I am a college student and let’s just say that University Center by Cortland has been the perfect place for me and my roommates. This place was great enough that we even decided to come back and lease again for this school year. The staff is very helpful especially Connie who made our journey leasing our apartment very easy and helped us through the process. Highly recommend this Apartment complex.

I’ve been here for a little over 2 years & love this place. All of the office people are nice and respond quickly. Tyrone is the best! He helps out whenever is needed, plays with our dog when he comes & is super helpful!

Connie is such a professional agent. She was a great help and support for us for our apartment hunting. We applied for the apartment but then had to cancel out due to our personal reasons. This community is lovely, well-maintained, and well localized. The neighbors are very polite. The swimming pool is really nice and big enough to swim freely. The Staff is super helpful – they try to help you in every situation. Connie and Tarek are very kind and professional. In case of any issue with the apartment, usually the problem is solved within 2 days from the request. I’m really glad that I chose this place to live!

I’ve been a resident at university center for 3+ years and I’ve seen management come and go but when it comes to the current management and maintenance I am pleased. Tyrone is super responsive and knowledgeable to all maintenance calls and Tarek the community manager is great as well.

I just moved here less than a week ago. Filled out the move in maintenance sheet. Troy came 2 days later but only because I was busy. He had planned to come the day after I made the request to fix. He was very persistent in making sure it got done and he was very professional. I live alone and had a lot of boxes to get rid of. He took them to the recycle for me and I’m very appreciative. So far 5 stars!

We had applied for appartment on university of Cortland, due limited availability we could not proceed with application.The five stars i have given is not for the appartment because we never lived there. Its for the leasing consultation that we got during the time of application.We were assigned with Connie Murcio and she is exceptional in her job. She helped us through the application and even to cancel out the application when we wanted to close out the application.

By far the BEST apartments I’ve lived in, it’s the management staff in the front office that makes it awesome, during the pandemic they were very understanding of everyone’s situation and it was awesome they checked in and gave valuable info on resources of needed. *Honest reviewI’ve been here a week. And so far I like it, the staff is amazing, I love the inside of my apartment, but the only thing I hate is the stairs and the hallway, I live on the 3rd floor, and it literally smells like trash in the hallway everyday, it’s pretty embarrassing when guest wants to come over. The smell is so bad, that I literally hold my nose until I get into my apartment. As far as the stairs, they look very very dirty looking, (maybe they should have been all hard wood, instead of partial hard wood, and then white.) honestly if I wouldn’t have been showed the walk-up model, and instead was shown the actual apartment that I was moving in, I definitely would have not chose this place. Maybe in the future the valet trash ppl can kind of freshen up the hallways.or maybe keep someone to keep it clean. Because it literally smells like we have a dumpster on the floor 🥴

I have been here for over a year and I have found the staff to be very courteous and professional. My first encounter with staff was with Connie Murcio who did the initial walk-through with me and got me familiar with the services offered here. She has always been helpful and had a positive attitude the entire time I resided here.The apartment was very clean and the property well kept. The after-hours person always responded quickly when needed, and the rest of the office staff always assisted me when I needed them. Customer service is very important to me and they never failed to deliver. I never had any issues with my apartment as everything has always worked as expected, other than a sink needing to be unstopped of the which maintenance handled it right away. My experience with University Center by Cortland has truly been a positive one and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a very nice and clean community with a very helpful staff.

AMAZING customer service! The office staff is very responsive and answers any questions. The property is very clean, well-kept, and is a great value. We also enjoy the methods of communication with the tenants (the app, forum, etc.). My family is beyond pleased! You MUST stay here! You will not be disappointed!

Can be nice home not the worst but leaves a great deal to be wanted. If you have a good location it is enjoyable. We did not get that. Rent is higher than others nearby and upkeep is inconsistent and do not justify cost. Stay Here and pay for location only. Supervisors avoid issues and take too long to respond, always excuses. I pay rent timely it should be valued and I do not like apologies over and over. We will not stay here looking for sublet now. Update: I moved here because of the nice responses to the critical post. Now I see they have more effort into public response than resolving issues. I made this post for other who have choices to live. Home is a decision and it is hard to know where to choose before you move in. There is a 48 hour guarantee, but the techs close the order as complete to comply with the 48 hour rule. Lie about appearing. Lie about fix or improper and Fail to resolve first time. I have more than 7 service requests for repair that took one month to resolve. Some, I paid to fix myself or had my family assist. Judge on your own. It is not bad place but for the price I have decided to go with another more comfortable and professional run location.

I really enjoyed the visit I had at this location. Connie was very attentive, informative, and eager to answer my questions. I also liked that although she was the one assisting me, another leasing agent, Hikmat, was friendly and kind, not like other places Ive gone to where it seems they dont want to interact. One of the maintenance staff also greeted me as he passed by. Overall, University Center has an amazing team and it was a very pleasant visit!

We lived here for a year and liked living in this community. This community has a gym, pool, dog park, car wash, ev charge station and other facilities. Its in close proximity to shopping centers and eateries. Their mobile app is pretty handy for all requests & the service requests were always taken care of in reasonable time. The move in and move out process was smooth. I would recommend cortland for someone looking for a good place to stay.

Weve been living in these apartments for 2 years and we strongly recommend them. The gym and the pool are really nice and the staff is very helpful, specially Connie who is very kind and resolutive always willing to help.

I just moved to Cortland a week ago, I love the property and the amenities here and Hikmat-Al-Chami and Connie Murcio were very helpful through out the leasing process.Had few minor issues with in the apartment which were addressed in a day.

I have lived here for 4 years and when it comes to being treated nice University Center is spot on. Always handling my concerns and making sure the situation is taken care of. The staff in the office are polite and sincere and goes the extra mile for me. I love living here, the amenities and the grounds are beautifully maintained. The staff has a huge responsibility when it comes to keeping the property and areas cleaned when other residents are not complying with putting trash in trash compactor/bulk trash. There are hiccups and concerns but I do feel the team is trying to make sure living here is their number one priority for us tenants. The maintenance team also do their job and I commend their efforts.

Definitely the experience in the place was sensational, my family and I are very grateful to Miss Conni because from the day we visited this place for the first time until now she has been very helpful. Any questions you have do not hesitate to contact her.

The service director is on it, I had the worst leak and he fixed it within 10 min of arriving and made sure all the water was extracted!

This apartment complex is the very best i have ever been apart of. they work hard to provide a community and make the residents feel welcome. the staff is always so kind and helpful. they give gifts to community members and really strive to make it feel like home. i have had no issues at all while living here and i know if i ever were too the staff would be right on it. they keep residents updated on city emergencies such as power outages and water shortages, which is something my last apartment never did. overall this has been hands down the best living experience i’ve ever had with an apartment. not to mention that the apartments themselves are gorgeous and updated. the gym is always clean and open, and my puppies definitely enjoy the dog park. if you’re looking into a new apartment complex i highly recommended university center by cortland.

Today I drove my Nashville to these apartments. I signed my lease only walk into a dirty smoke ridden apartment. They offered to spray the carpets for me to get rid of the smell. Karessa agreed that things were not being handled correctly. I also have a garage in the lease. It was offered to have me move into a 2 bedroom apartment and pay the difference. I did not want to pay more after already signing a lease and paying in certified funds. Kitmah assured me she would be taking care of the issue. After speaking Karessa offered to wave the garage payment for the length of the lease but then informed she could not follow through. They offered me a 200 dollar preferred employer credit that they did not offer from the start. I am stuck paying roughly 150 more per month. I have been on the property since 1:45 and at 4:30 pm I am still not able to get into the apartment due to a computer error on the their end. Between the.cost of the movers and lease term I am out more than 1k dollars with no way to move in at the moment. Their only answer is an apology at the moment. They will not let me speak to higher. I have never been treated so poorly and unprofessional. I hope they will do the right thing. UPDATE the company provided a $100 dollar credit and informed me I have the ability to moved out within 45 days. If I choose to move out the credit will need to be refunded.

Look carefully you can do better.

Our favorite thing about University Center; is the TEAM. We absolutely love the team. They are tremendously kind and very attentive to our needs as residents.

University Center Cortland has been an excellent place to live as both a full time student and full time employee (employed elsewhere). Though there have been occasional issues that arise inherent to any apartment community, the staff stands out to remedy problems and make this community great.First, Emmett, one of the maintenance supervisors goes above and beyond to provide excellent service. Just yesterday I informed him of some light bulbs needing to be changed. Before I returned home from work, the bulbs were changed and he also changed my air filter since he noticed I needed a new one! This kind of service goes above and beyond, and it is clear Emmett is extremely knowledgeable, hardworking, and holds excellent service to the utmost value.Jennifer Harrington, the property manager, also has shown dedication to resident support and service. The first week she started here, she worked diligently to remedy a serious billing issue incurred on behalf of the water company. She remained in close communication and fixed the issue without inconveniencing me or my family. It is clear she is extremely knowledgeable about leasing and property management, and is dedicated to excellent resident service.Rona and Kendall, along with the rest of the team also do a great job. I would recommend University Center Cortland to any students or professionals in the area.

I would like to take time to shout the New Housekeeper Arkeba.She does a Great Job! I have seen a change in the cleanliness of these hallways and they really smell great the staircase even look cleaner. Thanks alot well over due.

I’ve made MULTIPLE attempts to contact the office for BASIC NECESSITIES SUCH AS A/C. They indeed send maintenance out to work on things but it never works long. The list of things wrong with appliances and management is too long to list. Run AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Residents very noisy. Neighbor caught their place on fire and constantly used my trash can as their personal trash can (during the pandemic).No one picked up after their dog.The pool had a chicken wing in it, a used diaper on the side, the umbrellas are broken, and the trash cans were overflowing.2 of my packages were stolen, including an iPhone. When I finally broke my lease and turned in my keys a week early, the leasing office lost them and charged me.

Weve had a great time living here, even though we have stayed for a month as we had to move for some personal reasons, I must say the apartment is very clean and well maintained. The office staffs are all polite and friendly, Hikmat is a very sweet and helpful lady at the office. Overall, we have enjoyed living here at the University Center at Cortland without any issues. Wish we could have stayed here for a little longer.

We have lived here for just under a year and it has been okay. If you have a dog, the dog park is nice because it is larger than a standard apartment dog park however there are holes everywhere that have yet to be fixed despite multiple complaints to the office about them. We also have the downstairs neighbors from hell. We have had nothing but issues with them since the day we moved in and we are seriously considering moving and giving an entire other company our money for the remainder of the time we determine to lease. Despite having reached out to the office multiple times the office staff has done absolutely nothing. No one in the office actually lives in the community which to me says a lot about their lack of knowledge of doing anything other than selling the property. The apartments are fine, they have good floor plans and occasionally clean the buildings. The Cortland 48 hours service request guarantee is anything but and we have never actually had anything completed in that time period, and they require you to email and remind them that you submitted a service request and THEN they decide to come look at it because youre demanding the free rent youre supposed to be receiving (which is something no one is going to tell you when you move in, you have to figure that out for yourself after asking the office why you werent receiving the policies free rent). This apartment complex is nice on the outside but has some serious issues from management down.

I love the location of University Center. Shopping and eating is convenient, with some places even in walking distance. I love my apartment and the community is usual very quiet. And the staff is always helpful...every time I’ve had to submit a maintenance request it’s always completed fast.

I’m highly disappointed in the service that I received from this company. I had an appointment that I scheduled through their online portal at 5:30 PM to view an apartment which I got multiple email confirmations stating the date and time and when I arrived after driving 20 minutes to the apartment complex I found that there was no one in the leasing office and when I called the number listed on the website it kept directing me to a back line where they were also clueless on how they could help me. This is very disappointing seeing how I was very interested in leasing one of their apartments I have not even moved in yet and the lack of communication is sad.

Great place to live. Tons of amenities - free gym open 24/7, with free classes during the week, dog park, pet spa. The grounds are well kept and clean. The maintenance staff is amazing!!! Quick, thorough, friendly very professional! My neighbors are respectful and friendly. Great area, lots of places to shop and eat.

These are not luxury apartments, there are roaches. I have seen 5 or 6. TheBedroom window leaks water, and there is mold. The windowsill has black mold. The maintenance guys are great. The AC had issues and the bill was high. The light bill continued to be $100.00 a month. The office workers do not return phone calls so Good Luck. The apartment needed to be redone. Yucky yucky in the bathroom. I had to completely clean as much as I could to stay.. During COVID-19 we have a date to leave but due to COVID needed to stay longer and after calling the office no one will return our calls.

This property provided an adequate place to stay for my wife and I however, when we moved out they decided to ding us on normal wear and tear of the apartment and would not work with at all stating, Im Just doing my job and thats how we do things here. Their guarantees are extremely difficult to use unless you are persistent and annoying to them. I will not ever live in a Cortland property again, and I do not recommend it to anyone.

What a difference a year a make, pretty much everything i mentioned in my previous review is no longer the case. (please see below my previous review). The staff went from being open minded and willing to assist to be cavalier, nonchalant, and unreasonable. I have live within this community for almost ten years, which in today times is extremely rare. There is no sense of loyalty or appreciation. I am now being subjected to extreme rental increase and dealing with pest problems, and the resolutions that they are offering are not satisfactory and come with more financial increase for me. I am disappointed that at this point that i would no longer recommend this property.Overall University Center Apartments is great place to live. It has diverse floor plans with modern and amazing amenities, however the best aspect of the property are the office staff. They are open minded and always willing to assist. You will always feel respected and heard. Should definitely keep this property in mind when looking for a place to call home.

Lived here for 2 years.Pros: Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Prompt maintenance. Nice new apartments. Valet trash. Attached garages. Affordable rent. Good location.Cons: The other residents really ruin the experience here. Ive heard every noise from nonstop dog barking and screaming babies to loud music and screaming adults. Complaining about them makes no difference, even with proof. Theres no physical security here - buildings are unlocked 24/7 and theres no gate around the complex. Literally anyone can walk right up to your front door. They just installed speed bumps on the roads leading in, which dont help and just make the drive more annoying.Overall one of the better options in the University area though.

We have lived here for a year.... first week here all four tires off my boyfriends car got stolen off and his car put on cinderblocks.... had to kill a couple mice as well. Our bed room windows continuously leak. Bugs are constantly covering our floor... also water damage ... And they raised our rent and expect us to pay more...

I just want to say that my visit to University Center community went great! The homes exceeded my expectations as well as the service I received from the front office. Corey and Sarah provided exceptional service. Being a recent grad from Virginia Tech and new to the area, I wanted to live somewhere that reminded me of where I spent my last 4 years. This neighborhood is very peaceful with very nice scenery. I look forward to living at this beautiful property. I definitely recommend living here!

So far so great! I moved in a month ago and havent had any issues yet. I was worried about travel and distance since my job is in uptown, but I’ve had no issues. I do work 6am to 2pm so my experience may be different than some. The community is quiet, always clean, and the staff seem to update you as often as possible on updates and current events. There’s also a dog washing station, a pet park, and a car wash station. I’m kinda upset I haven’t found this place sooner. Hikmat, the leasing consultant is pretty amazing as well. She’s friendly and seems to remember everything about a person after the first meet.

Ive been residing in this complex for almost 4 years and with Cortland for almost 3 years. The management is cooperative, nice, professional and loves to interact with the residents. The amenties are truly up to date and worth the cost to live comfortably here. The location is very convenient to restaurants, malls, schools and stores. Having the train in walking distance also makes it easier to get around the city. If youre considering moving here then I would definitely recommend it. Dont miss out on enjoying the coffee and refreshments while on your tour.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d say -1. this probably is the worse apartment complex I’ve lived in yet. Way too expensive for no reason at all. You call the office & get no response but when you walk in, there’s workers sitting at a desk.. doesn’t make sense. I’ve been trying to get hot water in my shower for a whole month now & nothing has happened. I see workerssss, (more than 1) outside everyday riding on their go carts, don’t understand why my hot water heater isn’t fixed yet...

My recent tour at University Center community was great. Things that I loved was the Clubhouse, pool and the 24hr fitness. The staff in the office was great during my visit. Corey gave me a tour of the model home which was a gorgeous floor plan. If you’re looking for a luxury apartment, I would suggest University Center. I look forward to leasing there in January next year.

Went to visit a friend that lives here. Nice high ceilings in the apartment. Spacious balcony and nice appliances in the kitchen. There was a lot of room in the bedroom. He had a queen bed, a desk, TV table, and two nightstands. The bathroom had a garden tub with a curved rod. I took off for the peephole. Its too high! Hes taller than me and couldnt reach to see out!! I guess youre supposed to be a giant!

Where do I start.... The “manager” Abigail is a terrible person with a terrible attitude honestly I don’t know how she’s the face of that complex. The amenities were “renovated” but the apartments still look old. Lived there for 2 years 2 different management teams first one was decent the current one is terrible and disrespectful. No regards for their tenants. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. No available parking after 5pm. Had to ride around the block just to find parking a couple times. The apartment I was shown was decent but the one I was actually given was completely different and had several maintenance issues so bad that I was moved to a different unit. The hallways always stink of trash even when it’s not trash day other tenants sometimes leave up to 3 trash bags in the halls and the stench was unbearable walking through there.No one ever cleans or mops the hallways. Overall I don’t recommend living here there are so many better places to live in Charlotte at the same price and far better living quality. Unless you want to be uncomfortable, have no parking, have loud neighbors and walk through stench don’t live here.

I came in for some information about apartments and Hikmat was amazing! She took the time out to inform me about the prices and floor plans even though I am shopping too early. Thank you so much Hikmat for your help will def be back closer to my move in and will send everyone your way!

I have started shopping around for apartments recently and wanted something close by to where i I work. Hikmat was working in the office when I came by to tour I let her that I did not want to input my information but wanted to tour to get an idea. She was beyond helpful! The property was amazing and beautiful, I wish all of my experiences could be like that. Thank you Hikmat.

Hikmat was absolutely wonderful when sitting down and going over my options. I told her exactly what I wanted/ needed and my budget and she was able to come up with several options for me. She was incredibly nice and thorough. Out of all the apartments in university area, these were the ones I decided on solely because of the service I received. Other apartments had better amenities and newer conditions but I really wanted to live somewhere I could have a good relationship with the office and Hikmat gave me the certainty I would receive that.

I love the entire staff at University Center. All of the ladies in the office are extremely nice and helpful. The maintenance staff responds very quickly and resolve my issues the first time. Also, the new property manager is already working to make a great change in making the residence come first and in the overall welcoming feeling of the community. This is not to mention all of the amazing upgrades and amenities that are totally worth the value.

Have been living at these apartments for 6 months now and it has been a very mixed experience. Had lot of maintenance issues when moving, which took a while to get fixed. Maintenance staff is friendly and prompt but normally these issues should have been fixed before renting. You see lot of dog poop while walking around the community. Have complained about noise from neighboring apartment multiple times but it has not made any difference. I am frustrated to such an extent that I cant even wait for our lease to be over in next couple of months and JUST MOVE OUT OF HERE.

My experience living at University Center has been very pleasant and I would definitely live here again. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My husband passed away last year and I sold my home in May. I needed a temporary home, because Im in the process of building a new home, so I came to University Center. My move-in date for my new home was pushed back a month and Spencer was able to get my lease extended through September at the same rate. Spencer was so caring and extremely concerned about helping me with my living situation.Thank-you again, Spencer for your help.

I love everything about University Center. It’s my first apartment since moving back to the Charlotte area from school and I have no complaints. The staffing and events held in the Leasing Office are second to none and I haven’t had any issue that wasn’t resolved with urgency. I would definitely recommend this complex to anyone interested in the University Area. This area is really growing and this place is definitely a testement to that growth!
