Very old apartments. The cabinets don’t works. The outlets damage all my chargers. You have wifi in every apartment unit but mine never worked. The ac vents are super dirty. I requested to get them change and they never did. In fact it broke and there was a huge hole in it that they cover with aluminum once I asked for its of course the aluminum broke. I ask get it fix the whole thing, they didn’t they just put the aluminum back. When the noise that it was making was gone the apartment was pretty hot. I ask for them to turn down the ac (we don’t have access to that) and their decision was yo break the aluminum and leave the whole. The receptionist told me that maybe I have to chose between being hot or having that loud noise and the hole. Since I got here I asked many time for one of my drawers to be fixed they never did. Laundry room is shareable with the whole floor but no one cleans it so it’s always dirty. The lights in there also don’t work. They gym is also really old. And they have a serious problem with cockroaches. They also said that we have cleaning services that come every two weeks and they’ve showed up like 3 times in 4 months
One of the worst places to live! The AC shuts off from time to time, maintenance does minimal job, hot water shut off happens so many times, and elevators do not work at times. One time I had to run down so many flights of stairs because of a random false fire alarm, and when I got to the 1st floor, all they said was it was a false alarm. Great, now I had to go back up and get interrupted from my nap when I only ran 3 hours of sleep. The elevators shut off recently, and I had to walk about 24 flights of stairs in a very hot and compact space. I do not recommend living here. The prices and the quality of this place is definitely not worth it. Please get an apartment instead because you will be paying around the same price. On top of that, there are many people with certain health issues that could not walk the stairs.update: They do not even know when the elevators will get fixed. It’s really unfair for newly move-ins and especially parents dropping off their children for college having to walk so many flights of stairs just to drop off their children. This absolutely ridiculous. The prices for rent are expensive and they can’t even get their elevators fixed? The management does minimal job keeping this place together. An apartment is better considering that you get a stove, and pretty much everything else while Dobie costs just as much and you do not get anything but just a simple dorm. Parking per month is also expensive, and I have friends telling me that they pay around $300/month of a meal plan that isn’t even worth it. Please do not waste your time here. If there’s any issue, they make you renew your lease. I believe that residents deserve a discount or a price drop for our rent because this is absolutely unfair and ridiculous for everyone/college students trying to make ends meet. Management really needs to fix this. RAs are very friendly and nice though! They’re amazing. However, I have been lenient with the issues around Dobie, but now I feel like this is too much.
After living here for a year, my opinion has changed quite a bit. everything in west campus is expensive, and you can get good deals a lot of places so Im not gonna mention price. This is a good option for freshman year if you dont want to live in the dorm or are not ready for fully independent living and still want a meal plan. It seems that the experience at Dobie is pretty hit or miss, and this is just my experience.pros:- fun game room/ good amenities- great views- amazing location- safe place to receive packages- very convenient living on top of a target- good security and safety- fun community building events (I won a Nintendo switch!)- maintenance team is pretty quickcons:- generally dirty/grimy in the units- small bathrooms- lots of dust build up- AC and heat is pretty bad and cant control it- small room window= low natural lighting- elevators can be fairly slow- if you arent getting the meal plan: only appliances are fridge and microwave and kitchenette is very small.- very low water pressureLiving at Dobie wasnt a bad experience, I made lots of great friends! I just think there are better options for similar prices. But once again, good, safe choice for freshman and cheaper than dorms!
Ive spoken to several staff members but didnt always recall their names. They were all great, but I remember Bryson in particular. That guy was exceptional. He was so polite and had such a great attitude. He was extremely helpful with a number of things. His customer service game was very strong. I know if I need help with anything else, he would be on it.
While attempting to fill out the Dobie application for my daughter, I ran into a few minor issues. I decided to call Dobie and was assisted by Sienna. To say that she was helpful would be a great understatement. Sienna assisted me in completing the application with a great we will get this done attitude. I had a few other questions later so I called back and went to my get-it-done assistant Sienna. She gave me the information that I needed in quick order. She is VERY pleasant to talk to and super willing to go beyond her required job description to assist residents and prospective residents. Thanks to Sienna for a professional and great experience.
I love coming to Dobie for the drag on the drag hosted by Celia Light. She’s always so kind and welcoming to me as is the staff whenever I need something inside. I’ve also spent some time in some of the dorm rooms and I’d definitely recommend them to UT or St Edwards students who are looking for views and decent spacing with a great location. Dobie does a great job of welcoming and enticing people to their location.
The staff at Dobie is so great!! There always so helpful and are quick to solve any issues. Westlin’s truly the best RA out there and Lucy literally runs the social media game here. Her instagram feed is A1 and really brings Dobie levels up. if i could give more than 5 stars i would!
I was a previous resident here, and I promised Tiffany, one of the staff members that used to work in the Dobie Cafe, that I would write a review.Dobie 2021 is a nice place to live: its affordable, the location to campus is a huge time saver, and the cafe food is tasty. It is also a short walk to my church, Austin Gatherings (austingatherings.org).The staff are friendly all around. Becky, one of the managers, was also kind and helpful when my roommate and I wanted to switch to a different room.I took this photo in one of the rooms I lived in here — great view of the sunrise. I am a Christian as well, so I put this beautiful verse on it: Proverbs 4:18, which represents the pathway of a Christian as they walk right with God — their path will only shine brighter and brighter until the day Christ comes back.Im thankful for the time I had when I stayed here!
I stopped by to tour Dobie Twenty21 and Bryson was an exquisite guide. His explanations were clear and his eagerness to show the amenities was well appreciated.Beyond this, he gave us great insight on what being a Longhorn is like.If I could rate more Stars I would.
Every step of the process to sign a lease for my daughter was easy! We also had a lovely helpful tour fro Savanna. Thank you, Im sure my daughter will have a lovely time at the Dobie.
I called recently while helping my sisters preorder some things for their new dorm.Bryson was very helpful and a quite the character. Would definitely recommend this dorm for anyone new to student leasing. Their team is very helpful and patient.
I think Dobie is a really cool hotspot for anyone to live at. So many Amenities and care from staff to make sure your stay is perfect. I was helped through every step of the leasing process since it was new to me. I got a place to myself and still saved more money having my own private area rather than staying in a community dorms in campus
Dobie is awesome place! Lucy is the best with social media. The Instagram she runs is so great compared to all other residences around, there’s always stuff going on, so it’s nice to see it all on the Instagram page. Westlin is also such an awesome RA. She is always there to help with anything residents need. They are some awesome people and should be commended!
My girlfriend lives here and I love getting to come visit her here! The amenities are great and the office staff are very helpful. Its really nice and I would definitely recommend living here.
I love Dobie! My experience here has always been positive and I love the events they have, the drag show is my favorite! If I ever had problems I could always talk to the front office and they always helped me out. Would definitely recommend to any of my friends!
Lucy, Ashlyn, Savana, Ricky all helped me out so much during move in. Had a great experience with a very professional staff. Would definitely recommend living here!!
I am a parent and my freshman daughter lived here for a year and loved it! Its super close to campus and she always felt super safe walking around. She loves the events and renewed for next year already. Thank you dobie!
They want $150/month for a short term lease. Parking is $150/ month. Oh, move in fee is about $175 short of $1000. So, unless you’re parents are paying for your education, you should NOT even consider this place. I havent even moved in and I already want to move out.
We moved our son into the Dobie the morning after the elevators became inoperable. The RA’s were super friendly and helpful though. They helped us lift big wheeled carts up a flight of stairs where items were stored until professional movers came. We drove around campus and when we returned the RA’s were cheering as we drove by to park. I thought the elevators were fixed but they cheered because a lot of people yelled at them and we were nice. That warmed my heart and then Lucy took our picture and even offered to help us in any way she could. The staff at Dobie was handed the worst possible scenario for moving students into a 27 floor high rise. There were several other female RA’s and two other males that showed a remarkable positive attitude given the circumstances. I now have complete confidence that my freshman son is in a good place just because of all those smiling RA’s eager to help.I would have given the Dobie five stars except the room was not very clean. However, the amenities, the Target store, and the STAFF are EXCEPTIONAL!Hats off to Lucy and her fellow RA’s for making our first day at UT enjoyable and pleasant even without working elevators‼️
Lucy, Sienna, Vanna, and Ashlyn are the best RAs. They were great helping with move in, and they were really nice. Lucy took pictures of me and my family and they were great. The facility is nice, and I would 100% recommend!EDIT: I also want to recognize Westlin for being in charge of a summer social zoom event. I won a Texas trivia game, which was fun, and Westlin got me a Target gift card for winning. She was also kind when assisting with move in.
Omg my first time in Dobie was an experience I won’t forget. I walked in and was greeted very kindly by Lucy and Ashlyn at the front desk. I got a tour of the rooms and fell in love with the place. I’m from out of state and this place definitely has my heart.
After spending a few days deciding on places to check out, I decided to schedule an in-person tour. Lucy at the front desk did an amazing job showcasing the value of living at the Dobie - making sure to highlight all of the amenities the Dobie has to offer. I am extremely happy my experience, as well as with the property. I will be moving forward with the application process. A huge thank you to Lucy and Javier for making my experience a very positive one.
Lucy (in customer service) is one of the most helpful people Ive ever had the pleasure of dealing with when it comes to apartment shopping. She offered the perfect answers to my questions and also came up with information I didnt even know I needed to hear. Not only was inviting and helpful, but she did an incredible job talking up the opportunity to live here.
My tour guide, Javier, was absolutely amazing!!! He made my friend and so feel right at home, off the bat he represented Dobie Twenty21 in a great light. This employee is one of the reasons I’m choosing to live here next Fall. The amenities were up to date and offer an extra boost to the community. Javier treated me like a friend and made sure that I would make the best deal for me. Dobie Twenty21 definitely provides a promising home.
Thank you John Cruz for making us feel at home. You gave us options to choose from and did a great job showing us everything that Dobie Twenty21 has to offer from room layouts, meal plans, gym ... I can honestly say that well be signing the lease before school starts(thanks to you).😊
If you are looking for a comfortable community and room to reside in, this is NOT the place to be. Water will often be cold, the HVAC is horrendous, and the floor is solid concrete. When moving in, I had to clean the storage compartments under my bed because they had toenails in them. Be prepared to wait for the elevators, you will spend a lot of your time waiting for them. Furthermore, maintenance and cleaning services will do the bare minimum when visiting your room and the food is close to inedible.
I toured this complex recently and was pleased by everything I saw! The rooms, amenities, and people I spoke with were all exceptionally nice. The RA, Westlin Corely, gave me the tour, she was super helpful and knowledgeable, answered all my questions and made my tour a great experience.
Sienna was an absolute joy to work with when we were apartment hunting. We booked a tour of the property and she greeted us promptly upon our arrival. She was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. All of the staff that we spoke with were very friendly and professional. My daughter is looking forward to living at Dobie 21 in the Fall!
I loved living here my freshman year! Great location! & Sienna always helped me at the desk!
Just do not live in here..food is really disgusting and nothing to eat, just get university meal plan
We love the location and we have a ton of fun at the events. Thank you Sienna Johnson! and thank you to Celia and Matt for such well organized shows
Ashlyn was so helpful and great in talking to us about all the things Dobie offers!
Most of the last comments are fake and often with the same name. I have never been safe in this residence and the manager never responds to emails.Very dirty place and no security. Above my comment Im sure that tomorrow there will be about ten people saying its a great place except that the residence is empty. You can find much better for the same price or even cheaper.
Big shout out to Javier for his patience, enthusiasm, and knowledge. My father and I had numerous questions and he was so kind and made us feel at ease. I look forward to exploring the possibility of choosing dobie21 as my future residence!!!
Sienna Johnson invited us to the drag show and we had the best time! Thank you for the wonderful experience sienna!! Thank you Celia for a wonderful show!
My first year at Dobie was amazing! From having help completing my lease over the phone, to move-in day, to the front desk staff service always willing to help in any way possible! I have had a great experience here. Javie, one of the resident assistants, is really easy to talk and is always willing to help out! I really liked the convenience of the café food plan and spaces to actually loosen up and be with friends. I highly recommend staying here if your look for good quality stay in Austin!
THE DRAG QUEEN EVENT WAS AMAZING! They should have more of them. Cicilia was great.
I knew Id have to write this review within a week or so of moving in, but held off this long to see if things would improve. They did not. In all fairness, a lot of the issues Ive experienced over the last few months may just be me being picky, but I found it difficult to find accurate and recent reviews of what life here was really like, so Id like to provide that information to help UT25 and others make informed decisions before signing their leases.-First Id like to address how disappointed I was learn that Dobie was being used as a COVID hotel for UT (place where positive students stay while recovering) and were on floors where other rent-paying residents lived, and we were not told. When we contacted the office to ask questions we were told they could not confirm or deny that.-If youre an out of state prospect, be advised that Texas weather is incredibly unreliable, and often operates in extremes. Unfortunately, living in Dobie, you can expect the temperature of your room to mirror that outdoors. There is not a thermostat in your room. So when the weather gets hot and humid, as it did just a day or so ago, rooms become saunas. Conversely when the temperature drops, like it did during winter storm Uri, it was like living in a freezer. Its an old building, so be prepared to live in the extremes for 24 hours waiting for someone to actually adjust the temperature as well as another 24-48 for your room to either heat up or cool down.-The water is a big issue for everyone as well. If you asked me to count the times that we did not have hot water or that they turned it off on fingers ( besides during the storm), Id have to borrow a friend and use theirs as well. Sometimes its off for a few hours, other times youll be taking cold showers for a few days.-Another big issue is roaches. They had exterminators spray at the beginning of the school year, but they have not come to our unit since. I recommend keeping toilet lids down, tub drains stopped and sink drains closed because the roaches come. up. from. the. drains. Not fun getting in the shower and feeling roaches scattering around your feet.-They advertise their free housekeeping, and they do have housekeeping..that comes every 2 weeks and only takes out the trash (which will have to be done before they come obviously) and mops. If you like clean, sanitary spaces, go ahead and put cleaning supplies on your list, because youll have to do it yourself.-Theres been issues with the meal plan as well. Namely, that the food is not good, and has made me and many others nauseous at times. Just a few weeks ago I cut into a chicken breast to find it still pink inside. Additionally (and this may just be a covid adjustment) the cafe is open 7a-9a, 11a-2p, and 5p-8p. If you have classes all day, then youre just out of luck. If you get hungry after 8, youre on your own. I try to make it down as often as possible to get the full value of the monthly $300 price tag, but still spend 150-250 bucks buying ready meals, snacks, and non perishables. If you get the meal plan, but decide you no longer want it for any reason, too bad so sad, they wont let you out of it.- Overall, I gave them 2 stars, out of generosity. It definitely seems appealing for parents worried about their students being in their first apartment, but the tours and website show a reality that simply doesnt exist. If the price is the pull factor, Id highly recommend that you look at other buildings in west campus that offer fully furnished SMART housing. Even if you dont qualify for financial aid, theres often addendums to the criteria that make it more accessible. Or if youll have a vehicle, check out Riverside. Its a short drive, but the prices are way more reasonable. The things I listed may not be make-or-break factors for others, but if I had been aware of them when looking for somewhere to live, I wouldve crossed Dobie off my list. Do thorough research, there are definitely nice, modern, and well-valued places throughout WC..DobieTwenty21 is not one of them. At all.
I had a great experience there, particularly while speaking with Javie, one of the lease managers. If youre thinking about signing here, consider talking to him. Hes very friendly, polite, and will most definitely have your best interest at heart!
I enjoyed the time I have lived at Dobie21. It provides a delicious, reliable meal plan and all the staff does a great job of making you feel at home. Tyler especially helped me a lot with move in and he did a great job at making sure all my concerns were addressed once I did live there.
(MAKE SURE TO READ THE UPDATE AT THE END!!)Dont ignore the reviews!! Thats what my roommates and I made the mistake of doing and signed a lease with Dobie for the year, and boy do we regret it. There are SO SO many issues weve had (you can see the list of grievances pictured) that despite the good price, is not worth staying here. It takes forever for maintenance requests to be completed and half the time they just ignore them or tell you that nothing is wrong. If you dont have to get the meal plan DO NOT GET IT. The food is not good and has giving all of my roommates stomach issues. Weve been staying here for about a month now and our AC still does not work (we had to live in a 80+ degree apartment for about 3 weeks). The garage elevator is so unbelievably sketchy and old, to the point we prefer to walk down four flights of stairs with our laundry rather than getting stuck in the elevator again. We have run into multiple homeless people on the bottom floor of Dobie that were camped out there with their belongings. Their employees and RAs are not following CDC Guidelines AT ALL. Every time I or my roommates walk down to the lobby, there are a ton of them sitting behind the desk just chatting away with no masks on. On top of that, Ive seen my specific RA walking around and in the elevator with a group of people wearing no mask (no mask even in their hands). I could go on, but you can simply just refer to the pictured list of issues. Again DONT SIGN A LEASE HERE. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE.UPDATE!!!:Holly, the property manager, is such a great lady and is super accommodating. Just last weekend we actually got switched to a new unit that is much more upgraded and nicer and my roommates and I have been loving it so far. I would definitely say they need to work on communication downstairs, but thats an easy fix that I can tell theyre working on. Im keeping this post up to show, yes, unfortunate things happens, but its a relief to know that the managers are willing and ready to fix them to their best of their abilities for you.
Chris is the sweetest worker and I love his drag shows! Definitely the main reason I stuck around for my full lease
My daughter had a great move in day experience. She moved in on August 17th. The staff was very helpful in providing large rolling bins which made the move fast and easy. I was also happy to see everyone wearing their masks and social distancing! Thank you Dobie Twenty 21.
I love the drag shows!! Ive never seen so many people show up at a dobie event like this one before. Ive been to movie nights and theres only been 1 person there.
Great Drag show, thanks for inviting us Sienna, Matt, & Celia!
I am not gonna lie, i would give it zero stars if i could. But living here is just a straight catfish to EVERYONE. yes online you see pictures of certain spots that catch your attention but once youre living here you realize its not the same and the feeling of being secure is not there. now on top of that, we are currently having to use 2 fans for our room because the temperature in the room is 84 degrees because they say it takes days for the AC to kick in but when it was cold outside it was also cold inside like that doesnt make any sense at all. we called if we can checkout another fan and its broken, and they dont have anymore so now were sitting with the fan to our faces because of how hot it is. if youre planning to live here while going to school, i recommend you look and read at the real comments and i repeat READ them all. And of course, the owners and the people running this place don’t try their best to fix the issues because of course they aren’t the ones living here.
They made the application process very easy and very clear. Answered all my questions and were very accomodating.
Better options for same price
The staff is so friendly and the events are so much fun here. (Sienna at the front desk is so helpful!) - Its also really convenient to be on top of target, ragstock, and starbucks. Love it
DO NOT STAY HERE ---- Hello, I have been falsely accused of owing this property over $10,000 when I have never even stayed here in my life. This property has sent this amount to collections without even trying to explain how or what these charges came about. I have been receiving threatening letters in the mail saying I owe this amount and they have even reported it to collections on my experian account. I demand an explanation as to why I am being charged this, because I literally have never in my life stayed here, and I am sure there is proper documentation to prove that, on your behalf.
Drag show here is amazing! The hostess Celia Cruz is great!
Thank you so much celia light for the amazing drag show ❤️
Sienna Johnson invited me to the drag show & Celia/Christopher & Matt the DJ ABSOLUTELY KILLED IT! I AM SO EXCITED TO COME AGAIN
Pros:-Dobie’s staff members and cafe team members are all super kind and try their best to cater to your needs-theres some really good food on some days if you get the meal plan-basically on campus; literally right across from the tower / 6 pack-nice, small gym with decent equipment variety-nice study areas-a small target and a food court is right below the living spaces !!-great social events (especially I think will be good after covid)Cons:-the building’s rooms itself just cannot take it anymore. For the price of a shared studio room Dobie was just not worth it imo. There are much more comfortable living conditions in west campus for the same price or just a little more.-every resident and past resident will likely agree with this but the heating system is pretty bad; they basically have one heating unit that runs the entire building so you can’t really decide how hot or cold your room is-rooms don’t have kitchens or much room for setting up cooking appliances which means you’ll either have to get a meal plan or walk to the school / the drag to get food-sometimes they don’t have hot water for the showers ? which is just annoying if you need to shower, but this isn’t too commonI feel like price isn’t worth it; it’s not awful but just wouldnt choose to experience again because of the rooms itself. Definitely a freshman dorm experience except jester and any other dorm is actually a lot nicer. If you’re last minute looking for a place to live, Dobie will be fine ! but I’d look around more if you do have time
This place is horrible! The A/C never worked for me, and i got to stay in 3 different rooms theses past 2 years. It gets really hot inside! Also, ive had bad experiences management, and i would not trust any of the reviews that are good. They bribe people with with gift cards, audio speakers, apple watch, etc just to get people to submit good reviews.
Running water plz :(
For what they charge its ridiculous they refuse to turn on the air conditioning in 100 degree heat
I was on the phone with one of the employees named Lucy and she was so so helpful!!! She was so friendly and helped me so so much with all of the questions I had, and helped me secure my lease!! Thank you so so much Lucy!! You are the best!! :)
Milena was an awesome tour guide! She answered all of our questions and provided us with so much useful information. My mom walked into the building saying she was set on me staying in the dorms, but she walked out ready to sign the lease for Dobie 21. It’s a beautiful building and the most affordable. We both loved it!
All of the employees are always so nice and helpful at the front desk, especially Sienna.
My son has been a resident at Dobie since June. He has been very pleased with the cafeteria food and longish hours, has consistently said that maintenance has been very responsive, and is very happy with the front desk folks. When he first moved in, Dobie was in process of changing out an elevator, but there seem to have been very few elevator problems since. Likewise, there were some climate control issues early on, but Dobie seems to have fixed those, possibly through some upgrades. He is extremely happy with the quality of the laundry machines on his floor. There are continual activities available for the residents, for example, movie nights and various events with snacks. The building has had some maintenance events, but the communications are good concerning these. I know that my son has been satisfied. Folks, you cannot beat the safety or convenience of being right across the street from campus. Dobie has been an unexpected notable improvement over now empty University Towers. They even followed through with a really nice leasing gift that my son is using every day. Thank you, Dobie, and good luck with many more years of helping students.
Live here!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cant stress it enough. Look past what youve seen or heard... some people are crazy. The property is awesome and theyre renovating a lot around. Its looking good guys! Rebecca has always helped me out personally, and Sam is always very cheery. Come and tour Dobie!! You will not regret it!!!
Becky, Sam, and Holli are very nice. They want to help me bring a new type of event to the property and we are all excited for the opportunity. I have been here for a couple of years and have made great friends of Tyler, Olivia, Christopher, Milena, Matthew, and Abigail. The new guys Andrew and Josh are also great!Dobies great! The new staff seems to be going above and beyond with the improvements! Cant wait to see this place restored to its former glory!
I hate living here already, they make you get a food plan but the food is disgusting. Today was my last straw, i have had it with the rude employees, loud neighbors, and CONTAMINATED FOOD. I went in for earlier this week and a found a bug in my food. I will be contacting the local health agency to evaluate the kitchen where the food is made. See the photo attached
Their staff has created a space for not only residents but also the Austin community to express themselves through events such as their drag in the drag events. If you’re a freshman looking for a place to stay close to UT I recommend here!!! I hope to continue to see events like this be supported by upper management, great job!
The food has really stepped up from what Ive heard, and the cafe hours seem to suit everyone well. A small suggestion would be updating all visible machinery/hardware. My room situation has been stabilized thanks to Sam and how hard/quickly hes worked for me. Super huge help. Dobies location is unbeatable and Id recommend 10/10.
We have had a great experience at Dobie!!! My daughter has lived here for almost a year. She absolutely loves her apartment! But what makes me feel the best as a parent is the helpful staff. They are always very nice and helpful when she needs anything! The property is well maintained and super fun for her. She loves the activities, and the food is actually pretty good!!! LOL!
The service at Dobie Twenty21 is the best! My leasing consultant was Andrew Peet. I called and e-mailed him several times and he always responded quickly and accurately. He thinks along when solving problems and communicates clearly. I felt welcome even before I lived there. Good services is essential for a dormitory and Dobie Twenty21 has a very good staff. I would definitely recommend it!
My parents and I love Dobie Twenty21. The last couple of years here have been great and I am glad I chose to live here. The convenience of the location cant be matched, and its really great to have a cafe downstairs. Tyler, Olivia, and Chris have become friends that I hope to keep well into the future. Rebecca and Sam have been helpful when it comes to any issues Ive encountered.
Celia Light’s drag shows are the best thing at Dobie! 😍
The drag on the drag is the best part of living at Dobie!!
Ive lived at Dobie for a few years, and the reviews from the past are a bit outdated. Too many renovations have been done! This place runs so much smoother than when I moved in! The elevators have been entirely upgraded, the cafe has made some better decisions recently, and the staff is killer. Olivia, Becky, Sam, Tyler, Chris, Milena, Holli, Charlemagne, Ryan, Andrew, Josh, Matthew, & Abigail are a tight-knit team ready to help out with whatever you need. Id highly recommend living at Dobie.
Have enjoyed the student giveaways and free snacks! Dobie is in a great central location and close to lots of restaurants in downtown Austin. I have a great view of the UT Tower and football stadium as well.
The drag show here is the best!!!
Ive lived here for 3 years and cant begin to describe the convenience associated with the location and the incredible service presented by staff. I overheard a conversation about roommate issues (typical in dorms), and I was confident enough to bring up my own issues. Rebecca and Sam were attentive and thoughtful when addressing these issues for me and I feel like Ive been heard. Tylers my bud and always brings a smile to my face. Id also highly recommend working with Christopher, Milena, Abigail, Matthew, Olivia, Joshua, and Andrew. There have been a couple of staff changes lately, and the office feels a lot brighter!!
The Leasing Officer Javie is really cool
Its been great overall! Id like it if they reduce the amount of salt in dobie cafe food. Addition of vegan food is by far the best decision. Keep it up!
PARENTS BEWARE!!! They bring you in and and show you a beautiful lobby, large cafeteria, pool, game room, deck, workout room, and nice model rooms. What they dont show you is the truth... your child will be given a room in which the heat and A/C do not work. My sons room is so hot that he cant sleep at night and gets headaches. This has been a problem for a year now. The elevators rarely work. You do not have a choice about paying $300 a month for a meal plan that is worth about $50. The cafeteria should be open 12 hours a day at that price and the food should be a lot better. If you your plastic key breaks or you lose it they charge you $175 to replace it. They will not replace a key on the weekend. The rooms at Dobie are better than on campus but there are many options other than Dobie for nice rooms at a much better rate.
What can I say about Dobie 21? Incredible staff of front desk people who are helpful all of the time! I like to deal with some of the girls up at front including my faves Olivia Courtney and her partner in crime Abby Cordova!Keep on rocking Dobie!!!
To Dobie Twenty 21 Student & Spaces Trinity Employees. This is a new review on Dobie Twenty 21 the Good news the Trinity Employees came to my dorm and fixed my shower head and they also fixed my A/C, I still need a fan which I have right now. For right now its going to 4 and a half stars.
I recently moved my little sister into Dobie Twenty21 and i have to give all the credit to Becky. Ive been responsible for my little sister and this was such a scary time for both her and i! I love everything here!! There are some days that the food isn’t as amazing as others but other than that it’s been great!! It’s gonna be awesome living here during the school year.
Drag on the drag events super fun! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming! Make sure to check the events out on Friday nights for an overall good time! :)
So when I was looking for housing in Austin, Id been dealing with jerks all day and this was the last property I was even gonna consider. I met Christopher at the front desk and he was AWESOME! He was super nice and professional and super thorough. Finally it felt like I was talking to someone who knew what they were talking about! Even though Im moving to Round Rock I felt like people should know that at least here there are professionals who can help you, very satisfied!
Celia Light put on a great show. The experience was unforgettable. I’m so glad Dobie allowed her to host her show in their great lounge
I toured the Dobie and was impressed with their customer service. I loved the amenities and the variety of floor plans. They also had some great specials. Diamond was very informative and helpful! If your looking for affordable student housing near UT def check this place out.
Can’t beat the pricing and the location, but the old building shows it’s age when you live there. In my 6 months so far, I have experienced cold showers, broken air conditioners, “WiFi upgrades”...and I have been moved out of my old room because management decided to update 6 floors of rooms arbitrarily. The cookies in the cafeteria are good though.
Celia Light is amazing. She’s so bubbly and a great person to be around :). She brings the energy needed to Dobie. I like how the event intertwines entertainment and free food.
Fine to air bnb. Its a dorm building so lots of kids and very small and bare rooms. Its certainly cheap though. And there food and a Target in the building.
So, I never really write reviews, but I felt like a really had to after my experience last week. I had a really rough week last week and I wanted to get my mind off of stuff so I went to this event called Drag Madness and I don’t think I’ve ever had so MUCH FUN! Everyone was so nice and seeing all these queens perform was so crazy. Even after the show I was talking to the host Celia Light and she was so nice and talking to me about Dobie and I think I found an awesome place. Keep stuff like this going!
I love Dobie because they have so many fun events you can attend in your free time. My favorite, Chriss Ru Pauls Drag Race viewing parties. The environment is so fun and Chris kills it as Celia Light!!
Responsive staff, great view. Had a roommate issue when I first moved in and staff like Becky quickly helped me resolve it! Really grateful and would definitely recommend!!!
Drag show made me sign with dobie!
I went to Chris’ Rupaul event for the first time, and I loved it!!! It’s such a fun and welcoming community. It means so much to me to find a welcoming place where I feel like I belong. I hope this event only becomes more sought out and popular. It has so much potential.
The only excellent thing about Twenty21 is the view. Everything else was mediocre at best, but the one working elevator on a 27-story tall building instead of 3 (which still isn’t a lot given how small they are) during a busy week definitely dragged the experience down to the sewers. The dorm floors are concrete, the food is unvaried but ok, and the architecture looks like every 200 sq ft was designed by a different person.
Im writing this review about one housekeeper we have specifically. Betty is absolutely fantastic. Every Wednesday I come back from class and my room is totally spotless and smells great. I can tell she puts in an extra effort because she doesnt forget the smaller areas or the deep corners. I look forward to Wednesdays every week so I can enjoy a clean room for the next 48 hours :) Thank you Betty!!
Dobie is a nice place to live. They have their kinks but the employees make it worth it. Our RA Elijah was fantastic and was super helpful throughout the year. Also the housekeeping staff did amazing every time especially Alicia R. She is a hard worker and very nice. As well as all the kitchen staff. They’re all amazing people
I have a lot of fun at Dobie. The food is good and the people are nice. I really like how we get to decorate our room how we wants so we can live comfortably. Theres always events going on in the building that are fun and exciting. All yall need to do is fix the elevators.
I love the Dobie! The office staff is really nice/helpful and the meal plan that is included in your rent tastes like grandmas homemade meals. They really have it at all and right next to campus!
