La Vie SouthPark is a beautiful property replete with a pool and also a pond and outdoor walking and sitting area with foliage all around. It’s located directly in the Piedmont shopping area and is reasonably priced for the area. What makes La Vie really special is the staff. Gabrielle is amazing and so accommodating. She is both professional and personable. Having viewed lots of apartments moving around a lot, this is not very common. Gabrielle made certain to answer all my questions and ensure I was satisfied with all the information I needed. Don’t hesitate to connect with this property if you’re in the market for a great apartment with remarkable amenities and a great staff to boot!
LaVie was one of my most favorite places that I have lived in Charlotte! It’s within walking distance of lots of restaurants and brewery. I loved my daily walk through the neighborhood on Barclay Downs and being able to walk to the mall for a gift or a little closet update. The amenities were beautiful and we loved attending events in the Clubhouse and by the pool!
I loved my residency at LaVie. The staff was always nice and attentive to needs and the walkability of the neighborhood is a plus! My pup also enjoyed the Dog Park!
LaVie is a one of a kind community in South Park! The location is great, walking distance from everything needed and only a few minutes from Uptown Charlotte. They offer great amenities as well as unique floor plans, I am so happy I chose to live here. The staff has been exceptional, Katie is very friendly and responsive! I would recommend LaVie to others.
LaVie is an awesome community. I cant say enough good things about how friendly the office and maintenance staff are. The walkability is perfect for me and my dog. Amenities are very well kept.
Current resident, have lived her since September 2020 for a lease until my new home is finished in April 2021. Terrific location, cant be beat for access to everything. Apartment is comfortable and spacious, great dog park and pool (although wish it was heated). LaVie has terrific amenities, dog park, pool, gym with space for yoga or video workout, communal kitchen, valet garbage. I use them all extensively and they are well maintained. Community events sponsored by husband and wife team who live here (even in COVID they were able to create something fun while keeping us safe). While the apartments could use a little sprucing up (hence the 4 star vs. 5 star) they are well maintained and maintenance team is very responsive. New management since January 2021 has been very responsive to my requests and communicates with residents well. I would renew if I were not moving into a home. My daughter lives here as well and is renewing.
Awesome community in a great area. Some of the best amenities I have seen thus far. Office staff is very friendly and rent is affordable.
Tara and Christina (the management) have been so gracious and thorough in helping me get all settled. The communication has been swift and thorough! This is also a great location and close walking distance to amazing establishments. Great place!
This place is beautiful and their staff are awesome and location is perfect! If you’re looking for a apartment in charlotte this is it. We are super happy we moved here!
If you are looking for a place to live definitely check out Lavie SouthPark. Lavie not only helps makes the moving process seamless, but living here comfortable as well. Not really much to complain about.
Luxury is right!! The best apartment complex in SouthPark, top of the line.
Beautiful community and great staff!
I would not recommend anyone to move into these apartments. I’ve had the most horrible experience I’ve ever had in my life. I originally came to Charlotte a month ago to look at places. I found Lavie and was pleased with my choice. On April 12,2021 i went to go pick up my keys to the unit. Upon walking into the unit i was immediately dissatisfied. There was a lot of wear and tear and no attempt to look decent. I immediately went back down stairs and advised i did not like the unit and it will not be the one for me. I even stated i would like to get out of the lease all together. Tara which is the assistant manager stated i was tied into the lease but she can show me a different unit. I still didn’t love the unit but i accepted it for what it was. While searching daily i saw a unit to come available that was bigger and be a better choice for me. I called Tara and advised i would like this new unit and i am willing to pay the difference in rent. Tara said she’s going to check with manager and give me a call back. Tara calls me back and said yes it’s fine i can go into the new unit and the funds of $2032 would be credited to my account. My new move in date was the 20th of March. On the day of I go into the office to get keys to unit and this is where is went down hill. Tara is already acting strange but I’m paying it no mind. She’s going over the check list and says we have everything but your payment. I said my payment ? She says yea the new prorated rent and deposit by. So they wanted another $1777 from me. I said Tara you told me the money i already laid $2032 would be applied. Tara replies it’s in the email i sent you. Not only are they asking for an additional $1777 because the claim they can’t move to another racking but they also charged me prorated rent from the 14th -20th and stated i would be getting a refund in 31-60 days. Tara goes to the back and send Christina ( Karen) to speak with me. Let’s just say Christina tries to cover for her coward employee and tell me I’m lying. I went off ! This has been the worst experience i have ever had with an apartment complex ever ! I would not recommend these to anyone
I had not lived in an apartment for many years and was pleasantly surprised with what I found at LaVie. The rental agents were most helpful, very friendly, and professional. My move was seamless. I am very thankful for the security we have at LaVie. The social chairmen have been lovely. Activities are good and seem to have several participants. I am extremely impressed by how quickly any of my requests are furfilled. The property is lovely and well maintained. All in all, I am very happy with my life at LaVie
I am a professional young working mother who moved into LaVie post divorce. The first year was fine. After that, neighbors moved in who smoke pot on about a daily basis and have loud get togethers at least twice a month. I have complained repeatedly to management as I have younger kids to no avail. The security office went over there once but nothing happened. The pot smell is rampant all the time. I finally couldn’t take it anymore and found another place to live for my kids’ sake. I gave them 60 days’ notice and they are still trying to charge me the additional 4,400 for last two months of rent. If they had cured the illegal drug use on their property, I wouldn’t have to move out in the first place. It is a hassle to move out as it and find a place in the same school district for my kids. I have asked to speak to someone with corporate multiple times with no response other than “we would love to see you stay. Can we interest you in another apartment here?” Incredibly disappointed with the property management company for their response. I am a responsible adult who simply cannot live here anymore because of their failure to address illegal drug use. At a minimum, allow me to break my lease. I would not recommend this property.
We have had an amazing time here so far! Management is great and maintenance is amazing always fast to finish the work order! Our pups have also enjoyed all the fun pet amenities so veryyyy pet friendly!
Nine months in and recen through the pandemic, everything has been great. The staff has done everything they can to keep spirits up. Amenities have reopened under guidelines. Trash is picked up nightly. Even with everyone home, I’ve never lived anywhere that has been so quiet.
LaVie is in the perfect location and the apartments have amazing features (like their huge walk in closets and custom built in shelving)! Nashiria has been extremely helpful, friendly and prompt, making the entire application and move in process seamless! Highly recommend!
Maybe I’m just not the apartment type but this place isn’t all its hyped up to be.It looks nice from first glance. It’s really not secure. They made it seem like you can only get in with a fob. Not true, you can walk right in the lobby, and on to the elevator, to any floor without a fob. In addition, the stairwell scanners are always broken, so anyone can access without a key fob. I’ve been here for 6 months, thankful to be moving out next week. There have been 4 cars broken into, and my apartment has had a leaky roof TWICE. When hurricane Florence came thru I was out of town, I came home to water dripping from the AC vent in the living room, all over my wood furniture. Maintenance came and brought a trash can to catch the water, never heard anything after that. Now, Hurricane Michael is coming thru, and the water is dripping in my living room again. Maintenance came, again with just a trash can, and said, “yeah they never got around to fixing the roof last time” WHAT THE HELL? An apartment was flooding, and you just never got around to fixing it, and now it’s happening again and just bring a dinky trash can up again to help. I wonder who is going to pay for my furniture…..Last, please fully prepare if you rent an apartment in here, anyone from the staff is more than willing to let themselves in as needed, and not leave a note. They tell you they will leave a note any time they enter your apartment. I have had at least 3-4 times when I have come home, and my furniture has been shifted, dry wall dust on the floor where they did some work without telling me. I would message them, and they would reply with “oh yeah cable guys were in there updating modem, they should have left a note.” Good to know after the fact when I see all my stuff messed with.
Great experience so far. We just moved in a month ago, and the room was in virtually pristine condition when we arrived. We are very impressed with the maintenance and leasing office staff. The neighborhood and surrounding area of Piedmont Row are beautiful. Amenities are unmatched!
Excellent value. Best location. Great service. Beautiful amenities.I have been living at LaVie for over two years and Id be hard pressed to leave. I live in a one bedroom corner apartment facing the pool. The apartment is extremely quiet. I barely ever hear my neighbors or their pets. The hallways and community areas are always kept pristine. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Maintenance always comes the very next day with no issues. In my opinion, it is the best location in Charlotte, easy commute anywhere in the city, quiet and beautiful neighborhood with restaurants and shopping close by. Love the Polk layout. Selling point for me was laundry in the beyond ample sized walk through closet (its practically like having another room)! Parking has never been an issue, usually always spots on my floor. The locker system for packages works well and is very convenient. In my time here they have made improvements to the internet, business center, pool area, etc and continue to work hard to keep this place a great place to live for their residents. LaVie is also family friendly- many young couples with children. If you prefer a peaceful and quiet place to live (like myself) as opposed to the many places you may find in South End, this is the place for you.My only complaint is my hair seems extremely sensitive to the water quality. I have a very difficult time getting it clean since moving here and have spent a good amount of money on a shower water filter and various products to no avail.LaVie will not disappoint, as long as they continue to keep their price point.
Location great. Building and amenities decent. Do not rent anywhere near the fitness center. There are regulars who will wake you up at 4am by dropping dumbbells. Management does not care and is not very responsive. There are better options.
Rare availability of split 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit that faces a grove of trees, a retaining pond AND setting sun! Unit faces west/south and gets evening sun. Enjoy a lovely view and dinner, drinks or dessert on the balcony! Great amenities including covered garage parking, pool, gym and more (e.g., valet trash pickup). Also, secure and convenient Luxor package delivery system for your Amazon orders. Convenient SouthPark location: walk to cleaners, gym, nail salon, mall and even Whole Foods. Worth every penny!
Advertised as non-smoking. The neighbor below me smoked. I reported multiple times and the issue never stopped. Front office did say they sent him letters and fines but it never stopped and they gave me the impression they did not want to have to evict. Walls are thin like most apartments. Your experience will largely be based on who your neighbors are. Person above me stomped like an elephant. Overall, the apartments are the nicest Ive lived in and the parking deck is nice too, just be careful of people flying through there. Secure package delivery is a very nice feature and the gym actually has more machines than just a treadmill and free weights.
Have enjoyed living here so far. Common areas are kept clean. Good security with gated parking and Key Fob access points. Nice floorplans as well. Being on the top floor is nice as well as it has been quiet.
So far so good. I love the floor plan of my apartment and the amenities are awesome. My only complaint is that there are no trash cans in front for dog poop.
It’s been a great experience living at the LaVie. Amenities are great! Beautiful floor plans!I came from Southend, I’m 30 and still enjoy the southend area, but I just love the more mature neighbors we get here. The staff from the office to the maintenance are always prompt to respond to my requests. The building is well maintained and I haven’t had any issues so far. I’ve been here for 3 months, had to move from a 2 bed to 1 bedroom apt, they worked with me and I did not have to pay crazy extra fees like other buildings will charge you.
Great location to shops and restaurants that are walkable. The amenities are nice. Covered parking is a plus. The apartment finish out is very appealing to the eye. The only downside so far is that you hear lots of noise between the floors and the bathroom plumbing when it drains.
We lived here for seven months and it was a great experience. The staff is very courteous and prompt in their response. They have good starbucks coffee that is complimentary. Also the gym is really nice. Loved our stay there.
It’s the best I ever stayed it’s relaxing, silent and have a nature views.
Im in a 1BR Edenton model and its a great open layout. The kitchen is a good size with plenty of storage space and the living room is setup nicely for entertainment. Efficient floor plan and I really like the top/bottom W/D setup. The gym has great equipment and is very clean. The staff is very friendly and Im happy to be a resident.
Its a great location and the rent price was fair. The building itself is poorly constructed. I could hear the person living on the floor above me walking around all the time and when they flushed the commode.
Its not built well, the glassware rattles when the upstairs neighbor walks around, it has cheap plastic flooring that scratches, its not soundproof AT ALL.... the corridors are nasty. I couldnt wait to get out of there. I HATED IT. Dont make the same mistake so many people did, do some research on the history of this building. Dont be fooled by the beautiful lobby and the fun dog park..
Fantastic location, modern and stylish amenities, extra helpful and responsive management, ultra clean, very easy parking with multiple floors, great social events, quiet apartments. Premium lifestyle that is hard to find - occupancy 99%.
I love LaVie Southwark. Convenient location, nice stuff and interiors and decors in the building are awesome. Enjoy fresh Starbucks coffee everyday.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here at LaVie! Staff is great, maintenance is great, rental rate is great!
Liked the vibe and overall floor plans.
Had a horrible experience and feel DisrespectedNoise in my apartment from water issues in the building Literally ruined my life there
I waited until leaving LaVie to write a review as I wanted to give a full honest review. LaVie did not ask us to write this, I am writing it simply because we had such a great experience, for the following reasons:1. The Location: it simply cannot be beat. The apartments are in a quiet enclave within busy Southpark, with Piedmont Circle and Legion Brewing literally a one minute walk away. Having South Park Mall a 5 minute walk away was also super convenient. Right behind the building is a beautiful pond and dog park.2. The Staff: everyone working at Lavie is both professional and friendly. Everyone at the front desk was helpful every time we stoped by, and the maintenance team is also great. Also the couple leading community events are amazing. They go above and beyond with every event and truly work to make everyone feel welcome.3. The Apartments: I do not know if it the type of building construction but we never heard our neighbors which was great and not always the case in apartments. The cabinetry and counters are all modern and in great condition. The building also has a couple atypical apartment layouts that are really cool.4. Amenities: Love the valet trash. The gym also is modern and was never too busy. Pool and outdoor grills were great too. In terms of what could be better we could not think of much that could be improved. Sometimes people would park outside the parking garage gate which leaves it stuck open which could be annoying, but that was a resident issue, not LaVies and they were taking steps to address that.I would happily and highly recommend LaVie to anyone. Thanks LaVie for everything!
This is definitly a great place to live in, the neighborhood is awesome and full of great restaurant within walking distance, great apartment and very nice staff!
I lived here for a year. There are definite pros but you can also do much better for the price. I moved to Charlotte sight unseen so essentially rented this online and over the phone. The leasing rep who is no longer there lied to me on several points so I didn’t get off to a great start. For pros, the community is new and everything works as it should. Maintenance responsive to requests from what I can tell and I had very few which is a good thing. Great area with lots of things close by, even walking distance. Nice amenities. Pool and lobby Starbucks coffee machine and covered parking all very nice. They have a couple who run a “Cares” team which plans nice events and they are very nice people.Negatives that are minor include the fact that the wall from bedroom to living space is not floor to ceiling so it’s a privacy wall essentially. If the living area has the TV on you hear it in the bedroom like you’re in the same room. Weird the wall doesn’t go to the ceiling which creates a studio scenario instead of a one bedroom. Nice big kitchen sink has such low water pressure you have to force things into the disposal and clean sink after every use. Security isn’t great, several months ago business center computers stolen and never replaced. In the past year, more of a fraternity house atmosphere with vomit in the lobby and garbage in hallways. Couldn’t open my windows because a pot smoker moved in close by and the smell came in my place. Drunken screaming in the hallways at 3 AM on weekends. Just stuff you’d rather not deal with in community living. But by far the biggest negative issue is absolutely no soundproofing to the upstairs neighbor. You hear every step they take, every door slam, even plumbing pipe noise. For this price point to me that’s inexcusable. I can tell you when my upstairs neighbor woke up, came home, went to the bathroom. Loud enough to wake you up in the middle of the night. Unless you can live on the top floor I would never live here. Got a place a little more expensive in exact same area with cement between floors and couldn’t be more happy. But if you do live there, when you move in you’re on your own. They will not do a walk through and will hand you the keys and say good luck. I was asked multiple times by lost looking people where the service elevator, trash chute and mailboxes were as they tried to move in. I was in the same boat when I moved in. So sign the lease and you’re a number unless you’re in their face which I wasn’t. I also filled out multiple property surveys the same as this review and heard nothing. So in summary, if top floor is not available or you are immune to loud noises from upstairs, this will not be a good experience for the price charged.
Love the area and all the amenities!
The building itself and the apartment layout is very nice. The maintenance personnel are the best. We had a smoke/gas alarm that went off int he middle of the night. After a message was left with the emergency number the maintenance guy called right back and said not to worry that there was no gas in the building so it must be a false alarm. About a week before we moved out the heat stopped working in January. The maintenance guy came out twice that night to make sure it was working. Turns out the original heating element on the unit had never been connected. While using the heat we had been utilizing the emergency heat strips the whole winter. Luckily he was able to get it working for us that night. The construction and design of the building is very poor. The sewage line for our one bedroom ran right down the bedroom wall. Being on the second floor you heard sewage running down the inside of the wall everytime someone flushed a toilet. The building has synthetic vinyl floors that look like hardwoods. They are very from everyone walking around. We could hear the people above us all the time and the lady below us would constantly bang on her ceiling at us within five minutes of being home. Security of the building was my biggest concern. We had our vehicles broken into twice within one month. Theives can access any floor of the gated parkng deck through the visitor parking stairwell. I brought this up to management when moving out. They had no idea that you could use the stairwell to have unrestricted access to the gated garage. They never would send out emails to the residents notifying them of breakins to cars. A generic email went out from quoting the police department on how to stay safe. Management should have been upfront with all tenants about what was going on. All other doors to the building have key fob access which is nice. There were several instances of things being stolen out of the lobby such as computers because the theives were able to follow someone in. The rent a cops that they hired part time were too little too late.
Pros:- Fair prices in a great location- Well kept amenities and apartments- Helpful staff and friendly neighborsCons:- Have to purchase Spectrum TV & internet package + valet trashOverall:Were happy we chose LaVie over the other apartment communities we looked at
For the most part this is a great community to live in, however there are times when the leasing office feels a bit disorganized. The amenities are great though and the location cant be beat.
Brand new, great amenities, beautiful property, amazing management.
Great place to rent in Charlotte!
Would give 0 Stars.
