I recently joined the CAC and am very happy with my choice. The establishment has an old school feel to match the historic architecture. The range of machinery and weights are what anyone would need whether a novice or expert. There are numerous amenities which make membership well worth it. The facility is never too busy which can be a problem at other gyms. Centrally located in downtown Cincinnati, it’s an easy walk if you’re a downtown dweller.
I have recently joined and been extremely impressed with every aspect of the club. Staff and fellow members are outgoing and friendly. The executive director has planned some exciting upcoming events including happy hours, brunches, and formal events. If youre looking for an athletic club that goes above and beyond, CAC is your place.
It is the best gym Ive even been a member of.
The CAC is, in so many ways, more than just an athletic club. A stalwart of Cincinnati history that has persisted in three centuries, membership at “The Club” means being a part of a lineage of men who have preceded us and the responsibility of carrying the torch for future generations. “The Club” is a place where many members come daily to work out, socialize, and find respite from modern life. The atmosphere is collegial and welcoming, lead by the exemplary executive director Eric. The facilities are historic by nature, with great plans for improvement in the works. There is a palpable sense of legacy within the four walls of the building, with artifacts of the club’s 170 year history lining the walls. For alumni of St. X, Moeller, Lasalle, and Elder, the environment at the club will incite nostalgia and comfort in the shared experience of many of the Club’s members who are also alumni. If you have been searching for more than just a place to work out, more than just a gym, look no further. The CAC has been the premier social and athletic club for men for 170 years. Under the leadership of Eric and his team, it will only get better.
I joined 3 months ago and couldn’t be happier. The facility is extremely clean, never crowded, and Eric the director is constantly taking feedback for improvement. The club has also been a great resource for networking. It is definitely more of a “club” compared to just a gym.
I joined the CAC recently, and absolutely love it. The team running day to day operations is great and the Executive Director, Eric K. is super helpful. The club itself has everything you could ask for — a sauna, multiple weight rooms, a steam room and workspaces. They’re also in the process of renovating, so I am excited to see what else is to come.Lastly, during this pandemic when everything has been closing or limiting access to certain areas, the CAC has been on top of it as far as cleaning and assuring all members are comfortable.Highly recommend, especially for young professionals.
I just joined CAC and am extremely glad I made the switch from my previous gym. CAC offers so many training options in a variety of spaces, the hours of operation are great, and the staff is beyond helpful and accommodating. Best steam room Ive ever experienced. Looking forward to the new golf simulator and new bar/lounge area. Fantastic place with an amazing history.
I toured the facility in 2016 and passed on the opportunity to join because of the outdated equipment. After seeing some of the recent postings, I decided to revisit and joined. The fitness equipment has been updated and the Exec Director has a great vision for the continued improvement of the entire club experience. It feels old school in a good way, but has improvements that make it relevant today.
This place is awesome and has everything you need. I highly recommend!
The club is a fantastic place to work out and network. Since the current manager Eric took over last year there have been a ton of updates and renovations. The service is great and everyone is extremely friendly.
This is a great club; many positive features, friendly staff, and convenient hours. I highly recommend.
The Cincinnati Athletic Club is a National Treasure. This urban country club was founded in 1853 and traces its roots to the legendary Trollopes Bazaar. While one can quickly get lost in the clubs history (4 US Presidents were Members), today, the service is better than ever. This is literally the place where I feel the most relaxed. I stay in shape and, most of all, have established great friendships that will last forever.
Just joined the club a little over a month ago. It’s amazing! Never waiting for weights or machines. Pick up basketball games over lunch MWF and during the evening. The spa area is fabulous (steam room, sauna, ice bath, Swedish steam shower, warm-up room, cool down room, lap pool and jacuzzi). Boxing room. Racquetball courts. CrossFit, HIIT room, and multiple weight rooms.Plus, a bar and multiple rooms for meetings or just to whip your laptop out and get some work done when cooling down from a workout.
This club is great for both working out as well as networking. The club is constantly improving to provide members with a top of the line facility. I joined the club 8 months ago and have had a fantastic experience with all the members and staff!
Best all-in-one athletic club experience in the region. The recent addition of Eric Knapp has allowed the club to undergo significant change for the better with further plans to improve the member experience in the immediate future. Regardless of your fitness regimen, the CAC has the equipment available to suite you. Networking opportunities exist and the first floor bar prices and feel cannot be beat.
The top athletic club in Cincinnati hands down! Great staff, endless networking and fantastic facilitate equipment.
Amazing location. Oldest running club of its kind with a few former Presidential members. This is not only a great place to workout but a great network as well!
Too expensive., I inquired a couple of weeks ago, also are your steam rooms open, Ymca shut theres down and thats what Im looking for.
The Cincinnati Athletic Club is truly a unique gem nestled in downtown Cincinnati. Founded in 1853, it has a rich history including multiple former United States Presidents who have been members. It is a full service gym with towel service, a lap pool with four lanes, whirlpool, sauna and steam room. It offers daily free group fitness classes with a certified personal trainer. Not only that, but is is also a social club with a bar and pool table and social events to foster friendship and community among the members. If you are looking for a gym that feels like home, the CAC is the place for you.
Neat building!!
Classic space with accommodating staff and great member relationships.
I have been a member for 3 years now. The management, board, and members are pouring a ton of investment into the club. The experience has never been better. You owe it to yourself to check it out. Its not just about bygone history anymore.
An original! A little step back in time but so cool. Felt like home the minute I stepped inside. The downstairs is beautiful, enough exercise equipment and weights upstairs to get the job done, indoor track, indoor lap pool, full court basketball, and you can grab a beer in the bar after your workout. Pat Lindsay has done a great job with the place...Downtown Cincinnatis best kept secret....All mens club so have your wife or girlfriend meet you in the bar after! Perfect.
Best club in the city!
Rejoined- glad to see improvements!
