed and I went the day after that and they say they fired everybody so I had to take my whole money order back cuz they said they dont take money orders but when I paid my bill the bill before I paid with a money order now they only do online payments and when I paid online the manager lady wants to evict us and its not our fault that their offices are closed and they fired all the staff this is unprofessional and if I could I would love to call corporate on these apartments
These apartments look great they’ve been newly renovated. But the staff is unknown to certain things that that should already be aware of. A new employee wasn’t trained and tried to help me and my fiancé get an apartment. She implied that we’d get an $50 money order each for the application fee to hold the appointment for us. Yet, the manager over her yelled at her that she won’t accept them. Her words exactly, “ What is that, I ain’t taking that. I ain’t taking that, oh no, oh no. I’m sure not. No ma’am. I’m sure not, sorry. But no.” Is that lady’s exact words. Very Unprofessional, Rude and disrespectfully ghetto.👌But the bright side is the apartments look pretty good.
I literally just moved in this week and the first night find roaches in my apt, from a stainless steel roach motel. And when I tell the office staff my concerns they REALLY seem not too care, but before this, the apt that was to be held for me was given away and all the could say was SORRY I am a person that will hold you at your words, but will give you HELL if you dont hold up your end of the bargain... Office staff included. I WILL BE REFERRING ANYONE TO THIS PROPERTY... RUN LIKE AS FAST AS YOU CAN. BECAUSE I DONT SEE THIS SITUATION GETTING ANY BETTER.
I’d put a zero if I could. We payed $1079.64 for our 1 bedroom here and was given a receipt and all. Just to have the rent office tell us that we didn’t pay it and that they don’t know where the money went”that’s on your bank”.(though we have the bank statement) They are making us pay a SECOND RENT THIS MONTH and on top of that another THOUSAND BY THE 3rd for next month. They are being very rude about it and I have children so getting evicted isn’t a choice for me. It feels as if we are being taken advantage of and we truly need advice on what to do. I tried to handle it before making this review but I feel others should know about this before considering this place.
I have nothing positive to say about this complex. I am not salty and just making bad remarks. I have stayed through the term of my lease and can not wait to move. Alway always dirty. Trash is a definite issue. It piles up around the dumpster constantly. The laundry facility has been consistently dirty. See pics below. Office/maintenance always act friendly and concerned but you can guarantee once your call or conversation is over... Thats it. Nothing is going to happen. I was given in writing on my lease the option to move to a larger unit at no charge. That was not honored and the staff was asked about it on at least 4 different occassions. If you have any other option. I would definitely choose the other one. Attached is photos taken over the course of a week of the laundry center. Not a one time issue.

Im living there, if there is (-5) stars rating i would give them, bad management, the appartment has alot of problems, Ac is not working and it is 104°, very bad old fridge, i asked them till now 4 times to fix the Ac or the fidge, they do no thing, if it is the last day of my life i wont renew my lease which im counting the days to git rid of that hell .Update:After two weeks they came and fix the ac which is now not working and nobody cares about that, they just reply the reviews here but on the real they do no thing, my fridge is still not working, my ac still not working, imagine you live in a place in August without Ac, because a careless managment, and careless poeple, imagine all these work orders to fix Ac and fridge in August the most hot month in the year.
So it’s been about a month and while the apartment itself is not bad I enjoy the up to date appliances and the look of the apartment itself the roaches are making this place unlivable. At first I saw them around doors or a window and thought nothing of it I sprayed natural remedies like peppermint oil and other things to keep them away as well as raid. But the roaches have persisted i wake up and find one or two in the same area but the final straw was seeing a roach come out of my refrigerator this morning. As well as two others around the oven area. This is embarrassing

Ive been living here for a little more than a year. When Ive had issues with plumbing or ac issues the office is always quick to fix it. Veronica is always quick to answer any and all questions.
I was lied @1st by Robin! Was told I there was w/d connection- and there was not! Dis washer issue! Not resolved! Other than than that- couple of a new management but no problems at all! Its very quit and cops are alywas monitoring!
If I could give a 0 star I would. I moved in, june of 2019 and within 3 days I noticed the apartment was infested with roaches, the were water marks in the wall which showed signs of leakage and the carpet was really old . I also noticed I was not given any form to fill out upon moving in and the girl at the front desk could not even find my application .there were literally roaches in the refrigerator under all the sinks and roaches coming from the vents. I went to the office to complain and the then manager said he sprayed- he should have just left the roaches alone because they got worse, to the point where I would feel the roaches crawling on me as I slept, its like they had a nest in the carpets. I called my ex (then boyfriend)and told him to withdraw the money for the rent before the bank pulled it out of his account ( in the Texas you can not withhold rent) you can only repair and deduct but I did not care. I took a video of the roaches, behind the refrigerator there was a whole family of them . my ex was in Boston at the time . marcus hines the then assistant manager gave very misleading information to my ex matter of fact the manager did not even know what our leasing terms were did not care about the roaches only cared about the money. Also Marcus Hines took a money order of $200 from my ex and I the day we toured the apartment, and said he could secure a spot for us .....LIES!!!! when my ex and I returned we were shown a completely different apartment with completely different pricing . I guess Marcus was messing with the ledger because I recall him saying he could not be seen talking to prospective tenants which I did not understand why. Marcus was very charismatic so I assumed he knew what he was doing. I did not stay at the apex for a month I moved out because the noise, drugs, and theft was too much . Recently I noticed I had a collections account of $3,755 from the apex, I called the apex and the representative tells me she is seeing I owe $2030. Im confused which one is it. Anyways do not move here everything about The Apex is crooked you can tell because they constantly change management and staff.i still have the video of the roach infestation if any would like to see it for themselves I can show them. I wish there was a way to post videos on here.
I have lived here for 2 years. The layout of the apartments are awesome. Stainless steele appliances. I actually loved my apartment when i first moved in. It was quiet and all my neighbors were working class. In the last year it has went down. When i moved in.. You rarely seen any trash on property. There used too be grass everywhere. Now there are non working trashy tenants and people in and out of doors all times of the day and night. There is limited visitor parking which is filled up by 3 pm daily and its the same cars in the visitors. My guest have gotten towed more than 5 times. I have complained to the old and new management nothing was done. So if you move here and dont have any visitors and like living around bums.. This is the perfect place for you!!!
Terrible...their were Roches everywhere the day I moved in. I got rid of them spending my own money on traps. The main sewage line for my building constantly backs up so no one in the building could flush their toilet on several occasions. Management just didnt care. Had to go to 7/11 to use the rest room. Not the place to live......
Desmond was awesome he greeted as I entered the building with the most glorious smile offered us beverages and snacks and a well dresser may I add, showed us a beautiful apartment, I really appreciate Desmond hospitality in making me feel welcomed the property is well kept and if your looking for a apartment, you should come on down an apply with him asap!
I moved over here in May, I really was blindsided. Listen to the reviews!!! These people are slum lords. They fix NOTHING!!! There is mold currently in my apartment, the ceiling is leaking. I cant even get them to come over and fix simple stuff. When you talk to the manager she just writes it off like its nothing major. Im so over it!! Cant wait until my lease is up. Im really considering just breaking it.
Ill try to give the benefit of the doubt as much as I can. People here have left 1 star reviews, but as a former realtor, I know that many people have unrealistic expectations on their budget.Ive been here since January and there were some problems, but they were prompt when getting the work orders done and items repaired.They have been making some updates which shows they are trying. The apartment unit was nicely done with hardwood flooring, granite counter tops, and included a stainless steel fridge. They have been doing some work on the outside too. The outside of the building has been repainted and the lot has been repaved.**For pest/roach complainers** Guys, this is Texas. The pest control service is helpful, but no apartment building service is going to do the trick. You need to have your own unit personally handled by a professional if you care to stop all bugs. Home treatments like spray and boric acid have helped me a lot too. The building is from the 70s. It takes more work to keep pests out.The complaints...Half the washers in the laundry center are broken and havent been fixed since I moved in. ***They have been fixed since leaving review***Although they cant control this all the time, there are issues with some theft of packages. I wish they would leave the exit gates locked so people need to enter and leave by vehicle or wait for a vehicle to open the gate. Im in the first building, so walkers can quickly run in, take my packages, and leave.A few more security cameras would help. There are some people that dont live here hanging out and asking people for money, but if you call security after hours, they will get rid of them.All in all, if you are a young professional thats just looking for a place to sleep and wind down after working multiple jobs like me and are on a low budget, this place will probably satisfy you.
Terrible Terrible apartment complex! The trash is always full! There is never any parking, especially since they added carport parking which you have to pay for monthly when there was already not enough parking! Very loud and inconsiderate neighbors, who smoke and drink in the breezeway all hours of the day and night! The pool is never clean and when it is clean kids go and swim at midnight! We lived there for 2 years and no updates were ever done to our apartment. Fights all the time outside and the “Security” is only there once or twice a week! The gate to the complex never works so homeless people are always hanging around and even ask for money! Super uncomfortable as this was my home! Also maintenance never came in a timely matter but would always be standing around the complex talking. Kids always vandalizing the mail boxes and looking through them stealing peoples mail. I really liked the apartments when I moved in but the people they let live there are trash and the office does not care. Please do not move here!
Went on a tour with Desmond at Apex he was extremely detailed and honest. I love the specious floor plans and walk-in closets !!! Thinking about making this community my home thanks Desmond.

Lets see. Where do I start. How about the fact that I complained about my refrigerators freezer door coming open by itself and causing my food to thaw, over and over and over. And they kept saying there was nothing wrong with it. Until finally one of the maintenance people didnt know he was supposed to say that and he fixed it. It was fine after that.How about the fact that the dishwasher has never worked well and they made me wait several months to fix it, leaving the remains of the garbage disposal in the bottom of it to attract vermin.Now the a/c is broken and they wont fix it. Since it is 100 degrees these days, this is a serious problem.Then there is the ghetto environment. Other tenants play their car radios at top volume when coming or going. Neighbors play their stereos so loudly that the bass almost shakes the walls.The floors are new and are made with the laminate flooring made by the Chinese company that has gone out of business after being sued by hundreds of people made sick from the off gassing of formaldehyde from their product. So, be prepared to be made quite ill.This off-gassing increases with the heat, so expect to be really ill when they refuse to fix the air-conditioning.Oh, lets not forget the occasional eviction notice posted on your door-by mistake. But, when your want to discuss it, nobody will call you back, even after you have gotten evidence from your bank that they did deposit your check and when.I really cant continue this list as I am so nauseated from the fumes from the toxic flooring. IT was bad enough when the a/c still worked but now it is unbearable.

I put in an inquiry about apartment and now I have three emails telling me to do my application and pay my deposit. I haven’t seen the apartment, seen anyone in the office, haven’t even spoken on the phone to anyone. Based on these reviews, I feel bad for the workers or new office team that has to clean up thisMess. I wish the parent company of complexes like this would stop being so money hungry robbing from the working lower and middle class. This is sad. I’ll never put myself in a situation to live like this because it is stressful. To any current residents I wish you all the best of luck and hope you never have to experience any living conditions like these again. Tooo many complaints about the same thing and I know they not lying.
Do not move here. I signed a lease here and the day I signed the front office was very unorganized. I waited like 3 hours after my schedule time to sign my lease. The cable guy came an hour later and I had to reschedule because they didn’t have the paperwork together. Everyone was running around like chickens with their heads cut off. My keys weren’t even cut for the apartment. They stated they did a walk-through before I moved in. Only for me to open the door and find no refrigerator in the apartment. They had to go get a fridge from a different apartment just to put in mines. How could you do a walk-through and just not notice a refrigerator is missing.The walls hadn’t been painted. My bathroom draws broke the minute I opened them everything was a disaster. We stay upstairs there are soft spots while walking through the apartment as if the floor is about to fall in. A week after moving in we had a maintenance guy come knocking on the door late at night stating that there was water leaking from my bathroom to the apartments down stairs. I honestly can’t wait until the lease is up.
SO DISAPPOINTED. First, the good - it is inexpensive and the layout of the rooms is very nice. I was surprised how large the living and dining room is for that square footage. The bad - the apartment was in poor condition - totally unlike the one shown to them - a classic bait and switch. The floors, which could look very nice, are heavily scratched and covered in paint rubs from previous tenants, and the complex said they will not do anything about it - that its not a necessity. The apartment was dirty at move in and absolutely filthy on the porches. In the first month, theyve had problems with closet doors falling off, a large vent falling on their head, sockets sparking and unusable, etc. It took a long time to get a response to get these fixed. Neighbors hang out front with loud booming music and screaming at kids, smoking cigarettes/weed, staying in the way of cars with hoverboards and bikes. The gates rarely work to allow guests in and once weve been stuck in where 2 of the 3 gates were non-functioning. POORLY run complex!! Its really disappointing since the apartments could be so cute and the pool area is nice. Its in a nice neighborhood and they could do a better job managing it to make this a great place to live.
This place is straight garbage. I cant wait to leave. One of the maintenance guys tried to flirt with my girlfriend last night so I asked him was it true and he told me no, as any cheating guy would, with a mini smirk on his face as I walked off. No yelling, no threats, no NOTHING. Not even 30 minutes later I get a violation because apparently I yelled at this dude and made threats...with Jose telling me hes married and crap. Its 2016 people are bold nowadays, but even so I got crapped on because I asked a question. Dont come here! its full of deaths, favoritism, and lame ass maintenance service. Ive been here for 7 months and my A/C STILL isnt working. Horrible...

I woke up to get ready for a very important meeting at 6:30 a.m. to find that there is no hot water. I let the water run for an hour and still no hot water. Horrible....yet another reason for you to NOT move here! This happens regularly and those times, there is NO water at all!

My daughter moved to Apex Apartments almost a month ago. The first time I came to visit and bring here a car load of her things, I was disgusted. Her apartment looked like it hadnt been lived in, in years. It was full of roaches. The ceiling on the balcony was falling down. It smelled horrible. Come to find out, they never showed her the apartment prior to her moving in. To me, thats a bad sign. The parking is horrible over there. I really wish she had never moved there. If I could give you zero stars, I would!! Cannot believe the condition that the apartment was in when I saw it.

DO NOT MOVE THERE!!!! This place is the worst place I have ever lived in. Roach and bed bug infested and the bathroom is molded, water shoots out from the side of the shower all over the bathroom floor and all they do is paint over the mold and patch over the problem instead of fixing it. Im so sick of it, I stopped putting in request for repairs. When pest control comes out, its like bate to bugs, even more come. Had thrown away a brand new bed and couch because of the infestation. Drive by and check it out for yourself, furniture is always sitting next to the dumpsters, apparently I wasnt the only one who had been attacked by the bugs. They dont ever answer the phone. I would not let a pig live in a place like that. DO NOT MOVE THERE!!!!! I REPEAT... DO NOT MOVE THERE!!!!!My lease ends In February 2019, trust me guys. THIS IS THE TRUTH...

My reason for giving 5 stars....Now I must say, I am a firm believer of posting reviews and if all this wasn’t so I wouldn’t post it.... I just moved in and I have ONLY been her for 3 days... I address the issue to the lead maintenance (Jose)that I was having and he came in the apartment looked over everything and within 5/10 mins Fernando/Edgar was there... my oven door wasn’t closing, no hot water was coming out kitchen faucet, tub was clogged, light fixtures in dining room wasn’t working, 2 blinds in sunroom wasn’t opening or closing, my sunroom slide doors wasn’t locking, AND dish washer wasn’t running... these things are maybe small to some people but HUGE to me.... I have to say all these things were FIXED for me !!! Parts were order for a few things but overall I’m definitely satisfied.... and I have read a lot of reviews before I moved in even though they weren’t the best but i decided to give them a try just to see if things have changed and IT HAS....I would recommend anyone to move here!! There is a problem with trash over flowing from dumpsters and I did see a few roaches but it’s nothing that a fogger will not fix...AND the MAINTENANCE TEAM we’re AWESOME!! AWESOME!! AWWSOME!!. last but least Alyrica (leasing agent)and Mrs Ann-(Assistant Mgr) made me feel comfortable and was attentive to all my needs.... I just want to say Thanks to all because I have never experienced such a group of people who could come together as a TEAM and make apartment living a good choice.... Thanks to all and God bless!!
THIS WAS THE WORST PLACE TO STAY! I STAYED HERE FOR ALL OF 2 or 3 WEEKS BECAUSE OF HOW BAD THE APARTMENT HAD ROACHES! I COULDNT GET CABLE OR INTERNET SERVICE IN MY APARTMENT AND THE FRONT OFFICE DIDNT CARE! EVERYTIME MY AIR CAME ON, IT SMELLED LIKE SOMETHING DIED IN THE VENTS! THEYRE A BUNCH OF GET OVERS AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND MOVING IN THESE AT ALL!!
Welp. wont be moving here. I have a genuine fear of insects, especially roaches....there are TOO many complaints about roaches so I know everyone isnt lying. I was literally about to schedule a viewing today.:(
I put in a work order request on Thursday stating that my AC was broken and also needed a new filter. IN AUGUST!!!!! On Tuesday I received a text stating my work order had been completed but, it had not been completed and Im STILL WAITING!!!!
They can’t even answer the phone called 4xs and was hung up on and called back and was sent to Vm! Will not be looking to move here.

DO NOT MOVE HERE ! They will charge you for trash pick up, but the complex is nasty people leave trash everywhere. There is mold in the bathrooms because the ceiling leaks.They will charge for pest control, but there are roaches everywhere!! They will not fix anything you ask them to, they will send someone in to rig it! The staff is rude and unprofessional! DO NOT MOVE HERE! It may seem nice but its NOT !
The management in this complex is terrible. There has been 3 new management since staying here and they make it extremely difficult to get things done. They cheated me 45 days out of my contract and keep trying to extend my move out day to get me to pay more money! This place is a hot mess, unprofessional, sorry and inconsiderate. Also they struggle with roaches! Run for your life!
Horrible staff. I went in for information as I am looking to move soon. Walked- in and office was open. I was not helped because the person there who didn’t even come to the door stated office was closed, shouted from another room in office. I quickly said “you close at 6pm” bc that is what the website says 9-6pm. She said “no we close at 5pm” so o just left. I was very disappointed bc I had to rush to get there to make it on time. Definitely not coming back to this complex very bad impression!
Ok so MY experience with these apartments. I applied yesterday I was told I would receive a call TODAY early or late afternoon. I didn’t receive ANY call. But at 1:32pm I received an email stating to pay my rent for the apartment I chose. So I called the first time around 2 something. I was told by the leasing agent that she couldn’t access the system and tell me if I was approved or not and the manager was on property IN THE POURING RAIN and he’ll call me back. Ok so I called two hours later and then all of a sudden the leasing agent can access the system and tells me my application was denied due to my credit and I needed to bring my ss card which I stated I didn’t have if have to go apply for one which is hard since I work from morning until night EVERYDAY including the weekends. So then she said speak to the manager which he still wasn’t in the office. So I called the sister property and the sister property contacted the manager and the manager at 5:20pm said he’ll call me. Well it’s 7:03pm right now and I NEVER received a call back from the manager. I also told the manager BEFORE I applied over the phone and in person that I have ZERO credit! And if I was told I needed my ss card to apply I would’ve not wasted my $200 and the trip out there because I KNEW I didn’t have it on me. I really had my heart set on this apartment and to be let down is horrible no phone call no explanation no nothing. And now I’m out of $200 and no place to stay. If they would’ve just be HONEST instead of saying oh yea it’s fine the most we’ll ask for is an extra $150 admin fee for the bad credit or no credit that’s it. I just feel lied to and taken advantage of. When all I wanted was the nice apartment I had my heart set on. Or at the very least an explanation and I got neither. Thanks Apex for letting me down.

Location is great!! Convenient to shopping, dining, and entertainment. The homes are renovated with black appliances with stainless steel finish, hardwood vinyl flooring. Woo hoo!

My wife and I have lived here for almost 3 years. When we first moved in the place was quiet and though not the nicest apartments they were decent for the price. In the last year the apartment complex has gone down hill. Theyve switched owners several times and each time front desk service has improved but maintenance has gotten worse. We recently had one of their maintenance people move in directly next door to us. They constantly have loud music playing so loud that its hard to hear our tv in the front room. Trying to get anything fixed is a chore, my wife and I both work from home and we only ask 24 hour notice before they come in the apartment so she can go in and I can change my schedule for the day but they constantly just come whenever they want and then get mad if were working and they cant enter. Weve had scratches and wear marks on the floor since we moved in weve tried to have them fixed several times but last time we had someone come out they said its only cosmetic were not going to fix it Roaches are horrible we were having their people come in and spray for awhile but it just increased the problems. Our lease is up in September and I cant wait to move!
They never fix anything they will tell you they gone put and order in but they never come . My daughter Thanksgiving dinner. Spoiled because the havent fixed the fridge. Last place on this earth to move too.
Formally Family Tree ApartmentsThese apartments as well as the neighborhood has nothing but disrespectfuland ignorant individuals, and to be frank, is over flowing with hood rats and thugs.It is not a place to have and or bring up a family. I have no idea what the apartment owners and managers are trying to play at but I what they are now charging for these apartments is NOT worth it. Sure they replaced all the appliances and carpet but good luck getting anything fixed that needs to be, and even if you do happen to get it fixed, it will only be a couple of weeks before you are calling about the same problem.Believe me when I say its like putting a bandaid and a gash that seriously needs stitches.
I am looking at the reviews and yes, yes, yes they are all TRUE. I lived there when it was Las Brisas. I lived there 15 months and the management changed 4 times because of the violations and fixtures that needed done to be up to code. I didnt move in the apartment I was shown. The nicer ones were near the front. When I signed my lease, the took me all the way to the back. The hardwood floors are decals. The granite counters are decals and molded walls, rot dried cabinets and and dead roaches were painted over. The neighbors sit in the stairwell and drink the night away and play cards, and unattended kids run rampant thru the property. Now this is Apex, and nothing has changed.

Reading the post from tenants, I agree with alot of things starting with the roaches no matter what I put down they keep coming and pest control is a joke they put one squirt of that sugar water under the kitchen cabinet then leave smh also Trash if Im paying a admin fee of 3.00 on top of trash fees I expect for it to be clean the trash stinks and Constantly over flowing oh did I mention the trash man picks up the trash at 12,1,2 in the morning when people are sleeping!! Now Im also upset about the fee of 4.95 we have to pay to pay our rent, I dont think its fare that city gate is putting their merchant processing fees off on the tenants!! I have a list of things to say but for now Im done these apartments are nasty and the staff isnt too welcoming now that kerry is gone I will not be renewing my lease I rather sleep on the streets, and I havent forgot how Apex let me go without air in 3 digit temp arguing with me that my air works with a infant there yes u finally finally brought a window unit 5 months later no I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone else

Crime, theft, harassment, saftey issues, etc.When i first moved in, the apartment was still covered in saw dust and wood particles and there was scratches all over the floor throughout the apartment, paint splatter all over the floor, the appliances, etc. And nothing was cleaned up. I had to clean it myself.I have had to place over 25+ work orders that had not been completed but keep being marked as complete. Kitchen drawers and bathroom drawers falling off and falling off track. Kitchen sink exploding. Dishwasher has NEVER worked from day 1. They dont have 24 hour maintenance so good luck with that.None of the laundry units work, they just push around dirty water and do not clean your clothes.The complex is flooded with garbage. The grass behind my patio is covered in weed wrappers, beer bottles, batteries, charcoal rocks, food, trash bags, glass, broken furniture, etc. None of these residents respect the complex or their neighbors. That is a safety concern because i have a service animal that is out there DAILY.My partner and i are both females and we are harrassed DAILY by male residents and their guests and they are very rude and inappropriate. They stare and cat call us anytime we walk out of our apartment, to be honest i dont feel safe or comfortable. There are random people that come in here that do not live here and get mad when you refuse to put the code in for them. There are residents above us who are as loud as sasquatch. There are 14 people flooded around the stairwells and entry ways at night smoking weed and doing drugs and have cases of beer that they throw in the grass. No respect at all.On top of that, Paint/Chemical fumes from workers re-doing apartments comes through our vents making us extremely sick. And all the office had to say is yeah, it always goes through the vents, sorry. Neighbors above us smoke weed 24/7 and it comes through our vents making our apartment stink like skunk and drugs. Of course there has been no resolutions to ANY issues.I have about 6 1/2 months left in my lease and tbh, im most likely gonna break it if this situation isnt resolved.AND YES, the City of Dallas will be contacted on ALL of these issues. Hopefully they will shut this complex DOWN.

These apartments are so unorganized because no one ever knows what the next person is doing with anyone or whats going on especially since they had to let go of one of their own staff members its like they have no clue just frustrated with them at this point they lie about calling you back and they literally NEVER answer the phones they lead you to believe anything especially when they want you off the phone or out the office so they can continue to not answer phones
My name is Tabitha Mitchell and I just received a letter stating my rent is increasing by $100! My lease is up on January 31st 2019 and I am just now receiving a letter that is telling me that my rent is going to go up $100! That does not include water or my carport parking or any upgrades!!! This does not give me enough time to look for another apartment so that I can move! I am so angry with Apex Apartments especially with their new manager Renee who doesnt return phone calls at all and the maintenance team who closes work orders without completing them! The entire property has went completely down the trash cans and the community is always nasty, I have never seen our courtesy Patrol and theres always constant arguing and fighting between midnight and 2 a.m. in the morning and theres no one to report it to. The front office simply doesnt care! I cant even get maintenance to fix my light above my stove! Apex used to be a great property now it has went completely down hill and I feel they have increased my rent on such a way as a form of retaliation for all my complaints! I even asked if they could paint my countertops in my kitchen because they have not been painted in the four years that Ive lived here and I get a notice that my rent is going to go up $100.... But of course my counter tops still have not been painted ! I have called citygate property and left messages for someone to call me back and of course no one is calling me back so I can understand why Renee doesnt call me back hes just following protocol . You know what Apex, you have won and forget about my 4 year history of paying my rent on time. I am leaving!-----------------------------------------------12/24/2018Ok, I had my over the phone meeting with Lola (City Gate Properties). She basically offered me to leave since I am so unhappy with my management team. But of course that is not feasible since Ive only been given to Janaury 31st, 2019 to find another apartment. Its amazing how I have live in this community for so long and my options are to either deal with poor management and $100 increase in my rent and poor maintenance or to leave. The conversation with Lola quickly started off on the wrong foot because she felt my complaints were actually insults toward her management team. I mean the entire purpose of me contacting City Gate was to complain about my rent going up so high (Which I have never seen this type of increase in my life), management, and maintenance! I sent her a detail email of my complaint and was forced to send another email detailing our conversation of the work I want done...REALLY!!! WHO DOES THAT! I asked her several times why she could not just simply respond to the email I sent her. Im not stupid. I understand why she chose to handle it this way. That way it would be less responsibility on her part because Ms. Lola still did not respond completely to the email that she insisted so on so emphatically....Go Figure, huh? Anyway, bottom line...I have to pay the $100 increase for another year. Management is still going to be rude and unhelpful & maintenance is going to work what they choose to work and the rest is good luck to the rest of us who have maintenance problems. Now, its time to contact the Tenants Association to get their take on the matter. I will keep you guys posted on my journey...stay tuned!
Well this is my second year living in this complex at the beginning it was horrible, butit does not have nothing to do with the staff or the management, its the people that live in here, really bad people... the staff its getting way better also the complex...the girl in the front desk karla shes awesome very professional, respectful, helpful and very nice, also Israel one of the maintenance tech is awesome really fast and so helpful...so thanks and congrats with the improval...!!!
The apartment we were shown and the one we actually moved in were completely different in terms of quality and cleanliness. Some things look good in pictures but are cheaply made and dont function well (dirty wooden cabinets and cheap flooring). Closet and shower doors were always breaking and the dishwasher never worked. The living room was huge but other than that it was horrible. The patio was cracked, BUGS were a big problem especially roaches in the kitchen behind the stove, really makes you lose your appetite. No consequences for not picking up dog poop so it was everywhere and stunk as soon as you walk out your door. Unfortunately our lease was 6 months, I think we made it 5 before could absolutely not take it anymore.

I was initially very happy with my apartment and experience with Apex (formerly Las Brisas when I moved in). But after a few months my a/c consistently stoped working and the roaches got worse despite cleanliness and pest control; i stopped inviting people over. My door was initially difficult to open but when maintenance fixed it, it failed to remain closed unless locked. I put in 2 additional repair request only to have them marked complete without anyone even stopping by. I had an incident with a guest leaving while i was out. The guest requested the front office to lock the door to which they advised my guest to have me call in to make the request. I did so only to be rudely interrogated and basically told it was not their responsibility and the issue with the door would be investigated. Finally, I gave adequate notice of my intent to move out after being on a month to month lease. I was locked out of my online account to pay rent prematurely and did not receive a final invoice after multiple request post move out; each time I was instructed not to worry and that it would be taken care of (eventually they stopped answering/returning my calls). This went on for almost a month before I decided to relax only to get a call from a collections agency months later demanding 3x what shouldve been owed. I call Apex for an explanation, they inform me theyre under new management and I shouldve gotten the final bill in the mail months prior, however they didnt even have my new address on file so that was impossible. It was another week of back and forths, furious emails and loads of screenshots to validate the aforementioned get finally settle things.
Im tired of these apartments dont let the nice renovations fool you! people are so Gettoh you can hear them playing loud music in their cars. Parking is horrible i have seen other apartments be strict about parking for residents, here they use lame excuses to why i cant find a parking spot close to my unit. I cant wait for my lease to be over im at the point to where i might break it and look for something better. Do NOT move here!! Look for something better.

I been here 3 years and I honestly can say I dont like this new management. Management before would keep us updated on everything via email or text. Also is like if they are not well organized.
Playground is always covered in dog poop, and there crack head always roaming around
Maintenance is very bad... nothing gets fixed
The place is not clean, you go around smelling drugs everywhere, the biggest garbage at the door, and bad services.
The ac hasn’t been workin for so long and we complained multiple times but the management is honestly horrible and it’s is so hot here . The service is so bad and they never listen to us ..... very bad complex
