Mokara was awesome! This was the first time for my wife and I to go to Mokara, and first time going to a spa, so we weren’t sure what to expect. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by Kailey who helped checked us in. She was super friendly and answered all of our first timer questions. She showed us a tour of the spa and then set us up with our lockers so we could get ready for our couples massage. Sara R. and Romana were our massage therapists and they were great! We felt so relaxed after the massage. Ben did a great job taking care of us while we were at the pool. He was friendly and always on top of things! Knowing it was our first time, Kailey came and checked on us a couple times throughout our visit to make sure we had everything we needed. The entire staff was professional and my wife and I loved our time at Mokara. We will be back and highly recommend this spa! Thank you to Kailey and everyone who made our time there great!
Beautiful views at the resort, good service, but massage pressure felt very light and fast.
Had a nice mani/pedi in a quiet atmosphere.
My favorite spa in Austin hands down. Everytime I have been here they have treated me like a queen. The staff is very professional and make the experience even more better. I recommend getting a facial, you will leave this place feeling so relaxed. Definitely needed after a crazy year of 2020. Would rate it 10 stars if I could!
Great place! Come here regularly to get my hair cut.. Sylvia is awesome! Always feel like I get a 5 star experience when I come here.
This was the most unrelaxing spa I have ever been to! It was more of a social club than the serene getaway I needed and expected. I could hear people talking and laughing from the coed lounge and café during my treatments. When I booked my spa package several weeks in advance it included lunch. However, when I tried to order lunch I was notified that since booking lunch had been removed from the package but the price remained the same. Finally, they had only one poor girl doing nails. So my pedicure felt very rushed. The total time for my spa package was advertised as 2.5 hours. I think everything was completed in 1.5 hours.PROS: the spa facilities seemed very clean and the staff were all very nice.
Had a massage and facial today. The facial was good. The massage was disappointing. I booked a deep tissue/sports massage which was not what the therapist provided. I requested the therapist to adjust pressure several times and this was barely adjusted and not maintained. I mentioned the issue to the front desk and nothing was done about it either. I will not come back and will book an off-site location if I stay at this resort in the future.
I had a collagen infusion facial this weekend. I was very much looking forward to this because I had high expectations that it would be a next level experience. It was not. I paid $175 plus tip, which is an indulgence for me. I wish I hadnt. The spa is gorgeous, calming, and has everything you could need. The waiting area is so comfortable and with pretty views. The staff is professional and attentive. Because of Covid, expect nothing special . . . no spa water, not even any cold water to drink and not all amenities are open. My facial was just so so. It was much lesser of a facial experience than Ive had for much less money. I cant even tell a difference in my skin. Not one bit, and I usually always do. No steam, no hand rub, no foot rub, not even sure I was exfoliated. Im so surprised and disappointed. For those that would be interested to know, the spa pool is clothing optional and co-ed. No thanks.
Pedicure was over priced. I was expecting so much more for the price. I paid $100, including mandatory tip. For that price, I was expecting much more than just a soak, a quick scrub, and nail polish. Definately not worth that amount!!!! I’ve had better pedicure experiences much cheaper than that.
Best spa in Texas, in my opinion. The rooftop pool and co-ed lounge are great. Massage therapist I had was wonderful. The steam rooms are closed during covid, but the saunas and hot tubs are open
Way overpriced compared to the other spas in Austin. Massage therapy was just “ok.” You are forced to tip a high percentage on top of an already high price point for a massage in Austin instead of tipping based on quality of the service. Massage quality has gone down considerably since spa renovation. Alsono consideration for all of the “included services” being shut down in your price point. No steam room, no whirlpool. Miss the cave- this spa has definitely lost its Barton Creek charm.
Sylvia did a great job on my wife’s hair !!! She had long hair for about 1-2 years, it was cut short, and my wife loves it! Also Sylvia was very personable, and my wife felt like she had a lot in common with her. Good job Sylvia!!!ALSO... if you get your hair cut here you can use the spa amenities before/after your appointment. My wife did enjoy the sauna & hot tub. Overall a GREAT experience for her!
Pedicure was not worth the price, they only soaked and scrubbed for a short period of time. Very disappointed
Great deep tissue massage, the Saddlery by April. Had a sinus headache going in and April got me feeling much better by the end of an 80 minute massage.Cons- #1-make the door from reception to the lounge a quiet, soft close door instead of the current door constantly banging/closing. #2-person made a lot of noise outside the lounge filling the nut jars and replenishing the drink station with ice....take it to the kitchen to do this! It made the lounge not at all relaxing or quiet! The music needs to be only relaxing spa music and not have a wayward jazz/c&w/bongo interjected. Truly was annoying while enjoying a treatment only to have a different off tune suddenly play. So sad the cave wasnt part of the renovations; that was always the best part of BCs spa.
Wont be back!
