Promontory Point was an amazing place to live! They provide excellent customer service and speedy maintenance. The only reason i moved out was because I landed a new job in a different city. If you are looking for a new place to call home this would definitely be a great choice!

Do not move here. The office does not ever answer the phone, respond to requests, and only acknowledges you exists when rent is due. When the winter freeze hit and power and water went out, they did nothing for over a week and ignored all their tenets. They waited until my roof literally collapsed into the apartment, before sending an eviction notice form their legal team. Also there are roaches. Find a different place to live.

I’ve lived in this complex before and it’s gotten worst. I often see roaches on the property. Maintenance is nice but not efficient at actually fixing anything. They have came to work on my kitchen twice and messed up the tile from moving the fridge. The locks weren’t completely changed when I moved it. There is a large crack in my wall, and holes on the bases boards in the closet, kitchen, and restroom. I was also rented a unit which need a cabinet replaced because it was rotting and falling apart. I was unable to view the apartment before moving in due to COVID- 19 guidelines. The rent is cheap but the apartments aren’t super clean, upkeep is horrible and the workers in the front office are horrible!!!! They often give misinformation, don’t follow up on issues and aren’t helpful when you make any type of safety and maintenance report. While working on my front door maintenance walked away leaving my door open and my apartment unlocked! Unprofessional! This happened twice! Save your time and find another complex! It’s not worth it!!!Update!!They didn’t fix anything!! I moved to another unit that’s had multiple RAW SEWAGE backups!! They cut off the water and we had no way to clean up the sewage for 2 days!! They haven’t cleaned my apartment!! Or explained how the water got in my closet. Or sanitized anything. Karen Cash offered to release me from my lease but with no assistance, and not discounting the rent after it happened again. Don’t move here they will take you’re money and not fix anything!!! I might have to get a lawyer to get justice, they are violating all kinds of laws! They even enter your apartment without you knowing and leave no work order!! Watch out they are criminal!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Everything breaks all the time. Our apartment has flooded 6 or 7 times now. It takes them forever to do any work orders. Or to even figure out the problem. The office staff doesn’t do anything about anything. Johanna is the only one who is good at her job. This place is gross. They painted the bathtubs with wall paint so all the paint is coming off now. Pieces of the walls are literally chipping off. The bug problem is unreal. The windows don’t close all the way. Our front door doesn’t close most of them time unless we lock it. The cabinets look like an animal has eaten them. The electrical sockets stop working on the regular. When we moved in they hadn’t even started cleaning. They had just painted and we had paint fumes in our apartment for 2 weeks. We’ve reported them to Austin code to say the least. This has been the worst renting experience. Our 13 month lease was the longest and we couldn’t wait to put in our 60 day notice and get the hell out of there. No one EVER rent here.

Horrible experience since the day we moved in. Day 1- move in day. My family walked in the doors to the cleaning crew just beginning the cleaning preparations towards a liveable home space. They repainted the walls and the showers(yes, they paint the bathtubs with wall paint) the day we moved in, so the apartment reeked of paint for 4 days strait. Nothing had been dusted, and there were so many apologies for not having anything ready for us on our move in day. Most of the electrical sockets don’t work or are not strong enough to hold the plugs in.WARNING: DO NOT SIGN A LEASE FOR APT 710- it is infested with roaches, and a small family of mice that run from underneath the fridge into the side panel for the dishwasher. There are consistent leaks in the guest bathroom, above the AC unit, and also above the washer. There are holes in the walls and also underneath the kitchen sink. I’m sorry if you’ve already signed one.The ads claim that this complex is “Under New Management” but that’s a lie. They say this to give you hope of a better living community than what the reviews say but the truth is in the reviews- read them! Shawn is the Property Manager, he’s good for literally nothing. Bruce is the Assistant Property Manager and he is also good for nothing. These two will tell you what you want to hear and empathize with you with no real intention of helping you out with the problems you have in your home. You have to create at least 4 work orders for them to actually begin to take care of the issue at hand. You have to follow up with them numerous times just to make sure they received the work order l, to which they will tell you to make another one because they can’t find the one you made.Upon putting in our notice to vacate the management team took us off The Hub registry. We were expecting packages still and never received email confirmations that we had packages waiting for us to pick up- although we had emails from amazon stating the packages had been delivered. Mind you, we have been receiving email confirmations in the past. The management team blamed us and told us that we may not have set up our accounts and that we need to make sure we did so. I then showed them ALL the previous email confirmations to my email about my apartment number- to which they said someone may have cancelled our subscription prematurely. Made no sense at all. They re-created our accounts so that we could continue to pick up the packages we received since we still have a month to go of living there. This place is just one big inconvenience and a bunch of half ass work all around.I could go on and on about how bad this management team is but I think you get the idea. Good luck in your search for a good complex to call your home, this place should not be that complex.

I live in the 2x2 and I absolutely LOVE my apartment. Life is life and things break. They would if I were in a house too. Any time I need service in my apartment the maintenance people always take care of it right away. Im a happy resident here and have referred my friends to live here as well!

I loved this place up until I woke up this morning and someone had stolen my plants from the front door! Maybe if the apartment had the gates working, which they never are, I would be able to at least know it was someone inside the complex that stole them. Now it could be anyone! It is very sad knowing I cant even have my other plants out front without feeling like someone else is going to steal them! People here are trash!

I have lived here nearly 3 years now.At first management wasnt great but now they have a tight office crew that work great for the residents needs. They do listen and follow through with reasonable request. There is a higher class of residents that actually look out for each other, young and older folks. Great location and not directly on a bus line. Pet friendly, but wish we had an enclosed dog area for lease free play time. I will stay here. Sincerely Peggy M.

I would consider living here if I didnt have a house, but you never know what the future holds. The grounds look good and the pool is always clean.

WARNING DO NOT MOVE IN!!! Its been 15 weeks from move in date. I have been having issues with the apartment since I moved in, small insects, roaches, mold, cabinet coming apart, holes on walls not properly taken care of, missing base board, doors coming apart, paint coming off frequently, side cabinet face replaced and not painted, really not worth your money, I got shown a model and the apartment I got was nothing compared to what I saw, they marked it as an upgraded apartment and only upgrade it had was staining the cabinets and changing the faces to the cabinet doors, but everything else was old and rotten, every time i open my door from underneath my sink and once I would close it small pieces of wood would fall. Washer and dryer don’t work as needed, we got our dryer replaced but still have the same issue of not drying after 3-4 times we turn it back on, I believe it’s clogged and they don’t even hire someone to figure it out, it’s not my job to get back there and check it myself, that’s why we pay rent and they have maintenance. I don’t mind doing it but as far as how the office takes care of their issues I’m not wasting my time. Rating this apartment 0 SAVE YOUR MONEY GO SOMEWHERE WORTH YOUR MONEY!

I love it here. Just renewed my lease. Its quiet for the most part and they have fixed every issue Ive had with my apartment so far. There was one incident where it took them a while to get me a replacement fridge and I lost $50 worth of groceries after telling them countless times my fridge would never get cold enough. That is the reason Im only giving them 4 stars. Other than that, the rent is reasonable for the amount of space I have.

Just moved here from Houston and was considering moving into Salado Apartments which sit behind this one. I saw this one on this list of apartments in the area as well. At the last minute I decided to stop by while in the area. Glad I did. Very quiet ( sometimes too quiet ), landscaping is great along with BBQ grills on the grounds and super cool staff. Ive only been here two weeks so far and only had to report minor repairs which has been taken care of. My unit has come with a washer and dryer which saves me gas money and coins. I hope this complex remains the same during my time here

Sure, the area isn’t fantastic but the price was very competitive for Austin. Do recommend this place

Overall I’ve enjoyed living here other than the fact that maintenance requests take 6 weeks or longer to be completed. We were promised upgrade and our carpets were filthy and we had buy a cleaner and wash them ourselves bc our place reeked of dog when we moved in. Our counter is warped and has yet to be repaired. The office did reach out to me one day at 5 pm and told me and pet had to be out the next day if we wanted it repaired, not even a full 24 hours notice so we haven’t had that addressed yet since we don’t want strangers in our home stealing from us again. The mail get stolen all the time and this time around the mail isn’t being left at leasing office, but being held at the post office. And the office will call you to confront you while your at work if they think your frustrated with their under trained leasing agent and accuse you of being rude. Other that the gross lack of storage space, this place is great, if you don’t mind the cluster of homeless a block away.

I lived at Promontory Point for a year. I only moved last month because I had to. When I first moved in I was nervous reading all of the reviews, however I had no problems. Roaches??? Never had any!!! Whoever wrote the reviews about the roaches needs to take a look at how they are living themselves, because I never had a problem. Anytime I had a maintenance issue, they resolved it quickly! The Management when I first moved in wasnt great, but the new management does a great job. The pool and parking is great!!! I would recommend this property to anyone that is moving to that area of town.

These people are the most greediest people/managers. I called about the industrial light in the kitchen. I will be charged $14.00 plus tx on my next rent statement. I will not be allowed to take them with me when I leave.dont let this people move you to the back. it is ugly and nasty the cat urine is very strong. sure the front part of this complex is decent with greens and palm trees. check out the back it is a different story. the parking lot is full of holes, the trash is over flowing-especially the weekends, the large possums roam freely and greet you at your car door, they make no improvements to the landscaping. sure they have people come and blow the dirt/dust and leaves back into your patio. when it rains mud is all on the sidewalks this is very dangerous very slippery. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. yeah, it cheaper than other places or it used to be. not anymore.please be careful if you are thinking about renting here.domestic violence is high at this apartments.

I hate it here!! I move in a couple of days and I cannot wait. Today the water is off and without any notice!! Its a Saturday and no water. The A/C units are just as old as the apartments and are hanging on to dear life. These people fixed the parking lot but the real problem is on the inside of the units!!! We live in TEXAS the heat is ridiculous, when I come home I want to come to a apartment that does not feel like Im still standing outside!! Do NOT move here, you get what you pay for, since its so cheap then you better expect the worst!! They changed owners and they changed the parking lot but everything else about these apartments are TRASH!!! These apartments belong to the big dog size raccoons and possums that walk around like they are supposed to be here. Maintenance is slower than molasses so dont expect them to come fix nothing for a couple of weeks after putting in a request or until u raise hell. Just TRUST THE REVIEWS AND DONT MOVE HERE!!!

Im currently apartment hunting and put in a inquiry to Promontory Point Apartments. I get a call from them during my lunch break today and they were asking what I was looking for and when I was looking to move. I informed them that I had a broken lease that should be taken care of prior to the month I moved in. The person on the phone made it seem like she didnt want to talk to me anymore and said we dont deal with anyone that owes another property. Which is confusing since I would not be owing a property at the time Im starting applying to places. I guess since I wasnt an easy commission for her I was a nobody If thats the first encounter with a worker there, then Im guessing being tied to a lease would mean worse treatment since you are stuck under their lease when you sign. Ill just go elsewhere...

I just paid my second month rent at Promontory Point and I dont know about the reviews left by others but I couldnt be happier. I knew going into this apartment that it was an older complex, but I also know that other apartments the same size that were newer were $150-$300 per month higher. I grew up in this area and lived at Rundberg and N Lamar from 2009-2011 so I know the challenges neighborhoods that are a little rough around the edges can present, but I also know that you can have problems in any neighborhood. Crime knows no boundaries.Having said that I have not had any problems with anybody bothering me. Im a 52 year old female and I walk the complex every evening and park my truck in the general parking area near my apartment. I have no guarantee that something wont happen and the odds may be a little better here but this is the risk I am willing to take for a reasonable rent every month. Furthermore I have a friend who pays $1,000 a month for a two bedroom in a nice complex in a nice neighborhood and someone just went through that complex and slashed tires on numerous vehicles including his, for no apparent reason.Any maintenance issues I have had have been addressed in a timely manner. The office staff is professional, friendly, and has done everything they have said they would do. All my documentation is in order, I love my little balcony, the area is quiet, the pool is gorgeous, the neighbors are nice, and while I realize Ive only been here a month, I am completely comfortable.Ive read reviews about bugs, havent seen the first one. Mold - none. Flooding? Come on, one review said the complex flooded last year. Were in a drought, the ground is so hard packed that any amount of rain is going to sit on the top of the ground. We just had a two inch rain last weekend and there was no flooding here, just some puddles. I really was hesitant about doing this review because Im not sure I want this place to get too crowded, but out of fairness to the staff, I did it anyway. I will add more reviews as time goes by.Cheers ...

I have mixed opinions about Promontory Point. I love what I have turned my home into and the space I have with amenities for the price. Ive had some good encounters with the management. But Ive also had some nightmarish experiences living here.Ive been in two apartments (the first for 5 months, and my current for 5 months as well), since my first apartment was infested with roaches from the time I moved in. I didnt realize these were German cockroaches and had no idea how badly the apartment was infested. My apartment was kept clean and sanitary, yet the roaches remained. Before moving I kept simply being answered with well do a treatment, which I accepted for the first couple months. But the problem persisted due to other apartments around me having worse infestations so theyd return. Even with several deeper treatments and even treatments of surrounding apartments didnt help. After 5 months of thinking everything moving in the corner of my eye was a cockroach running through my home, I had enough. (I can go into so much more detail but will leave it at that.)After putting my foot down and finally moving across to another apartment building, I havent seen a roach. Awesome, just as it should be. There are, however, other issues in the new apartment I didnt experience in the first. While I never heard a footstep above me in my old place, I have a family above that seems to be constantly practicing for the Olympics. I can hear every movement they make- which is A LOT. The building is old and its annoying, but alas, Ill take it over the roaches. There has been an issue with dog waste and even with warnings irresponsible pet owners arent making use of pet waste stations. Especially gross after baking in the Texas sun right in front of my apartment. For Shame. As for someone mentioning they are even redoing the pool! ... It was forced closed months ago due to sanitary issues. The tennants were never specifically notified of this inconvenience except for the posted notice on the pool gate we were greeted with when thinking we could make use of the ammenity. It has been closed and emptied for months, and weve even had a few nice days I would have been happy to sunbath by the pool. Still, no information has been given to us about when it will be ready.Parking is pretty fine, can be busy but Ive never had a time I couldnt get a spot. Cant complain there. They did add some nice landscaping/ grill area (though no seating is provided) and it makes for a nice atmosphere.Maintenance earns a solid D- in my book. My AC unit stopped working 2 weeks ago the day my family was visiting. I was told hopefully theyd get to it that day, but luckily it wasnt too hot out. It was actually 80 degrees and my apartment felt like a sauna. They only came when the unit somehow flooded my bathroom. They replaced the entire system but the communication during the process was pretty dismal.Another notice is the time maintenance takes. I see some people saying how much better it is *now*, well. I called about needing a part for my dryer two weeks ago (since apparently the old vent tube was cracked and was completely detached from the time I moved in), and I still havent heard an update or seen a face. I cannot push my dryer into its space due to the issue so I havent had space to do laundry. TIMING MAKES A DIFFERENCE.As for the people in the office: The first set were absolutely horrible, but they didnt last long. They tried to pull a lot of ridiculously illegal stuff with me during my move in process, I hope they no longer work in this field. James was awesome and I was so sad when I learned he left- something due to when the pipes broke. Bruce has been friendly during every interaction and has gone the extra mile to help me a time or two. And beyond that its a growing sea of new faces and names I cant keep track of.So this all pretty much sums up my experience here. A lot of stuff sucks, but some important stuff doesnt suck so bad.

This place is the absolute worst place to ever live!! I literally just moved in 2 days ago and has been a nightmare since day one!! Not only did the front office notify me that the water was going to get shut off and when it was supposedly back on 10 minutes ago, they forgot to turn mine on, but worst of all. The maintenance man tells me there has been a problem with rats there for a while and all that is done about it is rat traps... As I mentioned earlier,I just moved in 2 days ago. Not only did my son see a huge rat run across our kitchen counter, but you can hear the rats all night long in the kitchen getting into the food. I called the front office and of course business hours are 9-6pm. No one answers the phone up until right before 10am. The female Sharlisa (pr however you pronounce her name) denied ever having knowledge of the apartments having rats. Wow!! What a coincidence that i live on the 2nd floor and all of a sudden there is a huge rat in my kitchen! The only thing she can do to help the situation is call maintenance to come out and cover the holes!! Ohh wait, atleast until someone can come out on Monday!! Then I call to ask what time someone was coming at 2pm, and she states she didnt think Id want them to come out since I didnt like her solution!!. This place is a nightmare and dont recommend it to anyone ever!!
