I absolutely love living at 6th street west. I just resigned my lease for my second year and it was an easy decision. The location is perfect. It’s beyond affordable for the area. The community is friendly, respectful and mature. I think one of the best parts is how wonderful and communicative the office staff and management are. I haven’t had any issues other than one or two maintenance requests and those were addressed promptly and fixed so quickly! I’ve lived other places and have never experienced anything like this. I couldn’t recommend this anymore. Thank you to Chris, Julio and the whole staff!

Lived in West 6th Street apartments for 3 years. 1 year in a 1 bedroom and two years in a 2 bed. The 2 beds have central AC and not a wall mounted AC unit. This spot is a well kept secret. Cant beat the location. The rent is a great value for the neighborhood. Safe/clean/charming neighborhood. Easy walk to whole foods flagship store for groceries. Plenty of great restaurants in walking distance...Josephine House, Clarks, night cap, bar peached etc. Maintenance/repairs were performed within 24 hours. Only drawbacks to living here are the walls are thin and it is an older building. Loved living here. You never need to drive anywhere. Really gives you the best location Austin has to offer at an affordable rate. Management is very friendly and accommodating.

Overall great place to live! I moved to Austin a year ago and chose 6th street west apartments as my place to live. It has been a great place to with friendly staff that are always willing to accommodate you. If there ever was a minor problem they made sure that it was fixed ASAP. Apartments are nice and clean and you cannot beat the location! Had an amazing experience living here and would recommend to anyone.

Have lived here for one year now and it has been great overall. Cant beat the location, unit sizes are comfortable, and management is responsive and caring. Room for improvement: laundry situation (communal), and individual AC units.Also, the pool is awesome and 10 min walk to Zilker/restaurants. Would recommend living here.

Great community to live in. The staff is attentive & communicative, I’ve enjoyed living here. I love that it’s very centrally located but also on the edge so it never gets congested when there is an event in town. (Which is often) Access to the running trail is also extremely close so that’s also another plus.

Lived here for a year and you cannot find a better deal. Yes it’s an older building, but they fix maintenance issues as soon as you report them. Easy access to restaurants, workout studios, and a direct bus line downtown

You cant beat this apartment location in the quiet side of west downtown Austin in Clarksville. Small town vibe and charming West Lynn street with local coffee shops, restaurants, and grocery. Access to major thoroughfares are just right when you exit the property complex. Downtown Austin is few blocks on Lamar Blvd on 6th Street West.

Our son was in Austin for the summer on an internship. He was coming from Pennsylvania, so we really wanted a furnished apartment. I looked at hundreds of apartments before finding a wonderful apartment at 6th St. West. It was fully furnished, reasonably priced, and in a great location. It was exactly what he needed!

With Chris as the current property manager, he was diligent to help us in our concerns and questions. The apartment complex itself is a little older and used to be a hotel/motel structure, but for the location, it is one of the more affordable deals if you can share it with another person (or if money is not an issue). Neighbors are relaxed and quiet, and the neighborhood is fantastic. Clarksville and Old West Austin are areas with great parks, restaurants, and areas to live.

Management is great and responds quickly to any issues. They quickly came to patch up a mouse hole once I spotted it. I always felt safe and enjoyed the use of the pool.

Love this apartment! The staff is kind and very responsive .While the apartments are a little small, they have a great design which makes them seem a lot larger. Plus, you cant beat the price for the location .

I was a resident of 6th Street West Apartments for 1 year, leasing a 1-bedroom apartment. I moved to this complex from the Northeast US and the remote leasing process was seamless.One of the best features of 6th Street West Apartments is their online portal for residents. The portal made it easy to pay monthly rent/utilities, as well as manage facility requests. In addition, any facilities requests that came up for my unit were handled efficiently and properly.This living situation offered a prime location to downtown Austin; nestled in the safe, quaint, residential neighborhood of Clarksville. The management team was consistently cooperative, responsive, and helpful.

I lived in the Red Oaks apartment complex managed by the Westside group. During my 1 year stay, I submitted one maintenance request, which was promptly completed. Additionally my deposit was returned on time in full. I see alot of negative reviews but all of my interactions with the Westside group lead me to believe they are reasonable and decent people, not out to screw their tenants.

Having lived here the past five-plus years, I would highly recommend 6th Street West Apartments for anyone looking to live in a premier location at a reasonable price.First and foremost, the location is amazing. You could easily get by living here without a car. You’re within a five-minute walk (or less) from Fresh Plus Grocery, Caffé Medici, Galaxy and Zocalo Cafes, Mean Eyed Cat, Donn’s Depot and other great local destinations. If you walk a little farther, say 10-15 minutes, you can easily get to Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, all the bars on West 6th like Irene’s and Little Woodrow’s, Zilker Park, the new Central Library, etc. If you have a bike, you can easily get from your apartment to basically anywhere downtown within a few minutes tops, including the Roy Butler hike-and-bike trail, which provides safe and scenic east/west passage from Zilker to east Austin with plenty of fun stops along the way. Simply put, the location is exceptional and convenient to almost everything.Beyond the convenient proximity to everything, the apartments have a very nice pool area that’s great for a quick swim or just enjoying a nice day. Unlike most new pools that are just for wading, this pool goes to 8 feet deep, so you can actually jump in and swim around. It’s surrounded by mature Italian cypress, palo verde and palm trees, which provide a nice ambience, and there is a raised wooden deck with tables and chairs on the western end.The units themselves are cozy and simple with lots of closet space and multiple ceiling fans. Also, the maintenance team mostly lives on site, or immediately next door, so they are always available to respond on a moment’s notice. The few maintenance requests I submitted over the years were always responded to promptly — literally the same or following day — and the guys always did a quality job.Your neighbors will tend to mostly be young people, it’s easy to make new friends, and you can have pets if desired. There are also laundry facilities on the premises, so you don’t have to go off-site to wash your clothes.In sum, 6th Street West Apartments is a great place to live, close to almost anywhere you’d want to go downtown or in the urban core like Zilker Park. I’m only moving on because I have finally bought a home, but the past five years at 6th Street West were great and I’m glad I was able to live there so long.

Close to amenities but small and run down. Limited parking

The property quality is reasonable for the price, but what makes them 5star is the management.They communicate any issue with the complex (water outages/utility provider shutdowns) via text message and provide multiple updates over time. They are very responsive to maintenance requests and were very flexible with extending my lease at the end of my term.The property has issues (due to its age), but the location and price make up for the age of the property.
