Ive been at these apartments for 7 years and am completely happy. Both the management team/maintenance staff are very professional and have made my time here amazing and easy. I do miss the pool parties that the management team used to throw for us but hopefully theyre return after the pandemic. LOVE IT HERE!

Very bad experience, dont trust the staff on what they say. Get everything written on document. I was told that an apartment is available and as soon I completed the leasing document in 40- 45 minutes with successful payment, the apartment is leased out. They just make excuses and never understand the pain of the customer. the staff is just trying to exploit the surge in demand, Hence be careful.

I have developed wonderful relationships with my neighbors during the pandemic, but I have had some serious concerns with the management (Margaret Demirs, property manager, and Cecil Domel, regional manager). We are always being policed in this neighborhood over policies that do not put people first. I have had comments (that were non profane just disagreeable) censored on our community wall. They wont allow things like bamboo, netting, etc on balconies for the aesthetic despite the neighborhood being rife with mosquitoes. Sure, this is a business, but it is a business that serves people. There have been increased car break ins recently (this is very common in ALL apartment complexes across Austin) and they have asked us to contact our city council member, Greg Casar, to ask for increased police presence. I disagree with this decision because it will endanger the very residents who live in the neighborhood. When originally speaking to management about my concerns, I tried to provide alternative solutions (e.g. increase private security measures instead of asking for police presence as compromise) and I was met with the same regurgitated rationales as to why they made the policy decision. I made it clear that I dont agree with the policy decision and that wasnt the point of me calling to understand why they made the decision. I want them to consider alternatives that are inclusive of all people instead of making decisions that have historically only benefited specific groups of people. Instead, they (Cecil) chose to double down on the companies right to implement these policies. He was promptly cussed out after that. Just because you can doesnt mean you should.

Mackenzie Pointe has been, by far, the worst apartment complex I have lived in. Let’s start with the area. I work downtown and it is nice to be 10 minutes from my office with no traffic, but that is where the benefits stop. This complex is located in a bad part of town. They won’t tell you this when you take a tour due to legal restrictions, so read it here. In the 2 years I have lived here, there have been no less than 5 notifications sent out regarding suspicious activity in the complex and cars being broken into. Last year, a note was given out about a woman being threatened by two men at the door of her apartment, the two men tried to force her inside. My wife and I have also heard gunshots numerous times during our time here (I’m a gun nut so I know what gunshots sound like). Driving around to the back of the complex to see the fence topped with razor wire also gives you a good idea what the area is like. A friend who lived below us went out to their car one morning to find a coat hanger jammed into the lock of their trunk. Clearly someone had tried to break in. We went for a walk one day (big mistake in this area) and on our way back, there was a woman outside the front entrance, throwing rocks at apartment windows and cursing white people.Because the area is so bad, the rent is reasonable. The auto pay system is functional at best, but if for some reason the payment doesn’t go through, you won’t be notified until you get a notice of potential eviction posted to your door. I know this because I had an issue with fraud on my credit card one month so we had to get a new card. The rent payment didn’t go through for that month, but the office never notified us. Two weeks later, we got the notice of potential eviction. Of course we paid right away, but no call or email from the office to let us know that our regularly scheduled payment hadn’t gone through? There was another time where their online payment system went down at the first of the month when rent is due. This meant payment for a third of the people in the complex didn’t go through, and no one was notified. THEY CHARGED US LATE FEES ANYWAY! They also lied and said they brought notices around, though we never got a notice on our door. Still no call or email. Just another piece of paper several days later. The late fee never got refunded. Now let’s talk facilities. If you are unlucky enough to have a 1 bed 1 bath like us, there is no in-unit washer and dryer. The communal laundry room is a disaster. First, half the machines don’t work. Second, during COVID when there was a national coin shortage, they didn’t install card readers, AND increased the price to $1.50 per load. For the first part of COVID the gym and pool were both closed but no deduction in rent. Then when they did open the gym, you had to sign up on a schedule at the office. Only one person at a time from 10 am to 4 pm Monday - Friday. So the exact times that normal Americans are working.Units have very poor insulation so you will be cold in the winter if the temperatures drop. The trees are pretty but there are very few parking spots that allow you to park away from them to avoid the bird poop. One night parked under these trees in the spring or summer and your car will be covered. Not to mention the endless rain of pollen you’ll find on your car.I will say one good thing. The maintenance staff was always quick to respond if we had an issue.Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else.

Mckienzie Pointe apartments are located in a quiet area near 290. This complex offers reasonable rent and is conveniently located near major highway access points to get around town quickly. The staff is always friendly and the complex is consistently striving to make improvements to the facility, landscaping, and community improvements (such as small get together’s and fitness classes).

Fixed in record time.Friendly neighbors and great dogpark, pool, and gym.I have nothing bad to say about this place and I lived here for two years.Only downside is the neighborhood, I wouldnt recomend going for walks alone in the later hours.I walked my dogs and had reasons to feel uncomfortable sometime, but the actual place is gated and is safe.100% recomend.

Ive lived here for about a month and a half and I am so incredibly thankful that I moved here! There are so many trees that going out to my patio feels like my own little sanctuary. The community is so peaceful feeling. I recommend a third floor so you have the vaulted ceilings and the best views of the trees! The pool is also a really big pool that makes me feel like Im at a resort. They also have re-done their exteriors. I remember when they used to be a not so cute brown and now theyre beige with blue doors. Its so inviting and gorgeous here. The office staff are super sweet (shout out to Margaret, Juan and Brooke!) and maintenance is fast in any fixes that you need. You can tell all of them care for their residents. The only thing I can think to say that might be perceived as a con is that I hear my neighbors a little more than I did at my other complex but its not bad at all and it doesnt really bother me. Youre living in close proximity to others so its expected!I lived in my last apartment complex for over 6 years so moving was really scary for me. Ive thought about moving to MacKenzie Pointe for years and Im glad I finally pulled the trigger! I love it more than anywhere Ive ever lived. :)

I really like this place after only a year and a half. No pests, you can do online payments, very good communication from management, follow through on all maintenance issues, super nice managers, clean and secure community, quiet neighborhood, laundry facilities that actually work and are slightly cheaper than many other complexes. Only complaint is the parking. Its not assigned, so good luck finding a spot late at night.

Ive been living here for about 6 months, and I really like it. It is quiet, theres a good mix of types of residents, theres a pretty nice pool, and they just put in a dog park! The staff is nice and helpful and havent had any problems so far. The apartments are really close to UT/downtown - about a 15 min drive. Other residents that Ive talked to here seem pretty happy as well. The only downsides are that the apartments need some updating both inside and outside - theyre pretty basic - and theres not a whole lot in the immediate area. However, Im still giving the apartments 5 stars because if you look at your other options for one bedrooms this close to town that are less than $1,000, youre really not going to find much thats comparable in terms of all that youre getting with this complex.

Lived here for almost 2 years and really enjoyed it. The staff was polite and very responsive to email, portal messages, phone, and in-person. Maintenance was quick to respond to any issues as well. For the price, it was definitely worth it.The building is older, not luxury if that’s what you’re looking for, but they’re well maintained. Pest control did a great job, I had very minimal issues with bugs (very few cockroaches). There is plenty of parking, and neighbors are friendly. I’d highly recommend this apartment complex.-Melodie

I just moved out of these apartments, and lest say, they should me called Millipede Pointe Apartments. My apartment was infested with Millipedes, and ants. Reminds me of A Bugs Life. My husband and I moved here completely unaware of what we would be getting ourselves into. We had only visited Austin once so we didnt really know the neighborhoods and what not. We have lived here for almost a year now and couldnt be happier. Mackenzie Pointe apartments are great!! Its location is central, so its convenient if you travel north and south. The pricing here is actually affordable and can be pretty cheap, especially considering the amenities. We dont get bugs in the apartment, it is very clean, and I am very clean as well, but there was only one occasion where it rained for a long period of time which brought in a few tiny ants. The pool area is awesome, I use the laundromat every week and everything works fine. The management here is very friendly and always helpful. They even host parties occasionally for the tenants. I guess the only eh things I can say about it, which arent even that bad are 1. You will have a hard time finding a parking spot late at night close to your apartment if you live in the front, and 2. If your considering the apartment with the sun room, dont get your hopes up to much, all it really is is an extension to your living room. My husband and I love these apartments and only plan on leaving when we can afford a more luxurious apartment.

When I first moved here, all of my air vents were closed so naturally the place was a furnace. To be fair they offered me a prorate for the potentially high electricity bill, but I am not sure if that is even on the table anymore. I just cannot recollect what happened with the auto/on switch, but for the trouble I think a discount is completely fair. I imagine a person could switch the thermostat to on and completely forget about it because they just need some cool air. Besides the heat I experienced, on a positive note, the staff are kind and the apartments are spacious and affordable. Now that I have had most of my problems resolved I have lived relatively comfortably here. I recommend this place, but only if you are willing to deal with some irritating things starting off.

I lived here for nearly two years and this place has best staff I have ever experienced for an apartment complex by miles! The managers themselves are very friendly and helpful, and work very hard to ensure your requests are heard. The maintenance team is very proactive and they keep the place clean despite there being trees everywhere. The downside is that because there are trees everywhere, it is very hard to maintain a clean car. The birds are out to make your car messy! No joke. Also, my apartment model at the time (a 563 sq. ft. model) needed a little bit of work done; for instance the kitchen counter tops in mine were not completely finished along the under lip. Some of the sealing around the doors, windows could be improved. Though perhaps that could have just been my own apartment. The washer and dryer facilities for the most part do a good job, but there were times when some dryers wouldnt dry your clothes enough. But the staff was always there to remedy the situation. I only hope that they get newer washers and dryers that do not only take quarters. But make sure you bring some quarters for now as youll need 10 quarters = $2.50 to wash and dry one load. So perhaps pay more for an in-unit washer and dryer, so you do not have to take a roll of quarters out at HEB frequently. As for the neighbors, some were very nice and respectful, but others were very inconsiderate and loud. Such as playing volleyball intoxicated at 2 - 3 a.m. or going 15 to 20 mph in the parking lot when you are trying to throw something away at night around the corner. Some neighbors are young students that can be disrespectful, but there seemed to be more adults between ages 25-40 that were very considerate and friendly. All in all, some future considerations can help this place be even better, but the staff truly make you feel right at home and I only wish I could have them everywhere I go because I do really miss them all!Enjoy!

Lived here for 3.5 years; moved in when I first moved to Austin and just recently moved out. The staff here is super kind and professional. They are all so quick to respond to any questions or concerns that you may have. Maintenance is always on top of things when you submit a service request. Rent is beyond reasonable considering that Austin is really expensive and that this is a well-built and well-kept apartment complex that goes for way cheaper than similar apts. I am a little sad to go, because MP is such a homey and sweet place but thank you MP staff for making my stay a very memorable one. And thank you Margaret for being so awesome and keeping this place always as welcoming and comfortable.

Mackenzie Pointe is the only apartment that weve ever renewed our lease with, and were finishing out our third lease! Our experience was great. The office and maintenance staff are very friendly and make you feel like you are truly part of a community, not just a group of buildings. They have a couple of parties for the residents every year with free food, drinks, and giveaways. They resolve issues very quickly. The buildings are older and my only piece of advice to new residents is to consider not renting top floor apartments. Our apartment gets very hot in the summer and it seems that its because of little insulation in the roof.Suggestion to management: consider giving residents an option to go paperless with bills and notices, maybe by getting a text messaging system.

Great value for the money. The reason its so affordable is because of the part of town its in. Also not all units have the same appliances. I love it here! Sure theres a few minor issues here and there, but theres nothing I cant live with. The office is SUPER FRIENDLY and AWESOME! They work with me to get any issue resolved ASAP! I get immediate attention for an issue. Example, I emailed about a pest problem and they replied saying that my building is now on the list to be sprayed. Also, my AC wasnt working correctly at 9 pm and my apartment was 87 degrees and I had a maintenance guy show up within 30 minutes to give me a temporary unit until he could fix it in the morning! And of course it got fixed that morning. I definitely recommend living here if you want a nice apartment with great management and maintenance.

Birds poop on my car 24/7. Some genius decided to plant trees in front of every parking space which causes this problem. It is a huge inconvenience to have to wash your car literally everyday, unless you like poop ALL OVER your car. Also there is not enough parking sometimes, but this may be a problem at most apartment complexes. Other than the poop problem, this place is pretty good. But constant poop is a deal breaker.Mackenzie Pointe, do something about the birds pooping everywhere!!!

Lived in this apartment complex for a year and was always completely satisfied. Rents are reasonable for what you get, and the office staff is very friendly, easy to work with, and accommodating. Maintenance staff are also friendly and trustworthy, always getting work done very promptly and successfully, in our experience. If UT Austin werent discontinuing the Camino La Costa shuttle route, I would probably not be moving from here (but if you dont rely on the bus to get to campus/downtown area, its great). Other reviewers have commented about safety/theft, but we have never experienced crime in this complex or heard about others experiencing it since weve been here (not to say it doesnt ever happen, I may just be lucky--of course, we always lock our apartment door and car doors). Pool is well-maintained, as are the volleyball court and the laundry facilities (it took a while for them to fix one of the machines one time, but there were plenty of other working machines in the complex, so no big deal). Only real qualm was that its kinda of far away from stuff thats worth going to, especially if youre walking/biking.

The office staff was friendly, the apartment was huge, maintenance was prompt, and when the UT bus serviced camino la costa it was insanely perfect. This is the only apartment I ever resigned a lease for. The only reason its not 5 stars is because of the janky gates, the constant bird poop on cars/the smell, and the fairly small gym.
