Summit at Hyde Park was one of the best rental experiences I’ve ever had. We moved in when another company owned the property in 2019, and were truly blown away by all the upgrades Skyline made when they began managing. The leasing staff is kind and professional, handling all of our issues and questions in a timely manner. I also cannot say enough kind things about the maintenance staff. I’ve had terrible experiences with maintenance at previous apartments, but the teamat Summit are top-notch, handle everything quickly and professionally, and are absolutely lovely. The improvements to the amenities have also been remarkable, especially in the pool and parking areas. Living here for 2 years was absolutely phenomenal, and we’ll definitely be comparing this rental experience to all others in the future. Despite some previous reviews, we never had a bug problem in our two years that we lived on a first floor unit.Cannot recommend living here strongly enough for a hidden gem in a great neighborhood. Couldn’t ask for a better experience less than 10 mins from downtown Austin!

DO NOT LIVE HERE.1)They charge you randomly for services that aren’t in use(Valet trash is $25 a month but no one ever comes + $100 renter insurance a month for people who ALREADY HAVE RENTER’S INSURANCE)2)They take forever to respond and are not in the office during their business hours3) Communication is severely lacking. They just do not have enough staff to run this awful place4) ROACHES. There is a huge roach infestationI wish I could give this place a 0/5
I think the property has been taken over by new ownership. They are putting a ton of money into the property. Redoing the outside and renovating the interiors. The place is looking good. Got to meet one of the fiber guys and he was nice. I met one of the guys putting the black shade screens on and he was extremely professional and very nice. All tells me the new management has good people working for them.
Totally true Austin vibe! Love this community!
Loved living here! Maintenance was always prompt in taking care of requests and all the staff were always available & kind!
If I could give zero stars, I would1. Upon move in, we initially were supposed to have the 505sq ft unit and it was not ready despite us getting the keys. Microwave door was cracked, paint peeling and on the ground. Dirt on the ground, not cleaned. Appliances were not what we were shown or promised, bathroom closet shelf was not assembled and was in shambles on the ground. Door had a ton of dents in it and overall we did not feel safe. We ended up staying there for one week while we waited for our current apartment which we had to negotiate rent on because it had gone up since we had signed for the other apartment.2. Double cashing my check. There was a period of time when wed get notices that there was a new system but then we couldnt register and nobody had our info so we didnt get emailed, and then we had to pay our utilities via check at the office frankly last minute and the office double cashed my check on Christmas Eve overdrawing my account and were not helpful in rectifying the situation saying oh must have been cashed here and California and I had to deal with it with my bank.3. The next month there was a new system we once again didnt get emails and they couldnt really help us with anything in the office. We went an entire month without any news of how to pay our utilities despite us contacting them to find out. We were subsequently double charged utilities the following month with no warning.4. My husbands bike was stolen from a bike rack near our unit when it was locked up completely. And because the exit gate nearest our apartment was broken for months we suspect someone just came in cut the wires (which wouldnt be easy) and took it without anyone noticing. We have since discovered that other residents have also had their bikes stolen.5. Not being able to contact the office. There was a period of multiple months where the office number kept changing and nobody communicated that. The office hours kept changing with no communication. Email addresses kept changing with no communication. Anytime I needed to speak with someone I was met disconnected numbers, full voicemails and bounce backs. I would visit the office during normal hours to find it closed. At one point I told the staff member in the office via email that I could not reach them by the phone number they provided and was told their boss made a typo in the number. When I asked if an email could be sent out with the corrected number the office member said Ill have to check and no email was ever given.6. The rental renewal not only increases our rent but also increased our pet rent and includes charges for services that we did not have a choice to opt out of (valet trash and fiber internet). Valet trash never came to our apt and even when we set it out on time. Then we received a mass email that if trash is outside you would be charged a lease violation - but they didnt pick it up! So we were going to have to pay an additional $25 a month for a service that doesnt work. The internet they offer is slower than spectrum and twice the cost. Scam.7. We also were told repeatedly that were asking too early about renewing and that the process to switch to another unit was basically impossible and would require us to break our current lease, pay an extra month of rent just to move to a bigger unit. We also viewed said unit and it was in complete disarray. Cabinets and backsplash were crooked, mirrors were scratched painted sloppily and overall just not proven to be worth the additional cost.8. current management did nothing to take ownership of the things we experienced and simply said too bad it wasnt us. That doesnt sit right with us. You would think you would try to remedy wrongdoing rather than punish a resident because they had a bad experience.
I lived here for a year and I have nothing but great things to say about this apartment complex. The staff is very welcoming and respond quickly to any requests.
It has been a pleasure living at Avesta Lamar Station for a year. The office personnel are helpful and friendly. The lease process was smooth and efficient. The apartments are newly renovated. They do a good job helping create a community atmosphere through organized community events. The people that live here are clean nice professional people. I have never felt unsafe and have never had any issues whatsoever.
Cane here with my friend to do a tour around the area. It seems like everything is under a upgrade construction... Fiber is being installed pool is getting ready for summer... I live in riverside area and now Im thinking about moving here!
I have been a resident of Lamar Station since June of last year. I have not had a single complaint since arriving. The maintenance staff is incredibly prompt and professional, the grounds are always clean, and the management staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend checking Lamar Station out as your future apartment home, you will not regret it.
I’ve lived here for almost 2 years and love it. The office staff are helpful and nice, maintenance is always quick and nice as well. The renovated units look really nice (from what I can see!), some units have their own laundry which has been wonderful and I’ve honestly never had any issues here. There’s lots of dogs so they’re really pet friendly. There’s also new deals going on now with free rent so if you’re thinking about it, check them out :)
I lived at Lamar Station for about a year and a half in 2018-2019. Fantastic location. I found the accommodations to be in line with the price of rent. Management was easy to work with and maintenance responded promptly to requests.
I’ve lived at Avesta Lamar Station for about 8 months now, and the experience has been great. The property is kept clean and is generally quiet. Management is great, Cynthia is very kind and has always responded quickly and thoroughly to any of my questions or concerns. If you plan on living here and are sensitive to noise I would suggest trying to get a third floor unit. The walls/ceilings are a little thin, so at times can very hear your upstairs neighbors walking around.
After looking for an apartment in the north Austin area, I thought there couldnt be a perfect mix of amenities, location, and price per sq ft.Ive lived in one other apartment location in the Hyde park area, and although the location was nice and easy to secure on short notice, the ease of living there wasnt the best. All I was looking for in an apartment was: a balcony, a dishwasher, and large windows. Other complexes get away with not supplying these because people are complacent with their current situation. Its the small things, you know? Like, I got towed twice at my last apartment area for not having the sticker for an hour. Here, the only rule they have is to park in between the lines. Even my friends who come see the apartment are surprised that the cabinets are actually real (the standards of other apartments are sometimes that low). And the icing on the cake was an In-unit washer and dryer. If youre looking for an apartment in the area but cant find anything that stands out, you should at least take a tour. The management is great and will treat you well. Keep in mind the price is a slightly higher than competitors in the area, but Im definitely willing to pay more for quality.
I’ve been living at Avesta Lamar Station for 4 months now. I absolutely love it. Professional staff. Quiet neighborhood. Clean apartments (mine has granite countertops and wood flooring!). And the leasing office throws cool little parties for residents. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an apartment in Austin.
I currently live here and have had such a good transition from home. It is very clean and love the fast service response. They are always quick to communicate with residents on warnings or notifications to keep us up to date!
Living here has been absolutely great! Avesta made my move to Austin much easier. The location makes it so that nothing is out of reach. Even with the Austin traffic I really dont have anything to complain about.
Just moved here 2 months ago and already loving the location. A great value for the area and very great move-in specials! The Staff (Cynthia and Courtney) are very friendly and helpful and made the move in process seamless and pleasant. The apartment is cozy and a great size and is recently renovated and refurbished.
Ive been living at Avesta for about 6 months now. The staff/management are all very friendly, and the pool area feels upscale. Kitchens are a bit small, but their remodels have made everything very stylish and efficient. Id recommend Avesta!
An excellent living experience. My first residence at Austin and I could not have got a better apartment for myself!Amazing community and an excellent staff. They really give you a homely feeling at Avesta. The apartments are really well maintained and the fittings are new. All issues handled with utmost urgency and I really cant find a single comment for them :)
It has been such a complete joy to live here. The staff is incredibly helpful and understanding. The apartments are beautiful, the location is great, maintenance crew is very quick and great. Ive never lived anywhere I liked better.
I truly enjoy living here. Maintenance requests are answered promptly, the online portal is easy to use, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I also enjoy the fact that I have my own washer and dryer.
This is the best complex I have been living in Austin. All renovated with great amenities and social events. Cynthia (the manager) and all the staff are really welcoming, friendly and professional. Love living here and feel it a real home!
Nice apartment at a reasonable price! You are actually at the center of everything from gas station, food chains, Department of Public Safety and less than 10 miles to downtown Austin. New interior appliances, friendly neighborhood, amenities and lastly their office personnel are polite and hospitable! I would highly recommend Avesta Lamar Station! :)
Super accommodating staff and management! I was very impressed by Cynthia and the rest of the staff, they were all very warm and helpful...which hasnt been my typical experience with apartment offices. 5 stars for the customer service, and the new renovations look great.
Lived there for 5 years and absolutely loved it. The apartments and property are kept beautiful. Cynthia the manager is amazing and maintenance team usually gets stuff done the same day. Very inviting and easygoing community
I have lived at Avesta Lamar Station for 2 years now and have loved it. The rent is very reasonable for the area, the property is very updated, clean, and quiet. I feel very safe and at home living here and would recommend this apartment to anyone!
These apartments have a very beautiful interior and are in a great location. There is lots to do all around. The staff is very friendly and works to solve issues quickly.
Love living here! The community is very nice, the pool area is fantastic, and the staff are very friendly and helpful!! Cynthia has been extremely helpful with the transition to the new management!
Love the location! The office and maintenance staff are what make this place such a wonderful community. They are so helpful, friendly, and you can tell that they really do take pride in making Lamar Station as great a place as it can be!
Ive lived at Avesta for about 4 months now and really love it. The staff is great, the location is amazing, and the maintenance guys are out of this world. Cant wait for this summer to lay by the pool!
Lived at Pecan Grove for a year (2014-2015). The experience began nicely, Misty was nice and the apartment was clean upon move in. However, everything went down hill from there. From the time I moved in there were insect and pest problems, pest control came at least once a month (if not more) but it did not help. The office kept saying to file an order for the pest person to come again, so I did. I got over that, decided when the lease was up I would be moving to a cleaner place. I submitted the paperwork properly and timely, all that was good. After moving out, I cleaned everything and turned in the keys. While I was doing this, I gave the office my new address and made sure my phone number was correct. After seven months, I realized I had never received my deposit or an itemized list of move out orders. So, I went back and upon arrival I was told it was my fault the mail never made it to me. You see, she told me that instead of mailing the order to the address I spent my time to give them they just mailed it to my old address with them so the mail person could forward it. (Thats all fine and dandy, except there is a 30 day limit on forwarding and since I moved out 7 days before the end of my lease they sent it after that period of time.) Regardless, she accused me of not setting my address up with USPS. She even went as far to say they cannot guarantee that the order will reach me at the new address I hand wrote down for them, but they can if they just have it forwarded. Makes sense, right? Anyways, after this she then proceeds to show me all of this money I owe because I didnt clean and what not - AND she had pictures. I requested to see them, she pulls them up. Guess what? They were extremely blurry and you could see no damage in any of them. (Minus one quarter sized stain in the carpet) Yet, I was charged a cleaning fee and a deep carpet cleaning fee. Guess what else? When you move out, you cannot be charged for everyday wear and tear!! Cleaning falls under that, right? You guessed it, its a yes. Anyways, I asked why I was being charged to which she decides to take off the regular cleaning fee. But not the carpet one, so I ask about that one. The the woman had the nerve to tell me they found pet hair and urine all over the apartment floors. Guess what? Ive never owned an animal, unless succulents count!! So, I told her to prove it. She couldnt. I told her I would happily have my lawyer contact her by Monday. She didnt like that, she finally took the charges off. I didnt get my deposit back, AT ALL, but I also didnt owe $300 of stupid charges that they were OBVIOUSLY just trying to get money out of me with. (I would also like to add that Ive lived in two other apartments, both of which I treated everything the same, cleaned the same and I received my complete deposit refunds within 30 days of moving out without ANY problems AT ALL) My advice to you is do NOT move here, but if you do or choose to, take pictures, LOTS of them. Both upon moving in and moving out. AND, know your rights so they dont screw you over like they attempted to with me. (Like they probably already have with many other people!!)
I am writing this review in regards to a story my neighbor told me about their lease and water damage. The corporate offices wont respond about the issues that happened in their apartment; Avesta will not allow them to break their lease. If you cannot treat your residents well, they will let their voice be known.
I have loved living here! The staff is friendly and approachable, grounds are well maintained, and there is plenty of parking for everyone.
Long post warning - main point in last sectionToday is our last day living here in our 2BD/2BA apartment but thats only because we were blessed to actually have found a good affordable house to buy in Austin. My wife and I have lived here since June of 2014. Since there are various reviews on this place that mention different managers and different names for the complex I figured I would fill in the blanks over my time living here.Company and StaffWhen we moved in we worked with the manager Misty and at the time the complex was called Pecan Grove and it was owned by Bell properties. Our interactions with Misty were pleasant and we had one or two community events. One day Misty was no longer the manager and I have no knowledge of why. I only know there wasnt an announcement whatsoever. It took about 6 months before the next full-time manager came (there were some who filled in for short stints). That manager is the current manager now, Cynthia. I have loved working with her as she has been reasonable and easy to talk to about various concerns throughout the last two years (mid-2015 to mid-2017). The complex was still called Pecan Grove when she started and transitioned to Avesta Lamar Station in the last half year approximately (late-2016). I was happy to know that Cynthia was going to continue working as the manager when they transitioned to Avesta Lamar Station. Lastly, from the beginning Israel has been one of the staff members who has helped with fixing repair requests and helping with maintaining the apartment grounds. Honestly, I dont know how Im going to maintain my new house now that I dont have him around. He would always fix our requests within 24 hours (except Sunday unless emergency) and even when he wasnt fixing something in an apartment I would still see him nearly everyday working on something. He is incredibly hardworking and a big thanks to him for everything hes fixed for us!The ApartmentWhen we moved in, the apartment was clean. We werent paying top notch prices for the area so our apartment wasnt going to have top notch luxuries like a granite counter-top. However, I think that the apartment we got was well worth the price we paid. Since the change to Avesta, I will admit it has been a little difficult to deal with all of the requests to enter the apartments but its understandable as Avesta seems to be making an effort to improve the conditions of the apartments. For the most part they seem to be mostly cosmetic thus far but I have heard of plans to convert part of the laundry to a fitness facility. Also, Im sure the company is looking forward to updating my apartment once we leave with new tile/hardwood flooring instead of our current carpet.Overall Impression (TL; DR)Not as fancy as all the new apartment builds in Central Austin but for the price you wont find a better value in terms of space and service from the staff at Avesta Lamar Station (Pecan Grove).
Do NOT rent here!! We lived here for almost 2yrs. When they decided to resurface the parking lot, they informed us as to where to park. Our WHITE Ford Expedition was speckled with black tar. We left, and now almost 2 yrs later, we have a debt showing on our credit of $165. After looking into it, it is for an application fee dated a YEAR after we moved out!!!!!!!! Now it showing on our rental history, and are having trouble getting into a house without having to pay this fictitious debt !
I am writing this review for my friend, whatever you do, do not move into these apartments, they wont let them break there lease due to a pipe bursting behind there fridge and now there is water damage. if water damage is not taken care of then it sits there and molds and starts to stink. the staff doesnt want to resolve there issues. and now my friend is stuck at these apartments with water damage. in my opinion if you guys want to keep yalls residence that yall have I would recommend fixing peoples problems that live under yalls roof
Misty is very professional and very easy to work with GREAT MANAGER. These apartments are very reasonable for the location and really nice. i cant wait to move in and become part of the community.
I have lived here at Pecan Grove with my boyfriend for about a year and a half now, and we love it. The staff are polite and awesome (one of them even helped me jump my car), and maintenance is very quick, not that our apartment needs much fixing. The neighbors are very quiet and very nice, and the grounds are always keep clean of any trash. The 24/7 laundry room sometimes has machines that break, but maintenance is always quick to fix it. Sometimes the gates do not work, and the access pad definitely need upgrading, but I have never felt unsafe in this complex. The appliances are very nice, the air conditioning works great, but for whatever reason our apartment has limited hot water. It is near UT shuttles and is only a ten minute walk to Intramural fields and the triangle. The only major problem I have with these apartments is that when we renewed our lease, our rent went up $100 a month, and im afraid it will continue to rise.
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! I moved here from out of state and it was important to me to find a place that was safe, and close to everything! Only 15 min to Domain area and 15 min to SOCO area. The staff, especially Courtney, made signing a lease a breeze and do an amazing job at keeping us informed of everything. They host several resident events and maintenance is always very prompt and friendly! Highly recommended!P.S. the units are renovated with great finishes(granite countertops, Subway tile backsplash, etc) which is especially nice 👍🏼
The reason for this review is not because of the management at the leasing office. It’s in regards to the amount of issues myself and my boyfriend have had since the day we moved in.(The maintenance staff have fixed and addressed everything in a timely manner.) Cynthia, and Joe are great at what they do. It’s not really their fault. This is an older property, things break over time. However when we moved in the first thing that happened was the refrigerator was at a rather high cool setting. So I lowered it. The next day after moving in, I come to my kitchen and there is a large pool of water taking over the whole kitchen. They fix it, cool. No big deal but kinda inconvenient when you first move in and you still have boxes on the ground. Myself and my boyfriend went to work. After hanging a healthy amount of clothes in the closet on the provided shelf. Nothing too heavy. The whole shelf collapsed. Maintenance was called to come fix. Within a day they came to fix it. Cool these things happen. 2 days after moving in, at this point I’m unpacking the bathroom stuff. I noticed a pool of water under the bathroom sink. Then I noticed it probably had been sitting there for a while. I noticed mold building up. The left side of the cabinet ( made of some kind of wood) swelled up within the swelling there was black and white spores of mold within the crack. They “fixed it by using bleach” and paint.” Days later after the paint dried I noticed the mold that was hidden by the paint had came back. Not as bad. However I’d prefer not to deal with mold at all. Then 2 months into the lease, the bathtub started to peel.(instead of replacing the tub, they “resurface it”. AKA basically paint.) I notified maintenance, about 2 weeks later the third party came to resurface it again. (It took 2 weeks because the have to schedule it, not their fault.) Also a similar issue happened with the sink. They replaced the sink. At this point I’m getting annoyed by all the continued issues. Not to mention when they resurface the tub, you can’t shower or take a bath for 36 hours. Being in a one bedroom one bath apartment without that is very inconvenient. Now about a month later I get a call when I’m at work, “ do you have water leaks anywhere in your apartment?”. I didn’t know if there was because I was at work. So I leave work early. I get home and well...... my whole apartment is in a pool of water about 3 inches deep. The waterline that goes to the ice maker had burst. My shoes, and my surge protectors on the ground were ruined, luckily none of my Electronics we’re broken. Just the power cords and the chargers. Which are not cheap. Was put in a hotel for 2 days. At this point myself and my boyfriend are kinda over the whole situation, and are wanting out of the lease. It’s so inconvenient to be living out of a suite case, and not knowing when our apartment is going to be ready to move back into. Like I said Cynthia and Joe did everything in their power to help us. However the “newly renovated apartment, and gourmet kitchen, and Live Life Abundantly, and Love Living Here, and Unparallel Living” statements aren’t very accurate. I reach out to corporate to get in contact with me about breaking the lease. Days go by with no response. On the better business bureau website, they are rated an F. So shouldn’t be shocked. You could find a much better apartment near by for a little more and probably not deal with all this. Don’t let the looks of the interior of the apartment suck you in like it did to myself and my boyfriend. They are older apartments with quick fixes put on them. The granite countertops with the original cabinets from 1980’s, and original windows that are single pane. Hope this helps whoever is looking for a new place to live, really look at the apartments before signing a lease. Look at the layers of paint. Look how old they are. Below are pictures of how luxury living is.
I love living here! Great location and lovely staff
Always an awesome and pleasant staff. Very affordable for the highly desired Hyde Park Triangle area.
Too many issues to count
Too many issues to count with the apartment, too little care for the customer. Customer beware...
Overpriced!Paper thin walls and no amenities
Old apartments that have many issues such as water damage and mold and in spite of these very serious issues corporate will not let you out of the lease
Super ghetto and corporate..felt unsafe.
