This is a great place to live! So close to many things, you have many parks, people is nice! But the most important thing to highlight is the communication from Lease office! They are always sending emails with updates of everything that is happening in the complex and they are always on top of everything! The maintenance team is also very fast! I highly recommend living here! The apartments are in excellent quality, brand new and the building is always clean! We love our experience here so far!
My wife and I have loved our experience at AMLI on Aldrich. The front office team is super friendly and very quick to assist with any issues. The complex is very clean and the amenities are top notch. There is a lot of new businesses opening up around the community and a farmers market every Sunday right down the block. I would highly recommend AMLI on Aldrich for anyone looking to move to the Austin area.
WARNING: Do not move here unless you can tolerate a 25% rent increase in any given year. That’s what’s happened to me in my time at this complex. And when you reach out to discuss they’ll tell you it’s nonnegotiable so don’t bother. For what it’s worth there hasn’t been a single improvement made to the property in my time here, so the rent increase is solely price gauging. To make this rent hike even more egregious, I just received a note on my door noting that loud construction is going to be starting this fall, from 9am-6pm. Most people that live in this building work from home. Were going to be dealing with all day construction while we attempt to work from our living rooms, for an additional $400 per month? And on top of the noise were being told our windows will be blocked by scaffolding and our balconies will be unusable for an indefinite period of time? For an additional $400 per month? I saw the construction done at Amli Mueller, there was scaffolding in front of some units for nearly a full year. How can you claim to care about your residents when you are planning to charge them 25% more for a year of inconvenient noise, lack of light and lack of access to their own units balconies?Best of luck to everyone in Austin if this is how things are going.
AMLI on Aldrich is the best apartment that I have ever lived in! The location is perfect - we regularly walk to HEB and to the Farmers Market. I also love the apartment itself - the finishes (especially in the bathroom) feel very high end.
My Fiancee and I generally enjoyed our stay during our time at AMLI. The staff was always friendly and went out of their way to provide the best experience during the height of the pandemic. The apartment itself was nice and surprisingly soundproof, even with neighbors listening to loud music or watching TV with the volume up. (you wouldnt notice until you left and were in the hallway)With that said there were several issues that I feel need to be addressed. As someone previously mentioned, there were several break ins in the garage (Two cars were even left on blocks and had their tires stolen). The bike room was also broken into. (also located in the garage.)Early on there was construction done on our patio which, I do understand things happen, however the work was never completed. Which with the disruption and noise should have at least been finished. The office also neglected to keep us up to date on the construction, and we never knew if/when the construction was to be complete. As of our move out, the construction was never completed and our balcony looked terrible.Lastly upon move out we hired a cleaning company that they advertised to do a deep clean of the apartment (they did a stellar job) however they still withheld a portion of our deposit ($300) claiming that there was pet damage to the carpet. (See attached) We have one dog and she spent the majority of her time in the living room which was not carpeted. The bedroom carpet probably looked better than it did at move in after the deep clean. Keep this in mind and do not expect your pet deposit back if you move in with a pet.
Horrible resident support. I worked with a woman named Elizabeth on a payment that was recorded as late. All of the bills I have are setup on autopay, and as a new resident I had not yet had a chance to do so. For the bills that I have that are not on autopay, I at the very least receive a notification email of when rent is due. On July 6th, I received a notification that my rent was late and I owed a $110 late charge, on top of my extraordinarily high rent. I explained the situation to Elizabeth, and she refused to waive the late fee, even though this was after the 4th of July holiday weekend. In the time of Covid, unemployment, and financial pinches at an all time high, the audacity it takes for a rental company to refuse waiving a 2 day late fee to a new resident is unacceptable. I submitted my notice the same day.
Moving into the Amli was super easy and the team was so helpful. Taryn prepared us with all the info we needed and everyone has been super helpful and nice. Would 10/10 recommend living at the Amli, not just for the amenities and location, but for the chill vibes and sense of community.
I lived in AMLI on Aldrich for 1yr and 3months.Pros-Nice office staff.-Great location! You’re close to HEB, nice walkable neighborhoods and several parks.-Decent apartment size with large closets. Lots of natural light.-Maintenance responds to issues in a timely manner.-The overall cleanliness of the complex is wonderful.-Though I could hear my neighbors, the walls didnt seem super thin (I lived on the top floor, so lower levels might disagree).-Updates/emails from the Management. They were always very transparent with the residence about issues and/or future maintenance.Cons-Multiple instances of theft and break-ins. Bike room was broken into and bikes were stolen, parcel room was broken into and packages were stolen, residents personal storage spaces were broken into, car garage was snuck into and residents tires were stolen, and a residents car was even stolen once. Im not sure if this happened at other apartments that I lived in and then they just didnt warn the residents, but this was/is an ongoing issue with AMLI. After multiple garage break-ins they hired more security to watch who is going in and out of the garage. But I never saw them do anything except stand across the street when I was there. Not sure why they wont just install security cameras in the garage and hallways.-Lots of construction. Though I enjoyed the area and listed it as a Pro, it should be noted that you will hear construction and be walking through construction sites (including construction on the AMLI itself). In retrospect I probably should have been more careful not to breath in all the dust particles.- On that same note, AMLI gave us notice that they would be doing construction to the building and that wed need to pull all our stuff from balcony (and the storage room on the balcony) into our apartment while they did several weeks worth of construction. Living in disarray plus the sound of construction right outside my apartment door was not going to work for me, especially at a time where the majority of people are working from home. I’m not sure how the residents are handling this now, I’d find it near impossible to work from home in those conditions, not to mention if you have kids or noise sensitive pets. No discount was offered to make up for the inconvenience.-The doors to the buildings are magnetic and slam shut. If you happen to move into a unit near a stairwell or garage, you will hear constant slams from people going in and out.-Very limited access to the amenities from March 2020 – March 2021. Which I understand why since we are living through Covid-19, however if theres restricted access to gym, pool, grills, etc. then our rent should reflect that.-Security deposits. We are currently trying to speak with someone about why they kept $500 of our pet deposit to replace the carpet (they claimed pet damage). To paint a better picture, we only had carpet in the 2 bedrooms; and in both rooms we had beds, rugs and large furniture (so the majority of the carpet was covered). Also, we never witnessed our dog have an accident, scratch, or ever really just laid on the carpet in the bedrooms, she liked to lay on the laminate because its cooler. In conclusion, I enjoyed living at AMLI however due to the lack of security, inconvenient construction, and no ability to enjoy the amenities that you pay for, moving out was the best option.UPDATERobert from AMLI Management got in touch with us after I left this review; He was very friendly and professional. After going through the carpet history and cleaning reports from the previous tenants, it was concluded that the damage may have been pre-existing. They agreed to not charge us for the carpet replacement. Overall, we’re very pleased we were given the opportunity to share our thoughts and concerns. Ive updated the rating to 4 stars thanks to the friendly interaction.
I love living here! I moved here in September of 2019, so I like to think my review holds weight, so to speak, especially since I’ve lived here through a once-in-a-century pandemic, and, more recently, a weather catastrophe perhaps the like of which Texans have never seen. All that to say that the amazing AMLI team has so clearly earned my five-star review and my glowing words! (And my deep gratitude!)There are so many things I love about AMLI on Aldrich …. location is simply fantastic (so many cool places I can walk to); unit is beautiful and modern and airy and bright; common spaces are clean and well-cared for; amenities are awesome (best pool and gym I’ve had in any apartment complex, for instance); maintenance staff are made up of super-heroes — really — keeping this huge place running so beautifully and responding so quickly to issues (I don’t know how they do it!). It’s nice and quiet here, my husband and I both feel so comfortable and relaxed living here, and we intend to stay until we buy a place of our own (though with the way the Austin housing market is looking, who knows if buying will be an option ever …. and if we can’t buy, we’re very happy to stay here indefinitely). As you can tell by the fact that I’ve lived here for 1.5 years and am just now leaving a review, I am a very lazy reviewer (and/or a procrastinator). So what really lit a fire under me to leave a review now is how taken care of I felt during the scary winter weather catastrophe we recently endured.I got really worried when the water went out, and what kept me sane and calm? The recurring, thorough updates from the management to the residents (there were multiple updates many days). Even when they didn’t have news to report (because the city didn’t know when things would be restored), they let us know what they knew, and the tenor and regularity of those high-quality and thoughtfully written updates kept me grounded and lowered my blood pressure immensely. I felt less alone and less frightened, and the notes were a bit of normalcy that I began to count on and look forward to. The honest, open, level-headed way they kept residents informed was a key part of me getting through that crazy week with my wits intact. I was really scared at certain points, and that regular, thoughtful communication was like a life preserver for me. Seriously. No hyperbole. In the very best of times, the job of apartment management is a really really hard one (dealing with so many members of the public has to be immensely stressful to start with, but even more so when it’s about where people live… for some reason, I think some people want things to be perfect when they’re at home, but I can’t for the life of me identify one aspect of life that’s perfect… I don’t believe “perfection” exists). But during a once-in-a-century pandemic and then, as if that wasn’t enough, a natural catastrophe like the state has never seen.... well, I can only imagine that the staff’s job is beyond-words difficult. I am in awe of how well they do their jobs (employing skill and knowledge and commitment and follow-through), and also how warmly and responsively and pleasantly, even as I imagine some impossible-to-please people expecting perfection siphon off so much energy. So, like I said, there is so much I already loved about the physical space and the location to start with (and I love it more every day, it seems!). But what really makes my socks roll up and down, and what will get me to stay here long long long term is the rockstar team that manages this complex. Big kudos and big thanks to you all!!
I have lived in many apartments over the years, in different cities and even a couple of countries. The worst place by far was AMLI. I have lived in places that didnt look as nice as AMLI, but it was the horrible way I was treated by this company which made it a miserable experience. AMLI touted how they would fix anything that broke very quickly. After rain damaged my ceiling, I sent them a couple of messages requesting it be fixed and that they could come anytime during the week I would be out of town. I got back and nothing had been fixed. They never fixed the water damage the entire time I lived there. Also, they offered reasonable rates for the contact, but then after the contact ended the jacked up my rent by about 40%! That was more than my rent in NYC. They kept trying to extort me into signing another year lease for reasonable rent. I moved instead. Do not trust AMLI. Worst apartment ever.
They have changed all the terms of the living situation sense we have been there because in the contract it states you o Ly pay for your room the rest of the area is free ad can be taken away at any time. They will not let us leave early without penalty even though they have changed everything we liked about it during our walk through. Don’t trust their marketing this place is a trap!
The maintenance staff was prompt and courteous with my simple issues. Great customer service. Very friendly and clean place to live.
AMLI on Aldrich is our favorite apartment community we have ever lived in. Beautiful apartments, great location and excellent management and leasing team. This place goes above and beyond with little details (e.g. soft close cabinets and drawers, quartzite counters, stainless steel appliances, high-quality solar shades, high ceilings, large undermount kitchen sink) that make living here more enjoyable. This place is also LEED Platinum certified and is conscious of building materials and the environment. For example, they use low VOC (less toxic) paints and flooring to improve the air quality and living environment for tenants.Location in Mueller is super convenient. Roughly 10 minute drive to downtown Austin and 5 minute walk to HEB, Torchy’s Tacos, Starbucks and Mueller Farmers’ Market. We love taking daily walks around Mueller and have found the neighborhood to be very safe and quiet with lots of families.Lastly, the management team and maintenance team are excellent. Robert, Courtney and the rest of the management / leasing office are very responsive, caring and helpful with requests and go out of their way to make sure tenants are happy. Maintenance team does a great job keeping common areas clean and manicured (e.g. pool area looks like a resort) and are very responsive to maintenance requests.Great experience and highly recommend this property.
It he apartment complex is right in the middle of Austin and lots to do if you want to travel by foot. Location is great, the company that owns it is not.Upon moving in we were shown amenities that we could use gyms, pool, grills, coffee machines, monthly meet ups and common rooms. Obviously these were taken away for a majority of the last 8 months, but when the city opened back up they did not. They also declined to reduce any portion of the rent because we don’t pay for the facilities, we only pay for our rooms. This place is a massive corporation not a part of the community. The don’t assist with anyone in any trouble, ie car break ins, packages being stolen, and lost amenities. They just want their money. We now get monthly emails letting us know it is time to pay rent. The pool has a guard and the only allow 25 people in, so if you don’t make it there first thing in the morning you have to go home and keep checking all day to see if you can get in. I’m counting down the days to moving out.
False fire alarms at all hours of night. They’re excruciating
I’m a Surgeon near by and was looking for a please to lease while on call. From reading the response from the owner on the one star reviews I will past the chance to lease here. You can clearly tell they do not care about the safety and concerns of their residents. With me leaving out different times of the day and night I would like to feel Secure. No thank you, If this one is like that I’m sure all of them are. Bad business Amli👎🏾
Going on Four years living here,This is home! :) I couldnt be anymore happier.Thank you!
Really enjoyed living here for a 13-month lease. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and the common areas are very well kept. The pool is also amazing. Would recommend to anybody looking for an apartment in Mueller.
I have been at AMLI on Aldrich for 3 months. I have haf a very good experience living here. The place feels safe and neighbors are quiet. I enjoy the amenities that we have here. Adam and Aaron have all been very kind and gracious in helping me out. The best apartment I have experienced so far.
We lived here for a year and a half. The location is amazing - close to the farmers market, lots of parks and restaurants, very walkable. The apartments themselves were very nice, spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff is terrible. Safety is not a concern for the community, our storage unit was broken into - along with every other storage unit in the vicinity. We called the police and they said that an apartment of this style should have surveillance and security in the halls but it seems that they did not to cut costs. The staff accused us of leaving our storage unit unlocked instead of investigating the incident. They also did not notify the other residents of the break ins until we pushed them to. These break ins happen all the time.
Wonderful place to live! The staff is so helpful and the community is so clean and well kept. The amenities are top notch and the location is amazing. I love it here
A great place to live. The staff is attentive, courteous. The rent is excessive for the square footage but thats the price of living in Austin but they do have SMART HOUSING affordability rates if you qualify. The gym is spacious and has an ample amount of machines and weights. The pool area is like a resort. The Zen courtyard is relaxing. There is many more amenities to talk about because there is alot here.
Burn Calories. Not Energy. Take the Stairs. really sums up my 18 month experience at this establishment. Living at an Amli is a right of passage and destiny for privileged 20/30 somethings moving to Austin. The convenience of walking to HEB is a 10/10. This place will either be exactly what youre looking for, or will do an exceptional job at showing you what you really want out of life. Best of luck on your journey 🙌 !
This is my 2nd AMLI community and it has not disappointed! We absolutely love living here. The amenities, the staff, the maintenance, etc. has been top notch!
Childish management team and nonsense policies go along with the premium you will pay for rent here. If you like to be treated like a child then you will love it here. Be prepared to have to wear a rubber yellow bracelet when you leave your apartment for identification purposes so long as you are on the apartment grounds. Bracelets are required in the pool area as well as in the other courtyard where the grill is located. Not having a bracelet will cause you to be confronted by a surly security guard at the pool. This is his only job, apparently...to look for these bracelets and harass those who didnt wear one.A few months ago my car was broken into and the front office offered NO assistance even though it was parked in the parking garage with a gate. They basically told me sorry, but that it was my fault for not securing my belongings. They would not let me look at security tapes of cars coming or going even though I had a small window of time to search...only 4 hours between when I parked my car and when I got back in it to go to work. They wouldnt take the time to help.So they pay security guards to watch the swimming pool and make sure that anyone who dips a toe in is wearing the stupid yellow bracelet, but they will not pay for security to patrol the grounds or parking garage even though there have been multiple break-ins of vehicles and storage sheds reported by residents. All they did in response was to post signs in the garage instructing residents to lock their car and hide or remove their possessions. No duh...my car was broken into and valuable items were removed from my trunk...I would call that hidden. They love to boast about their LEED Certification, but they use particle board baseboards in the bathrooms and around the tubs. We had to have them removed from our apartment because mold was actively growing in our baseboards...this was after only living there for a month or so and THEY FOUGHT US on it. UnrealWill never ever live in another property managed by AMLI...some of the worst customer service Ive ever received and Ive lived in some rundown apartments before...all of which still took care of their residents. You do not get what you pay for here. Nowhere close
Great place overall! Amenities are very nice but some of the smaller details such as working tv’s in the cabanas and a level shuffle board were being overlooked. This is an updated review.
No matter how clean you leave the apartment; watch for double charge on trash fees. Not good. They care more about $$ & dogs then your safety. They find a reason to keep your deposit.
Great amenities! Friendly staff!
Beautiful place, wonderful staff.
