I have lived at AMLI South Shore for a year and just signed a lease with AMLI at Mueller. When I moved into AMLI South Shore, it was a peak time during the pandemic and my first day in Texas. Stephanie was incredibly empathetic and helped make the move much easier. Now, I am moving into AMLI at Mueller because I had such a positive experience at the AMLI property of South Shore, but I wanted to be closer to work. I had the incredible luck of being able to work with Stephanie again. She showed me the property twice, answered my millions of questions, and responded to any emails or extra questions I had immediately. I am so grateful for all her help and for making both properties feel more like home.
Even though we have been in Amli Mueller (and Austin!) for a few short weeks, our experience here has been amazing. From the moment we first met Stephanie we knew she was listening to us and our needs. We see her at all hours not only giving tours but also hosting events and helping build a great sense of community. Our apartment is great and management has been very transparent regarding upgrades and construction.Overall, we are very pleased with our choice to be here!
The AMLI community is wonderful. The staff are absolutely on it, almost always responding to maintenance requests same day and constantly and proactively improving everything. Theyre also just really kind, helpful, responsive, and organized. My neighbors are clean, considerate, respectful, and quiet. Its incredibly dog friendly. And the apartments and amenities are obviously very nice and well-kept. Also of import, the area is super safe. Im out running or walking my dog in the dark every day and I always feel safe. People who live and work here care about others, and thus continue to wear masks when leaving their apartment or using the amenities. Around AMLI Mueller there are lots of restaurants and parks, and HEB right around the corner. Love living here.
I had such a wonderful experience moving into this building. I toured with Stephanie and she set the bar HIGH! She listened to my needs and helped me measure where my furniture would go. On the tour yall! All the staff here are great. Stephanie is a great example of what an above and beyond experience here at AMLI at Mueller looks like!
I am at a loss of words, it has truly and completely been the best experience to have worked with Stephanie Marshall at AMLI as our leasing agent. From the minute I walked into the leasing office to now as a resident at AMLI, she has made sure I am very well taken care of no matter the inquiry. Stephanie is the prime example of what providing the best customer service and going above and beyond is. If anyone needs a reason to be a resident at AMLI, that would Stephanie Marshall
My experience so far has been nothing short of amazing. Stephanie was great. She was very helpful, quick to respond, and professional. I love the apartment and they truly work to build a sense of community. I would definitely recommend!
Amli Mueller has an outstanding customer service. Always make you feel home and looking forward to help on any way possible “thinking positively” to resolve any issue. You would be glad and happy to move here compare with so many other apartments.Great community!!
I have nothing but good things to say about the AMLI Mueller staff and their quality of service. Ana Quijano, the assistant community manager, addressed all of my questions/concerns in a very timely manner. She was also able to get all leasing/administrative/city rent program paperwork squared away in the very tight timeframe I had to find a place for work (less than six days from tour to move in).Furthermore, all of the unit service needs were addressed within a day or two of move-in.AMLI at Mueller has great amenities, and responsive and detail-oriented staff. Highly recommend.
This is the third AMLI property Ive lived in Austin and by far my favorite. From the beginning, my leasing agent Stephanie was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. She even warned me that they were working on exterior enhancements and there would be construction noise.Jullee also was an MVP leasing agent and came to the rescue before the major snowstorm. She allowed me to pick up my keys a day early and complete my walk-through because we had a feeling the weather was going to hit hard the office would be closed when I was scheduled to start my lease.Ive had the pleasure of meeting and working with several people on the maintenance staff, all of which are so friendly and helpful. Chris and I even had a conversation about my dog and he let me know that he and others on staff had previous bad experiences with a similar breed on-site and that the staff may be uneasy around my dog - to which I was so thankful and understanding. Also, I love the greenery and walkability of this complex. Some downsides are upon construction, they didnt do a great job placing stairwells and elevators. Like many apartment complexes, the soundproofing isnt 100% - its not a high rise. I read so many negative reviews about this, but its something that you have to be understanding of when living in an apartment building and take the time to be considerate about your neighbors.
Didn’t know they would be doing construction right across from my apartment nor that they would be doing construction to the exterior of the building when I signed my lease. I work nights and have to sleep during the day...greatly hindering my quality of sleep, life, and productivity. Also the incessant dripping noise from the refrigerator was never fixed and it constantly sounds like someone is walking above me despite living on the top floor. Otherwise the community is pretty chill, I hardly ever see any other residents and no problem trying to find parking.
Stephanie is the best and ALWAYS accommodating. 10/10 would recommend!
Been living in a construction zone for the last 7 months. Looks like on-going construction for the foreseeable future. No prior notice of construction prior to re-signing the lease in June of 2019. Noise is unbearable. The other day, the only entrance/exit to the parking garage was blocked by a damaged fire gate. Was damaged at 11:00 pm the previous night and not cleared by 6:00 am when people were trying to leave for work.Building is 5 years old and falling apart. Painted particle board on the exterior.Wait for construction to complete prior to considering living here.Good riddance.
I regret about moving here.In the first month I had more issues and arguing than at 2 apartment complexes I lived before. In one I lived for 1 year and there was one small issue that was taken care of quickly, in the other one I lived for 5.5 years and there were 4 small issues that also were taken care quickly. Here is summary of the issues, more detailed explanation below if you are interested in reading more1. Good luck with having problems taken care of2. Some units are in bad conditions, see pictures3. Construction is being delayed and they are not honest about it4. They dont want to listen to you and tell that these issues is your problem (which is also complain of other reviewers)5. Many staff members are good and helpful, but the management is bad.Service is pretty bad. I had 3 issues in my unit: carpet had pee stains, vibration and noise from AC units on the roof, issue with a noice from a water pipe. Even though 2 out of 3 issues are not resolved and on one I had to follow up multiple times, they say that they did an amazing job.I reported issue with the carpet a week before I moved in, but it hasnt been taken care of. They ignored multiple times question in the email about checking for and cleaning pee stains in other areas.Issue with the noise has not been resolved. At first they said that its a problem and they will improve it. After they did some work and it didnt change anything they said that problem is fixed because of 1) similar fix resolved a problem in a different apartment complex 2) they responded to every email I sent and 3) they shoved me pictures. This is absolutely irrelevant to the problem. After arguing more about it they started saying that there were no problem at the first place. They didnt try to understand very well where noise is coming from and didnt come to check that work they have done improved situation.Noise from the water pipe is above 50 db. They said that they will come and fix it, but didnt show up and I had to follow up. After that technician came and said that he doesnt know if what he is going to do will improve the problem. And of course it didnt help.Miss schedule on the construction constantly and not being honest about it. One week they send an email that everything is on schedule, next week they send an email that construction is delayed for 2 weeks due to the weather even though only one week passed and there were only 2 rainy days.Adding some pictures of the units I saw, Rachel from corporate office were so convinced that they do a good job that she didnt even want to look at the pictures.
We worked with Stephanie to tour and apply for an apartment. She was very informative, helpful, and friendly! We cannot wait to move in.
Ended up paying $8000~ to break our lease early because construction on 3 sides while work from home during a pandemic is intolerable, and the office only said you can work in the shared space as though that is somehow a viable solution for everyone in the building, during a pandemic. I also had a package stolen and the building did nothing about it, as well upstairs neighbors from hell. The construction, btw, was because in a brand new building they forgot to put water proofing or something along these lines. Ridiculous. Staff is nice enough but unempowered to do anything about miserable living conditions.
Were trying to complete the project in phases throughout the end of this year and into the first part of 2021 - AMLI ManagementThis really says it all. This work began in January 2020. A brand new building is requiring over a year of noisy, disruptive reconstruction. This is not a place to live.Constant drilling from 8 to 6 Monday through Friday for the past 7 months. Loud floor, shaking construction on a building less than 5 years old. The entire pool, grill and sitting area they feature so prominently in all their advertisements of this building has been completely unusable and has been a hideous mess of scaffolding, plywood and construction equipment. Dont trust the online tours or the pictures online, come see that this building was poorly constructed and now is being rebuilt while the renters are still occupying it. Living here means living in a construction zone with shouting workmen, loud equipment, and nearly all the amenities unavailable. And from as far as the renters have been informed this will be case till well into 2021. Do not live here.
Terrible/no cell reception inside apartment. Can smell an odor from the trash room inside apartment, every time we come home is smells bad. We have used wax melts but it only helps a little.
Update July 12, 2020: I wanted to share my experiences overall with AMLI since my last comment, in case it helps anyone. The AMLI Residential corporation is responsible for this absolutely uncaring and borderline torturous behavior. We got so fed up with it that we reached out to various C-level folks at AMLI corporation. Karmin Lynch (Austin Area Vice President) and Maria Banks (President) always acted like they cared in one hand and turning around to say they cant do anything about the situation. I would urge anyone else dealing with this bad situation to reach out to these individuals demanding a better explanation for why people cant expect peace in their own home when having to pay $2000 a month.I will never recommend anyone I know to ever live in an AMLI. I do not support organizations that put profit before clients. Its disgusting. The only good thing that happened was they let us break the lease without any penalty. We moved to SYNC Muller, an apartment few blocks away, and are so much happier. I would recommend SYNC for anyone dealing with this problem or are a prospective Muller resident. My regret is not leaving AMLI sooner.Overall, the onsite staff including Jullee, Aaron, Ana and Trish were very considerate and tried to help us while we were going through all this and frustrated. Thank you guys for this.Old:I am chiming in to the last comment by Ross. The current construction began in December and has been delayed significantly. While wed love for the project to be finished soon, weve gotten to a point where we cannot get rest and calm at home. The non-stop drilling and hammering throughout the day, while were all stuck at home during Covid-19 has been mental. Im having to work 10-12 hours a day now and I know many of the other tenants are in the same position, having to take calls and online meetings from home. Were at a point of meltdown due to the noise; the managing team has responded poorly and not done anything meaningful (its been weeks weve been talking to them about the noise now). This review is not meant to speak poorly about specific staff members or the apartment. Weve had great interactions with Julee and Aaron from the front office and do like our apartment & neighborhood in general.
Shoddy, cheap construction. Walls are not insulated well enough to keep sound from transferring between apartments. The floors are not level. The cheap tile in the hallways and elevators is cracked and creates a tripping hazard. The hallways are only cleaned once a month and frequently full of dead bugs. The concrete stairs are cracked and don’t feel sturdy. Windows are hard to open. The elevators have not had their yearly inspection and are frequently not working.Noise and dust from the construction across the street are a nuisance as is the stucco repair work on the building itself.Mask rules for COVID safety are not enforced in the building public spaces. Two stars because the staff are kind.
Update: AMLI has compensated tenants affected by the construction giving us a significant discount on our July rent. This is greatly appreciated! Thank you for being responsible and responsive! It should be pretty clear now what AMLI management needs to do, and that is offer prorated rent for renters having to live with this noise and construction day in and day out. No one disputes the necessity of the repairs (although some may question why a relatively new building needs such work), but it is the lack of meaningful response from the management that has become frustrating. The only meaningful response being a prorated rent for those who signed leases without the knowledge that noise and ugly construction scaffolds would be part of their lives at the AMLI. It is understandable that the project has been made more difficult by the pandemic, but what isnt understandable is the renters having to live with the negative effects of the delay without compensation. Every renter I have talked to is planning on leaving the building at the end of their lease and leaving a harshly negative review of the complex. Three new apartment complexes are coming up in the near vicinity of the AMLI, competition for tenants in this area is going to be tough. The AMLI will have great difficulty competing if their reviews are filled with negative ratings and angry former renters. If AMLI wishes to recoup the losses of these repairs, management needs to repair their relationship with their current tenants first. Not with nice emails or understanding review responses, but with a discount on rent for those who wish to stay and penalty free lease breaking for those who want out.Edit: I will not be contacting the management office directly. This issue for all tenants, not just myself. My ideas are plainly laid out, and the consequence to AMLI are stated explicitly. I will say I would be happy to amend or update my review if management team decides to offer proper restitution to their tenants for the current situation.
Love it here! Been here for almost 4 years! Perfect location and great staff! Never any issues! Just construction but hey! They got to do it someday !
The construction is terribly noisy during WFH, the staff dont wear masks in any of their staff meetings even with COVID going on (but they yell at residents to wear them), and worst of all the package room is the size of a closet for 500+ residents packages where there is no COVID enforcement there either. Just a poorly run, overpriced community that is ruining Austin.(note in the picture below - improper / no mask use as pointed by the arrows, really disappointing to see this lead to more infections in our own building.)
I just moved in a month and a half ago, and was hoping the construction complaints were more minor than they actually are.The noise and clamor are extremely annoying while we are all working from home to start with.It seems like AMLI chose cheap contractors on the initial build and hoped the location, fantastic as it is, would fill occupancy up at high rates despite poor craftsmanship.Being cheap never pays. Do it right the first time and you wont have to do expensive maintenance all the time.
We pay almost two grand a month to live in a one bedroom construction zone. We specifically chose to move to the interior of the building because it’s more quiet... and for a while it was. Then the building decided to update and “paint” the whole building which is fine. The paint job quickly became construction job as they started ripping out portion of building, hammering, drilling and power sawing. The neighborhood was noisy enough with all the crowds and new construction exploring in the area... Now we have the constant sound of saws hitting cement on the inside of the building as well (as they are sawing out portions of floor on the balconies). It’s been pretty unbearable for a little over a month now with no end in sight. If you work odd hours or don’t have weekends off... I’d probably choose a different place to live for the time being. My spouse and I are on the verge of needing to work and sleep out of a hotel because of how bad it is.
Up until a few months ago, this apartment has been the best apartment complex I’ve lived in. The location is great and every staff member I have encountered in person have been wonderful. However, the construction that has been going on for the past few months has been awful. The noise and constant buzzing and vibrating are terrible. Barely any sunlight gets into my apartment now due to scaffolding and tarps places right outside of my balcony. I can’t relax in my own home.To reiterate from another review, the entrance/exit was blocked the other week from a fallen fire gate that a resident had hit during the night. I am a nurse and I attempted to leave the garage at 6:20 am, but it was blocked off so no one could get through. I was met by other nurses at the entrance who were scrambling to call their supervisors to tell them that would be late. I had to take an Uber to work, which I wouldn’t have minded, but given that we’re living during a pandemic, it made me uncomfortable. I don’t think it is right that the problem was not fixed before people were trying to get to work the next morning. I know most people are able to work from home so leaving the apartment is not a problem, but that’s not everyone’s situation right now.Definitely check that the construction is done before deciding to live here. I’m really going to miss living in this area once my lease is up, but I won’t miss the apartment, which is disappointing because I initially loved it. I understand that construction needs to done, but the whole situation has not been handled well. Management has been unresponsive. All we get is the same apology over and over again.
DO NOT LIVE HERE. Staff are nice, but this property is managed like a dive bar. The rent here is way too high for what you get:1. Horrible constuction quality. Doorframes are not straight, leaving big gaps where sun shines through and your A/C flows out. This also makes it difficult to open and lock your door after fronts come in and the doorframes shift. Soundproofing is not great. Condensation on windowpanes leads to mold.2. Trash chutes occasionally backed up. Residents frequently leave rotting trash lying on the ground in the trash rooms. These are not cleaned out regularly.3. Poor maintenance. Elevators frequenly broken. Shattered tiles in hallways for months on end. Dog feces or empty cans/bottles left in stairwells for days on end. Does not seem that staff do any walk-throughs of the property for basic upkeep and maintenance.4. Dangerous conditions around property. Very slippery tile when it rains. Broken glass left in stairwells. Screws and nails left in hallways and stairwells.5. Everything around the complex is under construction, so roads will be shut down or only have one lane available, or will be completely blocked off at random times. More screws and nails will be found puncturing your tires.6. Due to random construction in the garage you will occassionaly be unable to enter or leave the garage for half a day or so; it is unclear why repairs cannot be arranged overnight but must be done in the course of a business day when a majority of residents could be expected to need to enter and exit the garage. No accomodations are made for residents. If you have business to take care of you will have to remember the night before and pay for parking somewhere nearby so that you can go about your business while everyone else is trapped in the complex.7. Occasional vehicle break-ins in the garage. The communication on these is late, vague, and poor, with no identification of where the break-ins occurred (behind the gate or in the public parking area?), what floors the break-ins occurred, when the break-ins happened (at night? during the day? 3AM? 3PM?), what was taken, whether windows were broken -- you will have to rely on communication with your neighbors and NextDoor for information, as all staff will communicate in a 3-sentence e-mail, several days after the break-in occurred, that there were vehicle break-ins, at some point in the recent past at some hour of the day or night, and please to call the police with any info and dont forget lock your doors.8. Property renovations have been a nightmare, as others have noted. The rent concessions have been laughable considering the unpleasantness of it all. While trapped in your apartment during lockdown you might expect random events such as jackhammers on your wall, inches from where you were laying your head down down to take a nap. Workers will leave lumber with exposed nails lying around. Currently the renovation barricades are full of water, providing an exceptional breeding ground for a now-thriving community of mosquitoes at the Paseo, because we dont have enough West Nile or other diseases going around.9. Tiny over-crowded package room the size of a large walk-in closet; it is unclear why space could not be borrowed from the leasing office to ensure swift package access for 300+ residents. Small gym.Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to live.
Absolutely do not consider moving here until at least the latter half of 2021. The building is currently a construction site as they basically rebuild the facade of the entire building. It’s extremely noisy at all times, with rattling windows and booming floors, and the work is kicking up large amounts of dust and debris. This construction project is about 4 months behind schedule right now (on a project that was initially supposed to take 8 months), and they were already more than a month behind schedule *before* the pandemic, and they are not catching up. I expect another year of this.If you are considering moving here, know that you will not have access to key amenities, as they are in the construction area, and your apartment will rattle for 8 or 9 hours every weekday. If you still, really must look at this place, schedule a walk-through (*not* a virtual tour) on a weekday, not during lunch hours, to get a feel for what you’ll have to hear all day, every day.More frustrating than the construction work itself (which I understand to be necessary) is how the management has dealt with the situation - or rather, how they haven’t. There has been no restitution offer at all from the management; no offer to move to another AMLI building, no reduction of rent to compensate for the noise or even the lost use of amenities, no material effort to improve the comfort of residents whatsoever. What we’ve gotten are the slyly self-congratulatory corporate platitudes that basically translate to “tough s***” and weekly construction updates that let us all know about the specific details of what the workers are doing this week, but no information on the long-term plan, as if it matters to residents *what* the workers are doing that sounds like swinging around a bag full of jackhammers, but not when it will end. This situation makes me both angry and sad, because prior to the construction beginning in December 2019, I lived here quite happily for two years. I liked the neighborhood, the park across the street, the amenities, the staff, and my apartment. It’s the most I’ve ever paid for rent, but I felt like I was getting my money’s worth. This is my home. But now, with the neighborhood basically closed (not AMLI’s fault, obviously), the amenities unavailable, the staff offices closed indefinitely, and my apartment under constant sonic assault, I don’t want to be here. I want *to want* to live here, but I don’t, and AMLI isn’t doing anything to convince me I should stay. My wife and I have to work from home, so we can’t even get away from the noise to go to work. Instead, I pop another ibuprofen and try my best to ignore the fact that my walls are vibrating.
This review is long overdue. The office staff at AMLI at Mueller are very much resident oriented! All their staff, from management to maintenance, are super helpful and friendly. They step up when it comes to helping out their residents, and help in any way they can. I have lived at AMLI for a total of five years.... and I have never encountered a problem. If you are looking to rent at Mueller, this is the place to be! Thank you Aaron and Jullee for always being so professional and extremely helpful!
Really enjoyed our time living here. Super nice staff, never had pest issues, amenities are great.Very pricey for Austin. We had to leave because they raised our rent 8% after one year. Anyone you know get an 8% raise last year? I understand property taxes in Austin are high but thats a bit ridiculous. After we declined to renew our lease, our apartment was posted online with a 12% increase. We moved to a new building that is just as nice and is 13% less per month than what we paid at Amli.Again, we loved our time in this building but you can find similar apartments for less.
Firstly, this staff is the most responsive Ive ever experienced at any apartment Ive lived in Austin. I had a problem with an exterior hallway door slamming too loudly near my bedroom window, so I put in a request (expecting nothing to be fixed due to my past experiences at other apartments). We were surprised to notice the door was fixed the next day. The units are very clean and of high quality. The staff emails all residents, letting us know of any events they may be throwing, or any freebies that they are offering at the clubhouse. The place is a great location in a walkable community. You can walk to the HEB for groceries, go across the street to Alamo Drafthouse for a movie, or stroll on over to the several bars around the area. The quality of life here is as good as it gets. Every Sunday there is a farmers market at the park to restock on some fresh groceries. Also, the place is full of young professionals, so your neighbors arent going to be loud college kids. I highly recommend this place.
Amazing location and the building staff is top notch! They respond to emails quickly, are extremely professional, and very friendly. (Special shout out to Evan for being the all around MVP.) The amenities are fantastic and its a great place to live for young professionals. The rent is reasonable and the apartments are large in size and have very modern & eco-friendly appliances. The showers are also really nice and I look forward to mine every morning. We looked at over 20 apartments all over Austin when moving here, and this was far and away the best one. 10/10 would live here again.Construction is now over in the main area / the pool is open and they gave us all $500 back on rent which was very generous.
AMLI at Mueller is in a well developed are where you can walk to the park, coffee bars, beer/wine locations, and more. Its amenities are pretty awesome (fitness center, business center with printer, coffee dispensors, pool, conference rooms and community center) and the application and move in processes were fairly easy. Maintenance responds quickly and overall Im happy where I live.
The one star strictly goes to the layout of the apartment and the area that’s it’s surrounded by which is the Mueller Area. Besides that, the staff members are horrible. They portray to be very happy and perky but if you give them some time they will indeed show their real colors. For starters, I applied to Amli at Mueller through the smart housing program. In order to apply through the housing program, you must meet the income requirements, provide two months worth of paystubs, have a $500 money order that includes (deposit, admin fee, and application fee.) It’s also very important that you do not owe your previous landlord. I provided all of these things ASAP to ensure that the unit that I was applying for wouldn’t get put back on the market. Due to that, Amli at Mueller really led me to believe that I was going to get approved for the apartment unit. Unfortunately, I did not get initially approved because I had owed my last landlord. I didn’t think this was going to be a problem because I had a payment plan set up with my last landlord and I also informed Aaron the leasing consultant of the situation as well. Once Ana Quijano the Assistant community manager came back from her vacation and found out that I owed my last landlord, she did not give me a chance to explain the situation or didn’t even bother speaking with me before putting the apartment unit that I had applied for back on the market. As soon as the apartment unit went back on the market, it was taken off again by another potential resident that same day. In that moment that’s when I realized Aaron, Jullee (leasing consultant), and Ana were careless people because instead of consulting me or explaining to me the apartment unit was going back on the market, they put it back on the market and let someone else apply for it before I could even get the chance to speak with them about it. Afterwards, I paid off what I owed to my last landlord sooner than the payment plan that we both agreed upon and I had decided to settle for one the studio units that they had available. . Well, a few days later, I was informed by Aaron that the other potential resident didn’t get approved for the apartment either and if I wanted to apply again, the door was open for me to do so. At that moment, I thought that maybe my initial thought about Aaron was wrong and that maybe he did genuinely want to help me but I now realize that he only reached back out me just because it didn’t work out with the other potential resident. Due to me paying off my debt to the last landlord, Amli at Mueller decided to switch my lease from the studio to the 1x1 again. At the time, I was very grateful and again thought that my initial thoughts on Ana, Jullee, and Aaron was wrong. When I first moved in the unit, it was very nice but the bedroom carpet had very visible stains and the bathroom didn’t have a garden tub as expected. Before applying and moving into the 1x1 unit, Aaron gave me a tour of a one bedroom unit and at that time, he seemed to be really helpful and cheerful. While on the tour, Aaron informed me that ALL of the units had garden tubs. However, after I signed my lease and moved in, I was later told that I did not have a garden tub because it was an handicap accessible unit. I wish I was informed of this on the tour instead of lied to because that was of the amenities that I really wanted. I decided to let that lie go. After I moved in, I realized that Amli at Mueller actually had two buildings: the main building and the second building. My apartment unit was in the second building which doesn’t connect to the garage, have access to the laundry room, gym, or anything else that the main building has. The building that my unit is located in is practically a maze and it’s very complicated to get to the main building from the inside using the elevators. In which that is why I have to go outside every time to walk over to the main building. My unit also has silverfish which is disgusting. Ana and Aaron will also send important emails to you right before close to avoid dealing with you.
My experience with the staff and process of getting into AMLI has been nothing short of Extraordinary! I have felt as a customer that my dealings were priority and have been treated as such. The property is in an amazing location, beautiful building, incredible rooms, gorgeous park in conjunction, and expansive list of amenities. I could boast all day about my experience here but at this point you would get tired of reading it. So take my word for it and give AMLI a call, and come be my neighbor!
AMLI is the latest apartment complex to be added to the Mueller Development. Across the street from the Mueller Lake Park and neighboring the Thinkery (childrens museum), this is a wonderful place to reside. The apartment design is modern and highly energy efficient. The staff is exceedingly helpful and maintenance is carried out promptly.
Just moved in last week. So far so good. I signed the lease just one week before moving in, and it was smooth given the short window.
I’ve lived here for 3 months. I have to say my experience has been pretty subpar for the price I’m paying to live here. You can definitely hear your neighbors above you. Also if you live on the McBee side it’s extremely noisy with cars coming and going, delivery trucks beeping at 7am, construction, etc. so not the best place to live if you’re sensitive to noise. And since day one my thermostat has been a problem (had to complain about this multiple times). But what drives me crazy, is the ongoing maintenance issues. I’ve had to complain 5 times (mind you I’ve only been here 3 months) about a problem with our front door fob reader not working. It’s now going on 72 hours this time (hence the review) and I’ve called now 2x, and not even a call from the office to let me know what’s going on. This happens every couple of weeks, and means that if I take my dog out I have to walk all the way around the building to the other side. They need to replace it, but just a temporary fix which clearly is t effective. Not a good experience for the extremely high price we pay. The staff are very nice, just not on top of it. Apparently the only way I can get them to listen is to post reviews of my negative experience.Last thing to note: there’s really no onstaff security, so in the unfortunate experience you forget your keys and phone after hours, there is literally no way to get back in and you’re probably a mile from any sign of life after midnight. I was told that in that case, I’d just have to hope that someone shows up and lets you in. Every building I’ve ever lived in has a 24/7 security agent for situations such as this.Update: a month later, and the door is broken YET AGAIN. This place is ridiculous.
Great staff, and amenities are good (big pool, grills, gym, free coffee, etc). Noise from neighbors is an issue, as walls seem paper thin. Location and views are amazing.
Rickey gave us an amazing tour! Great place (love the zen area) and I couldnt more highly recommend a tour with Rickey!
I have been at Amli since March. Beautiful property but by far completely disappointed in the living experience. I have lived with an odor in this apartment since March. They have attempted to resolve it but no one can. Yet Im expected to pay full rent when I cant even stay here without making myself sick as it tends to come through my faucets. I own a home but rent due to my schedule and preference. I wouldnt dream of having my tenants pay me full rent when I couldnt resolve an issue timely. This is month 6! Theres also a worm problem? Friendly staff for sure but for the price of rent and how competive Austin is, I wouldnt do this again.
So this review pertains to applying at AMLI Mueller, and more specifically not being approved.I know I typed out quite a review for a place, which Im not even living in. I spaced out a bottom section for background information, to help give an idea of what I was going through applying here. The core of my review is that this complex played the fantasy of what life is like living at AMLI Mueller, really well at that. And the moment I was given the denial of my application this place change their vibe, almost nite and day.Not only did this place waste almost 2 months of my time. I was made to feel almost like a nuisance; doing my job to consistently request the whereabouts of the check. Money that could go towards a deposit for another complex; bills; or even just food man.Theyre quick to take your money but when it comes to returning, dont expect the same eagerness back.If youre applying to this place, definitely make sure that youll be approved. And write out a personal check so that in the case the application doesnt work out, itll be easier for you to receive your funds back, instead of what I did with a money order.---------------------------------------Evan was the recruiting manager, working on my application. Sweet guy, and very thorough. At first I didnt have any issues with applying for a unit. I was honestly really looking forward to being a resident there; the energy and overall friendliness of the place is what drew me in.So in order for me apply I needed to pay out a $500 deposit, basically to take the unit off the market. And it was mentioned to me that if in case Im not approved Ill receive about $440 back as a check ($60 towards the application fee).Sadly I wasnt approved, but I didnt let that bother me. We went through the process of requesting a check written back out to me. Now this is the part where I feel like the true colours of AMLI Mueller started to show.Evan sent the request between April 7th - 9th. About a couple of days after my rejection date (April 6th). At first I was told it take about 2 weeks to see my check within my post. That time period went by, and I didnt receive anything. I continued to wait patiently, which looking back that was a mistake.I waited, again, towards the end of the month (April 24th) and contacted back. Their response was: It looks as though the check was processed on 4/11 and send to (my address). You should receive the check within 30 days of when it was issued. My wait time started from 2 weeks, to a whole month... I followed the process, and waited. May 11th has then passed, and yet nothing in the post. My patience really started to wear thin. I made contact needing more clarification on where my money is.Our next interaction took place on May 14th, and their response went as so: We got in contact with our accounting department and this is what they replied. The check was cut on April 16th and mailed to the address provided on April 19. The check has not been returned to us Not Deliverable. That means I was made to wait until the end of the month, just to be told that the check was sent out; couldnt be delivered; AND not returned to the sender. Oh and not only that, it wasnt even left at my district post office, which I checked. Usually mail that couldnt be delivered to the designated address is left there. On May 15th Evan mentioned to me that theyll stop the cashing from the initial check, and process out another one to be delivered to the apartment complex for my pick up.It is now May 29th, I received a phone call from Evan stating that they just now processed the check and I should expect one to come in by the beginning of next week. Were going on 2 months, that Ive waited for (emphasis) my money.
(Rating as a guest not a resident)Always clean and had good interactions with staff. Always parking available and good surrounding area.
Offers a sterile feel with an immersive get-to-know-your-neighbor experience with their paper-thin walls.
This complex is a prime example of why Austin is having a housing crisis. I’m in the middle of the application process for one of the assisted living units and not only was there a deep dive into my finances beyond a reasonable measure I was also asked to sign away my right to supplement my income then I was asked to pay an additional deposit. The management went out of their way to make the process as uncomfortable as possible then asked for fees that they were well aware would be beyond my means (on top of rent the fees were 110% the price of rent). This company is one of many that signed up for the smart housing initiative for a tax break but maintains elitist standards that exclude those who are actually in need.-------------------------------------------------------------------Update: After being asked for a second deposit I asked the management if I could pay half with each of my first 2 rent installments. The management responded by telling me that they would decline my application which was a big surprise to me seeing as how I was told I was approved. In fact, I have already signed my lease and made the first months rent payment but somehow Im receiving threats to deny my application. Just dont live here.
When is the AMLI at Mueller Gym downstairs going to Re-Open for all residents to use?
Avoid living here. The whole intention of rental office is to rob people with so many hidden fees. Apartments do not come with washer dryer, and there is only one common washing facility with 3 washers (which is also inaccessible from many apartments). I have been staying here for a month, and just keep on getting surprises of one or another hidden fees
