My mother and I have been living here for a year now and we didn’t have the best experience when we first moved in with the previous leasing office team. But ever since The new Leasing manager Tatiana and her team came and stepped in things have been amazing! You can definitely see a turnaround in this place. Tatiana is very nice and has a can do attitude to match with it. I recommend anyone considering moving here to come and experience it for yourself.
Since I’ve lived here over the past year, the current property management team has been the best. They have been the most professional and responsive. I love Tatiana and Jessica’s “can do” “let’s figure it out” attitudes—very refreshing approach. They both are awesome empathetic listeners too—makes you feel like they really care—I believe they really do care. Tatiana’s leadership since she’s taken over has been felt throughout the apartment community. She cares about the customer/tenant and it shows in her incredible work ethic. She’s made an immediate impact... completing maintenance requests, repairing the retaining walls, etc. Jessica is very responsive and professional. She possesses excellent customer service skills and always has a positive upbeat attitude. She hears your concerns and addresses them—awesome follow-up and follow-through. She always provides an answer—whether it’s positive or negative. I look forward to seeing what additional enhancements to the community experience that Tatiana and her team will continue to bring to Northlake.
I would like to take this time to give my experience here at Northlake, i have lived here for 11 years and I have seen all Ups and Downs. I have read a lot of the reviews and completely understand why people have said what they have said about the Staff/Maintenance here at Northlake from the PAST but we now have a ENTIRE new office staff and maintenance staff. Tatiana our New Property Manager is the best thing that has ever happened to Northlake. In just the short amount of time she has been here she has already proven herself and her commitment to Northlake. She and her team and very committed to the residents and the property and it shows and i thank her so much every time i see her. She is not the type of manager that sits in the office all day, she takes the time to walk the property to make sure things are as they should be and corrects things VERY fast when things are brought to her attention. Also our new maintenance team Donnie and Matt are extremely hard working and very detailed. They are very nice guys and i thank them so much for the hard work and commitment. Like i said earlier, i have lived here for 11 years and counting and Northlake is truly a beautiful community, especially in the summer months when all the trees are blooming. I would recommend Northlake to anyone, the apartments are very spacious and i love the floor plans, they have all different types of floor plans to fit your needs. I really would recommend anyone looking for a new living opportunity to consider Northlake and please ask for Tatiana, she is absolutely amazing and will reassure your living experience here at Northlake to be the best experience possible. Thanks again Northlake Staff for caring for me and my living experience here!!
Amazing property. The rent office is great at helping with concerns. When it comes to anything needed to to be fixed inside the home maintenance is on top of it. The new Leasing manager Tatiana is the BEST and I do mean the BEST.. she works so hard at keeping the property clean and safe. By far one of the best places to live in the University area.
A DISGRACE!I am mortified by my living experience here and it has only been a month!Do NOT put any of your money into this community, even if its your LAST choice! You are better off homeless!
My husband and I along with our 2 sons moved into a 3 bedroom apartment in November 2020. Inside our apartment is not bad, weve had issues with the AC but nothing really to complain about. My main issues are THE POOL IS STILL NOT OPEN. Our keys have only worked to let us in the fitness center 2 times... Not cool. ALL kids are out on summer break... Fix whatever needs to be fixed and open the pool... Priority #1 FIX IT PLEASE.
I have been living here for about 2 months now and I am very happy with this place! Tatiana is very professional and she made me feel comfortable since day 1. The application process was speedy and very easy! Any issues that I had with the apartment upon move in were fixed immediately, and anytime maintenance is needed they respond very quickly.
I can see they are trying bring up the value of the property adding a food truck and other small events for the community. They are more responsive then the last management team. I hope they keep making changes for the better. The only thing that would make them even better if the ac switch happened sooner. The third floor can get pretty warm some days.
The new property manager is very responsive and has put her personal touch on Northlake in the short time she has been there. Her acute attention to details and accountability has the property trending in a way residents and vendors would feel very at home. With her leadership and upbeat staff she will do great! Proud to have her onboard and look forward to working with her.
I had a tour done with Jessica Chevres and what a delight it was. She was so knowledgeable and so sweet. She made the experience so pleasant!! WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE HER!!! I highly recommend this property and also recommend for Ms.Jessica to be asked for because you won’t be disappointed.
When I first moved the leasing office was horrible, no communication etc, now that Tatiana our new property manger has came I feel much better being here and a tenant here, she does door to door talk to help better the community needs and I love that, since she came it had been so much better
I really enjoyed Jessica Chevres she was very informative and was straight forward with every question I asked. She walked us through the process and didn’t leave out any details. She was honest and patient!
Good staff good community. I have watched the community worse back to good. The new office staff are great. I have been in the community 3 years. I started off in two bedroom and moved to a one bedroom. The new property manager is really sweet and great. She working so hard to make the community great again and somewhere you would love to call home. Working on getting the back gates fixed. The staff really care about there residents and this community. Trying there to make it better.
Jessica is amazing her energy is is what eventually took us over the hills and made us fall in love with the property. She’s very helpful and professional and answer all the questions we threw at her with great answers. If you visit this property please work with her you’ll fall in love as well.
I know have a change of heart about Northlake apartments, now that Tatiana the new property manager and her new crew have been awesome! She has worked diligently to get my overdue work orders from previous management completed. She said to give her a chance and she will get it done and I am.thrilled about the new changes and the upkeep of the community . They have been a game changer, and I for one am really happy for the first time for where I reside.
Jessica did an amazing job, very professional and had great information on these apartments. Me and my girlfriend applied right away. Thank you so much Jessica, I recommend anyone who comes to look at these apartments ask for Jessica Chevres.
I can’t speak to living here. We ultimately decided to go with a place closer to work, but Jessica Chevres was super helpful in answering all of our questions. She deserves a solid shoutout!
As a current resident I can tell that the new manager care for the community. It is unfortunately that the office is not fully staffed, I personally had a problem with the leasing agent putting me on hold for almost 30 minutes, saw the manager walking around the community and talked to her about my concerns, she apologize and guarantee that sooner the office will be fully staffed and things will be better .
DO NOT RENT HERE!!!! They are scammers!!!! They will take your money and attempt to rent an apartment that is not livable!!!! The manager Tatiana, is unprofessional. You will never see her as she is never available in the office! Jessica will help you until it’s time for her to protect her job!!!
Jessica was very informative! She definitely made me feel like I wanted to move in. Seems like a great community.
I and my wife have lived here for two years and we have steadily watch this complex descend into madness. At this point it is nearly impossible to get in touch with someone from the office. Maintenance is just speeding up and down the street without a care in the world. When we are able to get someone they just say they will look into it. These people only care about getting the rent. Its winter and my heater has broken we put in a service request for days ago and still no one has come out to even check on us. I genuinely hate this place now and in all probability will not be renewing my lease. If you are reading this stay away from this place it is not worth the 1000+ paid for rent.**Update** Maintenance Supervisor came by and fixed the issue restoring my heat after I waited outside the rent office. The heat went off again one day after it was it fixed. Still unable to reach anyone after putting in emergency request.
Northlake is still my first choice in Northeast Charlotte on where to live; nothing but peace here. NEW management is phenomenal. Schedule a tour you’ll I hope you see what I saw.
Went in for a tour trying to become a future resident. Was seen my Jessica which was extremely nice and comforting. Definitely will be a resident soon. Thank God !
Great company. Staff is excellent. Love to call this place home
I set up an appointment to view a one bedroom apartment and the wonderful consultant (Jessica Chevres) was so sweet. She went up and beyond to make sure I had all the information I need and answer any questions I had. She was very professional. Thank you again😀
I always look for great customer service when I tour places and this place had phenomenal customer service as soon as I walked into the office. Jessica Chevres was such an amazing front desk receptionist, She answered all my questions and made sure I was informed with everything there is with the complex.
Been living here for a year and this is the best apartment i have ever had . I highly recommend.
Jessica was a great host! She didnt leave out one detail and didnt miss a beat at explaining any question that I had!! She was very open and honest about the policies at northlake and I appreciate that!
Jessica was very attentive and knowledgeable about the apartment. She was very honest and went above and beyond to meet the requirements I wanted in an apartment as well as pricing! If i could give a million stars I would.
Jessica handles everything for me . Very professional and consistent on helping me move in . Handles all my maintenance orders . Shes great and she has great customer service . Always willing to go above and beyond for her residents and I truly appreciate it
The new management is an enormous upgrade. The maintenance team as well has been very responsive and are completing the tasks in a timely manner. My experience here just went from 1 star to 5 stars.
After meeting Caroline in office I am definitely relieved with the past issues. I am eager to see the positive changes here at Northlake.
Thank you Tatiana for everything your service has been exceptional thus far !!!!! With Jas as your assistant you’re in GOOD HANDS!!!! Thank you
GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Wonderful workers who made me feel very welcome on my apartment tour, extremely friendly.
The manager is very enthusiastic and kind, she is very responsible for handling customer needs.👍
Jessica gave me a Great walk-thru. Great communication. Everything was great. Thanks.
Loved every minute of my tour, Jessica helped us out very warm welcoming super sweet and thoughtful energy.
Jessica was awesome 😎 She has been working with me during this process and I’m looking forward to joining the community
Jessica was very nice as well as very professional. She was extremely helpful with our request in interest as far as our desired apartment.
Jessica was a wonderful person to work with, I can’t wait for my move in date. Thank you Jessica for all your help.
My dryer has not been fixed in over a month! I put in a work order request on October 31, 2020.Today December 8, 2020. I was told the washer/dryer set they ordered will not fit and they need to order another one. Really?!!!!! Clearly, common sense is not common. My lease is over soon so 🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾 I have no issue to consistently write terrible reviews about this property EVERYDAY! until my issue gets resolved.*Update Dec 17, 2020*Maintenance installed the washer/ dryer set and guess what.... I noticed after I finished working that it was leaking, extreme inconvenience!!! Water was all over the place! Puddles!!! 😡😡 Maintenance supervisor was able to resolve the issue! I had to sleep with a loud humidifier on all night! Do not move to this property! Incase you decide to move to the property, make sure you on top of maintenance at all times! I repeat AT ALL TIMES. If anything else breaks, the maintenance supervisor is the ONLY one allowed to enter my apartment under MY supervision so I know it will be done correctly the first time!
VERY UNPROFESSIONAL when living here they never respond to any maintenance requests also I’ve moved out over a month ago and still haven’t received my move out statement they never answer the phone and give you the run around…
I have worked with two people. One being Ms Caroline, the assistant property manager and the other Ms Jessica, the leasing consultant. When I tell you that these two wonderful ladies go out of their way to make sure you are accommodated for and that every T is crossed and every I is dotted, I can not emphasize it enough 🙌🏽. I was not able to move into my apartment on the scheduled move-in date because of an electrical issue that was discovered. Caroline made sure to call me day one!!! and let me know my options and how we were to proceed going forward. I then spoke with Jessica, in lieu of Caroline’s absence, and She made sure to keep me in the loop about the situation of my apartment. Jessica was very respectful and nice, always called back when she said she was going to, and made sure to follow up and address any questions or concerns I had. I do not know who be reading this review but I cant stress this enough, promote this woman!! My experience with Caroline was very pleasant and it left a good impression on my opinion of Northlake by Arium, but It as the professionalism, rapport, and empathy of Jessica that made me and my sister decide to stay and wait for the apartment. Ladies we, and personally I, cannot thank you enough for what you have done for us and we look forward to our stay at the community!!!!Best regards,Oc Mcclain!
Tatiana and her team are amazing, They are working hard to keep the property organized and clean. This is a great place to live!

I actually used to really like it here, but the management is unresponsive now, and staff keep leaving, which only adds to the problem. Hopefully things can turn around, but for now I cannot recommend enough that you stay away. There are several other, better rated (and better looking) options close by, so you could still enjoy area without this headache.
I worked with Jessica today on finding a new home. She was extremely helpful and a pleasure to work with.
DO NOT MOVE THERE. Very unprofessional and worse customer service ever. All they care about is to charge you. Never pick up the phone. Not responsive to email. Rude to tenant....I lived there for 4 years. I will take the time daily to write my experience here...
Great help from Jessica, she gave us a wonderful tour of the apartment.
Was told by management that they would waive my late fee before my lease ended. Once my lease ended, they sent me a bill for it. They havent picked up the phone or been available at the office since.
We scheduled an appointment to tour the apartments as we are planning to move to Charlotte towards the end of the year. We spoke with Ashley and she was awesome! She was very friendly and was able to answer all of our questions. The complex seems great and it really seems like you get the most bang for your buck in the Charlotte area! Definitely our number 1 apartment choice at the moment because of the complex itself and the great service and tour we received.
0 stars. These people put a tow sticker on my car simply for having out of state plates, with 2 days to get new plates. That would be impossible normally, but ridiculous during the pandemic considering the DMV requires appointments now. No advance warning, no purpose, just trying to steal their tenants cars during COVID. Pathetic, greedy company with no compassion or basic decency.
Very unprofessional, never answers the phones, Management is rude! Definitely wouldnt recommend anyone to move into this property! Over the years, property has decreased in value. Oh, please dont have a maintenance request, you would be lucky to have things fixed by the end of your lease! Corporate isnt any better, I would stay away from any Arium Living Properties!!!!!
Emergency work orders never get completed within a timely manner, and the office staff never answers the phone or returns missed calls from their residents. Dont expect to be treated as a valued resident here.
The ladies upfront are super nice and helpful. The complex is kept very clean and nice looking. Maintenance is great and so is the valet trash service. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful! Overall, a wonderful place to live!
Walls are paper thin. You might as well be room mates with your neighbors. Sounds like someone is in your apartment if they are talking while walking through the breeze way. Its not uncommon to hear a yelling match between toxic couples outside. Make sure to get a tour of the actual apartment available and not the model unit. The quality is majorly different. Parking is hard to come by after 5 PM, at least during COVID. I guess thats what I get for choosing a cheaper more affordable apartment in Charlotte. Nothing is luxury but the gates that are open most of the time anyway.
Tatiana and Caroline are amazing to say the least. They are both super sweet and professional! Tatiana is a wonderful property manager and has the community in tip top shape. The apartments are cozy and spacious. If you are looking for a new apartment home, put Northlake on the top of your list.
Came in to view after speaking to Deja on the phone the day before. She was amazing. Even though she was working alone and had a line of people demanding her attention, she was thorough, friendly, knowledgeable, and did not rush our process. She went over everything in detail, answered all my questions and took her time to show me everything i asked to see. This is what great customer service looks like.
I signed up through the website to schedule a tour, received an email confirming the appointment and time. I get there the young lady asked how she could help and then my name. As I waited briefly as she did have someone in her office, she stated she did not have me down for an appointment. I showed the email and she replied that it was through a third party that I signed up with. To which I replied I scheduled on their website. She replied numerous times that the site had nothing to do with them. I simply stated that they may want to check into that because that clearly would discourage someone who may have challenges getting time visit properties. She tried to talk over me stating that it had nothing to do with them directly. Now she did offer to assist if I had the time. She came off dismissive and did not give her name. First impressions are a big deal and if that type of attitude is the face representing this property is not a good look. Customer service refresher courses should be implemented about every 6 months because clearly some people need it.
Listen, I very rarely write reviews. But I am fed completely up with why the apartment amenities (ie pool) is not yet opened up. We received an email on Saturday stating that the pool would be opened June 1st....Today from 10am -5pm. Moments ago I get my 6yr old daughter pool ready And proceed to the pool to only see it is still not opened. Now i understand circumstances like the chlorine level being not up to standard.....but shouldnt someone send out a communication saying there is a delay in opening??Now I have to deal with an upset crying 6yr old who got her hopes up to swim today after being in the house for almost 3 months. This is not acceptable!!DO BETTER MANAGEMENT TEAM!!
Great people in the office love the environment
Moved in to this society about an year ago. No issues since then. Maintenance staff is very helpful. Office staff is friendly too, especially the manager Ashley, always helped with any issues we ever had. Great location and nice apartments. Just one suggestion, It would have been nice if there’s a children’s play area available in the community.
Had an apt for a NON VIRTUAL tour at 11AM, spoke to someone on the phone to confirm my apt.. once I arrived I called numerous times (No response) went and knocked on the leasing office door (someone sitting at a desk, could of answered the phone) and told me that they are doing virtual tours only. Very trashy area, non professional, saw roaches On the stairs leading to leasing office, decided to not move forward with touring the apts
My husband and I have been living here since the end of 2017. The staff has been nothing but helpful throughout our time living here. Ashley has been an amazing help with everything that we’ve needed over the time of us being here, including making sure our transition to downsizing was stress free as possible.
**Update***I was contacted yesterday by someone from the leasing office.... I guess. The individual did not even introduce themselves and began to spew questions regarding if I was still interested in renting at Northlake. I told them when I will be relocating, what I was looking for (upon their request), and kindly asked who I was corresponding with. Not to my surprise, the individual discontinued the conversation and I have not heard from them since. Again, another blatant display of unprofessionalism and at this point I am appalled. First impressions usually set the tone for what is to come, and I would not rent from this place if they paid me! Please DO NOT waste your time. They have 2.8 rating for a reason!I am relocating from Raleigh to Charlotte at the beginning of September. I currently live in an Arium property and I am seeking a transfer. I have called several times- no answer- and left a message requesting an appointment to tour the community. Unfortunately, no one has returned my calls and I think this is highly unprofessional! Everyone deserves equal treatment, but you would think they would be happy to help with making my transition as seamless as possible being that I am a current Arium resident.
Northlake Apartments has been a great place. This is my third year here. It’s a quiet and peaceful community with great amenities. The ladies in the office (Ashley and Deja) are super nice. They always do their best to help you out.
Tatiana is doing a great job.
My move-in was amazing! The only issue I have is my upstairs neighbors letting their child running across the floor all day long and constantly dropping things on the floor! Its quite disturbing being my work schedule recently changed so now I dont get home until 2am. And I am a quite person I dont disturb others. So, around 7am the noise starts! And its annoying! Especially, for a new tenant.
Horrible service and horrible people
I’ve been living here since August 2019 very very bad experience, like if I wasn’t from here I would have move out it wasn’t until recently the new leasing lady Tatiana, really gave me a change of heart about the living situation, she really made me feel like a resident she keeps her word she’s really getting the job and she’s professional she’s really an upgrade to our community so whomever that bought her in 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 To you
When i moved in i was livid, the place was not presented to me as a luxury apartment, as i thought, or did not look like the model, which was all they had to show me at the time i was approved. I travel for work a lot, so that kept me from making multiple trips to ensure all was done to the unit that i wanted to see, or as was advertised. I can say i still moved in, honestly because of the time i could not look further for anything else. I am only in state for 4 days a month. This was VERY disappointing. I have talked with the office about this, and they have tried to accommodate me, and have been helpful in that manner. But to be honest i feel like you will need to stay on top of the progress and on the front office to get things done. I am upset about this issue, because i dont have the time to do this, and it should not be necessary. I read the comments after signing the lease and saw how everyone complained about the front office. I can now see why they have said those things. My honest opinion, is that i feel like this place has great potential, but needs to get their people including maintenance to care more about what is being sold. I could have stayed anywhere in charlotte, and had i known that i would have been signing to this community, i would have thought twice. You are paying a price for “Luxury” but not receiving what you should be getting for the price. I could go on for days about issues i have experienced so far, and i have high expectations period. But i am hoping that they can fix the issues i have to just get through this lease and hopefully not have to deal with any of these rental properties, due to the large amount of money they want for the units and only doing the bare minimum to the unit, therefore making the transaction unfair.
I dont live at the complex, but I am researching, because my new job is on that side of town. Reading the reviews, newest to oldest, a lot of the same context reviews. They are followed but the same style responses. Some going back 3-4months. Management, what are you doing to fix the issues, really?
Management is horrible there!! Please don’t move to this community! They are very rude and ruthless! The residents there are complaining and very unhappy. There should be no reason for this level of dissatisfaction from residents that pay over 1000$ just to live there. Surveys and signatures have been sent. There needs to be a serious change starting from management on down. Where is corporate?? Management is hurting your business.Reply to Owner: I don’t want an email. I need your corporate number.
I love the apartment complex.. it seems quiet.. I love my new home..ASHLEY was absolutely phenomenal!
Lets talk about how Northake treats its residents that are victimized. On December 30th, several mailboxes were broken into, with mail being stolen and residents left feeling vulnerable. Management was notified by me and a couple others and NOTHING was done. Finally, after several calls to the office, an email was finally sent on January 13th informing us that the mail would be held at the local USPS. So, needless to say some mail was never received. The local USPS reluctantly held mail but I got an earful the first several times I went to retrieve my mail. The staff there complained about the property manager and her negligence responding to the situation.I went to the property manager and she informed me that it was the responsibility of USPS to repair the mailboxes. USPS informed me that it was the responsibility of management. Whew!! It became so frustrating for me and I know countless others that had to trudge for months to pick up our mail. On March 13th, another email came out, mind you almost 3 months after the incident to say that USPS was tired of holding our mail. The email went on to state that if we gave Northlake (Carroll Management) permission they would have our mail delivered to the front office. That seemed illegal to me, that they would have access to our personal mail. I reluctantly sent an email that I received NO response to. No surprise there!! I went to the front office to pick up some of my mail. A piece of my mail was returned to the sender and luckily I received an email from them informing me the correspondence was returned to them. I then called Carroll Management Corporate Office in Atlanta three times because I was fed up with the whole situation. I did not receive any returned messages, there were no emails sent in response. They did not appear to care. I then placed a personal hold on my mail because I didnt want the front office to have access to my personal mail.On April 1st, I received a call from my postal carrier and her supervisor informing me they could no longer hold my mail and we were being instructed to purchase a P.O. Box and we would be reimbursed by the management company. She stated that had been going on for the past two weeks. I was completely offended. Where was the email correspondence, a personal touch, ANYTHING from the management company??? I paid my rent before the 1st so unable to get a reduction in my rent. So, I had to pay $59 for a six month P.O. Box rental. She informed me about some other things relating to the property managers negligence.I have been left with a sense of total mistrust for the management company. However, they have taken my on time payments since 2016.
I actually read the reviews before moving forward with renting here. Good thing I did the negative was accurate, my card was charged a rental fee prior to my application being complete, in addition to the app. fee. why? After pulling out my application I havent received a call back or refund yet. Very happy I will not be renting here, I can only imagine the horror over the next 12-14 months. No thank you. There are better options just around the corner.Update: my money has been returned thanks to Charles.
Great staff to work with. Always so helpful. The maintenance always respond quickly. The property is always well taken care of. Been here 3 years and only moving to purchase a home.
I stayed here for one year exactly, it was nothing less than an amazing stay. The staff is very on hand and professional! Quiet community with management/ maintenance crew that cares about their residents! Would recommend living here l.
First moving into the complex, the experience was great because it was my first time living in an apartment. Over the years since I have been here and watch management come and go my opinion differs a little. I have really watched the quality of this community go down. It seems as if management is more concern about quantity than quality people.
So unorganized and unprofessional. I never encountered a complex that doesnt communicate with Perspective tenants. They dont know any answers to any questions.
Well cleaned Gated community where you can detail your and wash it from 9am-9pm its a really nice area it has a swimming pool not far from walmart or different food places also near carowinds amusement park like 20 min away. The people are friendly and helpful. Some do have kids but they love to play with other kids. This is truly a nice area to live in
Nice clean communit . I have only had great experiences with the office. I love my little place and everything is a short drive.
Terrible customer service. Very unprofessional. DO NOT MOVE HERE . The lady Stephanie hung in my face when I requested a refund ..Was never even able to see the apartment I was supposed to move in until move in day...Things were falling apart. Very disappointed
DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! This place is over priced for the horrible quality apartment you will get. The ceiling is sooo thin that I can hear my upstairs neighbors walking all times of the night, along with hearing them using the bathroom. The walls are even thinner, I can hear my next door neighbors Iphone alarm going off through the wall at 5am. The gates are always broken. The parking lot is always packed and residents nearly ALWAYS double park. They over charge you for your water usage and don’t get me started on the bugs. Kiss opening your patio door goodbye, unless you don’t mind sharing your space with spiders, water bugs and all other insects. The staff members here are not very helpful in the office and they only have one maintenance man on staff. What looks like a good deal is not worth the headache. I would rather pay higher prices at other apartments then renew my lease here. That is actually my plan. To pay more for an actual luxury apartment, because ultimately you get what you pay for and all you get here is misery.
When I first started living here I had a pretty bad experience which the apartment I was shown was not the apartment I recd. However, management did work things out for me. Since then my son and I love it! The neighbors are friendly, everyone watch out for each other by letting there neighbors know if they are going to be away. The office workers are always friendly and willing to help. The property grounds keepers keep the property looking good and clean. The apartment are very nice and spacious.
Price was decent for location. Staff needs training. Pool is never open, something is always broke.
I am about to renew my lease. I moved here to be closer to work back in September. The rent was $795. Sounded great until all of the fees and extra charges add up. The gates stay broke, the compactor for trash stays broke and Ive had to call maintenance 10+ times for something. The walk ways on the 1st floor stay flooded with water and dirt, and the parking is terrible. Its like there are more cars than parking spots, I rarely park near my actual building. Thankfully maintenance is one positive thing so far. I will just pray for some positive changes to come since my rent is going up significantly. I am in no position to find another place to stay right now.
The year I lived was okay when I first moved in but I didnt realize how bad management was. I only think I liked one of the Ashley because she wasnt rude at all. This was my first apartment and what a horrible experience it was. I was ready for my lease to be up and I thought I rushed when choosing this place. Crystal the manager was the worst and had her discretion in certain things. Only reason I wouldnt recommend this property is because of her. Management can make or break an apartment experience. I would never rent with bell partners again. Make your residents like where they and not hate living in the community. Also my Duke energy bill went up 200.00 for my A/C unit. The maintenance man said it was 7 years old and still dont know why it wasnt fixed before I moved in.
Dont move here .... its that simple. I moved to Northlake from out of state early last year and I was excited and I was impressed with the leasing agent Charles (no longer with the company). He put my mind at ease and my apartment was ready for move in. Fast forward about 6 to 8 months, the apartment community changed from Carroll Management to Arium/Atrium Management (mind you our rent notices still come in under Carroll Management). This is when things took a turn for the worst. About a month after the management change the gates never seemed to work which means they were opened all day and night. I came home from a class around 10pm and there were 3 random men just standing in weird places in the parking lot. Not near one another, not saying anything just standing. This made me extremely nervous and I pretty much parked my car and ran in the house. The next morning 4 cars were stolen from the parking lot, as evident by the hangers in the parking lot that they used to pop the locks. The next day my neighbors car got stolen in broad daylight...BROAD DAYLIGHT! If he didnt have Onstar he never wouldve gotten that car back. Also, with the management change came new residents. The best way I can say this is, the caliber of residents DEFINITELY changed. There is ALWAYS trash in the parking lot. Ive witnessed people cleaning out their cars and throwing the trash in the parking lot. Last week I came home and someone changed their kids diaper in the car, got out of the car and threw the diaper on to the grass. Yes, this was a resident and not a visitor I know this to be true because this particular resident lives in my building. Another thing to mention is that since the new caliber of residents moved in, the gates NEVER work, which means the visitor situation is not being monitored. There are cars parked near buildings that have been in this lot FOR WEEKS. No one has claimed these vehicles and Ive reported to the office at least 3 times...no action taken. Parking spaces are smaller than they should be and visitors double park DAILY!! I pay rent here and oftentimes cannot find a space. Yesterday I came home from work and there were 2 men arguing in the parking lot because one believed the other smoked all of his illegal substance while he was at work. I cant make this stuff up and believe me when I say when I first moved here this DID NOT OCCUR, or else I wouldve broken my lease and moved immediately. The office staff . . . . . lets just say . . . . no one knows anything and everyone has to check with the property manager and 98% of the time you hear nothing back from her AT ALL.I cant leave a review without mentioning the one bright spot at this community. The maintenance staff is PHENOMENAL!! Both men were extremely nice when I moved in, answered all my questions and fix the minor issues Ive experienced within 24 hours. One maintenance technician even called me after-hours to be sure my new fire alarm hadnt given me any issues. They are very nice, knowledge, hard working gentlemen.Per the previous reviews, when i first moved we had no problems with the trash compactor or bulk trash, but again when the management changed, everything changed. We have a huge dumpster that partially blocks traffic sitting in our parking lot with a bunch of bulk garage around it.If I could rate this complex with no stars I would and this is all because I know how great it was to live here when I first moved here.
Ive called the Northlake Apartment home for the last 10 months;my experience has been nothing but positive. The entire staff has been extremely helpful especially during my transition for relocation. Its great to know the staff remembers your name. The maintenance respond time is usually within 24 hours and for emergencies its been as quick as 2 hours. Actually didnt value the level of service from the Northlake staff until I visited other properties and experienced poor service. I would recommend Northlake Apartments to my friends and family. Both Ashley and Christy have to great to work with.
Too bad I had to give them even one star, worst experience I’ve ever had in an Appartment complex. It’s fair to say they should remove the luxury from there add. My initial interaction with the leasing team was but good but that did not last. They are unprofessional when it comes to communicating, always trying to act like I gotch you, I will say Charles was always friendly and that’s about it. They need to do a better job of ensuring the gates work, power washing the walk ways since there is always dog poop, and maybe do something about the flower beds the grounds needs a face lift.Just don’t be fooled
I still wonder how they are still doing business.. So bad the customer service is there. The opticians are nice but the people the rets of the service is just horribly awful.. Its like they dont want to work there and that youre bothering them. Also knowledge of people handling the insurance is dismal Oh well you get what you pay for.. . Lesson learned Id rather go to a very expensive place and have proper service next time.
This place has the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced from a place ever..Me and my girl was supposed to move here August 8th...Didn’t see the place until the day of move in, was nothing like what we saw in the model and on tours..Paint falling off of cabinets, dishwasher was dismantled..Can’t even get a hold of anybody on the phone, and Stephanie Hung oil in my face when I called to request a refund..DO NOT MOVE HERE
******DO NOT MOVE HERE*******Moved here last June. In December the sprinkler systems pipes burst on the roof of my building. This caused my kitchen to flood and the roof collapsed. They still have not made any repairs. No one was empathetic to the situation at all. No one has taken responsibility. We asked to be compensated on the rent. Their response was renters insurance paid for the 6 days we weren’t staying in the apartment. And that the sprinkler system pipes bursting was a act of God. I have never dealt with a company in my life that doesn’t take accountability or doesn’t show any empathy. I don’t recommend moving here. And I will not resign my lease. Moral of the story. EVERYTHING THAT LOOKS GOOD ISNT GOOD! Never made a late payment. Never caused any disturbance. This is a real disappointment. This is not a good look for the new company Carroll Management that just took over this property. DO BETTER!!!
The worst management ever do not move here. They should be sue very unprofessional and does not care about their residence. I am planning to go to court and take legal action against them what they did to me is so sad. It’s private but trust me they deserve no stars. I will see them in court I’m DONE trying to be nice
We moved to this property because there are very few 3 bedroom properties in our budget. It definitely wouldnt have been our first choice. The price per square foot is ridiculous. After 6 months I am beyond ready to leave. Gym is soooo small, pool is never opened. Staff is rude and never answers the phone. I once received a notification from the leasing office that the maintenance staff had come in an sprayed for bugs after we filled out a service request. They email had the exact date and time that the maintenance staff had supposedly come into our apartment. Only thing was that I was home the ENTIRE day and at no point did maintenance ever come in and spray. They finally came a week later! I make sure that our apartment is clean and livable but the bugs here have been crazy! I have killed ants in the kitchen, spiders in nearly every room and these terrifying 2 inch-long House Centipedes. I find them in my room and in my clothes. Absolutely disgusting!!And dont get me started on the gate situation. In most cases I would appreciate a security gate, but I guess it would only matter if the entire property were surrounded by a fence. People walk in and out of the property all the time! And the only way a guest can get in the gate is if they call your number and you buzz them in. But the phone MUST be a land-line, and who uses land-lines anymore!Long story short- happy to be leaving, if you have another option stay away.
Very bad customer service, different price I believe depending if they know you,or only family members discount,I lot cars braking. One bedroom apartment $885 plus water and gas $1000. the funny thing is this apartment are old. Im glad I put camera inside of my apartment because they love going thru apartment with out you permission I have video just in case they denied. Must of my neighbor around my apartment they smoking I lot!!! My apartment It smells like marijuana everyday.
****dont move here*****I have lived here 6 months and I hear gun shots late night at least once a week. The gate call box malfunctions so I can’t even into myown complex, and even though it’s the company’s fault that it is malfunctioning they refuse to leave the gate open even though they only supply one gate card per household and it’s $50 for a replacement. I work at a bar and work weird hours... I do not feel comfortable walking from front office to my apartment alone at 3am, so that says something. My toilet runs constantly, they did adjust my first bill however it took a month and then i was just told because of the company change that the new water company will not adjust my bill even if it’s way higher than previous bills. So now my next water bill is going to be just as high and I’m at fault? All my windows were painted shut when I moved in. I had a huge water leak in my w/d closet and they didn’t fix it for 2 weeks and they didn’t even fix it they just covered it up so I’m sure there’s just mold growing.... I can hear everything my neighbors are doing at all times. Parking is ALWAYS sparse. They don’t notify you when you have a package at the office. The only good thing about living here is the office people and maintenance are friendly. I will not be resigning and I am contemplating breaking my lease because it’s that bad and I don’t know if I can handle 6 more months. Pet deposit is $400 and I just paid it after getting a puppy. This is the only reason I may stick out the 6 months... I repeat DO NOT MOVE HERE
Charles has been very helpful! Maintenance requests are processed quickly.
I came in a year ago with a check ready to sign a lease. I feel in love with the place before I had even visited the place. I couldnt believe how rude the leasing agents were. They acted as if they couldnt care less about me being there. I asked to see a few different layouts and they acted as if I was asking for a kidney. I left and went to my current residence across the street and I couldnt be happier with the place I live. I just wish they would have had a better leasing team, I would have given them the chance if I had felt like they truly wanted me there. What a shame.
