Not only do they refuse to provide a basic level of human decency in their units (electricity and water for starters) BUT apparently their associates like to put hands on their tenants. Karma is not enough for these pieces of trash.Save yourself and DO NOT RENT HERE
DO NOT RENT HERE. I am not from Austin and took a chance on these apartments as a last minute option. ALWAYS read the reviews and do not brush them off. Take this as a warning. Regional Mgr Sean is a joke. Resident care and Leasing office employees change as often as you change your underwear. Literally from day to day. The only Consistent thing about these apartments is the constant INCONSISTENCY. They’ve been fined over 120 times by the City Of Austin and it’s for a damn good reason. Lack of communication, urgency, and transparency to residents. They have yet to fix the winter damages from February. This is the FIRST month that we haven’t had our water turned off since we’ve moved in. (1 year ago) Will fine you for leaving things on balcony and trash outside door BUT, allows maintenance and construction crew to leave trash all over the property grounds. (NO, we do not leave trash outside our balcony or porch but, just funny how they try to reprimand residents yet, do not follow their own “rules/standards”.) Be warned they tried to evict 20+ families and residents after the winter storm yet, made zero attempts to repair ANY damages. The residents here have had to start their own tenants association and team up with BASTA to get ANY help. Take my advice, find another place to live.
This apartment complex doesn’t care about their tenants. They don’t answer the phone after several attempts during working hours. They did not fix the apartments after the winter storm instead told their tenants to move out so they could get new tenants, who didn’t know any better. Charges you when you move out for cleaning the apartment, when you couldn’t clean it because you had no water or electricity to clean it. Yet, they asked all tenants to keep paying full months rent each month even when they were not fixing anything like water pipes that busted. Look up the several news links for this place. Don’t move here! It’s unsafe and management is terrible! Even the local city council came out here with the news to report this place.
WARNING:: BE ALERT:: NOT RECOMMENDED AT ANY COSTI stay in Houston and was suppose to move in here on 1/16/2021 which is yesterday with my roommate for 2 bed 2 bath apartment. I was in touch with Tricia Moreno almost 2 week before my move in we even did virtual tour. The reviews were positive and Tricia was really nice but then I got horrible experience which nobody can think off.Issues started when I got the keys from leasing and went to see the apartment. I left like they have not even checked once after the previous tenant left the apartment.Issues Faced while Move-In:* Kitchen floor damaged* Bathtub chipped and dirty* Bathroom vent extremely dirty* Carpet Dirty not even washed once* Master bedroom wall chipped* Bathroom wall damaged* Kitchen -- Exhaust fan coil dirty (It should be replaced)* Dishwasher was broken* Balcony looks not even cleaned once* Fire Place dirty as hell* Stinking Refrigerator with yellow stains in it.* Kitchen Platform and Washroom Sink was yellow.I reported immediately to the leasing lady who was working that time on Saturday. They didnt even show the concern about working on their flaws and the lady left the office without calling me back which made me return to Houston with my stuff. It was such a devastating experience in my life I never faced any such issues with the apartments previously I lived in.I wish I can give them 0 rating. Please refer to the pictures posted along with this review.
DO NOT MOVE HERE. This is a horrible place to live. There’s pest. Added fees. There are water issues every other DAY. I kid you not. The office is very unprofessional, horrible value, horrible quality, horrid responsive. I lived here for 9 months then got hit with a notice to vacate and they gave me 7 days to move out because of “winter storm issues”. They didn’t provide me with any movers, no other unit options, and no compensation. They will tell you that they got “all new management” but they told me that too and proceeded to change management 3-4 times. Unless they knock this whole complex down, no one should live in these conditions. You will be next door to drug dealers, loud dogs barking at all times, and your car will probably be broken into. I am not being biased, there is a whole community group about how horrible this complex is. Do not, do not, do not move here.
I never got the chance to move into Mueller Flats but I am extremely grateful now if it meant that I had to deal with the ridiculously unprofessional, rude, disrespectful office staff, the main one being JASMINE. I filled out an application a week ago and never got a call back except for when I called, I was lucky if they would answer. Her response would always be, oh yeah I was meaning to call you She then told me that my service animal document was not, legit which is the biggest lie I had ever heard. Im epileptic and am not going to be scammed by a cheap apartment complex into paying them more money. THEN after a week of filling out ridiculous applications I had never heard of I had called and her response was, oh I forgot to tell you your application was denied 48 hours after processed because all of your information was fake, refused to let me speak to her manager then hungup on me. Also, not sure if this was the same lady I had met when I originally went and viewed this terrifying complex but she did not ask my name or get me or my sisters ID which is in fact ILLEGAL. I mean come on yall, read the reviews about how disgusting the apartment complex is, broken ACs, neglect to tenants, gun shots, BREAK INS, broken pools, gym etc. the list goes on and on! Save yourself time, money, and maybe your life and DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!
Be ready for water issues. After the February 2021 winter storm, there has been flooding and mold. Not to mention still no hot water as of April, two months later. I’ve never lived at a worse property in my life and I will be moving as soon as my lease is up. Would not recommend.Edit: Still no hot water as of May, June, July, AugustEdit (2): Not one month has passed without hot water issues in two full years of living here
If I could give zero stars I ABSOLUTELY would. This place has been awful from the day we moved in. Roaches that will not go away no matter how hard you try, and just simply having water is rare at this point. I currently only have cold water and the water is turned off every other day. During the winter storm they did nothing to help us, and truly made things worse as they kept turning the water off. I would recommend NO ONE to live here as you will be wasting your money. There are far better places and management in other complexes for the same price. Save yourself from this place. I have never loved in a worse place.
Love my apartment they very helpful and great apartment to start off for your first time
Lived here for a year and can easily say this is the worst apartment complex Ive ever lived in. From poor management to sewage filling in our sinks randomly with nothing but a sorry you went through that from their customer service if they feel like responding.Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY!
BAD MANAGEMENT, DO NOT EVEN APPLY THEY ARE NOT TRUTHFUL!!!WISHED WOULD HAVE READ ALL THEIR BAD REVIEWS BEFORE APPLIED LOST $149 In application fee!!! Lady working in office was super nice at first very helpful but as soon as made application everything went south she had said deposit was going to be $600 which was already high to begin with then she said that because of bad credit the manager had said that had to pay $750 which is a lie credit is really good in the 750s then also wanting to charge $200 for 1st time renters which there is rental history also said there wasnt decided to back up because of all this lies and avoid further problems living there because ofother problems from tenants say theres roaches, alot of water issues and bad management this is not a good place thats why they have AVAILABILITY.ALSO FOUND OUT THEY ARE CHEAP THEY DONT PAY APARTMENT Locators their fee. READ ALL THE BAD REVIEWS BEFORE EVEN APPLYING BAD PLACE
Decent living. But they are tricky with their fines when you move out. $160 for a new lightbulb?? Be wary.
Whoever made 5 stars are absolutely lying. These are the WORST apartments I’ve stayed in my 32 years of living. Nothing gets done, STILL no water for weeks, no water at one point for weeks, almost froze during the storm and even after. Maintenance sucks, mold, unsurfaced tubs, grime behind stoves, so much I could say. Smh just ridiculous. Reaching out to management PRICELESS 🙄
Updated review due to recent, ongoing experiences with Mueller Flats. I moved out in September 2020, shortly after I moved out I get a call from a debt collector about final move out charges. Even though I took an entire day to clean out the apartment where I stayed the cleaning charges and final bills added up to $350. I paid it as I knew I would be charged the final bills but the total was outrageous. Its now April 2021 and I have a new debt from Mueller Flats in the amount of $155.I thought the terrible experience of living in one of the worst apartments would be enough to last a lifetime but the fact that they wish to remind me how terrible they are by charging me $155 almost 8 months after my lease ended shows that they like to live up to their horrible reputation.
Stole my money without ever completing my application or taking the unit of the market. Will not respond to any emails or calls regarding the issue. Will be in contact with property management company about the negligence of this property and their staff.edit: turns out the regional manager thinks this is ok so don’t waste your time here or any of the firmus properties
Do not move here !!!!!! So many problems and issues w this place and I’m pretty sure they’re under a lawsuit rn!!! Please find some where else.. they just walk in when your home w their key all the time, water is out once a week no kid. And way much more ...
These five star reviews are lies!! People are forced to live here with mold from floor to ceiling. DO NOT LIVE HERE!! YOU WILL REGRET IT. We didn’t have water for 15 days and others didn’t for longer. We still do not have hot water. If you want to flush your toilet with pool water, this is the place to be.
Management doesn’t seem to care at all about issues faced by tenants. I’ve currently been without A/C for almost 4 days, and they have repeatedly told me that it’s not a priority. Additionally, we have repeatedly lost water for long stretches without prior notice, and communication only happens after enough people have contacted them about the issue or they have to tell people.
I’ve lived here for almost a year and the experience was ok for the price until we got the snow storm in February. Not only did we not have anyway to get in contact with management while we were freezing to death in our apartments during the storm, but it’s been even more of a nightmare since then. We had no running water for almost 3 weeks, no hot water for a month and absolutely no support from property management. My neighbors and I called multiple phone numbers and sent emails but rarely received any response. The only thing management did was occasionally send out vague status updates that didn’t answer any questions we had. I’m lucky that my apartment wasn’t damaged, I have many neighbors still living in completely inhabitable conditions. On top of all of this, we’re still having to pay full price for rent. Multiple residents don’t have water again today. It feels like living in a third world country.
Mueller Flats was a great first apartment for me in Austin. It is a bit older but the units are renovated and nice inside. I really enjoyed my apartment layout, and while I did have problems throughout my lease (bugs, AC and heater not working) management was always friendly and responsive and resolved my issues quickly.I did have a small roach/ant problem when I first moved in, but they sprayed some stuff (Non-toxic to humans) and I never saw any bugs after that. The grounds couldve been cleaned up and maintained a bit better, but all-in-all, Mueller Flats is a great value for the size of the units and location (very close proximity to all my favorite restaurants and shopping centers), and a quick 5-10 minute drive to downtown. Thank you guys!
I DO NOT recommend this property.I moved here on 3/28/2020 after viewing the property and reading their reviews. The reviews all seemed positive and the leasing manager was really nice but then my experience went downhill. When asking the complex for a concession on my rent for being trapped in an infested unit for months, they said they would only agree if I waived my right to leave negative reviews on any site going forward. Do not trust the reviews here as they have likely done the same to other tenants. The review score I saw when looking at this complex is not representative of the experience I have had on this property. Proceed with caution. My issues began the moment I set foot in my unit upon move-in. There were multiple issues with the unit when I got my keys after I paid the first month rent up front. Because of COVID, they did not do a walkthrough with me. I had to move-in anyway because so many things were shut down and my other lease was ending.Issues Upon Move-In:* Several live bugs in sight* Kitchen light not working* Bathtub chipped and dirty* Bathroom vent extremely dirty* Fireplace tile chipped* Missing washer/dryerAfter much back and forth when contacting the office to get these issues resolved, several of the items were finally addressed. One of which included they refinishing my tub with dangerous chemicals while I was in the apartment with my cat. Despite trying to air out the apartment with fans and AC, I could barely breathe. They were supposed to refinish it while I was not in the apartment but they did not come on the agreed day. While the paint was drying, multiple bugs got stuck in the tub. After they installed my washer/dryer, my patio door was left misaligned and continually lets air and bugs in from outside. When trying to hook up the cable box from the package that the property requires me to get through Spectrum, I found that the bedroom jack isnt even wired to have cable. They did not resolve the bug issue. I continued to see around 15 live bugs a day and after my own research I discovered they were German Cockroaches. They sent out someone to spray on 4/6/2020 but the roaches did not subside. They then told me they couldnt send anyone due to COVID. I couldnt leave and go stay with a friend due to stay-at-home orders related to COVID. Despite using multiple bug killers, I still was seeing about 15 live roaches a day. They finally came back out and treated the apt on 5/6/2020 and it helped somewhat but require follow up treatments (that still havent happened). It has now been 2 months of back and forth with the office and I am still seeing multiple bugs a day. After several ignored emails, I finally reported them to the Better Business Bureau and they finally were willing to work with me. The primary solution they have offered is to move me to another unit, which would cost me more money and honestly might have some of the same issues I’ve already been dealing with. I’m not confident in their ability to maintain any unit on this property. As I mentioned above, any rent concession from them requires me to give up my right to leave to leave reviews about my experience.
Terrible would not recommend. Has no hot water for the longest. When they do send someone to come check they leave it in a worse state that it was. Paying north of 1500 and frankly it’s not acceptable
*UPDATE*(old reviews under s baker)The most detrimental now is well, another long list but I’ll start with the fact that I am disabled, had to travel 1500 miles to rescue my mother from an abusive husband the likes of which I pray to never witness again. I am all she has so I brought her to Austin with me and tried my best to make do while working sun-up to nearly sun-up on all the things needed for her and trying my best to find a first floor apartment that is affordable and in a safer complex (pretty sure any complex would be safer). I wasn’t finding anything when it came time for lease renewal offer but no one would answer me about it. That was over a month ago and I still do not have any response about the renewal.About a week before deadline to give 60 day notice I finally found a place. I was denied based on Leslie not returning the rental verification. I called the Leslie and simply asked if she’d received the verification form and she immediately begins talking over me with her angry, intimidation, deflection tones. Instead of answering my question she launched into a rant about another tenant (a friend of mine) who’d done an early move out with notice/approval and was trying to work out a payment plan for the barely month’s rent she owed.I told her I am calling about MY rental verification but she wouldn’t stop with the absurd rant. Here and there would say she’ll only submit my verification if I give her notice to vacate(?) Never had it done that way before but couldn’t ask a question without angering her more when I could get half a word in. She “schooled” me on how leases work and if I don’t give 60 day notice this and that. I was stunned into silence so she hung up on me after straight up laughing at me.I was desperate enough that I sent a scan of the handwritten notice to 4 email addresses I have on file for various areas/staff at Mueller Flats-all read within 30 minutes, then put the original in their drop box. Within an hour my AC suddenly stopped and no one, not even the “emergency maintenance” line would help me/call back. My mother and I had serious heat exhaustion symptoms so bad I couldn’t even call 911 (mind you this could be deadly for anyone but definitely my mother!)I got an extension for the verification(Saturday by 4pm) but again no dice on making contact with anyone in the office. 340ish pm I get a call it wasn’t received –if not by 4pm the file is closed&the apt back on the market. MF office is open till 4pm so I immediately began calling-left messages&text Leslie PLEADING/BEGGING to please send the verification “today”. Crickets.I felt like I was having a nervous breakdown I cried so hard/couldn’t breathe/trembling/heart racing-because now I’ve not only lost the one chance at securing an affordable apt but out nearly $500 we don’t have&I’ve no choice but move out of MF.It’s LaborDay wkend-the other place wouldn’t be open again until Tues.-so I gave it one more last ditch effort by waiting outside MF office on Mon. knowing it was to be open for a couple hours. The girl they had there knew nothing-tried to help but Leslie told her she’d send the verification in 1st thingTues.I call Leslie 11ishAM-she says yes, she’s sending it-had me confirm email2send it then told me she’d need a new form sent. Baffled, I tried to understand but she hung up on me. I call back to confirm her direct email&to ask for her boss’ contact info. She refused to give it to me. I asked again-she laughed&slammed the phone-hanging up again. It’s bad enough here but what she’s done to mom&me is so cruel, unnecessary and illegal. Sending information to lawyers today. DO NOT RENT HERE OR ANYWHERE FIRMUS’ NAME IS ASSOCIATED.
Where do I begin to rate how horrible this place is. I rarely give bad reviews but I hope people believe this is my truth. Lived here for three years and the only thing I can say decent was being able to pay the 1st and 15th but still pay an extra charge for that and the convenience of being close to downtown. When my roommate and I first moved in back in October 2017 the following month, there was already confusion about first months rent that mad absolutely no sense. The property manager at the time was such a horrible and vindictive person. The following January the hot water pipes were being repaired for over two weeks. We had no hot water for that period of time. Not once did we get compensated for our stress and it was a cold February month. Going forward, there were police officers there every day or every other day. The community washer and dryer rooms had equipment that was never reliable. The property manager at the time was still a pill to deal with. The water constantly being turned off at periods at a time. The office lacked communication with each other and would never give you a corporate number when things really got bad. Unexpected rodents popped up later that year. It was disgusting and costly. Toward the end of our lease this year the roach infestation was getting out of control, once again no communication, management was not taking responsibility. Cheap rent but ain’t with it in the end.
A big shout out to Cynthia for her urgent response to resolving the problems with my garbage disposal & toilet issues. Works great now. Thank you so much! 😀
Very dirty complex, constant water outages throughout the year, with no prior communication. The leasing office mainly Trisha Moreno is extremely rude and not understanding of the constant outage of basic essentials, I am really trying to be a reasonable human. The worst resediment care service ive experienced. I strongly do not recommend this complex for anyone wo live in. Its cheaper than a lot of places in Austin, so I guess 1 star is appropriate. So you get what you pay for.
Very bad report on the news. About to go on the repeat offender list from Austin Code compliance.
I wanted to say that my wife and I have been treated with the utmost kindness and generosity with respect.Sean has been an outstanding representative for us and am very glad to be apart of this organization.Sean not only is a great and outstanding guy, but also represents the company with professionalism and great integrity. With respect,Christos William Dranidis
I cannot stress this enough, the staff at mueller flats has never once failed to go above and beyond what their jobs are. Moving is stressful enough for anyone, but they really do EVERYTHING that they can to make sure things go smoothly and that theres no extra unnecessary bumps along the way. The apartments are gorgeous, the grounds are pretty well kept most of the time, and they always put the tenants first. Also a huge shout out to the management staff here, Sean and Carol, they pretty much saved our behinds by doing everything to help us expedite some important documents that were required to get us into our new house. It has honestly been such a pleasure to be a part of this community while we lived here.
This place is a high priced SLUM. The water has been turned off several times since weve lived here and a month ago the water was off COMPLETELY for 2 days!! Today, the water is off AGAIN!! The notice said it would be back on at 7PM. It is 8:30 and still no water!!There is an extreme roach infestation and black mold. We are counting down the days till we can move out of here, worst living decision we couldve made. DO NOT MOVE HERE.
Do not live here! Management does not care about their tenants and will overcharge you every chance they get. Worst apartments I have ever lived in. The apartments and grounds are incredibly dirty and very poorly taken care of. Save yourself some time and money and find another place to move into.
This place never listens we kept telling them our bedroom has water coming into it the carpets are wet there is mold on the wall it leaked on from the laundry room we had some wood against it and you can see how much water and mold is in the carpet …. I think I rather be homeless now now I have a cough I never until I moved in only been here 7 months I would never again live like this
They are the worst apartments the Projects would be better than this they have bad management they don’t have how to To communicate with her residence they wait to the last minute instead of putting out the notices day before they wait to the day of people constantly having water issues either it’s cold it’s never hot or it’s turned off and he says anything and then when you try to call to get some information they send you to another place so yeah Milla flats apartments are the worst apartments in the world I’d rather live in the projects
I am not usually one to write reviews, but what got me in the door to this place was that the reviews werent too bad. Im hoping this will help anyone thinking about leasing here to reconsider. We moved in 6 months ago and since then the water has been shut off 6 times (today was with no warning or even an email from management); the police are here at least twice a month (on 12/2/20 there were gunshots on the premises); our mail room and some boxes have been broken into; only 2 of the 4 gates actually work; and as many other reviews have already mentioned, the roaches. The good things about these apartments is that management is usually nice and there is always parking.**update - may 2021**Mueller Flats/Firmus has literally been on the news a few times for being a terrible place with a backlog of unresolved complaints with the city. The mail room doesnt have a lock on the door and still hasnt been fixed. Recently a package was delivered to the wrong unit, it was returned to the front office who called me and told me to pick it up from them. When I came to pick it up they suddenly had no idea where the package had gone, and told me it should be on my front porch or my patio (3rd floor, lol) shockingly there was nothing on either of the two.As a side note for management, if you dont enjoy talking to the people who lease from you then maybe this is the wrong job to get into. Stop acting like everyone is a nuisance. It is mid May and the water issues are still weekly if not every few days. At this point we have lost count of how many times weve had the water shut off or been without hot water. My maintenance requests to check out the water have been marked as completed despite no one ever showing up.We now have a tenant association trying to help the residents here deal with the poor management. Many of the residents were given a 7 day notice to vacate and were not offered any help with finding housing, or moving to another unit. After the City of Austin came by and gave us all flyers with tips on how to report problems to 311, management was caught ripping them off doors by multiple people. This is truthfully the worst place I have ever lived in my life, save your time and money
You should read the reddit stream on them. It tells you everything you need to know. Horrible place and horrible management
My mother was given a 3 day notice to vacate the apartment claiming that due to winter storm they need her to move out. She constantly had issues with water, a/c, heater, pest control, faucets not working, etc. I dont know how these apartments are still in business. Please do me a favor, DO NOT MOVE THERE! If you do, its going to be the worst nightmare.
It is very nice here and cleaned very well. Everyone is friendly and are quick to answer and/or solve any problems I have! Ken and Alex are awesome and always a great help!
BEWARE!!!! DO NOT MOVE HERE! WORST EXPERIENCE IN HOUSING I EVER HAD. DO YOUR RESEARCH!
The residents STILL do not have water it has been over a month. Water damage and mold present everywhere. Rent strike until repairs are made!
Residents are still affected by damages from the winter storm. Do not live here.
Been here two years and i love it. office staff is super helpfull and sean is the best. Big ups
Living here has been amazing. The staff has been very accommodating and helpful. Sean especially. Thank you guys for all that you do and continue to do to accommodate and be there for all of us that live there. Y’all rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alex and Ken are amazing. Alex goes above and beyond in every way. Im glad shes here. Always smiling and very helpful. Thank you guys
DO NOT LIVE HERE! I dont know whats worst: the complex or the leasing office staff. Leslie, the office manager, and the leasing staff are incompetent and NEVER follow up with you when you call or email them about serious issues. The girls in the office are sweet and friendly, but all of the information they gave me was always wrong and ended up costing me time and money! Leslie is the worst, I emailed about issues with the apartment and she never responded. When I asked to speak to Leslies manager, she refused to give me her number and will only provide an email. If you are thinking of subleasing from a current resident PLEASE DO NOT ! I did and was told I would get the security deposit, so I left the apartment SPOTLESS and even had the carpet deep cleaned and never saw that money even though the leasing office assured me MANY times that I would get the deposit since I took over the lease. But what really makes this place awful is the lack of security. THIS PLACE IS NOT SAFE! If you are a single gal and value your security, please do not live here! There are sketchy random man, who clearly do not live there, walking around the complex at all hours! Yes, they do come up to you and try to ask for money or stare you down while you get in your car! My boyfriends car got broken into, smashed window and all! When I called the leasing office to ask about cameras or having security walk the complex I was told that It happens a lot and we might know who it is WHAT!?!?! Parking is very limited and sometimes you will have to park far away from your building. The pool was never cleaned and the washer/dryers were always broken. When I put a maintenance request in, they could not come in to the apartment because THEY DIDNT HAVE A KEY TO MY PLACE! I asked Leslie to re-key the door since they didnt have a key to come in and she had the nerve to ask me to make a copy of my key and drop if off the leasing office! Yall I know the price is so low and they have made some upgrades to the inside of the apartments, but its not worth it, your safety and sanity are more important than saving a few bucks!
Mueller Flats has been a great starter apartment for my sister and I. Whenever weve has any sort of issue, the staff has been super quick to respond and fix it! Our account manager, Diana, is absolutely amazing. Shes attentive and is always patient when my sister and I have any sort of questions! Love her! Thanks Mueller Flats!
This place is GREAT!!☺️We have only lived here less than a month, and already we LOVE it.It’s homey, and super cozy.So much love and car in the staffing. Leslie is super fantastic.Even when i was having problems they were quick to be there to help get my husband and I into our apartment fast and easily!!Pup friendly, two BIG NICE pools, grills, dog stations everywhere, grassy areas, bunch of shade. I literally can’t say nothing bad about this place. I highly recommend this complex! I can see myself living here a few years, honestly!!
You get what you pay for. Actually, no. Pretty overpriced for what you get.The lack of communication is ridiculous. I have attempted to contact and reach out to them, with no response, however when it’s time for rent to be due I will receive so many phone calls and emails in order to make sure they get their money. They do not care about their residents. Constant water malfunctions causing residents to be without water for days, the longest for me being a few weeks without running water. There have been instances where we have been without electricity as well. The large trash bins have been overflowing with trash for so long.I will say that the first three months that I stayed here were good, however I’m not sure if they had a change in management or something that caused them to decline in customer service.
EDIT: Where do I start? This apartment complex has a terrible reputation and lives up to it. After winter storm Uri, their residents have been without water since 2/15/2021 and water still is not on. They have been cited by the City of Austin due to their lack of effort, lack of care, and for the repairs not being fixed in a reasonable amount of time. Several residents have reached out to the complex and havent heard back. I emailed them twice, once on 2/23/2021 and again on 2/27/2021, after giving them a week to respond and getting nothing back, I walked to the office and was told they would contact me - still havent heard anything. Their MANAGEMENT neglects their residents and their staff turn over rate is terrible. Cynthia (mentioned in my previous review) was an amazing new manager and was sent to replace the previous manager where she was thrown into her position with absolutely no guidance and handed an extensive amount of issues that the previous manager left and she had to suffer because of it. THE PREVIOUS MANAGER, Sean, was promoted to Regional Manager and now you have someone who doesnt care for or prioritize residents needs overseeing the apartment. YOU ARE NOT A RESIDENT, YOU ARE THEIR CUSTOMER AND ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY. Multiple residents are displaced due to the loss of water and extensive damage to their apartments and are still required to pay FULL RENT AND UTILITIES. Mueller Flats is a joke and even if youre desperate and looking for somewhere to go, DO NOT waste your time and money.ORIGINAL POST: Cynthia is AMAZING! New management has taken over and I am impressed to say the least. Cynthia has been extremely precise and timely with addressing and fixing all of my requests and questions. I have lived in Austin apartments for the last three years and there always has to be a bit of compromise when you were trying to look on a budget. The location is great and with your proximity to downtown.
The staff here is Great Speacially Ken and Sean and Rigo. They are friendly and always happy to help. They make move in a breeze.
Overall great location, great price, and alot of space in the apartment. Walk in closet for days! The old management really let things go but good thing the company caught on and fired everyone. There is a new management now from property manager all the way the cleaning lady! They have alot of things to clean up but they are already turning things around.
I was told to not move here and I didnt listen. The lack of customer service is mind boggling. The walls are extremely thin. EVERYTHING is heard. The front office is a joke. They will find a way to charge you for something. And dont get me started on the roaches on the compound.
This place now has many cases with Austin code department.
I moved here at the end of May. After having trouble finding a place, and talking to apartment complexes that were less than willing to help or guide me in anyway, as soon as I spoke to Diana on the phone I knew that everything was going to work out! She was amazing in the signing process and even more amazing afterward! Every little thing I had issues with she was there to help. She’s the best!
Dont even waste your time. The security is nonexistent and the staff doesnt pretend to care your vehicle got broken into. Again.
This place is awesome. Great location, beautiful apartments, the pool is great. I love living here! Diana in the office is incredible. She’s very sweet, accommodating and quick to respond to my needs
I haven’t moved in yet but Diana in the office made the showing and application process super easy! She even responded to emails late when I had questions. The apartment and gym look great and that’s what I was looking for. Can’t wait to move in in June! Thanks Diana
I have to say Sean here at Mueller really cares about the tenants. The people in the office are making a big change so glad to live at a place where the people who take care of it ACTUALLY CARE.
Would recommend to anyone looking for Ana apartment. Love it here!
Apartment hunting in Austin while you live in Dallas was a nightmare. When I called Breigh helped me from the very beginning. I absolutely hate talking on the phone but she made it painless! She has amazing customer service and has helped me every step of the way! Thank you so much for all your help!
Been here for a few months. The leasing office has been pretty responsive and Breigh has been amazing with her support through my various requests.Overall, good Central location and decent price for this area.
I’ve lived her for about 2 1/2 months now and the experience has been great. Diana in the front office helped me get in pretty quickly moving from my old apartment and helped with any questions/concerns I had. It’s a great location as I work downtown and the apartment itself is fantastic!
Couldn’t ask for a nicer place to live at such a wonderful price!!!
I have had nothing but a positive experience here on top of it being super affordable. This being the first apartment I’ve rented I was a little lost on what steps to take. The staff (Sean & Leslie) have made the whole transition incredibly painless while walking me through any steps I had questions or concerns with. Even after moving in they still continue to help me with any issue. Thank y’all so much 10/10 would rent again.
I renewed for another year. Leslie helps me every time! she goes above and beyond. great Manager and Property looks good.
I love living at Mueller Flats!!! Diana in the office was an amazing help with the move-in process, and has answered all of my questions since moving in! So excited to be here!
I want to thank Leslie for all she does. I Just renewed for another year! Everyone here is very helpful, kind, and caring.
Mueller Flats has made a huge improvement over the last two months with the new management. Issues I have been dealing will for months were resolved fast and in a professional manor.
While I havent lived here long I must say that Im very pleased thus far. Ive seen the groundskeeper out cleaning everyday and the property overall seems to be well kept. The leasing office staff are all very friendly and helpful and having relocated here from Illinois even went the extra mile to provide me with a list of nearby restaurants, shopping, and need to know places to make my transition easier. The move in special that I received at the time of my move in was exceptional but even without it the going rate for my apartment is well worth it. The apartment is very spacious and has been maintained well with up to date appliances. Its a very diverse community and everyone seems to be quite nice. The location is great! Its right by the highway which is surprising seeing how quiet the area is. There is a lot of nearby shopping and plenty of places to eat and recreate. The general area is comprised of a few surrounding complexes as well but again very quiet and peaceful. The gym and business center is never overcrowded and accessible just about the entire day. Downtown is only a few minutes up the highway as well as the University of Texas. Im looking forward to going to quite a few Longhorns games! Out of all the places I looked at to move to (including the help I got from Austin Craft Realty, shout out to Josh Giffin for the help) Im very glad that I chose this property. I feel it was a very sound decision and look forward to my living experience here.
Leslie is a great leasing manager. She does her best to help you as long as you tell her ahead of time. Shes always willing to work with you but as any REAL manager (boss) she sticks to the rules. So as long as you do your part she will work with you. Things defly couldve went sour for me but she did her best to give me information that I couldnt hear at the time but I did eventually. Im defly not the best tennet due to certain circumstances but Im grateful and blessed to have been given a chance here at a beautiful complex. Thank you all! Jennifer lol you witness my 1st and only panick attack ! Lol thank you for doing your job and also being honest!Looking at the 1 star reviews says alot...but the fact that someone responded to them says something. This is a very big complex with 4 ppl I know of working here...leslie anne jennifer and breigh. No where u live is going to be perfect esp if your not rich. But responding to the negative reviews says alot esp if they came through with what was replied. :) its all what you make it. ...remember you came in this world alone ...noone is obligated to cater to you. Do your part and I believe they will too. Ijs
The infamous Anne Wolfe always working...i dont believe i ever seen a day where she wasnt working and always have time to say hello. Very appreciative and grateful for her being in the complex.
Leslie took care of all of the financial aspects for me and was very efficient and professional, she even helped me set up my cable/internet! Diana handled all of the logistics and was my technical support. Her help was invaluable. I dont know much but I do know that girl can! Jennifer is my home improvement go to! She handled my work orders quickly (maintenance took care of same day) and since earned the nickname Home Depot. Breigh was very prompt answering any questions I had and helping with some additional items. Myles was at my apartment within the hour of me putting in my work order. He is very respectful, quick to assess the situation, came up with a solution and was back in 5 minutes to fix everything! Great start to my stay at Mueller Flats!
So far I am loving living here. Close to my campus, nice units, and the staff are great! Especially Diana!
I started out in a 1 bedroom which was super cute and affordable. Then I transferred to a 2 bedroom and I love the size of my apartment. Its always quiet and the staff in the office is always ready to help you with anything. I love the location of the apartments the most. I have not found a better value for your money than these apartments!
Living here has been great so far. Teri has been great at being in touch, and also dealing with issues I might have had. The maintenance is fast and has been great at solving my problems. Its also seemed very safe, and Im hoping the second dog park will be made soon! I recommend talking to Teri if you are interested because she is great!
I just moved in! The girls in the office are so nice and helpful. My experience so far has been GREAT!
My roommate and I moved out from Mueller Flats in June of 2018. It is now May 2020 and an issue with an unjust charge has STILL not been resolved. Mueller Flats unjustly charged us over $800 to paint our unit after move-out, when the walls were not impacted AT ALL by our stay. After stealing a remaining $100 of our deposit and selling the additional $700 to a credit collection agency, giving us multiple runarounds on an upcoming solution to the issue (was told in person and via e-mail that the charges and debt owed was incorrect and we would be refunded $100), I have a collection negatively impacting my credit report. After sharing this information with Sean Shannon, instead of being helped through the process I was given yet another run around, then hung up on after sharing my intended course of action by proceeding to legal action. I warn you all to be wary of the customer service routine they put on here because m beginning to feel its all fake. If youre not looking to deal with a back and forth between an apartment complex, their corporate office, and a debt collector, find somewhere with fewer strings attached to live.Dont get me started on the cockroaches!
This property is undergoing major upgrades, and I like it! The remodeled units are beautiful. The grounds and facilities have been redone, including the swimming pools and the laundry. I love that the laundry machines are high tech, with credit card readers and they even send you a text to let you know when your wash is done. Teri and Brandon have been super helpful and attentive during our application and apartment selection process. The property is secure and the gates to the complex are now properly functioning.
Ive been here more than a year now and love living here. Its very affordable and in the perfect location being in Centrsl Austin! I was sad to see Teri leave but the rest of the office staff is wonderful as well. Shawn is my go to guy! So thankful hes here! I would recommend living here to anyone.
I have lived at Mueller Flats since June. I had an issue with my move in cost and was pretty upset until I met Pam. She went over my lease and showed me the item I forgot about, my pet deposit. I was really embarrassed, but she said at least you didnt forget your pet when your moved - Did you? It made me laugh and that made me feel better. She is a very nice lady and because i have never lived away from home before, I was glad to know I can go ask her questions if I need to.also my apartment was really clean and smelt like candy.
I recently just moved in and I love my cozy place! It takes me no time to get downtown and for a good price! I was assisted by Breigh Lankford and she was so great! She made the process so easy and was such a joy to be around! She has helped me with any problems Ive had with the move in too. Move in was easier than expected!
This was my first time getting an apartment. I had no idea what I was doing but thanks to Leslie and Sean getting all set up was painless. After moving in they’ve be amazing even calling in to check on me!! 5 out of 5 would do again.
Austin rent is expensive, but you will not get your money’s worth here. In the beginning, the staff will be friendly and courteous. But whenever a problem arises, you’ll find they would be seldom helpful. You will have to go directly to the office for them to get anything done. A good month here is when you have running water and hot water. If you receive an email saying small repairs will take a few hours, then it most likely will be a week. The apartments suffer from roach infestation, treated by an ill-mannered exterminator. Different times you would hear about break-ins from neighbors apartments and management would not inform the residents of the dangers. If you Google the address of Mueller flats, you will see a lot of the police incidents that happen on the premises. So if you’re a female be cautious at night when you go to your car, or have your boyfriend accompany you as I do. Also, do not trust Sean Shannon he is the shadiest of all the staffers.
Staff in the office here is always amazing and they will always try to find a solution for your situation. You can also tell the property has been recently renovated to match the nearby area which is rapidly changing to one of the coolest areas in town.
Ive been a resident here for a full year and feel that is a sufficient timeframe to type up a review. I had the pleasure to have Terri and Sean in the leasing office help me out when I was looking for a apartment and she did a superb job assisting me in my move from out of state. The transition was seamless. Since then, Terri relocated, Sean is still helping future residents in the leasing office and the resident care center opened up with Kelley and Leslie handling the all of our resident needs.I havent had many issues with my residency here but when something comes up I know it will get resolved in a timely manner with Leslie and Kelley running the charge. All the staff members are all stars in my book and it has been a delight living in a wonderful community thus far!
Mueller Flats as a whole 2 stars, but individually Elise Bliss is great. Shes always on top of things for me any request Ive had even short notice she gets it done if not the same day definitely the following day, but usually same day. Ive been here 3 years with tons of complaints. Currently I cant complain, thank you Elise. She gets ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Sean is amazing!
AWESOME PLACE TO LIVE!!! THE WOMEN IN THE OFFICE ARE SO AWESOME AND HELPFUL!#TEAM WOMAN 👩
I recomend to everybody... Good managers Leslie always hears you out and fixes our issues if we have any... They keep it very clean and neat ! Move in today!! You will want to stay forever .. ....
Absolutely LOVE LOVE ❤️ this place it’s a great place to live the Leasing Manager Leslie is so helpful and very polite there is this Resident Coordinator name Jennifer she’s very respectful and polite I JUST LOVE HER and omg they actually have a Maitenance LADY she’s very helpful, SO POLITE and thorough I’ve never been more HAPPIER LIVING ANY WHERE ELSE JUST LOVE IT HERE!
I highly recommend this complex!Reasonably priced, simple yet stylish formica countertops, decent fixtures and flooring. Mine came with new paint and carpet to boot. Score! The apartments are a little cozy, but not like too cozy, you know? Every unit has a private patio and theres two nice pools. Close to I35, 290 and Target is practically in the backyard. Every interaction with Breigh or anyone else in the leasing office has been great. The staff has been nothing but knowledgeable and prompt with communication. My favorite amenity by far of this complex is that they have two off leash dog parks, and one of them is seriously huge, yall. A 1/3 acre, fenced in, tree shaded, empty and maintained lot thats usually unoccupied and a dog owners conveniently located DREAM.
This complex has made vast improvements in the two years Ive lived here.Breigh is always super helpful and friendly.
Mueller Flats is amazing! Leslie IS THE BEST! Diana and Breigh are so sweet!!
THIS PLACE DOESNT EVEN DESERVE A STAR...Ive been living with bugs in my apartment since I moved in 11 MONTHS AGO! They have come 7 times and to no avail.. BUGS (COCKROACHES) EVERYWHERE!!! We also got bed bugs from the apartment. Yeah, all of our NEW stuff got bed bugs. Also, there is rarely places to park. Unless you want to pay for a spot, you have to search and search for spaces. If you are lucky to find one, you have to inch in and if you are on the heavy side, good luck getting out of your vehicle.Neighborhood is ghetto... Have had a lot of issues with loud music past 10pm.Would have never moved here if I had known how ghetto this place was. Save yourself trouble and look elsewhere.
When this place was city point it was a lot better. A few months ago I had a neighbor move in upstairs with his band and they were loud and obnoxious every night! I mustve called the police on them at least 5 times a week. After complaining to the complex more times than I can count send nothing being done I gave up. Nothing was ever fixed. The third floor apartment started leaking from the maintenance workers trying to refurbish the apartment. It leaked boiling water all the way into my apartment on the bottom floor. They brought in carpet cleaners but forgot them there for over a week and half because apparently they lost the key too my apartment! There was also tons of water stains and a huge crack on my wall from the damage that they didnt come to repair. Then informed me my rent would increase from $700 to over $1000!! How ridiculous Is that?!a thousand too live in an apartment I cant sleep in with a huge crack in the wall?! Never had a problem like that with previous management. Dont fall for the pretty pictures its not worth it at all.
Sean, the leasing agent at Mueller Flats, was incredible! He went the distance to try to meet the requirements I had for an apartment - Truly a great service minded Soul! Very thorough and very informative, too.
I have been a resident here for about 27 months. DO NOT MOVE HERE. They will screw you on your rent. I have called that office dozens of times & all anyone can say is Leslie is not in after putting me on hold to tell her that I was calling again. I have sent several emails to here in regards to her telling me a bold face LIE that my rent would be a certain amount. She went so far as to respond to one email that said that she was out for 2weeks when clearly that was a lie...when the person on the phone either said that she was busy with a customer or put me hold tell her it was me & said can she call me back. THAT NEVER HAPPENED!!!! She told me that email my rent had went up...no S*** like she had never spoken to me about a different amount in her office, on her calculator & computer. As a matter of fact had me log into my rental portal at her desk. This lady advised me to go ahead & sign my lease & once they make the adjustments my rent will be around the same as the current amount was. We even discussed the amount I pay in utilities every month thru them & add that amount to the rent. I signed my lease now I pay over $1k & cant afford it. They will not return my calls or respond back to my emails. I have never been late on my rent since I moved her in FEB of 2017 NOW since I signed my lease in FEB 2019 I am getting late notice because I cant pay the rent. This is not FAIR AT ALL!!!!! I told her that I was willing to move to find something cheaper(2months before my previous lease was up) but she insisted that she would help me. ALERT ALERT DO NOT MOVE HERE, THEY TALK GOOD GAME TO REEL YOU IN & WILL SCREW YOU IN THE END & ACT LIKE NOTHING EVER HAPPENED OR THEY NEVER SPOKE TO YOU!!!!! I am still dealing with this matter 03/23/2019
UPDATE: I am updating this review as circumstances have greatly changed since I first arrived here. It no longer applies now.UPDATE2: The manager who replied to me is also not the same manager who is here currently. This year they had a staff flip, and the only one I still recognize is Sean. Staff are changing constantly. Anyone who might care about you has no ability to help you, and will constantly refer you back to Leslie, who generally doesn’t care. She knows the right thing to say, but no action is taken typically. While I recommend you get things in email/writing, you will have to go to the office in person to get anything done.Maintenance requests use to get addressed in one or two days. Now it takes a week most of the time, if they get back to you at all. Again while I still recommend writing, you will have to go to the office to get things done. One time they didn’t get back to me for two months of calling and emails. It didn’t get resolved until I went to the office in person. And the leasing office, by the way. The resident care center basically never has anyone staffing it. It takes me weeks to get packages because they’re hardly ever there during posted hours. The complex is LOUD and the tenants leave trash everywhere. Many people just aren’t considerate of anyone around them.I have a neighbor who is erratic and then management tells me they can’t do anything and to call the police, who then tell me they can’t do anything because that’s what management needs to enforce. My car was broken into. Management again will say they did something and then do nothing. Found the gate was propped open that day, probably for future residents.I used to like this place. This new round of staff just doesn’t care. I’m scared for my safety. You can find apartments for the same price that actually have a courtesy number and give you an option to pick up your mail that works with normal people working hours.I have lived here for about two years. The first year I would have given it a five star rating, but now I recommend nobody live here.
Mueller flats are a great place to stay. The staff is friendly and very understand and the price and location for a two bedroom apartment is amazing. If you are looking for a place to stay, go talk to Hannah, Sean or Mrs Pam they will take great care of you .
Great place to live, the staff is amazing and always concerned about your problems. Big shout out to Breigh for always helping me.
