Like rent because I can actually afford it based the income I receive. They have new staff that is more professional and friendly than the other girl that was there before, so I see change but it is all to better this place. Anyone who complains is ungrateful, they need to go live in another place and see how grateful we are to have new people coming in to make these changes. I really like that this apartments have cameras all over and only people who live here can walk in. Its security for me and my kids, it does not feel like prison at all, it feels like good! Poor people verbally attacked the staff because they are new but I can personally tell that they will make lots of changes to better this place. Thank you new people for caring

Me again, follow up for the last review. I have since still had issues with the management. I did end up calling and leaving a voice mail for Mrs. Gina and have not heard back. Multiple emails and voice messages to the office have not paid off. They now have hideous black gates in the complex. It does not give off a gated community feel, more like a lets keep these low income families locked up. I have not seen landscaping or power washing in the complex either. Its very sad.Note- The outside gates are fine, also the garage one is a good idea.

So I’ve been on the wait list since 2016 and I been calling to see where I am at on the waitlist and still nothing then in 2018 I go in and spoke to someone and they ended up moving me to a 4 bedroom. Well I call today Tuesday August 24th2019 and spoke to a lady name Tracy and says I am not on a waitlist and that I need to come in and fill another application out. I am so upset about this because I waited Patiently and seeing friends and family who applied after me get a place there before me. I just feel like it’s not my fault management keeps changing and rules keep changing I feel like I did my part

Trash trash even management and some just got there last week its like living in a prison with all the locked gates and all the house lights they dont fix any issue that you may have in your apartment. Over charge on water bills because they dont come fix anything or say they did but didnt had them do this 3x and the only way I know they didnt was because I marked it and the problem cont. Until I stood in front of them and watched myself. Very unprofessional

Since the new management took over, the place has gone to trash, literally. The old team treated you with respect and gave you answers if there was a problem.- Trash piled in the trash rooms. Instead of threatening to close the trash rooms, why not hire more help and be sure they are emptied on Fridays and Mondays especially.- Management in the office treats you like dirt. I assume they think since this is income based housing you dont deserve respect.- Elevators are always out. I am not disabled however feel bad for those who are. The elevators help me get my 4yr old (who is scared of going down stairs) and 1 year old( still learning to walk) down and to school on time. When they are out, its an extra 10 min to get them down the stairs with just myself and backpacks added.- People hang out in halls. I am freaked out being a single mother that someone can easily come behind me when I try to open my door getting home with two kids.- People smoking on the stairs. I dont think i need to explain this one.- halls are dirty. They do not power wash the halls anymore. Its filthy.- Rats, you can hear them at night in the walls. My neighbor says she saw one. There are notices on doors to not touch, so i assume they are around.- Hispanic lady in the office was being rude so I asked for her supervisors number. She gave me her own phone #. She told me that she was the supervisor, I asked for the owner of Dominium to contact me, she said I am lucero, She must think i am uneducated.I have a feeling based on the way the office staff treats residents they want to push us out. I am next to an empty apt. The apt has been empty since new management took over.

The negative reviews for Lucero are, well, shocking given the attitude its residents appear to have. Reality check, people:1. You are living in newly built apartments -- in what has become one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Austin, no less -- at rent levels a fraction of what they would be at market level. At the LOW end, a two-bedroom apartment in the nearest complexes built around the same time would be $2,200-$2,300-month. No, Lucero obviously doesnt have the same level of finish-out, but Ive seen them and theyre easily the most upscale rent-subsidized units in Austin, if not the entire state!! Some of them even have DOWNTOWN SKYLINE VIEWS!!2. There are TENS OF THOUSANDS OF AUSTINITES who would LOVE to live in a complex thats both nearly new and in such a central location -- including ones like myself who formerly lived in East Austin but have been displaced by the rampant gentrification going on there -- but cant because the waiting list at Lucero is so long that its management has literally stopped putting people on it!! Given the endless waiting lists for every type of subsidized or Section 8 housing in Austin, Ive been forced to move my family into a part of Northeast Austin I can GUARANTEE you is many times more dangerous than Lucero, a complex surrounded on all sides by single-family houses priced at or near $1 million.3. I dont doubt that the complex has problems with roaches and mice. That is because WE LIVE IN TEXAS, people! Both are very common in housing of all types!! Instead of whining about the management not addressing it instantly, how about TAKING CARE OF IT YOURSELVES? You can buy a huge container of boric acid for about five bucks. It kills roaches almost instantly! (And btw rats arent common to this part of the country, so what youre probably hearing in the walls are field mice, which are very common. Guess what? You can get rid of them with mousetraps baited with peanut butter-covered saltines. This isnt rocket science, people!! Expecting management to do EVERYTHING for you simply REEKS of entitlement issues.)4. As for the complaints about crime: seriously?? In Bouldin Creek?!? YOU get to send your kids to Travis Heights Elementary, in one of the nicest areas of town. I have to drive my kids to one of the lowest-rated schools in Austin because SO MANY OTHER KIDS THERE HAVE BEEN ROBBED OF THEIR LUNCH MONEY WHILE WAITING FOR THE BUS! Ill also just hazard a guess that APD responds about 10x more quickly to complaints about noise and loitering in Bouldin Creek than they do in my part of town. And as for whining about people smoking in the hallways: unless theyre smoking HEROIN OR METH - which happens ALL THE TIME where I live - you should be thanking your lucky stars youre only exposed to cigarette smoke!!5. Finally, the complaints about the ADDITION of gated parking take the cake!.The whole POINT of such gates is to prevent non-residents from entering the complex and breaking into either apartments or cars! The management is not trying to lock poor people in! COME ON!!To be clear, some of the complaints here are valid. Theres no excuse for elevators not to be working in any complex where wheelchair-bound folks live. The story about raw sewage odors seeping into apartments is just, well, disgusting (assuming its not exaggerated). By and large, however, the complaints here sounds like theyre coming from a bunch of SPOILED BRATS who have NO IDEA how fortunate they are to have access to subsidized housing this new, nice, and located barely 10 minutes from downtown via bus. You are LITERALLY living there mostly on the taxpayers dime, but somehow think youre entitled to the same level of service those folks in the $2,500/month luxury apartments on S. Lamar get! THATS NOT HOW IT WORKS, PEOPLE!! Worse, youre exhibiting almost every stereotype held against POC, especially those in subsidized housing!!If you dont like Lucero, then please MOVE OUT, because there are SCORES of less-fortunate folks like myself whod love to be there in your place!!!

The place is infested with roaches. Always police in and out because of the section 8 kinda people they allow to stay there. Always trash on the ground . Mantinence is terrible management is terrible. Would be some nice apartments but the people just keep the quality of the living low . People leave trash in the trash rooms and don’t even attempt to put it down the shoot . I’m paying full price for my apartment and found out some section 8 people who I might add are well able to get a job I mean young 20 year olds are paying 400 to 600 for a 2 bedroom! How is that possible ?! If you looking to move into these apartments and are paying the amount they actually go for ... don’t ! You’ll be living with low life pos’s and roaches . You’d be better off with roaches tbh

Ive lived here since they opened in February 2016, the first management team was amazing and friendly. Everything was cleaned properly and I never had an issue. As of August 2017 we have had new management and its the worst. Trash is always everywhere. The elevatoris always broken ( and its usually more than one out at once) with the disabled people here it is unfair. And the women intheoffice are sooooo rude, andthey never have information right. They want you out of the office as much as possible but cant get work orders out on time. Its really sad. I love this location but I will be leaving soon due to lack of management. If you want to live here be my guest. Unless ypu like dirty halls and stairways and ignorant management, go ahead move in.

If your looking to move to these apts by section 8, just dont.Thers is a couple of reasons as to why.1. Understanding that those are new apartments,Why would section 8 qualify people to live ther if ther are so many restrictions. That most candidates cant fallow. Like in the terms of, cleanliness, smoke free, and such. Many have been kicked out bc of it, but what they dont see is those people are disable. Most atleast. And cant keep a place clean unless they have someone coming over to help.2. Which leads to reason number 2.They dont want others being ther so often during the day with out assuming they are living ther. So if they cant have ppl helping out their own family members out, and eventuality get kicked out . Its probably not the place for you . Assuming something is much different then what really is. And those ppl sitting behind the table at the office just truly dont care one bit. Its like they want a dr. Note just for anything, when it should be pretty much common sence, wouldnt you thing right? Anyone that goes on the daily you can expect to have a couple of your things laying around your family members house. But to expect the worse, when the ppl sitting behind the table at the office say different is kind of hard to say other wise.3. Some of the ladys at the office. Are pretty much rude. Like once i heard from one of the guys from the moving company that provide ther service, ask for a simple water, and one of them said no we do not have any and having bottle waters at the office. Then they ask to go to the store, and yet are denied that privilege.I dont work at a moving company, but i do know moving heavy furniture all day can get pretty tiring. And maybe dehydration from forcing your body to use strength and heating your body. Pretty much like when you go work out, you will eventually get thirsty. And i think is rude to deny another human being the right to ATLEAST be able to go get himself something to drink, if they dont want to supply the beverage.None the less they are beautiful apts, but those are some of the cons i see. Have a beautiful view of dt austin
