NEW RENTERS BEWARE! NEW OWNERSHIP! Moved into my apartment three weeks ago while it was managed by Bell Partners. My move in and living experience have started off TERRIBLY. Here are a list of the things you might experience when you move the HUB:1. A broken sink. Water leaked into my living room floor on the day I moved in. They temporarily fixed it, but I had no water in my kitchen for about 5 days.2. A dirty apartment. Dead bugs in the bath tub and fridge. Food crumbs on the floor. Dust and hair in the apartment. I dealt with sneezing from the pet hair/dust. My friend with allergies struggled when staying over just this week.3. Little to no move in instructions. Keys left in the wrong lock box (for which the codes are super easy to guess).4. Electrical issues. It took two weeks and contacting regional management to them to finally prioritize getting power to my master bedroom/bathroom.5. Broken trim on the balcony door. Tough to even close it.6. Dishwasher didnt turn on/work.7. Window not fully functional. Another window was missing its trim.8. Rowdy residents/lack of cleanliness. Expect trash and beer cans in the hallways. Broken glass in a hallway and puke in a stairwell have been there for days now. Noise limited to hallways mostly.9. Limited parking in lot. Expected in south end, but it is what it is.10. No courtesy officer. Call 911 if you have any qualms with your neighbors after hours.11. Limited security. A set of doors dont fully close, allowing for anyone to open the doors and access the building. Make sure to lock your residence. My apartment was vacant for a full month before moving in, but there was not enough staffing to make sure it was ready for move in. I am pretty sure maintenance is still short staffed. Living at the HUB affected my living and productivity at work for the first couple of weeks (no power/internet). Most of my individual apartment issues have finally been addressed, but it is a shame they dont have the resources to the HUB spectacular.
One star for the horrendous parking lot. My car was hit by someone and they left a fake note. My husbands car got his windshield wiper ripped off and broken into. Most nights I couldn’t find parking and would sprint inside hoping to not get snatched. The apartments are in a SKETCHY location. Interesting individuals who clearly didn’t live in the apartment were wandering the halls/ parking lot and smoking inside stinking up the halls and leaving beer cans. The pool is also shared by other apartments which they won’t disclose to you when you move in. It’s like a college frat party every weekend and the pool is small. The building has awful ventilation and all your things will mildew. Oh and due to construction you’ll lose power once a month. Can’t forget to mention the many times I almost stepped in puke/pee in the elevator or stairwell. Didn’t get my deposit back and had to pay extra for the carpet when I left. 0/10 don’t recommend.
Similarly to a comment below, Im very disheartened by my experience at The Hub. I moved out recently and left the apartment in good, clean condition. A few weeks later, I was given my final bill, where they charged an extravagant cleaning fee, in addition to a $500 dollar charge to replace the carpets, all on top of keeping my entire security deposit. I was instructed to pay the bill on the online portal.Less than two weeks later, I received an email from a COLLECTIONS AGENCY about not pay the outstanding bill. I now have a knock on my credit for this... I was not reminded by The Hub of the outstanding balance, and there was no due date on the bill received from The Hub. After paying rent on time for the entirety of my time at The Hub, youd think it would be appropriate of them to send a reminder email about the bill before sending it to a collections agency. Additionally, the day I received the collections notice, I attempted to log onto The Hub portal to pay the balance. They had closed down the portal and there was no way to pay the bill.In addition, there was always pee in the elevators.
We lived here for 1 year - the apartments itself is really great - spacious and nice design. Unfortunately the experience living here does not match up. Great pool, but could hardly use it because of college parties that took over every weekend, mainly by guests and not by the residents. The pool area is often a mess after these with people not cleaning up after themselves. Trash collection is a disaster with trash rooms often overflowing. I feel sorry for the guy that has to clean this up every day - he obviously needs help and residents living here don’t make it easy. The mail room is another disaster- good luck finding your package. But if you are in your 20’s and just looking for a place to do whatever you want, the Hub will be a great fit!
They allow tenants to treat hallways as their own personal dumpsters. Trash is littered outside apartments at all times with no enforcements of the fines and rules. Similar to a frat house rather than the high-end apartments they advertise.
Living at The Hub is a whole Vibe! My apartment is open & spacious, with a tremendous amount of sunlight. It is perfect for hosting guests; as there’s a beautiful island upon entering. The amenities are top notch, from the pool to the gym, and my favorite, the common area fully equipped with a Starbucks machine and private work spaces. The staff are ALWAYS friendly and conversational. Shout out to Melissa, Alex & Lyndsay for greeting me with a smile everyday and always being so helpful
So happy I made the decision to move to Hub South End! If you are looking for a brand new complex with a beautiful white and clean look with tons of natural light you’ve found your new home at The Hub! Beautiful pool area, brand new top of the line gym equipment, plenty of places around to walk to and it’s pet friendly! On top of the great new building you also get an awesome office staff that is super nice and always willing to help. I personally worked with Lyndsey from the beginning and she has been absolutely amazing and so helpful! You truly can’t go wrong with moving here!
What an amazing experience we’ve had with this property! The units here are by far the best is SouthEnd and couldn’t be more convenient to the local area. Walkable to tons or restaurants, bars and outdoor activity. The entire team is so proactive and does a meticulous job at maintaining the property and amenities. Germaine and the maintenance team are responsive with every request and are always working around the clock to make sure the property is in prime condition. Thank you Alex, Lyndsey, Melissa, Nicole and the rest of the team for making The Hub feel like Home!
Hub is the best new apartment in Charlotte by far. The leasing staff is extremely helpful and the maintenance requests are followed up with in a timely manner. The parking is easy and my guests have never had problems with street parking.I also enjoy how clean they keep the apartment complex and the grounds. I’ve visited some of my friends at other apartment complexes and can tell the difference in what a good clean apartment complex is vs. one that isn’t.One more thing is they always have resident events. Recently they had drip joint ( a coffee bar that also served breakfast), a cycle class, and cousins maine lobster among the many other things! They really go above and beyond to make living here feel high end.The only issue is amazon leaves the packages outside the parcel lockers but I’ve witnessed the leasing staff putting them in the box and cleaning up after them on multiple occasions so not really the apartments fault.
Love making use of the lap pool and gym. The podcast room has nice space great for starting a new podcast. The best part of living here is the amazing staff who are always so quick to handle questions and issues. Melissa, Lyndsey, Alex and Nicole go above and beyond to make this place feel like home.
It’s okay but not worth the price. Parking is very scarce (which is extremely annoying) and the common areas are not always very clean. There are frequent issues with the parking arms, door entry and key FOB systems. The staff isn’t always very friendly (with the exception of a few) which is disappointing. I have lived here almost 7 months and they have still not installed the keyless entry every unit is supposed to have, although I have requested multiple times. Overall I’d say this is a disappointing experience for such a new complex. I do not plan on renewing my lease here unless a lot of things change for the better.
I am so happy with my decision to live at the Hub. The location is great, and the brand new amenities, including the gym and pool are wonderful. Maintenance performs any work requests in a timely manner, and the property is always clean. I would like to give a special mention to Alex, Lyndsey, and Nicole for their level of professionalism and willingness to help when necessary.
Hub South End is a great complex. The office staff was awesome to work with, very friendly and willing to answer any questions. The apartments are more spacious than you might expect and the modern white and gray interior finishes look amazing! The location gives you access to tons of restaurants, breweries, grocery stores, and other activities that are within walking distance or just a short drive away. There is also plenty of parking for guests, a beautiful pool area, and it is pet friendly! Definitely the best new complex in South End!
I love the amenities that HUB Southend has to offer! The pool is BEST lap pool I have ever been in and you can tell that alot of thought was put into the design of everything. I have enjoyed the relaxing feel and vibe of this community. Its upscale, yet comfortable. I would recommend this apartment community to anyone that is looking.
Lyndsey and Melissa were BEYOND helpful with the process, and completely transparent. I’ve been a Charlotte resident for 4 years and I’ve moved 4 times. This was the best experience I’ve had. Additionally, the amenities here are top notch and the location is perfect.
Hub South End is a great complex with new and updated facilities. However, they did not put in working security gates for their parking lot which opens it to the public. Multiple nights I have been woken up by non residents hanging around in the parking lot.
Melissa, Lyndsey, Alex and Nicole were very helpful in finding the perfect apartment for us and answering any questions we had quickly. Hub is in the perfect central location in south end to walk to anything. Very highly recommend checking out!
The experience of moving into Hub was made so easy because of the staff! Especially Melissa, who is always able to help whether it be just answering questions or submitting maintenance requests. The property is kept very clean and hasn’t stopped impressing me yet!
I just moved in a couple of weeks ago and I love it here! The staff was extremely helpful (especially because Im extremely needy lol) and friendly. I absolutely love my apartment. The finishes are definitely unmatched. The location is amazing and in walking distance to all of my favorite restaurants. You wont regret living here!
I have loved living here so far! Lindsey at the front desk ya sheen very helpful and helped the move in process go smoothly. The building is new and it’s fscilities maintained nicely.
I live here and was towed for “occupying” 2 spots. The “owner” has a boat in the parking lot taking up 3 spots and was added to the do not tow list. This place sucks don’t live here.
Having the best experience moving into a new apartment because of the great services provided. Lyndsey is in particular helpful in answering all my questions and offering help!
Overall, I highly recommend living here. Parking is easy and not an issue at all, ample street parking for guests, huge floorplans, great amenities.Upon moving in, and being the first resident in my unit, I did run into a number of minuscule, anticipated new building issues - all of which were remediated within 24 hours of submitting a work order. The on site maintenance staff members are awesome.Office staff is always extremely friendly and willing to help. Personally, I worked with Alex, one of the leasing managers, on countless instances where he was always willing and able to help - by phone or email, whether he was at the office working or not.The building and grounds are beautiful and well kept, even while being a still active construction site. You will not find nicer amenities and a better location in South End than at Hub.
My apartment hunting process and moving experience was made so easy by Hub. Lyndsey, one of the Leasing Consultants made my overall experience enjoyable and stress free!!
Love this place! Keep up the great work! Nicole, Alex, Lindsey, Melissa and Germain are the best!
Hub south end is a beautiful property. Nicole and her team do an amazing job managing the community.
Great community! Friendly staff! Awesome aesthetic! This place is definitely A VIBE. Nicole, Alex, Lindsey, Melissa and Germain are always so helpful!
Hub Southend is a newer complex in the Southend area so there are obviously growing pains with moving into a new building that being said slapping a building together as fast as possible is not part of growing pains. There are clearly issues with the electrical wiring in the building. We will lose power randomly and the fire alarms will go off without warning when there is no fire in the building. Building mgmt originally placed the blame on construction or the weather but the alarms will go off now and construction is finished and we experience power outages even without inclement weather.Speaking on my unit specifically, there are several issues that should have been resolved before I stepped foot into my unit. First, the ethernet port for my main room was bad so I cannot hook up wireless in my main living space. The cord was in fact labeled bad. I brought it to the attention of mgmt and they sent construction up. Construction said the port was fine and said there would be follow up 3 days later. There never was and when I attempted to hook up my router in the space it did not work. The flooring is coming up in my main living area as well. It is so bad in some spaces you can see the subfloor. There was an abundance of things left by construction when I initially moved in as well. In all the units there is a wind tunnel noise. This is because there is no where for air to escape the structure which would have been an easy fix while building out. The complex has no screens on any floors either. We were told we could purchase our own and they might help with install. Lasty, I had ants. I live on the 3rd floor and had to purchase my own traps because pest control, that we pay for each month, will not spray with animals.Kara, who is the woman who signs up new tenants, has lied about almost everything I was told when I signed my lease. From what would be provided to us such as parking to the never ending additional charges adding my significant other to the lease. I am in sales as well and I would have been fired for lying to clients the way she is right now. There is no way to get ahold of upper mgmt to voice concerns and they have not offered anything outside of coffee and cookies for the constant inconveniences all of us have experienced living here.I am writing this because I look at reviews before I move in somewhere and I want to know what others have experienced. I will say you can find a building in the Southend with a similar price point and amenities where you will not have to deal with the headache Hub provides daily.
Great customer service and perfect location
