They did a PHENOMENAL job with my nails! This was my first time getting dip powder, so I didn’tknow what to expect.. but I love my nails so much. and the stuff they use is natural + good for your nails.I gave 4 🌟 instead of 5 because they were busy when I came, so they did rush. I didn’t mind because even rushing, they still did a great job… but if you’re somebody who gets nervous when people start rushing your treatment, this may not be the place for you.💜💜💜

Possibly the worst nail salon I have been to in Austin, in my 12 years here. Service was completely rushed, they stopped atleast 15 times to talk to other techs, let my nails soak with acetone for 20 minutes, then put a tip on half of my nail at a completely different length. I have very sensitive nails however, Oasis on 7Th has always done them very well and patiently, they were booked today unfortunately but I will not make that mistake again. Would not recommend and will not be even returning to let them fix, it was that bad.

Love this place! I never get my nails done and I went once and now Im hooked. Catherine is so sweet and very good at her job. Theyre able to do anything I ask for and their service is always really professional and efficient. :)

My nails look good from far away but not so much up close. Disappointed considering these costed more than they would have at my normal salon. Very nice and they tried to fix the mistakes but my nails are still pretty uneven. Not sure I would be a repeat customer.

Just visiting Austin and stopped by this beautiful nail salon for my wife nails jobs. Elegant look inside without heavy typical alcohol smell, great customers services from staffs, free parking validation.

For a basic gel manicure, the quality far did not match the price. Previously when I’ve gotten gel pedicures they are phenomenal, however this experience trying a gel manicure fell quite short. Linda and Brian provided fantastic service but the next lady that applied the gel to my nails appeared to be in quite a rush and the finished product shows it. The gel doesn’t completely cover some nails or is smudged or uneven. I’m a bit disappointed.

I got off the plane and needed a nail salon for a pedicure and they fit me right in. They helped with my bags from the airport, I got one of the absolute best foot/leg massages of my life, and complimentary wine to boot! The atmosphere is clean and open, I will definitely come back my next time in Austin.

I purchased a mani-pedi combo yesterday, (a tigers eye mani), and (French pedi)(pay no attention to my weird feet)🤣. I recieved a quality service that was affordable, and time efficient. The technicians that assisted me were skilled at their craft, and observant enough to be gentle with my cuticles, as they are very thin, and may cut me easily. The staff helped me feel welcome and pampered, and it meant the world to me. I dont get to treat myself very often; hygiene and self care are important, so in this case it was money well spent. Made a 2.30 appt against my better judgement with somewhere to be at 4.30 close by - never have I made an appt here that was actually honored or even pretended to be valid [they don’t care; walk in or not, people are taken in the order they come in - I’ve called once to make an appt and literally didn’t even ask my name]My friend is sat before me, has her nails done, and by the time she’s on the last coat I am finally seen at 3.15pm and not allowed to sit next to her.THIS IS 45 MIN PAST MY APPT. the moment I sat down I had shown what I had wanted (see image below) and then proceeded to sit for another twenty min to have my current (gel) color removed.By the time I had to leave my nails looked TERRIBLE (see below) - sides are covered and cracked, uneven, and the top coat is not flat at all from the rush job. I sat for two hours, with an appt, and have never been so dissatisfied with a half job that still isn’t even good.Will never be back.

This place is my favorite in Austin. Brian is so intentional, personable and they NEVER MAKE YOU WAIT. The longest I’ve waited is 5 minutes — and if they can’t fit you in, they’ll be honest, instead of making you wait 20+ minutes just to get your business. I love their atmosphere too and their range of drinks options. Not to mention, their prices are incredible for their quality. (The only thing I ever have to ask additionally is for a clean up around my nail beds) Other than that, I’m always satisfied! Here are my matte blacks:

I love my thin, classy nails! Other nail shops in Austin said they didnt fix acrylic nails. I was so delighted with the friendly atmosphere! They even offered me a drink, but most of all, I ❤ my nails!

I had a wonderful experience and got my Mani/ Pedi done in record timing. The conversation with the techs was so engaging, I really enjoyed resting. I was visiting from out of town, so I also loved how easily accessible it was by foot from my hotel!

I would like to write this review as a counterpart of what a fellow black american has said about discrimination as well as service at this shop. I have been obtaining service from this nail shop for several months. I want to start off by saying that the question regarding where do you live has never been asked in a you dont belong manner. It is and has always been small talk, it is a new shop and knowing if your customers are local or distanced is important to know for businesses when it comes to knowing who your target market is. Next, I want to say that I have formed a lovely relationship with those that work there. I am usually serviced by Brian but have been serviced by everyone for different things. I have never felt out of place or discriminated against. Im always welcomed and greeted, and sometimes if I get lucky and walk by the shop when its not busy I get a couple waves through the glass. As I continued going small talk turned into real conversations that could usually be continued or revisited my next visit. I only say that because I have major social anxiety and yet I feel very comfortable around Brian, Sunny, and Catherine. I would love for everyone to please ignore the review that is bashing this place of business. The work on top of the service is phenomenal on top of the employees having beautiful and caring personalities. I love Nails on 5th and will continue to go there as long as I am able to. I also attached my most recent set, and would like to add that anytime my nails has been damaged they have provided me with a repair free of charge.

Slightly disappointing. The interior is nice and they have many seats but the lady did a sloppy job with the gel polish. She got it on my skin in a lot of places and I peeled it off after. I also asked for almond shape and the lengths and shapes varied between hands and fingers 🤔 I was in and out in 20min - I wish she spent a liiiittle more time on making it look good

My friend went there last night and her full set was horrendous to say the least. The nails were all messed up. From the first application to the final result. Her nails looked NOTHING to what she asked for. They were bumpy, crocked, and all different sizes. Her pedicure looked nothing like the picture she showed the technician. I would honestly save my money and go somewhere else

I went in for the first time last year, and they don’t know how to do stickers on acrylic nails. I asked for white nails with butterflies, and they messed it up. The butterflies had remnants of the flowers on the sticker were still there and the owner said they “were great!”. It wasn’t cool. They didn’t give me a refund or acknowledge my frustration. I will never go back because they didn’t want to fix their mistake, even after they admitted it didn’t look like butterflies.

I do not usually write reviews but they did such an awful job on my nails I almost wanted to cry. Take your money and go somewhere else. I work in the area and decided to go here to get my nails done. I am soooo disappointed that someone could do such a horrible job and call themselves professionals. It is by far one of the worst experience I have ever had and I’m even more livid that they charge a lot of money for some jacked up nails that I may have to get redone.I didn’t even get a full-set. I just had them do dips on my nails. I had a pedicure and even that they did a poor job on. If I could give them 0 stars I would, because they don’t deserve any.

I am traveling for work and have gone to 4 different nail salons in the Austin area. I wish I had found Nails on 5th in the beginning. Joseph did a Hot Stone Pedicure for me and it was the best leg/foot massage Ive had in my life. Every time I thought the massage portion was over, he would add another moisturizer and begin again. The manicuring and polishing was perfection as well. I will be going back, and I wish I could find a comparable salon in my hometown.

What a beautiful salon! I was in Austin on vacation and found this salon nearby and could not recommend more! I got a manicure and pedicure at the same time and both technicians were wonderful. The salon is very clean and nice, friendly staff. Thanks!

All you need to know is that they are great technically with nails, and the service is PHENOMENAL. You can go solo or make it a date spot, they have drinks or bring a bottle of champagne if in the evening. If you’re there in the morning ask for a Vietnamese Coffee. If I lived in Austin I would be a bimonthly regular and my girlfriend would be there weekly 😂

I have been here twice. First time was excellent. Second time was terrible. The nail tech kept interrupting my conversation to try to upsell me on a pricier pedicure package. Finally, I relented because she was so pushy. She then accidentally grated the top of my toe which led to a deep cut. Blood everywhere. I refused to put my toe back in the water and she insinuated I was being a baby. The cut still hasn’t healed 1.5 weeks later. Still got charged for the more expensive package and she lurked by the register while I was checking out to make sure I tipped her. Never going back.

I came here on a whim and it was a regrettable experience from the beginning. The manager is unpleasant with customers and the staff is rushed due to his management style, think Putin meets Kim Jung-on, literally snapping his fingers at staff. My pedicurist didn’t acknowledge my concerns and had a rough touch. I would go here to have my nails painted, beyond that it was not a relaxing experience.

I got my nails done twice here. The first time, the quality was really bad and they peeled off within galled than a week. Thought I would give it another try because the atmosphere was fun. Again, with another nail tech, they all fell off within a week. Not worth your money.

This is a new shop and there are only three people working here so sometimes there is a bit of a wait, I would recommend making an appointment. But every time I go they do a great job and are super friendly. Catherine in particular does a great job! The shop is super clean and well maintained. I have seen a review on here that says that they don’t treat black people well, but as a black woman that has never been my experience. This is definitely my favorite nail spot in Austin.

Best nail salon hands down. Everyone is so professional and friendly. Im not from here and googled this place. I picked here based off the reviews and Im glad I came. They are very clean and attentive. They greet you at the door and offer complimentary beverages. Brian will make sure you are well taken care of. This was hands down the best pedicure Ive had and I love my dipped nails. Will definitely be back before I leave town.

The best pedicure Ive had outside of South Florida! But the manicure with dip was lack luster.😔 The gentleman who did my Dip didnt do a great job of shaping. And as they started to grow, the nails were jagged around the cuticle area. Despite the mask policy posted on the door, they did not require their patrons to wear mask and many of the workers did not have theirs on at all times. I wont be back.

So Ive been here 3x and the 3rd time was not the charm. I got a pedicure and fill in they were both rush jobs. The lady who did my pedicure didnt even try to get the dead skin off she spent most of the time rubbing lotion on my legs and top of my feet. Good service is hard to find

The service and communication here is terrible. When asked if there was a similar color to the one I wanted and they didn’t have I was told “ it’s your nails, look at your options and decide” accompanied with attitude and hand movements. I then asked if I could add fake nails and was told no. Pretty sure getting fake nails is a option at all nail salons and they just didn’t want to take that time to do that. My nail tech was more concerned with texting on her phone than doing my nails and just wasn’t friendly at all. In fact, no one there was. Would not recommend this place.

To properly display how INCREDIBLE Nails on 5th was for me, I need to share my story of how I found them.I was at a different nail salon, for nearly 5 hours for a mani/pedi. They not only were slow, but wasted my time and subsequently disrespected me by allowing me to leave with the most hideous manicure I never thought possible from a “professional”. One hand had longer nails than the other, did not give me the shape I asked for, nor the design, and the nail tech applied SNS as if it were acrylic (with a brush) instead of dipping as intended. It took forever and was incredibly messy, I couldn’t believe what was happening. She also cut me several times, sealing with nail glue only when I deigned to protest about it.This shook me so hard, when I walked out I almost didn’t want to go to another salon to have it fixed. I couldn’t handle another disappointment. But my nails were so embarrassingly bad that I had to. I took a chance, and went to a salon that caught my eye near my job. It looked so clean, and well decorated. The environment was just that of beauty and the highest degree of care. And they did not disappoint.Brian appeared to be ready to go home for the day, but saw the disaster and the exhaustion coursing through me, and so he greeted the challenge with enthusiasm. He fixed the shape, he listened to what I wanted, was charismatic and polite, and he did it all in under an hour. Nails on 5th is the G.O.A.T., swallow your apprehension and just go!

I went here because I saw they offered ‘organic’ manicures. I’ll keep this short but it’s not true, there was nothing organic about the powder they used and the guy tried to sell me on it and then got mad at me when I asked what was organic about it. He then broke one of my nails and went ham on them sooo hard with the file and machine file. He was rude and couldn’t explain the organic part,. I was genuinely curious bc ive always gotten gel and wanted to clean up my beauty game and go more natural. This was misleading and I felt very uncomfortableWill not come here again and will gladly pay a higher price for better service and care

I am thrilled to have a new nail salon on the east side! The whole space is beautiful. Every single person is in a mask (clients and employees!). They had a lap desk so I could work during my pedicure. I was so impressed with my manicure and pedicure. Highly recommend! It will be my new go-to nail salon!

First time in Austin and found this shop on Google. Brian did our nails and they are BOMB! Brian was so kind, had great conversation and was extremely gentle. The salon is absolutely beautiful and clean! Cant wait to come back!

The person that did my toes had the nail polish bubble. The gel coat started to chip off after a couple of days. The guy that did my manicure wasnt able to get the side edges with the holographic powder stuff, which costs 70 bucks, so people kept assuming I did it at home. The lady that did my boyfriends manicure had his bubbling too. All in all, no one did a good job. But, they were nice. So one star is for them being nice. The second star is for them being open and having an aesthetically pleasing environment. Give someone else your money. Dont go here.

I am writing this review to inform past, present, and futures clients of the dishonest review written by Trina Rix. This woman came into Nails on 5th during a busy time to inquire about getting a broken nail fixed. A nail which was not done at this establishment. She was greeted upon arrival and informed of a 45min to an hour wait as the staff was booked with appointments. She agreed to the wait time and took a seat in the waiting area. After 20-30 minutes, she was approached by an employee to get a better understanding of what service she desired. After a moment, the employee told her to pick a color closest to the one she had being she did not get her current nails done at this establishment. She understood, agreed, and continued to wait her turn. As she was being serviced, I overheard small talk. The employees usually ask if you live in the area (there is apartments above the nail salon) to get a better understanding on how people are finding out about their newly opened salon. After her nail was fixed, she was told she didn’t have to pay in hopes of gaining a long time customer. Instead of being grateful for the free service, she proceeded to make a sign and protest outside of the salon claiming unfair treatment due to her race. As a witness and long time customer of Brian and his staff, it breaks my heart to hear such negative and untrue statements. This women also owns her own media company promoting positivity, but doesn’t practice what she preaches?I have been going to Brian and Catherine for 4 years now! Their prices are unbeatable! The quality is always above and beyond! I typically have to bring my daughter with me and they also welcome her with open arms. I can’t imagine going to anyone else!Please do not let Trina’s negative and untrue review deter you from this salon. It’s hard enough having a new business let alone with COVID going on.

They got us in for a same day appointment, were so friendly and did an amazing job. The salon itself is stunning and so clean, and they offered drinks including champagne to my sister and I. Friendliest service I’ve ever received in a nail salon. I was in search of a new go-to spot and this is it!

Always do a good job with a pedicure. Make sure I get the full experience when Im there. The nail salon by my house doesnt do a good job. I am on disability and I need to have a good idea where my money goes. I usually have to walk to them from my house. I dont mind that if I have a good experience.

Got my nails done 3 days ago asked how much for acrylic and gel and they told me 40$ I go pay and the lady tells me 60$ & a nother lady that works there just gravs my card out of my wallet!! Then she try’s it again n try’s to make me pay twice ! But my banks tells me how much I spend n were at n I showed them n they said oh sorry honey your good to go. I went to get my nails done twice because they broke.. all I did was open a drink n boom it broke I am very disappointed..... not going ever again nails brake to fast and the price is overrated .

As a first time visitor to a nail salon, I will admit I was mildly skeptical. However, Nails on 5th was a great first experience. I got a manicure and pedicure with my girlfriend, and was able to make an appt with only 30 minutes notice. It was a beautiful new location, it was clean a comfortable and the staff was very friendly. Though I am not sure the market rate of manicures and pedicures, I was very happy to pay about $50 (each) for both services, an hour in a massage chair, and a mimosa. Support this local shop, and you will not be disappointed.

I have been a client of Brian and Catherine for over 3 years now. Since the day I met them they have always been extremely professional, friendly and kind. I am a black woman and I have NEVER been discriminated against in the salon. As a matter of fact, they do such an amazing job that I drive 18 miles each way just to get my nails done. I am loyal to them because not only do they do a great job on my nails but if I ever have an issue with ANYTHING they make sure I am taken care of no matter what. Please dont be discouraged to visit this shop if you are black or any other race for that matter. You will love the experience. If you dont want to wait, just make an appointment. If you cant make an appointment, Im sure they will try their best to accommodate you. By the way....all salons small talk. Thats how they get to know you. We have small talked so much that we are practically family now.Also with COVID they have taken all the necessary measures to make sure you are safe and comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend this nail shop.
