Well i got the chance to go into LA fitness, due to my health program paying for it.I met up with Nate and Taylor who as we chatted to find out what i wanted in their program. Nate took me through my paces after i explained what i wanted to do .Nate was focused and fun to?chat with.he is also military so that was?a plus. Taylor took me through the paper work if i could do a trainer and at this point i cant. We tried to make it work but not yet. They both checked out my paper work and saw i needed some work . looking forward to coming in and doing what has to be done but also knowing these two are here to help me if needed.and that folks is important. I think other seniors should consider coming in and chatting with these two young men, and see what they can do for you.Well got to go see you in side la fitness sometime.Action 5

Might be one of the worst health clubs Ive ever been to. Every single time I walk in I am greeted by a person with their head buried in their phone, NEVER a hello. Dont think in 10 years that all the equipment has been in service. Something is always broken and it takes weeks months to fix. For the most expensive club in York, it is the absolute worst club in York. Thats why this place is a ghost town

When I first came in I was super nervous but everyone made me feel so comfortable. Kelly the manager got me set up right away and hooked me up with a personal trainer to meet my goals. The gym is very clean and it doesn’t feel like a chore coming In. I would recommend this gym to anyone as everyone is very nice, even the people working out are so friendly! Taylor the personal trainer makes me feel so comfortable and is getting my body right ya feel me.

Front desk staff is very professional, place is clean and well kept. Huge variety of equipment, anything you need is here.For the Instagram kids: Lighting is okay, not the worst Ive seen but theres better options locally.Also, energy is very low here, place feels dead 90% of the time so its tough to get a hard workout in.Objectively speaking, its the best gym in York.

Nice place and pool unfortunately owners cannot afford to maintain it. Hot tub has been down and pool hasn’t had heat for past 3 weeks. I may as well swim in Codorus Creek for free!

I had a customer service issue and worked with the mgr Tori, or Victoria and she was absolutely amazing. She resolved all of my issues and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. I recommend her and this location. Before I moved out of the area this was always one of the top gyms in the area.

This is a great gym, but if you want an early morning workout, go somewhere else. They are supposed to open at 5 a.m., but frequently we are left standing outside waiting for someone to come open the doors. This morning I waited until 5:20 then I left.

I was looking for a good gym with a pool, reasonable price and open hours late into the night or 24/7 which was ideal. The staff is absolutely wonderful! They were the only gym nearby with a pool that had decent pricing (its a bit expensive but not too bad, they do have a lot of amenities and the pool which is a plus) and they are open until 10pm on the weekdays so that works for me. (I would recommend planet fitness if you want something less expensive, open 24/7 and dont mind not having a pool). The personal trainer there is worth his weight in gold! Hes clearly intent on getting you to reach your goals and taking you through your journey to the end. He is so optimistic and supportive! I love the staff, they are so supportive too and its a great non judgment place. Even the other members there are very helpful if you dont know how to use aquiptment and the staff isnt nearby people are super happy to help!

The Pool is freezing and the whirlpool has been down for a very long time as well! People that I told to get membership are talking of joining another Gym! The Employees are put in a bad spot having to make excuses for faulty amenities!

Taylor and Tori answered my questions diligently, and were beyond helpful in getting me a great deal for my needs. I was curious about a promotional offer, and they went above and beyond to help secure my confidence so I could make the purchase. Great work, and im excited to join!

Used to have some issues with the place not always being clean every visit. Since they reopened after the Covid shutdown this has not been a problem. The place has been clean every visit.

Overall great experience, Austin set me up while I’m on vacation and I couldn’t be happier. Its an extremely clean environment and I plan on continuing to return to this specific gym every-time I visit york. Do yourself a favor and workout here, you won’t regret it.

Manbun Austin is an awesome manager, he laughs at my jokes. Morgan works great with the members. Jake has the nicest hair and shoes of anyone in the gem, his car would look better with a spoiler.The gym may have some years but with all the amenities, unity of diverse members, and good vibrations, it’s a great gym.You will never hit your head on the ceiling

I came in LA Fitness and was assisted by the general manager - Austin, he was very personable and helpful to me and my son. He helped us get the membership we needed. I enjoyed working with him!

I really wish I could give 5 stars because my kids and I both thoroughly enjoy our time here and the staff that are so friendly. My kids love to “go play gym” and Daysha, Josh and Gem especially make that a good experience for them. My biggest complaint is that the gym is really dirty. The kids club bathroom is always gross and it’s easy to see that it hasn’t been cleaned from the day before. Often I “mop” the floor myself with a paper towel when helping my toddler to potty. I have nightmares about how much of that filth ends up on the toys and the play equipment in their area. 🤢😱 The mirrors throughout the entire place always have boogies/saliva or look like they were sprayed and not wiped or kinda of sort of wiped but more dirty looking than before. The floor is pretty gross and the equipment always looks like it has questionable residues of different kinds on it. I was showing a friend around the gym because she was thinking of joining and I was super excited to show her the hot tub until I saw it.... a whole lot of nope going on in there. The other star I didn’t give is because the whole place just needs a remodel/upgrade/pick me up. It seems they fixed the button pad on some of the machines but now the buttons are super hard to push and get a response and when you’re running full pace that isn’t a good thing. So super friendly atmosphere with lots of potential just needs a face lift.

I have been going to LA Fitness for many years. The staff and Operations Manager are so kind and willing to help when there is a situation. I have found many gym members cleaning up after themselves once they are done with a machine. This is highly important especially in a gym where their are a tone of germs. So, cleaning up after you sweat gives other members a positive gym experience when walking into the building. The Operations Manager Diane is very good at her job. She makes sure tasks are getting accomplished on a day to day basis. She is willing to help members strive with success for their ultimate weight goals by keeping a clean environment. With her delighted smile and positivity that flows through her with her hard work, it brings encouragement. I would recommend LA Fitness to anyone because Diane is a great leader!

This gym is great! The staff is so friendly and helps me accomplish my goal. Jake, my personal trainer has really helped me accomplish my goals and is always designing new workouts to help push me. His knowledge in personal training is great and he is always coming up with new exercises. I highly recommend this gym.

I’ve been a member for years. My kids feel at home in the Kid’s Club, and I never have issues getting access to equipment. The staff is super friendly, particularly Diane! She’s always willing to help. And I’ve taken several spin classes - Sara always pushes me!

Dont use trainer so this gym is perfect for me. The bb court is what differentiates the gym for me as at 72, I need the court for stretching; endurance and maintaining balance.

I have been a member for almost 3 months now and it’s a great facility. I’m also a member of the personal training program and Jake is awesome when it comes to personalized workouts. He really pushes you to reach your goals.

Been a member since 2015. I really enjoy LA Fitness. Staff members are very friendly and are always there to help when it’s needed. I enjoy the amenities as well. I mean it’s a gym that has everything I need. I just wish the equipment wasn’t always out of service.

Love the atmosphere! The trainers are awesome to work with! I work with Jacob and he knows how to push me to new levels, levels I would never have realized I could do without his guidance. He truly wants to sure I get the results I am looking for and even on days I am not scheduled to work with him he will check in with me to make sure everything is going well, to give me workouts and encouragement! I couldn’t ask for a better trainer!

It’s a great gym. I usually don’t have to wait for equipment. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Sue is awesome. She helped me develop a meal plan that really works for me. I’m back in my pre-pregnancy jeans!

I have been going to la fitness for a really long time. I love it there, the staff is always helpful and friendly. The management, Diane Pantano has always been such a delight, greeting us at the door with a big smile. Definitely my favorite la fitness of the ones I been to.

Two main issues with the club are the machines always being broken and taking forever to get fixed and how dirty the showers and locker room are. At the beginning of the year there were close to 12 machines that were broken and literally took weeks to get fixed with some of them still not fixed. The pool was out of operation for a few weeks and now the men’s sauna is broken. The showers are disgusting. Mold and mildew not only in the crevices but on the curtains as well. There was a period for about two weeks where almost all the showers curtains had huge gaping rips and holes in them and it took them about two weeks for them all to get replaced. There’s no sense of urgency to fix anything and when I told one of the front staff members about one of the treadmills being broken, he asked me to fix it by unplugging it and plugging it back in. As a member, that’s not my job or responsibility. The gym opened almost 40 minutes late the one morning. I pay $29.99 a month for a membership and services that I’m not receiving. Broken machines, equipment, saunas and pools, dirty facilities and inattentive staff. Being a paying member, it’s super disrespectful. So although the gym is incentivizing people to give 5 star reviews, the truth is the gym doesn’t deserve a 5 star review until things get fixed.

Really great gym with all really nice, clean equipment. The staff is super friendly, and the trainers are especially helpful. Frank, the manager, really takes the time to make you feel welcome. Would definitely recommend this gym to people of all ages and fitness levels.

Awesome facility! Loved the ability to be able to workout, swim or use the basketball courts. I came in on a free pass but I’m for sure going to turn it into a monthly pass! Also has a place for the kids if you need to bring them with. 10/10 recommend.

Ive been a member for just shy of one year now. I joined here because I want to swim and this offered a nice 4 lane pool. For the first few months I put up with what I consider to be dirty showers and bathrooms because of the pool. It wasnt so disgusting that I was afraid to catch anything, just not clean. I did pick up a huge chunk of hair from the drain one day and placed it up pretty high in the shower. That stayed there for more than 5 months. Ive found the staff to be less than helpful on most occasions. When I report an issue to you, the answer should not be, yeah, thats been like that for a while now, or can you move to a different machine if thats broke? Theyve recently changed pool cleaning companies and apparently this one isnt so great either. Today when I got there to swim the pool water looked as murky as if 27 people had just taken a bath in your home bathtub, using the same water. Ick. When I asked the front desk about what was up with the pool I got attitude from the one guy. He said You think we should close it down for the week? Him being facetious and a royal jerk is probably not in the handbook of how to be a good customer service representative. I asked one of the front desk reps to call the general manager and this guy says, she doesnt work on the weekend, shes not going to come in. Again, not helpful. Im seriously considering canceling my membership but I love the pool when it is working and they do have some good people who work there doing class training.

Love this gym! The pool is great, four lanes so not usually crowded and good temperature. They have a great racquetball court as well! Clean showers and steam room, I recommend this gym to anyone looking for a good workout spot!

Very friendly guests and employees. Had little experience going to a gym but everyone has been very helpful and encouraging during my time here. Very big help and thanks to my trainer Jake, who has been encouraging and teaching me all the machines and practices during my workouts. Has been a big help with helping me reach my goal. Look forward to coming here for each session I have with him and on my own also.

Good clean gym with something for everyone. Great selection of equipment, classes and free weights. Complete with indoor pool & sauna. Im also impressed they do participate with some of the fitness programs with many insurance companies so check them out, you may be able to save on their already reasonable prices.

Before I joined I was pretty nervous to join a gym. I felt completely out of my element and I didn’t begin to know where to start in regards working out. That was almost 2 years ago and now la is my second home! The staff especially Sue have become like family and have helped me so much with knowledge and skill! She goes above and beyond her job title! Highly recommend her!! Hands down!! 🙌👊

I love going to this gym. It’s very conveniently located and the fee is a good value. I have hired a personal trainer who has transformed my body. T is awesome!!!The reason for 4 stars is related to two drivers:1) - equipment breaking and not being fixed in a timely fashion... mainly the stairmasters.2) cleanliness of showers.I’d love to see this gym get a makeover so more people can improve their health!

Ive been going to the York location for a few years now and have no complaints. Whenever I walk in im always welcomed by Diane, whos usually at the front desk, she always makes you feel at home. Love the atmosphere, staff is excellent!

Best gym in york area i have found. Been to 8 others trying to find clean, safe place to work out with professional staff. They have beenable to meet all my picky perspectives and go multiple times a week on different days. I enjoy the strength training with machines and free weights as well as unwinding in sauna, hot tub and pool afterwards.

Update that locker room. Get better Basketball’s. Do those things and it’s a 5 star.

My trainer Jake has done an amazing job teaching me all the techniques and how to use the machines and has helped me out a lot. He helped gain 7-8 pounds and 3 months and I’m seeing great results

So far I mostly enjoy LA fitness. At times the classes are cancelled without notice or the bathrooms, equipment, pool, sauna could be much cleaner. Bumping up cleaning is always a plus where there are so many humans 😊😊The instructors are good and Ive never had to wait for equipment or weights. The members are polite and friendly. ....as is the staff....and oh....the strawberry smoothie reward!!!!

Love the classes and the teachers! They definitely keep it fun and change it up to make sure you get a great workout. Everyone at this LA is great, even just the members, everyone is willing to help one another to get the best workout.

Overall a great environment. The worker at the Daycare I believe her name is Dayana was so helpful and so nice with my nephew. He didn’t want to leave after.

Its a decent gym. Good equipment, several decent racquetball courts. A small basketball court, pool. No towel service, if thats important to you.

DIANE Pantano is the nicest person to talk to and greetings from her is with a smile every time I go in. The gym is the cleanest Ive ever been in and Ive been a member since it opened up. If there is any issues you can be it will be taken care of with her.

I have been training at LA since 5/12/18. Jake Raber is one of the newer personal trainers, but he has really helped elevate my training to the next level. Thanks Jake...the results are definitely noticeable!

Great gym, dont know what the fuss is about in the other reviews... Only downside is there are no towels provided. Other than that its great! Been going to LA for years all across the country and this one has really good hours comparatively.

The gym rarely opens on time during the week and its even worse on the weekends. On 07-16-17 the gym opened 15 minutes late and when I finished my workout I approached a salesperson named Mike who was very friendly. He advised he had only been working there 3 days and didnt know there was an ongoing issue nor did he know why the front desk person failed to show today, but promised me he would let his superiors know. Then I saw a Personal Trainer standing at the front desk that I recognized as working there for several years and told him of the troubles with the gym opening on time and he was also very receptive and promised to let the General Manager know about the issue. While explaining to him that the gym rarely opens on time during the week an employee also sitting at the front desk said to me the gym always opens on time during the week and that the front desk person arrives at 4:55 or 4:58 the latest. I explained to him that the gym opens at 5am and that isnt early enough to open the gym on time and that he should probably arrive no later than 4:45 am if the gym opens at 5am. He then made a face and shook his head in what appeared to me to be in disgust. I asked him what that was about and he replied I just dont like listening to silly complaints. I was infuriated and told him that wasnt very professional and not great customer service. He then told me that is why he is a janitor and not a front desk person. I explained to him that all employees at LA Fitness are in the customer service business and that his conduct is extremely unprofessional. I am very disappointed with LA Fitness and do my best to work out out at the surrounding gyms like, Golds Gym in Shrewsbury and 24 hr. Fitness.

Great gym but, the staff need to inform the members of the dress code. No one wants to see naked old dudes walking around the locker room. No one wants naked dudes i the sauna. Shirtless old dudes in the gym area with no shoes on. Common

Poorly maintained. Equipment sits for months broken.Bathroom not cleaned enough. Typically soap and paper towels are empty. Sinks are gross.Staff is rude. Cycling classes run with doors to the room open blasting music and/or trainer barking directions at the class so I cant hear my music in headphones. Close the doors, they are there for a reason.Continually hear of lockers being broken into. Our locks have been cut twice. I stopped using them which is a hassle.Im grandfathered into a low rate. I would never join at current rates with better gyms around.

Its big, and open, I really like that. They need more classes, esp water classes. Also, it wouldnt hurt them to scrub the hot tub. Lowering my score from 3 to 2,... Machines are ALWAYS broken. Some that have been broken for MONTHS at a time. My membership, as with many others should pay for these repairs,... What the hell??

Great staff, clean, and tons of equipment. Wish they would have more than one power rack. But 4 benches and 2 squat racks + 1 power rack is enough for everyone usually.

My experiences with LA Fitnesses are always great, no intimidation and good energy. Also I’m grateful for Dayana at the kids club daycare, I feel as though my nephews and nieces are in a safe environment and always eager to go back.

One of the nicest gyms in the area! Only issues Ive had is it took them forever to fix the one chest fly machine, and a lot of the treadmills seem to have issues often - other than that, its been a great experience!

Nice gym - like the pool, hot tub, big locker room. Lot of space in general if you need to do your own thing. Basketball court is cool, plenty of classes.I was disappointed that this LA fitness does not even have a normal pull up bar. Yes, some new age, angled pull up bars around, but not a normal, straight bar.When you join, you will be pushed HARD to sign up for personal training sessions. To begin them, it is $90, then $40 a session, which they suggest you do 3-4 a week. Add to that the monthly membership of $30. All of that just for someone to push you with a generic workout book anyone can find online.

Honestly, It kills me to even have to give this place 1 star. Do not go to this gym. This gym stole 900$ from me. Ive been through a lot and since I lost my grandfather a year ago I wasnt doing well and my doctor put me on antidepressants. That being said, I gained 40 lbs. I got off the anti depressants and wanted my body back so I decided to replace it with the gym. They offer a free personal training session and then rope you in to sign up. They leave out multiple details and I was lied to straight in the face about how much this would cost. You dont sign anything on paper, you electronically sign it. Once I found out how much I was actually paying a month, I wanted to cancel. It just so happens you only have 3 days to cancel, and in order to cancel it would end up being $900. Explain to me what kind of labor, or damage they have put out to have to owe them $900 after they already took $900? I am a student and they took complete advantage of me. A class action law suit is currently in progress. This place is a disgrace.

Social gathering for most... Guys stare at girls working out. Pick up spot... Not a serious gym. People sit on machines wasting time talking. No real area to get on floor for abs. If u looking to watch a live sex and the city episode its perfect for you. Snobby people who want to talk on the phone n flex in mirror. Equipment been broken for months. Cleaners dont do much.
