My first experience with VCA and it was great! Everything went smoothly, the entire staff was really helpful, caring, and informative. Will definitely be using their services for all of my cats :)
Every doctor, and all members of the staff here are amazing. They are thorough and so knowledgeable. They helped me get my two new shelter pups back in tip top health!
My family has been taking all of our pets to this clinic since the early 2000s -- including a parrot, three dogs, and a cat. Despite living in another city of TX, I would schedule their appointments at this clinic during my visits to Austin than transfer their care to a more convenient location. Theyve taken amazing care of our animals -- both when theyve been healthy and terminally ill.Melissa at the front desk was also very kind, patient and helpful. :)
I genuinely cannot speak highly enough of this vet. My normal vet was full, and I brought my cat there years ago for an issue that had popped up and I should have just kept bringing him here this whole time. Dr Swanzey particularly has been great, compassionate, thorough, and exceptional. With that said, the entire staff has been just absolutely kind and empathetic and organized. So the staff is fantastic, but they are also modern. Ive been to a few vets that have everything on paper or might have to send things off, that is not the case here. Everything is modern, appointments come with email confirmation, they can do a lot of work in-house.So all in all, if you need a top of the line vet who will care about your animal as if they were their own, this is the place to be. Absolutely recommended.
My dog had something stuck in his throat and they couldn’t see him bc he was a new patient !!meaning if he wasn’t they could!!! My dog hacking bad but bc of some dumb protocol you can’t check on a dog!!!
I applaud the professionalism, kindness and caring of this team. We have taken all three of our pets there and always walk away knowing our pets were cared for as if they were their own.Saying that, this team went above and beyond when we had an emergency with our cat. They responded and acted in a way that youd expect. The doctor kept me updated and the team did their best. Unfortunately, we lost our cat. The whole team, the doctors, the techs, and front desk staff were compassionate. Then a few days later I check my mail only to receive two greeting cards. One from all the staff, and a personal one with a hand written kind note by the doctor. I feel this team went above and beyond. Take your pets here. They will be treated and cared for beyond your expectations.
If you need to go it’s good but for teeth cleaning it’s really expensive and the last time I tried to go my cat wasn’t seen 40 minutes after the appointment time. They could have called when they started running late or advised it would be long wait I would have rescheduled. My cat ended up going pee in her carrier so I called to cancel 40 min after the appointment time while I was waiting in the parking lot and I’m never going back.
Not planning to bring my dog back there again due to a poor customer service & I have enough customers type of attitude that Vet. Swanzy showed during my past few visits... Everyone else seems so nice over there but Swanzy just ruins it. There are so many animal hospitals I can choose so good job.
Started going to VCA because of Dr. Pagel - followed her from another vets office. We used VCA for our dog for 5+ years before moving away. Highly recommend. Professional, clean, always prompt. Didnt push unnecessary services much.
We had taken our dogs and cats here for years but no more. Not sure if I can file a malpractice claim against a vet but that would be warranted after what they put our Shih-Tzu through. He was obsessively licking his paws and after spending over 3 months and ~$900, thank God I took him to another vet. It turns out he would have gotten better care at the Baltimore Animal Shelter, according to my daughter who used to work there! The second vet started with a cheap and simple skin scrape ($24 that even shelters routinely do but this first vet didnt even suggest) and determined it to simply be Demodex mites/mange. All it took was one Bravecto flea control pill and 3 days later it stopped. Of course at that point he also needed antibiotics for the secondary infections that had formed due to the previous misguided treatments, which actually made it worse by killing his own bacteria that may have fought the mites off. Poor little guy had to go through 3 months of Hell but it was finally over. All this despite my repeated pleas with the first doctor to get to root cause, that she must be missing something. But no, all she did was say maybe it was time to see a dog dermatologist, or put him on a special diet. She did note there was an exotic blood test they could try to determine allergy but said it was expensive and not reliable.I wanted to give Anderson Mill Animal Clinic a chance to make this right so called and spoke to the manager. She said there was a note in her file the doctor had suggested a test I declined. But she admitted that test was not a simple skin scrape (which the second vet just did) but a more expensive test that wouldnt have caught this. And they are the DVM (doctor of veterinary medicine), not me! Im an engineer and this is tantamount to an electrician not checking the circuit breaker first, then replacing wiring, fixtures, etc. that were not the problem. And then capping it off by telling you it was your fault since you didnt let them do some test that still wouldnt have done this most basic thing.
On the day of (3.27.2020) at 13 yrs and 4 months precious Allies time to be laid to rest had come. The vet office she had been going to was closed, and the alternate location was to busy. The family didnt want her to suffer another moment. I googled vets and VCA Anderson Mill had outstanding ratings so I gave them a call. The support staff was so wonderful. I am not sure of the womans name that answered the phone but she was so kind and sympathetic to the current situation. She explained the entire process. An hour later we arrived and the staff met us at the vehicle with a stretcher and welcomed us in.Dr Pagel was amazing! Especially taking on our request on such short notice. She thoroughly explained everything, and gave us all the time in the world to grieve In private. The kind and caring attention that Allie, and my family recieved during this trying time is so much appreciated words cant express how thankful we are.I will be switching to this VCA location because I know Ozzy will be in good hands with the staff .
Anderson Animal Clinic was fantastic. They took my dog to the back to run tests and she came back wagging her tail! Shes NEVER come back from tests happy. You can tell they really treat your pet right, even behind doors. Also, the information the vet provided was extremely informative. She gave me a number of options to get my dog feeling better (not just the most expensive). I couldnt be happier with my visit here. They easily won being my new vet in the area (Ive been to 5 now). Love them!
I have used Anderson Mill Animal Clinic off and on during the last 15 + years and always had an excellent experience. Recently, not so much. When I took my 18 yo cat in for his check up, I listened to quite a few recommendations for him ranging from seeing a heart specialist to a kitty eye doctor. It really seemed as though I were in a used car place with all the recommended add ons. Yes, he does have a dental issue but he is not in pain and still eats without any issues. I honestly felt like the vet was pushing tests on an elderly cat vs. a routine check up. Not sure how many pet parents would agree to hundreds of dollars (more like into the thousands) for testing of an 18 yo animal. It should be more of a lets make sure he is comfortable, not in pain, eating, using the bathroom vs. send him to a kitty cardiologist for a suspected heart murmur. I will say, that when I put my 17 yo cat to sleep this past summer, they were amazing.
Ive been taking my dog here for about 1 year now and I love it! They are very efficient and knowledgeable. Everyone we have met with has been great with my dog and helped calm her nerves (she gets a little nervous at the vet). I highly recommend taking your pets here.
Do not take your dying or any animal here, they group cremated my cat I’ve had for 15 yrs. when she should of been cremated and returned to my grandmother. They apologized for their mistake and had given an empty box with a sticker of her name for free. I’m so disappointed, saddened and hurt... This should never happen to anyone or animal!!!
Amazing place, I live an hour away and still make the drive to them for my veterinary needs. They have always been upfront and honest about costs, even when I said I have X amount they have never tried to price gouge me.Staff is super friendly and clearly love what they do. I recommend Andersonmill animal clinic to every person I know who has pets.
I have been going to AMAC for at least 15 years. This clinic has very competitive pricing. I had gone to other clinics who gave my pets shots they didnt need and were always pushing things on me that were not necessary. This clinic is honest. The vets adore animals and there is even a separate dog and cat waiting area. It is conveniently located on N 183 at Anderson Mill Rd. This place is a winner!!
Took our dog to VCA Animal Hospital on Anderson Mill. Wonderful place! Nice staff and very good Dr!! I recommend this animal hospital to all patients. ❤️👌
I glad I came here. I felt the staff was very welcoming and very helpful in answering my questions. I couldnt be happier, Especially that gentleman Shane and Dr Watson.
If I could give them no stars I would, they unnecessarily suggested that I euthanize my cat. If I had listened to them instead of my instincts he would be dead. They told me he was not making improvement when anyone with eyeballs could see that he was. They dont care about your animal, they only care about going home on time. When I was in the office crying because they were telling me to euthanize my cat, she kept coming in and telling me to hurry up and make my decision because she wanted to go home. So, of course the next day he was fine, but I wanted to take him back in to make sure. They hydrated him and sent him home in a box. As soon as I got home I took him out of the box and instantly realized that the catheter was still in his arm. I called them and asked them what the hell, and they said that I had to bring him back because that was an accident. How careless do you have to be to send my cat home with A catheter in his arm? I noticed it INSTANTLY, like did you even look at him? Seriously, I cant even fathom the carelessness of this place.
We have total trust our furry kids are being taken care of at Anderson Mill Animal Clinic. One of our dogs is reactive and skittish and the team is always accommodating during tech visits by giving us a room or letting us go to the back with our kids to make them feel more comfortable. During any type of visit and or surgery we are treated respectfully and are always made aware of what is going on with our kids. Dr Swanzy is an amazing veterinarian and her knowledge is never ending. Even if she does not know the answer she will go to great lengths to find out and suggest the best course of action. If you want a vet that treats your kids like they are their own this is the place to take them.
A special call out to Dr. Lott. We encountered a rare situation affecting our 2 mini dachshund puppies. Dr. Lott worked with our pets and went above and beyond by engaging Texas A&M University and Drug manufacturers to help pin point the cause. She provided me with after hours access to her to keep us informed with the latest information. She and the entire staff showed great compassion and comforted us through this difficult situation. though our pets have been going to Anderson Mill for + 17 years, weve gained another level of respect for not only Dr. Lott, but the entire staff!! Thank you for service!
Was referred by a friend and was the best recommendation. She has been a loyal client for almost 20 years and I see why. The staff is professional, compassionate and listen to you. Although my first trip, after just moving to Austin, was very difficult they treated me like a valued person and my dog in such a compassionate manner. I highly recommend this practice and staff.
Very clean a professional facility. Super friendly staff and knowledgeable doctors. Reasonable pricing. I felt that I was given various options to fit my budget rather than being pushed into an up sale of the most expensive option. They seemed to real care about my pet rather than getting me in and out as quickly as possible. I really like that they offered and strongly suggested that if I had any questions that my arise after I left pertaining to my pets health for me to call them as soon as possible.
This place is outrageously expensive for even the most basic services and the care and facilities are average to below average at best. I sent my daughter here to get our 2 chihuahuas their annual shots and my daughter texts me at the end of the 15 minute visit saying the charge was over $500. Did some checking and other places in this area do the same services and include some grooming for under $200. I will never take my dogs or any animals here again.
I have been a customer of Anderson Mill Animal Clinic for over 20 years. That alone should tell you the trust I have in them. The staff is knowledgeable, caring and compassionate in all they do. I would highly recommend trusting your fur babies with their care. Kudos & hugs to Anderson Mill animal clinic!
I took my fur baby, Apache, in to see a doctor because he was having some vomiting issues. He is only 5 months so, being the worried dog mom I am, I made an appointment for first thing in the morning! We saw Shane, the vet tech, who was A M A Z I N G. He did a great job with Apache and made me very happy with the level of empathy and enthusiasm he had for his job. Dr. Watson arrived and worked well with Apache, though I do not agree with her some of her opinions and I think she scared me unnecessarily. (She was anti raw-feeding. My other dog who is 7 and has been eating a raw diet nearly her entire life, perfect health) My mother in-law has three rat terriers who are all raw fed and they perform in shows and are the image of perfect health. She told me the grain-free food Ive been feed my oldest would ALSO kill her because of research done surrounding grain free diets. Trust me, my oldest does NOT only eat grain free because she is raw and does get people food scraps from time to time. I got scared when she told me the peanut butter I had given my older dog that morning as a little treat was basically poison due to an ingredient in some peanut butters. I went home and checked the label and no such ingredient was listed on my jar.She did follow up with a phone call today to check on Apache and I think that really helped to balance it all out.Besides that, I would definitely be returning with Apache for his wellness and medical care in the future. Highly recommend. And thank you again to Shane, the BEST vet tech EVER!Cost: As a first time patient I got Apaches first month of chewables for free which was incredible. There was also 25 dollars off the first visit for first time customers and we took advantage of that as well. It really was fabulous and gave me a chance to feel the office out without handing over my wallet for something I wasnt sure about like some places make you do. They clipped his nails and sent us on our way for $25. Very happy!
I thought that vets and their staff went into the business of helping animals because they truly care about animals. Anderson Mill does not care about animals, but about the almighty dollar. I had a very sick cat and I couldnt afford the bill that started at the price of $200.00. They were very unwilling to work with even discounting 10.00 off the bill. I am not asking for free services by any means. They have zero compassion for anyone or any pet. The did tell me that I could just take the cat to the animal shelter instead. The office staff refused to contact the owner per my request. The vet that took care of my cat was the most insensitive person and spoke down to me as if I was 12. I am educated! I have used this clinic for the past 10 years, but since the old vets Dr. Johnson & Dr.Campbell arent around anymore things have really gone wrong. This would have never happened nor was this the vision that Dr. Johnson had when he first started out in his home and Anderson Mill Rd wasnt even around.
I have 1 cat and 4 dogs and I take them all here. The staff is always nice, friendly, and on top of that, patient. One of my dogs, Waldo, hates smooth floors, especially tile floors. He refuses to walk on them. The staff are aware of this and are more than willing to take their time with him until he feels comfortable moving. It is the little things like this that make me continue to bring my pets here for their needs. If my dogs could answer, they would say it is for the cheese.
I have been taking my dog here for over a year and they are amazing. I love that I get email reminders from them when my dog is due for things, and they are always willing to fit me into their schedule considering I have a pretty chaotic schedule. They really care about your animal and their experience as well. My dog is very sweet and doesnt mind going to the vet, except getting his temperature taken. So, they dont take his temperature unless they absolutely HAVE to. They are also always quick to get us in and out. No sitting around long after your appointment time.
I have been going here for at least 5 years now, and it is great. Great helpful staff and always very attentive. I get calls and email reminders when my pet needs shots or a check up. My Dog even knows when we are going and she gets very excited when she sees the building. I thinks its because all of the love and treats she gets every time she goes in.
Dr. Codding is an excellent vet. He & his entire staff were extremely kind and compassionate during a very difficult time with our beloved dog Buddy. Wonderful care & guidance for our dogs. Highly recommend!
This is one of the Best vet clinics Ive ever been to. My dog is older and they showed her so much tenderness and care. Also, they were very respectful of my budget. I wish I had found them years ago.
Let me describe to you all the reasons why I LOVED my experience here. I had rescued a 2 year old dog a mere three hours before getting her a check up. She had been tied up outside for three months and was scared of door ways and tile. When I could not get her through the front door of the office, I was immediately surrounded by 4 technicians that were all rooting and cheering on my new dog and giving her treats. They all seemed to have this active involvement in my dog. Once we got her in, She was also scared of the exam room, she would cower into corners. The whole staff made her (and me) feel welcome and at ease. even when she wouldnt move from the corner of the exam room, the doctor got down on her knees and did the entire examination from there. They were extremely informative to me without seeming pushy or trying to sell me anything. They handled the whole situation with such professionalism and kindness. I am honestly excited to go back to show them how good my dog is doing!
Me, my wife, and our 6-year old Dachshund Oscar are very happy with the care and service provided by the Anderson Mill Animal Clinic. We are living temporarily in Austin while our house in Dripping Springs is being remodeled, and not to disparage our usual vet in the Dripping Springs area, but appointments are much easier to make with the Anderson Mill Animal Clinic, and if your pet is ill they will see you as soon as you can get there. And Oscar really seems to enjoy getting his shots there too!
I adopted a rescue dog and needed to establish care with a vet close to my new residence. I chose Anderson Mill and am so happy I did. Dr. Lott and the staff I have come into contact with have been professional, kind and seem to genuinely like what they do for a living. Our new dog, Sam was treated very well and Dr. Lott took time to hear my concerns and answer all my questions. I was concerned about the Lepto vaccination and the day after Sam received it, Dr. Lott called to check on him. I was so grateful and did not expect such nice care. I have been in twice and both times have been very pleasant.
This is the first place that I’ve been that I felt like the vet and staff genuinely cared about my cat instead of trying to get her in and out of the office or upsell unnecessary procedures. Dr. Coleman was the first to actually diagnose what was causing my cat’s breathing issues, provide treatment that improved my cat’s quality of life, and in the end, was able to put her to sleep peaceably when the time was right. Her compassion during those final moments got me through that final decision. For all of that, she will always have my gratitude and recommendation to anyone looking for a vet.If I decide to get another pet while I live in the Austin area, I will definitely bring them to Anderson Mill Animal Clinic.
I always have a great experience here and over the last 9 months we had to be there often trying to figure out what was wrong with our dog. They always gave us options and the honest truth about what was immediate and what could wait. They also gave us other options besides them on surgery and their recommendations. While they are pricey on their office visits I feel that i get the best service when I am there. Dr. Pagel is wonderful.
This has been our vet for our dog and cat for about 10 years. Solid staff. Excellent Dr.sUpdated 12/2017 - I cannot express how grateful I am for the staff. They have exceeded my expectations each time I need them. My cat was hurt and they allowed me to come in without an appointment. They were amazing and helped my cat.I think they are professional and priced fairly. We have also board our dog here. They have a nice little area where they walk the dogs etc. Over all not a bad setup.
When I first moved to Austin, I tried 2 other Vet clinics before finding Anderson Mill. Hopefully this will help others avoid looking any further.Everyone! at Anderson Mill is Tops and we all love them for caring for us.
Although we had to put my wonderful, cuddly kitty down (they had seen her for a few years), they were very compassionate. And although money is far from the only issue, they seemed to be concerned about the likelihood that extended treatement would be not be successful. I recommend them.
Friendly staff and available last minute appointments. Wish the Vet would provide more resources after paying $400 rather than try to sell the products at hand that I made very clear I couldnt afford.
Anderson Mill was recommended to us from our vet in College Station 14 years ago. During all those years we have had a great relationship with the staff. Dr. Codding has done an outstanding job seeing our dogs when emergency situations come up as well as the routine ones. My parents dogs have been under Dr. Pagels care for a few years and are very happy with her knowledge. We have boarded our dogs many times in the last two years at Anderson Mill and the dogs seem to enjoy their vacations as well.
When my Maine Coon kitty had a strange illness, they didnt hesitate to send me to the university for consultation with other experts. The whole focus was my kitty, not their egos. And they are overall efficient and caring.
After they asked us to spend quite a lot of money on tests for our cat (which she passed with flying colors) they put my cat on a diet and a few weeks later, when she got ringworm, prescribed a medication that can lead to a fatty liver disease without any warnings whatsoever for what to look out for. Unfortunately, due to diet and the medication, our cat did get fatty liver disease which progressed very quickly and she died. While I could have researched the medication myself, they are the vets and should have mentioned something about this possibility. The emergency vets were horrified to hear that the cat was on the medication and on a diet at the same time. I will never forgive myself for taking my cat to them.To top it off I have tried to unsubscribe from their incessant emails about getting my now dead cat another check up. I have followed the unsubscribe instructions, and I have also emailed them > 5 times. Alas no response but the spam emails keep coming--I keep getting reminders every few weeks about services i could pay them for.If you love your pet - I recommend Burnet Road Animal Hospital. They are not flashy; in fact their decor is rather dated. But the vets there really care about the pets, how to communicate with their owners, and do not order a bunch of tests just to line their own pockets.
Great care, kind people. We were referred to AMAC by our neighbors years ago and have taken our dog and cats there for several years. Always on time, friendly and helpful. Recently our older dog was having issues walking and we feared the worst. Got through the registration process quickly, intake was very caring and gentle and Dr. Coleman and staff were awesome. Several calls through the day to update me on how she was doing and what was going on. Met with us at 5:30 and took the time to walk through any questions or concerns. The biggest thing here is that everyone is passionate about the animals they treat. They take care of them like family with empathy, gentleness and know what they are doing. Highly recommended.
They dont care about your pet. We took one of our dogs there the day after Thanksgiving because our normal vet clinic was closed. They ended up running a bill over $400 which included lab work and x-rays. They came to the conclusion that our dog was constipated and needed a enema. But they didnt have time to do it and sent us to the ER clinic down the road. They also said they would consult a specialist and get back to us on Monday. That ER clinic did their thing and we spent another $500 there. The ER clinic reported to us that our dog was not constipated and did not need that enema. We waited on Monday for a call from Anderson Mill and got nothing. So we tried calling Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, etc... and was never put in contact with the doctor.I guess the doctor was ashamed that she got the wrong diagnosis.Well never go back to Anderson Mill Animal Clinic and we recommend you drive a little further for a better vet.
I highly recommend this animal clinic. Ive brought my cat here for a check up and his neutering procedure; both times have been positive experiences. The staff is friendly and the vets are happy to answer questions. They follow up on your pets treatments and procedures.I like that the waiting area is partitioned between dogs and cats. And I havent had to wait long for my appointments.
I love Anderson Mill Animal clinic. When my dog was having back issues, they explained things very well (what was causing the issues, options for fixing it, etc.) When my cat reached the end of her life, they were so kind and compassionate. Great doctors! Great staff!
Short wait, friendly front desk staff, and Dr. Swanzy and the vet tech were awesome to work with. Definitely going to use this location moving forward.
I was able to get an appointment same day, me and my pet were treated like royalty, no joke. The Doctor and staff were very knowledgeable. I found my vet for as long as I am in Austin. I highly recommend Anderson Mill.
Weve been taking our dogs (A big German Shepherd and a Chihuahua, so both ends of the size spectrum are covered) to the Anderson Mill Animal Clinic since 6 years ago and the service and attention have always been very good. And their prices fair. I definitely recommend them.
Great experience. The staff here is always professional and courteous. They do not patronize me. The doctors are focused on me and my pet when Im in there and are happy to spend a little extra time to answer any questions I have. Thank you.
We have been coming to this clinic for about 5 years and have had 2 healthy dogs, so we typically are only here twice a year for their checkups and have had good experiences. Recently, one of our dogs picked up a limp, and after doing diagnostic test they determined she had cancer. This was clearly devastating, but Dr. Swanson really took the time to go over the results with us, and she has even called to check up with us after our dog passed. We are grateful for the special attention during a difficult time. We look forward to continuing the relationship with our other dog.
I have been bringing the War Hound, Jake (my vaguely overweight mostly Lab) to them for 10 plus years. The vets and staff there are always super solicitous of our feelings, try not to tell Jake he is fat in his hearing, take special care of my friend, and are great at reminders. When Jake got attacked by a pit bull they took him right in and stitched him up and pulled the broken teeth and did everything they could to make him comfortable.I highly recommend Anderson Mill Animal Clinic and I wish my medical care was half as good as my dogs. :-)
Everyone is nice at Anderson Mill Animal Hospital but the one thing that Im not too pleased about this place is these vets want to recommend these expensive test or specialist. Not everyone has the money, you have to be direct w/the vet and tell them Im on a budget. They dont really work with you on a sliding scale, it may be they have many wealthy owners that have the money. I just wish they would work with you on some type of payment plan, I may consider looking for a more affordable vet.
Anderson Mill has been my vet clinic for seven years, and I love them. I have a primary vet and have also seen most of their half-dozen vets at least once. AMACs vets have cared for my own animals and many community and rescue cats. Theyve done routine exams and vaccinations, dental cleanings, and treatment for many minor illnesses and several major ones. Theyve referred me to good specialists for allergies, radiology, surgery, and internal medicine.AMACs vets were wonderful with end-of-life advice and care for my cat who died in January. I had to make hard medical and financial choices, and Id have had a bad time without their help. Theyre helping me again as I care for my dogs liver cancer. The vets are compassionate, generous with their time, patient with my questions, and respectful of my choices.I used to live conveniently near Anderson Mill. Ive since moved 30 minutes away, and could as easily go to one of many well-recommended vets near me. With multiple animals all needing visits on different schedules, that would save a lot of driving time. But Id have to move a lot farther before Id take my animals to another vet.
This vet is fine for regular check ups. BUT, once you have a problem, look out! They ran so many tests on my baby that that cost a fortune only to have inconclusive results. I asked if I could get a price break once they needed to run more tests, and no such luck! After a second opinion, it turned out something was missed. I wish I had read the unfiltered yelp reviews on the web prior to coming here for an emergency..those are very accurate!
They are so nice and thoughtful...alot more caring than my previous vet
Dr. Pagel was great, she took the time to listen to my concerns and explained everything. I had been going to another clinic and not once did they express concerns about the fact that my Boston, River might need to have sun screen applied to his nose (he has a pink nose, which is rare) when outside. The entire staff was great. Thank you all!
Our family has taken their pets to Anderson Mill Animal Clinic for a number of years - thru surgeries, regular check-ups and immunizations and yes, even when we had to take a couple of old friends to them to help us say our last goodbyes...The staff has always been compassionate & knowledgeable and given us care options for all of our animals. They are professional and are always friendly & accommodating to our pets - who are a part of our family. Thanks for all your great services!
Mr. Wolfgang always getting treated like a king by the staff. We have been very pleased at the service and professionalism we receive at Anderson Mill Animal Clinic. One time our dog slipped out of the house and someone found him and called AMAC and within minutes they had called to notify me who had our pup. Love them!
Good for checkups but thats it. It feels like being at a car dealership. They try to up sell like theyre on commission. Vets are nice but the business itself has a pretty obvious bottom line.
There may be wonderful vets there, but the front desk person was really rude to me. Our dog is an escape artist. I opened the door to get a package and my Great Pyrenees shoved me down and took off. My fiancé tried to chase him down in the car but lost him. We got a call that someone dropped our dog off here. We were so happy! However, we both work from home and couldnt get there right away without getting in serious trouble at work. The woman was rude, treated us like terrible pet owners (like we did it on purpose?) and told me it didnt matter when they closed they wouldnt keep him or hold on to him for me. What? What kind of kindness is that to the dog? We arent bad people. He got past me! It was an accident. I didnt appreciate the shame or the lack of caring enough to hold him till I could leave work and pick him up. Meanest front desk person I have dealt with at a vet clinic.
From out of town, small procedure handled professionally. Price reasonable, staff great
Prompt appointment scheduling and kind service. Quite affordable for the extensive services they have on site too! Will definitely continue taking my cat, Ozzy, there for years to come.
Not a fan of this place anymore. Rude veterinarian
The vets here are sweet and friendly. I took my kitty son here several times and they fixed me right up. Helped me fix his ear mites, microchip him, and vaccinate him. Friendly front desk staff make scheduling an appointment a breeze. So glad I was referred here :)
The care we receive at AMAC is fantastic! Were never rushed and all of the vets and techs are patient and will answer any questions we may have. The best part is they genuinely care about the animals and give them lots of love and attention on every visit, whether an urgent need or just yearly vaccinations. Very highly recommended.
One time, I called my regular vets offce to try to get my dog in for what I thought was an emergency (not life threatening, but important), and they couldnt squeeze me in. I called Anderson Mill Animal Clinic which is close to my home, and they found time for us. Since then, I move my dogs over to Anderson Mill, and I have been very happy with the availability of the vets, as well as the professionalism and courtesy of the staff. Everyone seems very happy to help.
We have been very pleased with the service we receive for our dachshund Bailey. We came in as new patients when he was unfortunately sick with a stomach bug. We were treated like long-time patients, and given stellar customer service. If the vet/tech said they would call us with an update, they did. He couldnt have received better care! They are cost and time conscious which I appreciate immensely.
Were new to Anderson Mill Animal Clinic but already Im very impressed. The staff is caring and their level of attention to detail is second to none. Also, the costs are extremely reasonable. Im so glad I found this place!
I use Dr Pagel, have used her for 15 years. She is excellent! Very smart and kind and has done an excellent job of caring for our dogs.
Worst ever. My dog had an intestinal obstruction and all they cared about was how much money they could get from me. After paying 750 for an exam, x ray and emergency ultra sound, which I had to pay an elevated amount because the person could not work it into their schedule until after hours (I brought my pet there at 8am) They informed me that he would need surgery ASAP but this would have to be done after hours for another elevated fee. Then after the surgery I would have to bring him to an emergency clinic because no one is there over night to watch my dog WHICH DOES NOT SEEM RIGHT IF YOU CAN BOARD YOUR pets there. It was ONLY about the money. After I pleaded for any advise on what to do since they wanted 2k right then (after I had already given them 750.$) I was told there was nothing they could do. I asked several times about financing and was told there was nothing. I asked about any animal groups (since we had just rescued him from a group months before)..nothing. Said they know of nothing unless I surrendered my pet!!When my little girls and I were leaving the Dr.asked us back into a room (without my dog) and told me IN FRONT OF MY TWO LITTLE GIRLS to put him down!!! I can not believe they are in business! I found another vet who informed me about Care Credit and gave me lots of other options. None of this was ever discussed at Anderson mill. My dog survived with the help of Animal Trustees who truly care about pets not the money
Its unfortunate that some of the posters here have had a bad experience. I would imagine that no animal clinic is perfect. We moved to Austin in 1988, and the clinic was here already. It was close, so we took our dog there when necessary. We have been taking our animals there ever since. I have never seen anyone in that clinic act like anything other than friendly, professional, caring, and compassionate. You just dont run a business for over 30 years without doing something right.
During our first visit, Dr. Swanzy immediately sat down on the floor with Oliver - it eased his stress and I could tell she is a person who truly loves her patients! Any time we go back everyone is very helpful and excited to see us. The receptionists and vet techs have answered many a frantic question for me over the phone! At the other vet clinic, Oliver would come in, tail between his legs and shaking. At Anderson Mill, he walks right in and explores the lobby. Seeing him feel at home lets me know were in the right place!
Very nice people who take good care of our pets. Nice service and helpful staff. We are glad we take our pets here!
The staff at Anderson Mill Animal clinic has delivered 20 years of loving and compassionate care to two generations of our cats; Simba and Nala through their old age until they went to their rest at 15 and 16 years old and Duke and Zoe who arrived in our household as kittens needing lots of care and continue to visit yearly for their check ups. I highly recommend their veterinarians, technicians and office staff!
Top notch Vet clinic. I came in with my two dogs and was treated so nicely. They were so great with the dogs and extremely professional.
Staff was very welcoming. Doctor took her time with both dogs and Explained things well. Nice practice.
We had an emergency with our Kitty Abby and we did not have an appointment, they took us right in and helped us. Everyone there was so kind and truly helpful, I would recommend them to everyone.
I have never had a negative experience at Anderson Mill Animal Clinic. They make it easy to pick up meds for my pet, and they never try to guilt me into breaking my budget because they know I love my pet... Like some other vet offices that I have been to.
Very friendly and accommodating to all our pet needs!
Dr. Swanzy and the rest of the team are great! I drive from Buda to take my pups to see them. From routine check ups to caring for my dog with a complicated diagnosis, they couldnt be better.
Ive gone to Anderson Mill Animal Clinic for years, both for my own 5 pets and numerous rescue kittens in the group Im with. Dr. Swanzy is our primary care doctor, but Ive seen other vets there when shes not working. All of them are A++ vets in terms of diagnosis, treatment, and follow up. My pets are my children, and Im actually pickier about their doctors than my own! Ive never had a bad experience, only positive. The AMAC staff is super helpful, friendly and thorough.
Unfortunately we had to visit Anderson Mill Pet Clinic with our sick cat Streaky. As soon as we entered the staff could tell immediately something was wrong. They got up very quickly and took our sweet streaky in the back. Even though theres not a happy ending to our visit I just want everyone to know how much the staff cared and where on top of things. They where extremely passionate about our feelings and handled everything so perfectly. I never write reviews but in an emotional time we where taken care of. We just want to thank everyone for all they did.Jeff and Dionne Shipwash
We brought our cat in today because she could not keep food down. Dr. Coleman was very thorough and explained everything in detail. All of the staff was very friendly and professional. This is the place to go if you want your pets treated like the family members they are.
Anderson Mill Animal Clinic is the place for our dogs (Toby & Jj.) The Vets are trustworthy and the staff is friendly. We love our dogs and so do they. Good Place!
Anderson Mill Animal Clinic was our little dog Katies vet for 13 years as well as our cat Margaret.. Although we lost Katie this past May her doctors there were great !! We were happy with all services and will definitely will use this clinic when we get another dog !
We have been coming to Anderson Mill for several years, Doctor Codding is a wonderful Doctor, He really has compassion for these animals . I would highly recommend Anderson Mill and especially DR. Codding and have.
I had an emergency situation with my 8 week old Maltipoo puppy and they got me in within 30 minutes! They ran tests, kept me informed of pricing and risks along the way. We walked out with meds and a puppy that was well on her way to returning to full health. I called 2 other local vets before finding them, another clinic even recommended AMAC. I also had my toddler with me and they made it as easy and quick as possible. Just found our new vet!
I absolutely love the staff and vets at Anderson Mill!! You can tell they truly love and care about your (our) fur babies.
I highly recommend the vets at Anderson Mill Animal Clinic. Ive used two of them and their service was fantastic. Your pets are in great hands!
Weve used Anderson Mill Animal Clinic for over 15 years. Weve always had great experiences with the entire staff. I completely recommend them.
By far the best vet Ive used in Austin for my cat! My cat hates being boarded (finally found a place he would tolerate when I had to travel for work), and didnt like vets, but for some reason, he REALLY took to Dr. Codding! Unbelievable he was stretching up his torso to be petted! SO unlike him, since he hasnt been around many strangers and this behavior was repeated the second time there as well, so I know it wasnt a fluke, although hes still not happy having vet techs do anything. This is the only vet Ive been to where hell come out of his kennel and just lay there, very calm, on the table. Might be because they do a good job of keeping the other animal odors down, and only use specific rooms separately for cats and dogs. All I know is, my cat is very relaxed and lets the vet do anything, even injections, with no glimmer of aprehension or needing me to hold him.
I have what could euphemistically be called a difficult cat, but everyone at Anderson Mill Animal Clinic was nothing but kind and helpful! They made it clear that the important thing was Eliots health and I appreciate that a great deal. Thank you to everyone at Anderson Mill Animal Clinic!
Wonderful, friendly, courteous, caring staff, great facility, spacious waiting room. Dr. Swansey called the next day as a followup after my Boston Terrier had some shots.
I was referred to the Anderson Mill Animal Clinic by my fiance. His family dog went there from the time he was a puppy until he ultimately passed on.My child and I adopted a pup from the Leander Animal Shelter on a Sunday. Poor little fella was not in good shape. He was a rescue from the Leander hoarding case. Thanks to the love and care shown to him at the Anderson Mill Animal Clinic, Jake (from State Farm) is now eating and almost free from infections and kennel cough.Everyone who came in contact with us was very compassionate and called Jake by name. Jake is still very timid, but he loves to snuggle and is now learning how to walk on a leash. And yes, if you were wondering, hes wearing khakis lol.
Truly the best veterinary clinic around! The doctors are honest and caring, along with the staff :)
Everyone was so kind and understanding about our lapsed shots, due to financial issues for the last 1.5 years. Now all 3 dogs are up to date, and we are happy and confident with the care we received at AMAC. Dr. Pagel and Dr. Lott are awesome! All support staff was so kind and helpful. Glad to have found AMAC!
