My daughters going to college and we had a Mother daughter spa day today. Giovanni was my daughters massage therapist and Jessica was my daughter esthetician! They both did a fantastic job! They made her feel welcome and did a great job! I had Chris as a massage therapist and Aby the owner was my esthetician! Loved loved our experience! The front desk staff was professional and friendly! The gift shop is full of beautiful little trinkets hats, sunglasses, jewelry and of course their amazing product lines for sale! A must spa to visit as a local or visitor! You won’t be disappointed!

I probably got the best massage Ive ever gotten there. My friends and I went a few weeks ago. My masseuse was Casey. I asked him if he could wear a mask and he was very respectful and put one on. He asked me what problem areas I had and I told him my shoulders. Omg! He focused the majority of my massage in my back, arms, and shoulders and it was absolutely amazing. Hes the first masseuse to really listen and work out the knots I had in my shoulders. I highly recommend the spa and Casey, especially. My friend also had an amazing experience, but I dont recall her masseuse. Ill definitely be coming back if Im in the Charleston area.

Every experience we have had there has been wonderful especially since we discovered the winning combination of Casey’s massages and Marina’s facials. This was to be my first massage post-Covid and the experience was overwhelmingly disappointing. Scheduled for a massage, I arrived there expecting to be given a robe and sandals to change into to relax before the treatment. I was told that robes were not given out unless the client had booked multiple services. My 90 minute massage did not count. So I sat there in my rain soaked clothes for 20 minutes. I had been caught in a downpour on the way there. Despite having been a good client for 5 years, I will not be rushing back there anytime soon.

I booked appointments for me and my closest family/friends to celebrate my 50th birthday after an online search for spas in the Charleston SC area. This was truly a gem of a find! The staff was extremely patient, helpful, and courteous with scheduling our appointments and when I inquired of hotels in the area as we were traveling from NC. We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing service treatments.

Wow! This place is incredible! I was visiting Charleston over Thanksgiving and my sister-in-law suggested we get massages. I was able to get a quick appointment and had the most incredible service! The masseuse was so professional; asking me about areas of concern and/or areas I wanted more concentration. She later disclosed that she was the owner! Her techniques were not only relaxing, but truly therapeutic. She was engaging, but also happy to let me enjoy the silence. There was a time difference between my SIL’s treatment ending and the owner let me stay in the treatment room and fully rest! When she came to get me, she had handwritten her recommendations for food and fun in Charleston!! Something she totally didn’t have to do, but it was incredibly thoughtful! She was so thoughtful about my post-holiday relaxation as well as my enjoyment of Charleston! From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, I was treated like a queen!!! Thank you so much!!!!

WOW, what an awesome hour of my day! First of all, the convenience of the location AND the complimentary parking in the back, alone, will have me coming back! That said, the facilities are very clean and they have great procedures in place to combat COVID. I had a 60minute massage with Casey...SO GOOD! Casey asked where my pain points were and spent the entire time catering to them. He quit literally took 5 lbs of pressure off of my neck/shoulders. Highly recommend both Earthling Day Spa and Casey! Scheduled a 1 1/2 deep tissue with a hand and feet add on. The team was very attentive to our asks. My therapist was changed the morning of for safety reasons and I was BLESSED to be assigned to Phil. Phil was UNBELIEVABLE!! His background in sports massage and reflexology was EXACTLY what my body needed. He was so responsive to my body and knew more about what my body habits were than I did, all based on how my body reacted. He was professional, kind, caring, and such an amazing soul. Esthetician yesterday added on a $40 mask without asking me or even hinting that it was extra. Owner so quick with responding to this problem with a refund and an apology. My wife and I had a wonderful time on our honeymoon booking a couples massage at Earthling Day Spa. Signing up for the massage was a simple process and we appreciated their safety procedures and quick screening for COVID-19. We arrived early and were able to begin our massages early. Our masseuses were kind, professional, and gave a darn good massage to put the cap on a beautiful trip to Charleston. If you are visiting for a honeymoon or romantic getaway, we highly recommend booking a massage here.

I have been a long time member of this spa, but unfortunately after my last experience, my family, friends and I will not be returning. I have always had my facials and waxing done by one of their estheticians named Freddy, who was very courteous and professional. She left after the pandemic, so I had to find a new esthetician there. I book a full leg wax, ab and chest wax and facial for my friend and I on Valentine’s Day. My friend started his appointment and then I was called for mine. My esthetician turned out to be the owner. The appointment started off fine, but after an hour of still working on my legs, she became stressed and saying how they were super booked. She started breathing heavily and moving quickly which led to many times of her not fully ripping the wax strips off and once even ripping the strip off when the wax had not adhered to the strip, which was painful. This processes just made me stressful and not wanting to continue with waxing the other parts of my body. After telling her this, she mentions that she doesn’t even have time to do any of the others services that I booked because the leg wax was taking too long. She complained about having to use tubs of wax and how she doesn’t charge enough for men’s. I questioned her experience with working on men, which she has but would rather work on women.I am not that hairy of a person, so I didn’t expect leg waxing to take two and a half hours. The prices for this Spa are not split between men and women, it just says leg waxing, so for her to complain to a customer about the services she provides and doesn’t charge enough for is not the clients problem and is completely unprofessional. After we were done my friend told me that he was able to get all the services done by the lady who worked on him; and he has much more hair then I do. I asked another one of her workers about the owner and she was sorry that I got her because she is the worst waxer in the spa. This really upset me because for the amount of money that you spend at this place, you do not want to have a bad experience.I called the very next day to complain about the waxing and try to understand how my friend was able to get all services and I wasn’t. Also, address the fact that she claims to have 40 years of experience, but doesn’t know how to properly wax. She immediately became defensive, unempathic and started saying that “we are not waxing men anymore.” Which is fine because she is horrible at it apparently, but that doesn’t excuse what I went through. I wasn’t even asking for a refund or anything. I was trying to explain that she has people on her staff that who can better wax men and it’s not my fault that she doesnt charge enough for men. But she was unapologetic about the whole experience, gave excuses, and just kept saying that “we won’t do any more men’s waxing” and dismissing the whole conversation. This spa has great workers, but the owner is not. She is unprofessional and she cannot manage her time well, so we will not be returning.

Had a wonderful facial today with Freddi (Frederique). I was there a little early and they took me right on in. Freddi was professional and explained each step of what she was doing. The front office, or reception area, was equally professional. I am only visiting Charleston for a couple of days, and honestly do not know why there are so many one-star ratings for this wonderful establishment. I will go here again anytime I am traveling to Charleston.

First class spa! I have been coming to Earthling for several years for manicures and pedicures. I love the quiet, zen like atmosphere and the privacy in the nail studio. Ally consistently does a great job on my hands and feet. She is on time, is very thorough and gets me in and out quickly without me ever feeling rushed or stressed! I enjoyed a 1 hour massage and facial at Earthling! I left feeling like I had a ton of bricks lifted off my shoulders after the massage. When I went for my facial my face was extremely dry and in bad shape. Aby did a wonderful job tapering the facial to the exact needs of my skin! We enjoyed a private Pilates class for three followed by massages. The class was fun and enjoyable, even for my 80 year old mother! The instructor, Buffy, managed to pace it for three different fitness levels. All three of us agreed our massages were excellent. We visited this spa on both of our vacations in Charleston. It is a lovely place, with wonderful staff. We’ve had two massages each here and have had some of the best therapists we‘ve ever had.

A few weeks ago I went to Earthling for my first facial and I am so glad I did! My esthetician was really sweet and very knowledgeable. The facial was soooo relaxing! She also did my brows for me and they have never looked better. I cant wait to go back but next time Im gonna make a day of it and do the massage/facial package!

Horrible experience. I called ahead of time to see what my gift certificates covered and made an appointment. Not one time did the staff let me know that if I cancelled the appointment, for any reason and even if I called ahead of time or the day before, that I lose both of the certificates values. They only tell you, you have to cancel 24 hrs ahead of time, which I did, and they conveniently have no record of the call. What they dont tell you is once you make an appointment, you cannot miss it for any reason or they get to pocket the whole value. I lost $200.00 worth of services that was given to me as a gift by my boss. They pocketed both certificates and I got nothing, except, oh well. Even the manager or owner called me and was extremely rude stating, oh well, thats how we do business, we have to pay our employees so thats how they justify ripping people off. I would highly recommend no one purchase gift certificates from them because they will not honor them if you have to reschedule your appointment. Just beware because even though it might be a family emergency like mine was, you forfeit everything even if you call ahead if time. They will not tell you this when you make the appointment because thats how they rip honest hard working people off. They just pocketed $200.00 and I got nothing in return. I wouldnt go there unless you have money to throw away.

Earthling has been my go to for skin care for ages. I’ve always put my trust in their advice on treatments and products and never been let down. I’m a huge fan of the green peel!! Aby has given me three and they are the best for getting rid of all the summer damage. I’ve always asked the “girls at the front” for suggestions on who to book for a massage and depending on what I’m looking for they are always spot on! I love that the treatments and high quality are consistent...AND THERE IS PARKING. Can’t forget that in downtown charleston.

I throughly enjoyed my experience at Earthling Day Spa. My massage was definitely one of the best I’ve ever had. The staff were courteous and professional with the perfect amount of “down to earth(ling)”. All in all I will be back for another visit. Sirius-ly.

I’m disappointed to say that I had a really unpleasant experience there. In my notes, I was explicit that I prefer not to have a chatty masseuse, but my masseuse told me her entire life story including traumatic details of her life and health history. She rubbed a menthol pain rub on my back without my consent, which felt awful, and she massages entirely too close to areas that I won’t show in public. I also had a 90 minute massage booked and when I arrived they had the wrong length of time (that they were at least able to fix). When I shared my experience, all she could say was sorry and would talk to the owner, no offer to help or fix the situation. I will not be returning there again.

Earthling Day Spa is fantastic. I was warmly welcomed by the front office staff and instantly felt the need to turn off my phone as we were walking back to the waiting room (to fully enjoy the peace of the place). I was given a robe and comfy flip flops to change into, and enjoyed the mind blowing yogi tea while I filled out my paper work. My massage therapist was very attentive to my needs and helped relax my shoulders and hips. So grateful I found this beautiful spa and highly recommend it to everyone!

This review is simply for the staff (since I had to reschedule my appointment). I had not worn my wedding ring in almost nine months and had just given birth a little over 6 weeks ago. Well today of all days, I decided to put it on. Big mistake, the ring was stuck. I walked in today and was greeted and asked how my day was going so far, I informed the receptionist (cant remember her name, but was the sweetest) that my ring was stuck on my finger. She immediately brought me to the ladies room and started to assist me with trying to remove the ring. While she was doing that three other of the employees there, including my MT, all attempted to assist me with the removal of my ring. I was EXTREMELY embarrassed non the least, yet they were all so very patient and understanding which meant so much. I figured that maybe the nearest fire department would have a ring cutter to cut my rings off, because at this point my finger was very swollen and changing color. The receptionist was able to get a hold of the local FD and my MT offered me tea as I waited. I began to cry as the firemen walked in, and the staff again was so sympathetic and helped me calm down. Sadly, they did not have a ring cutter and I eventually ended up in the ER to get my ring cut because my finger was really bad. Never in my life have I experienced such kindness from a business, who honestly did not have to assist me, they could have just turned me away. Instead They went above and beyond. I dont care if when I eventually get my massage that its not the best ( not saying that it will be bad) I will be back here more often and will also recommend this place. Thank you so much ladies and gent!!!

My wife and I are in town celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. Yesterday we visited Earthling. My massage with Rebecca was the best I’ve ever had. Years of tension were erased from my shoulders. The facility was spotless, luxurious and relaxing. Take your tired, sore self here to be revitalized.

I came to Charleston for vacation and decided to get a massage. Shawn did a fantastic job! I highly recommend this spa. They create the perfect spa experience. Everything was great from the atmosphere to the staff. I will definitely return.

I’ve been to Earthling more than a handful of time either by myself or with guests.I’ve purchased and been given gift cards for various occasions and I’ve used every single one without issue.I see a lot of recent negative reviews and I can’t imagine why. I’ve always been greeted and treated with the utmost respect here. It’s far from snooty and yes there are rules as with any spa or service type industry. Show up early. And yes you can cancel within the allotted time without penalty but if you don’t you get charged for time and inconvenience. I get that 100%. I’ve seen reviews about cutting time short. Has never happened to me or anyone I was ever with. Some masseuses are better than others but everyone has a different technique or style. My main concern is to relax and enjoy which I always have.Today I experienced a service called Nirvana on the specialty menu and it was nothing short of incredible. Aby came out and reviewed my intake sheet. She asked if I had questions and explained my service and offered alternative options. One of which I decided to take.The locker area/changing/shower area were spotless and my stuff was waiting for me with my name on them.The waiting area was clean as always and very serene. The water and snacks were also stocked even so I didn’t partake.My service was 2 hours and although like many others (if ur gonna count every minute you have issues..I’m sorry, I have better thangs to do with my time like relax) I did NOT check the clock when we started or when we finished but I was there a good 2.5-3hours total.My massage was incredible. Everything we decided to change happened as discussed and everything Originally on the service description happened as it was supposed to.Thanks again for making my day off a great one! I’ll be back again soon ladies.

Bruhs out there. Let go of your manliness and your need to stay macho and visit Laura at this massage place. She is legit. Graduated top of her class and really knows her stuff. When we talked before hand I told her about my traps being super tight and man she was a beast and worked them pretty much the whole hour with a focus that you could tell that she cared about really getting to the heart of the problem. If you are in the Charleston area and dont want a crappy massage from just an old run of the mill massage parlor try out Earthlings and ask for Laura. Def wont regret it.

Worst spa experience Ive ever had. Wish I would have read previous reviews.I get spa treatments often so I know whats what. We had an appt.for 9 to 2. We are at 8:45 as instructed. We were not taken back till 9:15. The facial was ok and the food was good, but the massage was terrible. I asked for her to be a little more gentle, which she sort of would, but would resume to toughness to the point that there was nothing relaxing about this massage; more stressful if anything. I was supposed to be taken back at 12:15 to have a 45 minute foot peppermint Patty and an hour massage (would be over at 2).Well my husband went back at about 12:11, and I went back at 12:15. My massage was over at 1:50 according to the therapist clock. My husband did not come out till 2 as he should have. My biggest problem here is that the owner came and spoke with me and said that theres extra time they reserve for such things, but what I dont understand is how something that should take an hour and forty five minutes can go from 12:15 to 1:50!?! So my overall problem is the way management/ownership handled this situation. She made excuses, refused a discount, and walked away without apologies I or offering to make this right. So if your looking for justification do not expect to find it here! For 770 dollars I deserve every minute of what Ive paid for!

This is my first ever review. If its not, its the second one in about 10 years. Was in Charleston for work helping w the hurricane damage. After about six weeks of 20 hour days, climbing on roofs, crawling through attics, I decided to schedule a massage. It was my birthday. Everything was amazing. While the atmosphere was a little intimadating for a self-proclaimed tough guy, everyone made you feel comfortable. Extremely comfortable. I had Amy who did some sort of magic because I had an old injury that went away. After 7 years of nonstop pain, I walked out of there and enjoyed my first pain free day. So dont look any further. Go here. Get Amy (Im sure everyone else is pretty amazing too), and treat yourself. To all my fellow tough guys out there who agree theres a feminization happening w men these days, let go of that for a day and come here. You wont regret it. And besides, you dont have to publicly mention it like I just did. Thanks to the whole Earthling crew!

This place will rip you off before you enter the door. Be ready to rush yourself into the massage rooms as the second you enter the building your payed time kicks in. So get you running shoes on because you need to make haste if you want to receive the massage time you payed for. The employees are very rude and neglect you the second your payed period is over. The place can use some people training skills because most guests feel as though they arent in a spa just a spa store. You may feel better taking the 100+ dollars you spent to receive a weak 45 minute massage and throwing it on yourself to roll around in. Better yet just go get a manny pedi because you will receive a better rub there.

As a born-and-raised Charlestonian in an unending search for a perfect spa, Ive been to most of the good spas in the Lowcountry. I booked an appointment with Earthling and arrived about 25 minutes early, prepared to fill out the customary paperwork. I checked in with the [disinterested] front office staff [who acted like I was inconveniencing her] and was given a robe and sandals to change into. After depositing my items into the locker room, I fixed myself some tea and sat in the waiting area. I assumed someone was going to come and give me the usual paperwork to complete: preferences, allergies, hold harmless agreement, etc. I was surprised to be waiting for at least 15 minutes without anyone ever bringing me paperwork to complete.I was brought back to a room at 2:35pm according to the spa’s clock (5 minutes past my appointment time), chatted with my therapist, and began my massage. The massage itself was great and my therapist did a good job. My massage ended on time; that is, it ended at 3:30pm so I only ended up with 50-55 minutes of massage time since they started late. Upon checkout, I presented $100 Spa Finder gift cards. The front desk clerk said she hadnt seen them before and wasnt sure what to do, so she called the manager down who was able to easily process the gift cards. Clearly the front office staff needs more training on spa policies and hospitality, as I was not once greeted in any welcoming sort of way. Maybe it was her first day on the job, but she shouldnt be hired if she has zero interpersonal communication skills.The spa certainly isnt horrible, but I can’t recommend a spa that seems to have front desk issues with organization, timing, and knowledge. I am still amazed that they performed a service without ever asking me to sign any paperwork or complete any preferences; from a legal standpoint, that’s a bad business decision. I was put off by arriving 25 minutes early to be seen 5 minutes past my appointment time. Unfortunately, I will not be back to Earthling and cannot recommend it to others. My therapist was wonderful but the spa itself needs better organization and front staff.

The venue is clean and serene, making it very easy for me to focus on relaxation. Hot tea and chilled water were available next to a beautiful fountain in the center of the waiting area.My massage therapist was friendly and professional, careful to tailor the experience to my needs. The room was a little chilly, but the massage table was heated. The massage and hands and feet add-on were excellent. I was a little disappointed with the Ayurvedic scalp massage, only because the description on the website suggested something different from what was provided. Regardless, it felt great.The womens locker room has showers, an assortment of luxurious toiletries, changing rooms, and complimentary lockers. I was able to take a nice hot shower after my massage, use great shampoo and soap, and sit around in the provided robe and sandals as I blow-dried my hair.I am looking forward to my next massage at Earthling.
