There are many pros and cons about this place.Pros: location, location, location. Of all the years I’ve lived in Austin this is my favorite location to be in.The team here does a great job with keeping tenants updated and the community clean.Cons: we had to tour virtually due to covid and our only concern when picking a place was the floors/ walls. We were told that they never really get noise complaints. To find our downstairs neighbor complains about us walking thru our apartment + a little one who runs around because that’s what kids do. Not only that but we recently got new neighbors above us and sounds like they have kids too because they’re always running around. I try not to complain about them because I get it kids will be kids.
We chose the Marq Uptown because it is a short walk to UT Austin and the building and amenities are truly excellent. It is a bit more expensive but totally worth it. The property is well-managed property in terms of safety and convenience. During the snow storm this past winter, the management did their best to keep us safe and communicated with us regularly to help us get through the storm. The on-site staff (Kirsten, Jay and Alex) are excellent! A special shout out to them for being so helpful and a special thanks to Kirsten for her knowledge, professionalism and promptness in everything she does!
The staff at the Marq are some of the most helpful when it comes to property management. When it comes to the complex and the amenities, you won’t be disappointed. I would highly recommend giving them a look when planning your next move!
The maintenance staff in this building are absolutely fantastic. I have lived in several other places in the general area and this one definitely has the best maintenance team. Mario and his team fulfilled all my maintenance requests in a timely manner and I could not be more happy.
Fun living, great amenities, fast service requests, and a great location!
Emersson did an excellent job with our service request, and the front desk was super receptive to the urgency of our request. Emersson deserves a raise! Great place to live!
Ive been living here for two weeks so far and everything is great! The leasing office is helpful and nice than any other apartments Ive ever lived before. They literally help you with anything and any request (even switched a new refrigerator for me). Many great amenities which I hope to enjoy soon after this pandemic. Building is luxury and beautiful too. I extremely love the large open kitchen, the island, and the in-unit huge washer and dryer. Pool is large, beautiful, and very comfortable to dive in. Overall a great apartment and would recommend to everyone! Hope this review helps! PS. Shout out to Caden, Jaleel, and the maintenance Santa!
This is by far the best apartment complex Ive ever lived at. The location is great for getting downtown or heading North. The lounge at the top of the building overlooks Downtown and it is so beautiful to just sit up there at sunset or night. The front office staff are seriously so friendly, efficient and care about making your experience here as easy and safe as possible. I only moved in about a month before COVID took full effect and Marq Uptown was quick to implement safety precautions against the virus. Once a few things began to reopen with limited hours they sanitized all the time and took lots of extra steps to discourage the spread. Im looking forward to getting to use all the amenities now that restrictions are slowly starting to lift and I feel confident that they will still be diligent in maintaining a safe environment.
I’ve been living at MARQ Uptown for about 9 months now. I chose it for a number of reasons, some of which are: location in relation to work, fairly recent construction, clean lines, tall ceilings, and seemed pretty secure. During my time living here those have all continued being assets. Overall the amenities are really lovely and the rooftop deck has become a favorite place to hang out and watch the sun set or a storm roll in on the horizon. The leasing office is very accommodating and communicates in a timely fashion when there are concerns or issues with the building. It was particularly noticeable during Winter Storm Uri (Feb 2021). They communicated pretty close to daily even if it was just to say there was no change. During that stressful week it was such a relief to know they were on it. I have friends whose leasing offices didn’t communicate for 3-4 days. The office and maintenance staff went above and beyond to try to keep everyone in the loop. I was very impressed. There is some general noise from nearby sources like the highway, construction from a closeby building, and the medical transport helicopters. My apartment doesn’t face the highway though so that one doesn’t really bother me. The others just seem like city noises to me.The true test for me is knowing what I know now would I still have chosen to live here? And the answer is yes. MARQ Uptown has exceeded my expectations.
Marq Uptown is the best apartment I have ever lived!! I highly recommend this place. The building is clean and management team is always trying their best.
This is a great location with a staff that truly cares about the individuals living in the building. When the we had the snow experience, the staff was available 24 hours a day transporting water, sending updates, and taking care of resident needs. Its been great living here!
I dont normally write reviews but I received such exceptional help, especially given my situation, that I thought its the least I could do. Upon inquiring about a bedroom at Marq Uptown, both Alex and Jay were both helpful and knowledgeable with all my concerns. I had a bad experience about 8 years ago with an apartment complex and this time I wanted to make sure I had all the information in regards to the lease, however, I never once felt like I was pressured to get an apartment with them, even after I was approved. Unfortunately, my father had back surgery and all my plans ended up changing to where I wasnt going to be able to get the apartment there, however, even after 1 week before my move-in date, I explained my situation (I didnt sign the lease just yet) and everyone at the leasing office was very understanding and concerned for my father and my own well being. Ive never received such S+ quality service from an apartment complex like I did at Marq Uptown. Even though I am not a resident, I highly recommend anyone to this complex because I know you will feel totally comfortable and safe. Youll be able to review things before signing and ask as many questions as possible, and they wont get frustrated or anything. It was truly a remarkable experience and I wish my circumstances were different but once things return relatively back to normal, I will definitely be reaching out again and seeing what is available then!
This is one of the prettiest, most well-managed apartment complexes in Austin! Alex in the front office is always willing to go the extra mile to help you out. He is one of the best assets of this community! Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for luxury living and a welcoming community.
Emersson did a great job fixing our sink leak! He was in and out in 30 minutes.
On top of the great finishing of the units, fantastic amenities, and amazing location with great proximity to campus. The staff in Uptown is truly remarkable. Thank you to Alex, Jaleel, and Taylor for being such amazing help and making the whole process stress free.
I recently moved to Marq Uptown and have loved every minute! I was worried about this process during the COVID 19 Pandemic, but was reassured and helped every step of the way from the amazing Jaleel in the front office. He was willing to answer all of our questions and even give us multiple options in apartments that we were looking at. Despite being close to the highway, the building is quiet and peaceful and is almost like staying in a hotel! It’s also super close to HEB, which is so convenient for grocery shopping! I love the amenities and especially the cleanliness during this time of COVID. I would absolutely recommend this place to live because of my amazing experience! :)
My boyfriend and I have loved our time at Marq Uptown. We moved from out of state, and Jaleel in the front office was amazing at calming all our nerves and answering all our questions before we moved here. Its a quiet and private building, while still offering tons of activities and amenities, even during COVID. The front office staff is amazing, they answer the phone whenever the office is open and respond to emails so quickly. We havent had any maintenance problems except for the AC being broken the day we moved in (mid-August -- not fun), but it was resolved quickly. No bugs, no noise complaints. The only thing I would mention is that its hard to track down your packages when theyre delivered -- theres a mail room and a package room, and every now and then a package ends up at our apartment door or at the front office, which can be confusing. Overall, its been a great experience and I would definitely recommend.
I cant recommend Marq Uptown enough. My fiancee and I lived here while in grad school and we had a fantastic experience. The amenities are great, the location is convenient, and the price is competitive. But the staff are really the stars of the show. Theyre very attentive and make sure youre taken care of. Special shoutout to Jaleel who helped us with everything!
Love the staff, location and amenities! Highly recommend! Dog friendly, and maintenance responds to issues super quick!
I genuinely loved living at this apartment complex. I regrettably moved to be closer to my new job. Jay and Taylor are extraordinarily helpful, super happy, and the most friendly leasing office staff I have ever experienced! Their professionalism is unparalleled and they made my experience here most excellent. The maintenance team is also great and very prompt with all repairs. I frequently utilized all of the community spaces as they were well maintained, very clean, and provided a nice atmosphere to study or get work done. I would 10/10 recommend living here!
Ive been living here since May 2019 and I LOVE this place! The prices are reasonable for what you get and the leasing office staff is THE BEST. They organize the coolest and most original events with free food and drinks for the residents. I dont have a single complaint against the building. The leasing office people are the kindest and funniest people around, and the facilities are truly top notch! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a luxury apt near UT campus/downtown.
Ive been at Marq Uptown for about 2 months and love living here. The apartment architecture is well thought out to maximize space and storage. The ceilings are high, giving a spacious feel. The living rooms and bed rooms have large windows bringing in lots of fresh light. The kitchen, bathroom, appliances, and flooring, etc are great and are all top notch - this place doesnt cut corners. In the past, Ive lived in luxury apartments that had nice views, but cut costs where ever they could by putting in cheap sinks or old appliances. This place is different! The pool is great and rarely too crowded. The gym is one of the best apartment complex gym Ive seen. The quiet hours are respected by everyone, even though theres lots of young professionals and graduate students here. Finally, the leasing office staff is great - ensuring the move in process was easy, always there to answer questions, and keeping promises. As someone who works from home (and thus spends tons of time here), I couldnt be happier.EDIT: After almost a year here, I want to re-iterate how great the community is, especially the team at the leasing office! They know and care about everyone here. Thank you!!
I moved in 4 days ago, and during my first night, my washing machine leaked and flooded my kitchen and living room floors. I called emergency maintenance, and Roger came all the way from Round Rock, arrived at 10:45 pm, mopped up all the water, and fixed my washing machine. He even came back the next morning to check to see if it was still working properly. I have had a few other maintenance issues since then, and Roger has been so prompt and efficient with all of them. I am so glad he is here to support us as residents when things go wrong.
The staff and service at the Marq Uptown are amazing! My heater broke and maintenance was able to get it fixed just in time for the cold weather. Everyone here is warm and welcoming, which makes it a great place to live!
The staff here is doing a great job. The front-desk staff is always friendly and professional, and the old maintenance guy knows his stuff (plus he looks like santa :)
Such a beautiful property, I loved it! Everyone in the office was so friendly and helpful. Really made me feel like i could be at home here.
For clarification, I havent move in yet but I just submitted my application and felt the need to give an excellent review to Taylor and Jaleel for helping me out! I had sooo many questions and they were very very patient with me and attentive to all my questions. Some other places that I talked to were either very rude or took forever to reply me... so I really appreciate Marq Uptowns staff for being so nice. Heard so many good things about this apartment and Im very excited to move in this June!
It’s at a great location with great amenities and a very attentive staff. The rooms themselves are so nice and the staff have made my stay here wonderful. While there were a couple things that were missed when the room was cleaned before my move-in, it ended up being a fluke from the cleaning crew that did it (who aren’t used by Marq Uptown anymore) and they were quick to remedy it. For that, I think they have to be one of if not the best apartment complexes in Austin. Jaleel and everyone else there are awesome. I would recommend them to anyone!
Living at Marq Uptown is an absolute pleasure! The amenities are great, the staff is always incredibly helpful and the building is well kept - very clean. I have lived here for almost two years and havent had any complaints. Its also a convenient location; central to many great restaurants and activities.Definitely recommend living here!
Management at Marq Uptown is the best. They are always on top of requests and keeping residents in the loop. They are also very friendly, warm, and welcoming - which makes this place all the better !!
Amazing place to live - perfect location and superb amenities. The leasing office is terrific - friendly, helpful, and efficient. We love it here!
I moved here in November of 2018 and let me just say that I was impressed from opening the door! The staff here at Marq Uptown was more then accommodating to our needs in helping us to meet our financial needs. Jaleel Johnson and Taylor Martin are some of the best in the industry. CWS Properties is beyond lucky to have a staff at this property that will meet your personal and financial needs. I will recommend this property to anyone I speak too!!
You seriously cant find a better place to live! Marq Uptown is the best place to live in all of Austin and their front office team is second to none. Unbelievable customer service day in and day out. Dont think twice. Sign a lease here.
My wife and I LOVED living here over the last year. The apartment was incredible, absolutely zero complaints. Staff was great, amenities were incredible. Im not convinced we had neighbors (I saw them in the hall, but never heard them through the walls), loved the balcony view from the south side of the building. Such convenience to UT Austin and many other places around.I35 can get a little noisy and St. Davids helicopters, but my wife works nights and she sleeps through it in the day, so genuinely its fine. We would LOVE to live here again, which leads my to my reason for 4 stars. Austin is exploding, rent is skyrocketing, and thats very true for Marq Uptown. Our resign price was over 11% of our current rent.
Marq Uptown isnt a bad place to stay. Overall, I liked it. I never had a problem with the office and think theyre really nice and accommodating people. The building was poorly built tho. Unless you live on the top floor, you will hear literally EVERYTHING going on in the apartments around you. It’s why I moved.
I love this apartment building! The office staff - the office staff is amazing. They are always helpful and very responsive to any question asked. They know us by name and made us feel welcome from the first day we moved in. Jaleel and Taylor are normally who I interact with and they are both awesome. The maintenance staff is just incredible. Mario, Roger and Aurellia do a wonderful job of keep the facility clean and in excellent condition. They are so hard working. I pass them multiple times a day cleaning something inside/outside the building. A couple days ago I saw them hand wiping all the pool furniture with clorox wipes even when it was too cold for anyone to be at the pool that day. We have had very few repairs but they were handled very fast and very professionally. Cant say enough nice things about the maintenance crew! Everything is always is working order. The parking - the parking garage is very well lit, has very high ceilings and I can always find parking. It has a secure entrance and I feel very safe no matter what time of day.The building - I find the apartment building very quiet. Cant really hear the neighbors. Not much noise in the halls. The facilities are very nice and the office staff is always finding ways to engage to residents. There are multiple elevators so you really never wait and there are only 5 floors so it is easy to use the stairs if you want.
Weve lived in Uptown Apartments for 2+ years now (moved here September 2016) and during that time weve experienced two changes of management. I can say without a doubt that Marq CWS is my favorite. The staff is attentive, friendly, and helpful. Service is fast - recently our repair requests would be fulfilled in one day, two at most. I also appreciate that they organize fun events (would totally attend more if I had the time), offer free weekly gym classes (Im a huge fan of these!), and accommodate for residents schedules by extending their office hours.I have a few complaints, but these stem from other residents. In the summer, there are occasionally fruit fly infestations. No matter how clean we keep our unit they still appear, which suggests the flies are entering through the A/C system from another residence. Regrettably, some residents dont pick up after their pets and some others clog up the trash chutes by not following guidelines or pile up their garbage in the trash rooms. Also, the surprisingly frequent fire alarm is pretty annoying. Despite that, the management staff is happy to listen to complaints and tries their best to fix things up.While the rent may be slightly on the higher side for apartments in this area, Id totally recommend Marq Uptown. I hope the apartment will continue to be run by Marq CWS in the future!I would rate the overall experience as 4 stars, but I think its unreasonable to blame management for the fault of ones neighbors so Im giving Marq Uptown 5 stars for their effort.
Loved the place from my first visit. The pool is great. Bike racks. Storage on-site. Gated parking. Excellent maintenance.
These apartments have a bed bug problem. This is likely due to the fact that, while they advertise as upscale apartments, they also advertise their apartments through air b&b. They don’t disclose this to you before (or even after) signing the lease. The apartment management acts nice, but they lied to my face on multiple occasions, even when I asked them about them about the air b&b practices. Additionally, the maid service used to clean up after the air b&b guests, disclosed to me that they have a bed bug issue, so this was not an isolated incident
Nice location. The area smelt good, wait is smelt a word.😂Jenny was nice that day 😉
I have been to many apartments before and Marq Uptown staff (Jaleel and Kristen) are by far the nicest, and most helpful. Amenities are always clean and my maintenance requests have been addressed within a reasonable time frame.
I would have given a slightly lower review but Jaleel Johnson in the leasing office was just that good. When we were moving in a new managing company was just taking them over and had gotten our papers lost. Jaleel got it sorted out. When we were trying to move in we were told Sunday would be fine, but with the new company they said it wasnt. Jaleel took time on his day off to get us our keys. One month our electronic payment didnt go through and so we had to do a cashiers check. Well they added more late fees on top of the late fees that were already there and so our cashiers check was short. We tried to do a money order three times, but the office wasnt inputting it incorrectly so we couldnt do the order, and they wouldnt let us pay in any other way. After talking to three different people, just trying to pay the rent (after 2 years of paying on time and never having any problems), I was finally able to talk to Jaleel and he had the problem solved in under 20 minutes after Id spent HOURS with the other 3.Other than that it is a really nice complex, nice pool, grills, exercise room, and maintenance orders are all taken care of within hours. Honestly, if I got the customer service that Jaleel gave from everyone, then I dont think I could think of one reason not to live here.
I have been working with Jaleel to lease an apartment and have never had such a great experience. He is happy, kind, helpful, informative and so much more. He worked extra hard to handle some difficult situations and has resolved my apartment hunt with a HUGE success. I would highly recommend working with him for any apartment assistance you may need. GO Jaleel!!
A friend moved in here and loves it. Great amenities. The pool is like a resort.
Apartments are the best ever..!!! So high class, love the gym and love the pool, also love getting my hot chocolate every morning in the 2nd floor.
Good apartment close to campus in central austin.- everything in austin is 15 minutes away from here which is great.- the surrounding neighborhood was nice and peaceful- Jaleel and the others in the leasing office were always wonderful. Honestly wonder if Ill have such reliability from the leasing office in my future apartments.- being woken up due to fire alarms early in the morning occurred more than I liked
This is a legit place to stay and not bad of a price for it. Definitely recommend staying here
This apartment is amazing. Everything here is absolutely new!
This place has great potential. The apartments are nice but for the money, the amenities dont match. Having lived here for a month, I have come to the conclusion that I would not rent here, however, if a few easy changes were made, I would change my mind.First, the staffs hours. Compared to other luxury apartment complexes, the staff here have the worst hours (10-6 weekdays, 10-5 Saturday, closed sunday vs the other apartment complexes 9-7 and sunday hours). This wouldnt be an issue if their sole purpose was putting people in the place, but its not. If you have a package that comes in, you have to get it from them (saying it wasnt lost). So unless you dont work or start later than 10 and get off well before 6 (they leave promptly at 6), dont plan on getting packages until saturday. Makes Amazon Prime not as appealing. This could easily be fixed by installing a Package Concierge which would allow you the ability to get your package 24/7, and completely removes the management from the equation (much like other complexes have). If not, then they need to adjust their hours because they cant be relied upon to bring important packages to your apartment. Also, if you have medical anything sent to you, this is a bad combination.Second, is the security of the building. When I first moved in, I mentioned that the door leading to the second floor just opens on its own, and that the elevator doesnt require a key fob to get to the same floor. Ive heard theyre working on it since then. Additionally, about 25 of 30 days Ive been here, the garage has been broken and left constantly open.Third, cleanliness of the grounds. I have a great view from my patio that consists of cigarette butts and broken glass. Been that way since I moved in.For the money that these apartments cost, as well as the location (which requires a drive to get to any place to eat or drink), I cant justify recommending renting here until they fix the issues. They also appear unable to keep management companies as theyve already changed again since I moved in. If they were to make it more secure, provide better support/amenities for tenants with receiving goods, and clean the grounds, I could recommend this place as long as your requirement isnt to be walking distance to entertainment.
We have lived in the building pretty much since it opened, and have been through 3 management companies (Greystar, Lincoln, and now CWS). The first two companies were, to say, an experience, while the current company is doing a much better job.The building itself is nice, but you get the general feel the construction was rushed. The concrete in the stairwells is loose in the metal fittings, creating creaking and dull thuds as you walk up and down. All the carpet in our apartment had to be redone after we moved in because they had used the wrong tacks to put it in place, and the wood laminate used in the flooring in some places had noticeable bubbling where it had come loose. Our shower had to be re grouted and sealed twice within the first 3 months of living here. Its worth noting these were early problems before the current management company took over the property. The location of the property is nice if youre looking for easy access to campus, downtown, or to get on the freeway and go anywhere you want. Local dining in the area is plentiful, and the location itself of the building means you can catch and uber/ride austin and be anywhere in minutes for next to nothing.Sadly the close access to the freeway means that if you live on a side of the building close to the freeway, youre going to be listening to the freeway...alot. It never stops. For us, it wasnt that big of a deal (we used to live next to OHare in Chicago, trust me, jets are louder) and after a bit just turns into white noise. There is also a major hospital just south of the property, and helicopters coming in and out sometimes can be a little loud.As per most apartment buildings, yes the walls are thin, and yes you will hear your neighbors near constantly if they live any life other than a church mouse. But this is just a fact of life living in this type of building. Some people say the college students living there are loud, but in all honesty, you rarely if ever heard them where we lived. Maybe some brief chit chat as theyd walk by headed out for a night on the town.In regards to the renting out rooms as a hotel via AirBnB and other such services. For a while it was very common to see people who were obviously using parts of the property as a hotel. There were some weeks where I would be asked do you know the wifi for the hotel while waiting for the elevator. As far as I can tell, this process has been stopped, which is a good thing. All and all, its a decent property. The current management company is definitely improving over the previous, and they treat the tenants very well. The package service is near perfect, maintenance is helpful, polite and quick, and the staff in the office are professional and pleasant.
Great location, pretty new building with good amenities.
Nice place great mgmt company.
Nice apartments!!
Location and view
Clean & chill
Incredible apartment property, limited access, lots of parking spaces, incredibly spacious apartments, laundry included in each one, elevators, luxury cleaning
