We’ve been living in the community for a few months now. The surrounding area feels safe, clean, and quiet. My dog absolutely loves the gated quarter mile dog park/trail. The community areas are always in pristine condition and the pool is exceptionally beautiful. It’s large and spacious with areas to lounge, sunbathe, and even swim laps! Above all, my favorite part is the maintenance and management team; They respond almost immediately even to the smallest of requests. I’m so lucky to call this complex my home and hope to be able to stay for many years to come.
I have lived at Alta Design District for 3 years now. I have loved my time here and can’t imagine having lived anywhere else. Beyond the location and all there is to offer in the Design District, it is close to everything great in Dallas while still being in its own unique area. The apartments are beautiful and the complex is well maintained. The staff are always friendly and host so many fun events!! The gym was recently redone and my room mate and I absolutely love the pool. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to live in Dallas.
I absolutely love my apartment. We recently renewed our lease. The downtown skyline from the patio is beautiful. Whenever we reach out to Jennifer, Amanda, or the maintenance crew, they are very quick to respond and resolve the issue. Great place to live.
Long Post Alert: The transition to the Alta Design District was very smooth. I was working for a news station and searching for a new job. My significant other found a job in the Dallas area and moved to the Alta Design District first and I was still living in another city two hours away. Well, they say you save the best for last, and as much as I wanted to move right along to Dallas and start my new life, I knew that patience was a virtue. Once I landed my new opportunity, I got in touch with Amanda and she was so helpful!! Ive never experienced a move-in transition that was so smooth and Id like to thank Amanda and the entire team for their professionalism, authenticity, and most importantly their kindness. They quickly helped me go through the process of adding my name to the lease with my significant other and I honestly had no issues. A lot of people arent very kind in this world and to work with such an incredible team of leasing agents who are so kind, thoughtful, helpful, and honest is a huge plus in my book. Being from Chicago where the cost of living is extremely high, the affordability here is excellent, my loft-style apartment is extremely spacious, and maintenance is always available and updating the property (They recently hired a team to repaint the walls in the hallways and our front doors). The amenities: gym room, pool area, downstairs courtyard area, and my favorite, the rooftop are amazing and I love it!! Even the workspace in the clubhouse with the coffee machine, makes me feel like Im at a coffee shop when I need somewhere else to work remotely. Every part of the Alta Design District gives me a different feel. Sometimes I get homesick and at the Alta Design District, I feel at home, while away from home. Im grateful for my new home and Im glad that Im happy with my choice.I highly recommend this style of living to anyone. the Alta Design District is near restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and is just overall a beautiful place to live, especially if youre an animal lover. =) This is the place to be, dont miss out on your chance to call this place home too.
Amanda and Jennifer so far have helped us out during our first year staying here. We love the amenities and the people weve met while hanging at the pool and on the rooftop.I do suggest having some sort of cameras in the parking garage though to curtail those residents who like to speed through.otherwise, its a great place to locate and reside!
I’m a new resident and the move in process was seamless, thanks to Jennifer and her team! The interiors of the apartment are updated and very modern. I’m loving here so far!
Jennifer is a great employee who’s helped me since the beginning. Alta design district is clean and takes care of their residents. Moving in is a pain, so hire movers if you can, but that’s literally the only complaint I could think of. It’s the first time I’ve ever renewed a lease and I’m so happy I did.
I stopped by this complex in hopes to find an apartment. The layout of the apartments were spacious, and modern. The entire building seemed to be very well maintained. I especially enjoyed the tour thanks to the leasing agent, who was very kind, and patient in answering all the questions and concerns that I had. She was very professional, and was very helpful in going through with the floor plans with me. I would definitely recommend checking these apartments out if you are looking for a new home. The entire staff seemed very friendly & happy to be there. Absolutely a wonderful vibe on that property!!
The amenities at Alta Design District are great, especially the pool and rooftop deck overlooking downtown Dallas.I’m so happy that I chose to live here. The location is stellar: walking distance to the Katy Trail, American Airlines Center, and all of the restaurants and bars in the Design District. The staff is so nice and welcoming, especially Jennifer in the leasing center. So kind and patient.
Communication here is great! Maintenance gets done within a reasonable time frame. Complaints are taking seriously and also addressed. Jennifer in the office will do all she can do to make residents happy.
I really recommend this complex to anyone in the midst of their apartment search. Aiko was so helpful and responsive during the onboarding process. It has been really nice living here thus far.
Kelly was amazing and very informative. The community is beautiful and the amenities are top notch.
I am searching for my new place in downtown Dallas and the Alta Design District was my first stop. Jennifer has been communicating with me throughout the week and was available to show me around. She was pleasant and friendly with lots of information about the area. This is a very nice place with awesome amenities and great views!
I have lived at Alta Design for almost 2 years now and love it! It is in a great location right off of major roads which makes commuting easy. The staff is kind and helpful. If I have a maintenance requests, it always gets attended too in a timely manor. The property director, Jennifer, is always quick to respond to any questions or concerns I have. It also has great amenities that are clean and cared for.
I have lived at Alta Design District for over 2 years and counting. Both units that I have lived in are extremely spacious, particularly in storage space which is rare in apartment homes. Jennifer, the management team, and the maintenance team are super friendly. The location is great. There are several walkable restaurants and shops, and adjacent neighborhoods like Oak Lawn and Downtown are a quick drive away. I would highly recommend living here!
I absolutely love this property! It has such great amenities, but the staff is amazing! They are super helpful and always answer all the questions I have. Work orders are done swiftly and care. I recommend living here with no reservations :)
I’m not easily impressed but this staff is amazing. I don’t move in for another week but they have gone above and beyond for me. I had very short notice to move. My house sold quicker than I expected. The apartment I wanted would not be ready by the time I needed to move. They worked it out for me and made it happen. I can’t wait to move into my new place. Jennifer was so kind and welcoming during my tour. I can see they are doing a lot of beautiful renovations. That’s always a plus!
Alta Design is a beautiful property. I absolutely love the location. It is just a few minutes to awsome shops, amazing restaurants and all the nightlife Uptown has to offer. The best part is they are pet friendly!! In the apartment home you really do get spacious living with a very modern feel. The stainless steel appliances are definitely a nice touch. Everyone in the leasing office is friendly and will help when you need it. If you are looking for a great home then you must take a tour!
I’ve been in this industry for well over 30yrs. I’ve had the pleasure of working for Jennifer at Wood Residential. I’d highly recommend living The Alta Design District community. The professionalism and costumer service is over the top.
I’ve had nothing but great experiences here. It’s easy in today’s world to complain about little petty issues, when google reviews seem to give such a loud voice to non-issues. Often times, the gossip is more important than the honesty in these bad reviews. Here’s what’s honest about ALTA: The staff here, is as great as the view is. Every time I’ve reached out to the staff, I’ve appreciated friendliness & their prompt responses. They’re quick to help, they’re professional, and the complex feels secure & friendly. I’ve been here for over 6 months now, & really wanted to highlight Amanda; You’re great at your job, and a pleasure to be around. I stand behind my decision to move here, I just wish that decisions were made to OPEN UP EVERYTHING. ...& Our Gym should be open 24 hours. Corporate should always cultivate the freedom of the residents & improve the feeling of community...Had to say it...hahah🍻
Just spoke to Brandy and she was EXCEPTIONAL! Willing to go above and beyond for someone looking to move to the area. Thank you so much for your help!
I absolutely love 💕 my apartment. I recently renewed my lease. The downtown skyline from the patio is beautiful. Whenever I reach out to Jennifer, Amanda, or the maintenance crew, they are very quick to respond and resolve my issue. Great place to live.
We have really enjoyed living at Alta Design! It’s a great location and we have so much space. Amanda and Jennifer are always quick to respond to our emails when we have any trouble, and the maintenance staff always comes to resolve issues quickly as well!!
I have lived here for over two years and I have loved my time here. The thing I love most about Alta Design District is how responsive the management team is, as well as, the maintenance team. I have recommended this place to friends and family before and will continue to do so.
I moved here in February after the snovid storms rolled through Texas. We went 12 days without water at our other place and had some other issues where we just couldn’t do it anymore. We found this place on a Friday and I called to get info, but couldn’t set up a tour due to my work schedule. Aiko answered the phone and was incredibly helpful and answered all questions I had. We ended up leasing later that weekend, and the Alta Design District team prepared things to have us moved in just a few short days later. When we arrived on move-in day, we were greeted by the assistant property director, Amanda. Amanda helped put the finishing touches on the lease and got us moved in. Since the move-in, it’s been nothing but great. We live on the top floor so don’t hear any neighbors above us like we did at the old place. Everybody around us is super friendly. My dog absolutely loves playing with all the other pups on the dog run. The sky deck is beautiful, especially on breezy nights evenings where you just wanna have a drink and watch the city light up. Honestly, I have zero complaints about this place so far and we’ve been here for a few months now. Awesome staff/maintenance, awesome location, great pricing.
Great place to live and in a great location right outside of the city! The staff is very professional, and Sergio specifically was incredibly helpful. We moved in the middle of the pandemic and he made it a very smooth process!
This place is perfect! Great staff, great accommodations. Awesome area to walk around in, I feel safe each time. Lots of dogs🥰 so you gotta be a doggos lover!! ❤️The occasional sirens will be going off but you get used to it real quick.
I was looking at some apartments downtown and found this place. The location was very convenient, the modern design of the complex and the affordability makes this an excellent place to live in.
What a beautiful property!Everything about this property is exquisite and Jennifer was amazing! She is extremely friendly and professional!
Jennifer was and is absolutely amazing! She helped my fiancé and me find the best apartment at the best rate! She made process seamless and easy from the day we applied to the day we moved in. The entire Alta Team was warm, welcoming and very helpful in us finding our new home. We thoroughly enjoy Alta Design District and are excited to explore all that It has to offer! Best choice ever, highly recommend making here your new home with Jennifer and the Alta Team as your guides!
We moved in back in November with a time crunch and a somewhat tight budget. Needless to say, we have no regrets with our decision to lease here. Jennifer helped us out and was super helpful and communicative. Also, now having lived here for a couple months, it’s very clear that our safety and health are top priority for management. Their public area policies during the pandemic here at Alta have been helpful in ensuring that we’re always safe, whether we’re taking a trip to the pool or gym. Not to mention the area + view! So calm yet so beautiful (,: Overall so happy with our decision to live here. THANK YOU ALTA!!!
Very nice upscale area with numerous apartment complexes. Reasonably pricey but with great access to high end restaurants, the American Airlines Center and Uptown/Downtown.
Been here for about two months now and Im really enjoying my stay. The grounds are very well kept and its central to all of Dallas. I have several dog walking routes within walking distance with Katy Trail, Design District, and Victory Park. My dog and I love it. Only reason Im not giving 5 stars is because I havent been able to enjoy the amenities like the gym, pool, or sky deck due to the pandemic. I see a lot of other apartment complexes have their gym open but for some reason this one doesnt, which sucks. It looks pretty good. Well see once its open.
I just moved in this past week and to say I was stressed with a little of an over statement. The employees here at ADD though really helped make me feel at home and even more importantly they made me feel calm. I quickly knew my way around the community, so I did not feel lost, my home was clean and ready for me! The few small items I needed fixed because I broke myself the service team came and fixed ASAP with nothing but smiles and warm welcome. Shout out to Jennifer and Amanda in the office and shout out to the guys on the service team, I am sorry but I don’t remember their names!
Ever since they changed management and hired a new property manager this place has been a joke. No sense of feel, Incredibly impersonal, unreasonable staff, and overall just remember that you get what you pay for. There’s a reason the price point is less than comparable living communities in the area.
Aiko and Amanda were very helpful during the move in process!
Everyone please visit this location on February 14 a very important event is going to occur... great location
Ive been living at Alta Design District for a year now, and couldnt renew my lease fast enough!! The building is clean, takes covid safety seriously, and the gym/pool area (pre-covid) are awesome! In addition, the staff is super helpful and friendly. The Management team is top of the line, makes things very easy, and super accommodating with reasonable requests. Would recommend this place for sure!
Lived here for years. Well maintained, office staff always helpful.
Lived here for two years (2018-2020), pretty standard in terms of living conditions and in a great location. Pool in 2019 was closed for over 2 months with tons of issues in the summer which was a huge disappointment. We were living in the apartments for most of the renovations as well.Community and safety has DEFINITELY dropped off. Lots more break ins and damages to cars but there is no increased security and the door code has been the same for about 3 years (Staff was notified of this). No cameras in the garage or in the dog park area where the gate is damaged (Along the back a bar is missing that anyone can just come through).Trash is a constant issue especially in stairwells. I think the same glob on throw up has been in a window sill on the back stairwell for about a year even with constant communication to the front office. Seems like there was a lot of management changes as well.Overall decent price, decent location for new people in the city. Just be cautious about your car/locking your door. Know there is really no security in the building itself.
I’ve been here for a year and I love it. I live directly above the leasing office so I’ve probably had more interactions with the leasing office than most. Sabrina, Amanda, Sergio and all of the staff were/are always a pleasure to speak to. Any concern or question has always been met with professionalism and empathy. They enforce property rules diligently and I believe that’s why the property stays so beautiful. The hallways and all public areas are kept immaculate and rent is very reasonable for the area. I highly recommend Alta design district.
Love the location and views, the staff is phenomenal, friendly and knowledgeable.
Lived here from 2017-2019Pros: beautiful views, awesome amenities, enclosed dog park, convenience to public transportation, to local bars, to downtown Dallas, beautiful apartments, maintenance staff, Melina and Megan were great, caring leasing agents, pricing seemed fair for downtown Dallas.Cons: turn over rate for front desk staff and property management. The 2 property managers that were there when I was there was horrible, (the lady that came in a month before I left seemed very sweet and nice), there was construction the entire 2 years i was there, there was cars that would do donuts for crowds in the Mavericks practice facility parking lot at 3 am, no cameras in packing garage, car break ins, there was a home invasion when i lived there, fees for everything, when i moved in it seemed there was alot of young professionals and college students living there by the time i was moving out the quality of residents was going down hill and it was getting very rowdy. Such a shame.*There are cleaning companys that leave there card to clean on a regular or when you move out. DO NOT use Lillys Cleaning service it is a scam they also go by Spotless cleaning service*
Move in was a bit shaky but Aiko and Amanda smoothed it out and squandered any issues.
Dont live here, avoid this apartment. Service was really poor and the staff will barley respond to any of your questions.
Ill be totally honest, I love living here. A newer building with lots of features. Extremely affordable with a gates parking structure (great for the heat or the cold), located walking distance from AAC and minutes away from parks, museums, Reunion Tower, Trinity Mills, and Deep Ellum. Not to mention the awesome Skyloft with an amazing view of downtown. But what stands out the most is the staff. Extremely professional, responsive, and they make it a fun place to live with monthly events. All apartments will have issues, there is no way around that. But any issues Ive had have been taken care of by the front office and/or maintainence. I highly recommend this place!
I have lived here almost a year and the entire staff is always friendly and very professional. I am exceptionally impressed with the maintenance staff during this pandemic. They are very careful to be safe and still maintain requests accordingly.
Update- accidentally rated a 1-star w/o noticing. Im super sorry but Alta is a really pretty place with nice views ❤(from a visitors perspective)
We are current residents at Alta Design District. Our lease is about to end in our 2-bedroom and were looking to downsize. Although we are going to miss the space and view that we have, we are also excited to move into a studio. The studio space is really nice and we still have a view of the Bank of America building with some trees framing part of the Dallas skyline. We love being close to the DART, American Airlines Center and El Bolero (favorite restaurant in the Design District), Katy and Trinity Strand Trails. Allie Reynolds supported our decision and she really listened to our needs. She worked with us closely and gave us really good options to consider. Besides her laid back and friendly personality, she was smart and considerate about timing our move. Thanks so much Allie! Were happy that we are staying at Alta Design District. Looking forward to enjoying that new pool this summer!
A great place to walk around and take pictures, its so nice, clean and beautiful
I have currently lived at Alta Design District for 3 months and so far, I really really love it. I have not yet had any maintenance issues, so I can’t speak for that, but the staff have always been very friendly and helpful. The view from my apartment is BREATHTAKING! I love absolutely everything about my apartment itself! You also can’t beat the location!! 10 minute walk to Stars games!!The only negatives, so far:95% of the time, the trash room on my floor is DISGUSTING! This has nothing to do with the maintenance team at Alta Design, though. I see them cleaning up ALL THE TIME. There have been multiple occasions where I couldn’t even walk in to the room, because people just throw their trash and boxes on the floor in there. It’s INFURIATING! Especially since we have valet trash pickup!!!There is currently construction being done on the road right outside of the building. It’s loud. If you sleep odd hours, get some earplugs. (This may also just be because of where my unit is located. Some residents may not be affected by this)Lastly, parking can be a bit scarce at times. If you keep odd hours and you want to ensure that you have a spot near your unit, get a reserved spot. I work late and almost every night have to park on another floor.
I just renewed my lease for a second year at Alta Design District. For the area, this is probably the best bang for your buck. The building is a little bit older than most others around it, but most of the units have been completely re-done and are very modern inside. The views on the Downtown facing side are awesome!! You get a full view of Dallas from the bridges over the Trinity river, downtown, and uptown. Community Brewery is right across the street, and the American Airlines Center is a 5 minute scooter / 15 minute walk away.
Been living here for a few weeks and I can say so far Im not disappointed at all with the apartment at all. Including Matt has been a great person helping me and my roommate move in here asap and gave us good advice when we did the contract. Moving can be a painful experience especially when you think about doing it yourself, but management will help you find a moving company if you want to have a excellent moving experience when you get your new home
The staff at this complex is AMAZING! They were incredibly helpful when my roommate and I were in a bit of a bind and could not have been more understanding and willing to work with us. I cannot recommend this complex enough. The neighbors were awesome and everyone took the time to chat with us upon move in and welcome us to the complex. Incredible value for the price!
Always great
Probably the best place Ive ever lived at! The staff there is absolutely AMAZING. This was my first apartment in Dallas and I most definitely feel that I made the best choice. Its super close but far enough (in terms of traffic and noise) from all of the hot spots in Dallas. I would and already have recommended Alta Design District to many people.
Such a great place to live! Office staff is always kind and happy to see you! The amenities are great and the location is perfect! Not to mention the neighbors, I was able to meet several very cool people who I now call friends and hang with!
Jennifer is great!
My husband and I lived here 7 years ago, left, and came right back. Alta is the best community I have ever lived in. I love how clean and maintained they keep the property (landscape, hallways, trash rooms, etc). The staff goes above and beyond for you, and is so friendly. I would recommend these apartments to anyone and everyone.
*Note: I dont write reviews for a complex unless I feel they are going above and beyond the norm OR below what should be expected and others thinking of leasing should be aware*I moved in here in February. Although I have only been here for 4 months I am very happy so far with my choice. (Great price, amenities, location, and staff) I live right above the dog run. Besides people taking their dogs out at extremely late hours during the week and some barking going on it at that time it is very convenient for my dog and I. Also, I can’t hear the cars at all even though I am so close to the roads which is great! Floors are hardwood so if someone is playing loud music downstairs you may hear the bass through your floors. (Same goes for if there is a party) I suggest to get a big rug to cover the sound or better yet get to know your upstairs and downstairs neighbor. Get their # and if it gets too loud you can text each other. You can also call the courtesy officer if don’t want to go that route. Amanda is hands down the best property Director you will ever find. I see her constantly walking my halls. She always is friendly and welcoming and does follow ups per any emails /concerns you had. Simba (my dog) and I are very grateful of everything she does and the work ethic she has to make sure her residents / complex is doing ok. Sergio and Matt in the office both go above and beyond also. They are both very friendly and good at responding to any questions/concerns you have. Matt was my tour guide and he is one of the reasons I decided on this apartment. I have never seen a tour guide have so much knowledge and do as thorough of a followup (in a good way) in my entire life.I worked with him for months and he still remembered who I was when called / asked about apartments available to tour months later. Jennifer works directly with Amanda and she was also amazing to work with during the short time I exchanged a few emails between us and Amanda when some uncertainty’s occurred because of the virus and my situation. Luckily I didn’t need to go that route but she was understanding none the less. The maintenance guys (Kendrick and Jorge) are top notch also. Anything you need done they get it done in a timely matter and they are great to talk to also! I have had a few good convos/laughs with them. The halls are very clean on my floor and they have someone who comes by weekly to mop through them. The complex has every amenity feature you would want (dog run, courtyard, lobby with shuffleboard, coffee machine, pool table, gym, pool, etc) I can’t speak on behalf of any resident events because Covid put a stop to that but I was told every month/2 they try to do one so I am hoping that is the case when things go back to normal. I will update this review in the future if anything changes / when my lease is up.
I had a great experience here touring with Matt! Though I didn’t lease here because I ended up moving to Denver instead of Dallas. This was the property I would go with if I was in Dallas! 100% recommend it to anyone.
My husband and I lived at Alta Design District for one year. We were initially attracted to this complex due to the price of rent and location. Although the cost of rent is cheaper, it does come at a cost. We moved into this property in September 2016. A few months after moving here, our apartment was broken in during broad daylight. Although they have cameras on the property and two 24 hour courtesy officers, the thief was never caught. What really annoyed me is that management didnt seem to concerned about letting the tenants know about the burglary. They also suggested that it is possible that the burglary was personal rather than admitting to the lack of safety at this complex. Many times the front gate would be broken allowing anyone to go in and out of the garage. A few weeks prior to moving out of the apartment, a string of cars were broken into as well which proved that there is a major issue here. The good aspect of this complex is that is it convenient located in between uptown and downtown. The maintenance guy at Alta was very nice to work with and efficient. Other than this, I wouldnt recommend living here unless they have upgraded their gate, camera or safety measures on the property.
Wonderful apartment. We enjoyed our time there. The office staff were always friendly and handled any questions we had. They are a 5 star staff. Always mind your parking sticker expiration date. Thanks for everything!
Nice apartment complex. Great location for restaurants and American Airlines Center.
When my lease was up at the Alta Design District, I wanted to save some money, so I applied for an apartment (which was almost $300/month less) in oak cliff.. put the deposit down and everything. Got home, and realized I had made a mistake because I LOVE everything about the ADD. I canceled my application to the other place and renewed my lease at the ADD. I have a 1 bedroom unit (777sf), and I really like the layout... Its perfect because it works well as an entertaining apartment with the stove in the island. The location of the complex is also perfect, and I wasnt ready to give that up.If you can snag a unit for a good rate like I did (I noticed 2 years in a row the prices drop in March), or you have a 2 bedroom unit with a roommate, then the ADD is the PERFECT place. My only complaint is directed towards something that doesnt concern me... but its the prices on most of the 1 bedroom and studio units. They are pretty high for such a small space ($1.90/sf for 580sf... not fantastic). I got REALLY lucky with my awesome deal and am so happy I renewed my lease!
I absolutely love living here! Ive seen a couple reviews about dog pee/trash left out in the hallways, but my roommate and I were just discussing how clean the hallways always are, so Im really not sure what people are talking about! Theres a cleaning crew that comes through every day and sweeps and mops the hallways. The office staff is awesome and incredibly helpful, my apartment is gorgeous, and I love living close to everything! I have no plans to move any time soon.
The apartments are actually nice as is the staff. I enjoy the location and proximity to different parts of Dallas. Although I wish I listened to the comments about the thin walls/ceilings. My neighbors above me must have a huge dog and it’s like the entire apartment runs around all day and night. There isn’t much anyone can do about that. I wrote a note to them at one point.
Great location, great price, great staff! We have a one bedroom unit with a patio and it is the perfect size for two people and a dog. The property is nice with a beautiful pool and a sky deck with a view of the city. We love being so close to uptown and Katy Trail, and there are so many fun places in the Design District to explore. The office staff are always friendly and have gone above and beyond for me more time than I can count, which really pushes this place over the top. We love it here!
I have lived at the Alta Design District for over 4 years and I have loved every second of it!First things first, the property is very nice. The amenities are top-notch and the staff is even better. All of the employees made it a point to take the time to learn my face and name, which is such a treat not having to explain who you are every time something comes up. Along with that, they are SUPER fast to resolve any maintenance requests or answer any questions you may have. Its almost like having youre own personal concierge and feels really special.Secondly, this property couldnt be in a better location. You are 5 minutes away from the Uptown bar scene and have the most excellent view of downtown Dallas. The skydeck is unbelievable! You should move here just for the view!Last but not least, this property feels safe. In the 4+ years that Ive been here, Ive never had or witnessed any issues. You will see people walking their dogs, working out, hanging out by the pool, and everyone is very friendly.I pride myself on really researching what Im getting into and every single year, when my lease is up for renewal, I look around and have yet to find a place this nice for such a great price.
Living here is great! My wife and I have lived at two other apartment complexes in downtown Dallas and this is the best place we have lived in.Maintenance has been timely and very nice to deal with. The office team is great and they are always on top of thing and know what is going on to help the residents! It is so fun living at Alta Design! They have a team that plans three events a month for their residents, a sky deck with an amazing Downtown view, and much more!
Great place to live! Have been here 3 months now, absolutely love it
So far I really like the complex, and the staff was awesome during my move in! However, recently I have had problems with getting responses from the staff. I have emailed them through the resident portal twice now about an issue I had confronted them about in person a few times as well. Nothing major, and I understand they are busy with construction and remodeling. I will still give 4 stars because it is a nice complex, and hopefully once I get a response to my issue I can update this to a 5 star rating!

My wife and I loved living here from 2015 - 2017. Management is great and really responsive. Everyone in the office is friendly and knew me, my wife, and our little girl by name and always asked how we were doing. Weve lived in a few apartment complexes (and experienced a variety of management companies/teams) in Dallas and Irving, but Wood Residential has the best staff, hands-down. Alta is in a great location, too...youre close to the city, but still removed just enough to have some quiet. We live rather far away now, but we miss this place! - Mike
A very beautiful place and very vijilated very quiet
Alta Design District is great! The neighborhood is awesome and its right next to the highway. We enjoy living so close to everything, being able to walk to the American Airline center to watch a game or concert and even having Victory station right across the highway (about a 10-15 minute walk) is amazing! We moved out here from California and looked at several apartments and were so glad we chose this one. The staff is awesome, maintenance is handled promptly and just overall it has been a great place to live at.We live on the second floor and face the city so the skyline is really nice at night with all the buildings and Reunion Tower lit up. We cant see the bridge too well from the second floor like you can in the Sky Deck (which is pretty spectacular) but thats OK since we have a brewery thats right across the street that serves pretty good beer. Our only issue really would be the sound, and not from the highway. We can hear whenever the neighbors above us walk loudly and I think they have kids who occasionally run around causing a ruckus.Aside from that staff is great, maintenance is great, never have trouble with parking in the parking garage and the property is great.
Lovely view
Remarkable staff in the leasing office. They are always eager to help with a smile. The floors are a bit thin in the apartments but I have yet to live somewhere where that is not the case.Consider living here if you need a good medium of distance and accessibility to downtown/uptown.
I find the office staff to be poor at customer service and is not good at resolving problems or complaints. There is dog poop and trash everywhere. The main security gate doesn’t lock and we have notified the staff 5 times. The elevator doesn’t have Fire Department access key. Construction has gone on forever and it’s a mess. There are a few good points though.1. Lots of square footage for the price.2. The maintenance guys are awesome.3. It’s super close to downtown.
This place is amazing! Great apartments, wonderful location, reasonable prices for the area, and most importantly the people who run this place are friendly, helpful and trustworthy. They are quick to communicate and they are always clear on expectation: I signed up the day I toured because I knew customer service such as that provided by Matt Dobbs is nearly impossible to come by in the apartment world. Would highly recommend!Edit: been here for a few months and it is still a great experience. They keep you posted on everything and let you know time expectations if there are any upgrades or cleanups happening. Always clean, staff is still always on point and helpful, and just overall amazing!
My husband, Mike, and I lived at Alta for a little over two years. Its easily one of the best apartment complexes Ive ever lived in, if not the best. You cant beat the location...close to downtown, uptown, and a quick Uber ride to a ton of bars and restaurants in the area. There are even a few within walking distance. The grounds are nicely maintained and Alta has a gorgeous pool in the center of the complex. The staff really makes this place though! Mark and Brianna are wonderful and we were always happy with the rest of the staff, too. Alta really does care about its residents and go out of their way to help them out when needed. We moved 20+ miles away and I miss my short commute (I work downtown) and the people at Alta a lot! If we want to move back to the Design District, we would definitely rent at Alta again.
If I could give it a 0 I would. We came for a tour, there was 30min left before they closed at 5pm. He basically said for us to come back tomorrow although there was only one person ahead of us. These apartments will never have to worry about our business.
I have had a wonderful experience living at Alta Design District the past year and a half. The property management is very personable and accommodating. The maintenance staff is on top of it. Even if I just put in a request to replace a lightbulb, it is usually taken care of the same day. I would highly recommend living at Alta.
We looked at several apartments in the downtown area. As far as best price, decor, amenities and best staff ever. They consistently stay in point with any maintenance issue and love the gatherings to meet other tenants.
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! Alta Design District is not only a beautiful well kept property, but there is an amazing view of the Dallas Skyline. The staff is more than wonderful and that includes leasing and maintenance. If youre looking for an upscale place thats reasonably price...then I would recommend Alta Design Distict.
I have been at Alta since 2015, and I really have enjoyed my time here. The office staff is so helpful and they assist whenever there are any issues, and they hold community events for the residents. The apartments are really nice, with granite countertops and wood floors. I have loved building a little garden on my balcony, and I use the pool all the time in the summer. The staff is really responsive to any issues and the community itself is awesome. They’re definitely pet friendly and the maintenance staff responds extremely quickly to maintenance requests, which is fantastic. The location is awesome since it’s quieter than Uptown but with the same convenience of access to Downtown, highways, etc. The interior of the apartment is gorgeous and my apartment faces Downtown, so I have a great view of the skyline as well. Excellent location, excellent apartment, and well worth living here!
I have been a resident at Alta Design District for more than 2 years now and, up until recently, would have given the apartment complex an over 3 stars due to the construction, noise level, crime rate and overall management.Ive had maintenance requests pending for over a month now. I understand that David (our main maintenance person) is out on leave however, I have a garbage disposal that isnt working and my whole apartment has been smelling like a sewage for over a week. I basically cant use my kitchen sink which means I cant cook any food.I have called and gone to the office in person to practically beg them to fix my garbage disposal but to no avail. They are basically refusing to repair it. While I understand that they are short 1 maintenance person thats honestly not my problem. I am the Director of Finance at my company and regardless to whether I am short staffed or not, my department is still required to perform duties as assigned. You can literally smell my garbage disposal before you even enter my apartment unit. The standard of service at this place is subpar at best and I hate the fact that I renewed my leased. Truly disappointing!!
I visited several apartments in Uptown, Downtown, Victory Park, and Arts District for comparison, before finally deciding to move into Alta Design District. At the beginning, the reason was simply because it costs the least for more square feet, it has a high ceiling and island kitchen in the middle of a spacious and open floor plan. In other places Id have a cramped kitchen and less square feet but higher price. Now Ive been living here for almost 2 years and I feel like I dont want to move elsewhere, the one with great rating usually cost way more $$$. Trust me, the great rating doesnt lie. I realized the great value of living here is not just the spacious room for cheaper price, but also 1. Friendly and courteous staff who know you by name and are always very responsive. 2. Super fast maintenance!! If something needs to be fixed, I just submit a request via their website before I leave to work, and most of the time when I come back home from work that same day, they are done fixing it. Amazing!! 3. Personally for me, being in the Design District is actually better than in Uptown or Downtown, because I am close enough to Uptown/Downtown, without having to deal with the hustle & bustle and traffic congestion on a daily basis. Highway I-35, Dallas North Tollway, and DART train station are right nearby for convenient access, but the apartment has really good sound proof windows that I dont hear the noise so much.My only complaint is; there are good and bad people everywhere, and Alta still has some trashy tenants who make it inconvenient for the rest of us. They throw trash in the hallway or strange places, not pick up after their dogs, let their guests park inside the building without permit, or just loud and inconsiderate. I guess thats all. Oh, by the way, the sky deck, fitness center and pool are awesome, too!
We spent a year at Alta, and it was a GREAT year. The integrity of the building itself is excellent. The staff (Joshua, Kimberly, Briana, and Bekah) are fabulous--always willing to go above and beyond for you and very responsive via email and phone. The maintenance staff was immediately responsive and great whenever we had a need (which wasnt often--just a couple times). There was always parking available in the secure garage. I always felt safe. The property itself was clean. Could walk to the Katy Trail which was a plus. Reasonable price per square foot for the location. There was a little noise--but thats because we chose to live on the first floor since we had a dog wed need to take out, and we didnt want to deal with the stairs. Our upstairs neighbors were loud when they walked around--but we knew that was a consequence of choosing to live on the first floor. Other than that, it was pretty quiet on property--highway noise, side-to-side neighbor noise, hallway noise--all of that was minimal. The only reason we moved is because we bought a house. Had we not found a home, we wouldve stayed at Alta for another year. I give it two thumbs up!
Allie Reynolds was so helpful in answering any questions I had. Looking into new apartments has always been a very stressful event for me but Allie made it a breeze. Thank you so much for your help!
Ive lived here for almost a year. For the most part Ive enjoyed it. Management has been great. I love my apartment. The only issue Ive encountered are some loud tenants that think its ok to blast their music and be loud in the hall ways on weekends. Seems like more and more reefraff move in each month. Apartment complex itself is great.
My first year, the place was 5 stars. My second year, it went down to 4.My third year, it slipped to 3.And by the 4th/final year - the staff turnover & prolonged construction dropped my rating of Alta to 2.I moved. But judging from the recent reviews, I moved at exactly the appropriate time... It seems to be a 1 now. Which is why Id say a score of 3 is fair. None of the people who worked there & made the property a 5 STAR apartments are there anymore. The structure is run-down & getting shabbier by the day. It went from being a place you loved to come home to ~ to a place youd rather work late (to avoid coming home to). Sadly, standards are seemingly a thing of the past for many people. Glad my new home is such a hard improvement!
The manager said she would take care of our issue... hopefully she will.
I have been living at Alta Design District for almost four years and have seen this place go from good to downright terrible when it comes to customer service, maintenance, appearance of community, general safety, and overall value you get for the price. When I first moved here the community was great and the office seemed to both hire and retain people including a friendly maintenance staff that would always help resolve issues as quickly as they could. The initial level of quality went on for about two years and then the place slowly went downhill starting two years ago (this wasnt too bad), to now being the worst experience I have had living in an apartment this past year. I hope upper management or someone is taking notice notice because people will eventually realize you do not get what you pay for here. There are plenty of newer places in Dallas and I am sure you can get better value elsewhere.General state of the office:The office struggles to retain employees and management and the lack of communication is alarming. If you call the office they will never pick up the phone and If you leave a voicemail it will get ignored. Whenever I go downstairs to the office to bring up something in person after many failed attempts through phone or email, the person working at the front will just write it down on a notepad and NEVER follow up with you. I finally was able to get a line of communication open only through emailing a newer property director. When it comes to maintenance: It seems like they have one maintenance person who does not know how to resolve issues, communicate properly, and constantly dismisses your concerns until things get worst or are never resolved. Some examples of issues I have had with maintenance this year:1) After redoing peoples balconies there was a leak under my balcony door causing water to seep into my living room whenever it rained. I showed this to maintenance and they said Well it doesnt rain often so you should be fine. The problem still has not been fixed and every time it rains a lot or storms water seeps into my living room.2) Recently there was a leak found in my water heater creating a leak for my neighbor below me. When the maintenance person came to look at it, I noticed what appeared to be mold or mildew covering the walls where the leak and water damage was forming. Concerned, I asked if this is something that should be looked into. His response was No its fine. He proceeded to do some light cleaning and left a dirty wet cloth in my sink and then left. After escalating this to the property director, having them call someone to look into it, it turns out they had to replace the dry wall in that area and the water heater. They put me in a hotel since the repair took a week but I came to find my place in a mess after the contractor had finished their work. Also the sad but hilarious thing is someone again left dirty towels in my sink, a mess in my kitchen, and a water heater that right now is not working. I am currently on day four without heated water with no path to resolution as of yet. The contractors also left buckets of paint that took almost a week to get rid of outside my door and one of my hallway lights is missing.3) Maintenance came to replace some kitchen track lights while I was out at work and left the door unlocked and completely wide open. When I came home I found my door left open and had no idea what had happened. Thankfully nothing was stolen or something bad happened but the negligence was alarming. The gate and security locks on the doors never seem to work and I am always seeing doors left open. The general state and appearance of this place:Alta lately looks like a dump with trash everywhere, constant construction, and a lack of cleaning and upkeep that you would expect.Take it from someone who has been here for four years and do not live here. I am certainly not renewing my lease after the terrible experience I have had this year.
A great place to live. Wonderful location as youre close to Oaklawn, Uptown, Downtown, Trinity Groves, and a short drive to Bishop Arts and North Oak Cliff. The place has all the amenities youd want such as pool, clubhouse, and a small, but well stocked gym. The staff is really nice, they even remember my name and dont mind going the extra distance. Maintenance requests are always fulfilled promptly.
We have lived at Alta for 2 years and are leaving at the end of April, and we are definitely sad to be going. We have felt very lucky to have lived here for the past couple of years and we will miss calling Alta home. The apartments themselves are very nice- granite counter tops, wood vinyl floors in the living room/kitchen, and nice carpet in the bedrooms. Plus our closet was huge, making it easy for my husband and I to share. The pool is large and has plenty of room for everyone to hang out without feeling crowded, and I have loved using the workout facilities almost every day. They provide towel service, which is super nice. We love the community-feeling of Alta as well. They have community gatherings about once a month, which I highly encourage future renters to attend and meet your neighbors. They also hold safety meetings, which are a great way to learn how to be safe.Whenever we have had an issue (which is normal- all apartments have something), we have had it addressed. Clogged drain? Fixed the next day. Broken light? Fixed that day. They are extremely responsive to maintenance requests and the front office people are always so kind and helpful! Our apartment was next to the Fire Sprinkler Room, which would make grinding noises at all hours to try and warm up the pipes in the winter. We explained the situation and they had it fixed very quickly! We have loved living across from Community and have really enjoyed getting to know our neighbors, who have become our friends. Well miss our wonderful home!
I chose this place last year strictly because of the exceptional staff. Yes, the apartments were great, along with the amenities internally and externally. But the latter is the case with most of the properties around here that are in the 10 year existence range. What is different is a happy staff who go out of their way to help you, regardless of the situation. Brianna, the manager, more or less saved my life one night after hearing my rental car got towed after I had been in a head-on collision earlier in the day that had totaled my car. I could only leave a general message and had no confidence anyone would even hear it until the next morning. But 10 minutes later and late on a Friday night, she stopped what she was doing, made some phone calls, got the towing company to Uber me out there for free and then without any towing charge, called me back to let me know, and then called again to make sure I was alright. She could have waited till morning or just played dumb and said she never got the message but she did just the opposite. Its the mark of a good human being; one who does something good for someone else because thats just who they are. And the rest of the a staff is the same way too. From Mark to Melina to Erin, theyre just really decent people. So when my lease came up for renewal, despite other area apt specials with comparable amenities, I signed for another year. Thanks again guys. Now watch me get evicted.
My dog and I love this place! 3 or 4 years and counting! Well obviously Ive lost count, so yeah... youd feel the same if you moved here :)
Without a doubt the worst apartment I have ever lived in. I am told one thing and another is done. My college dorm was newer and cleaner than my studio here. The staff is beyond rude. Today I moved out and needed to return my keys and after a heated conversation, because, again, I was told something different, a staff member had the nerve to ask if I needed my “hand held” to go back to my apartment and leave the keys. My living there paid his salary. Customer service 0. This is the only review I have ever left in my life. I move for work very often. This was my 5th apartment. I don’t usually take the time to involve myself with things I dislike but I am doing this to hopefully prevent someone else from living in this nightmare. I could go on and on about all the issues I have had with Alta Design but I refuse to waste my time on this place anymore.
I love this place! The leasing staff is great! Id recommend talking to Briana! Ive lived here for 2 years and am happy to say I am renewing my lease again!
